PHILADELPHA (AP) — Hillary Clinton is hoping the "Colbert bump" will help propel her to victory in Pennsylvania.

The Democratic presidential hopeful is making her first appearance on Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" on Thursday. Both Clinton and Colbert have come to Pennsylvania ahead of the
state's hard-fought Democratic primary on April 22.

Clinton rival Barack Obama also is in Pennsylvania — but he is declining Colbert's invitation. Obama's wife, Michelle, will appear on the show Tuesday.

News of Clinton's visit was divulged Monday night in Philadelphia by MSNBC pundit Chris Matthews. He blurted it out backstage during taping of the show at the University of Pennsylvania's Zellerbach Theater. The news was confirmed by a person close to the satirical news program who insisted on anonymity because the visit has not been officially announced.

Democrats appearing on the show have sometimes enjoyed increases in fundraising afterward.

I love that tropicalos is the only one that had something uplifting today.

I agree with the previous writer who said that Clinton supporters are vicious when it comes to their comments about Barack. I have also noticed that what the media has said about the core supporters of Clinton, they are less or uneducated. If you look at the majority of the insulting posts about Barack, there are sentences that make sense to only the writer. Many of them I had to just skip because I could not make out what they were trying to say and the rest had so many misspellings and run on sentences that I just had to move on.

Being uneducated is NO excuse for not doing your research. Many of you are listening to what you hear on the news. Did you go to both of the Senator's sites to see what the issues are and how they plan to make change?

For those of you who have asked if I have, the answer is yes. I took the time to print out the Blueprint for Change on the Obama site and have visited and read up on Clinton on her site. I would suggest that suppoters on both sides do the same, make a solid INFORMED choice and stop all this name calling because it is getting old and I am getting sick of it from the candidates and from the supporters.

If you stop the "silly season" then maybe we can get on track and support whomever the Democratic nominee is going to be whether it is Obama or Clinton. Honestly, as a nation, we are being very carefully wanted by the global community, act like you have some kind of home training.

Look forward to watching her on the report. I'm a typical white guy, gay one at that too! I do a lot of blogging and I have never gone negative on Obama, I leave that to Hillary, and I have never gone negative on his supporters either. I have several friends that voted for him and they are respectful people. Online it seems his fans are more angry and bitter, not sure why. I suppose in real life you would not say the things you say on line, at least I hope our world is not the evil.

Now for Obama   April 15th, 2008 3:38 am ET

Both Mccain and Obama have been on Hardball College Tour but Sen Hillary Rotten Clinton was afraid that the questions would be too hard so she declined. Colbert is easier for her though. What and idiot she is

Val   April 15th, 2008 3:35 am ET

People are becoming such parrots on these comment sections. Elitist, Rambo, blah, blah, blah. You guys all listen to your candidates and just say their rubbish. Get over it, just support your guy/gal and leave it be. Why does everyone have to argue like children constantly? All three candidates are rich, will have more money then most of you in your lifetime, they are human, have flaws, but they want to be President for some reason. Why do adults play into this game of demonizing the other? It's just a matter of choice. Most people on here need to grow up! Respect other people for their choice and stop fighting so much. As adults, we all need to stop talking down on each other.

MacMo   April 15th, 2008 3:30 am ET

Obama will keep it close in PA and win big in NC.

Dean   April 15th, 2008 3:28 am ET

The latest Pennsylvania poll, based on interviews conducted over the weekend, shows Hillary Clinton with a shocking 20-point lead over Barack Obama, 57%-37%, with only 4% undecided. Until last weekend, the trend had been running in Obama's favor, so it's hard to attribute the turnaround to anything other than Obama's "bitter" gaffe. Or maybe to Obama's advertising blitz, as 23% of likely Democratic primary voters said that excessive exposure to Obama's ads is making them more likely to vote for Clinton.

Alex, Cheap politics??
I guess milking a cow and buying ham is way better??

With Obama you have no clue, really, what you get. How do you all know that he doesn't think like his pastor for example.
He has yet to serv more than one term as a senator..

Why not let him show himself for 4 more years and then vote for him.

MacMo   April 15th, 2008 3:20 am ET

Hillary will definitely win PA but will lose the nomination. There's no way mathematically she can win.

