Clinton is launching a new ad that includes images of Osama bin Laden

(CNN) — With only one day left until voters in Pennsylvania head to the polls, Hillary Clinton launched a television ad there that includes images from the attacks on Pearl Harbor, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and Osama Bin Laden.

"It’s the toughest job in the world," a narrator states in the 30-second spot. "You need to be ready for anything – especially now, with two wars, oil prices skyrocketing, and an economy in crisis.

"Harry Truman said it best – if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. Who do you think has what it takes?"

That comment appears to echo Clinton's recent criticisms of Obama for expressing disapproval of the ABC News debate last week during which the Illinois senator was asked several pointed questions.

“Being asked tough questions in a debate is nothing like the pressures you face inside the White House,” Clinton said Friday. “In fact, when the going gets tough, you just can’t walk away because we’re going to have some very tough decisions that we have to make. I think we need a president who can take whatever comes your way.”

Bill Clinton also weighed in last week, saying, "This is contact sport if you don't want to play keep your uniform off."

In a conference call with reporters, Clinton strategist Geoff Garin characterized the new spot as a positive one.

“Unlike Senator Obama's closing argument which has really been negative, and an assault on Senator Clinton…we wanted to bring this choice back to what's really important here, which is the critical issues facing our country and the need for a president who has the strength and the knowledge to take on the tough challenges facing our country," he said.

Obama's campaign responded to the ad by circulating an image of a 1992 Clinton-Gore campaign poster that states, "Vote your hopes, not your fears." The campaign also released a counter-ad later in the day that asks the questions, “Who has what it takes to really bring change?” and "Who in times of challenge will unite us - not use fear and calculation to divide us.”

didn't HIllary vote for us to go into the war that leaves us at risk?

There she goes again - voting one way and then pretending she is on our side. Must be the snipers…

Asians for Hillary   April 21st, 2008 3:08 pm ET

I support Hillary because:

1. She has far more experience than Obama in many aspects, which means she'll be more ready to lead the nation. You can tell from each debate she had with Obama who could only agree with her most of the time.

2. She is down to earth and smart in investing on economy. She has substance but Obama is flashy.

3. She is firm and perseverant. She stays focused and never gives up. This is what we exactly need in presidential leadership. Compared with her, Obama is a flip-flop. He sways and brush off his responsibility.

A vote for Obama means a wrong choice. A vote for Hillary is a smart choice.

Desiree   April 21st, 2008 3:08 pm ET

Hillary Clinton is the toughest person in the world.

Hillary is using George Bush's fear tactics. Since she voted for the war because of the fear George Bush instilled in her, she thinks that she can instill the same fear in us so we can vote for her. Not this time.

enzymatic   April 21st, 2008 3:07 pm ET

Yeah, Hillary.. swoop on down and dodge those bosnian bullets.
You are so tough! I want you in the kitchen… If not you, who's going to stay at home and bake the cookies. We need the cookies.

Leila   April 21st, 2008 3:07 pm ET

SNL had it right. If Obama needs to make a decision about terrorists or a threat to national security, he would have to call Hillary Clinton. He is not prepared to make that decision. He can not make one of his arrogant remarks and expect everyone to laugh and love him, like his followers do.
We need a leader, a decision maker and someone who can face a difficult situation and handle it. Obama can't even handle a couple of tough questions in a debate. How could he handle a crisis?

This is not a fear ad-it's true! And when the next attack happens on US soil this fall, staged by Bush to allow martial law and SUSPEND the 2008 Pres election, she will be found to have been correct.

>_   April 21st, 2008 3:04 pm ET

Bah… this is the same dung heap that Bush pushed at us back in 2004. "Terrorists are coming! Be afraid! Be VERY AFRAID!!!!!" Haven't we had enough of these people? Hillary wants to be president so badly she's willing to drag this whole process through the mud if she has to. Go home Hillary! Nobody wants you here!

Hillary got her experience where??? As first lady? At law school? In the court room? Seriously, get real.

Greg   April 21st, 2008 3:01 pm ET

But if the call comes in late at night and Hillary is tired she might forget what she said, or what she saw. She might think they are shooting at her and push "The Button". Ask Bill!

Is it too much for you to pay your bills and not rely on "us" to fund your campaign, you make more than most of us. Stop the begging and pay your own bills…

Pearl Harbor is for the Hawaiians and those that fought to talk about not you. Obama was born and raised Hawaiian…Too many lies-first dodging bullets, second using a pregnant lady to advance your political agenda-shame on you..I am pregnant and insulted by you tossing lies to feed the public…We know better!!!

Nas from PA   April 21st, 2008 2:54 pm ET

Boy-this looks similar to the eve of the general election when Bush had Bin-Laden video and a possible attack all over tv. Fear can't replace change. Where is she getting the money to even run this fear laced ad. Isn't she BROKE? She should go already, this is too much.

