From

BLUE BELL, Pennsylvania (CNN) – It's now been ten days since Democrat Barack Obama has made himself available for questions from his traveling press corps, and it appears as though that number could rise even higher.

Aides have said it's unlikely he’ll hold an availability with reporters before Tuesday's Pennsylvania primary, but that they "could always add one." Given their track record over the past few days, however, that doesn't sound promising.

Since the start of the weekend, the possibility of a press conference has been dangled in front of reporters twice—only to be snatched away at the last possible moment.

On Saturday, reporters were teased for the majority of the day with a possible evening avail, only to be told at the eleventh hour that it would not be happening. To make it up, staffers said they were aiming to put him in front of cameras on Sunday but that, too, did not happen.

And at a diner Thursday morning, a reporter slipped in a question about former President Jimmy Carter's meeting with Hamas, but Obama responded by saying he just wanted to eat his waffle. Later that afternoon while taping an interview for "The Daily Show," a reporter tried to ask Obama about a new Clinton ad and the Obama ad that came as a response. According to a pooled report, the White House hopeful asked the reporter if she was "supposed to be" asking a question then. He added that he would consider answering but that it would depend "on how well behaved you are." In the end, he did not take the question.

Traveling press secretary Jen Psaki declined to comment on exactly why no time has been allotted for traveling press questions since a press conference in Indianapolis April 11. Obama did, however, make time Thursday for a few one on one interviews.

Mr. Obama and your canpain it dosen't mater how much money you all raise for your campain , its going to be up to the American people who is going to be the next president of the United States. Money dosen't buy elections. I think its hard to beleive that all this money you'll getting its from small donations ,I think later will find out where it all realy came from.it seems like all these poeple you'll clainming are donating can't be havihg money problems ,an donate so much?

I think Sen. Obama is a very upfront and honest man. He CAN answer the tough questions, of which the press aren't asking. The "press" only wants to know about Rev. Wright, or his "bitter" statements, and after explaining those situations a dozen times, he's understadably, tired of answering the "same old" questions. Which he's answered gracefully and articulately.

Why aren't they asking Sen. Clinton about that BIG LIE she told about Bosnia? What about how she and Pres. Clinton earned over $100 million dollars as a senator and EX-president? Or how she is still taking money from special interest groups and lobbyists? (AND NO, BARACK HAS NOT TAKEN ANY DURING HIS PRESIDENTIAL CAMAPAIGN!!)

So I just want to say to all the Clinton supporters out there, "Do we live in England?" I ask that, because if you notice, this country has been run by two wanna-be "royal" families for over 25 yrs. And look at where we currently are. We need a CHANGE. And another Clinton is not CHANGE. That's history repeating.

I believe the $200+ million Sen. Obama has raised from ordinary CITIZENS, says more than any words I could express in this posting. To all PA Voters: Vote smart tomorrow, don't vote for '92-00. Vote for the change we need right now.. Vote for a better America..Vote for Barack Obama…
Thanks for reading….

You know three days after the PA primary, HRC and her hubby will be in Los Angeles for a court date 04/25/2008 in regards to the Peter Paul case.

Check out YouTube and search for Peter Paul/Hillary Clinton. Hillary has been expose for a crime she denies whole heartly and she was caught on film again. Hillary is a BIG FAT LIAR. I voted for her in California but just over 15 months, has persuaded me to vote for Barack Obama. She talks negative about the democratic party member as if she works for the Republicans. It's true she relies on the African and Hispanics American vote (whom she care nothing about) to get her through the primaries and caucases.

She has nothing else to gain other than to destroy the Democratic Party if she doesn't get her way.

DNC, please shut Hillary down before its too late. If she can't have her way, she'll bring everyone down with her including the DNC.

Patty – Your comment was paranoid and racist. Are you kidding me?

All these conspiracy theories are ridiculous.

As for all those people who are putting down Barack Obama in your mean spirited posts, it seems to me that many of you need to learn a but of grammer. Most of your posts don't even make sense. If you are going to be an intelligent person posting here, at least make sure your words are spelled corrected and you are not mixing your words around.

Honestly, I cannot stand to read illegible posts. Get an education. From what I understand, most of those supporting Hillary Clinton are uneducated.

Heck, even I did not finish college and I can write better than most of you. Before you start attacking Barack Obama and calling him stupid, evil, etc. think about the fact that you are being just as evil and hateful.

Oh, I forgot – the only thing they care about it playing "gotcha" with Barack …

It would seem to me that Senator Clinton's supporters seem to mirror her image. Everything's fine until the tables start to turn. Wel lfor all I care every single one of you can vote for McCain WHEN Obama wins the nomination. I would find some sort of sick satisfaction in listening to all of you pout about it later. You all probably voted for Bush so you didn't seem "un-patriotic". Your candidate it fighting a losing race. If you really care about the principles she SAYS she stands for then quit pouting and vote for the man who's going to be in a position to do something about it. Buncha crybabies.

How odd that Bill talks with one of the most conservative commentators and then Billary gets the nod from a beyond conservative news paper.

Now they either want Billary to face McSame, so they can rip her in the election, or maybe she is a wolf in sheeps clothing.

She voted for the war and won't appologize. Then she votes for the bankruptcy bill. She lies about everything.

So who is Billary. A ploy for the Republicans or a Republican?

Considering all the poor reporting by the media, I can't say I blame Obama. He needs a respite from all the hounds trying to catch him utter a questionable word that they can analyze and reanalyze to the viewer's dismay.

As for his oratory and his writing abilities, Obama has proven himself over and over in that regard. Furthermore, he has kept his cool throughout all the Clinton negative ads. . .unlike Clinton whose personality changes each hour.

I'm sorry, but nothing anyone can write will convince me that she will be a good president. I totally distrust her and her husband and many of her campaign staff.

I happen to be an Obama supporter, but I want to offer this "insider's look" into the media:

I work with the media every day. (It's in a completely other non-political arena.) For the most part, they are just like you and me, that is to say, folks just doing their job. But sometimes their job means to dig, to infer, to cajole, to pry, to twist . . . to try to get me to say things that, in fact, are not true. They do it because their editors are leaning on them to "get a story," to "get an edge," to "get news." Fine. As long as there is actual NEWS. And so, I can understand why ANY politician might want to take a break from the media for a while – especially after that debacle a week ago courtesy of ABC. The media nags – and the days of JOURNALISM, true fact-checking, report-the-facts journalism are long gone.

I guess America is too smart to be fooled by the press. First you say he is always in the press. Now, you are saying he is avoiding the press. I don't recall seeing Senator Clinton making any press conferences either. No, that wouldn't be fair because the BLACK man still needs to prove himself in everything he does. Wait wait I meant to say, that it is okay for Hilliary to have women for hillary on her website and that is not sexist. While don't you dare mention any minority to support Obama and that would be using the race card. Huum, I'll just stick to the cnadidates are busy trying get the last votes they can and don't want to spend any time catering to the press. Nope! That makes too much sense.

Is Obama afraid that he may slip up and say something that he may regret? I suppose he wants to make sure he does not put his foot in his mouth. He is really someone's puppet and he is only allowed to speak to the media when he is allowed. I would really like to know who is pulling his strings. Got to be someone who is throwing his or her money into his campaign. I wonder who that is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope when all of this is over we don't hear that some illegal happenings went on in his campaign.