TYPICAL WHITE MALE from Michigan   April 15th, 2008 3:16 am ET

Watch that Colbert Character Hillary — he is a real clown, or maybe the Devil in a Clown's suit. I have watched him, and he really knows how to spin something into Outer Space. I really don't trust him. Why won't ABM meet with him? Is Obama afraid Colbert will find more Skeletons in that closet. I give Hillary much CREDIT for meeting with Colbert — he can be extremely slimy at times. At least it is not that complete HUGE IDIOT Dennis Miller………………

Alexa   April 15th, 2008 3:14 am ET

The more appearances she makes the more her face may stick in voters heads. Plus she's always so down to earth! I can't wait to see her Comedy Central!

Alex   April 15th, 2008 3:13 am ET

Hillary is so desperate that she is using every opportunity she gets to tear down Obama. Come on! Who is elitist? Who is racking in millions and raising fund from the rich…Hillary, you aimed it misfired and shot yourself. This is cheap politics. I do not even know if there is an ounce of moral value in your body. God bless America and keep Hillary out of White house. I will take McCain any day over this chameleon who can say anything to win.

Hillary 08'   April 15th, 2008 2:54 am ET

Straight up truth.
Obama just doesn't want no part of a show where some of the comedy comes from light insults on people. From a Rep. that was first thinking McCain… changed to Obama… and then slid sideways to Hillary because he now realizes Obama is nothing but talk and an idiot..

I mean face it.. Obama says he'd fire Penn but wouldn't leave a church that was sermoned by basically a racist black man?.. lmfao.
Obama's a joke. His racism, Jesse Jackson's racism, Al Sharpton's racism, and Oprah Winfrey's racism are all PATHETIC.

But in America.. anything can happen.
We put an idiot in there TWICE now.. watch us do it again.
For an idiot.. vote Obama.

Lets just stay away from idiots, actually.
Hillary 08′. Someone with action.. not just talk.
It's not YES WE CAN.. It's YES WE WILL.

HILLARY 08′

If you use a word out of "context" and apologize for it, you are humble and only human (this, Obama did)

If you repeat a story over and over, even when it is pointed out to you that it is not true, and you refuse to apoligize for it = you are a lier (this, Hillary and Bill have done).

How can this nation allow an "impeached presidential family" to return to our White House? How self-destructive can some people in this nation be? The Brits and Canadians are certainly laughing at out low IQs at work again!!!

Grow up people. Who cares about what he said she said. You people want to live better lives? Than pick the person who will do the job best. Clinton, people hate her because they say she is shifty and has no personality, she does so by making appearanes to different audiences, nothing wrong with that. If Obama becomes president he will use Clinton planning to fill a lot of the holes he has in running the country, one would think that renders Clinton usless. Wrong, there are things that you cant be taught and Obama has more to learn. Clinton would make the best president out of the three, but people are so tired of politics and all the garbage that comes with it since Bush and they are just opting to give the new guy a chance. America thats fine if its a resturant manager job but not the presidancy

hillary is making a mistake, colbert and stewart are two different animals, and he wants to leave his mark, what better chance.

plus she doesn't need the colbert bump, she needs a line, or the whole colbert 8ball.

Jean   April 15th, 2008 2:20 am ET

Hard to see how she can enjoy a Colbert bump, when Colbert's fund-raising project for Pennsylvania Schools was so greatly supported by Obama supporters. When Hillary appears, Obama's supporters wil support him all the more…which is considerably indeed. To the good steward, will more be given.

yves   April 15th, 2008 2:18 am ET

From a Canadians point of view the United States has on last kick at the cat! Should Clinton or Mccain prevail the people will get the government that they deserve……………

Rich   April 15th, 2008 2:16 am ET

I'm a big fan of both Barack Obama and Stephen Colbert, but, speaking as a Colbert supporter, it is quite frankly idiotic for any anti-war Democrat to avoid going on the Colbert Report, because the Colbert Bump has been statistically proven by real scientists as something that helps out any anti-war Democrats who appear on the show. But Hillary Clinton is still going to lose the Democratic nomination anyway. She might win Pennsylvania and 1 or 2 more states, but even if she won all the remaining states, she would have to win them all by huge margins in order to overcome Barack Obama's giant delegate lead. Even if she had a 20-point lead in Pennsylvania, this would not be enough: she needs to get at least twice as many delegates as Barack Obama, meaning at least a 30-point lead, just to stay in the race. Otherwise, Barack Obama will stay ahead in pledged delegates all the way through the end of the caucuses and primaries, and then all the undecided superdelegates will have to follow the advice of Nancy Pelosi to support the winner of pledged delegates, or else they will be punished by Nancy Pelosi and Howard Dean, perhaps with some help from Jimmy Carter and Al Gore.

