(CNN) – Hillary Clinton stressed her gun and church-going credentials following Barack Obama's "bitter" comments, and it appears to have paid off.

According to the exit polls, 58 percent of gun owners voted for Clinton while 42 percent went for Obama.

Among Pennsylvania Democrats who attend church at least once a week, Clinton is beating Obama 59 percent to 41 percent.

Vote your faith not your interest.

No surprise here. After Obama botched what he meant to say and people hammered him for it. He was talking about SOCIAL issues in general, but they sure threw him under the bus for his honesty.

who could vote for such a conniving woman?

Susan   April 22nd, 2008 6:15 pm ET

I thought church goers didn't believe in liars and sinners? Why would they vote for Clinton?

Viet Nam Vet   April 22nd, 2008 6:15 pm ET

People if your favorite candidate does not win the nomination whatever
you feel about the other you must Vote democratic. It's not just about the presidency- -THERE ARE SUPREME COURT JUSTICES THAT ARE ABOUT TO TIP OVER- - - If McCain is president then he will certainly appoint young Repubs to replace them. We will then have
a totally Republican Supreme Court which will affect the American people for Generations. People (especially young people) it is yor duty to Vote Democratic.CNN POST THIS!

Is not one of the ten commandments: "Thou shatt not lie"

What an irony….church goers supporting that woman….

Figures….dumb sheep respond to fear based campaign tactics and vote HRC……

What is Hillary, a Republican?

Pam, NC   April 22nd, 2008 6:16 pm ET

Obama has the audacity to claim he is a change agent. What has he ever done to change anything? He hasn't been in the senate long enough to do anything and has done nothing to change the way Washington works. He is all talk and never takes hard positions that might come back to haunt him.

Hillary is more able to bring change to Washington. She knows how to work there and her policies are all for the good of the american people.

Hillary 08!!!

JonT   April 22nd, 2008 6:17 pm ET

I would like to hear all three of these candidates (Clinton, Obama, and McCain) answer two simple questions:

Would you demand the resignation of someone working for your administration who lied under oath to a criminal or civil court or Congress while holding a position in government?

Would you resign as President under those circumstances?

I'm tired of the acceptance of perjury by both the Democrats and Republicans as long as someone is on their side. It is time to expect more from our elected leaders.

Get with the program Darth. Your Idol's goose is cooked.

No Bama in the Whitehouse. not on my watch.

Just turned into MSNBC and so far he leading. Long night ahead. But PA voters, we need change. If you want experience, just take a look at what we've had for the last 8 yrs. Experience may be overrated. Change is what is needed. Change to bring us back our jobs that Clinton took away, change to bring back security which a Clinton did nothing abt, change to look ahead. Go OBama

R Autry   April 22nd, 2008 6:18 pm ET

Vote Barack period. The guy who doesn't lie and can run a successful campaign (without bankrupting it Hillary) has my vote. Pretty simple seeing our economy is in such a state. Leader who is bankrupt, or a leader who has proven to run a masterful campaign (economically, popular vote, integrity, etc………….)

BARACK OUR NEW PRESIDENT COME NOVEMBER!!

Sherri   April 22nd, 2008 6:18 pm ET

Isn't it something the way she pandered to the "small town" crowd and it worked. I'm from a small town and Clinton's garbage didn't fool me. She was insulting and disingenuous with her pretend game of "I'm just like you." She is not and she never will be.

She lies about Bosnia while small town kids are dieing in Iraq. She sat on the board of directors of Walmart, while Walmart destroyed the small town main street mom and pop stores. She can swig whiskey and guzzle beer…that really proves something in the eyes of who?

Are we really this easily manipulated by antics? Obama spoke the truth. No one wants to hear it.

Southern Yankee   April 22nd, 2008 6:18 pm ET

Ha! You' d need a gun to get her in the church.
Yeah she's a regular Jane Wayne.

Sheesh.

Obama Now!

Jaime Nava   April 22nd, 2008 6:19 pm ET

Obama is better off running as an Independent. With his ability to raise a billion dollars between now and November he can ensure his presidency and rid himself from the poisoned useless party with two messed up wings called dems and reps.

SooperDooper   April 22nd, 2008 6:19 pm ET

Bill: You should probably introduce a "new" poll item. Try this for a change and see what the results would be. I am really curious to see how the voting split was in people who BLOG. I am sure it would be 99% Obama and 1% Hillary. If you pick items like "going to church" etc, you will NOT find a big following for Omaba. Most of the voters for Obama are from the DKos and MoveOn community. So they pretty much drink their mountain dew and BLOG. So if you start polling on aspects other than 'Bloggin" you will see that Hillary will come out on the top. Not that I am saying Obama supporters have "NO LIFE", DO NOT have social skills and that they would prefer to BLOG instead of having a normal life or play EverQuest or DnD. I am just saying that these are THE SMART and EDUCATED people - THE FUTURE of this COUNTRY and they are very different from the BITTER people in PA who cling to their religion and guns and develop antipathy to immigrants and etc.. and etc…..

