OK lets all ask questions...why did Hillary Clinton's lead vanish from a double digit lead down to 5 in PA inspite support from a popular Govenor and 2 sitting mayors in the State; why has Sen Obama won twice as much States as Hillary; why is she still behind in delegates, and popular votes inspite that sense of inevitability 15 mths ago by the Clintons..etc, etc, etc....

I think a smarter question should be this: Hillary Clinton comes from a dynasty. She has her husband former President Clinton who is admired by many, she has the people in highest offices backing her, and she apparently (according to tax returns) has millions of dollars in the bank. So the question is being that you come from a Dynasty, why haven't you already won Hillary? If you can't even beat a "rookie" Senator from Illinois, then how can you match the "maverick" Mccain?

He's reaising more money, is winning the popular vote, winning in the delegate count, closing in on the super delegate count (I expect he'll be winning that by the end of the week) ahead in the nationwide polls, cut down the huge lead in PA, what more does she want. The deals closed, she just doesnt' want to accept it.

The only reason Obama has not closed the deal is because Clinton has put her interests above those of her party, and worse yet her country.

She has virtually no chance to win this nomination yet she continues to try to drag down her opponent, all the while helping the person who should be their common opponent.

Regardless of what happens in PA (and she SHOULD win by huge numbers given the favorable demographics), she cannot catch Obama in pledged delegates under any circumstances.

Anyone with a shred of character would see the light and do what is best for the party, as well as the country.

Unfortunately for all of us, Clinton has not an iota of character.

Why is she LOSING THE DEAL? This was her state by 20 points and he's got her down to 5-10% in only 6 weeks....and that's not 6 weeks of being in the state constantly! She LOST her lead when ever he talked to people and as they got to know him. This state is supposed to be full of HER base....how is it now that she has lost support from some of her own base. It isn't because he is out spending her on commercial ads. People are smarter than to make a decision based on TV ads!
I think it is telling how she spins the fact that she has blown her lead with her base into how he can't close the deal. What else does she spin? Maybe she has her own definition of 'truth'. Kindof like her husband had his own definition of 'sex' and of 'is'.

I am so sick and tired of the Clinton Campaign moving the goal posts. Everyone knows that Senator Obama was down at least by 20 points or more and yes he has outspent the Clinton Campaign. This is the reason that the difference is in the single digits.

I don't understand why Americans are so gullible and believe everything that the Clinton Campaign espouses. If Senator Obama had not outspent her, he probably would be down by 30 points.

I wish that Pennsylvania give the Clintons' a kick in the pants and Senator Obama wins. I would love to see her squirm and say, he was expected to win with all the new voters and then she would be on to Indiana and then North Carolina. She would find an excuse to stay in the race.

Obama 2008! Proudly supported him financially and will gladly give more!

If Senator Clinton gets the Democratic nomination, I will be staying home come November...as will quite a few people that I know. I can't vote for McCain because of his position on Iraq and this sense that he's too out-of-touch with today's world, and I won't vote for Hillary because of how badly she and her campaign have bloodied the waters during this cycle. I'm tired of choosing the "lesser of two evils" so I'm going to exercise my right to protest by NOT going to the voting booth. At least I'll be able to sleep at night...

Her point is so true. The funny thing is that Obama once again finds himself playing old politics and trying to BUY an election, the amount of money he is using to run smear campaigns and robo calling is amazing and it amounts to him trying to buy the election. He outspent Hillary in Texas and Ohio by the same amount and still not a win - that really says something - that people aren't sure about his ability to provide real, implementable solutions. Not all the money he spends goes into the PA economy folks let's be real.

Barack Obama has closed the deal and the majority of the country and the many who despise you can't understand why you can't seem to get that through your head. Mrs. Clinton, the USA is not a dynasty and we are sick of two families screwing up our country. We are sick of old politics and electing liars who say or do anything for their power trip. Because we fought for our freedom to separate ourselves from coronations and bowing down to egotistical, narcissistic myopic freaks who will put themselves before their country, the people and the party they supposedly represent.

Get off your elitist highchair. We don't owe you the whitehouse.

Hillary should be closing the deal not Obama. She was ahead in most states by a greater margin. She was also ahead in last years numbers.

