Obama says Clinton’s criticism is off-base.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pennsylvania (CNN) — Defending himself against criticism from Hillary Clinton that he's been "complaining about the hard questions he was asked" during Wednesday's debate, Barack Obama said Friday he's not the one who's been griping.

Upon exiting his plane on the tarmac in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, the Illinois senator was asked by a reporter at he thought of Clinton's comments.

"Did you hear me complain?" he responded, adding: "You tell me who's been complaining about the press over the last six months."

Clinton told an interviewer Friday morning that Obama "spent all day (Thursday)" complaining over tough debate queries. "Being asked tough questions in a debate is nothing like the pressures you face inside the White House," she said.

At a previous debate in Ohio, Clinton had criticized the moderators for always asking her the first question and for appearing to favor Obama.

"Maybe we should ask Barack if he's comfortable and needs another pillow," she added then.

EXACTLY! I didn't hear Obama complain at all! I heard him making light of the situation!

I think the Clintons were going to say he was complaining whether he did or not. They are desperate and need something to work…….
Because nothing else is working for them thus far.

Obama, why don't you stop whining about everything that is said, you are just about words that have been proven to be false. Thanks, we need an adult in the White House and not a crying baby

I think the debate between Senators Clinton and Obama ended when Senator Clinton admitted "yes, yes yes" that she believed Senator Obama could defeat Senator John McCain. What else is there to debate?

Vince - Phoenix   April 18th, 2008 5:23 pm ET

no.. the did NOT hear Obama complain. What they did hear was a statement of FACT, that it took 45 minutes before a question outside of scuttlebut was asked.

Truth is always the best weapon…

Abbey   April 18th, 2008 5:23 pm ET

Hillary is such a hypocrite!!!! She's been crying for months about the media. I haven't heard Obama complaining about the debate. However, about 16,000 other people did to ABC. It was a ridiculous "debate" that didn't answer critical questions that people need to know. I used to have respect for Hillary and thought that I would vote democrat regardless of who won the nomination but she plays so dirty that I can't bring myself to do it. If it's not Obama, I will leave that part of the ballot blank.

Boston for OBAMA   April 18th, 2008 5:24 pm ET

When we think of Hillary we must always remember that what is "Good for the goose is not necessarily what's good for the gander".

LOL… Double speak, mis-speak, exaggarations, and flat out lies are what we should be prepared for when listening to her.

Obama is… what did McCain say??? Recklessly honest. I'm still having trouble figuring out how honesty is a bad thing.

CLINTON IS DELUSIONAL!!

Obama has proven throughout this campaign that he is strong enough to take the Clinton Machine and all of the racist remarks of her surrogates.

She said he was not vetted. But now we have her to thank for making sure that is no longer the case.

Unlike now, in the general election, OBAMA will fight the enemy or should I say old PARTISAN politics. And if that is how John McCain wants to play, Obama will play and win.

But I hope and pray it will not come to that. I desire to see a clean campiagn about issues and what we need to bring the world to respect our country again.

Take your beating like a man Obama !!!

She took you to school son…

I love to watch debates and analyze them and this is the first time all year you have been treated as the frontrunner and given the harder questions and you stunk.

Why are you blaming the media? You really stunk!

She beat you on the issues I care about too!

I am starting to think that they are right about you that you are not ready to play in the big leagues.

I think it was a good decision for you not to debate anymore especially after that last debate. You cant afford to lose like that again.

An Agnostic Democrat   April 18th, 2008 5:30 pm ET

Hillary complained about getting the first question.

Bill and Hillary complained because the boys we were being mean to the girl.

Chelsea complained because women weren't supporting her mom.

Bill complained about mistreatment in the press about the truth-telling version of the embellished lies regarding Bosnia (and Ireland).

Hillary complained because Mr. Obama's advisor allegedly talked to Canada about NAFTA only to find out it was really her campaign who gave them the wink-wink.

Hillary, Bill and any other member of her sleazy campaign complained and whined about caucus states, states she didn't win, etc.

Her campaign and all the slimey surrogates complained when Chelsea got hard questions (off script) but yet isn't available to the press even though she's a responsible, 28 year old adult.

Bill complained (lied) that Bill Richardson promised to endorse Hillary.

Sorry too many to list, not enough energy or time …

Adam Smith TX, USA   April 18th, 2008 5:31 pm ET

that's telling it like it is. Clinton has long been complaining that she hasn't been treated fairly. And it is so typical of her to twist it around. Is that the type of person we want as president? We already have that type in the white house. come on people, get with it already.

