Obama says Clinton’s criticism is off-base.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pennsylvania (CNN) - Defending himself against criticism from Hillary Clinton that he's been "complaining about the hard questions he was asked" during Wednesday's debate, Barack Obama said Friday he's not the one who's been griping.

Upon exiting his plane on the tarmac in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, the Illinois senator was asked by a reporter at he thought of Clinton's comments.

"Did you hear me complain?" he responded, adding: "You tell me who's been complaining about the press over the last six months."

Clinton told an interviewer Friday morning that Obama "spent all day (Thursday)" complaining over tough debate queries. "Being asked tough questions in a debate is nothing like the pressures you face inside the White House," she said.

At a previous debate in Ohio, Clinton had criticized the moderators for always asking her the first question and for appearing to favor Obama.

"Maybe we should ask Barack if he's comfortable and needs another pillow," she added then.

Senator Clinton is the one who have been complaining for months. She claims she has the experience and can take the heat, yet for months she has complained about gettting the first question all the time in debates, the media favors Barack, and whatever else she wanted to throw out there...Barack has taken it all and notes it is part of politics. If she is so ready and have been through all this during her husband's years in the office, she wouldn't have griped and complained about anything.

Instead of dealing with the real issues, ABC wanted to continue to address silly issues that do not even matter and Clinton delighted in it because she could continue to be the divisive, character-lacking person she has shown herself to be. I am glad that Obama does not come down to her level because he had many chances to address her baggage, but he remains true to himself and go the high road. In the debate he could have addressed her "misspeaking" about Bosnia but he didn't pursue that opportunity, yet every chance she get she tries to use her kitchen tactics, but they just don't work for her and Bill because people are smarter than they think. It is a new day and I hope the people in PA join the movement for change.

Obama is becoming unhinged. Is this the person you want leading the free world?

MyObama   April 18th, 2008 9:11 pm ET

Are you kidding me!! Lets check the facts:
1) Hill: the media is baised against me...
2) Hill: why do I keep getting all the first questions....
3) Hill: can we get barack another pillow...
4) Hill: I mispoke (lied) about Bosnia...
There is just not enough room to write all the C**p she's said over the last 15 months.

It was about time someone ask him about at least one of his friends. They didn't ask about his cocaine dealer, Larry Sinclair or his muslem buddy Rezko and the list could go on and on. Every reporter out there has asked Hillary about her husband's extra marital affair, but no one asked Obama if there was any truth to his affair with Larry Sinclair.

Has anyone else received these calls from the Obama campaign where the lady says I was a Hillary supporter and am now Obama supporter because Hillary got negative and continues to go on about Hillary. I had this on my answer machine this evening and called back the number on my caller ID and got a volunteer. I said this is ridiculous. You say Hillary is negative and your call is negative. Right? She said you have a point. I do have a POINT. All the people for Obama that say Hillary is negative if you don't realize that Obama is as well then something is really wrong and I am not Annie Oakley!

Obama whining about tough questions? Every day we find out more negative character traits about this "man". He hasn't even seen what the republicans will do to him and he is already crying.. Hillary is more of a man than Obama it seems.

This undemocratic primary has shown just how badly the system needs to be fixed. It does not represent the will of the people. The undemocratic party is run by hypocrits. If michigan and florida voters were allowed to be heard then Clinton would be ahead. Punishing the voters is wrong no matter what the reason.

I have had it with the undemocratic party. This primary is a farce. If Obama steals this nomination I am voting for McCain.

Dori in AZ   April 18th, 2008 8:50 pm ET

Folks are worried about McCain tearing into Obama. I'm sure they will, as they would any opposition. Personally, I think Obama can handle it.

Hillary getting the nomination makes it easy for the McCain camp. They have many areas to chose from. To keep it simple, they can play one reoccurring theme: her dishonesty.

For one example, they can focus on the sniper fire tale. Over and over again, they can show the video of Hillary's account about her terrifying landing in Bosnia and her run for cover from snipers.

They can show the video of the actual "meet and greet" ceremony that discounts the story about being under duress and under actual attack. Hillary and Chelsea both look like they're enjoying themselves. No bullets are whizzing by. No one's running for cover.

They can play the tape of Hillary dismissing her lies as something that she misspoke on one occasion, and her explanation of it happening late at night and she was tired. And, hey, she's human.

They can play her ads about who we want answering the 3 AM phone call....

They can play the tape of Bill reminding everyone that it was only one time late at night, and that Hillary was tired, and that at 60, others might not remember well either.... Okay. Maybe they'll leave that one out since it will remind everyone that McCain is even older....

They can give site the multiple times that Hillary stated the same elaborate lie, the dates and times of day, as well as the various locations.... Just the facts, Ma'am.

Then, to the tune of some favorite patriotic tune, they can show footage of McCain as a young POW who really did have to deal with sniper fire and being shot down.

If I can come up with that stuff, you can bet the highly paid and professional McCain strategists will have that and much more.

Enough said.

Obama 2008!

Thank god for all the whining! If there was no whining people might have noticed Charles Gibbson had to explain to Obama how capital gains tax rate affects the economy, twice! Please let's talk about issues if your for Clinton or Mccain, Obama keep whining maybe no one will notice.

Isabeau   April 18th, 2008 8:38 pm ET

All you Hillary supporters are wearing blinders, when the first 45 minutes of a debate consists of accusations and idiocracy, then they finally get to the meat of it, Hillary is disappointed because she thrives on backbiting, and they call Obama a whiner because he wanted to get into the important things like issues that define our situation in the world, instead of wasting time on stuff that should have been left at the door for this one. CRYBABY? WHINER? Oh Please!! All of you are so mesmerized and brainwashed by Hillary and by the media that you can't see the man in front of your faces is the one who stands for freedom and justice and a new and honest White House. You want the same old thing for the next 8 years? Shame on all of you. Shame!!! Maybe Obama refuses to sling mud at Hillary even though he has plenty to swing, maybe he is a good man who won't stoop to her tactics, but it looks like that is all you Hillary people understand. You are all just as dirty as she is. Clinton will shame and destroy our country... you think people aren't bitter? Let her run the country, and in the first 3 months everyone will understand bitter better! OBAMA ALL THE WAY. OBAMA 08

OBAMA IS NOT THE COMPLAINER..........HILLARY IS!!! POOR ME YOU ALWAYS ASK ME THE FIRST QUESTION.STOP PICKING ON ME. AND "SENIOR MOMENTS" TO QUOTE HER HUSBAND.DO YOU WANT A PERSON W/ SENIOR MOMENTS ANSWERING THE 3AM PHONE CALL?

WHY ISN'T ANYONE TALKING ABOUT HOW HILLARY WAS GIVING THE QUESTIONS AHEAD OF TIME BY GEORGE STEFO????. SO SHE COULD REHEARSE HER ANSWERS. TO TRY AND LOOK PRESIDENTAL.

WHY ISN'T ANYONE TALKING ABOUT SEAN HANNITY GIVING GEORGE STEFO????? THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE VIETNAM WAR HATER TO ATTACK OBAMA WITH. WHY IS HANNITY INVOLVED IN THIS AT ALL.THEY HAVE IT ON TAPE,I HEARD IT ON A HONEST NEWS SHOW.

