I am Black Obama supporter and I am appalled by some of the personal attacks on the McCains. They explained the enormous difficulties involved and the problems they would face even if they could get outside the walls. Additionally all attempts had to be OK'd by the senior POW officer. There was group punishment if anyone was caught.

Several attempt swere partlysuccessful, Iie, some survived until recaptured and some were killed outright. (Hanoi area prisoners). Several POWS in SVN did escape in completely different circumstances.

BTW, as a combat aviator, 324 missions, it's SEER, not SEAR.
