ASHEVILLE, North Carolina (CNN) - Hillary Clinton touted her commander-in-chief credentials across North Carolina Thursday, again bringing along a delegation of retired military officers to testify on her behalf.

"If she has to pull the trigger, General Shelton and I know she'll pull it," Brigadier General John Watkins told a boisterous crowd in Asheville, a liberal enclave in more conservative western North Carolina.

Native Tar Heel and former Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Hugh Shelton made his debut campaign appearance on behalf of Clinton saying he had a "deep and abiding concern" for members of the military.

"Few members of Congress can claim a better record on behalf of those who serve our country," Shelton said, as he stood in front of a 'Solutions for a Strong Military' banner. "Senator Clinton is the only candidate in the running for president of the United States that has the wherewithal and the leadership ability to carry America back to its rightful place."

Clinton started her day in Fayetteville, right in the shadow of Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base. A caravan of veterans will spend the days leading up to the May 6 primary traveling the state talking in VFW halls about Clinton's plans to increase benefits and access to health care for veterans and easing hardship on military families, issues that dominated the senator's question and answer session in Fayetteville.

While the focus of the day was on all issues military, politics was just under the surface. Clinton called herself the "underdog" in the North Carolina contest and said her "opponent" should agree to a debate here.

"I'll debate anytime anywhere. Look, I'm so sleep-deprived it doesn't matter, anytime, anywhere I'll show up," she said. "This is going to be a hard fought election here in North Carolina. I know that I'm starting off behind. I get it. But I'm still going to work as hard as I can to reach as many voters as I can."

Obama has been in elected office (Illinois State Senate and National Senate) for what 11 year? And Clinton has been in for 7 years?

Being "ready" to "obliterate" the nation of Iran doesn't make her presidential, it removes my last objection to voting for "Bomb bomb bomb Iran" McCain. His "joke" seems tame in comparison.

It is absolutely ridiculous to criticize Obama for wanting to have diplomatic relations with our "enemies." The argument usually boils down to "Obama JUST wants to talk," which is utter BS. He's always saying that he'd "keep all option on the table" including using force.

Dan-Groveland   April 25th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

Of course Hillary will pull the trigger! That's the problem you idiots!
Who wants a President with her finger on the big button? And I believe her antaganistic personality is just what we "don't" need!

Concerned Democrat   April 25th, 2008 1:06 pm ET

Silly Hillary is trying to climb a rope soaked with grease.
Some people just need to know when to call it quits!

"Senator Clinton is the only candidate in the running for president of the United States that has the wherewithal and the leadership ability to carry America back to its rightful place."

Really??? Well then, she should also be blame for approving the war, I mean, if she has "credentials", then last time I checked, her credentials gave us the wrong path in our country....

It Requires Honesty   April 25th, 2008 1:04 pm ET

Hillary Clinton is not ready to meet the most basic standards of honesty, and therefore she is not ready to be Commander-in-Chief.

Johnny   April 25th, 2008 1:03 pm ET

Parading image launderers, political office seeks and sycophants make the whole thing a water shed. Hillary Clintons' wasted years while in the white house and claiming for an advantage on experience, can not be redeemed now. It is just too too late . We need a total turn around and change for the betterment of the American people. We need something different from the usual and the answer is OBAMA.

John Smith,TX   April 25th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

HILLARY IS THE BEST CHANCE FOR THE DEMOCRATES TO TAKE BACK THE HOUSE. CLYBURN NEEDS TO GO AHEAD AND ENDORSE OBAMA. I AM SICKED AND TIREDS OF HIS RACIST COMMENTS ON PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON. OBAMA AND HIS WIFE ARE RACIST AND THEY HATE THIS COUNTRY.

DNC screwed up   April 25th, 2008 1:00 pm ET

The DNC, the democratic party elites, screwed up.

They fixed the election for Obama- then...
All the Kennedy, Kerry , Shriver endorsements advantaged Obama.
The Celebrity bandwagon led by Oprah, advantaged Obama.
The infatuated Media and their biased coverage and scrutiny of the candidates, advantaged Obama.
Flawed caucus format- advantaged Obama
Discounting Fl and Mi voters- advantaged Obama.

All that and he STILL just has a narrow, narrow lead.

Now the DNC will force the Superdelgates to go against the rules and vote for Obama- in hopes of salvaging this chaotic primary mess.

They do that, not because those are the rules- the rules are quite the contrary. They do it because they are afraid of alienating the newly registered democrats and the very vocal African American community.

They should worry more about alienating the REST of America- including 50% of the democrats who will not vote for Obama.

What   April 25th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

What Commander and Chief credentials, Oh thats right, Hillary used to be a fish slimer that landed under sniper fire after the hospital turned her down, right after the NAFTA vote and before the 109 million from talking to the Columbians.

OK, I understand now..........LOL

Brian   April 25th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

I've never been commander-in-chief before, but I slept with a former one so elect me!

McCain/Clinton '08 The only thing we need to change is our seats in Washington!

Ehsanul Haque   April 25th, 2008 12:55 pm ET

Well she also has experience voting in favor of invading Iraq. Over 4000 thousand American life's lost, tens of thousands wounded, and hundreds of thousands suffering mentally. I still do not have any accurate number (proper count was never available in any of the reportings) of Iraqi deaths, Orphans, Woundeds, widows, refugees and much more. Oh! what a democracy she voted for. What a kind of judgement she's proud of.

Vote Americans, vote for Hillary!!!

Larry Buchas   April 25th, 2008 12:49 pm ET

How can she be trusted as Commander in Chief. First she caved in to Bush with Iraq. Next she voted with the Lieberman bill threatening Iran. Then she lied about her Bosnia experience multiple times. Finally, she mentioned "obliterate" Iran if they attacked Israel.

That last comment can only encourage recruits to jihad. Hillary and McCain do not show the temperament necessary in dealing with foreign policy or our national security.

Susan / PA   April 25th, 2008 12:47 pm ET

Yes, she'll "pull the trigger"

"Obliderate Iran" yes, that is what we need. a trigger happy President.......NOT

If she would have been a good commander-in-chief for her campaign – she wouldn't be owing Tom, Dick and Harry all down the streets in this country. Rumbling over small business, she has not paid. Shame on you Hillary!

CB in Florida   April 25th, 2008 12:40 pm ET

If Hillary has to pull the trigger, I truly hope she will use good judgment in doing so. Hillary has already admitted that she would attack Iran over Israel. Hillary would rule out any prospect of negotiations simply by threatening them with complete evisceration. When will the media look into Hillary’s claims of her Commander-in-Chief abilities minus her husband's? It would be nice to know how the Clinton administration's BRAC weighed on North Carolina’s economy. Hillary said it and We Already Knew It! Yes, We Can! OBAMA "08"

Working Gal in Big D   April 25th, 2008 12:39 pm ET

Frank, are you talking about Medicare? Sounds like your gripe is with Medicaid (the poor?). All Medicaid she be abolished. I'm, quite frankly, tired of my tax dollars going to support losers and lazy people!

Hussien for America   April 25th, 2008 12:37 pm ET

FUNNY, both Hillary and McCain "CLAIM" to have "all these decades of experience" – -
My question is, then HOW COME THEY ARE STILL TRYING TO "SOLVE" THESE SAME PROBLEMS WE HAVE HAD, FOR ALL THAT TIME.
With ALL their so called "experience", NOTHING HAS CHANGED ! May be, just may be, ALL THEIR "EXPERIENCE" IS OF THE WRONG KIND!!!!

Pepou   April 25th, 2008 12:36 pm ET

Greg   April 25th, 2008 12:17 pm ET

Understand she recently read a book about Truman.

That definitely adds to her Presidential credentials.

Think her team is looking to put her up in a hotel once occupied by Roosevelt.

She is sooooooo experienced!

checkthisout   April 25th, 2008 12:16 pm ET

If he faces a problem that requires pulling the trigger, I am afraid that OBAMA would rather make a speach and try to arrange to talk to the enemy.