R Autry   April 22nd, 2008 6:19 pm ET

AWARE,

Are you "aware" that Hillary's campaign is once again bankrupt?? Is that who you want to change the course of the worse economic conditions in history??

GET AWARE AWARE AND VOTE BARACK OBAMA our next President!

MR   April 22nd, 2008 6:19 pm ET

Well the last president this demographic voted for was W. This is obviously not a block of voters with the wherewithall to make educated decisions about our country. This block of voters always votes against their economical interests. Should we be surprised that they vote for meaningless things like guns, gays, abortion…can we revoke their right to vote before this country rolls back in time to the prehistoric era of heathens?

Madison   April 22nd, 2008 6:19 pm ET

Lieing is a sin.
Why do the religious folks continue to vote for liars who use their faith against them?

outsider   April 22nd, 2008 6:20 pm ET

Bill, I beleive people are still voting. Are you trying to get a few more votes for Hillary? Why are you playing religion and guns now?

Be Real, RI   April 22nd, 2008 6:20 pm ET

Everyone is a sinner and comes short of the glory of God. Yes, Believers do vote for liars and sinners.

Jason M. Bryant   April 22nd, 2008 6:20 pm ET

We can't really say how much Clinton's comments paid off or how much Obama's comments hurt him. We don't know how many of those people would have voted Clinton if the gaffe had never happened. Was there a lot of overlap between those groups and the people who were expected to vote for Hillary all along?

Jane   April 22nd, 2008 6:20 pm ET

Hillary goes for the jugular with fear to get a vote. She has also outsourced tens of thousands of precious US jobs overseas for her own political gain to India, China, and Mexico and supports NAFTA. Oh wait, she also habitually lies or "misspeaks".

Again, tell us exactly why she is a positive candidate for president?

BARACK OBAMA FOR THE WIN AND THE NOMINATION! :-)

Matt Lyons, Chicago   April 22nd, 2008 6:20 pm ET

Yeah if you don't need to THINK about life, why oh why would you THINK about your vote.

Scott C   April 22nd, 2008 6:20 pm ET

If any gun owner sees a difference between the two democratic candidates on gun rights, they need to get their eyes checked. They both say they support firearm ownership, but both have voted for legislation that seriously interferes with your right to "keep" (meaning 'own') and "bear" (meaning 'to carry') arms. You should check their voting records, as action speaks louder than words.

Leo   April 22nd, 2008 6:20 pm ET

This is crazy. It appears that people are voting the Clinton brand. They should go into the corporate clothing business or something like Martha Stewart, geez. Give someone else a chance to be in the WhiteHouse. Give someone else the opportunity to try and make the country a better place. If she wins I will never vote again. And nor will many people that I know. Clinton needs to go away. Let this young man take the world by storm not just the country.

And again, proving the truthfulness of what Obama said………and also giving credence to the stupidity of the spin placed on it by Fox Noise/Faux News and their inept journalists. The fact that Senator Clinton would stoop to a new low and pander to this tells me more than what I need to know that she appears to be an opportunist, and for all of her "solutions", we will ultimately end up with more of the same….Washington powerbrokers and politics as usual, to continue to political dynasty of the Bush/Clinton era.

Sara from Arizona   April 22nd, 2008 6:22 pm ET

This is laughable. The Clintons have always been anti gun. Church goes voting for a pathelogical??? Ha, Ha, Ha.

PA, this lady doesn't even go to church more than twice a year… How dumb do you have to be not to see this lady for who she is……… !!!!!!!

Dirk Wigdoubt   April 22nd, 2008 6:23 pm ET

Church goers are obviously very gullible…so they would naturally fall for Clinton's line of baloney. They are also innately paranoid of muslims and so own guns to protect themselves more often than rational non-believers…

It makes me sad as I used to support the Clintons and admire their leadership within the party. What a sad, sad turn they've taken. Thank goodness for Obama…a new, fresh, clean vision.

Obama 2008!

Bob   April 22nd, 2008 6:24 pm ET

Doesn't matter who votes for Obama or Clinton. McCain is going to win in November regardless.

People are still in fear over their security due to 9/11 and they're not going to change the flow….which is what you'll get with McCain.

