Clinton camp launches Obama 'Debate Watch'

(CNN) – Hillary Clinton’s campaign has increased its efforts to pressure Barack Obama to agree to more debates.

On Wednesday, they sent reporters a press release titled “Debate Watch: Day 1,” as part of their continuing effort to focus attention on Obama’s reluctance to schedule more primary season showdowns.

During a rally in Hillsborough, North Carolina Wednesday afternoon, former President Bill Clinton, standing on the back of a pick-up truck, told voters: “I think I know the answer to why one candidate wants to debate, ‘cuz I saw the debate in Pennsylvania. And afterwards, 41 percent of the voters saw it. And by 55 to 22, they said Hillary won.”

Earlier this week, a proposed North Carolina debate was cancelled after Obama’s team said the Illinois senator would not be able to find time in his schedule.

“It's not clear that another debate is going to be the best use of our time,” Obama told CNN’s Roland Martin Wednesday.

The Obama campaign says that the candidates have met in more than 20 primary season debates. But the Clinton camp counters that only four of those meetings have been one-on-one.

“Hoosiers are going to be disappointed if [the debate] doesn’t happen,” said Sen. Evan Bayh, a Clinton supporter. Clinton herself told an Indiana crowd that "some people" think the voters are tired of debates but she disagrees.

Hillary Clinton was widely viewed as having a stronger performance at last week’s debate than Obama, which her campaign said contributed to her success with late-deciding voters.

Both North Carolina and Indiana vote May 6.

I did my own math and found that more than 80% of the U.S. population lives in the 15 big states that have already held their primaries (CA, TX, NY, FL, IL, PA, OH, MI, GA, NJ, NC, VA, MA WA, TN) . Hillary Clinton won 12 of these states. More than 210,000,000 people live in the 12 big states that Hillary Clinton has won. Of course she did not win 210,000,000 votes but she won the states in which over two thirds of our 300,000,000 US population live. This is very significant.
Also, to not count FL and MI is unjust.

I believe the DNC is, contrary to the news pundits, imploding. The Clintonian concept of owning the Democratic party is less than 50% accepted and the strong 50% is leaning to independent party creation if Hillary is given the democratic selection. We have worked hard to draw in 167 new young voters who will back an independent ticket with votes, money, canvasing and blogs before committing to a Clinton ticket that beg borrowed and stole it's way into the White House. Read the New York Times from this morning and remember, they endorsed Hillary before condemning her today. .

1in 7 PENNSYVANIANS admitted that race was a big factor when they cast their votes. In NOV. if OBAMA is not the nonimee {afro-americans voters should go REPUBLICAN and take our chances since the DEMOCRATIC PARTY cant support our canidate, either though we always have strongly voted for white canidates. We can be the spoilers for the NOV election and send a very clear message. Who knows maybe the REPUBLICAN PARTY may embrace us and do the right thing. This is the way I going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope he doesn't do it unless the questions are published in advance and they are focused on the issues that matter to the people of our country, not a show for George S and Charlie G to show their lack of respect for people. Now if I could ask the questions and get an honest answer from the Junior Senator from New York it would be a good idea, but that won't happen as she doesn't know how to tell the truth about anything. By the way I noticed that none of the people had an American flag pin on their clothes. These debates have become a game for the media and make for lousy entertainment but I can see why Hillary wants another debate, I wonder how much she paid GS and CG to ask those questions or should I say the lobyist paid them.

You are certainly accurate; another debate with HRC would not be productive. She can go and debate herself, besides, she does that a best!

what is the issue with debates. We have seen more than enough debates. The whole Democratic party is in for big trouble. We can be looking at this election and saying it only the primary, it will spill over to the senatorial and congressional elections in the next 2 and 4 years, and the republican will have the presidency, senate and the congress. This is the beginning of something bigger than what the superdelegates are foreseeing. how can one person be more than a whole party. I will guarantee you guys now, we are going to do our upmost best to enhance the destruction of the party and put an end to the political careers of so many people. watch out

Ok here is the nail in Hillary's coffin for me. I had been leaning towards her if it somehow it came down to her and McCain. But this woman has no moral authority for me. This is a low low tactic. I refuse under any circumstances to vote for her now. She is ridiculous.

And Barack Obama has done well in many debates, though perhaps they are not his strongest point. He has already participated in 21 and that is a lot if not enough.

Also I was a debater in high school and though debating is fun. The best debaters are the best liars. Because debate is all about taking any issue and anything that is said and spinning it your way. It, I know, can be a very difficult thing to do and win if you have a very strong moral or ethical conscience.
    Obviously Hillary doesn't.

Instead of Stephanapolous this time, maybe she will bring in her friend John McCain to ask the stupid questions. To sling mud she will just have to pay for the TV ads. That is if she has any money to buy them. BTW, has anybody asked her how she so mismanaged her campaign finances so badly that she runs out of money before the campaign is over. if she ever got elected would the U.S. run ourt of money before her term was completed?

I would love to see Obama take a page of Clintons playbook and attack her for all her misinformation, lies and past scandals.
From Lobbying for NAFTA, supporting it for two decades to all of a sudden being against it? All the while both her husband and ex-chief strategist, Mark penn are pushing to expand NAFTA into South America.
The Clintons made $800.000 from NAFTA negotiations last year...
1996: Hillary said “I think NAFTA is proving its worth.”

1997: Hillary went to Mexico and proclaimed “NAFTA is working, working for you and working for the American people… We must accelerate the pace of these efforts, to reach more people and more communities.”

1998: Hillary went before the World Economic Forum and lauded multinational corporations for mounting “a very effective business effort in the U.S. on behalf of Nafta.”

Go ahead Hillary fans...check the facts. it's all there.

Too bad Obama doesn't want to lower himself to her level...He could rip her a new one before the first commercial break of her requested "debate". But I guess he is a man of character.

  17. OBAMA IS THE BEST ONE WE GOT!!!!

Why should he agree to another bogus debate where going in the cards are stacked against him. If he is too aggressive with that little white woman people will think of him as an angry black man. If he is gentle and allow Hillary to put her spins on everything showing her own self to be a BRUTE OF A WOMAN, then he is considered to be weak.

I watched and thought Obama did very well, he is tired of the nonsense and was only saying let's talk about the issues that matters to people knowing fully well there are many like Hillary they feed on the BS to get by the truth is foreign to them they find it offensive.

Senator Obama We are so very proud of you and your intelligence you continue to show time after time. Keep on going you have far more in support of you than lil miss. hilly that is the very reason they are BITTER!!!

Another debate? Why shouldn't Hilary pay for "air time" like Sen. Obama and John McCain? Oh.... she's broke! Well, debates only give her access to free media time....I say NO to anymore debates....Everybody who owns a television or reads a newspaper have endured 21 of these things....Enough already! There's nothing new to learn, we already know where they stand on the issues. If any Clinton cultist want another debate, let them get a video copy from the MSM of the ones we already sat through. Please post – NO MORE DEBATES DAY:1

Neither Clinton can come up with a winning plan. As a soldier from the Nam war I was insulted to think that a person wanting to be president was confused about sniper fire.
How in the world did the former body guards keep their mouths shut?
Did she have no idea of what was going on around her?
I guess Bil must of told her about sniper fire or maybe she heard about at a meeting with Bush.

No more debates, they serve no purpose any longer other than providing more opportunities for Clinton to be obnoxious. We are all well aware of her pathetic game plan at this point.

    Go Obama!
