(CNN) – Barack Obama has spent more than $8 million on Pennsylvania campaign spots over the past month – more than twice what Hillary Clinton has – as ad spending this year continues its record pace.

The Illinois senator’s presidential campaign had spent $8.1 million in the four-week period ending April 16, half of that in the critical – and pricey – Philadelphia ad market, according to an analysis conducted by TNS Media Intelligence/CMAG, CNN’s consultant on political advertising spending.

He is spending $400,000 a day, on a pace to exceed $10 million in ad spending – more than double Clinton’s $3.3 million in ad buys.

“Senator Obama’s campaign has done an excellent job of putting their fundraising advantage to work with record Pennsylvania ad buys, forcing Senator Clinton to spend valuable time and money in a state where she had a double-digit lead in the polls only a few weeks ago,” said Evan Tracey, chief operating officer of TNSMI/CMAG.

“If her own message connects with voters and pays off, it could be a big moral boost for the Clinton campaign. If not: the Obama strategy has paid off.”

Obama is also dominating the airwaves in upcoming primary states, spending $1.4 million in North Carolina and $1.8 million in Indiana, and has ads on the air in Oregon, according to the analysis. Clinton has made smaller buys in North Carolina and Indiana, and has not yet begun airing ads in Oregon.

Rise Antichrist Rise!!! As if this liar already hasn't done enough to eat anything when he's power-hungry. When it comes to this Obama Virus, everyone better watch-out. You don't wanna be one of those drones with a sign in their forehead don't you? I know it because I live in downtown Philly and I see these zombies roaming the streets and his followers are angry about anything Hillary. While the Hillary supporters are the "silent" majority.

Hillary fans are looking more and more pathetic. But hey if Bush made it as far as he did then i dont have much hope in people that they will do the right thing here. What bothers me more than anything is that most of the people ive heard from that like Hillary quote word for word everything the good ole TV told them. Its actually pretty scary, there are other sources you know. =/

Obama is winning,,, Sorry for all the Clinton supporters. By the time the media stops trying to pull for your girl, trying to make this thing seem close while it is not, will be quite an epiphany for you all. This thing ended after the 11 contest winning streak. The lead is unsummountable. Sorry Rick, Cheryl, Matt, Mike and other die hard fanatics. Your girl just got beat a long time ago and I understand your fixation. I have been there,,, it's hard to concede when you are a favorite and behind in score. Sorry again,, I don't feel your pain, but do sympathize your state. You will be alright though.

Both Obama and Clinton is qualified to be President. My only concern
is that Hillary Clinton is very emotional. She will say are doing anything to get into the White House. She will display a tearful moment or have a senior moment to gain sympathy. We need someone in office that is serious about our countries issues.
A President that can relate to disenchanted Americans who are
bitter. Call it what you may; angry, disappointed, unhappy or bitter.
It all boils down to the fact we need change. New politics is what
Obama is focusing on. McCain is way out of touch, old and psycholocially challenged.

GOD BLESS YOU OBAMA

Jan   April 19th, 2008 6:33 pm ET

I thought Hillary was too divisive for this time in history, so I voted Obama, despite some reservations, in the CA primary. But I still respected Hillary.

Since then, … besides divisive, I now find Hillary vindictive and a liar and one who cares more about herself than this country. Obama, on the other hand, is a breath of fresh air and I no longer have any reservations about him.

In November, I will vote Obama or none of the above.

Ben Gabson   April 19th, 2008 6:33 pm ET

Obama is throwing more of the negative kitchen sink the clinton and he is not ready for this job. He has lived with negativity thrown at him for the last 20 years and that shows in the way he has run this campaign.

I was for Hillary until she start getting negative. However, her negativity turned me off. I am amazed of Hillary supporters who seem to blame every first action on her rival Obama. John McCain is looking better and better due to people like you.

Bart in SC   April 19th, 2008 6:33 pm ET

Wow, it hurts me everytime I see the amount of money being spent on TV ADs, radio, etc. For people 40 and younger we are now living in one of the most financially difficult periods of our adult life. Yet, Obama can spend this kind of money on "buying" the nomination. Whatever happen to campaigning and getting the word out by speaking to people. I understand TV has it place but there are alot of people out their with credit card problems and housing issues. Again I say WOW. He really wants to end Hillary in PA. I hope that people in PA are smart enough to see through this attempt to buy their vote.

