Obama dominates Pennsylvania airwaves in home stretch

(CNN) – Barack Obama has spent more than $8 million on Pennsylvania campaign spots over the past month – more than twice what Hillary Clinton has – as ad spending this year continues its record pace.

The Illinois senator’s presidential campaign had spent $8.1 million in the four-week period ending April 16, half of that in the critical – and pricey – Philadelphia ad market, according to an analysis conducted by TNS Media Intelligence/CMAG, CNN’s consultant on political advertising spending.

He is spending $400,000 a day, on a pace to exceed $10 million in ad spending – more than double Clinton’s $3.3 million in ad buys.

“Senator Obama’s campaign has done an excellent job of putting their fundraising advantage to work with record Pennsylvania ad buys, forcing Senator Clinton to spend valuable time and money in a state where she had a double-digit lead in the polls only a few weeks ago,” said Evan Tracey, chief operating officer of TNSMI/CMAG.

“If her own message connects with voters and pays off, it could be a big moral boost for the Clinton campaign. If not: the Obama strategy has paid off.”

Obama is also dominating the airwaves in upcoming primary states, spending $1.4 million in North Carolina and $1.8 million in Indiana, and has ads on the air in Oregon, according to the analysis. Clinton has made smaller buys in North Carolina and Indiana, and has not yet begun airing ads in Oregon.

The biggest problem of sen.Obama is that he does not want or can't understand,
that you can't feed the family on HOPE you normally need food or money for that one and to get food or money you need WORK not DREAMS.

Throwing money at people to win at any cost and name-calling negative campaigning, by a rich, ivy-league, lying, lawyer-politician.

Obama was the candidate for "change", right? At least that's what the zombie signs say.

Maybe people will wake and grow up.

Go Hillary. Fight the money machine.

I am happy to hear that it seems Sen Obama's message is not just spreading in Penn, at this point because of all the media coverage that no one could have dreamed up or paid for totally priceless.

His numbers are climbing everywhere. And john Mc Cain today was such a idiot after this bitter comment blew back against against Clinton. He was holding a sermon on how Obama is out of touch with the American people. Duh!!!!

How stupid could he been come on people This train is leaving the station. If he is going to continue down a negative road November is going to be a cake walk!

Keep your head up Sen Obama Right on through to next Jan 09

Even if he can't win in Pennsylvania, he'll attempt to bleed her out here. Her donations are drying up, especially after it was reported she has 109 million sitting in the bank. If she does win in this state, she'll come out limping badly.

A vote for Hillary is a vote for McSame

She has no chance of winning. The longer she remain in this race, the lower is Obama chance of winning in November against GOP. This is because of her negative campaign.
Obama needs to start hitting back and she has plenty of bad stuff around her. She need to be thrown away.
Go PA, let us start fighting the real enemy

Obama's new ad that bashes clintons healthcare plan is a lie. He speaks of change and changing old washington politics but he just LOST my vote in November. He has demonstrated he is not the leader that I want. Obama also takes lobbiest money. check out Usatoday for details. He lies and prior to last week he may of gotten me as a voter in November but he and his own kitchen sink plan has changed me from that. Clinton or mcCain in 09

  15. Democrat in Oregon

If I remember correctly, Obama dumped all his money into Ohio and lost by double digits.

If I were Obama, I would start thinking about speaking truthfully to the people of PA, and come up with some policies they could judge him on. Hosing the public down with intrusive television ads will not win the state for him.

Hil LIAR y is almost done. Her and Bill have lost alot of respect. It is the end of the Clintons by their own doing. The Repubs couldn't even knock them down. Finally the Dem party is waking up and putting the Clintons out to pasture.

It is amazing how HIllary supporters are so quick to call Obama a liar but BOSNIA!!! Please explain. NAFTA and the latest court case involving Rendell, Please explain! The one thing that Obama continues to do is be honest and transparent to the public but the media tries to take everything and spin it; including CNN.

Soory folks, but that is how you reach people and have them realize that it is time to chande Washington for our benefit, not that of lobbysits, PACS, special interests, and pet projects of the Senate (earmarks), that do nothing to help the economy. America has had enough of the Clinton Bush dynasty, and want a president that tells us the truth, not what we want to hear, and not someone who panders to people for their votes. GO OBAMA 08
