DS in SD   April 24th, 2008 10:32 am ET

Great. More of the same from Senator McSame. And he tries to deny the fact that his being elected would be an extension of the Bush White House? This guy is pathetic…

who cares?

Rob Abb   April 24th, 2008 10:46 am ET

I WISH I could say this was surprising….just more and more evidence that McCain did in fact make a deal with Bush in 2004 tantamount to : Ok Mr. President, I will sit down and shut up and when it's my time, I get your staff and will get money when I need it. Coincidence that those tax cuts to the wealthiest 1% suddenly were worth voting for after voting against them in 2001 and 2003?

Pat Huntington NY   April 24th, 2008 10:49 am ET

Clear cut evidence that McCain will be McSame, McBush, Bush III…he's already signing on Bush's people for his campaign, he'll fill his administration with Bushies, and we will all suffer for it if he's president.

VOTE DEMOCRATIC…whoever the nominee shall be.

Schnarfer   April 24th, 2008 10:51 am ET

Surprised? Somebody who campaigned for George W is now campaigning for McCain! I would have never seen that coming… Anybody else shocked that someone who campained for Bush's second term is campaigning for his THIRD?

John McCain = 4 more years!

Heather   April 24th, 2008 10:56 am ET

See there. Repubs are getting it together. Come on Dems.

former bush communications director new mccain communications director ANY QUESTIONS AMERICA

Charlotte   April 24th, 2008 11:02 am ET

McCain has proven he is willing to cross party lines. McCain/Kennedy
Mccain/Fiengold co-sponsored bills. If not Hillary, then McCain will get my vote. The war maybe an issue, however, anyone who believes he wants to fight for 100 years is stupid. We have had a presence in other countries for 60 plus years. To think we won't have a presence in Iraq for many, many years is also stupid. McCain will have as much pressure to withdraw troops as any other President. He has proven he will work to achieve what is best for this country. He has served this country in the military as well as in the congress. Obama said, he would make a better President than Bush. On this, I think we can all agree.

Paul D. Jessup   April 24th, 2008 11:03 am ET

This is related to the continuing debate on whether to count Florida and Michigan's democrate primary votes/delegates and really the broader issue…..who the hell do these political parties think they are anyway! This is the PERFECT example of a two party system gone awray! Someone explain to me how political parties have any legitimate or legal right or authority to tell legitimate governmental authorities and duly elected and seated legislatures can or cannot make laws in their jurisdictions about when their states elections can, or cannot be held? Where do the political parties get off with their domineering attitude? This is insane! Americans need to wake up and make it perfectly clear we are fed up with business as usual in politics! The two party political system in America is terribly broken and we need a fresh infusion of ideology and a complete overhaul of the electoral college and primary system. This whole issue is periously close to taking away a citizen's right to vote!

I hope they get some much needed rest. I know I couldn't do what either of them are doing and not slip up a bit.

NickNas   April 24th, 2008 11:07 am ET

I am sure IF this man gets the Whitehouse it will be Just like Bush 2..We will see ALL of the old crew getting jobs with him. That is the problem, we keep the swame families in Washington and they keep the SAME people working for them so THEY keep making the SAME Mistakes.

How is that different than a monarchy again?

Fair America   April 24th, 2008 11:09 am ET

So, not so "maverick" McSame is trying to recreate Bush's run for the Presidency eh?

LaMarr   April 24th, 2008 11:19 am ET

IF FLORIDA AND MICHIGAN VOTE DOESN'T COUNT, WHY DO THE DEMS STILL NEED 2025 DELEGATES?

J   April 24th, 2008 11:37 am ET

WOW !!!!

bill   April 24th, 2008 11:42 am ET

No offense, McCain campaign…but its a little late to just now crafting your national message.

#1 rule of politics: Never let your opponent define you before you have defined yourself.

The media and the liberal PAC's have already crafted an image for McCain: He's old and he's just like Bush. Now you have to craft a message that diffuses both of those notions.

The McCain campaign should have done a better job of defining McCain at the national level earlier in the race.

James   April 24th, 2008 11:43 am ET

Anything to connect McCain with Bush

Dan Minneapolis   April 24th, 2008 11:46 am ET

Wow, that's a shocker!