AnnAlohaFairMediaPA   April 15th, 2008 2:13 am ET

Leave it to Chis Mathews and the "Other" Pro-Obama network MSNBC to spill info that his sorry self can't handle. Senator Clinton said she will no longer do interviews with him for biased pro-Obama driven attacks on her and her campaign.
Ratings have dropped for CNN and MSNBC and until they both distance themselves from this Pro-Obama media bias…it will continue to do so.

Rich   April 15th, 2008 2:06 am ET

Let's hope Colbert doesn't do what Stewart did and let her off the hook. I think he needs to show the same tanasity that he did when he hosted the white house press dinner for Bush.

sandy   April 15th, 2008 2:00 am ET

America needs to stop and think before we rush to judgment. The comments of "Bitter Gate" the media and the Clinton's are like a lynch mob. Remember that drum beat to go "Iraq war" stop and think! Obama hop on a bus and travel across Pa to find out what people were feeling. Some frustrated, bitter and not so bitter. Now is the time to find solutions, not a campaign slogan with no solutions. Hillary has deceive many on NAFTA, Bosnia sniper fire, 35 experience and it goes on. America please don't get caught up in swift boat tactics.

Thank you.

Bob   April 15th, 2008 1:59 am ET

How about this math ? Bush in Gore out. Hillary in Obama out ( Both of these are selected not elected )That means Bush presidency is equal to Hillary presidency. Do you want a third term of Bush then select Hillary. This math is for superdelegates.

Mike   April 15th, 2008 1:25 am ET

Maybe Colbert can get her to discuss her LIES …….

1st: NAFTA Flip Flop

2nd: The war in Iraq vote!

3rd: Agreeing to sign up for the rules that were stated by the DNC in respect to Florida and Mich.

4th: Destroying the Democratic Party for her win at all cost policy.

5th: Slashing and Bashing Obama and then wanting him to be her running mate.

6th: Financial handling of campaign funds spent over 100 million during Iowa campaign.

7th: Lying about Bosnia and Sniper Fire.

8th: Not taking Obama serious as a contender for President,. She thought she had it in the bag from the beginning of her campaign.

9th: South American tarde issue with Mark Penn and her huband Bill Clinton.

10th: ONE MORE BIG ONE SHE DOES NOT PAY HER BILLS FROM HER CAMPAIGN FUNDS.

The GOP and McCain will use all of this if she wins the nomination. She has made herself very, very unelectable the way I see it. She has poor judgment that is the bottom line issue for Superdelegates to examine.

Marc   April 15th, 2008 1:19 am ET

He blurted it out? Everything concerning Politics from Chris Matthews is deliberate and strategic.

He feeds off of divisive politics by putting opposites in a cage and lets them tear at each other. If they aren't complying he tears at his guests until they fight back.

He was doing his job.

I look forward to seeing what Hillary has to say on Colbert.

How come Barack doesn't want to be on there and sends his wife instead seems to me a bad move.

Most of your shows are geared for Sen. Clinton to win this Democratic nomination and it is getting very frustrating to watch. Every thing that Obama does is illuminated so brightly and its because it would not be popular for him to win. Mark my words if it is meant for him to win there is nothing that anyone can do to stop it. I believe God is in this plan and a lot of church's are praying for him.