BESIDES THE FACT THE "BAD GUY" DID THE BOMBINGS WHEN OBAMA WAS 8.***WOW HILLARY YOU ARE REALLY DESPERATE**** IF THIS "BOMBER" IS SO BAD WHY IS HE A PROFESSOR AT A UNITIED STATES UNIVERISITY? YOU SCREWED UP AGAIN HILLARY. IT IS A NON-ISSUE.

SOMEONE NEEDS TO ASK HILLARY ABOUT THE SKELATONS IN HER CLOSET. TELLING BILL IN THE 90's "SCREW PENNSYLVANIA YOU DON'T NEED THEM". WELL....HILLARY NEEDS THEM NOW. SHE IS FOR NAFTA TILL IT IS NOT GOOD FOR HER CAMPAIGN. SHE CHANGED HER HEALTH CARE PLAN TO LOOK MORE LIKE OBAMA'S IN THE BEGINING.SHE LIED ABOUT SNIPER FIRE. THE CLINTONS TOOK $700,000 FROM NAFTA RECENTLY. THEY ARE BANKROLLED BY SPECIAL INTEREST & BIG BUSINESS. LIES ABOUT FORIEGN POLICY EXPERIENCE. CLINTON ALSO A FRIEND OF OBAMA'S EX-PASTOR, THERE ARE PICTURES TO PROVE IT.

ALL AMERICANS NEED TO KNOW HILLARY WAS A REPUBLICAN UNTIL SHE MARRIED BILL. AND SHE SAID EARLY IN THIS CAMPAIGN THAT SHE WOULD RATHER HAVE JOHN MC CAIN AS A RUNNING MATE THAN ANY OF THE DEMOCRATS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT. DOES THAT SOUND LIKE A PRESIDENT FOR CHANGE?

SHE TOOK UP THE "CHANGE" BANNER CUS IT WAS WORKING FOR OBAMA..........THE ONLY TRUE CHANGE CANIDATE.

AND FURTHER MORE WHY IS AN EX-EMPLOYEE OF THE CLINTONS ONE OF THE MODERATORS OF THIS FEASCOE? GEORGE STEF??? WAS A LONG TIME EMPLOYEE OF BILL & HILLARY.

HILLARY CAN'T TAKE THE HEAT OF BEING ASKED QUESTIONS FIRST IN A REAL DEBATE HOW IS SHE GOING TO REACT WHEN FACED W/O LIFE OR DEATH OF AMERICAN CITIZENS?

SHE SCARES ME TO DEATH PEOPLE........AND I VOTED FOR HER HUSBAND TWICE. ALSO I AM ONE OF THOSE LOW INCOME, MIDDLE AGED WHITE WOMEN THEY SAY OBAMA CAN'T GET..........BELIEVE HE CAN GET THEM AND THEIR HUSBANDS TOO. I HAVE HEARD MORE DEMS SAY IF GOD FORBID SHE DOES BECOME ARE NOMINEE THEY WILL VOTE FOR MC CAIN OR NOT AT ALL. SO THAT MEANS WE WOULD HAVE 4 MORE YRS OF BUSH. WHICH I DON'T THINK HILLARY WOULD MIND CUS SHE IS A REPUBLICAN AT HEART........WE CAN SEE THAT IN HER WORDS AND ACTIONS.

We cannot afford a President like Hillary Clinton she is sadly good at twisting everything Barack Obama say or do. She is in big time denial if she call questions about Obama wearing the China made flag on his lapel, the bitter issue that was no issue at all that she spinned out of context, question about someone he knew when he was 8 years old and all the other nonsense questions that have nothing to do with the real life issues that effect everyones daily living. We as Obama has said lets talk about issues on the economy, how to bring our troops home from Iraq safely, things that really matter down with the shallow nonsense, mountian out of a mold hill that is being taking out of context in the worse way just for power as Hillary and John McCann is doing I have none what so ever for any of these people who so unfairly bash Barack Obama as if he is doing something wrong when he isn't doing anything worse than any one else. Hillary also made comment that one can pick their pastor. I say to her one also can pick their husband and she picked a cheater for a husband and has choose to stay with him in all the cheating he has done and one can't help but wonder if this is a marriage of convenience what other reason would someone stay with a cheater???? I turn to religion and pray in the name of Jesus that their conscious if they have one will disturb them to repentance. I continue to pray for Barack Obama to hold on to God unchanging hand surf on in strentgh God knows your heart and he DAME those that would curse you unfairly. Remember Jesus DAMED all evil look what he did to the hipocrites in the temple the sauducees, the pharasees, Jesus DAMED them all. He said CURSE BE UNTO YOU YOU HIPOCRITES. I am finding out that there must be many hipocrites out there seeing what is being done to Barack Obama.

You know what's funny? People are making this a black and white issue...and Obama is both! Although I am a registered Republican, I really think Obama is a wonderful choice. He inspires US to make the change...not just himself. He knows that he can't do it alone. Don't even get me started on Hillary. I've never liked her. I do respect what she has tried to do for children and healthcare, but I just can't stomach her. I am voting Obama...

Mike in Houston   April 18th, 2008 8:04 pm ET

Welcome to the real world Barack. This is just the beginning. Best get prepared on the issues. Change, change change doesn't hold up under scrutinity. Clinton trounced you in the debate and showed how shallow and without merit your campaign is.

Ask Rezko and Wright for pointers next time.

Lynn D   April 18th, 2008 8:01 pm ET

Senator Clinton was stating a fact. She appeared to receive the first question at previous debates which allowed Senator Obama extra time to think of a response and in addition it permitted him to say he agreed with Senator Clinton when he maybe did not know the answer to a question. No one can argue that senator Clinton's responses to questions are detailed and she has a wealth of knowledge on issues and solutions to the problems that affect this nation. I beleive Senator Obama was ticked because he was not used to being grilled so harshly. Senator Clinton has been tested again and again in the last 18 years and she has been able to handle herself with ease and efficiency.

I posted this a few times before the story was printed in its entirety, but want to be sure the message gets through the flood of comments!!

Please, I beg Obama supporters to hold your tongues on this one. I just got done listening (again) to the I Want Change video, and for those of you who are invested in this campaign on behalf of Obama, remember the words "we are not as divided as our politics suggest". They are reverberating through my mind, particularly now.

If we sink to this level, than we are no better than what he's worked so hard to reject.

We can support Obama (Yes We Can!) without resorting to the politics of divisiveness and cruelty. The man wants to take us to a plane we have yet to reach, but we need to really listen to what he's said to get there.

Senator Clinton will dig her own grave...she needs no help from us!

It's fairly easy to be a great speaker ... that's why Reagan and Clinton were perceived to be SO GREAT ... because they could inspire so eloquently ... they made us WANT to believe them ... so we believed them. But if Hilliary made Obama look bad (which she did ... sorry Obama guys ... nothing was rigged ... the sly old gal simply whipped his little butt!) I can't wait to watch McCain wipe him out!