Sue   April 19th, 2008 6:26 pm ET

So what….He complains about people in Wahsington and their power and money and look at the amount of money he is spending and he is not even being truthful!! Hillary is by far the better candidate, the stronger candidate and will be the winning candidate. Hillary gave some great speecheds today and also picked up another superdelegate. Obama has been talking about the debate for days now and is still complaining about the questionning. Please Obama let it go, it is over, you did poorly and so be it. If you think that debate was unfair and the questions asked were unfair you have no business running for President. THe debates between Republican and Democrat nominees puts that debate to shame. Hillary gets it, she understands and she will be the nominee. Also Obama has been using alot of those negative words that he said his campaign would not do. We all lie!! Look at reasons why you lie or when you lie. I have seen many debates and it gets nasty and the "lies" fly. Hillary knows politics, she has been scrutinized for years, she has no skeletons, and like I said it is only beginning. This is like pre school.

Obama represents 21st century America, an America that is doing everything in its power to openly heal the scars of the past and create a new generation of Americans that value intelligence, honesty, and perseverance over the tactics of the past. In many Asian countries, politicians attempt to seem smarter than they are to win hearts. In America, it's the polar opposite! Bush won with a "man you can have a beer with" strategy, and though Clinton was a highly educated Rhodes scholar, he often dumbed down his talk to relate to the American people.

WHAT? Obama speaks with integrity and intelligence, and hopefully Americans will demand this level of intellect & honesty from every candidate in the future.

trbleshter   April 19th, 2008 6:05 pm ET

Senator Obama is clearly taking the lead in this democratic race for the nomination. Unfortunately the Clinton campaing does not have the integrity to consider this a done deal. America needs a President that can DELIVER with INTEGRITY. Unfortunately Senator CLINTON's track record indicates and inability to do just that. Deliver with INTEGRITY IN tact.

John McCain in NOT what this country needs now.

Senator Barack Obama IS what this country Needs now.

Lets pray that he gets the nod…

He has trained his wife "HILLIARLOT" well. Rick   April 19th, 2008 5:54 pm ET

To Hill Yeah and Obama the Liar-
I guess you must look the the other way when your candidate speaks. If you like the way Hillary has been running her campaign – and it will be the same way she would run the country if given the chance – more power to you. All I hear her do is try to tear down Obama – I think that is why she finds herself in the position she is in now. You should give people reasons to vote for you, not reasons to vote against your opponent.
Oh well, I am sure this will not change your minds, but it is only a matter of time now. I think it is rather hypocritical to be a Hillary supporter and call someone else a liar. And if you think she is more electable that Obama, boy do you not know your facts. There will be such an uproar from both Rebuplicans and Democrates if she does get the nomination she will be defending all her lies and hypocracies all the way to November. She thinks she had been vetted? She has seen nothing yet – and I will be more than happy to help with donations and volunteer work to stop her.

Wow, Mal Sterling,, you are so intelligent that you put Bill and Hillary's name together. I am so tired of the Obama supporters who whine about ABC and the debate about trivial questions then run to the blogs and bash Clinton.

Obama is the front-runner.He made this campaign about character and judgement. Hillary has faced these questions in 20 plus debates. Its only fair that Obama have to answer. He did not. He once again dodged the questions. He now is running around using ridicule and mockery to cover his poop performance. Obama can por millions into PA, it won't change the fact that he has serious questions to answer.

jerry   April 19th, 2008 5:20 pm ET

ABC done a good job, they ask the questions that the voters need to know. We are hiring a person to work at the hardest job in the world, and the people need to know THE REST OF THE STORY, as Paul Harvey would say. The network that brings The Rest Of The Story, will be the most watched. We need the Networks to work for the people not to cover up the unexperinced Obama.

Zina   April 19th, 2008 5:19 pm ET

His campaign better be spending this money! We the people have donated for this very reason. If the Clintons were pulling in the kind of money he was and were not (as documented) behind on their campaign debts, they would be doing the same. I hope the advertisements will help energize the people to bring just one more person to the polls for the Obama Family.

This Poor Old (65year old) White Boy here in southeast Texas is gonna send Sen. Obama another donation….just want to beat those Clintons in this race.

George   April 19th, 2008 5:16 pm ET

Obama can't keep the money, so he might as well use it to leverage his message in PA. .

CRR   April 19th, 2008 5:15 pm ET

Mitt could not buy an election, and neither will Barack! GO HILLARY!!!!