IT IS CRYSTAL CLEAR THAT HILLARY CLINTON SHOULD BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. SHE HAS PROVEN HERSELF TIME AND TIME AGAIN TO ALL PEOPLES AS THE CANIDATE THAT WOULD BE THE MOST BENEFICIAL TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE TO STAND UP FOR THEIR BEHALF IN ALL PHASES OF JUSTICE AND LIBERTY FOR ALL. FOR MANY, MANY YEARS SHE HAS STOOD TRUE TO THE CAUSE OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND THE COUNTRY WHICH SHE DEARLY LOVES. HER TRACK RECORD PROVES THIS BEYOND A SHADOW OF A DOUBT. SHE ABOVE ALL DESERVES TO BE THE PRESIDENT, AS SHE WILL FIGHT FOR THE COMMON GOOD OF ALL PEOPLE.

Mike   April 15th, 2008 12:50 am ET

Senator Clinton has a good sense of humor, she knows how to be a real person; laugh, joke and do a shot of whiskey with the real folk.

NObama is a pompous wannabe.

Go Hillary!!!!!!!!

Senator Clinton will not walk, she will run away with the Pennsylvania vote, for Pennsylvania, like New Jersey is about "real people."

…Oh, and to heck with any NObama respondents who call her phoney.

Harry Moyer   April 15th, 2008 12:44 am ET

Obama doesn't need more money at this time. He needs to do what works, and that's getting out there, in person, amongst the populous everyday before the 22nd. It's been proven that the more Barack personally mingles with voters, the more people he sways to his campaign. For the most part Colbert reaches younger voters who Obama already has the most of. I will look forward to seeing Michelle on the show. A very impressive gal.

The real question for me is why Hillary refuses to do a college tour show with Chris Matthews as both Barack an McCain have done. Actually the reason is obvious. Hardball is exactly that, "HARDBALL". Hillary doesn't do shows that won't agree that certain subjects are off limits.

D   April 15th, 2008 12:43 am ET

Hillary has lied more than once about Bosnia and the American people seem to think it is okay to lie. Lying is worst than phrasing one's words the wrong way such as Obama has done. In my opinion, once a lier always a lier. She never apologized for lying about the Bosnia trip and all she could say was I made a mistake, not I am sorry for lying. There is no such thing as a white lie. A lie is a lie. CNN is it okay to lie and why is it that this is not a big deal. I have become very frustarted and have a bitter taste when she begins to speak because I don't believe what she says.

pot calling kettle black...   April 15th, 2008 12:39 am ET

I know this comment won't get posted, but I'll write it anyway…

There seems to be a lot of anger on both sides of the Democratic race. I hate to be negative and fan the flames, but I can't help but notice that a lot of Clinton supporters who make posts here remind me of Clinton–arrogant, condescending, proud, unyielding, negative, insulting, and constantly making very disparaging comments against Obama and his supporters. None of that is spectacular news, I suppose. But what is curious to me is the quality and kind of the accusations and statements that they make about him. They accuse Obama of being negative, arrogant, elitist, angry, out-of-touch, double-speaking, conniving, two-faced, lying, and generally dishonest. I just have to say, if that isn't the pot calling the kettle black, I don't know what is. I think it's a case of being incredibly and impulsively defensive, like when someone calls you a name, for example, saying you're an idiot, and you instinctively blurt out in return, "no, you're an idiot!" It's a knee-jerk reaction that isn't based on any evidence, only emotion.

The fact is, Obama is a self-made middle-aged man who cares about making a difference and has realized he has strengths he can use to make a meaningful contribution to society. He isn't perfect, but he isn't a monster either.

He has made some mistakes, been dishonest from time to time, let greed and vanity and other vices influence him from time to time. But he also seems to demonstrate a tendency to recognize he has erred, a genuine desire to get back on track, and a general sense of decency and morality. He doesn't seem to have numerous hidden agendas but rather is relatively transparent (for a politician). I think that Clinton, on the other hand, has a long track record of utilizing palm-greasing, back-door deals, law-dodging, official incriminatory records destroying, coattails-riding, embellished storytelling, and numerous other much less-than-honest (and even highly illegal) means to get what she wants or thinks she deserves. I think she has been planning to be President since she was a girl, and has been lining up all her ducks in a row for so many years, preparing, that she honestly thinks she deserves it, whether the majority of America agrees with her or not. It might be the one honest thing about her, because she is not an honest person, as we are seeing. McCain is much more honest than she.