Banzai!   April 21st, 2008 2:54 pm ET

Pearl Harbor piece is appropriate for a campaign that's turned into a kamikaze. Flat broke, flailing in the breeze, only negatives. Sure the "Archie Bunkers" will probably vote for her, but is this what the country really needs.

No wonder McCain is going to stay with the Federal matching funds for the general election. The Democrats have given him so much ammunition and made him look Presidential that he doesn't need much more money, it's been handed to him on a plate.

To Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi, Al Gore, Donna Brazile et al. Get this thing over with before the Democratic Party is a gone goose.

anne oconnor   April 21st, 2008 2:54 pm ET

Yes Clinton has what it takes, I watch Obama every time he is in a debate, or talking to people all over and you can tell he seems like a nice kind of guy,but nice guys don't make it in a hard hard cruel world you need a hard hard cruel kind of person who can get the job done, and this is HILLARY, ROUGH TOUCH AND CRUEL AND WILL BE TOUGH ON THE OTHER COUNTRIES…….CRUEL AND TOUGH. Obama should go back to Illinois and help talk to the people of Illinois, they listen to him and other countries may not listen to him at all. They will just laugh at the US and wonder "who are we kidding"….. GO HILLARY

Janice   April 21st, 2008 2:54 pm ET

Hillary, I'll be sending more money your way today. Hold tight and fight on!

Kel from Bham, AL   April 21st, 2008 2:54 pm ET

This is the kind of divisive campaigning that's killing our party. If it weren't for Clinton, we would already be unified and moving forward. Now we're stuck in this deadlock because she refuses to bow out. Holy crap this is getting ridiculous. When will sh ewake up and smell the roses?

TigerKhan   April 21st, 2008 2:53 pm ET

I hate to admit it, but as a Republican, I love watching Democrats go for each other's throats. Although I would have preferred Fred Thompson or Mitt Romney to McCain as my candidate, I could never vote for either Obama or Hillary. Obama lost my vote with the Wright Scandal and his lame excuses, and Hillary…well she never had my vote. She was a terrible First Lady.

BettiH, Indianapolis, IN.   April 21st, 2008 2:53 pm ET

I'm voting for her because

1. She's better qualified than Obama
2. I don't want McCain to be the president
3. With the economy the way it is right now is no time to take a chance on a rookie

R…with her campaign broke and in debt, if she can't run that right, how are you expecting her to run the country?

Brandon,Gainsville,FL   April 21st, 2008 2:53 pm ET

Bill Clinton also weighed in last week, saying, "This is contact sport if you don't want to play keep your uniform off."

My thoughts exactly Bill. If your daughter doesn't feel competent to handle questions about your actions with Lewinsky, she shouldn't be going around campaigning and playing the game of politics.

If she doesn't want to get tackled, she shouldn't be playing football.

Fran Says   April 21st, 2008 2:41 pm ET

Our biggest fear should be Mc-Clinton! Neither of them will lead America in the direction we need to go!

At least McCain is telling us where he will take us.

Hillary doesn't know how to be honest. She has lied to us about Bosnia, NAFTA and her experience.

She may want to hold on to that kitchen sink! She'll be cooking up more of the same.

Mike Moore said it best today:

Well, that sounded good last year, but over the past two months, the actions and words of Hillary Clinton have gone from being merely disappointing to downright disgusting. I guess the debate last week was the final straw. I've watched Senator Clinton and her husband play this game of appealing to the worst side of white people, but last Wednesday, when she hurled the name "Farrakhan" out of nowhere, well that's when the silly season came to an early end for me. She said the "F" word to scare white people, pure and simple. Of course, Obama has no connection to Farrakhan. But, according to Senator Clinton, Obama's pastor does — AND the "church bulletin" once included a Los Angeles Times op-ed from some guy with Hamas! No, not the church bulletin!

This sleazy attempt to smear Obama was brilliantly explained the following night by Stephen Colbert. He pointed out that if Obama is supported by Ted Kennedy, who is Catholic, and the Catholic Church is led by a Pope who was in the Hitler Youth, that can mean only one thing: OBAMA LOVES HITLER!

Yes, Senator Clinton, that's how you sounded. Like you were nuts. Like you were a bigot stoking the fires of stupidity. How sad that I would ever have to write those words about you. You have devoted your life to good causes and good deeds. And now to throw it all away for an office you can't win unless you smear the black man so much that the superdelegates cry "Uncle (Tom)" and give it all to you.

Rual Castro   April 21st, 2008 2:41 pm ET

I love CNN…They are my kind of TV News Station. I give CNN 5 Cohibas….