I can't remember which debate it was (Texas I think) but I remember explicitly hearing HRC whining about always having to answer questions first. When I listen to HRC talked she appears to space out and just ramble on.

Peter   April 18th, 2008 5:33 pm ET

True she is the one that has complained the most. I also think Obama is right to adress that the debate had to litlle focus on real issues.

Arkansas Undertaker   April 18th, 2008 5:33 pm ET

According to Bill Clinton, "Hillary's is not the one whinning." Thats another misstatment of the Clinton's part. Hillary has been complaining more that anyone about the media and the debates.

I am so disappointed in the Clintons. They are not showing the spirit of a true fighter, just that of a sore looser.

Lynn   April 18th, 2008 5:34 pm ET

Yes, it has been Clinton all along that was complaining about those tough questions, being picked on by the boys. Obama always says that it is the reality of politics but he wants to change it. The news media have very short memories. They could bring out tons of tape on Clinton but they don't. She has complained forever about it. Obama always says that it is just politics as usual and he expects it, but wants to change it. Clinton should get caught on this, but the media is so bad. They forget or something what happened a week ago, let alone a month ago.

dave   April 18th, 2008 5:34 pm ET

Funny Stuff. And yet nother example of a Hillary saying anything to get elected. She has changed her story on so many different issues now. How can anyone know what she really thinks about anything?

Obama needs to avoid getting sucked into their game though. I don't like to see him attacking in the same way. It undermines the message we all support.

You are right Barach. We did not hear you complaining the last six months. Why would we?
As soon as you started getting questioned on your words and actions, that's when we heard you whine and complain.
Do you really think all of us do not understand that your behavior is creating the "distraction".
Time for voters to wake up and start looking at character here.
The media's "kid gloves" are off Barach!

Ovitshio Branco from Scranton (PA)   April 18th, 2008 5:35 pm ET

ABC wanted to throw dirt all night but only at one person
Let's see the HRC dirt fly:
Caucus states don't matter.
MI and FL don't count till she needs them.
Sniper fire
NAFTA
Judas
Elitist, that is my favorite btw
Columbia Bill
Columbia Mark Penn
5 Million Dollars short
Can't pay her campaign bills, (but can run a country?)
Sinks, toilets, whatever! The very fact that you think the American people are too dumb to see through you makes you unelectable HRC.
You and your husband consistantly say people don't matter, first caucus people, then young people, then two states full of people (of course you changed your mind on that didn't ya, I was here in Iowa when you said it BTW) Little states dont' matter. Then you tie/loose in Texas and of course super delegates don't matter, just electoral college.
I am sick of people not mattering Hillary!!

It's no suprise that George Stephanopoulos, a former Clinton advisor would indulge in what I consider a disgrace to political journalism.
I will NEVER watch ANY of his HANNITY & COLMES garbage EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!
The two of them had literally insulted the intelligence of fellow Americans by wasting 45 minutes on tabloid crap which was more like a policital interrogation and less like a political debate.
I was a Hillary supporter and do not appreciate how those questions didn't focus on the REAL, SUBSTANTIVE issues facing our country and instead revolved around FLAG PINS, GAFFES, AND UTTER FOOLISHNESS ABOUT BOSNIA AND BITTERNESS. Well now I see I why Obama said that Pennsylvanian's in small towns are bitter, and this is one of the reasons why.
Thanks to the Clinton's and their pal, Mr. Stephanopoulos and FOX for engaging in slime, gutter politics. So like Obama says, this is why we need a change in Washington. He's got my vote.

Monica Beaton   April 18th, 2008 5:36 pm ET

Lots of people are complaining about the debate, not because the questions were tough for Obama but because it was like a right -wing attack. This was not a general election debate. If it were Obama would have blasted McCain. Unlike, Clinton he is trying to not permamently damage his opponate, a difficult task when she is on the McCain ticket. Obama and the thinking people of America wanted a debate about core issues. That is the well founded debate.

LD   April 18th, 2008 5:38 pm ET

Obama, I like to see you acting over Clintons. Keep going. I strongly support you because Clintons are too much dishonest and untrustworthy.