At a small closed-door fundraiser after Super Tuesday, Sen. Hillary Clinton blamed what she called the "activist base" of the Democratic Party - and MoveOn.org in particular - for many of her electoral defeats, saying activists had "flooded" state caucuses and "intimidated" her supporters, according to an audio recording of the event obtained by The Huffington Post.

"Moveon.org endorsed - which is like a gusher of money that never seems to slow down," Clinton said to a meeting of donors. "We have been less successful in caucuses because it brings out the activist base of the Democratic Party. MoveOn didn't even want us to go into Afghanistan. I mean, that's what we're dealing with. And you know they turn out in great numbers. And they are very driven by their view of our positions, and It's primarily national security and foreign policy that drives them. I don't agree with them. They know I don't agree with them. So they flood into these caucuses and dominate them and really intimidate people who actually show up to support me."

Tim , Seattle   April 18th, 2008 7:07 pm ET

Charlotte.....dont be a fool. I am responding to this cut-and-paste post you keep dropping everywhere.
An independant run by either Hillary or Barack would just end up a 45-25-25 split favoring McCain. She still loses!!
Just admit your candidate is losing and move on with your life (or get one).
You will feel better, I promise!

James   April 18th, 2008 7:07 pm ET

Who are the people complaining now? I will say all you bloggers. Stop... stop... stop. It's about time that we all come together to defeat McCain in November.

Giselle, Atlanta   April 18th, 2008 7:03 pm ET

From my perspective, Barack handled himself very well during the debate. Although much time was wasted in rehashing issues that had already been discussed ad nauseum, he remained poised and positive. In fact, he is the one who cut short a discussion of Hillary's admitted lie regarding the Bosnia trip. And when she very disingenuously criticized Barack for his connection to Roy Ayers, Barack's response that Bill Clinton actually pardoned two of those terrorists was the pinnacle of the evening, IMO. Hillary lost any chance of getting a vote from me with that one. Not only was her critique of Barack disingenuous...it just wasn't that bright to bring that up, IMO. Not very impressive at all for anyoe who was actually LISTENING to the responses rather than being enraptured by the questions.

Those who say that Hillary won the debate are biased and clueless.

To Hillary Clinton supporters; are you trying to tell America your candidate does not complain? Because there is a lot of proof. We all know Hillary has a lot of skeletons in her closet, Obama just chooses not to go there. And to those who are going to vote for McCain if Obama wins the nomination, go ahead, the party will not miss you; you are not a true DEMOCRAT anyway. Maybe Hillary should run as McCain's VP. Just saying!

Charlotte   April 18th, 2008 6:56 pm ET

Obama is spending, what was it, 3 or 4 times the money and can't knock her out? I think it is amazing how much he is spending to even make a dent? Wait until he has a general election to compete in, if that happens? I still think Hillary needs to run as an Independent in November, the Obama-bots are going to blame her anyway. They have to have someone to blame for everything he says that comes back to haunt him. It is like a parent who cannot believe their child is capable of any wrong doing. LMAO

Janice   April 18th, 2008 6:55 pm ET

Hillary honey, take your meds, shut up and retire to a little island somewhere.

LT for Obama   April 18th, 2008 6:55 pm ET

She is losing and so anything goes.

As an admitted liar, I have no desire to see her win this nomination. She needs to step back and really look at how this campaign has turned around on her.

I would have had far more respect for her had she not continued to attack Barack during the debate and supported him trying to get back on the issues like he supported her "misspeaking", oh that's right, she admitted to actually, knowingly lying about Bosnia and other things she "misspoke" about.

Tex-Gal   April 18th, 2008 6:55 pm ET

Excuse me, but how can Hillary be anti-American? Has she ever been confused of her national sovereignty or ethnic race? I vividly remember her physical involvement in helping the minorities, and the oppressed, through her political activities for decades. How soon people forget . She knows the ins and outs of Washington politics.

I know that Obama got endorsed by two former very notable Democratic senators, but find out which corporate boards they represent, is it oil companies, etc.? Did one of them endorse a Republican for supreme court justice? The Columbia $800,000 issue is irrelevant. The monies paid to the former president for his speeches, and their income is personal, and is not tied to the election, as is Obama's loan and real estate deal from Rezko, if no illegality is involved.

Hillary will be ready on day one, she has potitics in her blood, a natural-born politician.

Retired Navy Veteran   April 18th, 2008 6:55 pm ET

Read the comments and understand why politicians are such lying dirtbags. People search for evidence to support their candidate rather than looking at the evidence and then choosing a cadidate. People on this blog are saying things like "time to examine character "(in regards to Obama). But you dems said you didn't want character to be debated during Clinton's first run (let's debate the issues, not character because our guy is an obvious dirtbag). Women are supporting Hillary because she is a woman (which is wrong, she is a politician and they aren't human), and blacks support Obama because he is black. Most of you are complete losers who shouldn't be allowed to vote. If you wanted the world to be flat you would look for evidence to support. Nobody who is thinking at all cannot know that Hillary lies at the drop of a hat, and she clearly doesn't care about her constituents. If she did care, she would have dropped out long ago. But Hillary figures she can run again in 4 years if she trashes Obama now. How do any of you figure she cares about you when she behaves this way? How can you be such lemmings? How can you go through life deciding what to believe and then looking for evidence to support that belief? Do any of you realize that if you grew up in Saudi or Jordan you would be willing to kill women and children to get your 70 virgins? If you still suppport Hillary, you are ignoring the vast evidence against her and holding up grains of sand in her support. To the person who wrote that character should be examined in this race, open your mind and your eyes. Hillary is proven liar who will say anything (like "its a vast right-wing conspiracy" after her husband abused his power to have sex with a young girl) to get and keep power. She doesn't care about you. She cares about Hillary only. Get a clue people.

That debate was rigged, and it was apparent to everyone.

Ok, the angry man again. Look at his face for God's sake.

Carlos   April 18th, 2008 6:50 pm ET

Good God!!!

The comments that I am reading here are nothing short of baffling. It is that nature of pretisansim to hold to your beliefs regardless evidence and truth. Partisan opinions and commentary, therefore are meaningless. Unfortunately for thos individuals wishing to make an educated and meaningful decision, the pervasiveness of partisanizm in this campaign has completely obscured any vestage of truth.

As an outsider, a fellow citizen of this planet, who is as excited about the prospects implicit in this campaign and who has suffered,to the same degree as every other human being on Earth, under the destabilizing policies of the Bush administration, it pains me greatly to see the level of division and discord in both the Democratic party and -worse perhaps – among the Democratic supporters.

I can not help but believe that partisans on on bothe sides of the party will have the ultimate effect of making McCain look like the best alternative of the three. He seems to have elevated himself above this rediculous fray.

A not to die-hard partisans: SHUT UP!!!

Well,

Hillary cries a lot (recall NH votes)?

Hillary wines and complains more than my daughter ("Meet me in Texas," "Shame on you ..." "Bill, please leave this snpier stuff to me..."). "She is a disgrace to women" my daughter often reminds me.

Hillary cannot afford to return a man who has been "impeached" and one who publicly lied with his pointing fingers to our White House. I cannot live with such a nightmare for this nation. "I never made to that woman.."