He wants to talk to many people.
Syria and Asad is the new addition to the list.

He has had adequate training over these past 20 years with
JEREMIAH WRIGHT.

Carol Mc Cutcheon   April 25th, 2008 12:16 pm ET

I do not think the coverage is fair, in Pen state Clinton was way ahead in the polls, Obama cut her lead to in half, he did a good job, as for experience, being First Lady does not give you experience, or did she make the decisions for her husband, headline when she wins, is she beat him bad, when he wins it is like he was suppose to, the polls said he would,

Do not for the sake of the people vote HRC into office because she's white. Of course as Frank says, she will have all of Bill's puppets on her strings to say whatever he wants them to say. I guarantee you he's promised them something in return. Bill will do a nother 4 to 8 years again in the white house if we do not stop them! Listen Barack is trully the only nominee who has not thrown the race card on the table. America Obama does not care what color you are. He recognizes that ALL Americans are suffering. ....."Senator Clinton is the only candidate in the running for president of the United States that has the wherewithal and the leadership ability to carry America back to its rightful place."........

If you consider the fact that she is going to hack the military to pieces in order for her to raise money, like her husband did, then you will end up with the problems of a thinned military like we have now. Thats right, the military is stretched thin now because of her husbands destruction of our forces in his term.

"I'll debate anytime anywhere. Look, I'm so sleep-deprived it doesn't matter, anytime, anywhere I'll show up"

I cant believe she said this in front of military members. You don't know sleep deprivation like the military knows it.

She cannot even mobilize the NY Gaurd, how can she tout C-in-C credentials, she doesnt have any?

deep_eye   April 25th, 2008 11:33 am ET

Can we please stop with these blatant lies and "misspeaks?" Her "commander -in-chief" credentials are zero, zilch, nada, nyet – get it? Like the tooth fairy, Santa and the Easter bunny, they do not exist and claiming they do, does not make them so.

By the way, that was a great comment the other day, Hill – nuke Iran. Great, positively brilliant and what a special way to defuse that situation. After 8 years of Bush and the Iraq/Afghanistan wars, I know I join all other Americans in saying, let's start a new war up with Iran.

Yeah, you're ready from day one – keep that lie going, will you?

Shirley, Silicon Valley, CA   April 25th, 2008 11:31 am ET

In addition to Hillary's PATHOLOGICAL LIAR crediential, Hillary also has EXTRAORDINARY ABILITY TO COUT POPULAR VOTES! Why not also include those smiling ear-to-ear Republicans who also SUPPORTS

Marshall in Nebraska   April 25th, 2008 11:24 am ET

What credentials? Having a sham of a marrige to the President is not the credentials of a Commander-in-Chief. If it was there should have been about 40 previous First-Ladies who should have been president already.

Nice try.

I have had friend in the military (I am a military retiree) who worked in the Whitehouse during the Clinton Administration and said they were treated like dirt by Hillary, when she actually paid attention to them. Most of the time she ignored them. I also know about 50 current military member will will get out or retire before they serve under another Clinton Whitehouse.

Now that is called motivating the troops.

Jack Smith   April 25th, 2008 11:24 am ET

I.   April 25th, 2008 11:24 am ET

This is one scary thought: "If she has to pull the trigger... she'll pull it,"
Someone needs to tell these Generals that problem with Clinton is that she is liable to pull the trigger too soon like she did in Iraq.
And now all this talk about obliterating Iran with nukes...
Something is not right there...

I look at her current credentials.

She cannot close the deal against an individual whom no one had ever heard of before
She cannot run a campaign
She is broke and asking for contributions from the poor that represent most of her voters.
She has a FORMER PRESIDENT campaigning full time for her and stil can not close the deal !!
Her negativity has almost ruined the Democratic Party !!
IF THIS IS A RESPECTED COMMANDER AND CHIEF THEN HEAVEN HELP US !

KJ, CA   April 25th, 2008 11:21 am ET

Come on now – What commander-in-chief credentials? Last time I looked HRC has never been the President of the United States and those are the only folks that I know to be able to claim they hold commander-in-chief credentials.

Wake up people. HRC and her campaign are bordering on dilusional.

Mike, Toronto   April 25th, 2008 11:21 am ET

She has relevant experience with voting vor an unnecessary war and dodging sniper fire with elegance. Why shouldn't she be trusted with making important war decisions and with providing accurate reports?

LH, TX   April 25th, 2008 11:20 am ET

Indiana and North Caroline don't believe the hype! Hillary wants Obama to debate so she and the media can try and destroy him. Obama is a good and fair man who has the best interest of the people. Obama 08

Dan , TX   April 25th, 2008 11:20 am ET

Pull the trigger? Of course, she wants to prove she's tough. She's much more likely to pull the trigger in a borderline case than Obama is.

Obama would probably bring the entire world together in a consensus and act together with both toughness and moral authority. Do we really want someone to carefully think about things and make a case before taking action or do we want someone who just pulls the trigger on a gut feeling like Clinton or McCain.

Sarah in TX   April 25th, 2008 11:19 am ET

"If she has to pull the trigger, General Shelton and I know she'll pull it," – where's the quote of her saying a few years ago that she shoots and asks questions later? This is not the type of President I want!

"Hillary's experience is being with the President of the U.S. for 8 years. Laura Bush has the same qualifications, as does Nancy Regan. She has only the experience in New York, which she acheived by being the wife of Bill Clinton."

100% true. I spent 18 yrs w/ my parents b4 going to college... does that mean I can manage a business or do anything like them? Proximity is not experience!

Jamie   April 25th, 2008 11:19 am ET

Can someone please point out what her credentials are for being Commander In Chief?
I didn't see them anywhere in this article.
I haven't heard anything about them in this campaign... only the phony stuff about Bosnia and supposedly helping to broker peace in Ireland.

What a HUGE joke.

North Carolina and Indiana should be thanking Hillary for being able to exercise their right to vote. If the Obama supporters had their way, they would have been cheated out of the chance to have their say in this primary election.

I for one am happy to see all the support for her in these respective states and am enjoying having a chance to see them in the national spotlight as they are right now.

So, North Carolina and Indiana residence please show your appreciation by voting for Hillary in your primary's. She's on your side now and will be when she is our president next year.

One look at the way she has run her campaign should tell us all to run as far away from her as we can!! How in the world can we trust her with running the country? Where are these 200,000 jobs she has promised the people of New York when she was running for Senator??? ANOTHER LIE just to get elected!! She would be the one to start an all-out nuclear World War III and end all our lives. The only experience she has is serving tea as first lady (oh, wait, she had servants doing that for her too). SHE IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY AT ALL!!!

After the story came out a few days ago about how many generals were usung talking points that the current administration fed them, instead of telling the public what they actually were seeing on the ground in Iraq, I am a little concerned with Hillary thinking that we all should believe everything that these generals say. The question might arise as to what she is doing to fill their pockets, if not now, then if she were to become the president. Do we need to find out what line of business these former millitary officers are in today?

Clinton's ambition is unhealthy and dangerous for a President and commander- in-chief! Her real "abiding concern" is ego and
we wish it were more about the "content of her character".
Being a "workaholic is not a virtue, tired people make mistakes,
like approving the Iraq invasion.

The only reason Clinton and her staff are begging for another debate is that no one is really interested in her as a candidate any longer and no one turns out for her the way people do for Obama. She needs the visibility. It also doesn't cost her campaign any dollars.

The reason Obama is saying"no" is that he realizes the public has tired of debates....its time better spent in other forums where presidential policy can be talked of.

Please a Paxil for Hillary and 2 for Bill.

merle 7   April 25th, 2008 11:14 am ET

"I want the Iranians to know that if I'm the president, we will attack Iran," she said. "In the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them." – Hillary on ABC on Tuesday. I don't know about you but I don't want a commannder in chief that would go to war at a drop of a hat. I thought McCain was the warmonger sounds like Hillary is campaigning for the republicans here. Now I know what Obama was talking about when he stressed using GOOD JUDGEMENT! HILLARY SOUNDS DANGEROUS AS COMMANDER-IN- CHIEF

OBAMA08!

gerry   April 25th, 2008 11:14 am ET

Of course she'll pull the trigger, she already said she'd nuke Iran.

