"Shaky debate performance"....what an absolute joke, that so-called "debate" last tuesday was illegitimate and not a debate. George is an unashamed Clinton Guy and Charlie Gibson is a good morning america guy, neither one of them have any business moderating a debate between the two candidates! they hammer Obama with innuendo and media gotchas and then let Hillary respond and pile on more, and now that becomes a "shaky" performance?? Here's where Obama is better;
1.) organizing and running one of the best and most successful campaigns in modern history. They have raised more money, brought in more new voters (all stripes), won more votes and more states
2.) He does better against McCain in every poll ive seen.
3.) He is getting moderates and republicans to vote for him. I personally know 5 extremely conservative republicans who Love Obama and will donate up to $2300 and vote for him and despise Hillary!
4.) He has a better plan, more realistic and more timely. He wants transparency which Billary hates! He will withdraw intelligently from Iraq after bringing in a more international coalition.
5.) He doesnt need to tear opponents and others down to lift himself up. Hell, he even defends Hillary half the time when he should go after her and finish her off! He ran a high road, positive campaign for 8 months until he won Iowa and then Hillary started the "kitchen sink' strategy, spreading rumors that he is muslim (two hillary staffers where fired for taking part in this), saying he is only where he is becuase he is black (Ferraro - what were you smoking when you said this??), questioning his patriotism, repeating ad infinitum quotes from rev wright, and always at every juncture, no matter what accusing Obama of exactly what she is doing at all times, Karl Rove strategy 101!

This guy is such a fool. Does he think all he has to say is change and it will happen. Look at his Chicago neighborhood and district if you want to see the change he can make. BO is a loser and is a lying hypocrite who is unelectable in November. Vote smart, vote Clinton.

HRC should demonstrate some consideration, if she has any, for the democratic party and bow out now. Beginning Friday she is going to be invovled in a civil suit involving the worst instance of campaign finance fraud in the history of this country, a case where it will be demonstrated that she was one of the primary individuals to collude, conspire and orchestrate the fraud as well as to mispresent the fraud to the Fraud to the FEC. Not only will this instance of fraud in California be addressed, but her participation in other instances of fraud will come out during this trial.

And this time, the evidence is incontrovertable. This will be a Clinton debacle that, unlike in the 90s, they will NOT be able to get themselves out of. They've already been fined by the FEC. However, the civil case will be far worse, because unlike the FEC, this case is in Civil court and therefore, the government will be unable to cut a deal under the rug as a favor to her to cover her butt.

If she has any integrity, and this certain will test whether she has any, she will bow out now.

Here is what is going on. Some Republicans are voting for Obama so Hillary can't win, because McCain will have a harder time beating Clinton. These same voters will then vote for McCain in November.

so be smart and choose Hillary!!!

Clearly for those of us who stay informed by keeping up with the news. If a candidate for President really wanted True Change, they would push for each citizen to maximize their abilities and economical independence. Of course, most of Sen. Obama's backing comes from the least experienced with life, naive and/or gullible, and those who think they are above the rest by their mental aptitude (you are to be considered intelligent and bright if you are supporting his candidacy). They are living off of either parental support or loans, vote because their skin color matches his, or we have the so-called top educated who believe they have all the answers to tell others how to live. It only takes someone to work in the academia to see what a caste system it is, based on one's level of education. In other words, if you are not a PhD all other employees are lumped in together and separated from them either by way of benefits, opportunities, etc.

It would be interesting to see how he attempts to change the political process. Is he going to openly denounce all Congressmen, Supreme Court Justices, etc. who do not agree with him? Will they then have to endure what the ABC debate commentators have been exposed to the last few days? It is so ironic to see an individual who speaks of unity and prosperity for all Americans to have created such a divisive line amongst many. They are already bullying Sen. Clinton's supporters who refuse to support him as the presidential candidate as not being true Democrats. One can be a Democrat, and not believe in the individual who is selected by the party to be their candidate. That is called, "Freedom of Choice". Ooops, that might not be around for much longer. Get it done Hillary America has been waiting for a President like you.............................................

My personal Pennsylvania overview, FWIW:

Obama will gain security, stability, esp among new, strong voters and more pledged Super delegates. Hillary's (*extreme* Bosnia) lies, deceit, loss of focus, gunning for a co-arty nominee (not a rival!!) and her totally dismal, bad financial management and debts coincide with her husband's continual subtle reminders (of what hurts her most) will let her down; her own arrogance will add to that her downfall.

She FEIGNS warmth and TALKS a lot - for the moment, for the topic and for THE OCCASION. America: please beware.

A growing flower-in-our-face is Bill Clinton's realisation that he'll be No 2, whereas until now he's been No 1. I think he's purposely adding vinegar to pre-salted wounds. He don't wanna be no "second hand man".

