The government and media wants to keep our minds occupied with fear and fruit mousse. We have people dying in Iraq and we are in a DEPRESSION, and we get silly things like this on continuous feeds. When the heck will people wake up? We need to get off our rear ends and start a revolution and take back this country--if it is not already too late.

Our choices for president are poor but I say anyone but a warmonger with PTSD. If we think Bush was bad...

I bought a handful of groceries today for $86. I have to spend $65 to fill up my tank because I can not afford to sell my 1999 Dodge and buy a smaller car.

We are retired and can't afford insurance (we are healthy because we have been vegetarians for 28 years) and so far have not needed medical care. If we get sick we will lose everything we have.

This once fine county of ours is a disgrace. I am not even proud to be an American any longer.

I don't like any of the candidates but Bill Clinton knows how to talk to other countries. For that reason alone Hillary may be our only hope.

I don't know who in their right minds would want to take over this mess. I pity both Obama and Clinton if they win. I pity us if McCain gets in.

"And the very first thing McCain wants to do is make the Tax Breaks for the Rich Permanant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "

I'm not rich, and I remember benefiting from those tax cuts. And I will be hurt financially (and so will you) if the tax cuts lapse and we end up with what is effectively a tax increase. Not to mention the adverse effect this would have on a struggling economy.

Stop believing all the Democratic Party propoganda you read and hear on TV. The top 1% of American taxpayers pay about two-thirds of the income taxes, so it's pretty hard to have any meaningful income tax cut and not have them get the lion's share in absolute dollar terms, which is what our Democratic Party friends always recite (and truthfully so, although very misleading.) They never bother to tell anyone how big everyone's Bush tax cut was in terms of percentage of their income. If they did they would have to tell you that middle income Americans received a larger percentage of their income back than the wealthy. The result of that tax cut was a 3% increase in the share of income taxes that the top 1% pay; from 64% to 67%. But, of course, they don't want to tell you that.

The good of the party always comes before the truth.

I was very entertained while reading many of the comments which were posted earlier. I have gained an impression that most of the people posting replies to this story lack an education and therefore have the time to type thier animated and far fetched opinions. The mistake discussed in the story is petty and should be tossed to the side especially since proper steps had already been taken to solve the potential problem. Anyone who concerns him or herself with this issue and would allow it to determine a negative perception of Mr. McCain and his wife are truly bias and ignorant individuals. I understand that there are those of you who favor one candidate over another but the deciding factors of the candidate for which an individual should base his or her stand should be focused on the real issues that affect his or her interests in the most direct way. CNN, like many other news sources, has a built in bias in the storys the agency chooses to write about.

And Obama is out of touch? She's in la-la land posting recipes when Obama is speaking the truth. People are freakin' bitter! I'm bitter! Bush has screwed things up and has been dry-thumbing the average worker for the last eight years! Someone needs to speak out!

First, Ms. McCain cannot produce her own recipes so an intern has to copy them. Next, Ms. Clinton as first lady condems baking cookies. If this is not elitism, I do not know what is.

Is this even news?

How about a story about how McCain's praying for Hillary to be his opponent, because he could steamroller her a lot easier than he could Obama? That's been a frequent headline on other sites.

I am forced to write a comment because of deception by the Media
against Sen.Obama,I also have something to say about Hillary Clinton.First,I don't understand why the Media only played small parts of Rev.Wright's sermon about chicken's coming home to roost. If you all were interested in printing the truth, you would realize that if you played that tape for only five minutes you would see that the Reverend
was quoting a white man.No, you won't do that because you all won't be able to criticize Sen. Obama.I realize that Sen.Clinton has actually
developed a hatred for Sen.Obama,no matter how often she will deny
it . Danny, Richmond,Va.

Sounds interesting. It's nice to see something about a candidate and their life. I'll be interested in seeing what Bill Clinton would say and would Michelle Obama's maid would say on their favorite recipes. Then again, I don't know if Michelle's maid is allowed to speak; most elitists control what their servants say.