So which Hillary will have her finger on the trigger:

The angry Hillary
The remorsefull Hillary
The crying Hillary
The Hillary who ducks sniper fire
The misspoken Hillary
The deceptive Hillary

Quite frankly, Hillary has too many strange mood swings to trust being commander-in-chief.

This lady out and out scares me.

J. Mann   April 25th, 2008 11:14 am ET

The one character trait Sen. Clinton does not currently nor will ever have that is necessary to be the Commander-in-Chief is integrity. Additionally, what past experience qualifies her for this position? Can she claim being married to an ex-president and barely being a two-term (barely) senator? I for one will sleep no more soundly if she were to become president. If we think her husband tarnished the Oval Office, it will only be worse with her. Sen. McCain from an experience standpoint would be more qualified, but ......we will really be in trouble with his gunslinging mentality. Although Sen. Obama doesn't have a lot of Washington experience (this works out to his advantage, as he has the judgement and temperance to seek out and heed sage advice), I feel we would be in good hands. Last but not least, Obama appears to be an honorable and decent person. Can we say the same about Sen. Clinton?

Jeff - Schaumburg, IL   April 25th, 2008 11:13 am ET

"If she has to pull the trigger, General Shelton and I know she'll pull it,"

But will she pull a "real" trigger, or will she hand flowers to someone and call it "pulling a trigger"?

Hillary Clinton's judgement is obviously horribly flawed, and from Day One, we all know she can't be trusted.

As an independent...what makes her think that she has any Commander in Chief credentials...she never served in the military. Maybe she was working behind the scenes in closing down bases during the 90s in which case maybe that's what she considers experience.

As a side note, for all the HRC people who complain about Obama not having any experience...please remember that there once was a Gov from Arkansas that didn't have experience but he managed to get elected twice...hmmmm.

An Agnostic Democrat   April 25th, 2008 11:10 am ET

No matter how you dress her up or surround her with all the props, banners and decor, she "ain't" commander in chief material in style, substance or temperament. Her plan for Iran is less dipolmatic and more imperialistic and right-wing than George Bush and John McCain combined!!!

Hillary Clinton has very strong experience on her resume, she got 8 years of first lady, 8 years of senator, Wow,16-year ! It is a lots, during this 16 years what she has achieved in Medicare ? Zero !

The poor people were kicked out from the hospital before her husband took the office, she has 16-year timeframe and chance to make it right, well, 16-year later, we still have poor people got kicked out from the hospital. She took the money from lobbyist, put the Medicare reform in the trash can.

She got lots of supporters from her husband administration, they got the common goals-they 'all' want to return to white house. Other supporters are just her puppets, how many people were standing beside her during her scandals, and what she had done to those people – put them under the bus ! That is her !

Tubby The Tuba from Texas   April 25th, 2008 11:06 am ET

Hillary's experience is being with the President of the U.S. for 8 years. Laura Bush has the same qualifications, as does Nancy Regan. She has only the experience in New York, which she acheived by being the wife of Bill Clinton.

"If she has to pull the trigger, General Shelton and I know she'll pull it," Brigadier General John Watkins told a boisterous crowd in Asheville, a liberal enclave in more conservative western North Carolina.

This says it all. Funny thing is, she will opt to pull it even if she has a better alternative. But I am glad to know, this person knows who he is dealing with and he called himself complementing her.

Go figure.

Will someone let me know what commander-in-chief credentials does Sen Clinton has. Clinton called herself the "underdog". If she has to pull the trigger, General Shelton and I know she'll pull it," Brigadier General John Watkins told a boisterous crowd in Asheville, a liberal enclave in more conservative western North Carolina.
This is POLITICS (SMILE)

The planet grows smaller every single day. Aren't there enough fools out there all too willing to "pull the trigger" . Do we really need someone at the ready who hears phantom sniper fire. Someone who constantly reminds us that she is sleep deprived. Someone who seems to enjoy knocking back a boilmaker or two. Her hands on the trigger, I don't think so. We've had eight years of this "trigger happy" policy we don't need it again, the US can't take it and the world is getting fed up with it and us.

David   April 25th, 2008 11:02 am ET

Who is this silly woman kidding. she cameinto the race as the favourite and due to her lack of judgement she is now an underdog claiming to have the right credentials as the C-I-C, is she joking. I think it is such a shame that Amerians are even listening to this woman, who will tell even her own shadow lies and why is she asking for a debate if I were her opponent she will not get any if she wants to stay in the race she should not think anyone will help her run it the cheap way, the sound of her voice is seriously irritating now, i cant bear to listen to her for more than five minutes anymore, i wonder how those around her can bear the stench. what did she win that she is shouting about, if she had a fraction of the brains we thought she had should she not be in the lead and yet she talks about been electable. i hope you all can see what a no-brainer like hillary is causing not just America but the world as a whole, do you guys ever learn anything I thought you all are suppose to be enlightened, the office of the president should not be taken by bran but by brains and I hope you lot will use yours.

This woman scares the hell out of me. Can you imagine a person with a history of bad judgement and poor decision making being in a position of calling for a nuclear attack ??? Remember, she doesn't even read her briefings before making her hasty decisions. If she were to steal the nomination, we would all have to duck, and the American image in the world would be set back a further 100 years. How could people in PA be so blind as to give her an 8 % lead there. I still believe it was Republicans who voted for her there just to try to screw up the Democrats' chances of winning in November.

The US needs a very smart person of good judgement as Commander in Chief. That person is Barack Obama who will be a legendary President and Commander in Chief. No one since JFK has energized voters as he has done.

Yes we can ! Yes we can ! Yes we can !

Are you kidding me? As a retired military officer, I recall Hillary Clinton's utter contempt for military members. Her treatment of those serving in and around the White House while she was First Lady was despicable!
Now, she has the gall to say she's qualified to be Commander in Chief? Her past actions do not bode well for the US Military. There really are not any "qualifications" to being Commander in Chief – it comes with the responsibilities of being President.
I do not believe her sudden, campaign FLIP/FLOP about caring for the military veterans, etc. This is just another pitch to capture votes for her bumbling campaign.
If elected, she will finish off what's left of our military!

A status conference hearing is scheduled for April 25, 2008 in Los Angeles to set a trial date in Paul vs. Clinton. The court delayed setting a trial date back in February, but a new trial date is expected to be announced three days after the all important Pennsylvania primary.

California Superior Court Judge Aurelio N. Munoz ruled Paul's legal team can begin seeking depositions from a host of big names – including Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton – that allegedly were witnesses to an effort by the Clintons and top Democratic leaders to extract millions of dollars from Paul in illegal donations and then cover it up.

Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell is on the witness list in Paul v Clinton. He is a key witness and is going to be asked questions about money he failed to report.

How much longer will the media continue to ignore this case? It looks like the media is still hoping this case will go away, or they have been threatened from exposing this story.

I'd be acting bizzare too if I had this looming over my head. Maybe Governor Ed Rendell should be nervous too! No wonder he is such an ardent supporter of Hillary's, because his hands are dirty also! It is no surprise that many of the Clinton's former cabinet members who still have their integrity intact have defected!
BTW – I didn't vote in the Florida primary because I was told it didn't matter because it wouldn't count. I will however be voting in the General election! Obama'08

Interesting... commander in chief: BUSH – lied to get us in unncessary war (CLINTON – lied about personal Bosnian war experience); B -proficient in exporting American jobs (C -supported NAFTA and Columbian trade); B -disregard of American citizens economic woes (C – voted for stricter personal bankruptcy laws); B – spent the country into bankruptcy (C – spent campaign into bankruptcy)

Yes, Clinton does have commander in chief credentials...we're firing him (B) and not hiring her (C)...