There has been talk throughout this whole string of comments where one person supporting Hilary dogs another person that is supporting Obama. It truly horrid. This, my friends, is what's wrong with our country today, and part of what Obama is attempting to stop.

It's fine and dandy to have a difference of opinion. Hell, I'm sure my opinion differs greatly from every Clinton supporter out there. BUT, they are welcome to their opinions, as I am mine.

If most of us that are posting would spend less time taking punches at other people's opinions and more time understanding they WHY's of those opinions, maybe we'd all be in a better position to rally around the party in general. We need to take this back to the days of a governement "for the people, by the people" if we are ever to have hope again of a stimulating economy, a healthier America, an educated America. The days of back-stabbing politics should be over. What is it you want for our children? Their children? Do we teach them the nasty side of life early on just so that they can survive this world? Or do we bring back morals, sound judgement, and teach them to accept the differences of one another and learn to move forward in political oneness?

Underneath it all, both candidates are immensly qualified. Both are extremely intelligent, and both would bring about some sort of change in America. For my personal preference, Obama has my vote. He is the one who will give my yet unborn grandchildren a chance for a better tomorrow. BUT, if he does not get the nomination, and Hillary takes it, I will back this party like there is no tomorrow, and walk the streets for every vote possible.

Remember why we are democrats in the first place. Please. Quit tearing each other apart at the seams. Those of you who claim to be for Obama- you know, that is not his kind of politics. If you support him, believe in change. Not old school bad politics.

So... As to the "bandwagon" comment... You're saying "Be different. Think like I do." Just because people agree doesn't mean their not thinking for themselves.

150,000 new voters, just to start off the evening. I'd imagine mostly young people who don't need landlines, and thus cannot be reached by standard polling procedures, and they all see Obama's freshly optimistic outlook as a new political philosophy for a new century.

America, meet your new silent majority.

Let's hope that new voters aren't really that naive.

A statistic that I never hear reported in the media is that of the 2004 "swing" states (margin of 6% or less) that have voted as yet Clinton has won three of the four. PA would make four of five.

If we say that swing states are those with a margin of 7% or less Clinton won five of seven (including the big key states of Ohio, and NJ).

Moreover, of Obama's nine victories, by vote, seven were in states that seem impossible for a Democrat to win in November; with 2004 Republican margins of victories from 15-46%.

The number one priority should be to pub a Democrat in the White House.

CNN is so pro-Obama it makes me sick. Whenever I tune in it takes 1 minute to see that Obama is your boy. It's like watching an Obama political ad for however long I'm tuned in which used to be for hours but now has become a few seconds....SHAME ON YOU!!

I am really annoyed at how many people seem to insult the intellegence of the young voters who are voting for Obama.

I am a young voter (turning 24 the day after the Oregon primary) and I have like Barak Obama for President since 2004. I didn't like him because he was cool, or young or any of that. I like him because he was directly addressing the thing that has bugged me about politics forever. That is the lack of respect between parties. He has spoken honestly about getting people to work with each other, not against each other. About respecting each others opinions, not calling someone stupid for disagreeing with you.

I suppose these people who are insulting "young" voters still need to learn that lesson. How ironic that the next generation is already more mature.

It is time that someone steps up for the American people and not the high dollar supporters! We need someone who still believes in good ole fashion diplomacy as a way to peace, instead of unwarranted war! I believe that if we reintroduce good ole American values to the equation, instead of old Soviet style thinking, trying to force ourselves onto others instead of just showing others how good it is to be American, we would triumph! My God is the most powerful being in existence and he don't force us to serve him......

New voters? Why now? Fallow a dream? Obama is dreaming. He cannot stand behind his own words. "What I meant to say", is this the leader we want for our country? I don't want a "What I meant to say" President. If he can't stand behind his words now how can he later? When Clinton ran her ad's about "3 a.m." and Bin ladin in picture. She was strong and stood behind 100% on what she said and what she meant from the start. "What I meant to say", we need a strong leader now.

Shame on Hillary Clinton. Invoking fear in American people. Very negative. There is nothing hopeful and positive about Hillary Clinton. If she wins by 5 point or less than 10 points, that is no win loser.

Hey SG, go to barackobama.com and click on the issues button. You'll see 64 pages of substance in Obama's Blueprint for Change. Then go to Hillary's site and try to download anything that comes close that. You can't. It doesn't exist. Substance? All Hillary's been spewing is negative attacks on Obama. She hasn't been talking about her mandated health care plan - at least not the part where she tells what the penalty will be if we don't buy it. All I've been hearing from Hillary is how she wants to obliterate Iran. No president has ever spoken about another country - friend or foe - in that stark of terms. And she called Obama "naive and irresponsible?" Iran knows they'll have to answer to us if they attack Israel, all the Arab countries know that. It's what has kept them safe for 60 years. But to go about saying we'll obliterate them is just ridiculous. Her "35 years of experience" should have told her that.