EA   April 19th, 2008 5:15 pm ET

I love the fact all you out there who claim to be democrats are so divided over what?? Nothing really. 95% of the issues at stake are identical, so search your hearts and ask yourselves are you truly a Democrat or disguised as Republicans, who are just temporarily confused. I was a Clinton supporter and choose now to back Obama. It has nothing to do with his skin color, his age, the fact he is a man, but simply because he's a Democrat with a platform similar to my original candidate, but at least for me offers me something positive and uplifting. Some call it rhetoric, and empty words, but for me it is something that allows me to beleive that change is going to come. And hey, even if he has flaws, what can be worst than the Bush administration?

Spirit of America   April 19th, 2008 5:15 pm ET

Trying to buy an election is definitely NOT a good sign.

PA Dem voters: the future of our country is in your hands. April 22 will, in effect, be the general election. If Barack comes close to victory and gets the nomination, McCain wins by a landslide in Nov.

The only way to prevent this American tragedy and disaster, is to give Hillary a double-digit victory in PA so she will be the nominee and defeat McCain by a landslide in November.

The choice is yours. Don't let a flood of slick ads deceive you.
Obama cannot win in Nov. Oh no, he can't!

PA for Obama   April 19th, 2008 5:14 pm ET

Move on Obama…We know that McSame attack machine has started attacking you using the same allegations of the negative campaigning of Hillary. We understand you want to stay positive for the sake of the party.
We will continue to support you all the way…
PA, you need to end this race so that we turn the page and start facing McSame..

gerald strother   April 19th, 2008 5:14 pm ET

Obama has IT now (NO way for HILLARY TO WIN NOW JUST ADD IT UP ) IF SHE WIN BY 10 POINT OBAMA STILL WILL WIN WHEN IT IS ALL OVER ""

Fendley   April 19th, 2008 5:14 pm ET

Who ever doesnt vote for Senator Clinton, is going to live to bitterly regret it. He doesnt know what he is talking about. There has been too much negative reviews on him. I dont trust him any furthur that I can throw a cow uphill. There is something sneaky, arrogrant and "I am better than you are" attitude. Same with his silly wife. We dont need or want them. they should go somewhere else in the world where they belong and can maybe help.

Sharon in Oakland, CA   April 19th, 2008 5:14 pm ET

When I saw the video of the rally last night, I could not help but to smile. It was amazing to see all those people there to see/hear Senator Obama. I can just imagine how the electrifying energy lifted the spirits of everyone present, I know it lifted mine. I'm sure those people walked away from that inspiring rally FIRED UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My monthly (someimes weekly) donations are being put to good use!!

suzanna riedl   April 19th, 2008 5:13 pm ET

dr maya angelou is supporting hillary clinton. what does that tell you ?

don from canada   April 19th, 2008 5:13 pm ET

Well McCain thinks that Hamas supports Obama, more fear mongering just like Hillary does. Same old politics – try to win by Fear!
Oboma is just what the U.S. needs, he is prepared to try new strategies of diplomacy over the strong arm of war. Wake up McCain the war costs trillions and didn't work, same old same old from you and Hillary. Why are you two so afraid of trying a new method, it can't be because the old strategies have been successful because we all know they have not. In case you hav not noticed there is a new wind blowing and its time for a change.

Martha, Long Beach Peninsula, WA   April 19th, 2008 5:13 pm ET

Proud to contribute to the OBAMA ads…

For the first time in my lifetime -even if I'm not as old as McCain- I have enthusiastically supported a political campaing: the OBAMA campaign.

My vote goes to OBAMA!!!

AWESOME DEBATE HILLARY!!   April 19th, 2008 5:13 pm ET

Hillary Is AWESOME!!! . It Is A Honor To Vote For You !!!!

FreshFlavor   April 19th, 2008 5:13 pm ET

Lets wait to see what happens on Tuesday. If she wins by 3% then thats a loss in my book.

Obama 08

Lets try and keep this thing positive Barack. Leave Hillary mucking around in the gutter where she belongs. We aren't buying it.

Dilly WA   April 19th, 2008 5:13 pm ET

He can organize, inspire, motivate and raise money. Cinton has "30 years experience" and she can't manage a campaign. Who do we wnt in the White House?

