Obama picks up superdelegate

Bingaman endorsed Obama Monday.
Bingaman endorsed Obama Monday.

(CNN) - New Mexico Sen. Jeff Bingaman announced Monday he'll cast his crucial superdelegate vote for Barack Obama.

“To make progress, we must rise above the partisanship and the issues that divide us to find common ground. We must move the country in a dramatically new direction," Bingaman said in a statement released by the Obama campaign. “I strongly believe Barack Obama is best positioned to lead the nation in that new direction.”

Bingaman is one of the party's nearly 800 superdelegates who will decide which candidate wins the Democratic nomination. Clinton's current superdelegate lead over Obama is now just over 20, though more than 300 have yet to announce who they will support.

The superdelegates are slowly but surely putting Hillary on notice. Who's is going to verbally tell Hillary it's over or will she recognize her well is empty.

Rev Wright actually said that his enemy is not , Louis Farrakhan, but God?

LF is not my enemy, he did not put shackes on me...did not enslave me... DID NOT make me the color that I am.

the implication is the enemy is white folks... and in the last example, the enemy is?? God?

How comes no one talks about Sen. Clintons alleged affair with her aid Ms. Huma Abedin. I would like to know whether it is true or not. There is nothing wrong about it. But I think the American people deserve to know the truth.

Those polls are not reality. The polls had them tied in PA and she won by almost ten points. I think people are telling the pollsters what they want to hear. That is why they keep getting it wrong. Obama will be the nominee.

Thank you Senator. Now we just need the others to do the same to get this thing over and done with. In the meantime Hilary, why don't you just jump in the truck you keep talking about, have a beer, and ride off into the sunset. Oh and take your lying, cheating husband with you.

Do the smart thing. Vote OBAMA '08! Unfortunately, Hillary's supporters are uneducated, therefore they don't know what the "smart" thing is!

Senator Clinton has said that superdelegates should vote their conscience. . .and not vote for a candidate as a reflection of the popular vote.

But every time Senator Obama picks up a superdelegate from a state that voted for Clinton, her supporters whine and cry, "Boo hoo. You are sexist. You are undemocratic."

The problem is that the Clinton "the end justifies the means" campaign is a major turn-off to those of us who have to endure the exact same type of endless spin and lies from the current administration.

In any event, everytime a superdelegate chooses Obama, the odds of a Clinton steal becomes less and less likely. Amen

Do you think it is possible that this man just sat down, thought it out, and decided who would be the better president....just like a superdelegate is supposed to? How is it that Clinton supporters can expect and encourage superdelegates for months to vote their hearts and then be so critical when someone does? Amazing.

So much for the argument from all those superdelegates who switched from Hillary to Barry, because he won their state's primary/caucus.

In November, it won't matter who got the most delegates but who can get more votes than McCain. No one really knows cause no one has voted yet. Hopefully all these superdelegates are making a wise informed decision that will lead their candidate to victory. If not, then their electorate should seriously consider their judgement when they're up for re-election.

    God Bless/Help America

The new direction is one payer health care and a European Socialist style of welfare state! One with high taxes, high fuel cost, restricitve regulation, and privlage for only those with title or wealth!

What a fool. For some strange reason, the Democrats continually insist on supporting weak Presidential candidates. Add Obama to the list.

You guys who say "welcome aboard" are the most annoying people on this blog. It's your little chance to be arrogant and act like you were the first to support Obama. You remind me of those kids in school who always claimed to like a band before they became famous.

    Another smart superdelegate.
The problem is CNN and other networks keep saying this race is close when in fact it is not. Considering 90% of the vote is in, she has no relistic chance of catching up. The superdelegates will not go against the will of the people. They do not want to see the democratic party ripped apart and riots in the streets. Because that is exactly what would happen if the superdelegates go against the will of the people.

  24. Blue collor white man, and proud of it

It is time for the Republican-controlled Media to give this Wright controversy some fairness and enquire of Hillary Clinton and her surrogates the following:

Is it true that, (1) Hillary surrogate, Congresswoman Shiela Jackson Lee, is also a devotee of Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright; that he"s been preaching at her home church, where she is actively involved, annually for the past 15 years and has an open invitation to return, and, that she sat in the pews for his visits and did not bat an eye?

Is it true that (2) Hillary surrogate, Rev. Marcia Dyson was not only a longtime member of Trinity United Church of Christ but also still considers Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright her pastor? That Rev. Marcia Dyson"s seminary education, in part, was sponsored by Trinity UCC and encouraged by Rev. Wright? And was it not at Trinity were she first met her husband, Rev. Dr. Michael Dyson, who"s been very vocal in his defense of Rev. Wright.?

And, lastly of Hillary Clinton, that if Rev. Wright would not have been her Pastor, then why did she and Bill when going through Impeachment, turn to Rev. Wright for Prayer and Support and invite him to the White House? These things should be asked and answered.
