Clinton camp launches Obama 'Debate Watch'

(CNN) – Hillary Clinton’s campaign has increased its efforts to pressure Barack Obama to agree to more debates.

On Wednesday, they sent reporters a press release titled “Debate Watch: Day 1,” as part of their continuing effort to focus attention on Obama’s reluctance to schedule more primary season showdowns.

During a rally in Hillsborough, North Carolina Wednesday afternoon, former President Bill Clinton, standing on the back of a pick-up truck, told voters: “I think I know the answer to why one candidate wants to debate, ‘cuz I saw the debate in Pennsylvania. And afterwards, 41 percent of the voters saw it. And by 55 to 22, they said Hillary won.”

Earlier this week, a proposed North Carolina debate was cancelled after Obama’s team said the Illinois senator would not be able to find time in his schedule.

“It's not clear that another debate is going to be the best use of our time,” Obama told CNN’s Roland Martin Wednesday.

The Obama campaign says that the candidates have met in more than 20 primary season debates. But the Clinton camp counters that only four of those meetings have been one-on-one.

“Hoosiers are going to be disappointed if [the debate] doesn’t happen,” said Sen. Evan Bayh, a Clinton supporter. Clinton herself told an Indiana crowd that "some people" think the voters are tired of debates but she disagrees.

Hillary Clinton was widely viewed as having a stronger performance at last week’s debate than Obama, which her campaign said contributed to her success with late-deciding voters.

Both North Carolina and Indiana vote May 6.

Tired and sick of these debates . Obama is indeed the person with the right human qualities one would want to see in the President of United States. High time Hillary Clinton acknowledge the fact that she just does not have the vision or personality to be the President .Fighter she might be ,definitely not a leader

What we want in Northwest Indiana suburbs, not the cities, is to hear Senator Obama speak to us as he has spoken in Gary .We hear about his message, but we want him to come to Valparaiso, Chesterton,Portage,Dyer,Munster, Schererville, St. John, Crown Point, Lowell. We are listening to you, but we want you to come and talk to us, too.We are familiar with Senator Obama because all our television is broadcast from Chicago. We are part of "Chicagoland."Indianapolis doesn't pay attention to us, except when it comes to collecting our taxes. This is the first time I can recall in my 60 years on earth, a Senator actually came to our area many times. He is campaigning for the opponent. As a former Hoosier, for 52 years, this is what I am hearing from my family and friends who live on the border of Chicago.I am listening, Senator Obama. Are you listening, Obama campaign?

outspenting 3 to 1 and Obama could not even knock Clinton down? This is the sign of a big trouble that will soon be coming.

Okay Bosnia Hillary? Why can't you close the deal? Obama has to go against everything he believes in to fight you. I hope he hurries up. 1. He has to lie 2. He has to cheat. ( maybe an affair like Slick Willy?) 3. He has to bring up all of your faults. (too many to list here.) I am a old folk and I say Go Obama all the way to the White House.

Osama won't have time to debate because he is busy to play bowling, or basketball for his money. He can't win vs Clinton on the American's issues because he knows nothing, and voters will realize how bad he is.

He aint perfect, but he's normal – without the personal hangups the 2 dem(ogogues) candidates have! Bravo!!!

Barack agreed twice to a NC debate that Hillary declined. So whats all the noise about now.

Besides this race is already over. If Obama has any more debates it should be with John McCain. Hillary's already lost.

Mots people want the candidates and supporters to keep "fighting." Mots feel this is great for the party and the nation.

Well, let us wait– "monkey see, monkey do." In months to come, the Dems and Republicans in the House and Senate will be "figting" and I will like to listen to those who say that they should STOP and focus on issues of interest to this nation. Why should they? You have told them to go to Washington and "fight, not get together to resolve issues." So, as instructed by Hillary– keep fighting warriors! All you need is go out and pay $4/gallon for gas at thr pump; they will still be fighting!!! God bless us all.

We don't need yet another debate to know Senator Obama is ready to be our president. If Hillary was viewed as having a stronger performance than Obama it's because the debate was a one-sided love affair with George Stephanopoulous. She got the chance to answer questions that had some substance to them. Obama had to answer questions he had all ready answered, with efficiency two dozen times. If the debates are not going to be equally fair, Senator Obama needs to say NO DEAL !