Jason from Colorado   April 19th, 2008 5:12 pm ET

Well great, let's hope it pays off. So long as Obama can stay within 10% or so of Clinton, he's done all he needed to in Pennsylvania.

Sorry Clinton folks, buy May 6th marks the end of this election.

Obama 08!

KM   April 19th, 2008 5:11 pm ET

Obama is being forced to spend like crazy, Clinton has made it clear that she is in this till she has absolutely no chance to get the nomination and possibly beyond. If he doesn't give it all he's got he will have to spend more between now and the convention. Clinton is spending less because she has less to spend – less support. I just hope Obama can get this battle behind him soon and focus on the fall election.

Ratgurl   April 19th, 2008 5:11 pm ET

I'd like to see how the Clinton campaign budget is holding up these days. $3.3 million is a lot of money……..

Keep on pushing her, Barack!

bill in pa   April 19th, 2008 5:11 pm ET

I can't wait until Wednesday. The politicians will have moved to North Carolina. Good riddance to both of them.

HH   April 19th, 2008 5:05 pm ET

Obama will win Pennsylvania. There is no doubt by looking at the polls he is closing very fast in these last few days. PENNSYLVANIA IS NOT LIKE OHIO so I wish people would stop saying it is. It is more like Wisconsin which Obama blew her out there.

Realistic   April 19th, 2008 5:05 pm ET

Looks like the very end of Hillary, since nobody will give her money any more.

Kimberly in Texas   April 19th, 2008 4:51 pm ET

“I believe that Senator Obama has a rare ability to restore America’s credibility and moral authority and to get others to join us in tackling serious global problems that will determine our own well being and security,” – Sam Nunn

Obama 2008!

Pat Va   April 19th, 2008 4:51 pm ET

Talk about arrogance!!! Hillary and Bill Clinton are the epitome of arrogance not to mention their dishonesty and constant lies and deceptions. I and so many, many more like me will never vote for her should she STEAL the nomination from Senator Obama. She would not stand a chance against McCain cause aa much as some Republicans don't like McCain or his views they hate Hillary more. She's a total disaster waiting to happen and a disgrace to women everywhere.

John   April 19th, 2008 4:51 pm ET

Who said Obama is lier. Obama is telling the truth. The Bosnia story, NAFTA story make Clinton a lier. They are not a misspoken words. Hillary is using all kitchen sink politics to attack using everything she has. but still she couldn't win more votes, more delegates, or more states. That is because people dont trust her. She is a lier.

no to obama   April 19th, 2008 4:50 pm ET

The country has problems to be worked through but obama is not the answer.
Clinton or McCain………but NEVER obama. Never.

Lisa from GA   April 19th, 2008 4:50 pm ET

To "Obama the Liar".. at least one of Clinton supporters realize Obama is going to the general election… and ps….tell the others supporters and also just to let you know people who type in all caps is ignorant… no need to rant and rave… its inevitable…..lol.

beans, belize C.A   April 19th, 2008 4:49 pm ET

At least he is not runing no fear tactic ads like what hilliary ran in Ohio and Texas.

Obama 08 Now!!!!!!!

Mal Sterling   April 19th, 2008 4:49 pm ET

Time to finally cut the tumor that is Billary away from US politics once and for all.

Go Obama.

Mark   April 19th, 2008 4:49 pm ET

Hillary who?

John   April 19th, 2008 4:47 pm ET

Way to buy the voters…

Lisa from GA   April 19th, 2008 4:46 pm ET

Everybody has something to say when Obama fights back.. but when Hillary " started " throwing the kitchen sink.. no one said anything.. Hillary is her own worst enemy and it is sad that she nor her supporters dont see this….
ps Obama … dont throw the sink at her.. throw the cabinet that holds the sink tooooooooo!

Independent, Butler PA   April 19th, 2008 4:45 pm ET

Obama is going to lose in PA by double digits.

that debate showed that he is to weak to stand up to the republicans

everyone in my community has been talking about it.

I think the polls are wrong… i think he loss many undecideds

Venus   April 19th, 2008 4:45 pm ET

Go Obama! She doesn't have much money! All of her supporters are broke or have given the allowed amount! Kick her to the crub and throw a bucket of MUD on her! You just have to lost with less than 10-
I can't wait to see her pack-it-up and hit the dusty roads and take Bill with her! Can't believe she would step foot in that state considering how many jobs her and Bill have sold to South America and China!

pablo   April 19th, 2008 4:45 pm ET

Just make sure to come together and vote against 4 more years of McBush when the inevitable finally becomes clear.