Anyway, money does not always buy what you want. Clinton, I am behind you 100%.

Marie   April 21st, 2008 8:52 pm ET

In addition to the controversial statements that Mr. Obama has been making lately, he also has quite an interesting crowd of friends. Hasn’t anyone heard of the old phrase, “birds of a feather, flock together”? Let’s face it, let’s take a look at Mr. Obama’s close friends, first there’s the Chicago slumlord, then there’s controversial pastor who is pushing all these conspiracy theories (it’s one thing to have such theories, it’s another thing to be spewing hate talk from your mouth to your parishioners when you are suppose to be inspiring them with God's love) and now we know for a fact, it’s not media hyperbole, that Mr. Obama is “close friends” with a known terrorist, Bill Ayers from The Weather Underground, who has admitted to having NO REMORSE over what he was trying to do 40 years ago. Mr. Obama can try to underestimate the American intelligence but I don’t care if Mr. Obama was 8 years old or not; the bottom line is, if the man has no remorse than he would do it all over again regardless of how much time has gone by and Mr. Obama should be more discerning of the friends he keeps.

No wonder! Without a script he is more boring and mistake prone than in the fraudulent image created by the liberal "Messiah."'s handlers. Already, in the heat of the campaign, he has begun campainging and talking like the typical political hack he wasn't supposed to be.

Marie   April 21st, 2008 8:50 pm ET

I am starting to see a pattern here and I think Mr. Obama's campaign mgr knows that he needs to limit himself. Mr. Obama has now made a third statement that he has had to pull back and say “what he meant was…” His last statement was a real winner. I wonder how many children who have been born to teenage mothers feel as though they are a punishment to their mothers and on top of that what message is he sending to all the children/people whose teenage mothers chose to take on their responsibility and bring them into the world – that they are a punishment and better off dead? This man can talk the talk all he wants about HOPE but this man can't even see how a teenage mother bringing her child into the world is not only a great act of courage but it is a huge act of HOPE & here our potential Democratic candidate says that he would not want his teenage daughter to be "punished by a baby". Nice. The man has no idea what he’s saying and because he's feeling confident that he’s going to win this election he is slipping up and his true thoughts/opinjons are coming out – accidentally. I think a lot of his supporters do not want to admit it because they don’t want to feel duped like the people who supported President Bush, Jr. feel now.

Venus   April 21st, 2008 8:45 pm ET

The ad Hillary is running in PA is just sick. It is a slap in the face to anyone how has lost a loved one because of Osama and these wars. How low can this woman go? How did she think this was a good idea? The only experience Hillary has had in the White House was being a WIFE….. not a co-president, VP, or even a consultant. I am a woman that wants a strong woman president one day but Hillary is not it!

As for Obama I was a strong supporter of his but now I'm not so sure. His comment about small-town people bothers me. Even though he did a very good job at explaining the comment away I'm not sure I believe his explanation. The fact he isn't doing one interview before PA seems weird to me. Yes, the media can be hard to deal with but it is something a president MUST deal with everyday.

I will vote for Obama in the primary and the election….. unless is the election there is a strong independent. I do be as of right now Obama is the best choice.

Obama has not been vetted. He has gotten a free ride from the media. Its not slinging mud to ask questions about character. Ayers is an issue. Obama has not been truthful. Plus, Obama supporters can not say "don't touch my guy" when they are slinging mud daily at Clinton. PA voters, vote smart, don't vote for popularity.

Berndt   April 21st, 2008 8:16 pm ET

It is sad how so many Obama supporters start using the 'race' issue anytime anything that could be remotely perceived as negative against him comes to light. No one is "dragging him through the mud" by stating a fact – he is staying away from the media lately.

Honestly, I don't care why he is doing that. The MORE IMPORTANT question you should be asking yourself is how can you support a candidate who supported the Cheney/Republican Engergy Bill that is costing American citizens millons of dollars in higher gas/fuel prices while the big oil companies receive billons of dollars in breaks, etc.

If that is the type of change that his campaign is based on, he can keep it.

Go Hillary!!!

Bet you Clinton-folk would like to burn a cross in his yard or hang a noose in the tree, wouldn't you? No Klan! No Klintons! Obama will win, and now you sorry Clinton folks can either redeem and vote Obama or shame and vote McCain, show your true colors America, is it white, or red, white, and blue?

FEAR TACTICS 08   April 21st, 2008 8:01 pm ET

Shannon, Get real.
Hillary is definitely a fraud. She would do anything to get elected. Back in February, she almost cried and started whining about how she always was asked first and tough questions during all the debates. Then, she is acting all mighty saying that Obama was whining about getting asked the tough question during the past debate. I think there's a several terms for such individuals as Hillary Clinton, did I hear FLIP FLOPPER.

Independent-woman-voter-for-Obama   April 21st, 2008 8:01 pm ET

Good for Sen. Obama for avoiding the media! The media misinforms, misleads, all too often. Just recalling the ABC 'debate' is disgusting.

Enough with the debates, and by the way, the ABC was the worst debate I have ever seen. The rest of the debates, the pundits said Sen. Obama looked and sounded presidential. I think that the tabloid-addicted public can't get enough drama….. get a life. Read, do your homework learn the truth about the candidates.

WHY would you vote for someone who VOTED FOR THE IRAQ WAR?
She and McCain are just as responsible for the 10 TRILLION debt we are in; the deaths, maiming, suicides of our poor soldiers! We still do not have an honest number of how many Iraqis have died.

Say, what you will about Sen. Obama, but he is a far better person than Hillary. The attacks began with her, and continue with her camp. Aren't we sick & tired of politics as usual?

Sharon Minnesota   April 21st, 2008 7:59 pm ET

People, If you're going to call people names the get a dictionary or use your spell check. Liar is spelled LIAR not lier.

Mr. Obama is going to have to face the press sooner or later. However, I can't say I blame him for hiding out with his poor record of answering difficult questions. Maybe he thinks there might be more scary reporters out to get him.

P.S. Hillary will be on CNN with Larry King. She's not hiding.

Hillary   April 21st, 2008 7:57 pm ET

Hillary knows she is not going to win this nomination but want to jeopardise the chance of the party that will produce Obama presidency. One thing is certain after this primary she should be examined because she has taking it as matter of live and death.
OBAMA 08

Lois   April 21st, 2008 7:56 pm ET

Ok I have never posted before but here we go….

The ad Hillary is running in Pa is just sick. It is a slap in the face of all that have lost a loved one because of Osama and the war. I think this woman could not get any lower. How did she think this was a good idea? Ok next she lived in the White House so that equals experience? Her experience was doing (or not doing hahah ) too bill what the interns did when they weren't around. She is a lier and I pray she doesn't get in to the White House.
As for Obama I was a strong supporter, but as of recent I'm not so sure anymore. I'll be honest I'm kind of hoping for an independent, but if not I'll vote for Obama in primary and election… I think as of right now he is the best choice, unless a third party comes into play.

