Obama dons flag pin once again

CNN

Watch Sen. Obama in Washington, Pennsylvania Tuesday.

WASHINGTON, Pennsylvania (CNN) –- For the first time since a mini dust-up back in October, Democrat Barack Obama wore an American flag pin Tuesday at a town hall meeting with veterans in Pennsylvania.

But he didn't show up wearing the pin–instead, a Vietnam era veteran presented it to him on the ropeline as Obama made his way to the podium at the start of the event.

"I was just handed this," Obama said. "It's a flag pin. I think I'll go ahead and put that on."

He then did just that.

"I appreciate your service," Obama told Philip Fiumara, Jr., a Vietnam era veteran and undecided voter, according to the campaign.

"Thank you so much. It means a lot coming from you, and we are grateful to you."

This is the first time Obama has worn a flag pin on his lapel since it was widely reported last fall that he had stopped wearing one.

At the time, Obama said, "My attitude is that I'm less concerned with what you're wearing on you lapel than what's in your heart. You show your patriotism by how you treat your fellow Americans, especially those ones who serve."

Barack Obama, wore his pin with the American Flag, and that means"What',? John McCain, did not wear his American Flag pin, today, no one said a Word. Hillary Clinton, does not always wear her Flag Pin, so what is this, really all about? The person that looks the part, and talks the part, But does not Tell the Truth, or even Keep their Word. I am sure it is difficult for America to See Intergrity in a person, and respect it, because most of the You are in a COMMA!

"When in Rome, be like Rome."
For us who served, patriotism is part of who we are. Wear the American flag proudly.

I love this country. I love to see old glory flying in the wind while the national anthem is being played. It makes me proud to be a true patriot of our great country.
I want a commander in chief who will wear our flag pins with pride and true patriotism. One who will pay respect to our national anthem with a political explanation why it shouldn't be done.

There is nothing to explain, "America, land of the free and the home of the brave." She has given so much to the world, yet she is scorned and called evil by the very ones to whom she has given much.

She is a light of hope. Love her and she will love you. Hate her and she will still love and provide help in the time of need.

Our armed forces, true warriors and enforcers of peace. May God bless them all, and may God bless America.

i have been reading alot from the good perople of north carolina and i have to say it here, because i cant say anywhere else, but the people of nc are not very bright. now i know you just want to be mad at me for this but i have to tell you that i lived in nc for two years and so i do have some experience with the people there. they do talk funny, they do chew tobacco, hunt, grow their own smoke and meet every mornig down at the diner to talk about their dogs, the farm and how they hate black people. i am not saying this to be cruel im saying it because its what i observed and heard for two years. and so it makes me wonder if the majority of whites in nc do not like black folks, then why is obama going to win that state with big numbers? i would figure, based on what i know, that the white folks would get out and vote against him. course i havent lived there in several years and it may be that they have come to realize that its not good for the soul to hate people. perhaps its okay with them to be reminded that the are bitter. oh well.

Oh Brother! Just another politician doing anything to win. He was not wearing a flag....gave some snotty reason for not wearing it...Now he is in front of Veterans and yup he smacks one on right in front of all the military......Has this man no shame. Again what is his position? Oh yeah that's right...it is whatever the crowd he happens to be in front of wants it to be. I guess he really didn't beleive what he said about wearing it in the first place. Let's see...pretends to be a bowler...pretends to not know what his minister of 20 some years was really saying...(Notice he said "Shame on Hillary for repeating his very own words...but could not bring himself to say Shame on Minister Wright?)....pretends to have done one thing on energy but really has done another....yeap...Tha's the guy we want leading this party. I hope Hillary takes this all the way to the convention and maybe the growups will acome to thier senses and stop falling alll over this flip flopping fandago

Senator Obama is often a day late and a dollar short when it comes to things like the flag pin. His refusal to wear it at first was not that big an issue, but it represents an error in judgement nontheless. He's having to make up for mistakes too frequently. In the White House, he will often have to be right the first time. And I'm afraid he's not ready.

Obama must come up with d announce a detailed plan to deal with the needs of hundreds of thousands Iraq vets.

Wearing the pin is a nice gesture, but a plan would be nicer.

its a shame that Obama shows so little patriotism for our country that a war veteran has to give him a flag pin to wear at that meeting. Yes it matters what is in your heart and showing patriotism for our country is also in defending it with words not sitting silent for 20 years listening to hate against our country. Obama you are just not in touch with America patriotism you have shown us that I would never vote for Obama if he is the democrats choice then McCain will get my family"s vote

Obama dosnt deserve to wear that pin.In that flag pin is the freedom of religion, the right to bear arms and the right to enforce our own immagration laws.A socialist star pin would fit him right.