Let's elect someone who would rather use diplomacy to solve disputes rather than send someone ELSE'S children to war. Perhaps if Chelsea Clinton were to be sent in the first wave, Hillary would show a little more restraint and cool the rhetoric.

Senator Clinton didn't read the reports before she voted for war. Senator Clinton voted to expand Presidential powers to the point where the Bill of Rights and Habeus Corpus are next to meaningless.
Senator Clinton has made it clear that she will not pull out of Iraq, will not support the front in Afghanistan, will put American troops in harms way in any other Middle-east conflict and particularly is looking forward to attacking Iran.
Senator Clinton has the support of Karl Rove.
Senator Clinton is a Republican in Democrat clothing.

It is refreshing to see that so many military men are willing to take orders from a woman. That is good to know.

However, I learned nothing from this article on exactly what makes Senator Clinton so qualified to be the Commander in Chief. As best I can tell, it is just an opinion.

Furthermore, I don't see the need for another debate. Is there any issue out there that hasn't been covered in the previous debates? I learned absolutely nothing new in the Pennsylvania debate. For the most part, during those debates, all we learned is that Senator Obama's and Senator's Clintons plans and views are very similar.

Well, she certainly had NO hesitation about thoughtlessly voting to send our sons and daughters into harm's way in Iraq. It was only after the debacle began to unwind that she commenced to waffle on her reasoning for the vote.

So in that sense, yeah, she'll clearly be happy to "pull the trigger." She's got a lot in common with the present Commander in Chief that way...

I believe that Hillary is the stongest candidate. She would be better than Obama. This country is going thru some difficulties at this point. We need someone who will win in November and get us out of this crippling mess that the Republicians have put us in. This is scary. I am continuing my support for Hillary. Obama is all talk and is not ready to walk the walk. The Republicans who are supporting him now only want it this way until they can vote McCain in come November. McCain comes with too much baggage. Not in this life time! Senator Clinton has made white women look so evil and coniving and untrustworthy. When she doesn't get the nomination she is going to make a "hostile work environment" for the Senators and others in the Democratic Party, she and Bill have already made American look truly untrustworthy and our great status in the world has just about vanished. She and Bill are so Republican it is a shame. They have made the Democratic Party look so disgusting it is a shame. She cannot be trusted. She is not worthy of Americas trust ever again and I believe that she will become a Republican again when she loses the nomination.

What presidential credentials. Hillary has proven herself to be untrustworthy, divisive, and selfish. She has no more credentials than anyone else running. People voting for her are either voting for Bill or against Obama. Voting for Bill is a joke-he is not the same person they remember-he appears to be unstable. So those of you voting hoping to get the same economy we had when he was in office had better think again-He's showing signs that his mind has decayed which means the real Bill is emerging-you can't trust him or his judgement. He being the invisible president will not work-he's not sound enough to pull it off anymore and Hillary is too emotional to have good judgement. All someone has to do is say something bad about her and we will find ourselves in another War. This time losing lives because another country doesn't like her pink dress.
If Hillary is the nominee-McCain will get my vote. I'd rather put up with his decaying mind that Hillary and Bill.

It is time for BArack Obama to WITHDRAW. The contest is so close, with Democrats virtually divided down the middle. It would be good for the party if Obama, who is very young and has years to learn (which he needs to do) to withdraw and let Hilary, who is far more capable at this point in life than he is, to run and win. It is irrational for him to hurt the party this way by staying in.

Jan Elpel   April 25th, 2008 10:38 am ET

The comment by Sen. Clinton that she would "obliterate Iran" if it attacked Israel is dangerous and immature, even more arrogant than remarks by George Bush.

It has never been the intention of the US to obliterate another country.
If this childish reaction reflects the insecurity of Sen. Clinton or her need to prove herself, she should not answer the White House phones at any hour.

Elaine, HK   April 25th, 2008 10:26 am ET

For the past few days, I have come across people asking "Why can't he (Obama) close the race?" Sound pretty funny. And there are plenty of sound reasons: He has actually closed the race since Feb. and it is just the Clinton dynasty refused to admit to their own failure. Despite claiming to have the most "experience" and past experience as first lady of US, she has demonstrated the most unpresidential and unreliable candiate of all time. Why didn't we ask the Clinton, "Why can't she close the race? since she is the Mrs Clinton, (ex-First Lady), NY Senator and with Bill Clinton and her strong backers behind her, WHY CAN'T SHE BE THE NOMINE? If she is so for the people of US, can't she see in her right sound of mind, that she is hurting their party chances in the Fall.

I personally feel that the Clinton campaign have got too far, too negative in this race. As for the Pennsylvania win, she should have won with a much bigger margin than the so-called 10 digits points by her side. Why? It is her family roots there and with the powerful machine behind her. With more than 20 digits ahead to the s0-called 10 digits, only the Clintons will say it is a clear answer from the voters that she is more electable.

I sincerely hope that the DNC will knock some senses into this deluded senator, that she will never be able to win this nomination.

As for Obama, he should continue to reach out to different groups of voters, get to know them and give them a chance to hear and see you. Continue with your hopes and solutions to them and bring them to understand you. Focus on your campaign and I believe that You and your whole team will be reward with the results you guys have wanted since Feb. Be positive towards your campaign.

And lastly, I am very sick of any more debates. Let get down to the real issues and problems.

Gary in Toronto   April 25th, 2008 10:25 am ET

The real story here is that she has now managed to outstrip John McCain in foreign policy gaffes on the campaign trail.

i) Insulting the people of Bosnia;
ii) Annoying the leaders in Ireland who actually negotiated the peace accords;
iii) Recklessly stating that the U.S. should extend its military commitments to cover any country in the middle east that Iran might attack;
iv) This is a good one. She told an insulting joke about the "former" Prime Minister of New Zealand in an interview. Turns out that this person is actually still the PM of New Zealand and the people there aren't amused.

She has no clue how to be a leader, look at her campaign, it is falling apart! She would do the same to the military. She already has actually. When she was the first lady, she treated the military members stationed at the white house like servants. They are there to preform military duties, not be the wait staff for the queen. I know 2 member that were there with her as first lady, and the stories were really bad, she cussed at several of them. CAN YOU BELEIVE THAT. And HRC is also a theif! When she left the white house, they was missing many american heirlooms that were not hers to take. The secert service had to go and retrive the items she took. I wonder why no major news company has never talked about this on the air. If I worked at CNN, that would be my first story. But in the end, the HILLBOTS are blind, and will not face the facts about HRC, she is a liar, plain and simple. She treats people badly, as stated above, and yet, people still vote for her. It is beyond me as to why you guys support her. Every argument you bring up, I am able to shoot several holes in it with facts, and yet you blindly support this woman. I WAS of the thinking that I should vote for whoever the DEM's nom, but not now, not this time. I will not let her in to the white house again. Even if it means shooting myself or cutting my foot off. You wacko HILLBOTS want to play the threaten game, well, we can too, and we out number you 2 to 1 so who will loose at the end of the day, you, the american people, and HRC will also loose, which would be a victory to me. Sorry, I just can't stand by and watch her destroy this great nation.

L   April 25th, 2008 10:21 am ET

I wish she would quick all this drama. Sleep deprived does matter when you trying to debate. There's nothing else to be discussed that haven't been discussed over, and over, and over again.

David   April 25th, 2008 10:19 am ET

Even if she had to pull the trigger under sniper fire!!!

Let's hope she does not have to do it after she is tried from a long day. You all remember what Bill said about her and long days.

She is making my side hurt from laughing so hard.

I have to post my comment to pastor Wright.
Yes, we have the freedom of speech.
We have the right to say what we want, but still it does not make the statement/speech right.
What is said is said, but the meaning is not always right.

One can talk hate and want to kill. This is freedom of speech.
But it is not right to kill.
People have difficulties to distinguish these two.

I'll go for a debate with Roland Martin and Chris Mathews as the moderators to even things out from the ABC hatchet job. Let's see her go one-on-three this time and get pummeled with irrelevant and semi-irrelevant comments for the first 45 minutes to throw her off her game.

IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS AND WITH A FIRM CONVICTION OF HER
DECISIVENESS, SENATOR CLINTON MADE A VERY POWERFUL
STATEMENT , OR A WARNING IF YOU WILL, AND TO IRAN SPECIFICALLY. tHAT IF iRAN ATTACKS ISRAEL , THE UNITED STATES WILL OBLITERATE IRAN , IF SHE IS COMMANDER IN CHIEF.. SHE MAKES IT CLEAR , THAT AS PRESIDENT, HER OPTIONS AND ALL CARDS ARE ON THE TABLE. THIS STATEMENT
IS A STIRRING CALL FOR ALL AMERICANS THAT OUR FOREIGN POLICY, OUR ARMED FORCES, AND ALL OUR RESOURCES,
TECHNOLOGY , SPACE AND NASA TECHNOLOGY WILL ALL BE MODERNIZED AND WILL, FIRST AND FOREMOST, SECURE OUR NATIONAL SECURITY , DEFEND AND PROTECT OUR BATION AGAINST ALL ENEMIES.. SHE IS THE ONLY CANDIDATE WHO
FROM THE BEGINNING SAW THE FORECLOSURE AND MORTGAGE CRISES AND SOUGHT TO PUSH FOR THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION TO HELP HOMEOWNERS. FOR EXPERIENCE:
SHE WAS FIRST LADY OF GOVERNOR bILL CLINTON, EVEN MORE
IMPORTANT, SHE WAS FIRST LADY TO A TWO TERM PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. AND HAS TRAVELLED AND MET AND TALKED WITH WORLD LEADERS.. OBAMA HAS NO SUCH EXPERIENCE.

General Shelton? Maybe you should do some more research. Either that or stay out of politics.

paul, nyc ny   April 25th, 2008 10:17 am ET

I agree. I think we need to look at their records and view them not as the press is ssaying to view them, or even others, but as they have shown themselves truly to be.

barack Obama has proven time in and time out that he is not a fighter. With Rev Wright, with Ayers, with his wife going after Hillary in the very beginning of the campaign, Barack has shown he does not have the ability to truly fight. Even though he voted for or against many more proposals as an senator in Illinois, the votes that he voted "present" for in sessions show that he can not and will not take a true stand. He can't admonish Rev Wright ... why? because of race. He will alienate the black vote that he consistently gets. He couldn't attack Hillary until another man did it because he didn't want to alienate the female vote.

With Hillary, she has fought and won battles throughout her life. As a woman, as a politician's wife, as a lawyer and as an advocate. She fought the republican right wing, she has fought against each Democrat who came out swinging, she even beat them in the first debate where they all ganged up on her. She did it with valor and with dignity.

Plus, my mom is just like her. Tough as nails when she has to be and sweet, fun, and loving when its required. Its time to get a woman in office to show the world that we can be tough yet good.

khma, San Jose, CA   April 25th, 2008 10:16 am ET

Hillary can never win in NC. If she can hold the Obama victory under 20% it will be a win for her. NC democratic voter registration is 40% black and that is without the newer registrations counted in. So Obama has a lest 32% of the vote already locked up if he pulls the normal 90 to 94 % of black voters. NC also is a major collage state and with Obama people signing up and pushing collage kids to the polls it could be a long night for Hillary. I have no problem with collage kids voting, as long as they are voting by issues and not for free tickets to some event.

Julie   April 25th, 2008 10:13 am ET

I dont want Obama as commander in chief! He seems to have his priorities confused. He speaks more highly of the criminals and terrorists and hate-mongers then he does America or the American people! Does he have any friends that . actually like America?

Denis   April 25th, 2008 10:13 am ET

Well Hillary Clinton would be better at it than Obama. With all that is being said again about the Rev Wright, it brings up important questions about Obama ability to make sound JUDGEMENTS.

After all why would an intelligent educated professional like Obama allow himself be influenced (mentored) by a man like that for over 20 years. He at first denied any knowledge of Wright's opinions then he acknowledged that he knew about them and heard them.

In full knowledge of Wright's opinions he places him into his campaign. If he is a true leader who is intellectually honest he would not have acted as a Politian that he is as INTELLECTUALLY DISHONEST. He would have taken the lead within his church and put a major effort into changing these attitudes that are racist to the majority of Americans and negative to the US.

Well Obama did not do anything to try to change the preaching of his Pastor and Mentor and therefore we have to conclude that he either believes as Wright does or he feels that these important issues are not important or that he is unintelligent, which he is not.

These issues are important to Americans and it demonstrates that OBAMA has poor JUDGEMENT and lacks CREDIBILITY.

If young voters, Blacks and educated (white and black folks) and rich Americans cannot appreciate the importance of this critical personality attribute which is necessary to be a President, then maybe they are not very intelligent or totally subjective in blindly following him.

mdg   April 25th, 2008 10:12 am ET

Brigadier General John Watkins said "If she has to pull the trigger, General Shelton and I know she'll pull it,"

Of course she will – she already publicly stated her intent to "obliterate: Iran!

I can picture her in another one of her "sleep-deprived" conditions, belting back a whiskey shot and brewsky and her chubby little finger reaching for the nuke button. Why? Because she's tough, she's a fighter, no guy is gonna make a fool of her again!

She may be perpetually sleep deprived but we aren't.! Wake up America – we can't afford to give the country and the rest of the world a 3rd season of The Clintons, An American Soap Opera.

Allan   April 25th, 2008 10:12 am ET

I don't trust that lying woman to have her finger on the trigger. World leaders are panicking at the outrageous and reckless warmongering comments she is making.

Speaking of itchy trigger fingers: She refused to answer the question, when was the last time you fired a gun? Was it pointed at Vince Foster's head?

Matt   April 25th, 2008 10:09 am ET

"If she has to pull the trigger, she will." Hillary is sounding more and more like a hawk and I'm not liking it one bit. And exactly who is going to pull the trigger against? Iran? North Korea? Syria? Now I see why she wants to get the troops out of Iraq as fast as possible, so she can start another war with another country.

Pull the trigger?   April 25th, 2008 10:09 am ET

Let's all hope that trigger needs to be pulled before 11pm or the bullets may be flying in the wrong direction. She has a problem remembering bullet flights, or the lack of, when she's tired. How can the American people trust someone who tells lie after lie. I think I would remember if I took my teenage daughter into a war zone and was barraged by sniper fire. Please Stop! Everyone just acts like her lies are not a big deal and to be expected. I, for one, would like a few years of believing the information coming from the White House. That is not going to happen with Hillary at the helm.

Jon   April 25th, 2008 10:08 am ET

I'd like to know what specific credentials she feels she possesses regarding being the commander-in-chief. Having a good voting record concerning veterans and saying she can "pull the trigger" really aren't leadership credentials for a commander-in-chief.

I am for Obama also. If Hillary is the nominee, I and lots of others will boycott this election. Barack could run as a 3rd party Independent and might be able to really pull it off. He will have been cheated out of the nomination, and he has lots of support, not just amoung blacks. Either way that would be a big chunk of the electorate away from Clinton or McCain. The MSM is now out to crucify him. They always saw him as a black man but pretended to support him but were looking for any reason to dicredit him. Blacks go through this on an almost daily bases. Smiles on the outside but inside racial prejudice. Held to a higher standard than whites, your life under a microscope. Covert racism.

Sen. Clinton has very few to say the least arguments to make about her 'commander-in-chief credentials. Being married to a President only takes you so far. She also claims that she based Iraq vote on her White House experience. Sen.Clinton says will in the White House she oppose NAFTA, but in her trancripts and book accounts say different. She's also used her link to the WhiteHouse as proof she is better equipped to handle our foreign policy, but she makes up fictious accounts of dashing from a plane ovesees under sniper fire. Last, but not least, she and her husband are undergoing a civil dispute (Clinton vrs. Peter Paul on a number of charges as a result of some collapsed insider donation deal gone bad; they both could be facing jail any day now.