Looking forward to a Clinton - McCain election.

Ilona Proud Canadian for Obama

We get your message loud and clear!

Now… "PLEASEGO TAKE A LOOK IN THE MIRROR" You just might be surprised at what you see looking back at you. Good Luck

Ths is an Interesting attempt at stereotyping!!! Well the fact of the matter is that Obama has not addressed the question of why he continues to support a RACIST Minister and makes elitist derogatory comments on folks to whom he does not relate. This shows lack of good judgement. even when he placed this Racist Minister on his Campaign team and he knew very well Wright's position with respect to whites, Italians Jews, catholics and any other race or religion. And because of this, his support of this man, speaks to the issue of a lacking in credibility.

People who vote should not select FOR or AGAINST a candidate because of their religion, sexual preference, race, national origin, gender, economic condition, AGE or any other such differentiator. They should place their votes based on objective analysis and not because it seems to be the "in" thing (like a lot of white pseudo- educated elistist)

Make him explain this over and over and over. Every day, every night, just like if Hillary had done this. Explain that it means he's a liar who hates freedom and loves al-Qaeda, just as if he were Hillary.

Heck, it's only "fair."

Please let this be the best that the Democrats can do this year. I get all my recipes out of books or off the internet. Who doesn't?

If McCain's worst sin is recipes, then he should have no problem in November against Obama's pastor, friend Tony Rezko, and out of touch comments about poor people "clinging to guns and religion." That's not to mention all of Clinton's craziness.

This is amusing for so many reasons, but I am having a great time imagining what kind of doofus came up with these PARTICULAR recipes to showcase as Cindy McCain's heirlooms. They look more like knee-jerk, bleeding heart, elitist liberal recipes to me, and I oughta know! This has brought some needed comic relief.

Who cares about the recipes. I care about the food that goes on the table and how to get the money to put it there.

Makes you wonder, McCain and Clinton both seem to have the same theme against Obama. Word twists are their only ploy. Take a sentence out of context and make into something it was not. At least Obama did not claim to land in Bosnia under gunfire or think we need to be in Iraq for 100 years like Hilary and John said.

We are going broke and McCain and Clinton have helped send steel, auto, rubber, electronics and other good paying jobs overseas and replace them with Walmart jobs.

I do not see this ending until Washington is cleansed.

I was not for Obama but since the McCains and the Clintons are against him then count me for him. Obama 08, a new convert.

instead of talking about foolish items like this why don't we discuss the abcnews.com story about John Mccain not supporing the expansion of the GI Bill becauase it would give current soldiers to much incentive to leave the millitary! Talk about elitist. So much for MCcain "supporting" the millitary members that he thinks may remain in Iraq for 100 years.

Hillary can't even beat Obama OR Edwards in your state Iowa.

How the heck do you actually think she has any chance against Obama, let alone McCain?

You had your chance to vote HRC, and your fellow Iowans drowned out your losing voice.

WHO CARES ABOUT HOW CINDY McCAIN'S FISH TASTES???

I want to know to how John McCain plans to end the war in Iraq! Oh yeah, he doesn't plan to end the war.

My bad.

VOTE OBAMA!

(And, I am amazed that Cindy McCain even knows how to cook. I thought Stepford wives were much less capable robots than that. Again, my bad. Of course, since they are copying recipes, maybe she CANNOT actually cook.)

i love Obama. I don't care what you all come up with to slander
his name. It don't matter to most Americans when they listen
to the Republicans and Hillary and Bill. The White House on the
Hill will not be for Bill and Hill.

Slander his name all you want in all the upcoming smear ads.
I will stand for a man that knows the word, "bitter" a word that
is insulting for the rich and the elitists of our rotting government.
The elitists are what made it so. McCain voted against the Gi
Bill so that the Soldiers will be forced to re-enlist because there
are no jobs for them otherwise. And Hillary is a Republican calling
herself a Democrat. No Please, Not Hillary or McTrickster!!!!

