Watch Mitt Romney tell the top ten reason’s he dropped out of the race.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — At Wednesday night’s Radio and Television Correspondents Dinner in Washington, D.C., former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney gave his “Top 10 Reasons for Dropping Out of the Race":

10. There weren't as many Osmonds as I thought.
9. I got tired of corkscrew landings under sniper fire.
8. As a lifelong hunter, I didn't want to miss the start of the varmint season.
7. There wasn’t room for two Christian leaders.
6. I was upset that no one had bothered to search my passport files.
5. I needed an excuse to get fat, grow a beard and win the Nobel prize.
4. I took a bad fall at a campaign rally and broke my hair.
3. I wanted to finally take off that dark suit and tie, and kick back in a light-colored suit and tie.
2. Once my wife Ann realized I couldn't win, my fundraising dried up.
1. There was a miscalculation in our theory: "As Utah goes, so goes the nation.”

we almost nominated a morman to be on the presidential ticket, mitt romney. the case you are now watching in states where these cults are is a problem that has been in this country since i was a child in the 1930's. the MORMON CHURCH WAS BASICALLY A POLIGIMIST CULT BACK THEN AND THEN THE LAW CHANGED, NOT ALLOWING MULTIPLE MARRIAGES AT THE SAME TIME IN THIS COUNTRY. THERE WAS A BREAKOUT FROM THE BASIC MORMON CHURCH AT THAT TIME. BLACKS WERE NOT ALLOWED TO BELONG BECAUSE THE MORMONS DID NOT WANT TO MIX THE RACES. IT WAS A PURE WHITE CHURCH OF ABUSERS OF SEX AND STILL IS. THE INNER TEMPLE WHERE ONLY THE TRUE MEMBERS CAN GO, STILL EXISTS AND THAT IS WHERE MARRIAGES WERE SEALED WITH SEX. IF YOU ARE A NON=MORMON, YOU WERE NOT ALLOWED TO KNOW THESE EVENTS OR FACTS.

ROMNEY IS OLD ENOUGH THAT IF HIS PARENTS WERE MORMONS THEY WERE A PART OF ORIGINAL CULT.

we wanh hillary, not mccain...screw him.   April 17th, 2008 2:38 pm ET

Romney was never down with Hillary in the first place, that's why he's doing a top ten list… if he wouldve supported Hillary, then maybe he'd be electable.

HILLARY / NADER

CNN please post

kevin   April 17th, 2008 2:38 pm ET

Mit is interesting. He decided to step down because of partisan pressure and now is able to joke about it. That is just down right cool.

we wanh hillary, not mccain...screw him.   April 17th, 2008 2:36 pm ET

First of all, Shame on Romney for not supporting Hillary.

Hillary and Nader 2008.

Don;t get it twitsted.

Pete   April 17th, 2008 2:36 pm ET

Wow, no wonder current politics is a complete failure, people are so mean spirited and quick to judge. Tolerance really doesn't seem to apply to anyone any more.
I also think it's funny how many fellow democrats think Mitt wasn't a viable/important candidate because he bowed out, news flash, having two candidates this far in isn't helping us.

Georgia   April 17th, 2008 2:35 pm ET

Why are the Obama supporters so bitter?

Casual Observer   April 17th, 2008 2:30 pm ET

Hey Disgusted. "Vile as a Morman"? Do you know any? Ever spent any time talking to one? It is self-righteous people like you, who judge without any knowledge of what they are talking about, that are ruining the world.

Why not try being a little understanding and open minded?

Jim Norris   April 17th, 2008 2:27 pm ET

Very Funny…..very pithy!!!! I stand amazed at the hard hearted comments. You anti-religion folks are really quite a piece of work when it comes to insanity. What's the difference between the mormon cult and the xtian cult? Both believe in an invisible sky fairy that looks into our day to day affairs, right? The rest is just details. Just because the xtian cult has more members and has been around longer doesn't make it's myths any more real.

