This is an example of why you have to be very careful attacking others- especially when you have lots of baggage. The problem with Hillary's campaign is that this tactic isn't really working for her. The only time it did was before the Ohio Primary when her campaign distorted that story on NAFTA. That was less than honest. Obama seemed prepared for the Ayers question and Hillary kinda walked into a trap- He knew she'd attack him on that while she didn't know he'd come back. This has been a recurring theme in her campaign- they can attack but are unable to take a punch. The Clintons had a significant advantage in the campaign with name recognition- they squandered it and have been out maneuvered for the most part by Obama's campaign. This shouldn't have happened and you have to blame Clinton (which ever one you want)- and credit Obama's side for being where they are.

I like Hillary but I'm supporting Obama because I think he is the person you can trust the most and that is something we haven't had in the White House for a considerable time.

We are starting to see that this race is hurting the party. It's like getting in the ring with one fighter while another fighter watches. When you're done fighting the first guy (or gal) the next fighter steps in after watching your technique strengths and weaknesses. This isn't favorable for the person who fights twice. What the democratic fighters need to do is attack McCain together- stop attacking each other. He can't fight two at once.

I didnt see the debates, but from what ive heard it was a draw. Hillary clearly understands policies - great. But her choices, her connections, her decisions...we need that too. Obama needs to fine tune his a little, and frankly I anticipate that he will surround himself with a great supporting cast - unlike Dubya. I want a president who is well rounded, and Hillary is not that.

The reality is, how effective has any president been in the last 30 years? How many campaign promises never come to fruition - on both sides? Are we really electing Obama or Clinton for their health care plans - which will probably never ever happen? No, we arent - we are electing a president who wont bomb the heck out of a country - just becuase. We are electing a president who wont jump without reviewing the actual circumstances...we are electing a president who wont walk into the world acting as if everything is owed to america.

Gosh, on top of all that - clintons shady dealings are scary - and the fact that Barack hasnt really talked about this should not lead any of you to believe that the republicans arent going to. We havent even seen the tip of the iceberg with the shadiness in her past.

If clinton is handed the nomination, i expect another 4 years of republican rule - but at least it will be funny as heck to watch her being revealed for the schmuck that she is.

Obama, he has met people who turned out to be shady - but he hasnt done anything shady with him. You want a distinction between he and Clinton, there you have it.

IN FACT HE LIED ON NATIONAL TV LAST NIGHT AND SAID HE DOESN'T TAKE MONEY FROM LOBBIEST BUT THERE WAS AN ARTICLE IN USATODAY YESTERDAY THAT HE HAS IN FACT TAKEN MONEY FROM SOME OF THE MAJOR OIL COMPANIES. SO HE IS PREACHING ONE THING BUT PRACTICING ANOTHER.

Hillary has said that if she had a pastor like Rev. Wright she would have left the church - said that you can't pick your family but you can pick your pastor. Well Hillary you can also PICK YOUR HUSBAND. With Hillary it is all about power and as far as her marriage, it is nothing but an arrangement.

I love it when supporters of Senator Clinton say that it was Bill Clinton not her that did the pardoning. Isn't it Hillary that is using those 8 years as part of her "35" years of experience? As far as the media goes, I don't think they have even come close to really examine HER credentials. Has anyone (MSM) really, and I mean REALLY, spoken about her claims of her participation in the Northern Ireland peace agreement? NAFTA? Or how about the promise of creating jobs in NY state when running for Senator in 2000? Oh, I forgot. That was Al Gore's fault because he didn't win the Presidency.

Shameful performance by George S. Barack did a good job of parrying the Willaim Ayres question. "I was 8 years old" exposes just how inane the question really is.

On the other hand we have Hillary sounding like somewhere deep down she is coming to a slow realization that just isn't going to go her way. Hope she doesn't firebomb the place on the way out the door. ;)

Bottom line is that the so-called "Debate" sucked canal water. The only real winners where ABC's sponsors; They received far more air time than any of the REAL ISSUES received.

I'm not sure which alternate Universe the Clintons live in, but it sure must be one hateful, spiteful, self-serving, holier-than-thou place, where no one dares speak the truth.

What a terrible debate in terms of real substantive issues being talked about. Charles Gibson and George Stephonopolous just perpetuated stories that mean nothing in terms of the issues that this country faces.

The only positive I see is that the more that comes out before the general election on either Dem candidate takes away the thunder the GOP may have generated by bringing it up this fall.

Hillary is such a poll-hungry, fickle woman. She has certainly proven herself to be a decent Republican-minded politico, but she lacks heart, she lacks integrity, and she sure as hell lacks my support.

Does anyone else find it odd that no one has jumped on her weird Bible-friendship with the likes of John Ashcroft? Come on, CNN, we shouldn't have to scour Mother Jones and The Nation to learn about her sketchy religiosity.

This debate was horrible.

Filled with non issues, and tabloid type questions. I believe Obama was in shock most of the debate!

I do believe it made Hillary look bad. She declined to comment when he mentioned Bill's pardons, when she tried to slam Obama on a fleeting relationship with Ayers, moments before.

Hillary made the biggest mistake!

She admitted Obama is electable, although she was pressed to do it.

She could have told the truth about how she feels, if she indeed feels Obama is not electable!

At any rate, she and Harold Ickes can play that tune to the Supers anymore, or she will certainly look like a blantant liar!

I donated again to Obama, after the debate!

As an independent voter these days and watching the dems go on, anyone who really believes that Hillary is electable is either naive or foolish. At this point, she could not beat John McCain and as a side note, anyone can discuss or have a plan but implementing that plan a different story...