David   April 21st, 2008 2:40 pm ET

Here we go again with Clinton throwing out the fear tactics to try to get votes. When she is down, all she knows is her reliance on her proven tactics….promoting fear! Her campaign is in debt but she continues spending money she doesn't have. Thats what she blasts Bush for doing. I guess a White House under her would just be more of the same. Spend what you don't have and increase the debt. This woman has no business being in politics and definitely doesn't need to be President.

HEIDI   April 21st, 2008 2:40 pm ET

As if she (Hillary) really knows where a kitchen is or what goes on in it. What about your 1992 comment about women who spend their time cooking and baking for their families.

"what am I suppose to be home baking cookies or something" Yup, those are the real precious moments you missed with Chelsea. Now you have her under attach because of you and Bill martial problems.

Give me a break

ShirleyY - Seattle   April 21st, 2008 2:38 pm ET

Hillary was a republican at the start and the only reason why she went democrate is when she married Bill. If you vote for Hillary you might as well vote for McCain. Catholic voters in PA dont be played, Hillary is playing on your emotions and chrisitan values. Hillary did not even know the last time she went to church. A lot of PA voters see Hillary for what she really is, but because you dont want a black man as President you rather vote for osama bin laden sister, which is Hillary.

bessie   April 21st, 2008 2:36 pm ET

She is the first New York Senator ever to serve on the Senate Armed Services Committee, working to see that America's military has the necessary resources to protect our national security. She is ready!

enomisa   April 21st, 2008 2:36 pm ET

Why did the democratic party in all its wisdom see fit to endorse Obama and swiftboat Hillary Clinton.

Hillary is the best presidential candidate in decades.

Obama is a fake and a fraud.

Yet, the democrats did to Hillary what the Republicans generally do to the democrats.

This is unforgiveable. I will never vote for Obama. NEVER.

Yola   April 21st, 2008 2:36 pm ET

Please forgive me for what I am about to say, but it is the truth…

After reading these and other blogs I can really see what the so-called experts mean when they say the educated people are supporting BO.

Listen, I don't care which candidate (Republican or Democrat) ends up in the WH but PLEASE, let education be at the top of the priority list. We are in trouble as a nation!

KiloWhiskey   April 21st, 2008 2:36 pm ET

GO Hillary - If Obama gets the nod, we vote for McCain in 08 and Hillary in 2012!

Bruce   April 21st, 2008 2:35 pm ET

There is a difference between tough questions and stupid irrelevent questions. If Sen. Clinton thinks that the stuff being thrown at them by Charlie Gibson and George Snuffalupagus were tough questions, then she is part of the problem. What was the real reason for war with Iraq? How do capital gains tax cuts benefit the economy? How do we deal with high gas prices, and are the oil companies complicit in the price increases, as they were in 1979? If most civilized countries can have some form of universal health coverage at a far lower cost, why can't we? How can we break the hold that certain coporations and industries have on our policy-making, if the candidates cannot divorce themselves from lobbyists in their midst? Those are some of the tough questions I want answers to..

Alexandria, OH   April 21st, 2008 2:35 pm ET

Maybe Hilary should have listened to Bill when she was complaining about being asked the first questions at debates. How quickly she forgets…

Carlos   April 21st, 2008 2:33 pm ET

Hope is nothing but an illusion of what could be, and that's all that Barack Obama is presenting. Hope? How does hope help the sick? How does hope help the poor?

It's really bothersome all of these illusionary words being thrown around.

We don't need to change Washington politics…..we need to change
policy.

This is why this country is spiralling out of control in many facets, because Americans can't educate themselves enough to truly understand the dynamics of how our country works and elect officials that can institute policies that work for everyone. Turn off the TV and read!

Diane   April 21st, 2008 2:32 pm ET

Come on Shawna - First you say Clinton can't win because of the math, then you suggest that she might win (in case she loses). Which is it?? She can of course win when the Super Delegates realize that Obama can not win the general election against John McCain.

Enough already Hillary. I have lost every single tiny spec of respect that I have ever had for you and quite a bit that I had for Bill. You want me to believe that you are the best choice for our country when you lie and cheat?? You want me to support you when you have proven time and time again that you will say and/or do anything to get elected? You want me to trust you to guide this country out of crisis when you can't even keep your campaign out of debt ? I don't think so Hillary - neither I or the American people are that stupid. It is very sad what you have done to yourself and husband during this process - your political career is over after this primary.

Bdiddy   April 21st, 2008 2:30 pm ET

Isn't this the same ad George Bush ran to win the 2004 election??? Hillary is really reaching low levels. But I'm not surprised. Her campaign is a joke. It's been horribly run from beginning to end. She's losing to a freshman African American Senator who 6 months ago 75% of the nation didn't know who he was , or even how to pronounce his name.

She's been out campaigned, out fund raised and claerly out matched. even if she by miracle won the nomination, she's already lost.