I just have to say that I am a Mormon and we have a deep and abiding faith In Jesus Christ, whom we worship as our Savior and Redeemer. Everything that we ever do in our church is in His name and we really try to follow Christ's example and be good to everyone. We are the first to help when a disaster hits—we send food, money and people to help. How does that make us non-Christian or a cult? Check out your facts…not just the rumors that are being falsely spread around about us.

Greg   April 17th, 2008 2:07 pm ET

Funny how Mormons try and hide the fact they are Mormon by calling themselves "Chrsitians". Nothing could be further from the truth. You either buy into the Church of Joseph Smith of Modern Day Pedophiles or you don't. Joseph Smith was a con man and false prophet… end of stopry. If you believe her was a prophet of God, then you would be a Mormon. If you denounce Smith as a false prophet, then you would be considered a Christian. Pick one…

Real Mature   April 17th, 2008 2:06 pm ET

Wow, all of your comments are so MATURE AND INTELLECTIAL…NOT. You people have nothing better to do with your lives than bash others…pathetic. Why don't you all grow a beard and win a Nobel…LOSERS!

Craig Nazor   April 17th, 2008 2:04 pm ET

Fat or thin, bearded or not, I challenge Romney to try and win a Nobel prize. That was a cheap shot at a good man, and I don't think anyone will be laughing about a comment like that in ten years. Cheap shots only work when they are aimed back at the shooter. Could this be one reason why Romney is not the Republican candidate today?

Sam I Am   April 17th, 2008 2:03 pm ET

Just a few thoughts…

1. I don't get it…
2. BO, that's funny; B. O.
3. Why does anyone care about what another person believes, as long as those beliefs do no harm?

That is all…

Dave   April 17th, 2008 1:57 pm ET

Mitt, if you'd had these writers during your campaign, you might still be running. Well, that and not shifting your position so often you left everyone's head spinning. And you had not been pandering to groups you had ignored before.

Nestor in Miami   April 17th, 2008 1:57 pm ET

people are so angry, self deprication is just fine by me. He left the race but that is still not good enough for some people who want to kill him because he ran. Most bashing him are democrats, I guess that party is not as all inclussive as they portray themselves to be. What a pitiful bunch those who use this as a means of attacking him based on his religion.

a voice in the wilderness   April 17th, 2008 1:56 pm ET

Mitt, as McCain's VP choice, has the successful business sense and acumen to complement McCain's shortfall to get the US ecomony back on track. Doesn't anyone else have the foesight to see this? I'm not a Mormon and I voted for him. Mitt's belief system doesn't detract from his economic expertise.

Paul   April 17th, 2008 1:55 pm ET

Lame. But what do you expect from a stiff, middle-aged technocrat? Seems like Mitt just doesn't know when to quit hanging around. Get lost all ready!

Ryan   April 17th, 2008 1:49 pm ET

Wow, I am and always have been an Obama supporter, but that list was surprisingly funny! I had to read it twice to make sure that Romney actually was being that witty. Anyway, its really sad that so many people feel the need to rip on Romney's religion whenever there's any post about him at all. This is America folks. The Mormons aren't breaking any laws and they seem to be reasonable people to me. Whatever they believe about the details of God and heaven is between them and God.

Arlene from Orange County, CA   April 17th, 2008 1:48 pm ET

Mitt Romney has more integrity than the rest of the candidates combined. What a shame the media hated him!

Patrick Blackmon   April 17th, 2008 1:47 pm ET

Where was this witty sense of humor during his campaign? Maybe instead of his "Speech on Religion" he should have shown this lighter side. Much more human than I ever thought.

wonder bug   April 17th, 2008 1:47 pm ET

so he has a sarcastic sense of humor – making fun of people like al gore, etc… that's a truly humble religious person for you — making fun of other people. mitt shows his true colors — thus go forward and wear your light colored suit my friend — you didn't have the charisma to win the nomination.