Joe   April 18th, 2008 6:48 pm ET

Educated by CNN ... how many of you are watching John Adams on HBO? Clearly only a few ... so sad! Every bit of this is nonsense! How many of you think you know how much in taxes you paid in 2007? If you think you know the answer to that then you're either uneducated or you just aren't smart enough to read into the actual question! Unless you keep receipts on all the goods you buy and calculate the taxes referenced on all those receipts over the entire year ... then you really have no idea how much money you give to your government! That's not America! Why any of you would vote for either of these buffoons (whom have convinced you that we should pay more in taxes to try to make life fair for everyone ... which will never happen anyway) is beyond me! It's not fair ... Mr. President make life fair for me ... boo hoo ... ALL LIBERALS ARE WHINERS!

Obama wasn't complaining about having a tough debate, he was complaining that yet again, everyone wants to focus on the fluff and no one wants to debate the issues. If people want to rehash the same old comments that have already been addressed over and over again, because somehow the 47th time they are brought up will make a difference, then go ahead. That's not what I want to watch in a debate, and that's not what Senator Obama wants to participate in. Who could blame him.

The ABC Presidential "debate" was a farce and both moderators absolutely attacked Obama, argued with him over his answers and pushed hard to get answers that would "trap" him. While Hillary laughed like a teenager at his answers and his annoyance that the moderators cut him off at each explanation. Hillary and Bill later derided Obama on not being able to "take the heat." This is strange due to the fact that Hillary recently sent letters to MSNBC complaining bitterly that these networks were "attacking" her and they should cease and desist at once! as they were not treating her as well as Fox News and some of the other Clinton supporting media. She talked about how tough it was for she & Bill in the white house, but did not mention why the media and congress was so hard on them. It was because they were found to be liars and crooks who scammed the American people. Obama has no such record or experience and will not bring disgrace to Americans, by acting like Bill Clinton did as president.

I have watched every debate that the dems have had; and I am sorry this was the worst......One question to Clinton on her lie and that was it. She had several things they could of asked her and they didn't. The only time I have seen a good debate and that was with Tim Russet.

CNN UTubes were okay, but please let's get real.

JF Las Vegas   April 18th, 2008 6:42 pm ET

Hillalry is accusing Obama of complaining – what about her whining and turning on the fake tears just before major primaries?

I am curious to see what takes place in the Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday, April 25. I have not seen anything in the news covereage regarding the fraud case against Bill and Hillary Clinton. Why hasn't either CNN or Fox News said anything about this incident? Is it true or is it false? Come on news channels, give it to us. The news media sure can dredged it up on Obama, but certainly not Clinton. What a shame and disgrace this is to the American voters. We deserve to know everything about Hillary, just like she feels we need to know everything about Obama!

Didn't Hillary complain during a debate about getting all of the hard questions first?

Didn't she appeal to SNL's skit about her getting all of the tough questions?

At least the tough questions she got were about policy and her positions. They were not about who she knew and what they did 40 years ago.

Here is our challenge; ( no matter who becomes our President )" A person making $ 18.000.- during January 2009 will be making no more than $ 21.000.- in January 2013, people that do not have health insurence in January 2009 will remain without it in January 2013 and the level of military interventionm in Iraq today will be just about the same in January 2013. Guess what will be the situation in January 2017...!!!!!

If almost 60% of American's don't trust the woman, how could she possibly believe she could be elected President? Dream on! (The sure way to make sure the GOP keep control of the White House is to nominate Clinton for the Democratic nod....!)

From every news show I've watched since the debates, no one has said Senator Obama was complaining, though a number of them commented on the foolishly relentless questioning about non-issues.

Senator Clinton is not going to win the nomination, she will loose this election. It's high time that the Democratic Party put it's full weight and strength behind the only canidate we have that can win, Senator Barack Obama.

Obama and his cult members may want to start a riot if either Clinton or McCain defeat their idol, but don't worry – the police will take care of them. They are used to spending time behind bars anyway. Ask the Weather Underground radical.

Sen. Obama not only did you not complain you spoke with great confidence in a sound and firm voice unlike Hilly she on the other hand I found to be a pesky fly swarming all over the place in search for any person she could irritate. She went from you to Bush switching back and forth so i her infamous efforts to deflect her listens from her lack of substance and half lies and to do as she has become known to do not answer directly any answer she chooses not to answer, it is for this reason after long drawn out spins and attacks she was repeatedly asked to answer the question that had been asked.

This put more focus on her lack and a greater sense of desperation. There were at least three times she had to shut her mouth after Obama came back with the truth that she was trying to put her infamous spins on,

This woman has no morals she is shady in all she does even when her i giving her best efforts of being sincere.

This race is nothing but a popularity contest. It's just like "American Idol". The most popular, the cutest or the most likable takes the lead over talent, experience and best person for the position. Our country is doomed because people are latching onto a "fad" candidate in Obama. Give me substance, give me dependability, give me a woman who loves this country and has sacraficed a great deal in her lifetime to fight for the citizens of this country. The people of this country treat Hillary with as much disdain and ambivilance as they do veterans and law enforcement. This country pays boys millions of dollars to play with a ball but pays their lifeline personnel barely enough to feed themselves. All this blather over the great white/black Obama when he can't even make a decision about lunch much less defending this great country. You better wake up people, nothing last forever and don't think that this country can't be brought to her knees by the carelessness in which we the people treat her.Hillary Clinton is not the most popular or the most liked for a reason. because she's a fighter and she rocks the boat, which is exactly what this country NEEDS right now.

That anyone would be stupid enough to support 4 to 8 more years of a pseudo democracy under another Clinton. In Obama we have a fresh, untainted dedicated, intelligent alternative. If we blow this election we will have only ourselves to blame for more war and more corruption.

Shirley, Silicon Valley, CA   April 18th, 2008 6:20 pm ET

According to Hillary, Hillary spews "millions of words every week" and often times those words are meaningless or make her a pathological liar in the Bosnia sniper fire case when caught on tape!

I am BITTER because Hillary humiliated women who bake cookies while I was baking cookies before I rushed to work at that time! I am BITTER because Hillary disgraces and trashes women by playing dirty,

Go Obama!

Former Obama Supporter   April 18th, 2008 6:20 pm ET

When Hillary mentioned that the media was unfair, the Obama camp said that it wasn't true. But when the media is unfair to Obama they go crying and complaining. I am just so tired of Obama. He will never get my vote.
Hillary or McCain.

TO PETER HOUSTON TX....
I THINK OBAMA ALSO SAID THAT HE HAS ALWAYS SAID THAT ABSOLUTELY HILLARY COULD WIN.....

Venus   April 18th, 2008 6:20 pm ET

Hillary doesn't have any one to play with. It's down to Obama and Mc Cain! Hey – by the way- thanks Hillary for the debate the other night!
I finally read what ABC really stands for: All Bout Clintons! Hillary – have you noticed that Obama has gotten 80-superdelegates to your 5 since Feb/08? If I were you – I would start making those 3:00 AM calls!
It's great to see a rookie take on you and Bill!