Jessica   April 18th, 2008 5:38 pm ET

McCain and Clinton know they are loosing this battle for presidency, so they are taking any stabs at Obama that they can - including using false or misleading information. What a shame that they are stooping so low. Doesn't this just prove who deserves to be elected president?

Corey   April 18th, 2008 5:39 pm ET

I herd Bill Clinton make the commet that the run for being president is a contact sport ( SPORT!!!????). We have 2 wars going on atm, people are dieing every day. How can any1 trivilize the importance of the presidency to a sport? To me that says how unfit the Clinton house-hold is to lead our country.
The job of president is the most important job in our country and should be taken serously and not treated as some GAME.
Our loved ones are dieing in iraq and elsewhere, We need some1 who will lead our country, not some1 who wants to play sports with our familys lives.

God bless America

Stephen   April 18th, 2008 5:39 pm ET

This is the kind of distraction or manufactured issue that Obama talks about distracting from the real issues and problems in the USA.

During such a competitive campaign as this has been - and continues to be - it isn't surprising that even Obama is firing back at Hillary. He cannot let her go on with her vitriolic attackes without responding.

However, once he is nominated as the democratic candidate, I think that it is only McCain and his thugs that will be manufacturing (non) issues issues and complaining. Obama wants only to get the work done for the country.

Sue   April 18th, 2008 5:41 pm ET

Leroy   April 18th, 2008 5:50 pm ET

Obama, you are a cry boy.
The question of ABC moderators are all new issues on your mistake and srew up. This is the first time those question come up on any of 19 debate with H. Clinton.

Cowboy Jack   April 18th, 2008 5:50 pm ET

The difference is Hillary can complain and fight it to overcome it….

Obama complains and complains and complains….. b/c he thinks that being president will be easier than questions from a liberal moderator in a Democratic primary

Cheryll   April 18th, 2008 5:51 pm ET

It is time for everyone to get involved with the Peter Paul vs Clintons and Ed Rendell then talk to us that are smart about what is going on with Hillary. It will shock you and it is true. I will say an amount of $5 mil. was mentioned. mmm I wonder where she really got that money from. Plus this took place in California involving Hollywood. You better wake up America.

Leila   April 18th, 2008 5:51 pm ET

I watched BO during the debate. He was annoyed, frustrated and squirming. Sorry, Barack, this is what you can expect from now on. If you can't handle the questions, you can't handle the presidency. You need to know that you can't vote "Present" if you are in the White House!
His new act of "brushing his shoulder" reminds me of a middle school kid. It is supposed to be something he copied from some rapper….sorry, I'm not familiar with rap so it just looked childish and silly to me.
Now he is whining about how he is not whining. Good grief!

Phillip-Little Rock   April 18th, 2008 5:51 pm ET

What vitriol I see here. All you Hillary supporters are like someone that's about to get fired but don't see it coming: you're in denial, even when the boss says 'you're just not cutting it'.

Face this: Hillary is finished. The only reason she's still around is due to her own ego. Barack Obama should begin to craft his argument against McCain. Stop racing with someone that's 50 laps behind you.

Oh, and by the way, no hate yet from that idiot who always posts here, Susan MO?? She hates Obama because deep down she really wants him, I think.

MJ   April 18th, 2008 5:53 pm ET

"Whine, Whine, They told me this was going to be a cakewalk to the Presidency" says Obama, I want my blankee!

Brian   April 18th, 2008 5:54 pm ET

You want to see complaining? Go Ahead and elect Hillary and watch her polarize both parties for the next 4 lame duck years as she still has many opponents who simply don't like her or her agenda. She is a career politician who is jaded by the smattering of political debris that continues to follow her around from her years in the public eye and political stage in as many years past. Obama is the path of least travel but also is the canvas through which we may be able to paint ourselves out of the corner our country finds itself in locally and globally.

Susan MO   April 18th, 2008 5:54 pm ET

Obama………you contradict yourself.

"Campaign, no more debates'………..and now you are complaining about Clinton…….again.

YOU are the one who insulted the America people in Pennsylvania…….and then 'made light of it'.

This indicates you are too inexperienced to be the leader of our country. Insulting & critical.

Obama lost our vote.

FRED Atlanta, GA   April 18th, 2008 5:54 pm ET

To: An Agnostic Democrat I agree with your statements 110% couldn't have said it better myself some clinton supporter are so blind they only see what they want to see, they can't see the TRUTH in anything regarding BILLARY!!!

Obama 08/12 YES WE CAN and YES WE WILL!!!

