Obama dons flag pin once again

CNN

Watch Sen. Obama in Washington, Pennsylvania Tuesday.

WASHINGTON, Pennsylvania (CNN) –- For the first time since a mini dust-up back in October, Democrat Barack Obama wore an American flag pin Tuesday at a town hall meeting with veterans in Pennsylvania.

But he didn't show up wearing the pin–instead, a Vietnam era veteran presented it to him on the ropeline as Obama made his way to the podium at the start of the event.

"I was just handed this," Obama said. "It's a flag pin. I think I'll go ahead and put that on."

He then did just that.

"I appreciate your service," Obama told Philip Fiumara, Jr., a Vietnam era veteran and undecided voter, according to the campaign.

"Thank you so much. It means a lot coming from you, and we are grateful to you."

This is the first time Obama has worn a flag pin on his lapel since it was widely reported last fall that he had stopped wearing one.

At the time, Obama said, "My attitude is that I'm less concerned with what you're wearing on you lapel than what's in your heart. You show your patriotism by how you treat your fellow Americans, especially those ones who serve."

Frankly I don't care if Senator Obama ever wears a flag pin, this is just to stupid to buy into. Most of us don't have flag pins or flags swaying from our car windows either. We ARE American's period, we don't need to advertise that fact and those who do are no more patriotic than the rest of us.

Obama is a true patriot. He is someone who feels in his heart the pain that the average Americans feel. It takes a real patriot to turn down a corporate job and go back to the crumbling streets of Chicago to help the poor get back on their feet.

CNN...the big propaganda machine for Barack Hussein Obama...pretty sad. CNN will make up phoney poll numbers to show Obama in the lead even in the middle of his controversies. So lame.

I suppose if Barack Hussein Obama shot and killed someone, CNN would show this bum leading somewhere by 20 points !! CNN...your
    pattern is pretty predictable.

At last count, Hillary Clinton was leading in all the remaining primaries by 10 points over Barack Hussein Obama...please print this because its true.

And as for the flag pin. Its a little too late to pander to small town America now Barack. This guy just refuses to admit when he makes a mistake and he will never apologize. Pretty pathetic.

OBAMA – you just got my vote! What an honest and true comment! That's right – you show your patriotism by actions NOT words. The fact that you are sacrificing your family to try to help Americans in these – the most trying times facing America – even standing by all the vicious attacks against you by the "status quo" politicians definately shows your patriotism and love for America.

What is wrong with the press.

Our planet is on a boil, the income disparities are on the rise, a communist nation holds trillions of Dollars in IOUs, there is rise of religious fundamentalism, our schools need help, research projects are being shut down, our flagship companies are being sold out, our enemies in middle east and Russia are benefiting from the $113 a barrel oil, there is looming social security crisis and medicare catastrophe and all we focus is whether Obama wears a flag on his lapel! People can be nationalist with or without lapel pins!

    This is unreal!!

What a sincere, honest man. In perfect concert with his words, he puts it on because he already knows what service veterans give.

I would be honored–honored–to have Barack Obama as my president–a candidate who knows that words matter, but only when they are backed up by courage, honesty, integrity, consistency, and action.

BUSH WAS UNREADY FOR THE PRESIDENCY.

BARACK AND MICHELLE ARE UNREADY FOR THE WHITE HOUSE.

CILNTON AND MCCAIN ARE THE ONES MOST QUALIFIED FOR THE PRESIDENCY...NO RHETORIC. JUST GOOD ALL AMERICAN
    UNQUESTIONABLE EXPERIENCE AND PATRIOTISM ROOTED
IN THEIR BELIEFS IN OUR COUNTRY'S STRENGTH AND THE RESILIENCE OF OUR PEOPLE EVEN IN THE MOST DIFFICULT TIMES AS THE PRESENT. NO BITTERNESS , NO TURNING TO GUNS OR RELIGION BECAUSE OF ADVERSITY. IT IS JUST THE AMERICAN WAY. WE GO TO CHURCH IN GOOD AND BAD TIMES
WE HAVE GUNS IN OUR HOMES FOR SPORT AND PROTECTION.

He is exactly right. A flag pin does not prove you are patriotic. It is proved by the way you respect Americans and your country. I think it's ridiculous that this is even an issue in the primary race.

google REZKO...So Auchi –friend of Saddam, international fraudster, and business partner to one of Chicago’s premiere fixers– gave Rezko the money that allowed Obama to purchase his house. Without the loan, Rezko would not have been able to afford the $125,000 downpayment on the lot and Obama would not have been able to meet the terms set by the sellers.

Sen Obama, what was in your heart when you sat with Rev Wright for 20 years ?

Did those sound clips sound "BITTER" to you ?

Good call, putting on the flag pin, Barack. Did you call the veteran bitter and say he was clinging to his guns and religion or are you beginning to learn how to conduct yourself as an employee of the people?

I could not believe the faith forum crap. Hillary gets asked why a just God allows suffering, a question that philosophers and theologians have been trying to answer for centuries and Obama gets asked if he thinks torture is wrong...duh!!! Anyone else notice that Campbell Brown gave BO a advance notice on a question before a commercial break so he had time to think about it, while Hillary had to answer the question immediately on the spur of the cuff. How can CNN claim to be objective? I thought Ms. Brown was fawning over BO and said thanks sport to Hillary. She was disrespectful to Hillary IMHO and practically looked like she was going to offer to sleep with Obama after the forum. I am an atheist so I don't like the current trend in religion being forced on us in the public sphere. They were trying to act like it was an impartial forum, but it was a majority of evangelicals asking the questions, with a token muslim. I resent the fact that no atheist, agnostic or humanist was allowed into the so called forums inner circle. Evangelicals always talk about how perseceuted they are, and yet whenever they get the chance they always shut out everyone else. Just look at Bush's faith based initiative program, it's 90% evangelical. I am so tired of their trying to hijack our government, and Obama as a "devout" christian in his own words, doesn't seem to seperate in his mind his bs religion from his rhetoric.

CNN is starting to be unfair again, Mr. Wright mocked the american people and now Obama mocked the people of Pennsylvannia and the entire nation. Thsi shoudl be the headline.

He mispoke about his comments with the Pennsylvannians because he was not able to ask his advisers first because . Is this the man who is ready on day one and can not decide and said something right unless he ask this advisers first. Is Obama kidding us. His comments is very irresponsible and very degrading and should be the headline in CNN. Wake up Mr. Cooper, wake up Mr. Wolf wake up CNN.

Obam ais still gaining in polls...who are you kidding CNN. This is ridiculous. How much they paid you to get positive all the time to Obama?

So he only wore it because he is thankful for their service? How about wearing it because you are proud of your country. How about always wear one, because you are ALWAYS proud of your country? But, that might be too much to ask.