PS start farming with Ethanol we will go back to an agriculture society. I'm not saying it is a bad thing…. unless they find a way to outsource corn.

Blah, blah, blah.

McCain and Clinton have decades of experience dealing with political free-for-alls.

Obama has speech writers and a mantra that sounds like a brain-washing record that keeps skipping.

See the difference?

To all Obama supporters !!!!!
You are beeing pulled be Obama's speaches and beeing likable by younger generation, but he is unable to do any changes, it's just the
speach, talk about the change. I feel so sorry for all of Obama's supporters. The language, and the comments are out of lavel . It;s hard to read such a teksts and I feel, if his supporters are that way, then the Country will have even more problems then ever.
We need smart, experienced, hard working person in the White House.
Clintons had a chance to show IT !!!!!! I will support the Candidate, who proved that will work hard !!!!! HILLARY IS THE BEST CANDIDATE !!!!!

Let's revisit Barack's NAFTA GATE. Barack's surrogates met with Canadian Government officials to tell them not to take his speeches to the voters about NAFTA seriously. Barack lied and said there were no meetings; later admitted there were. Fast Forward – 3 amigos, all presidents of US, Canada, and Mexico meeting about NAFTA to get around the voters in their respective countries. Subverting The Democratic Process. Now should RED FLAGS go up about Barack's NAFTA Gate? Will he slip into Bush's spot and continue the "three amigos" meetings. Think! Why would a presidential candidate meet with a foreign power?

NickNas   April 21st, 2008 7:47 pm ET

ALL you need to know about the difference in Hillarys supporters and Obamas supporters is right there before you.

THEY TALK TALK TALK TALK and she is BROKE! She Lies and her people pretend ( I say pretend because NO ONE is this stupid) that the Videos and recordings and testimony of people who actually KNOW them and have WORKED with them are reality.

Even Hillary and Bill won't loan themselves any more Money.

SO I ask WHERE IS THE BEEF all of you Hillabots??? I am Broke as hell right now but even I give to Obama. What is YOUR excuse??? Huh??? We are REALLY Waiting………Seriously.

Go Hillary

Not Available or Busy   April 21st, 2008 7:46 pm ET

Uh, I'm thinking Barack may be just a little busy. He is up against hourly personal attacks from Hillary. He is campaigning against the entrenched old school Democrats in Pennsylavania like Randell and Nutter. Then there is Hillary Clinton herself as well as Bill Clinton and sweet little old Chelsea Clinton who took SNIPER FIRE herself but can't take questions from the press. AND he has closed the gap considerably. Good grief now the press is whinning about no time with him.

Remember Obama doesn't have to win PA…I would love it if he did but he is not the one with that expectation. Hillary needs to win by a sizeable double digit…if Obama loses by 5 or less points he is a huge winner.

Olivia   April 21st, 2008 7:43 pm ET

Well, he does suffer from foot and mouth disease. Don't forget, he's the guy that voted PRESENT many times in the senate. He's the guy that was walking in Hillary's footsteps earlier in the race so as not to misstep. He is the "bitter" guy. His campaign has to put him in wraps so that his arrogance and cockiness doesn't get the better of him. They are being super cautious.

What a jerk!

Eugene Markelli   April 21st, 2008 7:43 pm ET

Is it any wonder given how the press corps conducted themselves before Ohio and Texas when they recklessly stirred up controversy in the final days before the election, depriving both the candidate time to respond to the charge and the voters time to consider the new information. It's not about the press corps!!!, there is nothing they should be reporting now, 48 hours before the election, that they have not reported in the last seven weeks. They need to back off now and let the voters of Pennsylvania decide without any eleventh hour interference!

Daniel, Loganville. Ga.   April 21st, 2008 7:42 pm ET

Why should he? With your fair and unbiased reporting You will only twist his words or take them out of context. GO OBAMA!! Focus on the task as hand

Robert   April 21st, 2008 7:41 pm ET

Emma CA   April 21st, 2008 7:40 pm ET

Wow, you Obama haters, you are quite the opportunists, ready and eager to drag Obama through the mud. Your criticisms do not appear to be based on his policies, his grasp of the constitution, his ability to
connect well with Americans and his remarkable ability to make sense of
issues and solutions.

John Smith   April 21st, 2008 7:39 pm ET

When I hear people say, "we need Hillary to turn this economy around," my stomach grinds! Do these people think that "all the conditions" that were present during the Clinton years (including getting Gore back as VP, and a Repulican House/Senate) will be back if Hillary were to be president? This is so sad!! Bill has helped ship all the jobs of the 90's overseas; no Clinton will ever bring back those jobs. The Clintons had this planned all along; now they are making the benefits from those past deals that they made ($109 million came from where?). The Clintons will only make more deals, if anyone ever gets them back to that White House. How stupid can some people be amazes me everyday!!

donna4hillary   April 21st, 2008 7:38 pm ET

can someone please tell me about the change that obama says this country needs? i only know that he really thinks change is in order but he has never said what he means by that. i kinda dont like that he keeps talking about hope because it sounds as if we, the people, do not have any, never did and only he can see to it that we can have hope. that makes me feel like a loser in every aspect of my life. kinda like theres never been a reason for me to have any hope until he came along. just my opinion.

Angela   April 21st, 2008 7:38 pm ET

Why is he paying the media to follow him around if he won't answer their questions? He knows that when he doesn't follow a script, he makes a mess of things and can't afford to do that before PA. There was a story earlier that he wouldn't answer a question because he was eating a waffle?

You are entitled and have the right to know everything that you possibly can about the person that you would want to be your President. If the media tries to "dig up the dirt" on Hillary or Obama, then let them, or do the research yourself. I can't believe Obama supporters could really believe that the media distorts his words( they are his). This man has been given the easiest ride to the White House than any politician in history. Someone called the media new lynch mob, well if your Hillary you might feel that way. The media has been against her from day one. Sad thing is, if you actually listen to HER, you would see a whole differant story. The media loves Obama. They have failed to do their jobs. The American press should be ashamed. Why can we not ask Obama about his connections, his voting record, his negative campaign, Mind you one question the press would ask is while Obama was on the trail this weekend talking about Hillary being negative, his camp was on the phone trying to stir up Bosnia again, after he said Wednesday we should drop it. Obama is a fraud, he says one thing, but does another. He might win, but I think a lot of people will regret that vote a year from now.

Steve   April 21st, 2008 7:30 pm ET

Sue,
That's a nice thought, but it's probably because Obama doesn't want to lose any more votes by accidentally saying what he really thinks. It's interesting how man who has campaigned upon so-called "positive" rhetoric for change has engaged in so much negative mud-slinging toward his opponent. HMMMMMM…..

JJ The Truthteller   April 21st, 2008 7:23 pm ET

Come on. It is such a sham! A waste of time for Obama. He is much better off talking to individual voters, not the media any more. It is their bread and butter to create an uproar, they are not interested in solving the huge problems this country is facing and certainly not in any honest debate.