Tim   April 18th, 2008 6:19 pm ET

Since February, Obama has had 80 Superdelegates come out for him (plus I believe 3 more today) and Clinton has 5. When you are getting the hide kicked out of you, you have to make up whatever garbage you can but it's not working this time. Sorry Hill...the ship is sinking.

This stat was in the NY Times today by the way.

obamamama   April 18th, 2008 6:18 pm ET

I’ve lost so much respect for BOTH Clintons in the past few months. I’ve heard people talk about the “Clinton Machine” and I always thought it was right-wing propaganda. But the way they try to change the rules and try the ol’ “I’m rubber you’re glue” bit is SO petty. They must count on the 24 hour news cycle. Because one day we need to count every vote and the next “there’s no such thing as a pledged delegate”. I’m glad to see its not working. :)

This woman and big Bill are absolutely amazing how they spin things!!!!!!!!!!!!! they talk as if the electorate are complete idiots and cant see all their baloney every day...he never complained he was making light of the situation and ridiculing the debate format a bit (which he had every right to do, it was ludicrous ABC and should be ashamed)..come on Hillary why cant you see what EVERYONE ELSE sees..Its over for you on May 6th..KO!!! Even your old friends cant support you anymore!!!!!!!!!

Charlotte   April 18th, 2008 6:16 pm ET

Kathleen, your bankrupt vocabulary is showing again. Hillary should get out of this rigged primary. She needs to save her war chest and run as an Independent in November. A viable third party candidate, for the first time in my adult life, I could vote for an independent and be very proud to do so.

Senator Clinton and Senator McCain are desperate. You really ARE the "teflon candidate"!

And what is your teflon shield? The truth, and a calm demeanor. All the garbage they and Big Media hurl at you just sluces right off, like water off a duck's back.

Keep up the good work, Senator Obama!

If Obama wins the nomination, the debates with McCain will get high ratings as people always like to watch someone get ripped apart. I may even feel sorry for the pompus jerk, Obama, as he makes a total fool out of himself. He is out of his league. Stick to bowling.

Jim from Missouri   April 18th, 2008 6:15 pm ET

Hey Independent Butler.... wait, how can you be an independent Butler?

Oh, I get it... You're an independent... (really) ... from Butler..

If you're really independent. I have a few questions for you. How many times have you voted Democrat in a national election?

How many times have you voted.... period?

On what basis do you make your voting decisions?

I've voted over 40 years in national elections, most of the time for Republican candidates. I consider myself a conservative ... with libertarian leanings, but I will be voting for Obama in November.... and not because he is the lesser of two evils.

Look at the facts:
1. Our country is by far the strongest in the world.... yet we cannot defend ourselves against a small group of wacked out terrorists... why?
2. Our infrastructure continues to deteriorate... our roads and bridges are literally falling apart.... why?
3. We've allowed ourselves to be virtually extorted for our energy needs.... i.e.: despite a very clear understanding over the last 35 years that we need to become energy independent... we have become more and more energy dependent.... at an increasingly high cost..... Why?
4. We've allowed our educational system to deteriorate over the last 35 years to the point where 25% of our young people drop out short of a high school diploma.... and an additional 20 to 25% border on functional illiteracy.... Why?

The reality is that we have become more interested in pointing the finger at the other guy than we are in solving our problems. Barack Obama has the potential to motivate enough of us.... to join together to address these issues. Look at what he's done so far. He's brought a huge number of young people into the political process. He's reached out across the political spectrum to (real) independents and Republicans because he does not speak down to them... or minimize their concerns and views.

Wake up .... it is long past time for a change ..... and Barack Obama is the President who can bring us together to achieve it!

vic nashville,Tn   April 18th, 2008 6:15 pm ET

CNN you should be ashame of yourself. At first I was against Fox News for bragging about being "fair and balanced", however, now they are far more "fair and balanced" than you and MSNBC. I perceive CNN and MSNBC trying to select Senator Obama instead of letting the people elect a candidate, SHAME ON YOU. I am so fed up with you investigating everything about Senator Clinton and giving Senator Obama a free ride. No one really knows too much about Senator Obama because everyone is afraid of being called racist. Senator Obama really knows how to play the race card. I have never seen a black politician play the race card as effective as this senator. No one has even mentioned the name LARRY SINCLAIR, I had to go to the internet to get information about that situation. SHAME ON YOU if it was something like that on Senator Clinton you guys would have been all over it. If Senator Obama wins for the Democrats I will vote for Senator McCain. I am not a bitter white man, I am an angry black man who believe in fairness. Wolf and Cooper you truly disappoint me but it doesn't matter because I am just the average guy.

George   April 18th, 2008 6:14 pm ET

After a small taste of what Hillary has been going through for the past few months, Obama is already whining. Hillary is a stronger person and can get along on her own. Obama is weak and too new at this game. He finally started getting the tougher questions, and he couldn't answer them. I don't remember Hillary struggling...

HILLARY 08

Ever notice how the Clintonistas lie and distort everything? Now tell me-what exactly is the difference between Hillary and the Republicans. I haven't heard one clip about him complaining. He dusted it off his shoulders-the only really appropriate response. Hillary's the one that whines and complains. Good thing she's on her way out!

Brett Albert   April 18th, 2008 6:12 pm ET

wow, he said he didn't want to debate after this past debate was over. someone's well informed.

Dori in AZ   April 18th, 2008 6:11 pm ET

Hillary doesn't answer tough questions, so that means she can't handle pressure. She evades (as Chelsea has learned to do) and lies, attempting to create a stronger image of herself and to cover for her severe inadequacies. Instead, that shatters it except for her most ardent supporters.

The woman can't handle a debate, much less real life. Under stress, she sounds whiny and almost stutters. Her eyes widen and her mouth gapes dramatically like some cartoon caricature.

After telling elaborate lies that she thinks will benefit her (as long as no one notices. . .), Hillary comes up with lame excuses that wouldn't hold in any court room, and refers to them as having misspoken. Or that, gee, by golly, that just goes to show she's only human and that that may surprise people. . . .

Surprise people to learn that Hillary is human? How condescending! What did she think I thought she was? A deity?

No thanks. This woman is voting Obama 2008!

P.S.
Hillary's dysfunctional campaign (campaign debt, Mark Penn and husband) is an example of her future Presidency

victor owens   April 18th, 2008 6:10 pm ET

The debate was a Washington staged all to favour their candidate Hilary. Obviosly the Abc debate was sponsored by the Clitons it was all evident by the manner of questioning etc Hilary knew inadvance the mode and type of questions to expect so she was all smiling; A nd even at that, Obama was Presidential in answering all the tough questions to the disappiontment of all. Hilary belives Americans owns her not only the right to be president but also to be crowned asQUEEN HILARY OF AMERICA. I have never seen such a proud and arrogant woman in all my life my view reflects the views of many people around the world.

Media hype nonsense. The real story is that they're both socialists ... as it appears much of our nation is. So fat dumb and happy that we're too blind to see that federal power (high taxes) has eroded our true strength ... freedom! We're just another socialist nation riding on the coattails of our past success (which existed in the first place due to individual freedom). We want life to be fair ... yet it never has been ... is nature fair? Freedom = Power = Money ... Higher taxes = Power to government ... Lower taxes = Power to the People! Do you really think the government will make your life fair? All liberals are Whiners!