Why media is constantly looking for Obama to close the deal. People in all states know Clinton's for the past 30 years or more. Not many knew about Obama out side of his home state.

If Clinton brand can not win then it should be discontinued.......

She needs a big win just to stay in the race. Her campaign is still on life support. She will still be benhind in States won, Pledge Delegates, Total Delegates, Popular Vote primary, National popular vote, and her campaign is in debt. This will be over for sure after NC.

I don't understand either, why Hillary's supporters can't see through her shenanigans. She's the spinmeister for sure.

What I am most concerned about is if people are genuinely switching parties to vote for the Democratic candidate they think will be easier to beat......Are they really doing that? And if they are, I think it's the most despicable, unAmerican thing I've ever heard of.

Hillary has been picked to win PA all along,Instead of conceding the state Obama has forced her to spend millions of dollars to keep the gap as wide as possible. Will she have the financial support to continue this into NC and ID?Looks like a poor investment to me.

Clinton keeps complaining about the amount of money being spent by the Obama campaign. To be fair I think the Clinton camp should factor in the amounts previously spent to establish their brand. In the introduction of a new product to the market it is normal to have to out spend similiar existing products to establish themselves in the market place. If she can not grasp this simple concept do we really want her analysis of important policies.

Grammy in OK, I am shocked at you pushing those terrorists scare tactics. FYI, South Chicago is bad and sad because of institutionalized jim crow which started in the 1940's with the building of projects. Obama isn't Moses, he cannot part the waters to bring that kind of miracle to South Chicago after decades of poverty, you need to get real.

Hmmm a Hit Dog will holla. She should have closed it on Super Tuesday and now having a 20% lead going into P.A. and that has been cut to single digits. Hmmm sounds like Obama has already closed that deal!!!

Spare the drama and your lies Hillary, how convenient to always change the story to suit yourself. The FACT that is Obama is significantly getting more funding that you, as well as significantly closing your once great lead in your own home state is proof alone he has what it takes to be president. Go control your husband he's running loose sabotaging your faltering camping!

I believe Obama CLOSED THE DEAL after 11 consecutive primary wins. And let's not forget he won Illinois. If everybody cites New York among her "wins," why does everyone forget Illinois went HUGELY for Obama. The margin in NY wasn't that big for Billary.

Do you think the money that he spends just vanishes in the wind? It goes to people who are working in Pennsylvania. He has injected millions into the state. The people who recieved the income will pay taxes on it and it will go into helping people. Wow! What a thought that money spent goes back into taxes.

True. So true. If someone outspends the other by 3:1 and still can't win, there must be a VERY good reason why.

Hillary should be the president. But, if for some reason she doesn't get the nomination, at least Obama will NEVER beat McCain.

"Clinton said if she is victorious, “a win is a win” regardless of the margin."

yep, and that's how it will be when Obama finishes with the most popular votes and most pledged delegates and never having trailed in this race. Hillary you may win Penn, but you are still in second place.

Gallup poll has Obama up 10 vs Clinton nationwide. He has closed the deal. It's very unlikely Clinton can win, but he can't stop them from running. The Clinton campaign can limp along, but pointing to its continuing and saying 'Why can't he close the deal' is misleading. Typical Clinton statement.

Well to tell you the truth......Obama is new to the world and alot of people have not taken the time to really look at this man......unlike the Clinton who have been around for some years......So Obama will always out spend Hillary because he has to work harder to get people to know who he is........Its not like this man has been known all over like the Clintons.....The funny thing is why is Hillary paying out so much money having the name she does....along with being well known because she was Bill wife........now you talking about something that dont make since....... (this dont)......and why are her supporter sending her money.........with a big name like hers she dont need the help.....So the question should be .......WHY IS HILLARY SPENDING SUCH LARGE AMOUNTS OF MONEY AND MONEY SHE CANT PAY BACK BECAUSE SHES ALREADY IN THE RED WITH OTHER STATES.......AND SHE NEEDS TO BE ASKING HERSELF.......WHY IS OBAMA CLOSING IN ON ME SO CLOSE AND i HAVE DONE AS MUCH AS I CAN TO TRY AND BRING THIS MAN DOWN....AND HES STILL ON MY BACK CLOSING IN ON ME.....HAHAHAHA.....HILLARY....GIRL FORM ONE SISTA TO ANOTHER ........GIVE IT UP........