Lame humor   April 15th, 2008 12:37 am ET

Hiliary on the Colbert show! Her presidential bid has now become a joke itself! Never has anyone displayed such ruthless ambition as the Clinton family has. The rules of the game were delgates not popular votes, not electibility, not electoral college, not large states, or the daily alternative they have proposed to justify their campaign. There is no way Hillary can lead on the delgate count but she will not concede, she is doing harm to the Obama and in turn to the Democatic party.

Time for Colbert to ask her about, the rights of sexually abused women; the honest truth about her role in the NAFTA; why her health plans failed; how is it that she made 107m; who are the main backers of the Clinton library; howcome Bill Clinton got a million dollars from the Columbian trade groups; the truth about her ever being under sniper fire; and so on. She does not a a single honest bone in her body.

So who is the joke really on - the American people!

Mario from Florida (COUNT MY VOTE)   April 15th, 2008 12:35 am ET

Why would anyone want Michelle Obama on their show? Can't wait to see what trips out of her mouth this time. What an ogre she is!

ObamaBitterAnalyses   April 15th, 2008 12:22 am ET

Let's break Obama's Dean moment [if not Dean then very close and counting] down.

Obama: "You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them [PA is doing better than many parts of the country]. And they fell through the Clinton Administration [prosperous time], and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate [to stimulate or grow] and they have not [baseline measurement or benchmark missing]."

"And it's not surprising then they get bitter [to be jaded or cynical], they cling [to clutch or grip tightly] to guns or religion or antipathy [to feel hatred or have ill feelings against] to people who aren't like them [insinuating an offensive term that deliberately insults somebody's rural residence or background and his or her intelligence and level of sophistication] or anti-immigrant sentiment [dislike of immigrants and foreigner persons] or anti-trade sentiment [opposed to NAFTA and overseas trade] as a way to explain [to justify] their frustrations."

In conclusion, Obama is TOAST [to be done, finished or complete]!

Here's the formula:

Michelle's "first time" + the Reverend Wright controversy + Rezko questions + Obama's "bitter statement" = Americans singing Obama's refrain back to him, "Not this time, not this time, not this time" and his losing the nomination.

If super delegates continue to jump to Obama's side before democracy plays out naturally and/or if people are slipped more much Obama Kool-Aid then the chorus will be delayed but only until the general election.

OBAMA

From Dreams Of My Father;

After graduating from college, Obama eventually went to Chicago to interview for a job as a community organizer. His racial attitudes came into play as he sized up the man who would become his boss. “There was something about him that made me wary,” Obama wrote. “A little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.”

Nomama Obama   April 14th, 2008 11:47 pm ET

OBAMA

“As I’ve said about the flag pin, I don’t want to be perceived as taking sides,” Obama said. “There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song ‘I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing.’ If that were our anthem, then I might salute it.”

Racist comment:

"The natural reminder here is O.J. (Simpson), how does an African
American candidate attack a white woman?"

Kevin M   April 14th, 2008 11:46 pm ET

Why would Clinton need Colbert? Her attacks on Obama especially her latest ad should be enough. Clinton has the courage to lead. I was proud of her courage and leadership in Bosnia. Hillary has the experience and honesty I'm looking for. I was impressed with her opening borders in Macedonia and bringing peace to N. Ireland. Hillary is my hero.

Yes we can! Obama 2008!

Mia   April 14th, 2008 11:46 pm ET

Now all Hillary needs is another SNL episode to boost her campaign. Not going to happen this time.

honkey white guy from cali   April 14th, 2008 11:44 pm ET

Oh her she goes again time to make more jokes. I just hope she try's to pick her self up a little out of the gutter I do have enough hope even for her

Nomama Obama   April 14th, 2008 11:43 pm ET

Michelle Obama's thesis … is unavailable until Nov. 5, 2008, at the Princeton library.
(not until after nomination, wonder why?)

"There was no doubt in my mind that as a member of the black community, I am obligated to this community and will utilize all of my present and future resources to benefit the black community first and foremost."

leon PA   April 14th, 2008 11:43 pm ET

Tell me why.

Ralph M   April 14th, 2008 11:43 pm ET

It is typical Obama. Does not want to join anything that might shed light on his shortcomings, even in a comedy situation. You hear him talk and he acts as if he is above everyone. He gives different explaination of what he says and everyone accepts that as truth. CNN should maybe treat him as the other candidates. He is getting special treatment. Wake up America!