Question for Obama supporters: What would he actually change?

DJ, LA, CA   April 18th, 2008 6:07 pm ET

Enough of Clinton's scorched earth negativity towards Obama. All she does is attack him.

The reason is that in case people haven't noticed...she is LOSING!

Please Hillary drop-out. You can attack him all you want but it won't change the fact that you are losing by a lot and have no chance.

Unless of course you CHEAT by changing the party rules that were decided upon and agreed to (you signed the papers) before the election even started.

Jack in ND   April 18th, 2008 6:06 pm ET

All these "Democrats" who are equating those who oppose Hillary Clinton for president with people who don't want a female president are certainly not true Democrats. This is about opposition to Hillary Clinton as president, not opposition to a female as president.

When this country does elect a female president, it should be one who is inspiring and trustworthy...one we'd be proud to see perpetuated in the history books as "America's first female president".

Hillary Clinton ain't that...not by a long shot.

The O   April 18th, 2008 6:05 pm ET

what does it mean when people that have worked with ie. Hillary Clinton, come out and endorse Obama. That tells me that they know who will be the better President no matter what the Clinton supporters want to say, and the Clinton camp try to spin it!!!

OBAMA 08

Silly Hilly People   April 18th, 2008 6:05 pm ET

Was it not Hilliar that whined about getting the first question during debates? And then, Bill laughably says those in the political arena should have thick skins. Then, as if the irony isn't glaring enough, we have the overgrown baby Chelsea saying "none of your business" to "sensitive" questions. Well, which is it, Clintons? Surely that $800k from Colombia can buy you a plausible answer.... Perhaps, if nothing else, you should say goodbye!!! And don't trot that snotty brat Chelsea out again...there's no future in politics for her, as outlined by her own father's criteria.

John   April 18th, 2008 6:04 pm ET

Obama looks a little sreamed, kinda hot under collar.

Mike   April 18th, 2008 6:04 pm ET

AW COME ON!!! Hillary complains and whines every minute. All Obama did was joke (and he was funny) about how that last debate did not ask a single relevant question for the first forty five minutes. Every time Hillary opens her nasty mouth, a lie comes out.

Philip   April 18th, 2008 6:03 pm ET

Well, she not going down without the Democratic Party. She will say anything to win. What does she take the voters for? Few weeks ago she was complaining about getting the first question and now she knows you have to get tougher questions to deserve the nomination.

Linny   April 18th, 2008 6:03 pm ET

OBAMA WAY DOWN AFTER DEBATE, ACCORDING TO THE MOST RECENT GALLOP POLL.

It is telling that CNN lists the Obama story last and that they don't put Robert Reich's name in the headline. But typical.

Amazed   April 18th, 2008 6:00 pm ET

I have looked at all of these comments and all the man said was " Did you hear me complain" and now he is considered the one complaining? What in the world? I was at the town hall meeting yesterday in Raleigh and he was not complaining about the debate. He was responding to a question from someone in the crowd. I can't belive there are so many childish people in the United States. What people need to do is stop basing their opinions on these one sided "snipits" of a statement in the articles put out by these journalist and do some research on their own.

dee, tx   April 18th, 2008 5:59 pm ET

Hillary insist she can beat McCain but she's losing among her own base. We don't need a fighter in the white house, we need a uniter. In HIllary I see a career politician who will say and do anything to gain power. I deeply believe the only reason she voted for the War in Iraq was to show as a woman she could vote for war. She put her ambitions over the lives of our soliders

Alex   April 18th, 2008 5:59 pm ET

Yes, we did hear you complaining. Did you think you were behind closed doors? You complained DURING the debate, taking up your own time by complaining about how much time they were wasting on questions you didn't want to answer.

Every clip from your stump speeches I've seen since then was of you complaining, oh, excuse me, making terribly witty remarks, about the same topic.

You were unprepared for obvious questions. You got flustered and shorted yourself on time for easier questions. If you have to negotiate with, oh say, Russia or China, are you going to complain that they keep wanting to talk about things that don't interest you?

You blew the debate! Suck it up and move on. Quit playing noble victim.

rod   April 18th, 2008 5:59 pm ET

Open sesame! Praise ye Obama all Obama's host. Obama is the good-luck charm, the lucky piece, the rabbit's-foot, and the wish-bringer to today's American voter and the DNC's Superdelegates. Obama and Obama's Superdelegates will ghost dance in the magic circle durning the nomination victory. Obama will also put a Superdelegate and supporter in a trance with conjure up speeches of change. Count on Obama's vital force in numbers to win the election.

Isaac   April 18th, 2008 5:59 pm ET

Sorry but this one is going to be a losing battle for Obama, I think he might want to stay quiet on this issue. There are numerous reports about how much more negative the press have been on Clinton, even in the mainstream media. Besides, Hillary Clinton only pointed out the discrepancy. She didn't complain, and she even went on to say she didn't mind. The only reason she pointed it out is because the media were not doing their jobs at that point in the race and that is the honest to goodness truth. It wasn't until she called attention to it herself that things started to change. Wednesday was hard on Obama but he better toughen up because debates between him and McCain will not be as easy as these ones. And as soon as he starts saying no more debates then he starts looking like a child that can't hack it.

TunnelVision   April 18th, 2008 5:58 pm ET

What I find interesting is that people who are 'SAVVY' according to Pres. Clinton vote Hillary..while people who know the Clintons endorse Obama. Can you see the irony????

Jane, NC   April 18th, 2008 5:58 pm ET

Senator Obama doesn't seem to take pressure well, that's for sure. If the other debates had not been so biased in his favor, I can't imagine that he would have made it this far. I hope he has a cabinet position for the media once they get him elected.

Kevin   April 18th, 2008 5:58 pm ET

Man, you Clinton supporters need to look up the definition of "complain."

Obama says: "That's ok, that's what we expect from Washington." That's not a complaint.

Hillary says: "I just have to say...I always get the first question...and Barack gets easy treatment from the media." THAT'S not only a complaint, but a high-pitched WHINE.

Cheryll   April 18th, 2008 5:58 pm ET

Are our memories that short that we forget New Hampshire where she cried because she thought everyone was picking on her? Please America stop acting STUPID.

Also we really need to be researching this suit that is in the Calfornia courts Peter Paul vs Clintons and Rendell. Just google Peter Paul. I wonder why the media is not picking up on that. Maybe they have been brought by someone.??? Just a question.

Ronald   April 18th, 2008 5:57 pm ET

"Look, I just want to point out that you always ask me the first question!" Whine, Whine, Whine. Hillary! Are you kidding me? Obama is giving voice to the millions who watched the debacle debate and know what a miserable job ABC did. Hillary, no one is listening to you anymore because we don't have time to wait to find out if you tell the truth or not! Our country is in a world of hurt and you just make it worse, Hillary. Now hush!

Barack Obama is the WINNER.

Hilliary Clinton is the WHINER.