Obama people, seriously, one Obama against all of the experienced in Washington. Also, Obama considered more liberal than even Hillary. Do you seriously think Obama can change around 200 years of running the government. He is without much experience. He is likeable. He talks of change, but he hasn't even made a sound about change until he ran for office. You can't say Hillary hasn't voiced her opposition to the Iraq War after the initial support. You can't say Hillary doesn't know how way around Washington. You can't say Hillary hasn't more experience and people who have fixed the economy than Obama. These are perilous times. We need expertise, knowledge, and a history of networking. Please consider your vote in Pennsylvania. Our country needs reflective thought.

Salaam, Lawrence KS   April 21st, 2008 7:11 pm ET

Apparently, Senator Obama is just being careful, by avoiding that comments he would make might be twisted and used against him. Senator Clinton offers nothing but dirty tactics; she is carefully watching Obama, hoping that he "mis-speak" so she could run another 30-second negative ad, even if it would put her further into debt.

democrat   April 21st, 2008 7:06 pm ET

Hey the media showed its true colors when they came to the defense of George and Charlie. Aside from the three or four print media who ripped the way the debate was handled the media was not critical of its brethren. Even if you argue that they had a right to ask those questions of Obama the fact that they only asked Clinton about Bosnia but not Mark Penn was a HUGE show of pro Hillary sentiment from George and Charlie. They started that debate front loaded to attack Obama in the early part of the debate which is watched by more viewers before they get bored and switch channels. Besides it's not like Obama is out of the public eye, he is out talking to voters all day long, he just chooses not to talk to the media.

Shame on ABC.
Hillary is a smart lady but going negative in this campaign has completely taken her away from goods ideas she has.
I wont be surprised if she fails. She has to focus on real issues and avoid lies that Americans people already have from the Bush's administration.

The news media manipulation is DISGUTING. They now do more tabloid report than OK magazine. No wonder I stopped watching ABC news long time ago. I thought they knew better to do a fair and balance reporting and let the people make their own decisions.

Dave   April 21st, 2008 7:03 pm ET

After that one sided and slanted ABC debate, I don't blame him for not wanting to talk with the media. Why do anything to help the media di their work for the Clinton campaign.

John Smith   April 21st, 2008 7:03 pm ET

The Dems in PA can help the party by bringing this primary to a quick conclusion. That is, if they love the party and this nation over their support for Hillary. We all know who has the numbers regardless of how long this campaign goes on. Hillary's chances are so small that a vote for her is to encourage the party to continue to suffer under Hillary's need to win at all cost! This is common sense, Hillary does not have the number of (a) pledged delegates and (b) popular votes to continue without making it easy for the Republicans to win the general election. I do not hate Hillary; I love this nation and the party better than Hillary.

I want to know if anyone of these 3 jerks think Mr Obama's relationship with Wright, Ayes, Rezko are a window into his good judgment

One word: WHIMP.

Brenda   April 21st, 2008 7:01 pm ET

Barack,

I'm with YOU … do NOT speak with the media! They will easily twist the words you say and the Clintons will definitely change them around!

OBAMA for President!

Hillary has serious issues   April 21st, 2008 7:00 pm ET

When Hillary can only remain in the news cycle by negative campaigning and the "media" uses these "newsworthy" items for Q&A, who can blame him? With no money, Hillary cannot remain relevant any other way, because she has nothing positive or new to say that can gain traction. If anyone's been following, that's been the core of her campaign post-Super Tuesday. Is that leadership?

SharonR   April 21st, 2008 7:00 pm ET

And if he did become president you would never hear from him. he thinks he that important.

Joyce-Houston   April 21st, 2008 7:00 pm ET

Obama is a very smart and brilliant man it is time he take a break from the media you are right PA DEMOCRAT they take Obama words and twist them to mean the opposite Now hilliary is asking for a debate in North Carolina Obma don't have to do another debate 22 is enough.
I lost all respect for the Clintons because they are the ones who are destroying the Democratic party and John Mccain is just enjoying the fights that Hilliary keep causing.
Hilliary is power hunger and it is not about the American people it is all about her,SHAME,SHAME,SHAME on Hiliiary Clinton.
GO OBAMA GO!!!!!!
Obama gave an excellent PRESIDENTIAL SPEECH that no other candidate ever dared to address
OBAMACAN 08

Anna   April 21st, 2008 7:00 pm ET

I agree PA Democrat ,I am 62 and for first time since JF Kennedy ran when I was but 15 years old have I really been excited about a candidate running , I feel change coming on not because he is biracial which I am but because he is bringing about a change, and all that rubbish about " he is not experienced as Hillary" what I say about that is pooch pooch ,prehaps he is not as old or experienced as she but I know he has enough sense to surround himself with strong people who are .I don;t understand the fear tactics .Obama would not had gone this far had he not have strong sensible people as advisors not so Hillary who is listening to Bill and (devil and his noise )it's a Creole term my mom used to say )it's really funny when you say it in French Creole lol and so when he is president he'll do fine. As for the beast the news media I have lost respect for them not just for what is going on now but just about everything they are only interested in ratings not about fairness.

Peachy Keen   April 21st, 2008 6:59 pm ET

Aw gee Chris Welch, are your feelings hurt? Poor CNN. Why isn't Obama at our beck and call. Could it be that whenever he does talk to you, you twist his words. You have Billary on Larry King today, isn't that enough. Her lies should give you enough fodder for a couple more days.

Sniffle, sniffle Chris.

MD Democrat   April 21st, 2008 6:58 pm ET

Obama is running scared but still arrogant. He knows that he upset the people of Pennsylvania and is not willing to apologize. That is why he is dodging the media. He refuses to own up to his cheap shots and insults.

ds   April 21st, 2008 6:58 pm ET

I'm surprised any candidate opens their mouth with the way things have been taken out of context lately. Shame on the media this year.

don't vote your fears, vote your dreams   April 21st, 2008 6:56 pm ET

The media treats him like we've seen on the last debate and then wonders why he isn't all enthusiastic about making himself available to them …… ???

susie for Obama   April 21st, 2008 6:54 pm ET

LEAVE HIM ALONE! THE TRUE OBAMA WE ARE SEEING IS A TRUTHFUL MAN WHO IS HAVING TO DEBATE ON AN HOURLY BASIS WITH THE MOST ANGRY PERSON I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. SHE IS A SLIMEBALL USED CAR SALESMAN AND THE WOMEN IN AMERICA ARE BUYING IT – JUST DISGUSTING!! SHE JUST NEEDS TO GO TO MARRIAGE COUSELING AND GET OVER HER ANGER OVER BILL'S PAST THAT WAY!!

Abraham   April 21st, 2008 6:54 pm ET

I do believe in him and the message of hope he represents for USA and the whole world.
There are a lot of "deinformation" going on around his sayings, quotes and I'm sad to see that.
Could'nt we be fair in politics too ? Why don't we debate about ideas to improove everday life instead of candidates privates lifes !!

stephanie   April 21st, 2008 6:52 pm ET

He is afraid media to ask about his recent negative tone in his speech. He also afraid the questions why he can't answer the questions in the debate.

Julie M   April 21st, 2008 6:52 pm ET

He will but only if he knows the questions and answers before hand.

What is the democratic party thinking?

Devin   April 21st, 2008 6:52 pm ET

What are you afraid of Barry??? The media (finally) asks some tough questions so they are banished?