Dannyboy   April 21st, 2008 2:29 pm ET

This is hilarious, and only shows the lengths to which she will go and the things she will say to get elected. By the way, Bill needs to pipe down making any references to keeping one's clothes on, and considering the fact he never wore a uniform, this should qualify that suggestion.

As far as Hillary, if you drew any conclusions to the similarities of the Manchurian Candidate, you are to be commended.

the_future_ocm   April 21st, 2008 2:29 pm ET

Dahhkness   April 21st, 2008 2:29 pm ET

This entire democratic process has been like a giant game, not only for Hillary but for the media as well. It's like playing six degrees of bacon. Obama supports reverend wright who supports farrakhan, therefore, Obama is a racist bigot black man, when in fact he is a man who stands for hope, who stands for a well needed change in this country, and I think he has the possibility to change this world for the better. So the next time someone attacks Obama on one of these petty issues that no one wants to talk about, think about the reasons you vote.

Gaby   April 21st, 2008 2:29 pm ET

Hillary resorting to her last ditch efforts to instill fear to " her" only supporters. She is the one that this country would have to worry about because she can not be trusted, she will say or do anything to get a vote, and this is proof with the Bin Laden ads.

Diane   April 21st, 2008 2:28 pm ET

Just listen to yourself An Agnostic Democrat - Your whole statment is pathetic and any damage done to the Democratic Party goes both ways. HRC is pathetic. Obama can and will be dem. nominee. HRC & McCain both fear BO winning, because they know that there time of control is over. The only thing to fear is HRC,McCain & another 4 years of Bush. America is tired of being emotionally abused with fear tactics. Clinton, i have a real solution for you to add to your campaign. "pay all of your debt to the hardworking american citizens that you are stiffing" now thats a real solution. I'm sure if they were sitting on 109 million, they could afford to wait a little longer. In fact why not pay them out of your own money, after all if you really believe in yourself, put your money where your mouth is.

Zoinks   April 21st, 2008 2:26 pm ET

Is that a recycled Bush ad? Looks like they picked that one up used at the KRove Flee Market. No surprise since the Clinton campaign is on a budget.

Again, what exactly should we fear Hillary? Surely not OBL, he's hiding out minding his business.
You, on the other hand, seem to revel in the old Republican 'fear' tactics that gave Bush his second term-and we see what happened with that!!!
When is America going to wake up & realize that is how they brain-washed you into re-electing him in 2004? Playing on your FEARS!!!

The only thing Americans should really fear is themselves! The complete inability of this nation to face itself in the mirror, and see the same immorality and greed that we accuse other nations of having-is disgusting. You value a flag lapel pin, more than you value helping the homeless or improving schools in downtrodden areas of this country.
Go OBAMA/RICHARDSON 2008, 2012!

shawna   April 21st, 2008 2:24 pm ET

Sharon in Minnesota, do the math. What space ship did you just arrive on? Lets face facts. Obama is the winner lets all support him.Same way we should all have supported Clinton if she had won. Right now, it is no longer a contest, no matter what happens in PA, the math is against her. Lets move on and begin the fight against McCain. This election is not about Hillary or Obama, it is about the future of all of us. If Clinton loses, she will be Ok as she said, so will Obama. BUT, If we democrats lose in November, we as Americans are doomed. Iraq, economy, health care…….PA do the right thing strategically and vote her out so the fight for the general can begin. Since a Clinton win in PA does nothing but delay the inevitable.

To the superdelegates:

You need to put a stop to this before the two candidates give McSame too much to fight them on in the general election. The McSame campaign is sitting back taking notes from the candidates negatives to use against them.

Don't let this party get too far gone where we let McSame win in November. We got to put a stop to this-we need to heal and come together before August!

Kill_terrorist   April 21st, 2008 2:23 pm ET

She is right. It takes a village to stand and win the two wars.

jlu2thdr   April 21st, 2008 2:23 pm ET

Since neither candidate has ever been Chief executive, the best way to judge their abilities is watching them run for office and "lead" their teams in this race.
Obama has (despite being a rookie) nearly revolutionized the use of the internet as a source of donations and of branching into so many variable factions.
He has held steady doing his best to stay above the gutter (no ones perfect ).
He has not lost his patience, temper or temperment.
Hillary is bankrupt, apparantly suffering from sleep deprivation as she "mispeaks" changes her pesonality a number of times to get more votes, states no truths about her support of NAFTA for example and on and on.
She has run a POOR campaign, alienated people like me who once supported her and demonstrated a "win at all cost" attitude.
If this is how she will run her administration…..no thanks!

