Obama and Clinton are locked in a dead heat.

(CNN) — For the fifth straight day, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are statistically tied in Gallup's national tracking poll, the latest indication the Democratic stalemate shows no signs of ending four months after the primary season began.

Clinton holds a one point lead over Obama in Tuesday's tracking poll — a statistical tie, given the poll's 3 point margin of error. In the last five days, the two candidates have either been exactly tied or separated by only one point.

That trend marks a clear departure from the weeks before the Pennsylvania primary, during which Obama almost consistently held a wide lead over Clinton. Meanwhile, the five-day tie is one of the few times all year in which the two candidates have been deadlocked for more than two days.

I love the wisdom of the "Uncle Sam" posts.

This one was too complex for the smart and educated Obama supporters to grasp… so I am reposting it to give them another crack at informed reasoning.

Uncle Sam April 29th, 2008 1:45 pm ET

True believers in an Obama presidency are prepared to support their candidate regardless of the growing number of questions being raised about him. They would have us believe that everything we need to know about Barack Obama can be found on his website or in his autobiography. Only what Obama tells us about himself is to be believed. Anything else is a manufactured political distraction. So what are you going to believe - the Obama script or your lying eyes?

Change you can believe in…….change I can believe in…….

anne in OK   April 29th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

Clinton supporters,

Don't you ever ask yourselves why the GOP is running ads against Obama? They want Hillary to win the nomination. Then all the skeletons Obama has kindly left undisturbed in her closet will come toppling out. Between her confrontational personality and her legacy of lies and scandals, she is simply not electable. If you want to end Bush policies, it's time to let go of your racial fears and embrace Obama as the Democratic candidate.

obambisux   April 29th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

Wow, it'd be interesting to see what the difference would be if the media did it's job for the better part of the past year and actually released the true information along time ago about the messiah-wannabe, BHO.

Ready for Change   April 29th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

Bonn………… the Clintons didnt seek out Rev. Wright for anything, they had a prayer breakfast at the White House, which they do every year, and hundreds of religious people from all over the country get invited.
That's how Reb Wright ended up in those photos. The Clintons did not even know him, or I'm sure he would not have been invited.

Lynn   April 29th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

Isn't strange how Obama is "angry" today and not yesterday about Rev. Wright's comments? It was only last night the panel on CNN strongly suggested that Obama has to show anger in an attempt to make this debacle go away. I hope Americans are not so naive.

obama is the greatest…hillary is a liar

Danny in Pittsburgh   April 29th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

There's no accounting for the general lack of intelligence of the American people…as an ad writer, I'm constantly reminded to "dumb down" my messages to a 7th grade mentality.

Not because that's ALL that American's are…but because that's where the AVERAGE lies. A national 7th grade mentality.

Hillary Clinton's base, her constituency is far more representative of the American's bringing down the bell curve. THIS is not a criticism–every person deserves to be heard—however, don't we think it's about time we tried to elevate the game of our leadership? Don't we think it's time we demanded more serious insight from every American?

I want someone smarter than most of us. I want someone who doesn't feel the need to resort to the same old, same old to get things done. I want a leader who represents what we could be one day. I don't want to have a beer with the President–I want him or her to represent our better Angels–to be a beacon of hope instead of fear, fear-mongering or blatant pandering to our more animal instincts.

Because things AREN'T getting done, folks…and no matter how smart or dumb you are–America KNOWS something is deeply broken here.

Electing the same kind of people for the same failed reasons and somehow expecting things to CHANGE…well? That is the height of ignorance.

Hillary Clinton and John McCain are, sadly, more of the same. More of what got us here in the first place. Wake up, people. Before it's too late. Hope is possibility, you know.

J. McKinney   April 29th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

Bon writes:………"The Clintons sought out Rev. Wright's counseling during the Monica Lewinsky ordeal. Surely the Rev. can't be that bad……can he????"

Where did you get that idea, Bon?? The Clintons sought out Billy Graham for counseling. I think one instance was found where Clinton had his pic taken with Wright at some sort of meeting, just as Clinton has had his pic taken with thousands and thousands of people. Doesn't mean he even knew who Wright was, and certainly not that they were even acquaintances, let alone friends.