Jiddy   April 18th, 2008 5:55 pm ET

It sadden me how foolish and misunderstanding Clinton supporters are getting. I think they've started swimming in the same hypocrite and stupidity of the Clintons.

Imagine someone that went to national debate to complaining that the media are unfair to her, even her loud mouth after 11pm husband confirmed that the press are too negative to his wife. It is the same Clintons that are now twisting and lieing about Barack's statement.

Why don't you Clinton supports just keep your dirty mouth shut that making same useless speeches as Billary.

pablo   April 18th, 2008 5:55 pm ET

Who was that crying in New Hampshire?

MW Los Angeles   April 18th, 2008 5:56 pm ET

I totally agree with Obama…no compaints just facts. Debate the issues not tabloids and petty crap. She came at him like he was Bill or something. I wonder was she that aggressive with Bill when he was busted, and I aint talking Monica…I'm talking about the many others we haven't heard of!!!

Chris in Va.   April 18th, 2008 5:56 pm ET

You have to commend Senator Obama on his ability to stay cool under fire. It seems it's always three on one, Hillary, Bill, Chelsea on the campaign trail, Hillary, Lap Dog Stephanopolos, and the other Nimrod in that so called debate (more like a lynching if you'll excuse the term), yet Obama hangs in there holding his own ground. If Hillary had to endure this I guess she would just cry so they'd stop picking on "poor little Hillary".

Victor in NC   April 18th, 2008 5:56 pm ET

Its so much stuff going on, its getting to look stupid..

I will be so glad when the election is over and we can get something done in this nation.

We need a President who Cares about the American People..

Was I the only one who noticed that ole Hil couldn't elaborate on her policy plans but instead wants you to go to hill.com to look at her plans. She doesn't even know what her plans are? All of her old friends are taking a good look at Hill. They don't want her in office - she would be a menopausal mess!!!!

Obama 08 - unless they put some trickery in the game - which we all know is possible.

Mary   April 18th, 2008 5:57 pm ET

Hillary, you complained in front of us all during that debate a month ago. You said, "why am I always asked the questions first?"

Hillary the Sniper Fire strikes again!!! Too funny

Imagine we were going to vote for Hillary who constantly lies to America!!!

theroadrunner   April 18th, 2008 5:57 pm ET

Barack Obama is the WINNER.

Hilliary Clinton is the WHINER.

There are alot of good, hard-working, and intelligent people in Pennsylvania who know the difference. They know that Hilliary Clinton is full of …it, when she claims to be pro-labor, and yet she sat on the board of the elitist Wal-Mart Corporation and went right along with Union busting with the fat-cats. The worst part of her campaign is that she thinks others can't tell the truth anymore than she can, and she's wrong about that. People see through her and her pack of lies. Barack Obama handled all of the cheap shots thrown at him by Clintons house-boy, Stephanopoulas, with grace and elegance, continuing to advocate for the people when he simply appealed to the moderators to skip the petty personal attacks and get to the issues so that voters can compare and contrast on bread and butter issues. All Clinton could do was relish the opportunism in the petty personal attacks, and try to score "points," at the expense of the debate on issues–which she would lose, hands down. She is NOT a friend to labor, and I trust that the hard-working people in Pennsylvania will see through her and vote their best interests. VOTE OBAMA!

Mirta   April 18th, 2008 5:57 pm ET

Where is Cnn's sotry abut Obama flipping HIllary the bird? He did it! Watch the video and watch his reaction. He knew what he was doing - he did it! very Presidential…

"Look, I just want to point out that you always ask me the first question!" Whine, Whine, Whine. Hillary! Are you kidding me? Obama is giving voice to the millions who watched the debacle debate and know what a miserable job ABC did. Hillary, no one is listening to you anymore because we don't have time to wait to find out if you tell the truth or not! Our country is in a world of hurt and you just make it worse, Hillary. Now hush!

Cheryll   April 18th, 2008 5:58 pm ET

Are our memories that short that we forget New Hampshire where she cried because she thought everyone was picking on her? Please America stop acting STUPID.

Also we really need to be researching this suit that is in the Calfornia courts Peter Paul vs Clintons and Rendell. Just google Peter Paul. I wonder why the media is not picking up on that. Maybe they have been brought by someone.??? Just a question.

Kevin   April 18th, 2008 5:58 pm ET

Man, you Clinton supporters need to look up the definition of "complain."