VOTER50   April 21st, 2008 2:23 pm ET

How deplorable, this woman is some piece of work. This just like a Republican tactic to put fear into people before the election. Apparently, PA has fallen for it, how gullable they are. I hope the Super Delegates are taking this all in and pull the rug right from under her. This is sick and devisive. She is more of a Republican than she let's on and I would think that is where she is headed if she doesn't get this nomination. Who knows she may have already approached McCain about being his running mate. America you need to Wake Up before it is too late. This woman is making sure that if she doesn't get the nomination, Obama certainly won't get it. Time and time again, she has sided with McCain on a few topics, just to put Obama in his place.

I would rather take my chances with Hillary Clinton then to trust the White House to some self - righteous, holier than thou person that we are only starting to get a glimpse of, and what we have been introduced to is not someone that I want to be running my country. Tell me one thing that inspires hope and change, absolutley nothing, he is running on words and people are clinging to the wrong kind of hope in Obama

Hillary PULL THE AD OUT QUICKLY!!!

It reminds voters that you voted NOT to make Bin Laden your #1 priority. Instead you sided with Bush to go into an unwarranted war. BAD DECISION HILLARY!

Who knows what you would have done if you were in the middle of Pearl Harbor or the Cuban Missile Crisis. Maybe you would have attacked China or Russia? YIKES!!!

Gave her credit, the 'fear' card worked for at the last minute in Texas and it will certainly sway some votes here. It is hard to imagine that she is saying that she has more experience when the experience she detailed has been more about ceremony than decision. Face it, with Billary, you are not dealing with the average political machine. This is politics to the second power. I applaud her for reinforcing the negative stereotypes that I already had of her. Billary's 'entitlement' to the White House lives another day.

Horrible ad, Hillary. I am deeply offended as an American by you that you would use fear tactics to scare up votes. How very Republican of you! Oh wait, you are a Republican! Stop trying to lie to us and scare us, it won't work! Show some true patriotism and drop out of the race now, so we can get Obama elected to the presidency. You can't run your own campaign, and you can't run this country. We won't get fooled again!

bizu   April 21st, 2008 2:17 pm ET

We already have a President who plays fear politics.

When Senator Clinton voted with President Bush to authorize the war in Iraq, she made a tragically bad decision that diverted our military from the terrorists who attacked us, and allowed Osama bin Laden to escape and regenerate his terrorist network. It's ironic that she would borrow the President's tactics in her own campaign and invoke bin Laden to score political points. We already have a President who plays the politics of fear, and we don't need another.

Fear no more!

Bin Obama   April 21st, 2008 2:16 pm ET

Bin Lade is small potatoes compared to the cult-like worship that the hateful, lying, deceitful Obama has brought to Americans.

Obama, like Bin Lade, promises great things… but encourages and fuels hate in his followers and supporters.

Read the pro-Obama blogs and see for yourself. Nothing but nastiness, name-calling, hatred, demeaning insults.

THAT is what this charismatic but false leader inspires in his devotees.

oh no, how sad   April 21st, 2008 2:15 pm ET

Hillary appears to be very educated but yet does not know the difference between toughness and evilness, tough questions and ridiculous questions.

If Hillary beleives that the ABC debate WAS A GOOD DEBATE and that the questions asked to Obama ( patriotic flag etc…) then she lacks is sense of priorities, judgement and should not be the next president.

These ads ARE A SHAME ! using fear to have people vote for you is a SHAME. PLAYING on the emotions of a population who lost mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, spouses, daughers, sons, nephews, nieces, cousins, friends….for more vote IS A SHAME !

Lord have mercy…

Is Hillary a closet republican! She consistantly uses the same tactics as (R).

I ask the people of PA and around the US, please do not let the same fear tactics George Bush used sway your vote did…we all know where that got us!

Hillary does not have a much better approval rating than he does, for the same reasons!!! This must be taken into consideration.

Carol   April 21st, 2008 2:14 pm ET

Fear tactics and distortion, straight out of Roves playbook. The debate on ABC was a joke. Fortyfive minutes before the candidates were asked questions about the real issues that are affecting our lives as average Americans.

If Hillary thinks that the questions about lapel pins and comments of his former pastory are more important than the war, healthcare crisis and unemployment, she is completely out of touch to the real life problems we Americans are facing.

An Agnostic Democrat   April 21st, 2008 2:14 pm ET

To all of Hil-lie-ary's supporters:

You are sounding more and more pathetic just like your morally and financially bankrupt candidate. Go put on your big people underwear and come out in the November election with some dignity, brains and an apology for helping to damage the party along with your candidate's Rovian tactics. Oh that's right, you are not Democrats, just Sillary supporters like Richard Mellon Scaife, Man-Baby Coulter and Rush Limbaugh. Good company you keep there, traitors!

