Clinton campaign gets Weather Underground questions

Hillary Clinton speaks during Wednesday's ABC debate.
Hillary Clinton speaks during Wednesday's ABC debate.

(CNN) - The morning after Hillary Clinton attacked Barack Obama over his relationship with William Ayers, founder of Weather Underground, her campaign advisers struggled with questions over her view of pardons for members of that group issued by her husband, former President Bill Clinton.

On a conference call with reporters, spokesman Howard Wolfson said he did not know where the New York senator stood on the pardons, but that he would check.

The Obama campaign has responded to Clinton’s questions to the Illinois senator at Wednesday night’s ABC debate with press releases pointing to the former president’s pardons of Weather Underground members Susan Rosenberg and Linda Evans.

The group, which formed in the 1960s, sought the overthrow of the U.S. government, and carried out violent attacks including bombings.

Isn't it funny that anytime the Clinton campaign swings mud at Obama it comes back to hurt the clintons and they start scrabbling the next perfect lie to tell the American people?

Last time I checked the deal with the Clintons was "TWO FOR THE PRICE OF ONE", so please spare me the details that Hillary was not in on NAFTA, ColumbiaGate, Snipergate, WeatherUndergroundGate, Screw-emGATE, WhiteWaterGate, KazacstanGATE, MonicaGate, and soon to come PeterPaulGate just to name a few.

    Unbelievable!

This wasnt a debate it was a tabloid debacle and ABC should be discusted in themselves. Charles and George spent 50 minutes asking about nothing. It was a one way mudslinging fest which if thats what they were after the questions should have been fair for both. Clinton was never asked many questions I want answered such as why Mark Penn is still with her campaign. What about the Peter Paul trial which is scheduled in Nov. What about the contradictions of NAFTA and CAFTA. What about the 800,000 her husband recieved and the conflict there. What about the missing transcripts from the whitehouse. What about the donors to the Clinton Foundation. I could go on and on.

The DNC needs to end this now as if I was unsure before I am certain now that Hillary Clinton will NEVER get my vote.
Obama or nothing… If I wasnt BITTER before I am now… Tabloid reporting at its finest c/o ABC which I will now boycott. A written apology for not addressing real issues such as more on the housing issues healthcare the economy ect. anything would have been better than what the american people received..

Honestly, I am tired of the politics of yesterday. A new generation is taking over America, and we care about issues, not point scoring. The Weathermen, while a significant piece of history, was only something we read about in textbooks. And the connection she is trying to make doesn't work with us. Its tenuous at best.

We filter thousands of pieces of data a day, and if any politician thinks we take what they say at face value without our own investigating, they need to wake up.

Every time Clinton tries to throw a sticky bomb at Obama the stink ends up all over her face. She needs to step aside and get out of the race.

  6. To forgive is divine

To pardon someone who is no longer aligned with the former horrible behaviors is okay.

The problem is IF people, 40 years later, are still preaching violence and hatred against fellow Americans- as William Ayers did after 9/11, and as Rev Wright continued to do 40 years after Jim Crow- that is what is NOT acceptable.

Obama forgives those still hating today.
Clintons forgive those who moved away from hate and violence.

Obama's white granny moved away from her racial bias of 40 years ago. But a man of God- Wright- could and would not. He continued to preach it. William Ayers continued to preach violence against Americans also.

NOT THE SAME THING, OBAMA AND PRO-OBAMA MEDIA

I take it she "forgot" about the pardoning just like everything else she's conveniently forgotten or lied about. I'm glad it came back to bite her on the backside.

Irrelevant? Let's see $200 donation in 1996 vs a pardon. Barack was 8 years old when Ayers was busy. To bad she open that door vs doing the right thing and saying that the question was BS. That would have showed guts and leadership. You notice Obama did not pile on on the sniper question

Doesn't she get it? She has more dirt than anybody else. Everytime she throws dirt at someone else, it comes back at her. Why? She has a pile load of dirt in her house.

Notice how she refused to comment after that statement. What a phony.

Good Luck Hillary. This should be the end of you. Get Out !!!

How come last night when Wolfson was saying Obama wouldn't or couldn't answer most of the questions, you as her campaign manager can't answer this one..."I'll have to check?" Come on!! You looked totally stupid in the interview afterwards but guess what, you didn't answer any of the questions Keith Olberman threw at you...you two faced liar!!!! Senator Casey .... a man of substance...Howard Wolfson...a "WOLF" in sheeps clothing....(as pertaining to the Keith Olbermans' interview last night)

Thats a major problem when you do a "Kitchen Sink" attack and start throwing everything you have at an opponent. You run the risk of tossing one of your own skeletons out there for everyone to see.

Are those pardoned men still hating?

Are they still fomenting hate and division?

Are they still preaching violence and hate?

    Willaim Ayers is.

    Rev Wright is.

just saying poster is a moron.

"ABC did what you (CNN) were unwilling to do- put on a fair debate on topics and positions?"

was your reception bad? More than half the debate was not about any pertinent issues, rather it was heavily focused on stupid things like lapel pins and things that people said one time, a long time ago. Come on. Open your crusted eyes.

    hahahaahhahahahahha!

When are the not so super delegates going to get off the dime and start representing Obama's triple digit lead among the public.

This stuff would end NOW and we could get on with the deposing of the current administration and addressing the real issues!

She deserves it. She thinks that she has been vetted for 36 years, nevertheless, her husband refusses to disclose the donors to his Presidential Liabrary, and she refusses to release the names of which institution or individuals received all the $300M and some of her barrel pork allocations for his contituents, during her peirod in the Senet. EXTRANGE. NOT AT ALL. DANGEROUS, YOU BET!!!!!!

Just an example of not managing her campaign properly. She should have known that this issue would come back to her if she raised it. This is just sloppy research on her and her team's part and goes back to what I have said before... "What about the pardons?"

If Hillary had stuck to the issues of this country instead of going negative she would have had a better chance.People are finding out daily how much baggage she and her husband are carrying around.
I will miss the pathetic excuses that some of the Clinton supporters use when she finally goes down, won't be long now.

When Clinton made the Bosnia gaffe, she apologized for it.

When Obama made the bitter gaffe, he blamed us for misinterpreting his remarks. When he performed badly in the PA debate, his supporters blame ABC and the moderators. When the Wright videos came out, he wasn't in the church pew during those sermons. When asked about the Gun Regulation survey, he didn't fill the paper out and sign it. When asked about Ayers, he said he didn't know the man 40 years when he performed his crimes.

Sure, but why aren't you reporting that Ayers and his wife hosted a fundraiser at their home for Barack Obama when he was running for state senate? Or how while serving together on the board of the Wood Fund, they donated $75,000 to Rashid Khalid, who is an open supporter of the PLO and has called on for "resistance" against Israel?