301   April 17th, 2008 1:42 pm ET

I have to believe that people who bash mormons have never realized that they know any mormons. Here's a hint…most of the really super nice people you meet who are so nice that you're surprised that that much kindness is left in the world…those are the Mormons. I think the South Park episode about Mormonism put it best: Who cares if other people find their religion odd or faulty, any religion where people end up respecting and loving their family and being genuinely nice to everyone is a good one.

The other Val   April 17th, 2008 1:41 pm ET

When Clinton made the Bosnia gaffe, she apologized for it.

When Obama made the bitter gaffe, he blamed us for misinterpreting his remarks. When he performed badly in the PA debate, his supporters blame ABC and the moderators. When the Wright videos came out, he wasn't in the church pew during those sermons. When asked about the Gun Regulation survey, he didn't fill the paper out and sign it. When asked about Ayers, he said he didn't know the man 40 years when he performed his crimes.

Auntie Coosa, Blairsville, Georgia, USofA   April 17th, 2008 1:28 pm ET

Funny . . . I love Republicans, they have such a great sense of humor and don't mind laughing at themselves. Unlike that "other" party . . . The Democrat Party.

You who say and write "Democratic" in place of Democrat please take note. The PARTY is called DEMOCRAT Party.

If you can't laugh at yourself, your not much of a person. If you can't have a sense of humor about politics, you need to find another religion. You know where all the best lawyer jokes come from? Lawyers of course. Same thing here. Plus I like his stab at Clinton under sniper fire.

FreshFlavor   April 17th, 2008 1:25 pm ET

And DEFINITELY the worst debate of all time. What an absolute joke. Anyway, since Obama once again took the highroad on HIllary's Bosnia covert Ops mission and HIllary dove nose first into the muck in negatives this once again can be marked down as a win for Barack.

Obama 08

James   April 17th, 2008 1:23 pm ET

This brings up a life lesson of mine. If you can not laugh at yourself, you should not laugh at all. it is awesome to see Mitt Romney has a sense of humor about his unsuccessful bid.

Good list, Mitt, but you'd better not say anything else for a while. You know how easily the Obamacites get upset.

John, Lexington MA   April 17th, 2008 1:19 pm ET

Those of you who dislike Romney do so most likely out of jealousy. He is by far the most intelligent of all the candidates (just check his resume), monetarily the most successful, and guess what? The guy has only been married once and doesn't have any extra-marital affairs to entertain the media. Why did he lose? He's too boring. The media doesn't want someone as clean cut. What would there be to talk about if we don't have controversy after controversy?

BA   April 17th, 2008 1:18 pm ET

Everybody that has made negative comments about Mitt Romney must like paying high taxes and high gas prices and want Washington to keep doing what it alway has been doing. If any of you think that any "real" change is going to happen with any of the "Senators" as our president, you have another thing coming. The only hope our country has, is if McCain picks Romney to be his VP. He can then be there for the next twelve years to nurse our country back to health. The "Senators" have been there for years and they are part of the reason that our country is in the position that it is in now in all aspects. They don't know how to do anything different. Romney is the only one that doesn't have any "baggage or dirty laundry" to bring into the white house. People, wake up! Romney is our country's only hope.

I have absolutely no interest in Romney as president. Nevertheless, his Top Ten is the funniest thing I've seen or heard in this entire campaign season.

Greg from WI   April 17th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

Vile Mormons? What the heck? Why do the comments always go back to the guy's belief in Jesus Christ and modern-day prophets? And how do either make one vile? As a Christian myself, I think it's disgusting that many Americans cannot accept the Mormon Church as a fellow Christian Denomination. We don't revile the Baptists because they don't worship Jesus (Just John the Baptist, based on the name), or the Catholics because they're "universal" or based in Rome, so why do we revile the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I've known a lot of Mormons in my life, and most have been among the best people I've ever met.