2Nurselady   April 21st, 2008 2:13 pm ET

It is the truth. "Being asked tough questions in a debate is nothing" compared to the tough questions and situations the President of the United States must deal with. I was very put off by what appeared to be Barack Obama making faces during the last debate. I think the questions he was asked were pertinent and were ones many voters wanted answered. I do not think he handled it very well and I do not think there is room in the Presidency for a person who falls apart as I think Obama did under the pressure of being asked questions in a debate. We cannot afford to take chances with our country, our children, and our reputation in the world community at this fragile time in our country's history. We have been given the answer to our country's problems in Hillary Clinton. We should take the offer!

Simple question Clinton people…and I do ask that some one answer this question…why was it wrong for the Republicans to do this, but now it is alright for you to do it?

She’ll copy the swift boat ads before it’s all over. She really will! I honestly think Bill and Hillary Clinton are devoid any morality whatever. They are just two disgusting little people.

Don from Ontario Canada   April 21st, 2008 2:11 pm ET

Well Hillary you have done it again more fear-mongering. The most fear you can raise is from watching how you have failed to manage your own campaign to the tune of 10 million in debt as of today. Keep your head down Hillary the sniper bullets are flying again. Lets hope PA does the right thing tomorrow and ends it all by voting Obama.

David   April 21st, 2008 2:11 pm ET

Not too late   April 21st, 2008 2:10 pm ET

I am not worried about Bin Laden.

I am worried about the wolf in sheeps clothing that is brainwashing Americans.

Obama has a cult following that worships him without questioning.

He can do anything and get away with it.

He has manipulated the anger, bitterness, fears and disillusion of the people to his political advantage.

Charismatic people can do that. By the time the people see it, it is too late.

Don't let Obama destroy America. Vote for a true leader who does not make empty rhetorical promises of hope and unity and change and then DOES EXACTLY the OPPOSITE.

That has been the reality of the Obama movement.

mike   April 21st, 2008 2:10 pm ET

it dont matter what hillary say are do because there are so much haters out there but not one of them can tell me what hillary and bill have done to hurt this country and the american people. this election is about this country security , jobs, peace and prosperity. neither obama or jonh mcain has the knowledge and the know how to make that happen. Their is no question in my mind that Hilary clinton is the best qualify and has the most knowledge to restore america stature around the world. Me as a african american vote not base on race and what the media said I based it on knowledge on who can do the best job for our country. the american people need to vote on inteligence and not on media hype.

ladybmore   April 21st, 2008 2:09 pm ET

Boy! How HRC forgets things.

1. During debate last week she stated she would go to war with any Nato countries , thats attacks Isreal, but she is against the war in Irac
doesn't that tell us something. SHE VOTED FOR THE WAR in Irac.
now tell me who has better judgement.

Kimberly in Texas   April 21st, 2008 2:09 pm ET

Hillary, you will stoop to the lowest of lows. Apparently you have no shame!

MY   April 21st, 2008 2:09 pm ET

Sharon,
It has nothing to do with desperation. It is complete frustration. She continues to do anything they can think of to try to bring Obama down. When I tried the delegate thing today, she has to win by 16% in every remaining contest to overtake him. So his supporters have a substantial argument to question why she is still in the race. Unless you think she is going to trounce him in all of the remaining races which has yet to do in many contests she will ultimately lose. So to what point and purpose does she continue?

Travis-NC   April 21st, 2008 2:09 pm ET

Obama '08

Christina   April 21st, 2008 2:08 pm ET

So let me get this straight…

She gives you the truth - you say she's fear mongering.

Well, I guess with a bunch of losers, you just can't win.

Barb   April 21st, 2008 2:08 pm ET

Don't forget, Obama is too lazy to help his wife with the chores….Can you think of a bigger chore than running the Country!?!?

Let's be fair   April 21st, 2008 2:08 pm ET

Now let's look at her Judgement then you decided .

Hillary can't take care of Bill so he goes a cheats on her while in the Whitehouse . Okay bad enough . After being humilated in front of the whole country , see take him back .

Now she can't manage her campaighn money right . Bill was probably using it to pay for costly hotel rooms while Hillary was out of town .

Just joking . But truth be told . Hillary if you can't manage your own house and campaign . How in the world will you be able to handle this country .

bernie   April 21st, 2008 2:08 pm ET

take a scrip from obama and he is lost.you people make me sick with your remarks .some day you will have to answer to a higher being then you will have to tell the truth.

Theresa   April 21st, 2008 2:07 pm ET

If she doesn't win by double digits is it really a win? she's getting close? She was ahead by a landslide and now you feels she's getting close?

Is she getting close to paying her bills? Will she take care of ours as a nation? NO! She's a win at any cost candidate with scared white folks as her base. This ad is very indicitive of that. It was run so that she doesn't lose the voters she already had in the bag. She's pathetic!

And for all of you jokers who say he's buying the nomination… where do you think he's getting the money? I'll tell you where he's NOT getting it from. Not from his personal finances or lobbyists.