Bitter, Gun-Toting Christian   April 22nd, 2008 6:24 pm ET

I voted for Obama.

Sara from Arizona   April 22nd, 2008 6:25 pm ET

Here is what is going on. Some Republicans are voting for Hillary so Obama can't win, because McCain will have a harder time beating Obama. These same voters will then vote for McCain in November.

mike,Iowa   April 22nd, 2008 6:25 pm ET

Its so nice to see how manipulated voters can be over something as simple as twisted words…

Keisha Williams, GA   April 22nd, 2008 6:25 pm ET

Clinton's over-eagerness to use any opportunity to personally attack Obama may work on the gun-owning, church-going people of Pennsylvania but my only concern are the 'real' issues that are affecting the American people.

Krystyna from Chicago   April 22nd, 2008 6:25 pm ET

OH !!!! OBAMA supporters can't accept , what is going on in Pennsylvania.
Belive me I voted for the first time in my life, only becouse I don't want to see Obama to be the President d/t several facts, besides that he is realy not ready and not experienced, as well he is not that kind of person, who will do job well !!!! NO !!!!!
I voted for the first time and I chose HILLARY !!!!!
Women are more in to hard work and more determinated to reach the point, to make a plan real, not just to speak about it, but to do it !!!!
HILLARY is the right person for the very responsible position !!!!!
I wish Her GOOD LUCK and TO WIN THE NOMINATION !!!!!

noemi in los angeles   April 22nd, 2008 6:26 pm ET

Yes, thank you Billary for distorting Obama's "bitter" comments. It is no surprise gun-owning church goers are flocking to vote for you… people set up traps, others fall in to them. This is what you do Mrs Clinton, this is what you have been doing since the 90s… doing even the unthinkable to get what you want most in life… POWER. This is why you were willing to look past Lewinsky and Whitewater to get where you are today. I will not forget Whitewater or all the scandals that surrounded you while First Lady. For people who don't know, ask Clinton about the lawsuit against her… google Peter Paul/Clinton. Look at Hillary the Movie on you tube. God people, open your eyes!

JDG   April 22nd, 2008 6:28 pm ET

Remarkable. Here we have two individuals (the Clintons) who are nothing more than common criminals and pathological liers and the so-called church-goers vote for her…………just remarkable. I know the good lord excuses people for sinning…………..but my God, how many times does he have to excuse the Clintons for lying and cheating before the so-called good people realize they are being shamed.

Bayou Joe - you need to lay off the moonshine, its affecting your thinking!

Richard   April 22nd, 2008 6:28 pm ET

Seems like church goers and gun owners are sensible people then

Ross Lovely   April 22nd, 2008 6:29 pm ET

The sad thing about these exit polls is that Hillary, out of pure selfishness, ruined the best chance since Jimmy Carter the Democrats had of winning the religious vote. The evangelical community has broadened its voting interests this cycle, Barack was doing well among churchgoers (better than her in previous primaries, as I recall), and he is extremely articulate about issues of faith. Moreover, he is the most openly religious candidate still running. Instead of letting a stupid mis-speak (and a real mis-speak, unlike the Bosnia LIE she told) slide under the rug for the good of the Democratic Party, the country, and the world, she decided to hammer and hammer and hammer him about it. It's a shame.

ShannonL   April 22nd, 2008 6:29 pm ET

To be expected. Obama was exposed last week. If he wins in the nomination, he will be in trouble come November. We love elite people. We hate elitists.

Nazmul Ahsan   April 22nd, 2008 6:29 pm ET

Early in the race, even before the first primary, me and my wife discussed and I told her that Hillary seems unauthentic and artificial. It was proven by her flat lies, and lies on top of them to cover them up… there are some who will vote for her for no reason, but reasonable people should not vote for a lier to begin with.

Sue F   April 22nd, 2008 6:29 pm ET

Never ceseas to amaze me what people will believe, anyone who believes Billary is a duck huntin, beer drinkin good ol gal is in for a shock! The church goers are voting for her???? Let's see, she lies, her husband lies, then they stand in front of you and say, no it wasn't a lie, even if it's on tape! If she wins it's going to be the same old crap in this country, only a different year! She is one of the politically connected and believe me there are many many big money people who have banked her campaign that will all be standing with their hands out for paybacks. Can you say HALLIBURTON, remember GEORGE and CHENEY and all the graft, illegal corrupt garbage that's went on for eight years? Anyone who believe she's going to change things, I've got a really nice piece of beach front property for you in IDAHO.