Matt   April 17th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

As some you illustrate by your comments, ignorance breeds hatred. Why do you feel the need to attack Romney and his religion when he is no longer in the race? What have Mormons done to you lately (or ever) that warrants that kind of hatred and ignorance?

Judy   April 17th, 2008 12:59 pm ET

The joke is on America—we REALLY need someone who can save our economy just like Mitt Romney saved the mega in debt, scandel ridden Olympics, and made them the most successful Olympics ever. I wish Mitt had been given the chance to see what he could do with the nation. I think it is a great quality to be able to laugh at one's self. I bet Al Gore even thought it was funny. Lighten up, America.Quit hating good people because of their religion. We do have freedom of religion and that is why Obama can attend Rev. Wright's church and still run for President. And Mitt Romney is NOT a child abusing member of the FLDS. Let's be a little kinder and not be bitter, America.

I have to admit that Mitt was pretty funny last night. You always knew that he was extremely smart and successful, but it was nice to see that he could be self-deprecating.

It's unfortunate that he is not the selected Republican nominee. We need someone that is extremely smart and has avoided so many of the scandals that have plagued the current candidates!!

Tyrone Brown, Seattle, WA   April 17th, 2008 12:46 pm ET

My “Top 10 Reasons for Mitt Dropping Out of the Race":

1. Trying to sell himself as a social conservative
2. Coming across as slick, prepackaged and re-packaged again
3. Flip-flopping (willing to tell us whatever we wanted to hear)
4. Losing in Iowa, New Hampshire, Michigan, Florida and the list goes on…
5. Being awkward on the campaign trail
6. YouTube
7. Inability to make a genuine connection with the American people
8. The evangelicals didn’t buy it (see #9 for the reason why)
9. The “white elephant” in the room – the evangelical fear of Mormonism

…and the top reason for Mitt droppoing out of the race!!!

10. Mike Huckabee

True and real "elitists." The list in Washington

funny stuff, mitt. had you done this 6 months ago, you might be the nominee. (see: bob dole on letterman after election 96)

the dig on al gore was a good one. sadly, many americans believe every word that loon says.

Stouble Dandard   April 17th, 2008 12:43 pm ET

Where are the moderators in this room? Why is there uncensored and derogatory comments against Mormons? If there were the usual ignorant hate words used regarding the remaining three candidates, would CNN even blink an eye? Heaven forbid we ever say the word 'black' these days without repurcussions.

David   April 17th, 2008 12:39 pm ET

That's actually pretty funny stuff. The gab at Al Gore made me laugh out loud.

I liked Romney.

Frank, Missouri   April 17th, 2008 12:38 pm ET

I support Obama, but I have to give it to Romney that although I don't agree with him on the issues – he is a nice person.

In contrast with Clinton – I agree with her on most of the issues but I can't stand that person at all. I would not vote for her because I don't trust a word she says and I would not reward her campaign style with my vote.

rbn alexandria, mn   April 17th, 2008 12:37 pm ET

CNN only posts the comments from people they understand or less intellegent then themselves. Not to many bright ideas ever seem shared or are think tank worthy. A few dollars & a good news anchor could blow them out in no time. Its like "the crops that do not reproduce because of to much cloning." Come on CNN, get it on.

Dannyboy   April 17th, 2008 12:36 pm ET

CNN, you are a joke. You won't post my comment about how Democrats need to lighten up and stop taking things so seriously, yet you post Penn State's comment about how Penn State's comment won't get posted because "CNN is Obama's mother."

Go FOX News. CNN couldn't find "balance" in a sentence if I spotted it the b-a-l-a-n-c and e.

Uggggh.

delbranson   April 17th, 2008 12:35 pm ET

Democratic Obama supporter here, and nah, I don't imagine I'd have ever voted for Romney. Probably some of funniest comments to come from a politician this primary season though. Laughed out loud, myself. If he'd been this freewheeling on the trail he might have done better. Good on Mitt though, had me rolling. Cheers!