You all need to stick a fork in your candidate. She's done! Unfortunately we need to ride it out until the baby takes her ball and goes home. She'll fight for you? Pa-Leez! She'll fight for what she wants and feels she's entitled to.

Richard   April 21st, 2008 2:07 pm ET

Who will be more ready in these situations? Clinton or Obama? The person who answers Obama to that question must have been hit with a rock on the head.

Anna, SW Missouri   April 21st, 2008 2:07 pm ET

Didn't Hillary jump Obama for saying he would go into Pakastan to kill Osama if he had good evidence of where he is located, and she insisted that we couldn't do that?

Beware   April 21st, 2008 2:07 pm ET

Obama is just like the politicians that swept Italy and Germany during the 1930's.

They manipulated an electorate that was bitter, angry and disillusioned and created a cult following that rage through the land.

They youth fell for the inspirational message of hope and unity and never saw the real person beneath the charisma.

Bin Laden too has that effect.

Now we have Obama- with the same effect on the populace. And we can expect the same results.

RangerPrimeX   April 21st, 2008 2:07 pm ET

It is not fear folks. It is called reality. Obama supports keep deflected instead of facing things head on. This is the real world we live in not some fantasy land where because someone keeps using the word hope, all our problems, enemies and issues just will fade away. Hillary is not the sad one here, the treatment she gets from her party is. Here is a chance to elect an experienced person as the first female president who could actually effect change and instead every one goes for the one with the pretty rhetoric about hope but nothing to back it up nor has shown anything while in service as a Senator. It amazes me how Obama easily deflects criticism using race as Bush did using 9/11. Calling critics against him as people against change or 'old politics' thinking as Bush called his critics unpatriotic. How 'new politics' of him and his team. Seems very old school to me.

jimmy vekmen   April 21st, 2008 2:07 pm ET

HILLARY WILL HAVE GENERAL WESLESY CLARK AS SECRETARY

AND GENERAL CLARK WILL HELP DECIDE WHO GOES TO THE PENTAGON AS MILITARY STRATEGISTS AND PLANNERS AND NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISERS , INTELLIGENCE EXPERTS LOGISTICS EXPERTS, AND MOST OF ALL ROBERT RUBIN AS TREASURY SECRATARY AND TOP ECONOMIC ADVISER. A BIPTARTISAN FOREIGN POLICY AND NATIONAL SECURITY PANEL OF ADVISERS WOULD BE IDEAL.

Fear-mongering tactics, courtesy of Hillary Rovian Clinton.

Love the commercial….she says it like it is

The cult like following that is centered around Obama is scary. Wake up people before it is too late. Please keep in mind, the Presidency is the MOST important job in the country….Hillary's resume speaks for itself. Any top management would choose her over Obama based on that alone.

I am also sick and tired about hearing that she lied about Bosnia…she has apologized for that. What about Obama and Rev Wright, Obama sat in that church…and has yet to apologize for those actions…. It will be a LONG 4 years if the wrong person gets the nod.

Obama has always been right— Hillary's a fearmonger! And plays that to the hilt because playing dirty is the only way she can get ahead of Obama— and what does that say about her America?– she will lie to your face also when the hard questions come if she becomes President!!

CW4Barak   April 21st, 2008 2:02 pm ET

Typical Clinton style politics….we can't win the nomination with positivity and a good message, so we are going to resort to dirty tactics like making the other person look just as negative or worst than we do and playing on people's fears with ads and words, while trying to fool people into thinking that somehow that devisiveness will get anything accomplished in Washington where most other politicians can't stand the Clintons, and like paying off people (why do you think some prominent black people are supporting them….they are paying back debts to the Clintons). I am voting for Sen. Obama, because I want a new positive legacy into the White House….tired of the same old, same old. Pennsylvania PUHLEEZE vote for Obama so our party can start concentrating on John McCain and winning the election!

Robert, NYC   April 21st, 2008 2:02 pm ET

How low can she go? It's virtually impossible for her to win at this point…so why is all this fear mongering coming out of the Clinton camp?

Either she is delusional or she attempting to destroy the democratic party's chances in this year's general election with the 2012 election in mind.

I don't understand why is the democratic leadership letting her get away with it. It's getting harder and harder to watch.

Denis ex- Obama supporter   April 21st, 2008 2:01 pm ET

That is absolutely right Hillary. I am an ex-Obama supporter and I am glad that I changed my vote.

Obama would rather talk to terrorist that resist them. As McCain has said Hamas would love to have him as the next US President.

And that is believable when you look at his past support of Rev Wright (who supports Hamas and the PLO and all the racust things that he has expressed) and William Ayers (terrorist and founder of Weatherman Underground) who Obama has a friendship with (documented).

I am sick of hearing about Obama's un-patriotic past and to think that he is very close to the Presidency.. America be aware because this is very serious and we are all in danger.