Marge Hibbing Mn   April 21st, 2008 6:51 pm ET

I wish he would avoid the whole country and shoot himself to the moon. Maybe then this country wouldn't be so divided. He is giving the presidency to the republicans. He has done more to disrupt and tear up this country than bush ever dared. Maybe some day he will get his just reward for doing this.

matthew   April 21st, 2008 6:50 pm ET

what is Obama hiding? why won't he meet with reporters?

Veterans for Obama   April 21st, 2008 6:49 pm ET

Hmmmm, reminds me of the old "you can run, but you can't hide"! However, I loved his little "Why can't I just eat my waffle" when a reporter asked him a question this am. If you want your breakfast in privacy, it's called room service.

This is not someone I want in the White House!!!!!!!!

Democrates   April 21st, 2008 6:45 pm ET

Kathy;

Your candidate is broke, owe people money, lies all the time and now is putting up fear tactic ads. But somehow you can find the time to bad mouth Obama. Get over your bias feelings and wake up. Hillary is a train wreck with her own campaign and you think voters will turn over the government to her. Please stop letting your ignorance show.

V Independent   April 21st, 2008 6:45 pm ET

Most of you sound like republicans downing both senators.
SHAME!!

Wingit   April 21st, 2008 6:45 pm ET

Pennsylvannia was the last high priced media market in the closing weeks of the primary campaign. After Tuesday, the interest of the press will start to diminish. I wonder how many reporters are getting prepared to cover the Montana primary. Certainly not the same as PA. Right now the MSM is trying to get a word to twist or misread a sentence to try and create some sort of "scoop" that they can attach their name and their company name to. I don't blame Obama for letting the press stew for a while. The MSM should contact him only when they are prepared to do some honest reporting.

Beverly Williams   April 21st, 2008 6:45 pm ET

Could it be he's just sick and tired of media manipulations??????

mitch from ark.   April 21st, 2008 6:45 pm ET

ML Holmes in OKC   April 21st, 2008 6:44 pm ET

Senator Obama does not like to answer hard questions about his chief fundraiser Rezko, his mentor, Dr. Wright or his friend, Bill Ayers and questions about character. His messages of hope and change are bogus, just pretty speeches.

Lydia   April 21st, 2008 6:42 pm ET

With every word coming out of his mouth dissected ad nauseum, he should not speak. The press has proven they cannot be trusted.

I would not trust the piranhas!

Chris From Cali   April 21st, 2008 6:41 pm ET

After the last debate, I guess I might hide too. I understand Barack Obama is now backing out of another debate. If he cannot handle a debate, he certainly will not be able to handle the Presidency.

dEMOBRAT   April 21st, 2008 6:40 pm ET

It's starting to look like my prediction of the media's love affair for Obama going sour is coming true. That's right Obama, don't talk to those reporters—–their evil!

Media is bias   April 21st, 2008 6:39 pm ET

It's a shame that the media supports Hillary and plays all her fake and false attacks and make people believe that it's true. It's a shame that it's happening in AMerica. If Hillary wins, America will be a third world country in 2020. She just cares about herself, her ego to win, she never cares about the AMerican people. She just says anything & does anything, just to win the votes, even if it includes lying to the American people straight at their face. for people that say Clintons dont lie, just got back 8 years "I never had sexual relations with that women", He lied in the court. Are people really crazy to still support Clintons ? Give me a break … senior citizens why are u supporting the clintons ? can't u do a favor for us younger generations, we deserve a honest President. We deserve President Obama.

ChrisD   April 21st, 2008 6:37 pm ET

Barack can only give speeches; that's it. He is to scared to talk or answer any questions the media might have for him. He's a joke. Hillary '08

Marc   April 21st, 2008 6:37 pm ET

Do you think you can avoid the Press if you were in the White House? Gutless.

Steven - Salt Lake City, Utah   April 21st, 2008 6:37 pm ET

Now the media is whining too!?!
How many interviews has he done over the last week? I know I've seen him on Colbert, Real Sports with Bryan Gumble, CNN and he's on John Stewart, RAW, and another show tonight….. I think it's much more important that he is meeting with the local media (which he has been) than providing a press conference to the national press corps. There will be plenty of time for interviews with the rest of the media. Give the guy a break. I applaud him for not meeting with the media to provide more fodder for the back and forth media game between the his camp and Hillary's camp.

Can it be November already?

Dianne   April 21st, 2008 6:37 pm ET

Obama's people are wise in keeping him away from the press. When he can't speak from a script, he exposes his ineptness.

John, Brooklyn, NY   April 21st, 2008 6:37 pm ET

Gee….since when was the MEDIA the story? C'mon CNN, stop inserting yourself into the process. If there is a compelling issue, investigate it like responsible journalists. If all you want is access….stop whining!

sharon   April 21st, 2008 6:36 pm ET

Obama isn't speaking because he can' t seem to say anything intelligent…he can' afford any further remarks thaat belittle the average working person, someone on his staff his wisely recommended that he NOT make any further statements before he places himself in a worse position than he is already in….and who he really is.

Karen in Cape Cod   April 21st, 2008 6:36 pm ET

Gee…what a shock…Obama doesn't want to answer media questions.

HP Boston   April 21st, 2008 6:36 pm ET

What a wuss, crybaby, coward! We do not need this guy in office any where, enlist Obama Uncle SAM needs you to go find Bin Laden, you even look like him, infiltrate his camp. It is time you made yourself useful!!

Farrell, Houston, Tx   April 21st, 2008 6:35 pm ET

Obama is not avoiding the media, he is strategizing. The media's only concern is how his strategy will affect them.

Jason   April 21st, 2008 6:34 pm ET

Candidate Clinton hasn't held a media avail in a week either. Clinton has been ducking the media so she doesn't have to answer for her dimissive comment about southern whites at camp david reported by the huffington post.

Candidate Clinton doesn't have to answer for voting to confiscate guns while trying to portray herself as pro second amendment.

Buckman   April 21st, 2008 6:33 pm ET

People are you paying attention? Is it coincidence that the story broke that Clinton had ties to terrorists, that the very wing newspaper the same one that was instrument in pushing for impeachement of Bill Clinton is now endorsing her. This gives further credence to the belief that the Republicans want to run against Hillary.

Obama have been kind to her and probably could bring out a lot. Maybe that is why people are recommending that she quit now before the Republicans tear her apart.

All of this is only speculation but it may also be accurate. I know that some conservative radio host have encouraged Republicans to vote for Clinton when possible.

LG   April 21st, 2008 6:33 pm ET

I think it is pathetic that you don't post all comments. just pick and choose them. free press for all !!!! That's why you are falling in the ratings !!!

Chris   April 21st, 2008 6:33 pm ET

Of course Obama's hiding in the weeds! The press might ask him about Tony Rezko, Bill Ayers, Reverend Wright, Small Town America, religion, about guns! Or about any new juicy items that might pop up. He seems to have an endless treasure trove of skeletons in his closet. It's like a visit to a spooky house at a theme park! Who knows what's going to pop up next!

