Jenna Bush may not back McCain

Laura Bush and daughter Jenna appeared on CNN's Larry King Live Thursday.
Laura Bush and daughter Jenna appeared on CNN's Larry King Live Thursday.

(CNN) - President Bush was quick to endorse John McCain when the Arizona senator wrapped up his bid for the Republican presidential nomination.

But another Bush might not be so sure.

Speaking with CNN's Larry King Wednesday night, Jenna Bush said she hasn't decided yet who she will vote for in November.

"I don't know," Jenna Bush, daughter of President and Mrs. Bush, said when asked if she will back McCain.

"Of course [I am open]. I mean, who isn't open to learning about the candidates and I'm sure that everybody's like that," she added.

Though the younger Bush conceded she has "been too busy with books to really pay that much attention."

Meanwhile, mother Laura Bush was quick to affirm that she will be voting for the Republican candidate in the fall.

The two appeared on the show to discuss Jenna Bush's upcoming wedding next month.

"[It will be] outdoors, very small wedding, you 'know, very small, all relatives, our families, really, kind of big," Jenna Bush said. “So it's half-family and then half very close friends."

I think it;s a wonderful idea that she remains open minded about candidates. Just because her father is a Republican does not mean that the entire Bush family are. I shows that Jenna is an independent thinker and she should make the desicion on her own. She should be comfortable with whichever candidate she chooses to succeed her father. The choice is hers and hers alone and no one should influence her desicion. I already made my choice without the influence of others.

I love how biased CNN news is. Every comment is "yeah Jenna, at least someone has brains!". CNN, prove me wrong and post this comment so the world knows that you're willing to share more opionions other than how terrible President Bush is. By the way, I'm not a Bush supporter, I just can't stand how biased CNN is and yet they play it off as if they are fair and balanced…they practically make FOX news look objective.

OLD VS. THE YOUNG. I AM 59 YOA AND UNDERSTAND WERE SSHE IS COMING FROM. WE IN MY GENERATION TEND TO HANG ON TO THOSE OLD STEROTYPES NO MATTER WHAT. MY GRANDMOTHER LIVED TO BE 113 AND THOUGHT THAT WHEN ANY WHITE PERSON
SPOKE IT WAS LIKE THE WORD OF GOD. WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THESE YOUNG PEOPLE NOW IS THAT THEY JUST DON'T FALL FOR ANYTHING LIKE MY GENERATION (BLACK, WHITE OR OTHERS). THEY ARE MUCH MORE EDUCATED AND WISE THAN MOST IN MY GENERATION. WHAT BOTHERS ME ARE THOSE THAT CAN'T SEE THAT FACT. THEY ARE SO QUCIKLY TO HOLD ON TO THOSE STEROTYPES TO THE DEATH OF OUR COUNTRY. BETTER YET, THEIR BOMB, BOMB MENTALITY COMES FROM LIFE EXPERIENCES THAT THIS GENERATION REALLY DON'T THINK IS NECESSARY IN GOD'S GREAT SCHEEME OF THINGS. HANG IN THERE J. BUSH AND VOTE FOR OBAMA IF YOU WANT TO.

Wouldn't that be Chelsea Clinton, then?

Actually, I think Jenna's backing won't be the most important thing in the world, but it will be far from the least IF she backs Obama.

It will point out that 20 straight years of Bushs and Clintons, with the possibility of another 24 or even 28 years if Clinton wins IS ENOUGH.

Concluding that Jenna's uncertainity of who she will support is due to her "education" or "brains" is a hugh leap. I saw the interview and also one Larry had done with her previously. When asked about her views on the Iraq war she replied that she doesn't follow it. She responded "I don't have an opinion". The same is true for the presidential race. She didn't respond directly to the question because she doesn't know a thing about any of the issues or the candidates. She's planning her wedding, on a book tour, and greeting the Pope. Who has time for politics? Calling her "brillant", "smart" or "courageous" under these circumstances? Pay attention she's not what you think she is!

Go, Jenna! Thinking for yourself is a great sign of strength. One that hasn't really been attached to a Bush before!

Please. The Bush girls are nothing more than overprivledged silver spooned brats who will do exactly what Mommy and Daddy say. If you can honestly look at the state of this country and say "yeah, Daddy is doing a great job", then no amount of ivy league education can help you. Common sense is not taught. Under her father's leadership, the same children she is writing books for, have no health insurance and are facing poverty. Under her father's leadership, the children she and her mother so vocally support, are lacking in public education and are facing a future planet filled with toxic smoke and unliveable conditions. Yeah, Daddy did you proud, huh?

Jenna is a smart young woman who focuses on education and human rights. I'd bet a lot of money she didn't vote for her own father – she's too smart for that.

She says she is too busy with books to really pay that much attention???? ALL of the candidates deserve better than that, and NONE of them need even one more uninformed voter like Jenna. But then, that's the Bush way–go do stuff (like vote or start a war) that will impact the nation and the world, without having an ounce of knowledge or understanding to support your decision.
Jenna, do us all a favor, and stay home from the polls.

She lives in America and can vote for whomever she wishes and should not be judged by her choice.

Why so many hatefull messages? Hateful comments make a bad case for who you support. Rise above the hate. Do it for yourself and do it for our country.

    Another example of our youth.....
I am too busy to research the candidates.

And so the youth .... who are of voting age....who never get around to
researching the candidates...and they do vote..... what really decides
their vote ? Looks? They got to hear "A" speech ? Who is promising them what ? They do what their other UN-informed friends do ?

Anyone who does not know the history of a candidate, nor can speak the language., not understands world affairs, nor understands the history of America, nor understands how our government(s) are designed to operate (by and through jurisdiction and limitations)
..... please stay home and not vote.

Anyone who believes that a government is designed to be your caretaker and provider of needs...
......please stay home and not vote.