A Proud Typical Ordinary American   April 25th, 2008 10:03 am ET

The Black vote is already a given and taken for granted in North Carolina. Need to look beyond that and get a real true picture of how NC and the rest of the "God Bless the USA" is going to vote in November.

While HRC will probably lose big in NC because of that, her real strength will be demonstrated in the non-black vote. If she can pull of a decent margin there, she'll have a better chance against McCain in November.

Tammy - KCMO   April 25th, 2008 10:03 am ET

These are Republican tactics. Why doesn't she move over to that party. I don't want to know who will push the button. I want someone with a backbone that is willing to learn to get along with these other countries and quit trying to make them over into the image of the US. That is what is harming our goodwill in other countries. They don't want to be like us. When are we going to learn to quit babysitting everyone and let them take care of themselves. We need to start spending time taking care of our own. If there was an actual threat to the US and not a "perceived threat" I think any of the 3 candidates would do what they need to do to protect us. All this statement does is make me dislike Clinton and her fear tactics all the more to the point if she is nominated I won't be voting for a Democrat.

North Carolina   April 25th, 2008 10:03 am ET

She does indeed "get it". She has been a tireless worker on behalf of all Americans for many years. Undecided voters should please check out her website. I had intended to vote for Edwards and was quite undecided for whom to vote after he dropped out of the race. Her credentials are very impressive, but not readily covered in msm format. North Carolina is fairly socially progressive but also financially conservative. We need a candidate who understands the economy and Sen. Clinton is that candidate. And she won't ever quit.

She speaks out of both sides of her mouth as she always does. About another debate, we are tied of all this bull and wish you would just get out of the race and lets start moving foward. As for being sleep deprived I thought she was at her best at 3 a.m. if she does get that call and makes the wrong decision will she blame it on being sleep deprived then? Also how many more days before she comes up with a tie to Indiana and N.C.. she seems to have a relative who was born in every state she goes to.

Her (and Obama for that matter) credentials are zero experience in anything that qualifies her to "pull the trigger". Pullig the trigger is the easy part!

What if she gets confused (Bosnia) again about a threat to US citizens and "pulls the trigger" repeatedly with nukes (the best way to "obliterate" a nation )? Does the term excessive force come to mind? The image scares the heck out of me most likely NATO members as well.

Obama is not electable.
Too much baggage for him to explain.

I want Universal Health Care.
I want the Democrats in office.

President Clinton and Senator Clinton love all Americans.
The African Americans probably more than any other President of the United States.
President Clinton is certainly not a racist. It's rediculous to think that.
His office could have been on 5th Avenue or Central Park, but instead he decided to move his office to Harlem.

Please stop bashing the Clintons. The media is not covering them properly. It really hasn't been fair for both of these guys.

Making Obama the nominee will turn out to be distater for the democratic party. Obama is doomed to lose the election having his closet full of items that Republicans will love to explore. He is basically labelled as unpatriotic so is hiw wife. Not only Obama is bad for the party, after losing this election, his career will be over for good.

Clinton is the only candidate who is tough enough and bold enough to bring the country to where it was before Bush. Obama on the other hand is a meek and timid candidate for presidency. Imagine the American Army under Obama, it sounds ridiculous.

Senator Clinton is not worthy of being Commander and Chief. Senator Clinton and her husband Bill have served in the White House for 8 years and shamed the Country and have made the World look at America as a shameful country. They both are liers, cheats and they both are very dishonest, untrustworthy and will do it again if she if lucky enough to get back into the White House. What about Watergate, What about Monica L. What about the impeachment of Bill, What about Travelgate, What about the corrupt funds that they've gotten from corrupt people for every campaign his and hers and the illegal funds for their Library? What say you on these issues. No one in the media are addressing these issues because they want her to get the nomination so that McCain with his corrupt self can win the General election.

I am so sick of hearing this same old tired line. What credentials? Bill Clnton's tarnished ones? You let the Bosnia lie go as an example of poor Hillary mispeaking. Then you play Wrights comments over and over and every instance of Obama mispeaking is construed by MSM as a lie. The woman is pendering to a segment of the rabble that needs you at CNN and other media outlets to form their opinions for them.

Marshall in Nebraska   April 25th, 2008 9:55 am ET

What credentials? Having a sham of a marrige to the President is not the credentials of a Commander-in-Chief. If it was there should have been about 40 previous First-Ladies who should have been president already.

Nice try.

I have had friend in the military (I am a military retiree) who worked in the Whitehouse during the Clinton Administration and said they were treated like dirt by Hillary, when she actually paid attention to them. Most of the time she ignored them. I also know about 50 current military member will will get out or retire before they serve under another Clinton Whitehouse.

Now that is called motivating the troops.

Alyn   April 25th, 2008 9:54 am ET

Commander in Chief credentials???? Ummm......what???

ANOTHER debate??? Ummmmm....PLEASE no!!!!

Hillary likes debates.....because that all she REALLY knows how to do!
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT....SMEAR SMEAR SMEAR.....LIE LIE LIE......but get NOTHING done!

Is it another sniper fire?

yem   April 25th, 2008 9:54 am ET

Obama should never debate hillary again. She is insane. Is she going to ask him if he needs a pillow? Out of desparation she will say and do anything. It scares me to death to think of her as commander in chief .God save America. America will go to war in all fronts to show that she is tough. She is another mcCain. What is the difference. I will take and trust obama as commander in chief.

Chuck   April 25th, 2008 9:53 am ET

Let me address it this way. What is America's number 1 issue with Bush? Is it not that he consistantly lied about Iraq, which put us into a war, that ended up being a major cause of our economic woes? The initial problem was his lies correct? She has made so may fopa's and misstatements that you can no longer count them? Sniper fire for me was the worst. As a retired military man this is a cardinal sin for us military guys, something that takes her out of the pool of potentiality. She has run a campaign that if full of lies, misleading statements, incomplete statements and spin, thus she is worse than Bush. Why? Because she is not even in office yet and she has made the decision to lie already. Sorry, you have failed the Commander in Chief test Sen Clinton.

Ron, TX   April 25th, 2008 9:52 am ET

"If she has to pull the trigger, General Shelton and I know she'll pull it," Brigadier General John Watkins told a boisterous crowd

Isn't that the truth! She sure pulled the trigger on Iraq! She's just itching to pull the trigger on Iran, too, apparently.

Sharon   April 25th, 2008 9:52 am ET

I don't think we need a Commander in Chief that is as unstable as Hillary. Her mood swings, her bouts of anger make me very nervous if she were the one to answer the phone a 3AM. She does not have the credentials, or the resume to take on this job. She lied about the Bosnia sniper fire, she has run a very negative campaign, she has financial problems in the campaign, she lies about having the popular vote, what else will she lie about in the White House. We have had 8 years of lying with this admin and Bill lied while president, why would we want to do it again. Bill keeps saying he balanced the buget while in the white house, but neglects to say how much we were in debt when his term was up. What has she done while in the Senate, voted for the war and still is committed to win that war.

HillarywillGoHell   April 25th, 2008 9:51 am ET

I can not stand this old woman how desperate can one be the American people don't seem to want her to be their commander-in-chief go back to your old job.

EXPERIENCE PLEASE!   April 25th, 2008 9:51 am ET

That is the point! She has the Experience. Who will Obama bring along, Rev. Wright and Michelle Obama?

We need experience and strength. With experience comes wisdom. With wisdom comes good solid decision making. Not speeches.

Clinton 08!

Hillary, Liar from Day 1   April 25th, 2008 9:51 am ET

This is great news for Hillary. Now she can brag about dodging sniper fire in Bosnia and how she saved Private Ryan all by herself, and that one time when she saved President John Adams from the dangeous waters in the Boston Tea Party, and that one extreme time when she ran bare foot to Iraq and secured all the WMDs then took them to a secured location before tossing herself over those WMDs and took the brunt of the force.

Go Hillary Go!!!!

Why does the Democratic party continue to nominate liberal candidates when the majority of Americans are centrists?