Plus he's not exactly winning Pennsylvania and has lost three out of the five last primaries too! He's down against McCain in national polls and Clinton is beating him in the electoral vote, catching up in the popular vote (within 0.6% if you count all states) and beating him in the accumulation of superdelegates (picking up 3 new ones this week!). Not to mention he miserably lost in that last debate…

Marie Casey   April 21st, 2008 6:32 pm ET

Hillary Clinton complained so much about how she was treated in earlier debates that Saturday Night live did a skit about it! Now she say's Barack Obama can't handle the heat! Give me a break!

Bill and Hillary Clinton have condemed the right for using fear to get votes and now she is doing the exact same thing!

Hillary Clinton has said so many stupid things it's mind boggling. On CNN last night when she said that George Bush and Dick Cheney are good men!

There is nothing that this women will not do to try and destory Barack Obama!

LG   April 21st, 2008 6:32 pm ET

Hillary has gone too far with her recent adds. She is mongering fear. She is playing the Republican role. She is shameful.

Barack is intelligent, thoughtful and so very ready to lead this country.

I hope that the people of Pennsylvana will see through her horrible campaign tactics and vote for Barack Obama.

Abbey   April 21st, 2008 6:30 pm ET

Why would he? Everything the media covers is BS and not important news. After the debate last week, I've given up on getting any kind of valuable information from the media.

Lisa   April 21st, 2008 6:30 pm ET

I think he's having a nervous breakdown, he's starting to realize he cannot beat Mccain.

By the way brushing his shoulders off while on a job interview is very unprofessional.

Lynn   April 21st, 2008 6:30 pm ET

Why would Obama talk to a media who spins and twists, continues to avaid Clinton's background with Paul and money received by Bill Clinton from China to the tune of 1.2 million dollars, the Clinton ties to the Weatthermen, uses the campaign to increase ratings and is as caught up in Washinton politics as the politicians he is fighting.

The greatest threat to a democracy is a biased media..

nitro   April 21st, 2008 6:29 pm ET

If the media is upset becouse they don't have a story to twist then they should step up their game. Create one , thats what you always do.

Canadian Neighbour   April 21st, 2008 6:29 pm ET

don't blame him….when hillary complained about getting bad press. why didn't she get out of the kitchen, instead of complaining!

why can't voters see the real hillary!….

Rachel   April 21st, 2008 6:29 pm ET

I know I will get flack from Obama supporters, but he needs to man up. He is so transparent, he doesnt want to talk to the media because he is afraid of what they will ask. He only wants to stand in front of his supporters who wont question him but just chant change change change. Hillary has been in front of people that have booed, gone in front of largely african american crowds and apologized for things she didnt even say. Obama doesnt have the guts to do something like that.

Carol in Calif.   April 21st, 2008 6:28 pm ET

I don"t blame him. Hillary is just waiting to twist his words again. How come Hillary is on Larry King tonight? Kinda unfair to Obama don"t you think! When is CNN going to report about Monica , Bill and Hillary?

NObama   April 21st, 2008 6:28 pm ET

Wow…..what a coward……God help us if a majority of Americans are stupid enough to make this gutless man president.

Dylan   April 21st, 2008 6:28 pm ET

With the media twisting everything he says of late and blowing it out of proportion to create stories out of nothing, it's probably a good strategy in the finals days before PA.

You're a good man, Barack. Keep fighting the good fight.

Obama '08

anonymous   April 21st, 2008 6:27 pm ET

oh my gosh, I can't believe that Obama's supporters are actually complaining about Hillary getting more media coverage. The media has given Obama a free ride for a long while now. Obama isn't saying much right now because he's not wanting to goof up again. Kinda like how he voted in the state senate and senate: "not present"…Just don't show up…don't speak…that way no one will know just how under-qualified and over-exploited he really is.

A WA member of the electorate   April 21st, 2008 6:25 pm ET

Lies? What lies? He might not always articulate correctly but has he got a wrong? I forget that Chinese made lapel pins are more important than our economy, the occupation of Iraq and failures in Afghanistan. Would you rather have a candidate make ambiguous statements of life in America today?

Hillary’s scorched earth campaigning will do any of us any good.

All I ask is that whoever the Democratic is, support them and not force the rest of nation live with your choice.

Gracie   April 21st, 2008 6:24 pm ET

The media needs to get a grip.

Sen. Obama does not owe them any special treatment. They are nothing more than media parasites looking to "cash in" on the "spin stories" and they need to be held in check otherwise they start thinking they can walk on water and part the red seas!

Give me a break!

Mike in Central Oregon   April 21st, 2008 6:24 pm ET

The "Media" has become the "New Lynch MOB" of the 21 century. Take the gaffe on "Bitter" the media new about Barack Obama interview on the Charlie Rose in 2004, which articulate and explains small town America. But what did the media do, follow Fox Fix News lead, fearing not to be out done on ratings. The America public needs clarity not spin. Get a spine Media! Don't worry about getting it right, just do the right thing.

Speak truth to power Obama 08!!!!

Gerald F.   April 21st, 2008 6:23 pm ET

The biggest laugh would be on the Media at the end of this election for a new President. THINK about it: Both Demcratic candidates decide ahead of time to show how UNBIASED the Media really is by having this type of election. THAT would be closer to reality if you think about it. One wins and appoints the OTHER as VP. Regardless of who wins this round. Thus showing how one sided the media has been. lol

Its so very typical that this year the Democrats destroyed each other; when either of them could have won the White House. Thank you Democrats. Thank you for giving us President McCain!! Perhaps next time the Democrats will do what is right, and not disenfranchise Florida and Michigan. But then again, what better gift is there than Barack Obama. Republicans could not have asked for a better spokesman. With his ties to home grown terrorists, racist churches, anti American statements, and a wife who was never proud of the USA; I hope they send Obama a fruit basket thanking him!

No need in feeding the network sharks. Everyone is hip to the game the media has been playing. This thing has been one big game of "your moma she so fat", thanks to the press. What a waste of time and insult to people needing encouragement about their futures.

Everyone thinks he doesn't want to answer tough questions. It's that he doesn't want to answer stupid questions. For the moderators to bring up an issue like Wright where they hashed it out for weeks and Obama gave a speech devoted to addressing this topic, what more can he say? Seriously how many people do you really think noticed and/or cared that he wasn't wearing a flag pin? 45min of a 2hr debate people! If anything that debate should make people want to vote for him. Can you see him in the White House saying oh the press is treating me so-o-o badly lock the doors I don't want to see or talk to anyone that matters. Wake up people.
I agree it is disgusting. Obama is a coward and a lier. He gets everyone else to do his dirty work.

OK – First of all —-

It's biased coverage. "BIASED" with an -ed, which turns the noun into an adjective.

Secondly —

"Biased coverage" is not a proper noun. So there is no need for the capital letters, except for the capital "B" in my sentence above because it is the first word of the sentence.

I thought Obama's people were the ones with educations.

Linda Feldman   April 21st, 2008 6:17 pm ET

The more people see the true Obama the more they like him. Big mistake not meeting with the press. McCain has a lot of good will stored up because he has been available to the press for 8 years. Let's not take our eye off of the real goal.