Bridgette   April 24th, 2008 11:49 am ET

But he is not the same as Bush. Let's wake up America.

Who is Nicole Wallace? This one will probably get posted because it is about nothing.

Mary May King   April 24th, 2008 11:55 am ET

Please, please help him get the Shiite/Sunni thing straight once and for all. We have to know who are friends are to have a really good fight.

Michael Lorton, Virginia   April 24th, 2008 11:56 am ET

This is news?

Sharon Minnesota   April 24th, 2008 12:00 pm ET

Who Cares?

I'm sure someone will in the fall when McCain is attacking our democratic nominee. I really hope it's not Obama. Ms. Wallace is probably digging up a load of internet ammunition right now to sink his ship.

As Hillary says, they (the republicans) have been rummaging through my baggage for years now so what's new. No surprises here.

I don't care either because I'm for Hillary first McCain second.

Ian   April 24th, 2008 12:17 pm ET

How long before he starts dating her?

This shouldn't surprise anyone! But have you listened to W give a speech lately! I'm looking forward to the McCain gaffes on Letterman!

Johnny   April 24th, 2008 12:37 pm ET

Great idea!

Lets get all of the Bush Staff on to help McCain run for another Bush term.

With all of the "great" advise Pres. Bush has been getting for the past 7 years, I can see how great it will that these diehard professional people will help McCain follow the same footsteps to drive this counrty into a bigger recession, never ending war, and loss of respect from the rest of the world.

McCain, I am proud that you are doing your part to keep all of the members of your party well employed…at least for the short term, since they will be out of a job in January '09.

proud army and navy mom   April 24th, 2008 12:43 pm ET

bush no 3

Appiah-Marfo   April 24th, 2008 12:44 pm ET

Be watchful America, trully McCain is indeed Bush third term of office.

Tony   April 24th, 2008 12:49 pm ET

So has Daffy Duck.

rochelle   April 24th, 2008 12:52 pm ET

Reports are so quick to mension that Obama cannot close the deal on clinton because she won by 10 points i give her credit for that, but reports seem to forget that he is ahead because he won more states, delegates, and popular votes than her, which means his base is bigger than her's and that means that he has a better chance of wining in Nov. than her.
Oh don't forget she was the the next president, so how is the one that can not close the deal.

mitch from ark.   April 24th, 2008 12:56 pm ET

another bush croney, working for another bush term.

Joe   April 24th, 2008 12:56 pm ET

Maybe she can take his pulse, and let us know if he's still with us.

Julia, VT   April 24th, 2008 1:00 pm ET

Is that George Wallace? I'm sure his spirit is lurking around some where with all those hateful, racist ads by the McCain campaign.

rochelle   April 24th, 2008 1:06 pm ET

I am not an american and i wouldn't care about Mc Cain if i was I gess those people that care about him are those people that think america 's identity is tied up in being at war.

Ernest   April 24th, 2008 1:11 pm ET

Who is nicole wallace?

Farren Ballanst   April 24th, 2008 1:12 pm ET

Of course, Bush-McCain would use the same communications director for their third term. Why change horses midstream?

JDC // Ohio   April 24th, 2008 1:20 pm ET

From what I heard today…that McCain wants the N. Carolina GOP to pull a harmless ad, I suspect Mcain is capable of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. What a dodo!

K   April 24th, 2008 1:29 pm ET

Dear Great,
Obviously you care, since you read it and took the time to post a smarmy remark!

Dan   April 24th, 2008 1:35 pm ET

McCain is off to a bad start. The theme this year is change.

Rebecca   April 24th, 2008 1:36 pm ET

Just more proof. 4 more years of Bush if McCain gets elected. He is already hiring Bush's advisors. That's the last thing this country needs, more Bush advisors.

shaun   April 24th, 2008 1:38 pm ET

really…

Ig   April 24th, 2008 1:39 pm ET

Great, you beat me to it.

hrp   April 24th, 2008 1:47 pm ET

Yep! McCain needs all the former Bush hacks he can get.

S.B. Stein E.B. NJ   April 24th, 2008 2:34 pm ET

Okay, how much of a maverick is this guy really? It is looking like the Bush policies would get a third term with McCain… Do we really want that?