Vig   April 14th, 2008 11:42 pm ET

Obama seems like a humorless wonk

Freddy   April 14th, 2008 11:40 pm ET

Dont for get the Clintons are bought and paid for for NAFTA Pennsylvania. NAFTA was their big prize to the US And they are still proud of it.

OBAMA

From Dreams Of My Father;

“I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I
began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites”

Nomama Obama   April 14th, 2008 11:37 pm ET

OBAMA

From Dreams Of My Father;

Obama’s racial suspicions were not always limited to whites. For example, after making his first visit to Kenya, he wrote of being disappointed to learn that his paternal grandfather had been a servant to rich whites. He wrote in “Dreams” that the revelation caused “ugly words to flash across my mind. Uncle Tom. Collaborator. House n_gger.”

Jesse   April 14th, 2008 11:36 pm ET

Obama is not up man in enough to go on Colbert? Oh thats right, he doesn't do well if it's not a scripted speech witten.

I guess Hillary is more of a Man to take on Colbert.

Nomama Obama   April 14th, 2008 11:35 pm ET

OBAMA

From Dreams Of My Father;

“THAT HATE HADN’T GONE AWAY,” he wrote, BLAMING WHITE PEOPLE,- SOME CRUEL, SOME IGNORANT, sometimes a single face, sometimes just a faceless image of a system claiming power over our lives.”

OBAMA

From Dreams Of My Father;

“The emotion between the races could never

“To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more
politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist
professors and structural feminists.”

I get Hill's strategy. First land a hard punch, then go on a bunch of talk shows. Hate her, will never vote for her, period. Obama is a good man, you keep on message.

OBAMA

From Dreams Of My Father;

“I learned to slip back and forth between my black and white worlds,” he wrote in
“Dreams.” “One of those tricks I had learned: People were satisfied so long as you were
courteous and smiled and made no sudden moves. They were more than satisfied; they were
relieved — such a pleasant surprise to find a well-mannered young black man who didn't
seem angry all the time.”

female grad student NYC   April 14th, 2008 11:31 pm ET

while both candidates have been on the offensive as the PA date approaches, it's good to see that Sen. Clinton keeps her sense of humor and is still able to 'roast' herself. self-deprecating humor always wins with me.

the colbert report is great. I wonder why Obama is declining - maybe he's too ELITIST :)

marcus   April 14th, 2008 11:30 pm ET

this guy colbert is an idiot, i watched him on larry king and he doesn't make sense, even larry had to wait a minute or two to decide wether he was funny or not, i really don't find him amusing, he is a geek, had this man ran for president. i would rather have Pee wee herman for president!

MCD   April 14th, 2008 11:24 pm ET

I wonder why he won't do it, Colbert is a great supporter of his.

Daniels   April 14th, 2008 11:23 pm ET

I would like to meet a person who has lost their job do to oversea trade that isn't bitter. I would like to go to a town that has lost most of it manufacting jobs , and state and local revenues to overseas companies that isn't bitter? because I'm bitter that some of our nations big businesses claim they can't find Americans to work or have the required experenice!!!! Hillary you are a Joke this platform will do you some good. Drop out already.

PA voters will not be fooled like our neighbors in OH.

The Joke is you Elitist, liying, will do anything to get elected filthy rich politician.

Peter Damoah-Afari   April 14th, 2008 11:22 pm ET

Who cares…….she can appear there. Obama has other things to fix regarding the problems facing an average American.

Bayou Joe   April 14th, 2008 11:20 pm ET

You Obama supporters are a sorry lot. If everything you say is bad in the United States. You have one option…Leave…. The last time I checked the border fence was not finished. Maybe then we will have
a country that believes in the work ethic, freedom for all people regardless of race, and a Christian nation as our forefathers envisioned.
There are other countries that have socialzed medicine, worship other gods, and are not at war. They will allow you to move there but you have to live just as they do and don't cause any waves, because a prison awaits you when you do speak out about how bad things are.