Misty   April 21st, 2008 6:17 pm ET

This is for Kathy

The True Obama is a good decent man- Unlike McCain or Hillary. He does not use fear tactics- Bin Ladin TV add or Lies. He does have a family which he truly cares about and after working tirelessly to rally support he need to rest up– He does not short change people– JUST the Press (which is completely incompetent)– who do not care about Iraq, healthcare or US economy but- "Bitter", she said === he said.

So be at peace and may the Best MAN win–

rustedspear   April 21st, 2008 6:16 pm ET

Obama's response to clinton's bin laden ad was weak.

this is what he should say….

In times of trial and peril. the bedrock of american strength lies in our founding principles, in our constitution, bill of rights, declaration of independence.

What we need in a president is one who will protect our constitution, keep our country united in times of peril and relentless pursue our true enemies without the distraction of partisan bickering, or kowtowing to special interests. We need a president who serves no party but the american people…

Patty   April 21st, 2008 6:16 pm ET

He could be hiding to avoid questions about his participation in the Million Man March, Ayers and Rev Wright who after his sermons about white people will be living in a 10,000 sq ft home on a golf course surrounded by predominately white people. He has an underlying agenda for the African American people against the white people. That is what we should be wary of. Read Michele's thesis, listen to his speeches at the million Man March and with Ayers. Wake up America.

bobb dobbs   April 21st, 2008 6:16 pm ET

He's like Apollo Creed shouting "No rematch, no rematch!" after his bout with Rocky Balboa.

Independent in DC   April 21st, 2008 6:15 pm ET

The press wants an interview and there not gettin it, boo hoo…cry me a river.

Hayden   April 21st, 2008 6:15 pm ET

Because Obama knows they will expose him as the fraud he really is….

Hillary's right " If you can't stand the heat stay out of the kitchen!"

Ken Austin, TX   April 21st, 2008 6:15 pm ET

Nice job Barack! That's the way to NOT give the media anything that they could possibly twist. Don't want to get their panties in a knot.

Donny Ott   April 21st, 2008 6:15 pm ET

I totally agree with Kathy's comments. Obama is an empty suit, with soaring rhetoric that he prefers to recite at rallys before his adoring fans who let him go unchallenged . Every time he tries to answer questions about substantive policy — and do so unscripted — he reveals his total lack of readiness to run this country.

This game has worked for him thus far, but it's going to hurt all of us in the end. How much longer is he going to hide behind speeches and fluff interviews? I am beyond tired of these sorts of tactics.

Just say no to Obama.

Eric   April 21st, 2008 6:14 pm ET

Its about time someone plays some jokes on the media, they deserve it. They look for anything to twist. I love the fact they have the media waiting in a room and then say the jokes on you jack. The media deserves it throw back at them for a change… Obama 08

Neil   April 21st, 2008 6:14 pm ET

The travelling media does not deserve to get any more time with Obama than they already have.

If they did their job at REPORTING THE NEWS, as opposed to MAKING THE NEWS, perhaps they'd get more time.

As Obama told the media at his speech to the AP a few days back, "You feed on controversy. You feed on conflict."

The media may be bitter about being ignored by the next President of the USA, but they have brought this upon themselves.

Noah   April 21st, 2008 6:14 pm ET

The media can not twist Obama's words if the words he speak are the truth. Obama is avoiding the press because he knows he will be asked why he supported handgun control in 96, then lied about it Wednesday, they will ask him why he claimed to not have a relationship with Ayers, even though Ayers held Obama's kick-off campaign party for the state Senate in his home, or they might ask him to explain his really bad performance on policy issues in last week's debate.

PA voters should look at all this and then cast a vote for the most experianced person that will make change in Washington and this country. That is Hillary Clinton. She will be the stronger candidate in Novemeber. PA voters need to consider who can really win the White House back. Obama is unknown and has many questions surrounding him, he refuses to answer. The republicans will make him answer. Vote Clinton.

JMO   April 21st, 2008 6:14 pm ET

Kathy's got it right – he needs someone to tell him what to say! Or he needs to know ahead of time what the questions will be to make sure he gives the right answer. Sounds like George W to me. Please let's not get another naive person with no common sense in the white house.

GO HILLARY GO

Obama is one arrogant guy.

Let's not forget Obama's going to be on the Daily Show tonight. Sorry, professional journalists, Jon Stewart is better than you.

ANYONE BUT MCCAIN '08!

MP-Pennsylvania   April 21st, 2008 6:12 pm ET

I live in a small town pennsylvania and our local news paper said they will stop publishing readers letters on election a week before the primary . And since then they had coloumists writing attacking OBAMA daily. And front page with clintons pictures for last three days. I am going to stop buying this news paper. We will not tolerate biased media.

OBAMA has to talk to people. Not the media all the time. He doesnt have the name recognition like clintons. And media twist his words.

Bitter middle age woman for OBAMA in a small town PA

Stephanie   April 21st, 2008 6:11 pm ET

I am sure he is not "avoiding" the media; however, I am amazed that he has given the media as much time as he has. It's a shame how brutal and actually cruel you guys can be. You literally "murder" whomever you do not like or agree with. You are supposed to report the facts and NOT give your opinions or try to speak for "the American People". Lou Dobbs is the worst when it comes to this. Although I watch, I really dread doing so because its so much work to have to sift between the real facts LESS the opinions and comments you guys make. Thank God for a sound mind!

gerard morei   April 21st, 2008 6:11 pm ET

Is he affraid to say something that is in the closet right now?

Grif   April 21st, 2008 6:08 pm ET

He's so scared to his own Ghost….

carlo   April 21st, 2008 6:07 pm ET

He's avoiding the media because the media is on a witchhunt. They are desperate to twist some more of his words up. It's amusing that the media bashes him unmercifully, then wonders why he doesn't want to talk. Just mind-boggling.

JCL, Kentucky   April 21st, 2008 6:06 pm ET

Gee, even George W Bush didn't start hiding from the press until AFTER the general election.

So much for bringing back transparency to politics…

Julie   April 21st, 2008 6:04 pm ET

Hey… it works for Chelsea Clinton, so why not for Sen. Obama. Chelsea''s out their stumping for Hillary just like Bill and the rest of her surrogates, yet the press has always been off limits. She NEVER has to answer ANY questions from the press.

Considering the horrible job ABC did with that so-called debate, and the ever-evolving media spin and hype, it would probably be a good idea if mainstream media just stayed the flock out of the campaigns altogether.

Jackson   April 21st, 2008 6:04 pm ET

Danny   April 21st, 2008 6:03 pm ET

Obama flip-flop that's why he want to aviods the media. Oh…..I think he want to talk to John Kerry first before talk to the media. Go away William Ayers and Obama.

ROCHELLE BRADFORD   April 21st, 2008 6:03 pm ET

I say good for him! The media has shown their distaste for the African American People and are seemingly so afraid that this black man just might win this election, now they are trying to drag him in dirt, doodoo and anything they can to make Senator Clinton win the Primary so that McCain can beat the mess out of her. She is a BIG LIER and does not care how she wins even if it takes the Democratic Party down and the people of the United States and McCain is the same way. After all she herself said that she and McCain are very good friends.

Give me a break! Barak will win and even tho I am white I am happy that it will happen.

