WASHINGTON (CNN) - The battle over the word "bitter" between Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton has sparked a new look at the candidates and their stance on the Second Amendment.
At a closed-door fundraiser just over a week ago, the Illinois senator referred to some small-town Pennsylvanians as "bitter" people who "cling to guns and religion."
"I didn't say it as well as I should have," Obama admitted in Muncie, Indiana, on Saturday, the day after he first defended his comments, "because the truth is that these traditions that are passed on from generation to generation - those are important."
I just lost a hero in Chalston Heston and like hime you can have my gu when you pry it from my cold dead fingers. We have the right to bear arms and we the majority of americans will die to hold that God given right to defend ourselves. The constitution say7s when the gov. is corrupt then take it back-it blongs to the people not the rich
Next, we will have an investigation and a week of blogs and news stories about the fact that he said his girls can get a dog after the campaign. "WHAT ABOUT CATS,?" Hillary will say. I think we need to tell the Super Delegates about this. He is leaving out half of the United States pet population. They are offended. Off with his head!
He represents a state that is one of the poorest in the Country at respecting Second Ammendment rights. He has one of the most liberal (read anti-firearm rights) voting records in the senate. This should be a real flag to the millions of law-abiding firearm owners who would concievably vote this fellow. I think he's showing his true colors here when he comes to this very important point.
Obama defended himself sticking so close to a hate-filled racist church. He lied and changed his story so many times about it. And now, we should sit here and take criticism about our religion from him?
Obama go back and figure yourself out before you cast judgment on us.
"Out of touch" and "elitist"? Please. Is that how you describe someone who spent most of his younger adult life pounding the pavement in run-down neighborhoods, working in churches and neighborhood barbershops, organizing mothers and fathers and laid-off workers all to help people reclaim their dreams? That's about as down-to-earth and connected as any of us have ever seen in a Presidential candidate.
obama is finding out america's true colors, if he said everything was right with the world and we all love each other regardless of our skin color people would fault him for being unrealistic, if he says something negative everyone is up in arms over it, if these same people think john mcgoo, or billary were any better they have another thought coming, obama speaks the truth and sometime the truth hurts, i rather be told the truth than to be lied too. and we haven't had nothing but lies from the gop. the last thing obama is, is an eletis
Don't worry, no one's going to take your guns away. It's called a "wedge issue" to divert your attention away from the important topics. However, I think it might help your spelling to put the gun down while your typing.
Wayne – I'd like to apologize for people who can't read.
See, Wayne copy/pasted someone else's comment, made it bold, and then put his own words (non-bold) underneath it. You got a problem with that, you comment to Christian... the one he was copy/pasting from.
Read first, please.
So now Hillary is (conveniently) a beer guzzlin' gun toten' Republican in order to appeal to the folks she has despised for decades. I wonder how much huntin' with us regular folk she does up in that little pocket of poverty called Chappaqua, NY? Maybe the huntin' is limited to huntin' up minorities to clean the house and do the landscaping. So who's the elitist?
Okay, let see if Americans are really bitter, what Obama is going to do about it?
He has a few years in the senate, what has he done during those years? The only thing he can brag about is voting against the war!!
What else?! Did he do anything about the economy? about the housing crisis? about the energy crisis? about the healthcare crisis?
Show me some evidence!!
43 year old white man!! you had a VISION.
I also had a vision.... i heard a voice from heaven saying: – Because Clinton have falsely accused Obama... i will give Obama these Horses. 6 horses and 6 big white trays were given to Obama. And clintons trays..dissolved to ashes. Meaning Obama ended up with more count of horses and trays.
I believe the forces of this world are with Obama. So everyday i watch ameircan politics..to see what happens
I can't believe that wtth young men and women dying on a daily basis in Iraq, people throughout the US being bankrupted and made homeless, crime on the rise and every other awful and unacceptable thing going on in the country, people are reduced to fighting over the use of a word!! "Let he/she who is has never erred cast the first stone." ( I took a liberty with that phrase) It doesn;t matter if Clinton, Mc Cain or Obama is the next President, unless the American people change nothing else will. This attitude of "If I don;t get my own way, I'm taking my toys and going home" is what's holding the country back..
Whoever wins....get behind them and work to make sure they do what they promised and hold them accountable if they don't. YOU are America, NOT the politicians. Learn from the fact that NO ONE held George Bush accountable and take YOUR responsibility seriously. United we stand, divided we fall.
It's funny how every time Obama makes a bad judgement he turn it around to Hillary, yet when Hillary spoke about MLK and LBJ Obama acted like he was so hurt about the fact that Hillary could say that LBJ signed the civil rights bill into law which was true of course. How terrible of Hillary to say such a thing. Then his campaign spinned Hillary's LBJ comment into a racist comment. Some Uniter.