Da! no suprise here Bill. There was nothing Obama could do or say about his comment about small towns that cling to gun bunch of racsist yahoos, all he could do is wait and be judge on what he thinks about these blue collar white folks. But I think it's sad about the AA voting 92%because he's part black, at 60-70% you could say it's proudness but at 92% I don't think that 's healthy demographics, but that's my oppinion but that's a subject nobody wants to talk about because of the implications of what it means. But it should be a concern to everyone.

Capt. Smash, Salt Lake City, Utah   April 22nd, 2008 6:33 pm ET

From: Huffington Post

National Review is reporting that some Pennsylvania exit polls show tonight could be an upset:

Hold on to your hats. I've gotten the usual word of the exit poll results from one of my usual reliable sources. He notes that Obama traditionally over-performs in the earliest exit polls, and that he expects the numbers to change as the night wears on - perhaps a reversal.

But right now, the exits are saying Obama 52 percent, Clinton 47 percent.

Take these results with the usual grains of salt and skepticism. I'm told that Obama is carrying blue collar workers two to one, and he's winning Philadelphia in the neighborhood of three to one.

Marlina   April 22nd, 2008 6:34 pm ET

At the 11th hour, Clinton cracked out lies thinking no one has time to do anything about it. Clinton is too dishonest, crooked and dangerous. A smart CROOk is doubly dangerous than a dumb one. She is too smart that spells DANGER! Vote Obama, all voters.

Martin   April 22nd, 2008 6:34 pm ET

Hillary has mangled the logic and the discourse in this campaign. She has used the same tactics that Grover Norquist and Karl Rove used to get Bush elected, and if it works, than this is a very sad day for our democracy. Her ad about Obama taking lobbyist money is so disingenuous that it boggles the mind. Obama may have gotten money from lobbyists, but it was from individual donors, not PACs or special interests. The misdirection of an ad like that seems to come from a place that says "it doesn't matter what the democratic base thinks, because they'll vote for me anyway come November." Shame on you Hillary. Your Husband apologized to Jeremiah Wright for his lies about Lewinsky. It seems to me that you should apologize to him as well for all of your petty fibbing and libel.

John Smith   April 22nd, 2008 6:34 pm ET

What is so sad, as people vote, is that they forget that other nations are watching us.

We are eager to return to the White House, a family that
1. has lied to the U.S. (and the world) over and over again
2. has been impeached for breaking the laws of this nation
3. has sold our jobs overseas and are now reaping the benefits (think of the $109 million from the gains from the past)
4. works only for their own "name and reputation," not the American people.
6. has a woman who is hated by well over 50% of our people.

No one really believes that with the above record, any Clinton can restore the name, economy, and good-will of this nation back to the 1990's. Not even Bill can replicate the past economic foundations.

It is okay to "hope" but with such a history what hope is actually out there that any of the Clintons can get anything done in Washington again! They have burned their bridges, while we remain fools wanting to get them back there to help their egos! Both Clintons were Presidents of the United States; very scary!

Lou   April 22nd, 2008 6:35 pm ET

People must understand that Penn means nothing really. Even if she wins by 20 points! When Obama destroys her in North Carolina and Indiana people will forget about Penn's Woods.

Carrie Pa   April 22nd, 2008 6:35 pm ET

Church goers voting for Hillary, lol!

Walter L. Johnson   April 22nd, 2008 6:35 pm ET

If Clinton wins by a significant margin in Pennsylvania, it is going to leave the impression with the rest of the nation that Pennsylvania is still a declining Rust Belt state that would be ill advised to invest in beyond building nursing homes. Remember that Clinton has won far fewer states than Obama, and it is Obama who has increased the ranks of the Democratic Party.

It is throwing away a vote to vote for Clinton when she has no mathematical chance of winning the nomination in the summer. One Washington Obama supporter said she is only behind by a couple of delegates per state, but that is not only an understatement, since she is short 144 delegates, but it is a gross misrepresentation since only a few states remain to vote. Obama has already won over half the states and a majority of voters. Neither will likely be changed by the remaining proportional allocation of future delegates.

sue   April 22nd, 2008 6:35 pm ET

Pennsylvanians! Vote for Hillary! Our country needs a fighter, not a speech giver. Hillary has the solutions to help fix our economy, and our country. She is our commander in chief!

Glenn; Delta, PA.   April 22nd, 2008 6:37 pm ET

Exit polling can be skewed by looking for people who appear to fit your candidates demographic strength. For Sen. Obama, obviously the pollsters were looking to Clinton's demographic strength, and the effect isn't as extreme as was anticipated. It'll go like this all night to keep the ratings up. I always wait for the actual results, no surprises that way.