Anna, SW Missouri   April 29th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

Nothing like picking and choosing which poll to use to make sensational headline. Why not use the Rasmussen Reports Poll that shows that Barack Obama is ahead 49 to 41 and has maintained that consistantly for a few weeks? Why not include the following information from Rasmussen Reports?—–

"Obama’s ratings are now 52% favorable and 45% unfavorable. His numbers are improving among Democrats.

For Clinton, the reviews are 45% favorable, 54% unfavorable"

Al, Sacramento Ca   April 29th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

We all know independents vote Republican! There is nothing independent about that.

Its funny how the Obama supporters say the election is over but neither can Obam reach 2025 delegates so let the last nine states vote and beginning of June one of the two will have to drop and let the superdelegates do their job.

Am I sensing panic from the Obama people??

THE TIDE IS TURNING!!!

Thank you PA voters, Gov. Easley, and Rev. Wright

Wynter (NH)   April 29th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

Obama just made a fatal mistake with his handling of Rev. Wright. His actions over the past few months on the issue of Rev. Wright have run from Denying there was a problem, through Denouncing his words, to now just plain Upset over the words his Mentor has said about him.

Pick something and stick with it, Obama! Is he your Mentor, your Religious Campaign leader or just your version of Bill Clinton? Your actions in this matter show that you just don't have a handle on your campaign.

Simply saying,
Wynter

FINALLY   April 29th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

Given enough time his own words will continue to show people what he really stands for and bring his number even lower. Either Clinton will come out ahead or McCain will win the Presidency over him. Either way, Obama has no chance of being the next President's as more people see him for who he is truly is.

Quinn   April 29th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

Gallup is the ONLY poll where Hillary is close.

Rasmussen has Obama up 8 and all of the others have him up at least 3. The RCP average is Obama +5.

The only math that matters right now does NOT look good for Hillary!

There is no legitimate path to the nomination, but because the Clinton's are such gangsters…she can slways steal it!

I can't believe that some people still want a Bush/Clinton family dynasty led by such crooked people. We may as well be in Cuba!

Obama 08!

HILLARY WILL LOSE!!!!!—BUT THE PROBLEM IS THAT SHES TRYING TO DESTROY OBAMA'S CHANCE OF WINNING BECAUSE SHE WANTS TO RUN IN 2012.THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE FOR HER.THIS IS ABOUT POWER!!! I'LL TELL YOU SOMETHING ELSE ALSO.AT THE END OF THIS SHE WILL NOT ENDORSE HIM EITHER,AND HER EXCUSE WILL BE BECAUSE MICHIGAN AND FLORIDA WAS NOT HANDED TO HER.THE SCARY THING IS SHE MAY ACTUALLY USE THIS TO RUN AS A LIBERAL IN THE GENERAL ELECTION.SHE HAS THE ATTITUDE OF "IF I CANT HAVE IT,NO ONE ELSE WILL"!!! I LIVE IN NEW YORK WHERE SHE HOLDS A SENATE SEAT.SHE HAS DONE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FOR THIS STATE,SO FOR HER TO BE TOUTING ALL THAT SHES GONNA GET DONE FOR THE COUNTRY IS JUST LUDICROUS.SHE'S A LIAR AND SHE NEEDS TO BE EXPOSED. AS A NEW YORKER I'LL TELL YOU HILLARY IS SELLING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE A DREAM.ONCE AGAIN, SHE'S THE BIGGEST LIAR SINCE GEORGE W.BUSH.ALL THE FOOLS THAT ARE VOTING FOR HER ARE VOTING FOR FOOL'S GOLD.SHE'S A DISGRACE TO NEW YORK AND THE COUNTRY!!!

Hillary is the best candidate.Period.

As for the press conferance with about Wright. Obama still shows he lacks judgement. He stayed in that church for over 20 years, he still attends that church. Wright is still involved with that church. This man did not become a nut over night and if Obama didnt know about his comments, its shows poor judgement on his part. Plus, he lied about it and is now trying to distract us. Michelle Obama seems to be the one influenced most by Wright, look at some of her comments and her college thesis and you can see it. Michelle will be Baracks ear in the white house and I feel they have both been influenced by Wright to a degree. Obama is playing polltics with this and its now back firing.

Do some research and don't lose focus that Obama knew very well what Wright was all about, but still kept him close. No press conferance and back peddeling will change that. Period.