Are you kidding me? The only reason he is having trouble in PA is because of Billary's REPUBLICAN scare tactics, mud slinging, and one sided debates. Oh, and let's not forget all of the republicans voting for her to give McCain the easy win.

It is clear that the Billary team released this statement to cover up the fact that they are financially IN THE RED and that the margin of victory REALLY DOES MATTER.

Statistically Billary needs to have AT LEAST a double digit win to have ANY chance of beating Obama, and yet somehow she is able to twist things up to make it sound like he is the one losing.

I can not believe the "elistist" comments by DR, right up Obama's sleeve! Ohio, and PA are the down to earth real and hard working Americans, that is why what they say matters. The question is really why can't he win the big states, that can not be overlooked. He will lose in the fall to McCain if he is the nominee.......

Why does Obama keep having to respond to the media about the reverend, other far flung affiliations and the ludicrous question about a lapel pin? Shouldn't the media press about real issues facxng us?
Or, why aren't you pressing HC about lying about Bosnia, her quite CLOSE affiliation with a person who was accused of perjury while president? When will the media stop supporting Hillary? Get out of the way with your ridiculous non-issues. We will decide the next President (in spite of these distractions) and Obama won't be playing ball with the media or lobbyists. Maybe we will rid ourselves of the Clinton politics that so reflect the "anything to win" no matter who gets hurt--even if its your own party . Ruthlessness and arrogance are not characteristics I want in president!
HC, go back to NY.

Hei D R, now you are insulting the people of Ohio and PA - thats exactly what Obama and his supporters do - INSULT those not in their camp. Shame shame on you DR.

Now what do you know of China? Have you been to China, have a Chinese friend or foe? And know what the Chinese can and cannot do - you do not know 2 bits about the Chinese, and the dependence of USA on the Chinese, and you want to talk about the Chinese - IGNORANCE! We Chines call a person like that "barbaric" = uncultured or descriped a person like that, a "lantern using cowhide" therefore cannot shed light.

DOWN OBAMA.

GO HILLARY GO '08

Hillary Clinton has all the name recognition and Obama without any name recognition, who came from a some town in Chicago has more votes both delegate and popular than you. one strike!! You have 35yrs of experience and a a jr senator with only 2-3 yrs of national experience has raised more money than you even the fact you take money from Lobbists. Thats another strike. You have all the big politican in PA and you are only leading Obama by single digit. Thats three counts against you. So your question about “why can't he close the deal” is irrelevant. A win by one vote is a win. The gap has been closed. He is ahead of you. So drop this petty-lossing-childish politics.

It will be funny to look back on Billary's increasingly desperate and incoherent comments once this thing is all over. Yeah, Barack outspent you because you wasted all of your money! You can't even run a campaign as the prohibitive favorite, let alone our country! And he IS closing on you in PA - a state where you were up by 20 a month ago! You can't make ANY headway in states that naturally favor him, so you try to write them off as irrelevant. Everyone who is not old, fat, and ignorant has rejected you and your candidacy (if they are only 2 out of 3, they go for Obama.) I can;t wait until I don't have to listen to you and your obnoxious lies anymore.

Grammy in Oklahoma April 22nd, 2008 1:44 pm ET

Yes, Senator Obama has certainly outspent the Clinton campaign by 4 or 5 times and still is behind in the latest poll. Could it be that voters are beginning to realize that MONEY CORRUPTS and that Senator Obama is a corrupt candidate. After all, the Hamas terrorist organization is hoping he will win.

We need a candidate who is 110% for the American people. We need a candidate who can bring back economic good times. We need Senator Hillary Clinton. Senator Obama did not bring his disrict in South Chicago economic good times. Take a virtual tour of the area—it is so very bad and sad.

To bad she couldn't bring her campaign to economic good times!!

Hillary is just plain greedy. She would rather make sure that Obama doesn't win so she can run in four years. My answer is still no to Hillary. yesterday, today and forever..

McCain will get my vote if she is given the nomination.