My American People,

Regardless of your polical stance, if yopu have educated yourself on the candidates you will see that MCCAIN is a death sentence for Americans and our furture.

I have yet to hear his plans (besides keeping our troops in Iraq for the next 100 years) on the serious issues that we are currently facing.

Yet, he has recipes on his website to share with us. Talk about "Out of Touch". If American are losing their homes and jobs, just how are they going to buy the ingredients??? and are they suppose to cook this meal.

THis man is NO GOOD for America!!!

Obama 08 "Yes We Can"

Wow! I thought plagarism was against the law. Why aren't there charges? If you were in school, you would be expelled for something like this. Oh well, this is America and its not about what you know but who you know. Right Hillary? Since the rich are entitled to the presidency, I guess it does not matter if they do something wrong. It only matters if you are black and tell the truth about what is really going on in America. We would rather be in our own little corner pretending there is nothing wrong than we would deal with the issues that are really facing our country like racism.

I'm glad to see many Democrats posting on this article and saying how ludicrous this whole story is. Who cares anyway?
Had this article been about actual issues that people care about I would be a little more apt to take it seriously. But recipes?
I actually was thinking I'd see many Democrats posting about how McCain can't be trusted because his website apparently has recipes that are not original.
So if they posted a recipe for mashed potatoes would someone have a gripe? Everyone likes to think they own things when in fact I'm sure every single recipe out there was created by many other people, many times over, and nobody is truly the owner.

Let's get back to the bickering in the Democratic party now. At least that is fun to watch.

Ok, so she steals her ideas from the Food Network / Rachel Ray and McCain steals his policies from Bush.

Between the two of them, can't someone come up with an original idea?

It's the phony baloney thing. These were supposed to be family recipes. I mean if the lords of the media are brown nosing McCain with donuts and coffee they should at least have the decency to ask him about his favorite recipes. If you are what you eat - he's phony inside and out.

McCain obviously needs to keep an eye on the interns. So does Obama. As for the Clintons, I think it best if the potential First Husband is kept as far away from the interns as possible, due to his "hands on" management style.

While HIllary was duck hunting in cold water, Bill was chick hunting, which got him into hot water....

Will John McCain ever answer the questions that the American people want to hear? He has never said how he will pay for a long war in Iraq, is he for embryonic stem cell research that the right wing is against, who will his healthcare cover, why does he want permanent tax brakes for the rich after he said he was against them ( flip flop). If the press are all in the pocket of the Fox Phonies with all of nonsense that they cover, then who do we the public turn to inorder to get the real answers? If McCain is elected as president we will all be cooked!

I really don't appreciate the coverage of recipe-gate. What issue does this address? I don't watch the news to be entertained - I want to be informed. A better topic than Cindy's recipe-stealing is the fact that John McCain is claiming he'll cut gasoline taxes this summer and offer relief to homeowners going into foreclosure in 2008 when the election isn't until NOVEMBER. Did Bush simply appoint him as the next president - and why is the media letting him get away with such obviously hypocrisy of selling the country a plan that cannot be implemented (as he accuses the democrats of doing)? Incredible what CNN thinks is relevant!!! Incredible that he thinks he's president already.

This just in:

Home foreclosures up 57%;

Gas prices reach record highs;

Food inflation soaring;

Oh yeah, and the war in Iraq goes on and on and on.

We now return you to your regular daily dose of mainstream media fluff and nonsense that they like to call "news."

It amazes me that you have to attend college to practice in this field.

Why do campaigns try BS like this when they know they will get caught, look stupid, and spend a lot of time explaining and spinning it away?

More importantly, why would Sen. John McCain, POW and red-blooded American, want us to think he is eating "ahi tuna with napa cabbage slaw"? or "farfalle pasta with turkey sausage, peas and mushrooms"?

I think it would be fun to put a plate of this crap in front of McCain and make him eat it with the cameras rolling as punishment for trying to put one over on us. Next time, maybe McCain will give us recipes for his favorite marinated steak, or BBQ ribs - something he actually eats and that Joe Sixpack can identify with.
