Obama says NC could crown him the nominee

RALEIGH, North Carolina (CNN) -– Barack Obama said Thursday that the North Carolina primary could be decisive.

"If we can win in North Carolina, I think we can wrap up this nomination," Obama told an overflow crowd of supporters outside his event in Raleigh. "And if we can win this nomination I think we can beat John McCain."

"I think everybody understands how important this election is," he continued. "North Carolina is going to be critically important."

Well, jorge........ Barack Obama will win the nomination AND the majority of voters will make this wonderful, honest, talented, good man the next President of the United States. You, my friend, will be on the losing side. A loser. Yes, indeed. but, chin up.... you will get the benefit of an Obama presidency. So, perhaps you will be a winner afterall.

What hypocrisy about the debates. When the Center for Fairness in the Media released their study showing bias against Hillary it was greeted with silence. Where was the outrage? There was none, because it was just Hillary, and she is considered fair-game. Obama has to field tough questions (that the national media should have been asking months ago) and it's an "outrage". Let me describe something truly outrageous: The national media, cable news shows, Wall Street, Democratic Party leaders (Kennedy, Kerry, Pelosi, Brazile) Oprah and MoveOn.org using their combined resources to crush Hillary out of the race. That is truly outrageous. So much so that if Obama "wins" the nomination I will be voting for McCain. I use the term "wins" loosely.

What Obama was saying, is the average people are too dumb to get his superior, cool, liberal message. What an arrogant snob. This is from a twit who attended the most expensive private school in Hawaii and then an Ivy league college.I guess he is more comfortable with Jeremiah Wright

What is your problem Jorge Lopez? We are all Dems, we have to remember that, because you have a personal problem with BO is going to give us another 3rd term of Bush. Another 4 years? We would have you and others like you who can't get past petty differences and come together and vote Democrat to blame. So if that's the case, Thanks for nothing ya undercover GOP.

  10. OUR USA!

Obama's arrogance is sickening. Where does he get the nerve to continue to lie to the American public and boast that he can beat McCain. McCain is going to sweep the floors with him. Most of the larger states of this country have voted for Hillary including 2 who Obama managed to shut it's vote to. He is history. The only person who stands to beat McCain in November, is Hillary Clinton. Does he think we are stupid or something? The man is arrogant, incompetent, and a loser.

You win the nomination. You cannot win the election.

Obama will win the nomination through a coalition between the "elite" of the party and the black vote. But he has completely alienated the base of the Democratic Party – blue-collar, unionized, primarily white liberals concentrated in the Rust Belt. When Hillary loses, these guys will fall back on McCain, not Obama.

Sorry guys, but be prepared for a huge landslide in favor of the Republicans.

No you can not win in Nov because many of the Hillary democrats will never vote for you- even if Hillary supports you.

We will write in Hillary Clinton's name.

I don't understand why Obama is being attacked because of what his Pastor said. His Pastor has a right to Free Speech. His Pastor just used his Free Speech right. Obama has nothing to do with the believes of his Pastor. Obama's competition is grasping at straws.

That's true. If Clinton doesn't win many of us will vote for McCain... not me of course, I have a fully functional brain, but others of us would rather vote for someone fundamentally different from our choice candidate than for a largely similar candidate... give me a break!

Obama for President..not this year. He needs to become more season. He may sound like the dream ticket, and I believe in dreaming, but not when Our country is in need a of a strong leader. I am so tired of him misstating himself. Do want a President that misstates himself time and time again? I understand why most black people are voting for Barack, and I know why a lot of whites are voting. They hate Bill Clinton, and know they can't have Hilliary without Bill. Face it......haters are in America.

  20. PA Democrat

Jorge! You are not a true Democrat!
I would like to know what did Obama do to you?
I can tell you several reasons why I am NOT supporting Hillary who I supported at first until the FACTS came to light!
Hillary supported NAFTA which caused PA folks and other Americans to loose their jobs!
Hillary LIED about sniper fire in Bosnia which is an insult to all the men/women/families who has served or is serving in the armed forces.
Hillary and Bill got $800,000 in 2005 for a trade deal with Columbia.
Hillary twist and spins words that are actual TRUTHS from Obama to try and pull him down!
    Jorge should I go on???
Most you can tell me is about Rev Wright – Well Rev Wright is NOT running for President! Give me something about OBAMA himself why you choose not to vote for him!
Get your facts right then make a choice as an informed, educated voter!
Needless to say my vote is for Obama!
Sen. Obama will win in Nov Jorge I just hope you remember that....

    Every election is important
North Carolina is critically important because you were in North Carolina when you said that......a few days ago Pennsylvania was the most important state

I'm glad we have someone to pander to us all and make us feel important.

I am absolutely begging this guy to say something SUBSTANTIVE from a national economy, foreign policy and National Security Strategy point of view.

He is very good at looking pretty and making a rousing speech and sprinkling the words "Change" and "Hope" into these speeches....but when you start to peel the onion back there are absolutely no concrete and well thought out solutions to the issues America faces other than what ever Bush did was wrong.

What experience does this guy have when it comes to dealing with the persistent threat of Islamic terrorists? A two day trip to Iraq and another trip to Africa??? Has he ever served in a position of great responsibility in the Armed Forces or State Department??? Does serving 3 years on the Senate Foreign Relations committee qualify as significant experience???

    Where is the substance?

Being an effective public speaker does not equal effective public policy

"HOPE" is not a method....only a nice sound bite

    April 17, 2008 05:47 pm at 5:47 pm |
  23. better hope

Better hope... I mean bitter hope that the republicans who endorse you will actually VOTE for you...because many of the Hillary democrats will NEVER vote for you.

Our first option: Write Hillary Clinton in.

Even if Hillary herself supports you- she may choose party loyalty- even when the party swiftboated her... but we do not put loyalty to the party before the good of the country.

He's right!!! What is the point of doing John McSame's work for him. If we go on, Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi may as well send John and Cindy on a summer cruise in the Bahamas!!!

We don't need another debate (especially if it would be like last night)! Sen Clinton admits to having box cars full of baggage (and we know between now and November, more is bound to fall out into the open. So what is the point????

She will tear the party to shreds to win, because she IS elitist and feels entitled to the office and will do anything to win.