Lily   April 22nd, 2008 6:37 pm ET

Have you ever noticed how mean Obama supporters are? Just listen to them. I think that's a reflection of their candidate.

I am sick of people who think religion is all the matters. We need to vote on what's best for the country. We need a president who is smart, and tough, and who can read and speak English …. unlike Bush.

You need religion in your life great, so do I. But, I do that in private or at my church. Remember separation of church and state. Keep pushing religion and we're the Taliban.

Shirley, Silicon Valley, CA   April 22nd, 2008 6:38 pm ET

The Clintons are proven liars! Hillary is not electable!

I totally disagree with Barack H. Obama, as immigrants I remember my parents always took us to church because of our religion and my father happened to own a 22 caliber rifle just because he like it and he took us shooting at times. We or He was making a decent living with 5 kids in our family but he and us were happy.
It didn't have nothing to do with being bitter at all, church was # 1 for my family every Sunday. We thank GOD for the good and the tough times.
At 10 years old I just don't remember about being bitter at all we just love going to church.
Maybe Obama is a bitter person and he might think that if he is bitter everyone must be bitter.

Apollyon   April 22nd, 2008 6:39 pm ET

The question is… are we going to have a two non-alternative candidates for the Presidential election? Hillary is now running to the right of McBush on foreign policy? This white-middle age-construction worker has had it with the Clinton's. I will work tirelessly to get her defeated in the general if she gets the nomination. AND I will move to New York if she ends up running for the Senate again, just to remind everyone what a racist, (Bill), Lying, (Hill & Bill), Backstabbing, (remember what she did to Kerry?), fear/war mongering, (Hillary last week & her new ad), Self-serving, (again Hill & Bill), traitors to their Party that THEY really are. I wouldn't p**s on them if they were on fire at this point.

Andrew   April 22nd, 2008 6:39 pm ET

Krystyna, heres how this breaks down. Your comment only makes sense in a few lights. Are you young? This would explain finding this primary to be the most important election in your adulthood. But then your comment has next to no weight so I could see leaving that detail out. Are you stupid? Because honestly, either Obama or Clinton will run the country well. But to look past the race Reagan won, either Bush's, Nixon, Kennedy, I mean, lets not be retarded, this race isn't nearly at the level of those races. The only other option i see is that you're really excited by the prospect of a female president, but otherwise you've not had reason to care about politics. Also fine, but, again, your comment doesnt carry much weight if you're just excited because we could have the first dickless president.

And why is it that women in all scenarios love to do hard work but Obama is "the kind of person who couldn't do the job well"? I mean I'm not trying to race-bait here but who are you, Ferraro Jr.?

And, last little pill of truth, these exit polls are used to look at demographics, they dont have the confidence interval to approximate votes. And they're solely early morning voters which is disproportionately related to end-of-night voter pool makeup. If CNN was at all reputable on the ticker they would have explained this, but, hey, at least they're better than Fox News. I guess.

Samurai#1   April 22nd, 2008 6:39 pm ET

You guys just flip flop that doesn't make sense.
I'm not for Obama! But why do you vote for Hilary because you were hurt what Obama said about church goers?
Then why do you vote for Hilary?
If you go to whatever the churches you go, doesn't God teach the principle
of the moral? like a marriage is between man and woman? Or God sends the spirit and we, women have babies?

They why do you vote for Hillary who believes in abortion issue?
You guys make any sense what you are talking about here.

Just remember to study and get educated what they are for or pro?
So that you know only Republicans has the right to lead to bring America to the right track with a big Change!!

Do you want to pay more taxes like Hillary said or do you want to kill more innocent babies?

Vote for McCain to be protected our rights or you have more problems.
Remember? Democrat party is the one that congress can change the issues. Yes, because of you, we can change!! Did you forget it?

Vote, vote for McCain! Wake up and study more !!

Pragmatic Guy   April 22nd, 2008 6:39 pm ET

Hillary has no respect for Obama truly. She'd rather see Mc Cain as president if it isnt her!

Go Obama 08!!!!!!!!

liz   April 22nd, 2008 6:39 pm ET

i'm for hillary all the way if it's not hillary then you won't see me on election day GO HILLARY ALL THE WAY

Jane   April 22nd, 2008 6:40 pm ET

Director Michael Moore recently came out and stated that he supports Barack Obama over the "disgusting" Hillary! Another "former friend" of the Clintons abandoning them because of their behavior! That should tell you something!

AZM   April 22nd, 2008 6:40 pm ET

I hope Obama isn't bitter about this?