Eric-Illinois   April 14th, 2008 11:19 pm ET

Of course Obama wont go on the show. Colbert would cut right through that snide. He'll be tough on Clinton too but at least she has the moxy to put herself in the position. The great communicator will send his wife to take the risk. Sad to watch this man destroy the Democratic Party. He could have waited, gained some experience and learned how not to shove his foot in his mouth and then run for President…but oh no….He is so important the world is calling calling for him now. His blind ambition is breathtaking. The wiftboaters will eat him up and spit him out. Then we will see Obama's arm around Pastor Wright again….as Obama cries….race..race…race. Sad.

Jack   April 14th, 2008 11:18 pm ET

Colbert is going to shred this woman. She should rewatch the Correspondent's Dinner with him as the headliner for a taste of what she's in for. He's got a keen BS detector and a great big club that he uses when it goes off, so this will be good….

Sam   April 14th, 2008 11:17 pm ET

Hillary - Thanks for continuing to stay in the race. Please give America a choice on election day! Obama "Bitter" Barack is not the one to represent the USA.!!!!!

Edward Arthur   April 14th, 2008 11:17 pm ET

I guess Obama is too cool for school now…

Barb Canada   April 14th, 2008 11:16 pm ET

I've been hoping for this for months gotta love Hillary, true bravery!

PA for Obama   April 14th, 2008 11:16 pm ET

It is funny as to how Hillary looks up to Colbert report and other comedy venues right before an election. She is indeniably shamless.

Obama is dignified and honest to be our President.

clinton now obama   April 14th, 2008 11:12 pm ET

WINNING AT ANY COST RIGHT HILLARY. YOUR ANTICS ARE REPULSIVE AND SOOOO UNBECOMING A PRESIDENT. YOU WILL STOOP TO ANY LEVEL. OBAMA HAS TAKEN EVER SINK, TOILET AND DOOR YOU HAVE THROWN AT HIM HEAD ON, HE HAS EXHIBITED TRUE LEADERSHIP DURING THESE TOUGH TIMES. A LOT OF MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY ARE NOW OBAMA SUPPORTERS AND WE PLAN TO WORK HARD IN PA FOR THE ELECTION.

Franky   April 14th, 2008 11:12 pm ET

She hangs out with Stephen but not with Larry??? I mean, I too would like to chill with Stephen but she doesn't wanna chill with Larry???

Hmmm, on the other hand, she is trying to win big….. at least is with Stephen…..sorry Stephen my boy did not attend…

An American in Canada   April 14th, 2008 11:12 pm ET

HILLARY HAS A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR THAT IS WHY SHE APPEARS ON SHOW LIKE COLBERT AND SNL…

OBAMA SAYS NO TO COLBERT AND SENDS HIS WIFE MICHELLE

BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW IT IS MICHELLE THAT IS THE CLOSER,

OBAMA IS THE WEAKLING IN THE FAMILY.

POOR POOR BABY OBAMA

HUSH HUSH BABY OBAMA
YOU WILL BE SENT HOME SOON!

David   April 14th, 2008 11:11 pm ET

I thought he only gave the bump to Republicans?

Katrina in Texas   April 14th, 2008 11:06 pm ET

She sucks! I can't wait until this is over and she is no longer spreading her lies and saying terrible, shameful things about Obama.

I am a fan of Colbert but I have to say that I won't be watching that night. I can't stand to listen to her anymore. She is an insult to my intelligence!

Susan MO   April 14th, 2008 11:04 pm ET

For Hillary Clinton.

Shame on Obama for insulting the people of Pennsylvania, and then 'making light of it'. That's like laughing at the Pennsylvania people. How rude.

We thought about Obama at first, but NOT NOW. We do not need a president who slams the people.

Now For Hillary Clinton.

Dan J   April 14th, 2008 11:02 pm ET

That is EXACLTY what Clinton needs. She is widely known to be a very funny, likable person off-the-cuff (surprise to Obama supporters?), and her campaign had previously never allowed her to showcase herself.

Hopefully it will resonate, and people can get to know the real Hillary, because unless they've developed an extreme bias towards her, they will end up really liking her. I can almost guarantee it.

Tom,des moines   April 14th, 2008 11:01 pm ET

I think is going to be fun for Hillary and her fans. Go Hillary!