Jeanne   April 17th, 2008 12:35 pm ET

Not to mention that he never was a viable candidate to begin with.

Joshua College Station Texas   April 17th, 2008 12:35 pm ET

Ha ha ha–actually pretty funny. Well, it's good he can laugh at himself. It's nice. As a candidate, he scared the h**l out of me. I never had a problem with his religion, but his platform was fascist.

Jody   April 17th, 2008 12:35 pm ET

Okay people, this is the age of the Internet. There is not more "news space." The "news space" is virtually infinite. This is news because CNN says it's news and they can sell ad space on this page. AND YOU READ IT, so you must have been a little interested. YOU COMMENTED ON IT, so you must be more than just a little interested. STOP WHINING ABOUT WHAT IS NEWS.

I am offended at those who compare Mitt Romney to the FLDS polygamists in Texas. There is nothing in his personal history to even insinuate such a thing. It is always the so-called open-minded ones that are first to bring such heinous allegations.

Nathan   April 17th, 2008 12:35 pm ET

Everyone–who thinks that Mitt *actually believes* those are the reasons he lost–needs to take a step back and look at their lives. To those of you who used this as another opportunity to rant: Congratulations, your venom holds no bounds and its poison will be the death of you.

Yep that was a pock shot at Al Gore, but let's be honest, he's the best fodder comedians have had since Dan Quayle. Okay maybe Dick Cheney, but former VPs never get respect…

I smirked a couple of times while reading it, but I didn't laugh aloud. I'm just glad that someone is trying to take a step back from the partisan charged election to relax.

JAC   April 17th, 2008 12:34 pm ET

The only ones on this blog who don't seem to have a sense of humor are BO supporters (with exceptions), they seem to have taken BO's word gaffe on bitterness to heart. Ron, St. Johns, AZ   April 17th, 2008 12:26 pm ET

For those of you who didn't think this was funny, you obviously did not follow Romney's campaign, nor the various pot shots taken at him. It is the mark of an exceptional human being who can turn and laugh at himself–despite the pot shots.

But despite the good humor, this is an unfortunately sad reminder that America has missed, for now, its oppourtunity to be led by a man who is perhaps the most capable leader to offer himself up for public service in a generation. Romney was and is what the country needs.

So, for now let's hope we get…
McCain/Romney 2008

and then…
Romney 2012

and/or
Romney 2016.

Kevin   April 17th, 2008 12:26 pm ET

Rancid Smelling Phart   April 17th, 2008 12:26 pm ET

His top 10 is almost as hilarious and silly as the notion that Obama or Hillary would be a good president. Now that is both laughable and terrifying at the same time. It's funny, because they are both idiots and terrifying because there are a lot of idiots in the country who actually believe it.

Smith,

Let's see you taken on a multi-billion dollar drug and insurance industry with the limited abilities of a first lady and try to break the stranglehold they have on our society. They spent multi-millions spinning against Hillary's healthcare program. They hypnotized everyone into believing that it is ok to have universal police and fire protection but not medical.

Dont be dumb, vote for Hillary. As president she will have the tools needed to do it right that she did not have before.

Ryan from Canada   April 17th, 2008 12:23 pm ET

Many of these comments are dissapointing, a guy makes some funny jokes and you rip on him due to his religion. Its sad to see that predudice. Its no wonder, the reputation of americans has gone in the toilet. shame on you.

You must be on drugs if you believe the Pope has endorsed Barak because he mentioned hope. "Hope" is a Christian synonym for Faith. It is the Hope of the Promise to come in the afterlife.

So cut it with your garbage. It is not appropriate.

I am sure that the Pope has his opinions but he is smart enough to stay out of our politics. Same goes for "Peace" All popes pray for peace and so do Christians all over the world.

But as I told my children many times. There will be no peace until you die. The earth is filled with hate and anger, not peace.