There are alot of good, hard-working, and intelligent people in Pennsylvania who know the difference. They know that Hilliary Clinton is full of ...it, when she claims to be pro-labor, and yet she sat on the board of the elitist Wal-Mart Corporation and went right along with Union busting with the fat-cats. The worst part of her campaign is that she thinks others can't tell the truth anymore than she can, and she's wrong about that. People see through her and her pack of lies. Barack Obama handled all of the cheap shots thrown at him by Clintons house-boy, Stephanopoulas, with grace and elegance, continuing to advocate for the people when he simply appealed to the moderators to skip the petty personal attacks and get to the issues so that voters can compare and contrast on bread and butter issues. All Clinton could do was relish the opportunism in the petty personal attacks, and try to score "points," at the expense of the debate on issues–which she would lose, hands down. She is NOT a friend to labor, and I trust that the hard-working people in Pennsylvania will see through her and vote their best interests. VOTE OBAMA!

Mary   April 18th, 2008 5:57 pm ET

You have to commend Senator Obama on his ability to stay cool under fire. It seems it's always three on one, Hillary, Bill, Chelsea on the campaign trail, Hillary, Lap Dog Stephanopolos, and the other Nimrod in that so called debate (more like a lynching if you'll excuse the term), yet Obama hangs in there holding his own ground. If Hillary had to endure this I guess she would just cry so they'd stop picking on "poor little Hillary".

MW Los Angeles   April 18th, 2008 5:56 pm ET

I totally agree with Obama...no compaints just facts. Debate the issues not tabloids and petty crap. She came at him like he was Bill or something. I wonder was she that aggressive with Bill when he was busted, and I aint talking Monica...I'm talking about the many others we haven't heard of!!!

It sadden me how foolish and misunderstanding Clinton supporters are getting. I think they've started swimming in the same hypocrite and stupidity of the Clintons.

Imagine someone that went to national debate to complaining that the media are unfair to her, even her loud mouth after 11pm husband confirmed that the press are too negative to his wife. It is the same Clintons that are now twisting and lieing about Barack's statement.

Why don't you Clinton supports just keep your dirty mouth shut that making same useless speeches as Billary.

Obama.........you contradict yourself.

"Campaign, no more debates'...........and now you are complaining about Clinton.......again.

YOU are the one who insulted the America people in Pennsylvania.......and then 'made light of it'.

This indicates you are too inexperienced to be the leader of our country. Insulting & critical.

Obama lost our vote.

Brian   April 18th, 2008 5:54 pm ET

You want to see complaining? Go Ahead and elect Hillary and watch her polarize both parties for the next 4 lame duck years as she still has many opponents who simply don't like her or her agenda. She is a career politician who is jaded by the smattering of political debris that continues to follow her around from her years in the public eye and political stage in as many years past. Obama is the path of least travel but also is the canvas through which we may be able to paint ourselves out of the corner our country finds itself in locally and globally.

Face this: Hillary is finished. The only reason she's still around is due to her own ego. Barack Obama should begin to craft his argument against McCain. Stop racing with someone that's 50 laps behind you.

Oh, and by the way, no hate yet from that idiot who always posts here, Susan MO?? She hates Obama because deep down she really wants him, I think.

Leila   April 18th, 2008 5:51 pm ET

I watched BO during the debate. He was annoyed, frustrated and squirming. Sorry, Barack, this is what you can expect from now on. If you can't handle the questions, you can't handle the presidency. You need to know that you can't vote "Present" if you are in the White House!
His new act of "brushing his shoulder" reminds me of a middle school kid. It is supposed to be something he copied from some rapper....sorry, I'm not familiar with rap so it just looked childish and silly to me.
Now he is whining about how he is not whining. Good grief!

Is Hillary a chronic liar?

Emma CA   April 18th, 2008 5:49 pm ET

Surely we are smart enough to know that the last debate will not determine the election? Although it may have been influential to strengthen Obama's image. We don't all believe what negative campaigners want us to believe.

Did Clinton supporters want Obama to say, "You are right. Thank you for making that decision for the American voters?

levi   April 18th, 2008 5:49 pm ET

Obama is the one complaining, if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen, did you see Obama flipping Hillary, that's a low blow Obama.

Love Barack, but not this stuff   April 18th, 2008 5:48 pm ET

I'm with Sen Obama all the way. But I don't want to see his campaign degrade into misleading half quotes, sound bites, and inuendo. He'll lose credibility if he cheapens his campaign that way. He should defend the attacks against him, send his opponents' misleading attacks back at them, but avoid the OLD SCHOOL tactics. WE'RE TIRED OF IT, WE'RE SMARTER THAN THAT. WE CAN SEE THROUGH THE SPINS. Just keep spreading the message of hope and change. THAT'S why Obama is my President. I'm voting FOR Obama, not against Hillary or McCain.

Yes We Can!

hillary is a perfect example of that old saying"desperate people do desperate things"...lol..please!!!"let's get to the issues lady" and stop "derailing this compain...please tell tell me you've got something up your sleaves...and stop playing the"twisting words game"..it's getting old...if you can't beat the man, just say it...the AMERICAN people's issues are at stake and have been brutally mishandled for the last 8 years..and you're talking about "how someone should word his words"..that's for the voters to deal with...just say you're running of of gas lady..
obama..you go babe 2008 is yours

David, Silver Spring, MD   April 18th, 2008 5:47 pm ET

Hillary doesn't know the difference between a "tough" question and a trite, irrelevant, disingenuous one.

Not a very promising indication of what our public discourse would become under a second Clinton presidency.

Sue   April 18th, 2008 5:47 pm ET

Forgot somethin- did anybody read that Bill has been paid 1.5 million over the past six years by the Chines to talk about free trade? How much of that went to your campaign? Hand tough Obama. I thought it was funny when she was making that charge, she tried to make it sound like she was the President! This woman is ridiculous. I have never been so ashamed of a woman in my entire life. She should change her name to Hillary Whining Clinton.

Stephen   April 18th, 2008 5:39 pm ET

This is the kind of distraction or manufactured issue that Obama talks about distracting from the real issues and problems in the USA.

During such a competitive campaign as this has been – and continues to be – it isn't surprising that even Obama is firing back at Hillary. He cannot let her go on with her vitriolic attackes without responding.

However, once he is nominated as the democratic candidate, I think that it is only McCain and his thugs that will be manufacturing (non) issues issues and complaining. Obama wants only to get the work done for the country.

Ovitshio Branco from Scranton (PA)   April 18th, 2008 5:39 pm ET

Shame on we all America, you see why all differents Countries aredoing well because they understand a lot off things better than we here, who is the real Racist in America?, you will never know, we took this Country from the native Americans (Indians), we are Europeans and Africans Americans are from Africa,we have also Asian Americans, why we can not came together and build the U.S.A inside of discrimination, where is writen that only White person must, should or can be the President here in U.S.A. everyone of us should stand in front of a Mirror and ask yourself if you are a Racist or no?
God bless America

I herd Bill Clinton make the commet that the run for being president is a contact sport ( SPORT!!!????). We have 2 wars going on atm, people are dieing every day. How can any1 trivilize the importance of the presidency to a sport? To me that says how unfit the Clinton house-hold is to lead our country.
The job of president is the most important job in our country and should be taken serously and not treated as some GAME.
Our loved ones are dieing in iraq and elsewhere, We need some1 who will lead our country, not some1 who wants to play sports with our familys lives.

shame shame on you clinton ( and you 2 clintons can decide who im talking about, but i expect Hillary will blame Bill. she is good at that)

Jessica   April 18th, 2008 5:38 pm ET

McCain and Clinton know they are loosing this battle for presidency, so they are taking any stabs at Obama that they can – including using false or misleading information. What a shame that they are stooping so low. Doesn't this just prove who deserves to be elected president?