Obama says: "That's ok, that's what we expect from Washington." That's not a complaint.

Hillary says: "I just have to say…I always get the first question…and Barack gets easy treatment from the media." THAT'S not only a complaint, but a high-pitched WHINE.

Jane, NC   April 18th, 2008 5:58 pm ET

Senator Obama doesn't seem to take pressure well, that's for sure. If the other debates had not been so biased in his favor, I can't imagine that he would have made it this far. I hope he has a cabinet position for the media once they get him elected.

TunnelVision   April 18th, 2008 5:58 pm ET

What I find interesting is that people who are 'SAVVY' according to Pres. Clinton vote Hillary..while people who know the Clintons endorse Obama. Can you see the irony????

Isaac   April 18th, 2008 5:59 pm ET

Sorry but this one is going to be a losing battle for Obama, I think he might want to stay quiet on this issue. There are numerous reports about how much more negative the press have been on Clinton, even in the mainstream media. Besides, Hillary Clinton only pointed out the discrepancy. She didn't complain, and she even went on to say she didn't mind. The only reason she pointed it out is because the media were not doing their jobs at that point in the race and that is the honest to goodness truth. It wasn't until she called attention to it herself that things started to change. Wednesday was hard on Obama but he better toughen up because debates between him and McCain will not be as easy as these ones. And as soon as he starts saying no more debates then he starts looking like a child that can't hack it.

rod   April 18th, 2008 5:59 pm ET

Open sesame! Praise ye Obama all Obama's host. Obama is the good-luck charm, the lucky piece, the rabbit's-foot, and the wish-bringer to today's American voter and the DNC's Superdelegates. Obama and Obama's Superdelegates will ghost dance in the magic circle durning the nomination victory. Obama will also put a Superdelegate and supporter in a trance with conjure up speeches of change. Count on Obama's vital force in numbers to win the election.

Alex   April 18th, 2008 5:59 pm ET

Yes, we did hear you complaining. Did you think you were behind closed doors? You complained DURING the debate, taking up your own time by complaining about how much time they were wasting on questions you didn't want to answer.

Every clip from your stump speeches I've seen since then was of you complaining, oh, excuse me, making terribly witty remarks, about the same topic.

You were unprepared for obvious questions. You got flustered and shorted yourself on time for easier questions. If you have to negotiate with, oh say, Russia or China, are you going to complain that they keep wanting to talk about things that don't interest you?

You blew the debate! Suck it up and move on. Quit playing noble victim.

dee, tx   April 18th, 2008 5:59 pm ET

Hillary insist she can beat McCain but she's losing among her own base. We don't need a fighter in the white house, we need a uniter. In HIllary I see a career politician who will say and do anything to gain power. I deeply believe the only reason she voted for the War in Iraq was to show as a woman she could vote for war. She put her ambitions over the lives of our soliders

Amazed   April 18th, 2008 6:00 pm ET

I have looked at all of these comments and all the man said was " Did you hear me complain" and now he is considered the one complaining? What in the world? I was at the town hall meeting yesterday in Raleigh and he was not complaining about the debate. He was responding to a question from someone in the crowd. I can't belive there are so many childish people in the United States. What people need to do is stop basing their opinions on these one sided "snipits" of a statement in the articles put out by these journalist and do some research on their own.

Vicki Walker   April 18th, 2008 6:01 pm ET

OBAMA WAY DOWN AFTER DEBATE, ACCORDING TO THE MOST RECENT GALLOP POLL.

Instead of an eleven point lead, he is down to only a three point lead.

CLINTON/EDWARDS 08

Philip   April 18th, 2008 6:03 pm ET

Well, she not going down without the Democratic Party. She will say anything to win. What does she take the voters for? Few weeks ago she was complaining about getting the first question and now she knows you have to get tougher questions to deserve the nomination.

Mike   April 18th, 2008 6:04 pm ET

AW COME ON!!! Hillary complains and whines every minute. All Obama did was joke (and he was funny) about how that last debate did not ask a single relevant question for the first forty five minutes. Every time Hillary opens her nasty mouth, a lie comes out.

John   April 18th, 2008 6:04 pm ET

Obama looks a little sreamed, kinda hot under collar.