Utah Mormon   April 17th, 2008 11:15 am ET

To Sharon Minnesota: What's happening in Texas right now has absolutely NOTHING to do with Romney poking fun at himself or with the Mormon Church. The FLDS is similar to the Mormon (or LDS) Church in name only. Comparing these people to the Mormon Church of the last 110+ years is tantamount to saying that white families from the South whose ancestors once owned slaves are still racist slave drivers.

The constant comparison between the FLDS and my church was only slightly annoying at first – but I'm really starting to get ticked off now. People with any knowledge about my religion know that the FLDS and those of us who are Mormon are more different from each other than we are the same. Especially when it comes to polygamy and child abuse that the FLDS group practices.

As for Romney – he's good guy, Im sure. But he never had my vote. Go Obama!

Joseph   April 17th, 2008 11:14 am ET

Actually pretty funny, lol. The Mormon attacks, are unwarranted though. There are some really ignorant people in this world, and unfortunately alot of them will be voting for Obama in the fall.

dani   April 17th, 2008 11:14 am ET

dont regret it cos pope have endorse barack today with the message of hope, so wat is americans waiting for to crown b.obama the president.

Dubya   April 17th, 2008 11:14 am ET

Sterling Brown, you should know that Mitt's Church has never been affiliated with Warren Jeff's and the FLDS Church. Mitt has a wonderful family and would never be involved in something like.

Paul   April 17th, 2008 11:13 am ET

Where is the Dennis Kucinich top 10?

10. Tin foil hats waste natural resources…

Steve   April 17th, 2008 11:13 am ET

That list was the ONLY thing he's said that has been worth listening to since he started his campaign…..(I'm sure he didn't write it himself either)

CHERYL FOR HILLARY   April 17th, 2008 11:12 am ET

Mitt you are finally useful.

Go Hillary. I know we won't win. Leave me alone.

Hillary 08. (Imagine no caps)

Mark Ramsey MD   April 17th, 2008 11:09 am ET

We all need to be able to laugh at ourselves. Good for you Mitt.
GO HILLARY '08!!!!

Anonymous   April 17th, 2008 11:08 am ET

Sharon,

Honestly, what does Texas have to do with Mitt at all????

It is ridiculous that people are too ignorant to check a few basic facts. Your comment regarding the "official" stance of the church and the "prophet" reflect poorly on your ability or willingness to research anything subjectively.

Polygamy has not been practiced by the LDS church for over 100 years. Your equating the actions of a brake off group of the LDS church to the LDS church is like equating the actions of any Protestant church to the Catholic church… they are clearly different churches and it is a pretty silly notion to equate them.

Former Mitt Romney Supporter   April 17th, 2008 11:08 am ET

I am a former mitt romney supporter, but now i will be voting for Sen. Obama in the general election.

Michael Lorton, Virginia   April 17th, 2008 11:07 am ET

Good humor is one of the best articles of dress one can wear in society………..I think it was his way of laughing at what he didn't get when he thought he sould have had it………the Republican nonminee..

Tony   April 17th, 2008 11:07 am ET

BTW: "Mormon Trash?" Look in the mirror if you want to see trash.

karen from va   April 17th, 2008 11:06 am ET

I really liked the one about his hair. Always great to see someone who can take himself lightly. Goodness knows we need it.

Tony   April 17th, 2008 11:06 am ET

Like him or not, that is pretty funny stuff.

Doug Anderson   April 17th, 2008 11:06 am ET

Funny.. but true.
Favored Mitt over John "The Flip Flop" McCain, who is now trying to act like a conservative which he is not..

Heart   April 17th, 2008 11:05 am ET

Romney, the future is still in your hands. I will be watching and ready to support.

Mickey   April 17th, 2008 11:05 am ET

Very funny! What a guy to be able to laugh at himself!

Cammi317   April 17th, 2008 11:05 am ET

Now that's comedy!

T   April 17th, 2008 11:04 am ET

yeah sure, he has $300 million in the bank
and he wants to destroy social security.
thanks

Karen   April 17th, 2008 11:04 am ET

Funny! It is nice to know there are politicians that can laugh at themselves!