It is the duty of every American   April 22nd, 2008 6:40 pm ET

TO VOTE THE WAY THEY WANT TO

PERIOD

Penn State   April 22nd, 2008 6:41 pm ET

You Obama supporters are getting on our nerves. In the beginning you were trying to court us to vote for Obama, but now that we are going for Clinton, you want to bash us. The same thing will happen in Indiana.

Marjon   April 22nd, 2008 6:41 pm ET

OBAMA '08 & '12 :)

lm, Annapolis, MD   April 22nd, 2008 6:41 pm ET

Look , I prefer Clinton, but if she can't win I will work like hell to keep
McBush from winning in November. Because, if we Democrats don't get our act together, and stand by whoever the nominee is … then once again, we'll deserve what we get.

maria dimitrova   April 22nd, 2008 6:41 pm ET

which church does Hilary attend?

Landuber   April 22nd, 2008 6:42 pm ET

Barak was right then, the do cling to guns. Surprise!!!!

Eric-Illinois   April 22nd, 2008 6:42 pm ET

Church goers voting for a Democrat???? I guess Hillary is the stronger candidate. But no we Democrats will want to put forth one more super Liberal who is perceived as not patriotic, snide and out of touch with the mainstream…..Will we never learn?

aware   April 22nd, 2008 6:42 pm ET

NOBAMA!

Hillary 2008 and 2012! :)

Vladimir Melamed   April 22nd, 2008 6:43 pm ET

It takes so little to change a profound political loyalty to a candidate: a remark on what in fact was true can effect the pivotal results. Then this Obama's remark is ultimately true.

Newman   April 22nd, 2008 6:43 pm ET

Are there that many gun-toting weekly church-goers in Pitt and Philly? I don't think so. In Sticksville, PA yes, but not in Pitt and Philly. You watch, Obama will take Pennsylvania tonight, because he got the majority vote among these two cities, which add up to a majority of Pennsylvania's registered voters. They are also university cities, and young people will come out in droves to vote for Obama!

American Veteran   April 22nd, 2008 6:43 pm ET

As a Christain and a member of the United States Armed Forces,
I feel Clinton last minute run the negative fear campaign Ads is just not right.

She needs to run from Sniper fire somewhere…..

Diane   April 22nd, 2008 6:44 pm ET

Bill: When you give the results of these exit polls, can you also include the number of people that were polled? 50% of what? 60% of what? It doesn't mean much if the number of people polled is under 100.
Thank you.

texas guy   April 22nd, 2008 6:45 pm ET

yeah right, they'll vote for a liar and call themselves church goers!

Del   April 22nd, 2008 6:45 pm ET

Can some one help me understand why CATHOLICS keep standing behind Hillary Clinton? I wonder if the Pope who recently visited the Nation will have stood behind her without her confessing her sins of LIES. I really want to know why Catholics should be after Clinton. I am a catholic, maybe there is something i am missing out. Please help me!!

Femi in minneapolis   April 22nd, 2008 6:45 pm ET

Dan, give me a freaking break. Did PA governor not utter the same racial jargon? all these while the AA have voted overwhelmingly for White democrats. Even when those Democrats failed them. At the start of this elections, blacks were heavyly for the Clintons. When the media and Hillary began to paint him as a dubious person, offcourse blacks will come to his rescue! why are you not asking the older white women why they are overwhelmingly voting for Hillary?

IK   April 22nd, 2008 6:45 pm ET

If Hillary wins this nomination……then the democratic party is giving Mc Cain the presidency on a gold platter…………The republican party know Obama will be a hard nut to crack…………….

shocked   April 22nd, 2008 6:46 pm ET

I can't believe what I am reading. Some of the presumably uneducated feel that their opinions matter. Learn how to spell, and how to use grammar properly folks, then I will do my best to read your statements. If you can't make sense, you are just making your candidate look bad.

I prefer ANYONE to the 'Republican't' loser that is in the White House now. Clinton or Obama - either would be an improvement.

Deb, IN   April 22nd, 2008 6:46 pm ET

Well I guess voters in PA were offened(as they should be) by the pistol packin, bible totin, bigots comments by Obama. I really loved it when he tried to spin the statement……….well I didn't chose my words correctly……………….DUH!!!! Basically he would have said it differently had he known he was being tapped.

I love the line from Sweet Home Alabama………."HONEY, JUST BECAUSE WE TALK SLOW DOESN'T MEAN WE'RE STUPID"!!!!!!!!!!