Praetorian, Fort Myers   April 25th, 2008 9:50 am ET

It is impressive that she has the endorsement of a former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs–and a bevy of Generals testifying as to her judgement, decision making, and capabilities as Commander-In-Chief.

If Obama...can't swing some armed services support–he could be sunk. So far–Obama only has a few malcontent veterans –who happen to have a web site–and none of them were in highly responsible/accountable commander billets.

Herman LA, CA   April 25th, 2008 9:50 am ET

Hillary can tout all she wants we don't want her or Bill back in the white house. Hillary is a divider and will not bring this country together just look at how she is running her campaign it is very dysfunctional and more that 10 million dollars in debt.

joseph   April 25th, 2008 9:50 am ET

I agree that senator Hillrod will be the best commander in chief just as she did with Bill in Somalia and Rwanda.

Tim, Colorado Springs   April 25th, 2008 9:50 am ET

What credentials? Hillary has zero executive leadership experience. She has never been a governor, cabinet minister, or mayor; never been CEO of any company or non profit organization; never run so much as a dog catchers office. Since when does watching your husband perform a job count as personal experience?

Jeanine G   April 25th, 2008 9:48 am ET

great...a General has confidence she can pull a trigger....just what we need after 8 yrs.

I'm looking for more talk, and less trigger pulling on the world stage...THAT...not more muscle flexing...is what we need.

Senator Clinton cannot and I repeat cannot be trusted. She is a lier and she is corrupt. Her husband is a lier, cheat and he is corrupt. They both along with their campaign staff are corrupt and liers and they all are trying to destroy the Democratic Party. They have disgraced America when they were in the Oval Office before for 8 years and they are not talking about all of the corrupt people that they've taken money from like for their Library and Her campaign. They don't want to talk about Watergate, Travelgate, Bosnia and Monica L.
There are a host of other things that they've lied about and corrupt people that they've taken money from but the media along with the Clintons won't talk about that!

Here we go! Hillary – pack it up! Your commander in chief is great considering how brave you were with the sniper fire!

If you were so great – you would be ahead of Obama!

Now I see why some of the democrate were asking for you to drop out – you are destorying our party!

We know Lanny Davis is trying to sue Howard Dean because the debate in North Carolina – is not going to work!

You had 21 debates and you are still far behind.

yawn, more beating the war drum. Is this what America really wants? More war? It's time for America to stop flexing our muscles. If we don't pull out soon we will be bankrupt and go the way of the USSR. The terrorists have us draining our funds to fight a war w/ no borders that we can't win.

Peter Kavanagh   April 25th, 2008 9:47 am ET

Great is she going to tell some more of her sniper stories ?
I'm reading this morning that the 10 million she has in debt doesn't include the 5 million she loaned herself the way it should .
Why Can't she stop lying to everybody ?

No more lies .

have you been watching the commander in chief series for inspiration?
i regret to inform you its been axed.

Steve   April 25th, 2008 9:46 am ET

Sen. Clinton has exactly zero credentials to be commander in chief. The only experience she has over Sen. Obama or Sen. McCain is she knows where the White house staff stores the silverware and the coffee service. Give us a break; would you please? Drop out now and give the presumptive nominee, Sen. Obama a chance to prepare for November.

For Obama   April 25th, 2008 9:45 am ET

Yeah debate about NON issues?? Like a initiation beating, thinking Obama doesnt know what he is getting into so we have to prep him to be like one of the Clintons. No thanks! Obama doesnt have to agree to anything. Clinton just likes to attack people and yeah I believe in real life she will pull the trigger on anyone and anything that gets in her way. She is like a mobster. Its the history of her can be protrayed as a mobster movie. Hits on people, money laundering, lies and deciet all rolled up into one.

And people are voting for her? I am amazed at how ignorant this country really is. Other countries have more brains than the ones voting for her.

Diane   April 25th, 2008 9:45 am ET

She can't even run a campaign, how can she be POTUS?

Peter   April 25th, 2008 9:45 am ET

. . .Hillary touts her credentials of having more war experience. Yet she runs a fear mongering ad showing Bin Laden, but he is still able to roam around because SHE voted to go to war in the wrong place, along with George Bush. Bin Laden doesn't live in Iraq.

Obama 08.

Trish- PA   April 25th, 2008 9:44 am ET

What a joke! So Clinton thinks that getting flowers and a poem read to her in Bosnia is experience?? Oh, wait. What about the sniper fire? LMAO!!! What a nightmare this woman is! She lies, she cheats, she is about to be sued (Clinton vs. Paul). She can't raise enough money to cover her expenses. Yeah, that's who I want to manage my economy!!! WOW! If she steals and lies and cheats her way into the presidency, you people who voted for her will get what you deserve. Another four years or maybe even 8 years of HELL!

AJ, IL   April 25th, 2008 9:44 am ET

Here we go again! Hillary is touting her commander-in-chief credentials. What commander-in-chief credentials ?!?! Hopefully Hillary is not including being under sniper fire in Bosnia as credentials?!

Mainstream media do your job! Hillary needs to be vetted for such claims!

Susan MO   April 25th, 2008 9:44 am ET

Hillary is experienced and very intelligent. She wish her well in getting the nomination.

Yes, we did think about Obama, but decided not to want him to be president after the critical remark to the people of Pennsylvania. We need a president who is 'for all' Americans.

Hillary 08 :)

Peter, DC transplant   April 25th, 2008 9:43 am ET

Clinton, in her self-hype, is omitting one MINOR fact... the constitution requires that a president has congressional approval for a declaration of war. So all this bull about Clinton having the huevos to "pull the trigger"? Its just that... nonsense. Unless, of course, you want another president like Bush... which, after her fear and terror driven add she released in PA, is looking more and more like a reality. Seriously America, are you buying the trash she's feeding you? No American president, who by the way sits on top of the most powerful armed services in the world, will not have the guts to do what is necessary, IF it is necessary. The question is, who do you trust to determine whether it is necessary? The ballsy woman with a chip on her shoulder and something to prove? Or the responsible one that has shown his moderate and intelligent approach to problems? One other question for you... Which one of the two candidates actually read the intelligences reports on Iraq? Wake up America, we're not stupid and we shouldn't let Clinton treat us like we are.

Janet   April 25th, 2008 9:43 am ET

I am glad to see that CNN and contributors have become a little more objective in their postings-except for Cafferty File, most blogs are open to frank and objective discussion and have cleaned up the language-thanks, CNN, maybe we can have fair and intelligent discussions after all–for those of us "undecideds". This is not a popularity contest–just a vote for the Leader of the free world!

joyce   April 25th, 2008 9:42 am ET

hillary you are one sick ====/ you have lost so do our country a favor and get lost. who care what these people say for you. you have never been in the millatary and you are not exper. i was for you and you have campaigned so stupid, chained my mind, you can't manage a piss aint. i will go obama and all of ne arkansas has become to hate you

Peter   April 25th, 2008 9:42 am ET

Well new Rasmussen tracking poll today, shows Hillary has not gained ANY momentum at all. Obama still leads with a significant margin national. Also, Obama has gained 4 supers since PA primary, Hillary 1. Her arguments are just BS. Obama will win, every super knows this, but hillary stays in the game because she is so desperate to win, which she has no chance to do.

Everyone in the Democratic party knows that republicans and independents HATE hillary, Independents are important to seal the general election and we need someone who can attract them. Obama does that.

Clive   April 25th, 2008 9:42 am ET

What is the difference between Hillary Clinton, John McCain and George Bush? Nothing! They are all war mongers. Hillary is such an Lyying deceiving woman! Preaching against the war in Iraq while voting for it. Telling Americans that she bring changes and will create a great foreign policy while stating that she is going to "Obliterate" Iran a sovereign country?. Wow! Is she for real or what??

Tricia   April 25th, 2008 9:42 am ET

This woman worries me. Now she's manic. Imagine her at an international conference when she doesn't get her way. She'll start hurling irrelevant insults. She'll be laughed at and make a mockery of America. Compare her with other woman leaders past and present. She is simply not the right material.