While I agree that the last debate was nothing but tabloid journalism Hillary ALWAYS wins the debates because she knows what she is talking about, says it eloquently and has real plans and ideas for our country. Obama just rambles on about change. Hillary is clearly the better of a choice for the democratic nomination! Go Hillary!

"Change" "Change you can believe in" are great marketing slogans. Too bad Hillary's campaign didn't come up with a good marketing campaign. The truth is that Americans are afraid of change, and Hillary stands for big changes that make people feel uncomfortable. Obama has sweet peaceful eyes, and I think he will unite the country, but we need some major radical changes, and I don't think there is room for compromise for issues like the economy, environment, war and healthcare. But if you are susceptible to mind control through advertising and marketing campaigns, (like you think gas is good) then you might be voting for Obama, and have no idea why.

Obama has the young voters, the more educated voters, and about every voting bloc except for old dissed white women who would vote for anything with a skirt to forward woman into office.

You can tell the type, the one's that keep justifying their vote using the word "experience" when in truth they couldn't come up with one thing she's ever accomplished....except for dodging all that enemy fire in Bosnia!

The first time voters, the youth don't remember how the media pushed George Bush in 2000, and how his stump speeches were filled with the same talk of changing Washington, and he was the young, inspirational cool candidate. Obama has practically taken his whole personna from Bush, but you were all too young to remember. Well you can see the effects of his presidency and it's just a glimpse into what the Obama presidency would be.

DARTH...
I'd love to see it... cause 4 points either way is a HUGE obama victory given the dimographic favoring her, the governors election machine behind her, her parent's roots there, and even the subtle plays to race (that she will never admit to)...

it is AMAZING

Anna, CA.

Hillary is the best canditate. I hope you will win the election. Senator Obama needs to earn more experience. They both should work together for the general election.

Hillary 08!

New voters are people who didn't vote before because they were tired of divisive gotcha politics (which Clinton uses and Obama refuses to use) and politicians who were beholden to corporate lobbyists (which Clinton is, and Obama is not).

Remember, they are politicians. Come January, the flow will be the same, stuck in the Middle East, $6.00 per gallon gas, foreclosures out of control and the rich get richer. Thanks George and the Next President.

Jane,

1) You say "hillary shipped jobs overseas", yet you give no factual information to back that statement up.

Since Hillary became a senator, New York has seen one of the largest increases in jobs in its history....... over a million.

The argument that Hillary is winning in states that democrats will win in the fall and by that Obama will not win them is weak and lame at best.

For starters, if Hillary can only win in states where democrats wins each year, that means she is very weak as a candidate; she does not have anything new to offer the party or bring to the table and if these states having been voting democratic for decades, they will vote for Obama in the falls if he is the nominee. We have two good candidates and the democrats are divided and hence in those states they voted for one candidate over the other but in a primary, those voters will unite behind the nominee.

The other argument that Obama outspent Hillary 3-1 is nonsense. First of all, this guy raised those money for this election and the money need to be spend, he cannot be sitting on the money and not use it. This also tells a lot on Hillary's inability to raise money and compete on that level.

Given, Hillary will win in PA, but Obama will blunt her win with a more higer win in NC and any delegate he might have lost in PA, he will gain in NC and more.

IN will be a tie-breaker or it will be divided down the middle so as far as I am concern this race is over.

If Hillary likes it or not, she will concede now or later.

Shaky performance by Obama in the last debate? What debate? It sounded like a call-in talk show on shock radio to me. How sad that the moderators played into the fears of the fine people of PA, and how sad that some of them believed it. Shame on ABC for their performance. Shame on Hillary for using Republican scare tactics in her ad this week. Does she really want to sacrifice this country and give it over to McCain for her own ambition so that she can set up for 2012? Obama held his own in the face of vile mudslinging and I respect him for that.

Robin,

to answer your question, SHOULD IT HAVE BEEN " WINNER-TAKE-ALL" in the states... Clinton would be ahead by a SLIGHTLY margin that Obama is right now... (but I think the exact math is 174 delegates ahead)...

Because of that discrepancy (because obama won 30 contests to clinton's 11 (so far).. the democrats , attempting to give weight to ALL states... not just BIG states... did it this way.... (otherwise... everybody would focus ONLY on California and new york, and illinois... texas... and FORGET about the rest of the country...

well... that's your civics lesson for the day folks...

truth is... THE SYSTEM THE DEMS HAVE...... IS THE SYSTEM THE DEMS HAVE..... no use crying about it 40 states into the batle.