The Clintons had their chance from 1993-2000 and failed to do anything about capturing the terrorists responsible for attacks on America (September 11, 2001). It's ironic that Senator Clinton posts an ad with a picture of of Osama to lead us to believe she can protect us. Based on the 9-11 Commision and other reports, President Clinton was in office when most of the plans were developed to attack America, and they did nothing about it. President Clinton had all the resources he needed to prevent the attack, but he and his wife were too busy defending themselves and trying to build a legacy for themselves. I am sure they will blame President Bush for allowing the attack, but I disagree. Clinton had a chance to prevent the problem, but failed. Why should they be given a second chance?

Pathetic attempt to stay in the news and relevant b/c she can't afford to pay her bills...10 million isn't going to cut it as far as what she owes and what she will need to continue to be competitive.

You can add delusional to her self-absorbed, megolomanic title. She can't win. If she does, Dems lose the White House b/c you will have lost the youth vote and the black vote, and lost them for a generation.

Heck, if Hillary wins, I don't even want to live in the U.S. She is horrible.

I love all these Hillary supporters whining away, I have NEVER seen more mud slinging in the same PARTY! It's foul, and the debates are rubbish.(all of them) How LONG in the last debate did it take them to bring up a REAL ISSUE? Gas is over $4 a gallon, food prices are up, people are being thrown out of their houses and now all she wants to focus on is how long Barack refuses to debate (translation: Debate = Let Hillary waste 3 hours launching personal attacks) her ?! She's a liar and an opportunist whose only "Experience" is in digging up dirt and thowing it.

As far as the commentors who have stated that Barack reads his scripted responses to Hillary's "scripted" attacks...If she could stop beating a dead horse with the same attacks he wouldn't have to keep repeating himself. At least he gives consistant answers that answer attacks rather than "oh, it happened so many years ago I forgot what really happened." PLEASE, like if ANY of us came under sniper fire we would FORGET!?!

Stick to the issues people or we go down in flames.

Personally, i think more debates are a waste of time. Nothing new is covered. I enjoyed meeting him in person and listening to his plans. Moreover, you get an opportunity to ask the questions that are on your mind.

She is a better debater plain and simple. She is better at policy, more heartfelt, more intelligent with a more thorough grasp of the complex issues that will face a preside. That is what he doesn't want the public to finally take notice of. He says he doesn't want any more debates but wouldn't more face to face debates about the issues (yes the issues next time would be better) make sense seeing as how the two candidates are locked in a very tough and very close battle?? A little more compare and contrast should highlight the reasons they are asking for our support.

The Clinton campaign will try to coerce Obama into another debate by calling him all sorts of names. Obama is leading or on level he doesn't need a debate, only when you are behind do you need a debate. After being sandbagged by Charlie Gibson and her old political buddy Geroge why would he want to do it. The other debates were fair to both candidates but the last was lopsided against Obama. That is unfair and Charlie Gibson and George lost a lot of believers in them when they set Obama. So....no more debates needed.

    Well,

I guess we could have all seen this coming. it really did look like Americans were going to show real courage for a while and send a message to the old school politicians.

now we get to listen to more sleazy jabs from an ex president, more mudslinging from Hillary,

AND we haven't even gotten to the part where after being behind in the popular vote and pledged delegates she sues for the nomination by trying to change the rules on Florida and Michigan. She knew she was going to use it ... why else would she campaign there?
You can either fight her with everything you got Obama, or just walk away now.

If you can beat this lady, McCain would be a walk in the park for you in November, Otherwise, get settled for a dysfunctional payola fest in the white house for the next 4 years.

DGH- No, she is an expert liar, a fabricator, and the lowest form of human being. For anyone to use p/11 to get votes, that person must be a heartless fruitcake.
I cannot believe that I use to defend this woman. I stoodup for her when my co-workers called her names like crook, lesbian, etc. Now I see what they saw. She has no integrity. To get votes there is no limit to how low she is willing to go. It is all about Hillary. She is a sick woman. The woman is a low life. And I am sure what to make of her husband anymore. May be she should win the presidency and bring her own Monica into the oval office. This time it won't be cigar it will be beer.

Only God will save America from Hillary, Bill Clinton, and the Bushes.