Nicolas-Karl from Québec , Canada   April 17th, 2008 11:04 am ET

Would you lighten up ! I tought that was pretty funny actually . Isn't there anybody in the U.S. that doesn't take offence in comedy? This election is so partisan that it's like watching Yankees and Sox fans battle it out in the crowd. Isn't there any place for context , logic , rationale or reflexion in the political scene ? People say that politicians are screwed up , but they represent people that are just as well

Clinton or McCain for me -- no Obama.   April 17th, 2008 11:03 am ET

That is the funniest thing I've ever read. Very clever.

Mike - Texas   April 17th, 2008 11:03 am ET

It is great when you can laugh at yourself.

I just wish that more people understood the true potential that ths man has. It is a shame that people were biased about his religion.

And all we are left with are 3 "bottom of the barrel" candidates.

matt   April 17th, 2008 11:03 am ET

Too bad he didn't win, I think he is the only one qualified to fix the economy.

Bill, LA   April 17th, 2008 11:02 am ET

If I weren't so bitter, I'd laugh. Wait, I don't live in small town America. So I do and can laugh.

Mitt's sense of humor is pleasantly surprising.

ljmoon   April 17th, 2008 11:02 am ET

Romney,
the joke is on you, as a politician!
not even with all your money could you garner enough votes to be taken seriously….you could only wish you would get a Nobel peace prize…(READ: it can't be bought)

Mike   April 17th, 2008 11:01 am ET

Very rare quality that someone is able to laugh at themselves…

Disgusted   April 17th, 2008 11:01 am ET

Mormon trash. I'm glad he dropped out, we don't need something as vile as a Mormon in the White House.

Tootie   April 17th, 2008 11:01 am ET

ROMNEY & McCAIN 08

SURE WINNERS

Conservatives will eat the Liberals!   April 17th, 2008 11:01 am ET

Mitt will rise from the grave and stomp down the liberals like Godzilla on a meth binge in 2012! Go Mitt!

Karen   April 17th, 2008 11:01 am ET

Nice sense of humor. Very funny.

Doug Campbell   April 17th, 2008 11:00 am ET

Funny, Mitt. Nice work. I hear Letterman needs writers. Looking for a gig?

Shawna   April 17th, 2008 11:00 am ET

very funny, I think he should have stayed in the race

Anon   April 17th, 2008 10:59 am ET

Haha, pretty funny. Who'd have thought the mannequin had it in him?

Brian from Iowa   April 17th, 2008 10:58 am ET

Haha … that's awesome. You have to hand it to Mitt — he has a wonderful sense of humour.

Tim, Atlanta GA   April 17th, 2008 10:58 am ET

I wonder in what category he could win the Nobel prize? I…. really can't think of anything.

Twaid   April 17th, 2008 10:58 am ET

Why do politicians wait till they're not running to be funny?

Ken   April 17th, 2008 10:57 am ET

The funnest part is that he is not in the race.

julie   April 17th, 2008 10:57 am ET

The man has a good sense of humor, thats a GOOD thing but anyone supporting Obama has no humor just ,anger, resentment, and hate!

Mike   April 17th, 2008 10:56 am ET

Who is this guy?

Marco   April 17th, 2008 10:56 am ET

He'd David Letterman now?

tim   April 17th, 2008 10:56 am ET

he's a funny guy!

cynthia   April 17th, 2008 10:56 am ET

Loved it…..Number 5 is alive….way to go Mitt.

Ron, TX   April 17th, 2008 10:56 am ET

I'm an Obama-man but that was pretty funny!

Vet for McCain   April 17th, 2008 10:55 am ET

Maybe Obama could create a top ten list after he losses to McCain.

Jed in Texas   April 17th, 2008 10:55 am ET

You had a better chance Mitt as an Agnostic.