Silly Hilly People   April 18th, 2008 6:05 pm ET

Was it not Hilliar that whined about getting the first question during debates? And then, Bill laughably says those in the political arena should have thick skins. Then, as if the irony isn't glaring enough, we have the overgrown baby Chelsea saying "none of your business" to "sensitive" questions. Well, which is it, Clintons? Surely that $800k from Colombia can buy you a plausible answer…. Perhaps, if nothing else, you should say goodbye!!! And don't trot that snotty brat Chelsea out again…there's no future in politics for her, as outlined by her own father's criteria.

The O   April 18th, 2008 6:05 pm ET

what does it mean when people that have worked with ie. Hillary Clinton, come out and endorse Obama. That tells me that they know who will be the better President no matter what the Clinton supporters want to say, and the Clinton camp try to spin it!!!

OBAMA 08

Jack in ND   April 18th, 2008 6:06 pm ET

All these "Democrats" who are equating those who oppose Hillary Clinton for president with people who don't want a female president are certainly not true Democrats. This is about opposition to Hillary Clinton as president, not opposition to a female as president.

When this country does elect a female president, it should be one who is inspiring and trustworthy…one we'd be proud to see perpetuated in the history books as "America's first female president".

Hillary Clinton ain't that…not by a long shot.

DJ, LA, CA   April 18th, 2008 6:07 pm ET

Enough of Clinton's scorched earth negativity towards Obama. All she does is attack him.

The reason is that in case people haven't noticed…she is LOSING!

Please Hillary drop-out. You can attack him all you want but it won't change the fact that you are losing by a lot and have no chance.

Unless of course you CHEAT by changing the party rules that were decided upon and agreed to (you signed the papers) before the election even started.

Chris, Silicon Valley, CA, USA   April 18th, 2008 6:07 pm ET

Question for Obama supporters: What would he actually change?

Joe   April 18th, 2008 6:08 pm ET

Media hype nonsense. The real story is that they're both socialists … as it appears much of our nation is. So fat dumb and happy that we're too blind to see that federal power (high taxes) has eroded our true strength … freedom! We're just another socialist nation riding on the coattails of our past success (which existed in the first place due to individual freedom). We want life to be fair … yet it never has been … is nature fair? Freedom = Power = Money … Higher taxes = Power to government … Lower taxes = Power to the People! Do you really think the government will make your life fair? All liberals are Whiners!

Obama needs to drop out, I don't agree with his "kind" of politics. He knows how to make someone look bad whether they are or not. Mr. Obama has not fairly played the campaign and everyone knows this. I like a good fight in the process. This sissy stuff he is doing is bad for the party. I would never vote for this sissy. Give me the Old time political compaigns any day. Drop out Obama. Hillary '08 all the way, she has backbone. Not a yellow streak.

$ million of dollars from all the Americans jobs that they have sold!

victor owens   April 18th, 2008 6:10 pm ET

The debate was a Washington staged all to favour their candidate Hilary. Obviosly the Abc debate was sponsored by the Clitons it was all evident by the manner of questioning etc Hilary knew inadvance the mode and type of questions to expect so she was all smiling; A nd even at that, Obama was Presidential in answering all the tough questions to the disappiontment of all. Hilary belives Americans owns her not only the right to be president but also to be crowned asQUEEN HILARY OF AMERICA. I have never seen such a proud and arrogant woman in all my life my view reflects the views of many people around the world.

Now for Obama   April 18th, 2008 6:10 pm ET

If Hillary can't even beat, what she likes to call a "rookie" like Obama, then how in the world does she think she can take on the GOP?

P.S.
Hillary's dysfunctional campaign (campaign debt, Mark Penn and husband) is an example of her future Presidency

Dori in AZ   April 18th, 2008 6:11 pm ET

Hillary doesn't answer tough questions, so that means she can't handle pressure. She evades (as Chelsea has learned to do) and lies, attempting to create a stronger image of herself and to cover for her severe inadequacies. Instead, that shatters it except for her most ardent supporters.

The woman can't handle a debate, much less real life. Under stress, she sounds whiny and almost stutters. Her eyes widen and her mouth gapes dramatically like some cartoon caricature.

After telling elaborate lies that she thinks will benefit her (as long as no one notices. . .), Hillary comes up with lame excuses that wouldn't hold in any court room, and refers to them as having misspoken. Or that, gee, by golly, that just goes to show she's only human and that that may surprise people. . . .

Surprise people to learn that Hillary is human? How condescending! What did she think I thought she was? A deity?

No thanks. This woman is voting Obama 2008!