Hillary dismisses herself when in her campaign saying Obama is not electable. NOW, in the last night debates, she comfirms three times he's electable. Where does Hillarry stand and what does she mean to the american people ? Can we count on Hillary's words? We don't think so. Her campaign is really crazy.

Sorry, but it is not just the Underground pardons that need to be answered for. How about Marc Rich, the ones orchestrated by her goofy brothers or was it Clinton's goofy brother, the FALN pardons, etc. These two Clintons are shameless politicians only in it for themselves and that is why I WILL only vote for Obama or McCain.
Clintons are not worth my effort or care!

Wow!!!! Many of you cannot see the forrest for the trees. It seems to me that your candidtate would have to beat up a blind child for you to even question them. I am sure the blind child would be at fault. Just like "screw them" when talking about southern whites. I am sure she misspoke there too. Talk about the blind leading the blind. Lets see. Screw the white southerners, young people are stupid, what is left to vote? Oh, the gullible

I find it funny how people claim that CNN is biased, and claim something ISN'T biased when it IS fair. It's popular amongst the clintonites. :3 "OMG they asked clinton a hard question! That's not fair!" I bet if they asked, "Mrs. Clinton, is the sky blue?" but asked Obama, "How much weight can a sparrow carry and for how long?" they'd consider it fair.

Grow up, both sides. I'm for Obama, but I am SICK of how we tear each other up. I can't like Hillary. she's too much of a witch. Yeah, she is. And I like Obama because he's speaking to the people, and didn't grow up priveledged. No, he's not elitist--Hillary is. She's just planning on taking Obama down with her, fighting to the end.

Hillary needs to quit whining. Bill needs to keep his mouth shut and something else in his pants. And Chelsea needs to grow up, as do ALL of you--Obama and Clinton supporters alike.

Thank you. :3

To all these "the past is past" posters-- Where is the evidence for your claims? What do you know about the current beliefs or the repentance of those two weatherwomen?

And how in God's name can you still be supporting the liar Hillary Clinton? Why does she appeal to you? Her vote to authorize the war maybe?

So why wasn't Hillary asked about Bill's pardon, and only Obama was questioned about "terrorist connections? Or any of Hillary's other known credibility incidents? This debate was a hatchet job on Obama, and as far as I'm concerned ABC has joined FOX in insignificance.

I think the whole point of this is simple: both have ties to an organization that sought to promore terrorist acts on it's own people.

That cannot be tolerated....

And to the guy that quoted "From Dreams of my father"....

purity in the races will always be a multi way bridge, with each race doing it's part to help out the greater issue. Unfortunately, when you have bigots, racists, and people that simply blame white people, blacks, etc. for their own problems, YOU GET NOTHING but hate. Hate is also a multi-way bridge, with all races and nationalities having their own little way as well.

I really do not understand our country. I served in Vietnam and as anyone that has been in combat knows. You cannot win a war unless you have the troops to clear every town of wepons and keep troops in the town to build trust with the people.

Second, I cannot belive we are still wanting to put people in space. Why are we not taking that money and knowledge and using it to build cars that do not depend on oil. Look at what our grandparents did for our country during World War Two.

Third, I believe anyone that runs for President of the United States should only be able to receive funds approved by the people of the United States. No Lobbyist money, No Corporate money, No Special interest money.

Thank you,

BOYCOTT!!! Make them apologise for their blatant disdain for the American Public. Make them apologise for not telling the truth on why we invaded Iraq. Make them accountable for greed and hubris while kids are dying in Iraq. Tell the Truth ABC. We're mad as hell, and we're not going to take it anymore. Make them accountable to US!! Make them apologise to us for treating us like we're stupid. Too bad, ABC, you are the ones who will take the brunt for all the lies from corporate media. You just pushed your luck a little too far. Apologise!! Demand it!! Charlie...while you are worrying about your capital gains tax, kids are dying, dying in a war your company promoted. BOYCOTT, until they apologise for getting paid millions for not doing their job. And DEMAND that everyone at corporate wear their flag lapel pin.

Hillary has made a point of taking credit for things done during the "Clinton Administration" therefore when Bill pardoned those criminals ...she should also be responsible. She has also claimed her "experience" from being in the White House. If she learned how to be a President from Bill.... then we are in trouble.

Of course she saw his ploy coming.

She is smarter than Obama.

She also realizes it has nothing to do with HER or her campaign.

She preffered to discuss the issues- and not be derailed by his constant inappropriate attacks.

Stay with the issues Hillary. That is what we want and love about you.

Let him wallow in hate and violence.

Stick with love and forgiveness.

I'm sorry, but the "I'm not sure, but I'll check" response typically doesn't fly in politics. Coming from a professional human spin cycle such as Howard Wolfson, I really would have expected a more drawn-out, illogical response than that.

OBAMA...like his brother "Abongo "Roy" Odinga" who hates America, and their communist grandfather who ran with Russia and hated America, not to mention his socialist connection with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, and his profound childhood mentor Frank Marshall Davis, a member of the Communist Party.

OBAMA...was a member of the Woods Fund with communist domestic terrorist Bill Ayers who bombed the Pentagon, the US Capital, among other things.

HE is the one who pardoned them - not her. Why should she be held accountable to answer for what he did? Oh - and I'm not even a Democrat.

Hillary supporters sho say Barack looked like a deer under the inquisition should thank him. The only real powerful counterpunch on the pardons Hillary immediately recoiled choosing to respond after the break and then never brought it up. Think what would happen if she was going after a similar or old-style politician like the republicans.

Hey Bill!!!!

Why not blame her? She's trying to claim the positive points and successes of his tenure as qualifying experience for the Presidency, why not the negatives and failures too???

Oh, I'm sorry Mr. President, I didn't realize it was you making this comment under a different handle.