Marc, Tacoma Wash   April 17th, 2008 10:54 am ET

Get a life.

Obama 08

hsmith   April 17th, 2008 10:54 am ET

I think it is interesting that Romney was the only former presidential candidate invited to speak – think the establishment and special interests are trying to push him into the VP slot?

Mike   April 17th, 2008 10:51 am ET

Isnt there a compound in west Texas you need to be getting back to Mitt?

The Perpetual Student   April 17th, 2008 10:50 am ET

Reason #1: " Wasn't able to get my message across effectively!"

Joe from PA   April 17th, 2008 10:50 am ET

Thank you ABC. Worst debate ever! What about the issues. They spent 90% of the time on tabloid journalism.

LAM   April 17th, 2008 10:50 am ET

Thank God somebody's able to make light of this debacle we call an election :)

lars   April 17th, 2008 10:50 am ET

His problem was not having the Scientology machine behind him,
the way Clinton does, keeping her in the race.

Alex H   April 17th, 2008 10:50 am ET

Ha! Not bad, Mitt. Not bad!

Creative Woody   April 17th, 2008 10:50 am ET

Pretty clever, I must say.

Democrat.

tiredof politics   April 17th, 2008 10:50 am ET

Romney found out the hard way that money doesn't buy everthing. At the end of the day he felt her a total loser.

Paul   April 17th, 2008 10:49 am ET

Who cares Mr Romney

HILLARY-PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

trellskig   April 17th, 2008 10:48 am ET

Is he seriously trying to be funny…huh? hahaha

Silly Romney   April 17th, 2008 10:48 am ET

jokes are for comedians!

Kevin, MN   April 17th, 2008 10:47 am ET

That's almost as hilarious as the amount of money you wasted on your campaign, Mit.

Michael   April 17th, 2008 10:47 am ET

Why are we wasting news space with this article? Does anyone really care that Mitt had some writer put down a top ten list for him. This story should be on the back space of the Utah Times.

***AMERICAN***   April 17th, 2008 10:44 am ET

I like a man who can laugh at himself. Way to go Mitt!

Sharon Minnesota   April 17th, 2008 10:44 am ET

Not so funny in light of what's happening in Texas right now. Yes, I know the "official" Mormon church doesn't practice pologamy but the stigma is still there from the founders and the "prophet" of this church.

Pologamy is not the only illegal problem the Texas compound faces. Chilld abuse is not only illegal but fundamentally horribly immoral and cruel.

Anonymous   April 17th, 2008 10:43 am ET

If he was that funny during the campaign he might have lasted a little longer, won, or had a better shot at VP

John, Atlanta   April 17th, 2008 10:42 am ET

The best team in politics?? Surely you guys joust with those HUGH pinheads..

azher   April 17th, 2008 10:42 am ET

DEE JAY in MIMIA   April 17th, 2008 10:40 am ET

WHO CARES ABOUT HIM

Pennsylvania Democrat   April 17th, 2008 10:40 am ET

You're not funny, Mitt. Stick with what your good at, being an empty void to be filled with lies and political tactics

The Dude   April 17th, 2008 10:39 am ET

That dinner was hilarious, especially when Mo Rocca started making fun of Dick Cheney.

Mike   April 17th, 2008 10:38 am ET

Romney, you could not have won with the support of the Osmonds, The Jackson 5, or The Supremes.

Gee, I hope you are not being considered for McCain's VP slot.

Sterling Brown, Kansas City, MO   April 17th, 2008 10:37 am ET

actually pretty funny, but obviously we should all be able to see that Mr. Mitt did rhe Dem's a favor. he forcasted a preview into some of the Repub's attack points in the fall.

But still, pretty funny.

I wonder if Mitt was ever living in one of those polygamist camps though, he kinda has that Warren Jeffs look about him.

candian mister   April 17th, 2008 10:37 am ET

i actually liked romney!

Marc in DeKalb, IL   April 17th, 2008 10:36 am ET