LD   April 18th, 2008 5:38 pm ET

Obama, I like to see you acting over Clintons. Keep going. I strongly support you because Clintons are too much dishonest and untrustworthy.

John c WA   April 18th, 2008 5:37 pm ET

Lots of people are complaining about the debate, not because the questions were tough for Obama but because it was like a right -wing attack. This was not a general election debate. If it were Obama would have blasted McCain. Unlike, Clinton he is trying to not permamently damage his opponate, a difficult task when she is on the McCain ticket. Obama and the thinking people of America wanted a debate about core issues. That is the well founded debate.

Marla   April 18th, 2008 5:37 pm ET

HILLARY is the one "Complaining" what else is she going to do she is not going to get the Nomination!!... that is all she does is cry and talks about her EXPERINCE in which SHE DOES NOT HAVE! that Debate was for HILLARY not OBAMA.... it would have been a Different and a GOOD debate if the Questions were more on the ISSUES America is dealing with. I WAS SOOO GLAD to see OBAMA "DUST OFF" his shoulder and his Feet to HILLARY! im tired of Washington same ole' stuff and Hillary will play and ride on it all the way if AMERICA lets her BUT AMERICA see's right Thru her we no her we have been dealing with the CLINTONS for A LONG LONG TIME now. and all i can say is GOOD BYE and SO LONG!.....

It's no suprise that George Stephanopoulos, a former Clinton advisor would indulge in what I consider a disgrace to political journalism.
I will NEVER watch ANY of his HANNITY & COLMES garbage EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!
The two of them had literally insulted the intelligence of fellow Americans by wasting 45 minutes on tabloid crap which was more like a policital interrogation and less like a political debate.
I was a Hillary supporter and do not appreciate how those questions didn't focus on the REAL, SUBSTANTIVE issues facing our country and instead revolved around FLAG PINS, GAFFES, AND UTTER FOOLISHNESS ABOUT BOSNIA AND BITTERNESS. Well now I see I why Obama said that Pennsylvanian's in small towns are bitter, and this is one of the reasons why.
Thanks to the Clinton's and their pal, Mr. Stephanopoulos and FOX for engaging in slime, gutter politics. So like Obama says, this is why we need a change in Washington. He's got my vote.

ABC wanted to throw dirt all night but only at one person
Let's see the HRC dirt fly:
Caucus states don't matter.
MI and FL don't count till she needs them.
Sniper fire
NAFTA
Judas
Elitist, that is my favorite btw
Columbia Bill
Columbia Mark Penn
5 Million Dollars short
Can't pay her campaign bills, (but can run a country?)
Sinks, toilets, whatever! The very fact that you think the American people are too dumb to see through you makes you unelectable HRC.
You and your husband consistantly say people don't matter, first caucus people, then young people, then two states full of people (of course you changed your mind on that didn't ya, I was here in Iowa when you said it BTW) Little states dont' matter. Then you tie/loose in Texas and of course super delegates don't matter, just electoral college.
I am sick of people not mattering Hillary!!

ABG   April 18th, 2008 5:34 pm ET

You are right Barach. We did not hear you complaining the last six months. Why would we?
As soon as you started getting questioned on your words and actions, that's when we heard you whine and complain.
Do you really think all of us do not understand that your behavior is creating the "distraction".
Time for voters to wake up and start looking at character here.
The media's "kid gloves" are off Barach!

Funny Stuff. And yet nother example of a Hillary saying anything to get elected. She has changed her story on so many different issues now. How can anyone know what she really thinks about anything?

Obama needs to avoid getting sucked into their game though. I don't like to see him attacking in the same way. It undermines the message we all support.

OBAMA '08

Lynn   April 18th, 2008 5:34 pm ET

Yes, it has been Clinton all along that was complaining about those tough questions, being picked on by the boys. Obama always says that it is the reality of politics but he wants to change it. The news media have very short memories. They could bring out tons of tape on Clinton but they don't. She has complained forever about it. Obama always says that it is just politics as usual and he expects it, but wants to change it. Clinton should get caught on this, but the media is so bad. They forget or something what happened a week ago, let alone a month ago.

Harvard Alumni for Obama   April 18th, 2008 5:34 pm ET

I can't remember which debate it was (Texas I think) but I remember explicitly hearing HRC whining about always having to answer questions first. When I listen to HRC talked she appears to space out and just ramble on.

Adam Smith TX, USA   April 18th, 2008 5:31 pm ET

After complaining ALL DAY yesterday Obama now claims Hillary is complaining. One has to look at the news stories from the last 24 hour cycle to find out WHO is complaining about PA debate questions!!!

An Agnostic Democrat   April 18th, 2008 5:30 pm ET

Hillary complained about getting the first question.

Bill and Hillary complained because the boys we were being mean to the girl.

Chelsea complained because women weren't supporting her mom.

Bill complained about mistreatment in the press about the truth-telling version of the embellished lies regarding Bosnia (and Ireland).

Hillary complained because Mr. Obama's advisor allegedly talked to Canada about NAFTA only to find out it was really her campaign who gave them the wink-wink.

Hillary, Bill and any other member of her sleazy campaign complained and whined about caucus states, states she didn't win, etc.

Her campaign and all the slimey surrogates complained when Chelsea got hard questions (off script) but yet isn't available to the press even though she's a responsible, 28 year old adult.

Bill complained (lied) that Bill Richardson promised to endorse Hillary.

Sorry too many to list, not enough energy or time ...

I love to watch debates and analyze them and this is the first time all year you have been treated as the frontrunner and given the harder questions and you stunk.

Why are you blaming the media? You really stunk!

She beat you on the issues I care about too!

I am starting to think that they are right about you that you are not ready to play in the big leagues.

CLINTON IS DELUSIONAL!!

Obama has proven throughout this campaign that he is strong enough to take the Clinton Machine and all of the racist remarks of her surrogates.

She said he was not vetted. But now we have her to thank for making sure that is no longer the case.

Unlike now, in the general election, OBAMA will fight the enemy or should I say old PARTISAN politics. And if that is how John McCain wants to play, Obama will play and win.

But I hope and pray it will not come to that. I desire to see a clean campiagn about issues and what we need to bring the world to respect our country again.

Hillary is such a hypocrite!!!! She's been crying for months about the media. I haven't heard Obama complaining about the debate. However, about 16,000 other people did to ABC. It was a ridiculous "debate" that didn't answer critical questions that people need to know. I used to have respect for Hillary and thought that I would vote democrat regardless of who won the nomination but she plays so dirty that I can't bring myself to do it. If it's not Obama, I will leave that part of the ballot blank.