MyMy   April 21st, 2008 6:03 pm ET

Is this the behavior we should expect from a man who says he's ready to lead the greatest nation in the world? I don't think so. If Senator Obama isn't willing to face the press, how's he ever going to be able to face adverserial leaders?

This convinces me even further that Senator Obama is not yet ready to be President.

Danny   April 21st, 2008 6:03 pm ET

Interesting   April 21st, 2008 6:03 pm ET

Alot of chicken movement is occurring from Obama. If he can't deal with tough questions now, do you think that Obama can handle those same questions as PRESIDENT or even the Nominee for the Democrats.

Carrie Pa   April 21st, 2008 6:02 pm ET

Please! Obama is taking questions from reporters. He is all over the local news.

Ardnuas   April 21st, 2008 6:02 pm ET

He is trying to get votes……. He should NOT be wasting his time with the media. The media is just trying to cause Barack and Hillary to FIGHT over something stupid!
Obama/Edwards08 Si Se Puede

SLO Bear   April 21st, 2008 6:02 pm ET

It seems like the media's primary intent is to prolong the race, increasing their attention (and earnings) at the expense of the nation's future. Obama is smart not to trust them at this time.

Granny Fite   April 21st, 2008 6:02 pm ET

Who cares. Stop whining. You've got plenty of fodder. Just open your ears at the events you are supposed to cover and think for yourselves. Is it possible that you don't really need to be spoonfed in order to produce 10 inches of copy? Stop using Clinton's words to characterize what Obama is doing and saying. That would be a refreshing break for all of us.

Penn State   April 21st, 2008 6:01 pm ET

Wow!!!!! Obama is afraid of the media. I guess he is afraid that he is going to say something stupid. Clinton is always available because she is not afraid. If you cant stand the heat Obama, get out of the kitchen.

Hillary 08′ baby!!!!!

Golden Chica   April 21st, 2008 6:01 pm ET

What is Barack Obama acting like he's the almighty? Is he afraid that he might say something that will blow up in his face before super tuesday. Who does he think he's fooling? Go Hillary! The toughest candidate running in the ticket.

PA Democrat   April 21st, 2008 5:59 pm ET

The 'MEDIA' is looking for something to 'TWIST' in the final hours before the primary!
Yea Media how you like that for the Bias Coverage!
Don't complain now it's because of all your Bias Coverage Sen. Obama has to now untwist what you guys twisted!
Not to mention that pathetic debate on Wed that took 45 min to get to an important issue!
Smart move Sen. Obama! We see tha game the media is playing. Look at how many photos of Hillary they have on here today its disgusting!
We will win Pa and most definately you will win NC!
BaROCK!

NickNas   April 21st, 2008 5:59 pm ET

Can you Blame the man?? When the press prints every lie that comes out of Hillarys mouth and never investigate them first.

When The press has refused to do thier job and REPORT the NEWS that comes out on Hillary almost DAILY!

I personally wouldn't speak to another reporter until one grew a pair and had the GUTS to report the truth about Hillary and not let her LAUGH OFF their questions.

kathy   April 21st, 2008 5:59 pm ET

Because everytime he opens his mouth he says something stupid. He is hiding out he doesnt like answering any hard questions, he likes to stick to his script. I think people are starting to see the true Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Frank, San Diego   April 21st, 2008 5:58 pm ET

Boy, you'd think Obama had stood them up for a date to the prom. What a bunch of whiners.

Maybe you guys in the media would get more respect from Obama (and Clinton, for that matter) if you weren't such a bunch of shallow, insipid, know-nothings.

Why aren't out running down real stories. Like the Pentagon's use of bought and paid for military analysts to manipulate media coverage of the war.

Oh, I forgot. That would make you look dumber than you already do.

Susan MO   April 21st, 2008 5:56 pm ET

Obama appear to be one who will get aggravated easily.

Also, he was so negative to the good people of Pennsylvania. We do not need a president who insults the people.

Now Strongely for Hillary Clinton

TOM WITTMANN   April 21st, 2008 5:56 pm ET

If I were a candidate, I would grant only interviews to recognized serious analysts and not to reporters, which are only interested in scandal, rumors and in saw discord between candidates.

Having enough money available, I would convey my message by
paid programs or publications

TOM

Craig Demeter   April 21st, 2008 5:55 pm ET

Could it be the same old politics of Washington in ducking press questions?

Oops, forgot Barack Obambi was the new face of Washington.

A.J. in FLA   April 21st, 2008 5:54 pm ET

Mr. Obamas avoidance of the media gives confort to our thought that we are in the presence of the 21st., century's GREAT IMPOSTOR

AZM   April 21st, 2008 5:54 pm ET

I'd avoid them too… everytime he opens his mouth he losses a point in the polls…

People are seeing the total and complete hypocracy that is Obama!

NOBAMA – NO WAY

lynette   April 21st, 2008 5:54 pm ET

Give the guy a break he is campaigning, like community organizers do, they work until the last call has been made, the last door has been knocked on, and the last hand has been shaken—you people make a big deal out of cornflakes, geez!!!!

v.ananthan   April 21st, 2008 5:53 pm ET

OBAMA TALKS ABOUT FUTURE HOPE AND HE IS NOT READY FOR THE PRESS NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ratgurl   April 21st, 2008 5:51 pm ET

considering how invested the media's been in HRC's campaign, why would he consort with the enemy?

TheLeftNut   April 21st, 2008 5:50 pm ET

Gee, Tony Snow must be writing this fluff. I just heard an interview with him a few minutes ago.

ratgurl   April 21st, 2008 5:50 pm ET

Reading the responses by the readers over the past few days, I see an OVERWHELMING support for Obama. I, too, support Obama and have dug into my wallet 3 times to prove it. It seems what America is saying is "we're not gonna take it anymore!" We deserve a new option, and that option has made itself available through Obama.

We don't expect perfection or miracles, we expect to have a say in how our government works. We expect accountability. We expect our Senators, Representatives, and even our President to be looking out for AMERICA FIRST, everyone else second.

Americans are notorious for their generosity the world over, but with the country in its current state of disgrace, we can barely feed & house ourselves. We will lose our reputation as a generous donor because of the corruption of government over the past 20 years.

So now we shout CHANGE. Now we demand change.

SBvoter   April 21st, 2008 5:50 pm ET

He probably doesn't want to put his foot in his mouth again…to close to the primary.
he's not good at answering questions, he just llikes to memorize speeches. what a joke.

HILLARY 08

Eric-Illinois   April 21st, 2008 5:50 pm ET

That sound you hear is the sound of a chicken coming home to roost. Stamp my foot. Turn and pout. Flip a finger. Wag it all about. But never ever forget how to talk out of both sides of your mouth. Pathetic.

middle-aged american   April 21st, 2008 5:50 pm ET

Can anyone blame him for avoiding the media? It's the media that has turned this primary season into a circus. This has been nothing short of a mud-slinging, he-said/she-said, trash-talking slander fest. And most of it is because of the way the candidates word have been interpreted by the media. I imagine there won't be any pulitzer prizes anytime in the near future. Investigative journalism has become tabloid journalism.

Shannon   April 21st, 2008 5:48 pm ET

god forbid he would answer any question that hasn't been scripted for him. He is such a fraud!