George   April 18th, 2008 6:14 pm ET

After a small taste of what Hillary has been going through for the past few months, Obama is already whining. Hillary is a stronger person and can get along on her own. Obama is weak and too new at this game. He finally started getting the tougher questions, and he couldn't answer them. I don't remember Hillary struggling…

HILLARY 08

CNN you should be ashame of yourself. At first I was against Fox News for bragging about being "fair and balanced", however, now they are far more "fair and balanced" than you and MSNBC. I perceive CNN and MSNBC trying to select Senator Obama instead of letting the people elect a candidate, SHAME ON YOU. I am so fed up with you investigating everything about Senator Clinton and giving Senator Obama a free ride. No one really knows too much about Senator Obama because everyone is afraid of being called racist. Senator Obama really knows how to play the race card. I have never seen a black politician play the race card as effective as this senator. No one has even mentioned the name LARRY SINCLAIR, I had to go to the internet to get information about that situation. SHAME ON YOU if it was something like that on Senator Clinton you guys would have been all over it. If Senator Obama wins for the Democrats I will vote for Senator McCain. I am not a bitter white man, I am an angry black man who believe in fairness. Wolf and Cooper you truly disappoint me but it doesn't matter because I am just the average guy.

Hey Independent Butler…. wait, how can you be an independent Butler?

Oh, I get it… You're an independent… (really) … from Butler..

If you're really independent. I have a few questions for you. How many times have you voted Democrat in a national election?

How many times have you voted…. period?

On what basis do you make your voting decisions?

I've voted over 40 years in national elections, most of the time for Republican candidates. I consider myself a conservative … with libertarian leanings, but I will be voting for Obama in November…. and not because he is the lesser of two evils.

Look at the facts:
1. Our country is by far the strongest in the world…. yet we cannot defend ourselves against a small group of wacked out terrorists… why?
2. Our infrastructure continues to deteriorate… our roads and bridges are literally falling apart…. why?
3. We've allowed ourselves to be virtually extorted for our energy needs…. i.e.: despite a very clear understanding over the last 35 years that we need to become energy independent… we have become more and more energy dependent…. at an increasingly high cost….. Why?
4. We've allowed our educational system to deteriorate over the last 35 years to the point where 25% of our young people drop out short of a high school diploma…. and an additional 20 to 25% border on functional illiteracy…. Why?

The reality is that we have become more interested in pointing the finger at the other guy than we are in solving our problems. Barack Obama has the potential to motivate enough of us…. to join together to address these issues. Look at what he's done so far. He's brought a huge number of young people into the political process. He's reached out across the political spectrum to (real) independents and Republicans because he does not speak down to them… or minimize their concerns and views.

Wake up …. it is long past time for a change ….. and Barack Obama is the President who can bring us together to achieve it!

I’ve lost so much respect for BOTH Clintons in the past few months. I’ve heard people talk about the “Clinton Machine” and I always thought it was right-wing propaganda. But the way they try to change the rules and try the ol’ “I’m rubber you’re glue” bit is SO petty. They must count on the 24 hour news cycle. Because one day we need to count every vote and the next “there’s no such thing as a pledged delegate”. I’m glad to see its not working. :)

Tim   April 18th, 2008 6:19 pm ET

Since February, Obama has had 80 Superdelegates come out for him (plus I believe 3 more today) and Clinton has 5. When you are getting the hide kicked out of you, you have to make up whatever garbage you can but it's not working this time. Sorry Hill…the ship is sinking.

This stat was in the NY Times today by the way.

According to Hillary, Hillary spews "millions of words every week" and often times those words are meaningless or make her a pathological liar in the Bosnia sniper fire case when caught on tape!

I am BITTER because Hillary humiliated women who bake cookies while I was baking cookies before I rushed to work at that time! I am BITTER because Hillary disgraces and trashes women by playing dirty,

Go Obama!

Kim   April 18th, 2008 6:22 pm ET

It amazes me that after twenty years of a horrible Clinton/Bush dynasty where these crooks made millions while sending our jobs to China. That anyone would be stupid enough to support 4 to 8 more years of a pseudo democracy under another Clinton. In Obama we have a fresh, untainted dedicated, intelligent alternative. If we blow this election we will have only ourselves to blame for more war and more corruption.

Billary's Out   April 18th, 2008 6:23 pm ET

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaa Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, why do I always get the first question. I know Hillary's not saying anything about complaining.