Debbie   April 21st, 2008 2:01 pm ET

Wow. Now she's using images for scare tactics. This woman is desperate. Remember she lied and said Chelsea was out jogging
around the World Trade center when 9/11 happened. That she was under sniper fire in Bosnia. This woman will say and do anything to get a vote, including putting fear in people. I don't want her protecting me. Actions speak louder than words. Hillary has no white house experience, she can't manage her marriage or her campaign so what are you people basing her electibility on, her lying mouth?.

Nikole   April 21st, 2008 2:01 pm ET

Bill Clinton once said something about how if you have to choose between 2 candidates and one that operates on hope, the other that operates on fear, you should vote for the person bringing hope. Hillary Clinton knows better. Fear mongering is a Republican trait.

dave   April 21st, 2008 2:00 pm ET

How about $800,000.00 paid to the clintons for consulting on the Columbia trade agreement…Hilary ignored the tough question by laughing it off. So who is ready to answer the tough question. Hilary or Obama. Obama answered the questions during the ABC debate - facing the question head-on and moving on. To ignore a question is definitely not being tough on issues.

Apparently she can't handle her budget for her campaign…how is she going to handle running the economy if she were elected to office by all the old women in the US? She was the one complining about always being asked the first question and everyone was too soft on Obama…am I missing something here or is Hillary being two faced?

More fear mongering, its 3 AM and the phone rings. Americans are tired of being afraid, and these politics will not work. Hillary can not win. Do the math!!!!!

Neelam   April 21st, 2008 1:58 pm ET

Hillary's tactics just diverts me away from the politics.

He can't Win   April 21st, 2008 1:58 pm ET

This is the simple fact.
Obama is still fighting against poor Clinton.
He got much more money and support from media.
He still can't manage the easy game.
How can he beat McCain?
He said he wouldn't do negative campaign. Is it true?
He said he wouldn't use race card. Is it true?

Alot of words and doubts.

And I'm sure he can't beat McCain.

To the Clinton supporters. Why is Hillary using Karl Rove's tactics? Please Pennsylvania, she pulled this same stunt in Ohio. Don't let this shameless fear-mongering continue to work. Remember, "Land of the Free. Home of the Brave." Don't give in to fear. Remember JFK's words.

Talk about fear mongering!!! Hillary is definitely a Republican. No More Clinton dynasty and no MCain! Go Obama

SHRIMP BARNICLES   April 21st, 2008 1:57 pm ET

A vote for Hillary is a vote for the same old politics. The politics that promises you the moon and the nine planets in your backyard. When the promiser gets in there he is changed by the same old politics. We need someone who can declare independence from that system.

Clintons are hated by the republicans and having her in the White House will only exacerbate the bitterness between the two parties. They will never get anything meaningful done. She can forget about her universal healthcare plan unless she gets a majority congress and senate behind her.

Obama works very well across parties to bring people together. We don't need a fighter. We already have fighters in the Senate. We need a problem solver. Hillary is too polarizing to be president!!!

As a Republican and a John McCain supporter I truly feel bad for the Democratic Party. About 4 months ago they had two A+ candidates any of whom could have walked into the General Election the following day without spending a dime and beaten McCain handily. Now both campaigns have spent most of their resources beating up on each other instead of McCain and they are going to walk out of this thing with a “mediocre at best” candidate. This is not because Obama is a mediocre candidate it is because Hillary Clinton and the media have portrayed him this way. There is no saving your party at this point, Hillary has officially ruined your chances. Better luck in 2012.

I can't stand to hear her anymore. To the voters in the great state of Pennsylvania, put an end to this now. Vote for Obama and send her packing. She cried in New Hampshire, complained that the debates were unfair and that she got the first question all the time and now tries to make it seem like Obama can't take the heat. She didn't grow up a black man, there is some heat there…she didn't grow up with a single parent…there is some heat there. He has risen above it all and will be the president. She tries to bring everything to the gutter, I guess she learned that from her cheating and dishonest husband.

Lookout for the sniper fire!

Is Hillary promising a Cold War, an attack by a bona fide Military, and continued terrorism? I don't get that ad, but if she is planning on running the country like her campaign, then I guess McCain and Clinton will continue to drive us down Bush Avenue.

: )

This stupid question about Bosnia sniperists make me sick.
Many of you don"t even know where Bosnia is ,not to mention that you don"t know the fact how dengerous time was when Sen. Clinton visited trups in Bosnia 1996, where was your "Super Star" Obama ??? - becoming one of millionares or listening his Rev.Jeremiah.
I was there and know how danger was at the time so please stop talking of something you have no knowledge of.

Let's NOT FORGET Hillary Clinton had to make a tough decision and she made the wrong one! She along with Bush chose this very war we are STILL in, all against the advise of knowing advisers. She in fact chose not to be advised.