Phantom6   April 22nd, 2008 6:48 pm ET

I would rather stay home from church and read my bible with friends and family rather than attend Obama's racist bigot church. What is wrong with you people.?Obama's a modern day medicine man selling snake oil.
Seems as if the Hillary haters would vote for the devil rather than switch parties.
What a bunch of idiots!!!

Mark   April 22nd, 2008 6:48 pm ET

Sue;

What are Hillaries solutions?

I'm waiting…………………..

Mary - PA   April 22nd, 2008 6:49 pm ET

Well I'm not a gun owner but I am an every Sunday church goer and I chose Obama. I'm also a white 45 year old female who graduated high school, no college. From all of your statistics I should be a Hillary supporter. Lucky for me I can think for myself and don't need all you pundits to tell me who I'm supposed to be for.

Richard   April 22nd, 2008 6:49 pm ET

Praise the lord. Jesus has given them great direction.

Corey S   April 22nd, 2008 6:49 pm ET

Jane, I don't know which planet you're from if you think an endorsement from Michael Moore is a good endorsement. If I am Obama, I would run away from him as far as I could.

Mike   April 22nd, 2008 6:49 pm ET

Really? If you say so. I am a white police officer, gun owner, and Christian Church going small town resident. And for me. OBAMA is the only hope to restore honesty and democracy to America in 08.

John Smith   April 22nd, 2008 6:50 pm ET

Some of us will say the Rosary for these lost Church goers!

Joe from Virginia   April 22nd, 2008 6:50 pm ET

If Hillary can not efficiently run her campaign’s finances, what makes people think that she will be ready on day 1 considering this economic mess we find ourselves in right now? No wonder we are all in this mess… look at how people are voting in PA. What people blog about here is irrelevant to rural Americans. We are reading and hearing from people (esp. blue collar voters) who don’t even own a computer and would rather go hunting or fishing than sitting on here to blog.

Diane   April 22nd, 2008 6:51 pm ET

Bill & Wolf: I just heard you explain who you polled, which is fine. But it still doesn't answer my original question.

Mark   April 22nd, 2008 6:52 pm ET

Man, I never knew people in PA were so STUPID!

For Obama   April 22nd, 2008 6:52 pm ET

I am a church goer and I am for OBAMA… I cannot believe so many church goers want to get behind a liar.. a proven liar over and over again liar. Really suprises me alot about what religions find as "ok" anymore.

carlos   April 22nd, 2008 6:53 pm ET

EVERYONE needs to realize that for the greatest nation in the world is requiered to have a person that has EXPERIENCE and is tough enough for the job. HILLARY IS THE ONE right now, we REALLY can't take our chances on Obama, he seems so helpless and naive and fragil when there is a debate, What can you expect when he has to face a bigger issue to help our country? Can the USA really afford to take a chance on the most challenging job in the world? Do people really see Obama as president? He is inspirational and has some kind of personality and he is good when talking to people, but being the President of the United States of America takes more than that, Hillary is probably not a very likable person and I would not have her as a friend but everyone should think if you like her for a friend or for a boss. AMERICA …Think for a minute…..

tom   April 22nd, 2008 6:53 pm ET

most of thouse church goers supported this illegal war. and are constantly ralling behind hate.

The honest one   April 22nd, 2008 6:54 pm ET

Hillary, just like Bill are the biggest liars, She's a conniving evil person

Vote Obama, We are tired of the Clintons, lies, sex and deceit

Go Obama, we are right behind you.

J   April 22nd, 2008 6:54 pm ET

Totally ridiculous. Clinton is not a Christian or a gun owner.
She drinks the devil's whiskey for sure but people are scared to have some new blood in the White house. We don't need another round of the mafia Clintons if you will.

divad   April 22nd, 2008 6:55 pm ET

Isn't one of the 10 commandments: "Thou Shalt Not Kill", and isn't that what guns are good for? It just seems odd to me that people to go to church and pray and then have such love for their guns. Somehow I don't think of guns when I think of God.
Can you imagine Jesus shooting a gun….that's just wrong!

LT for Obama   April 22nd, 2008 6:55 pm ET

It is amazing to me that so many people support a woman who lies, admits that she purposely lies, that her husband lies and that her daughter does not talk to the media.

Chelsea chose to campaign, she should be willing to talk to the media, but that's right, she gets emotional when asked about personal issues.

Bill says one thing on Monday and then says he did not say it on Tuesday.

Hillary admitted during the "debate" (not) that she purposely lied. She said that she knowingly said things that were not in keeping with what she knows to be true, i.e., I lied and am now using pretty words to explain it away.

NOT VERY CHRISTIAN LIKE TO ME.