This is called a democracy and it is good for our country. We have two good candidates running for the nomination. I am a Hillary supporter and proud to be one, too. Why do some of you have to be so disrespectful to the Clintons. They have done more for our country than all of you put together. Stop the hyperboles and including everyone in your opinion, since it is not a fact. Hillary is someone who will fight for the American people. She has done it in the past for children and will continue to do it for everyone. Obama is my second choice, but as you notice I do not have to write rude remarks. It is called being mature.

I hope nobody really puts too much stock in this poll. It will absolutely change right after next Tuesday when Obama wins North Carolina by a decisive margin and the Indiana contest goes either way razor thin.

The PA victory has allowed Hillary a little boost in this matchup but it won't stay that way.

Dave W.   April 29th, 2008 3:24 pm ET

As a Canadian, I hope the American people wake up and do what is right. For 8 long years your allies have had to put up with being talked down to or bullied by Bush. It is time that you elect someone who can heal the damage that Bush has caused to once great frienships. You can see by their words, actions and the way they carry themselves that McCain and Clinton are going to be exactly the same as Bush. Obama's quiet strength, and diplomatic qualities is what your nation and allies need to get us through the troubling events that face our world.
When Obama talks, he always says "we". When McCain and Clinton talk they always say "I". "I" is not going to change things, but maybe "we" can.

Chris, you have to bring people together in order to get anything done. Hillary's campaign so far has been "divide and conquer". We are not electing a queen. Give Obama more credit. He continually fights the odds and admits mistakes. Hillary knows policies and she is promising everything. Does she forget this is not a Kingdom but a democracy? Come on now! We are just getting over King George and now you want Queen Hillary. You are blinded by your lust.

Not even Clinton supporters act as badly towards Obama.

You all sound like little evil children, who can't get their way in the playground, so they bicker and hurt people.

If that's the kind of change Obama is talking about - i.e. division amongst Americans, then i want nothing to do with it - that's the last thing this country needs

Not like i ever wanted anything to do with Obama, but all this just confirms that Hillary is our best option.

Those are the rules Hillary agreed to last year.

LET'S BE HONEST HERE: Hillary didn't care about the people of FL and MI last year when SHE AGREED to not counting them. She now only wants them because she needs the votes and Barack wasn't on the ballot in MI. (And she still didn't get 50% of the vote…lame). She doesn't care about the people in the 35 states she lost, the states with caucuses, the black vote. the young vote, or the majority of the newly registered democrats. As she said, "The way I count, I'm ahead."

(And by the way, Bill didn't get elected by winning the white vote…he lost them…he won with the black vote…look it up!)

I have to wonder about Obama, what is going on with him. His spiritual advisor and friend for twenty long years really does not seem to support Obama at all. Is he really trying to warn americans about Obama. It seems to me that he will do anything to make sure Obama is not president. Why would he do that. Does he know something that we don't about Obama. I must say Rev. Wright is who he is…like him or not. He seems to be true to himself , unlike Obama who is Rev Wright's friend one moment then comes out and speaks about him negatively. I don't trust Obama. He is a scared little puppy now and will say anything to get elected now. Obama….drop out now. You can not be trusted!

The scary thing is that only today is he outraged by Wright, not months ago when Wright said all the quotes we've heard played on the news over and over. The real reason Obama is doing this now is that he is realizing that this drowning his campaign. This is quintessential politics doing whatever is necessary to maintain power. It will be very interesting to see what Wright says in response to Obama's denouncements today.

Dimitrios, Washingon DC   April 29th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

I'm so sick of Obama supporters saying Hillary Clinton can't win. News Flash: Obama cannot win either. Does that register? Neither Clinton nor Obama have the delegate votes to win.

Clinton will lead in the popular vote if Michigan and Florida are counted. Obama wants to hold onto legalities to block those votes. Clinton has ballots from real voters. The superdelagates will decide the nominee - and they will need to weigh the voice of the people, even those that the Obama campaign wants to muzzle.