Obama 08

Eric Tarkington   April 18th, 2008 6:23 pm ET

Truth is, Obama can stand the heat, but Hillary can't stand the light.

Now for Obama   April 18th, 2008 6:23 pm ET

Why isn't the media reporting Hillary telling Bill Clinton "screw em" when addressing some Republican southerners in1995.

Sounds elitist and out of touch with Americans to me

magda   April 18th, 2008 6:24 pm ET

He is humorless.

Probably he'd be happier if asked about his US Senate (and IL senate) voting record.

Charlotte   April 18th, 2008 6:25 pm ET

Poor baby, somebody give him a bottle or at least a pacifier.

This race is nothing but a popularity contest. It's just like "American Idol". The most popular, the cutest or the most likable takes the lead over talent, experience and best person for the position. Our country is doomed because people are latching onto a "fad" candidate in Obama. Give me substance, give me dependability, give me a woman who loves this country and has sacraficed a great deal in her lifetime to fight for the citizens of this country. The people of this country treat Hillary with as much disdain and ambivilance as they do veterans and law enforcement. This country pays boys millions of dollars to play with a ball but pays their lifeline personnel barely enough to feed themselves. All this blather over the great white/black Obama when he can't even make a decision about lunch much less defending this great country. You better wake up people, nothing last forever and don't think that this country can't be brought to her knees by the carelessness in which we the people treat her.Hillary Clinton is not the most popular or the most liked for a reason. because she's a fighter and she rocks the boat, which is exactly what this country NEEDS right now.

noemi in los angeles   April 18th, 2008 6:27 pm ET

YEAH Obama got the hard questions…….. while Hillary got noooo hard questions at all. I never once heard the man complain, Hillary just shut up … we should have asked you a hard question too… *cough* Bosnia *cough* Colombia *cough* your fraud trial next week!! Don't think we don't know. You can't just simply dismiss things with a laugh on a late night show. You are a liar and you can't hide it.

Marc   April 18th, 2008 6:27 pm ET

She's not the one who childishly flicked off her opponent in front of a national audience. Really mature. Wake up, folks! Do we really want someone this clueless running America? I'll concede that he "inspires" a lot of you guys, but how is going to bring this "change"? Have you ever asked yourselves what he means by that or how it's going to happen? Have you seen any evidence he can deliver on his promises? Please wake up before America falls even farther behind.

Go Home Obama   April 18th, 2008 6:27 pm ET

Do you not see Obama's true colors now?? He is nothng but full of crap!! YOu are delegated to be superdelegates, maybe because you have more political wisdom than the general public? Apparently not since most of you guys are endorsing Obama!!! It is either you guys are playing blind, or you are in it with Obama's shannanigans and corrupt acts!!!

WHAT A CRY BABY! Thank God there are too many women who get him and he will be toast if nominated. Hillary, '08, '12. What intelligent well read person could get duped by this snake oil salesman. Where is his wagon and donkey.

Michael   April 18th, 2008 6:32 pm ET

What's America without the Clintons?

A better country.

Bernice   April 18th, 2008 6:33 pm ET

Sen. Obama not only did you not complain you spoke with great confidence in a sound and firm voice unlike Hilly she on the other hand I found to be a pesky fly swarming all over the place in search for any person she could irritate. She went from you to Bush switching back and forth so i her infamous efforts to deflect her listens from her lack of substance and half lies and to do as she has become known to do not answer directly any answer she chooses not to answer, it is for this reason after long drawn out spins and attacks she was repeatedly asked to answer the question that had been asked.

This put more focus on her lack and a greater sense of desperation. There were at least three times she had to shut her mouth after Obama came back with the truth that she was trying to put her infamous spins on,

This woman has no morals she is shady in all she does even when her i giving her best efforts of being sincere.

mark   April 18th, 2008 6:33 pm ET

Ask hillary about the southern white workers. hillary is a selfish candidate. she said to bill that screw them all because they have down nothing for you, bill. hillary cannot win the south.

Tim   April 18th, 2008 6:33 pm ET

From his radical stance on abortion to his prominence in the corruption scandals that has been virtually ignored by the mainstream media, Barack Obama is not fit to be Senator — not to mention the next President of the United States.
Obama has declared his presidential intentions, but it is up to well-informed and energetic conservatives like you to spare our nation from the scourge of a far-left President Barack H. Obama