Ladyleo   April 22nd, 2008 6:55 pm ET

These voters were already leaning towards Hillary, this just gave them an excuse. This comments was a personal opionion of Obamas and had nothing to do with our countrys issues.

maxine   April 22nd, 2008 6:56 pm ET

I find it humorous that church goes vote for Hillary, HMMM; husband was an adultrous, they both lie, cheat and steal from others. Must be why I don't go to church.

After further review,Texas   April 22nd, 2008 6:56 pm ET

People are the dummies if they still believe any poll.Polls are fixed,PERIOD.

Janice   April 22nd, 2008 6:57 pm ET

So the candidate who actually has attended church more regularly is losing with regular church goers to the one who just professes her faith when she feels like it?

Am beginning to think Reagan was right to call himself a Christian but not go to Church.

John Smith   April 22nd, 2008 6:59 pm ET

No Obama supporter is bashing a Hillary church goer voter. Most Obama voters are just "questioning" the moral standing or intergrity of any one (church goer or not) who supports– a lier, an impeched family that lied to this nation, an individual who is hated by over 50% of her own people, and a woman with so much baggage in life.

I guess Obama supporters just do not understand the "thinking" of such church goers. As a Catholic, I will never, never bother to look at a Clinton name on any ballot in this nation!! Morality trumps wealth– "Give to Ceaser what is Ceaser's, and to God what is God's."

Joe from Virginia   April 22nd, 2008 6:59 pm ET

The whole church goers voting for Hillary thing …is an irony in its ultimate! Hillary's politics is played from Karl Rove's play book. No wonder she isnt the right person to change Washington.

Rob   April 22nd, 2008 6:59 pm ET

This is all about the Babyboomers. They are so self-reverential they cannot bear admitting their time is past. Let a new generation take over and at least try to put all the horrors perpetrated by the current incompetent right. Let go, ladies. It's over!

Richard   April 22nd, 2008 7:00 pm ET

Clearly for those of us who stay informed by keeping up with the news. If a candidate for President really wanted True Change, they would push for each citizen to maximize their abilities and economical independence. Of course, most of Sen. Obama's backing comes from the least experienced with life, naive and/or gullible, and those who think they are above the rest by their mental aptitude (you are to be considered intelligent and bright if you are supporting his candidacy). They are living off of either parental support or loans, vote because their skin color matches his, or we have the so-called top educated who believe they have all the answers to tell others how to live. It only takes someone to work in the academia to see what a caste system it is, based on one's level of education. In other words, if you are not a PhD all other employees are lumped in together and separated from them either by way of benefits, opportunities, etc.

It would be interesting to see how he attempts to change the political process. Is he going to openly denounce all Congressmen, Supreme Court Justices, etc. who do not agree with him? Will they then have to endure what the ABC debate commentators have been exposed to the last few days? It is so ironic to see an individual who speaks of unity and prosperity for all Americans to have created such a divisive line amongst many. They are already bullying Sen. Clinton's supporters who refuse to support him as the presidential candidate as not being true Democrats. One can be a Democrat, and not believe in the individual who is selected by the party to be their candidate. That is called, "Freedom of Choice". Ooops, that might not be around for much longer. Get it done Hillary America has been waiting for a President like you……………..

willowood   April 22nd, 2008 7:00 pm ET

Having lived in Pennsylvania through high school, college, and my first professional position, I believe Senator Obama's remarks were right on target. Most of my relatives were devout Catholics-church going on Sundays, but hell on wheels, beer drinking, prejudice against just about anyone not like them and certainly bitter about their economic situation. No state is perfect as no candidate is perfect, but let's get serious about the choice we have here today. If the beer drinking, gun toting voters want Hillary. they can have her. I left that state with no hard feelings and no desire to return. Senator Obama will not win there today. He should count his blessings and move on.

Calvin Barlow   April 22nd, 2008 7:00 pm ET

After 911, people attended churches in numbers but six months later there was a decline in church attendance. Senator Obama may be quilty of not using the best words but it was the truth. When people are down, they depend upon thier faith and whatever is thier normal routine to make it.

joe   April 22nd, 2008 7:01 pm ET

Seems like people really like to bash Hillary. What has this guy Obama done for you?He uses one word that you all fall for (change).
It seems like the media and people let him slide on all issues.
To vote for someone for president that hasn't done much for this country
and surrounds himself very questionable people is beyond me.

Nanc, MN   April 22nd, 2008 7:02 pm ET

Hey Obama: You should have been nicer, and now you are screwed!

John   April 22nd, 2008 7:02 pm ET

Church goers choose Clinton? WOW….this is a disgrace to the religious faiths.