Elle   April 19th, 2008 4:45 pm ET

If Obama does not have the confidence to win PA without controlling the airwaves and spending money in an outragious and ridicilous manner he is in trouble .
How can he maintain or safekeep a national budget when throwing money around without regard.
OBama did so in Ohio and it did not give him and advantage.
If he can reach so many more via media means then why does he not pull out wins in those states ?

PA FOR OBAMA   April 19th, 2008 4:44 pm ET

Obama is a "breath of fresh air", we NEED him in the white house. Had the honor to see him speak here in Pa–he is amazing! No more of the same–please. Go Obama!!!

P.G.   April 19th, 2008 4:42 pm ET

Congressman Tim Ryan edorsed Hillary Clinton today! That 4 Super delegates in two days. Not bad and she didn't need to spend 8 million bucks!

Grif   April 19th, 2008 4:40 pm ET

Prove me wrong…. After Pennsylvania… When He loses Big…..

Susan MO   April 19th, 2008 4:39 pm ET

Pennsylvania is the state of people he insulted.

Obama lost our vote.

Strongely for Hillary Clinton

John Smith   April 19th, 2008 4:38 pm ET

When it comes to "fighting" with Hillary, people need to keep in mind that Hillary grew up as a Republican. She is a converted democrat by marriage with a lot of baggage for the democratic party!

John Smith   April 19th, 2008 4:37 pm ET

I see, some women do not want a man who can defend his "good name" and reputation.

kevin from alaska   April 19th, 2008 4:36 pm ET

Can the weekend CNN moderators post something that isn't anti-Obama?

I think not.

McCain is all war and Hillary is all talk.

Obama is truth.

Obama/America '08 & '12

Ben   April 19th, 2008 4:35 pm ET

There needs to be a limit to campaign spending. I don't like to think that millions of blue collar Americans are sending their hard-earned money, and with the best intentions, to advertising agencies.

Obama Yeah   April 19th, 2008 4:32 pm ET

Obama had a crowd of 35,000 at a rally in Philly. Yeah Obama

Trang, Fremont, CA   April 19th, 2008 4:29 pm ET

Senator Obama,

Most political ads in the past has been destructive, always pointing errors of the other. Your ad is uplifting and gives hope to the American people. I definitely don't mind making weekly contributions when you run a positive campaign like that. We have to recognize that there are problems to be solved but we also have to give them hope. Any problems can be solved if we have the will to do it.

mitch from ark.   April 19th, 2008 4:28 pm ET

carolyn wong   April 19th, 2008 4:25 pm ET

I hate hillay she gives proffesional women a bad name. if she was smart enough she would have embraced Obama's Ideas about political reform.

rockus   April 19th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

Reading this article, I finally understand Obama's supporters primal anger when something bad is said about him, especially when it's true. Small donors are given in small, but duplicable amounts to his campaign. If he somehow loses, all the money would have been spent for a lost cause.

susannah jones   April 19th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

I'm getting Baracknaphobia…this guy is scary….I hope he tanks in the general election…I'd rather go with John McCain than have to deal with his mob of blackshirts marching round the country telling us what to do if he gets in

susannah jones

tom wilcox   April 19th, 2008 4:19 pm ET

If Hillary wins the primary I will not vote at all and I will tell my friends and family not to vote. If Hillary or Mcain win the lobbyist wave won

fdes   April 19th, 2008 4:17 pm ET

good buy

Cowboy Jack   April 19th, 2008 4:15 pm ET

Obama can buy votes, but he can't buy a win…..

He tried this in OHIO but LOST!! How pathethic!!

Archie Bunker Democrats prove they don't want to vote for Obama, which means he would lose to McCain in the general

HILL YEAH   April 19th, 2008 4:15 pm ET

Obama is throwing more of the negative kitchen sink the clinton and he is not ready for this job. He has lived with negativity thrown at him for the last 20 years and that shows in the way he has run this campaign.

Charlie Richmond   April 19th, 2008 4:09 pm ET

Obama will win the primaries and will be the next president!

William Golis   April 19th, 2008 4:06 pm ET

Obama has the funds because we support him with our money and our votes. Yes We Can.

TN   April 19th, 2008 4:03 pm ET

Hopefully it will get clinton out of the race!!!!! i'm so tired of her!!!!