Clinton said last week that we would "OBLITERATE IRAN"   April 25th, 2008 9:42 am ET

Do not let this woman push the button. She is a Republican in sheep's clothing!

Willis, Texas   April 25th, 2008 9:42 am ET

Shameless! This woman is a total mess and now she is parading a bunch of "senile old men" around to play in her imaginery world!

The woman is bipolar!

Clinton said last week that we would "OBLITERATE IRAN"   April 25th, 2008 9:41 am ET

This woman is nuts. I am sorry but I am angry at the media for not talking about her hot button comment in Iran.

I am tired of being the World Police. She is no different than a Republican at this point in my mind

LifeLongDemocrat   April 25th, 2008 9:40 am ET

CNN: fix your page. You have a script problem and it takes forever to view the pages. Thanks

Micheal   April 25th, 2008 9:40 am ET

Every time Hillary Clinton touts her commander-in-chief credentials, I think about her Bosnia comments.

becky   April 25th, 2008 9:40 am ET

Hillary voted for the war. Hillary lied about it. She just spit in the face of my brother who is Iowa National Guard and the 4,000+ that we have lost, and this General has the nerve to stick up for her. I wonder how his men feel today!

Patricia in Las Vegas   April 25th, 2008 9:39 am ET

Only if the credentials required are arrogance, dishonesty, and nastiness. Additionally, I find CNN having a Clinton ad for donations on their politics home page to be extremely offensive.

J. McKinney   April 25th, 2008 9:39 am ET

We DO need Clinton, to get us out of this mess and get the country whole again. I hope NC can come to it's senses enough to vote her in in this state. Being black is not credential enough to lead the US. We also need experience, not just fancy talk.

Smiley from Conyers, GA   April 25th, 2008 9:39 am ET

Enough with the debates already. Let's just get this thing over with so we can make sure we get back in the White House!

SHAME ON YOU CNN!!!!!!!!!!

AND OF COURSE YOU WON'T POST THIS.

Sue   April 25th, 2008 9:38 am ET

Ed Rendell stated on Larry King that there will be "Christmas goodies" for him if HRC wins. I wonder how much she has bribed these guys with too. Sleeping with a president does not qualify you to be commander in chief. That would make me a chef, and I am certainly not.

Billarys it is me MOnica   April 25th, 2008 9:37 am ET

ohh Billary" as usual running on someone else experience..........
first bill
then the generals (although she dismissed them last time when she was asked about pulling out of Irak)

what a joke, does she think people are 'dumb."?
has she paid the vendors yet?
has she paid her staff?
how is that debt going?
liar liar liar

Joyce in Florida   April 25th, 2008 9:37 am ET

Yes, you do that Senator Clinton. You are the only candidate who can bring our country around. There should be a debate in North Carolina. As always, you will win that one too. Senator Obama is just running away from tough decisions. And, people expect him to run our country? I THINK NOT. I sincerely hope the voters of North Carolina wake up and choose the best candidate. AND THAT IS HILLARY CLINTON!!!! Please keep up your tenacity and hard work and in the end we will look foward to seeing you in the White House as our President. GO HILLARY 08!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jim-Minnesota   April 25th, 2008 9:37 am ET

Go Hillary, Our best prepared to be Commander and Chief

Donald from SC   April 25th, 2008 9:36 am ET

And that is the porblem. She would pull the trigger before knowing what she was shooting at. Commander-in-thief!

Charles   April 25th, 2008 9:36 am ET

I find it hard to believe this for the simple fact that when told to read the reports as to the Iraq war she didnt and then gave the current President the authorization to go to war. We need a President not only with experience but with the judgement to lead on "Day One".

Jim-Minnesota   April 25th, 2008 9:35 am ET

Go Hillary, our next Commander and Chief.

LifeLongDemocrat   April 25th, 2008 9:35 am ET

Let's end this and go for a Clinton/Obama ticket. This will be the only winning ticket.

PA   April 25th, 2008 9:34 am ET

How can the military have respect for her when she has lied about running from sniper fire and they have lost their friends to sniper fire?

Trust in leaders is core to the military. Do they want a Commander and Cheif who lies for votes?

Greg   April 25th, 2008 9:34 am ET

Hillary the Movie.com will show that she is not capable of running this country. She is not capable of running her own campaign. Bill Clinton and Hillary are out for more financial gain.

Andy   April 25th, 2008 9:33 am ET

She wants yet another debate where she can lie, fabricate and pretend the facts aren't the facts, and then Obama has to spend most of his time correcting her "misspoken" words. I've seen enough. We need change, not the see-saw Bush/Clinton mess we are in now. Obama campaigns on what is important....she does a Vegas stand up show.

Go Obama!

Dan in CO   April 25th, 2008 9:33 am ET

That trigger finger must be pretty itchy, considering her Iran comments.

Keith   April 25th, 2008 9:33 am ET

This is a clear difference between Clinton and Obama! She will fight for America while Obama will be trying to set up talks. He was against a war that was united in a time where America was attacked on it's own soil!

Marc in DeKalb, IL   April 25th, 2008 9:32 am ET

A delegation of retired generals... who have never seen her in a military position (barring corkscrew landings in Bosnia)... attesting to her "credentials" as a Commander-in-Chief?

... sure, makes as much sense as just about anything else she says. I don't buy it for a second, she has a penchant for exaggeration that extends to pure falsehood when necessary... but at this point, I'm so shellshocked from repeated lies that another feather in the cap of deceit doesn't phase me in the slightest.

Enjoy your potential political career, retired generals, but remember: Patronage jobs only come if your candidate wins.

Bukky   April 25th, 2008 9:32 am ET

HOW MAANY FREAKIN DEBATES COULD THERE BE.... omg THIS WOMAN IS PLAYING THE NATION FOR FOOLS

Tim   April 25th, 2008 9:32 am ET

She doesn't have any commander in chief credentials. She can't even run a business. Just look at her campaign. She had no plans to go beyond super Tuesday. She has left a trail of unpaid bills and is still in debt. If she were a company, the shareholders would have asked for her resignation. Also, the frontrunner does not need to debate. Ask Senator Clinton why she made she refused to debate when she was the fruntrunner for NY?

Candi   April 25th, 2008 9:31 am ET

Hillary a debate would be fine, but if we are going to hear issues on Rev Wright and all other issues that don't relate to this campaign then NO. We are tired of hearing you squeak and sqeel. Hillary just do you camapign work and leave the debate alone. What and who would be the persons asking the question? Your clan as like the other debate?

Angus McDugan   April 25th, 2008 9:30 am ET

How does being Bill's wife, serving tea and cookies, and lying qualify her to be president?

Max   April 25th, 2008 9:30 am ET

Senator Obama has the backing of SEVERAL high ranking military
officials including Colin Powell. They obviously think that he is capable
of "pulling the trigger". Aren't ALL presidents capable of pulling it?
Senator Obama has better judgment on when and where to pull it.
Hillary voted to pull it in the wrong place.

Obama 08.

Jim   April 25th, 2008 9:30 am ET

Let's just look at her track record:

She's pulled the trigger on voting for Iraq already. That's terrific CIC material. NOT.

She already says she'll "obliterate Iran" if it attacks Israel. Just so happens she was talking to some Jewish federation, I am sure. Great policy there. Let's just start the countdown to WW3 why don't we.

What is she going to do at 3AM: call Mark Penn her pollster to figure out what to say to Abudinajad?

Brattleboro, VT   April 25th, 2008 9:27 am ET

Commander in chief of Bosnian SNIPERS? Ha ha ha ha! LIAR!!

ANTI CLINTONS   April 25th, 2008 9:26 am ET

She already pulled the trigger! she has told the country she sould pull the troops out of Iraq even if the military generals told her not to! She wouldn't listen to anyone except her self absorbing greed! she is dangerous to this country!

She has less experience than Obama in state and federal government. A vote for this killer is a vote for death!.