Chris In PA   April 29th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

If Hillary wins the nomination without the most delegates, the Democratic Party as we know it will be destroyed. The most loyal base of the party has historically always been from African Americans. Hillary can not win without them. They have been the only loyal democrats. Bush could not have won the last two elections (except for cheating) without democrats. The (beer drinking, gun toting, and deer hunting) Democrats that defected to Bush showed their loyalty to the party. But African Americans always stayed steadfast and voted for democrats. They will not vote for Hillary or McCain. African Americans now realize that no party has their interest at heart. They now have to rely on theri own skills, talents, and abilities to make change. They will all become independents. McCain will certainlyu win if Hillary wins the nomination.

steve dumford, Scotts valley ca.   April 29th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

Let me see, first he was not in the pews, didn't even know this man who married him, baptized his children, gave him the title of his book, held these views. That's a real big stretch. The two candidates might be locked in a statistical tie but, only one candidate can actually beat McCain in November and that is HILLARY CLINTON. NO, you don't have to like her or her husband but, if you want a democrat in the White House, you better get behind her campaign.

Obama is just starting to feel the racist heat in this campaign and if he is nominated, the temperature of racism will feel like the flames of hell. Senator Obama might be a fully compatant member of congress but, he is not electable on a national scale. Not in my lifetime and probably not in my grandchildrens lifetimes as well.

I'll vote for Senator Obama if he wins the democratic nomination but, then again I voted for Geroge McGovern and Bill Bradley only to watch both of those campaigns go down in flames.

I am interested in breaking the stranglehold of the GOP on American lives and want our best most electable candidate for the Democratic Party.

Obama is losing support thanks to the Power-hungry Bosnia-lying McClinton machine. She has used every tactic on the Republican book to knock Obama out of course. She is willing to win at all cost. Obama has the most support and Hillary knows it, which is why she is trying to break the rules and stir up fear. I'm sorry, I'm a woman, I'm a Democrat, but voting for Senator Mike Gravel for President of the U.S. if Barack Obama loses to Hillary Rotten Crazy. Check Gravel out… I was supporting him before I met Obama.

Craig from Rockford, Illinois   April 29th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

Perhaps the ugliest truth in U.S. politics is that negative campaigning works. Hillary's comeback is just more proof of that. She's concerned first, last, and always with what she wants. She'll do anything, sacrifice the party's chances to get the presidency back, even savage someone she calls a "friend" to get elected president. If she thought Karl Rove would get her the nomination she'd hire him in a heartbeat.

While I'd never vote for four more years of trickle down Bush economics, "kill an Arab for big oil", or any aspect of chickenhawk foreign policy she's lost me permanently. I'll write in if she's nominated.

Gerry   April 29th, 2008 3:20 pm ET

It is disapointing that CNN doesn't publish the latest North Carolina poll, showing Obama has a 14 point lead. If that holds he will have a net delegate gain of 14 which extends his elected delegate lead to 174 with only 217 remaining.

So forget all the spin, stick a fork in HILLARY and suggest she ride that flatbed truck back to Arkansas.

Why is NO one with a brain bigger than a bird not focusing on the big issue for this NATION:

How can America vote to return an "impeached family" (especially that the Clintons have and continue to lie to people in the nation) to that White House? Have we no shame, but rather more concerned with "wealth?"

This is a land of "opportunity." Unless you, me, and everyone else is given that "opportunity", no one will ever have the experience needed to make this nation move forward. This is about this nation, not an individual– Only Obama holds the real "American Dream" and the opportunity to open the door for you, me, and our children. We do not need a dynasty in this nation; even the British people are getting tired of the monarchy!

How can anyone vote for a LIAR. She won't do half the things she says she'll do. And most the country hates her anyway, she can't bring unity to the DNC and she'll never bring it to the country.

Vote smart America, this woman is playing games. She has already lost, but she wants to lie to the superdelegates. Enough already…tick tock.

Just think of what the republican attack machine is going to do to either of them.
Face it, obama and hillary are doomed, and no I'm not a republican.

Pat   April 29th, 2008 3:20 pm ET

Obama is a good man, but the Republicans will have an easy victory due to Rev. Wright. I'm not saying it's right, but that's what's going to happen. Hillary fights back better and isn't afraid to go for the low blows herself. This is what we need. It's sad, but true. Obama just isn't tough enough to handle the Republican Political Machine.

Reality   April 29th, 2008 3:20 pm ET

North Carolina offers more delegate than Indiana and South Dakota combined. I think Obama is going more than compensate his losses in Penn and Indiana (if he losses by moderate margin).

Reality is Hillary has already lost. It's everything settled bar the shouting. Only way for Clinton to be nominated is to get the superdelegates overturn the victory of Obama and risk, unprecidented rioting in Black constituency all accross. And that's not gonna happen. So Hillary lovers, it's only gloom and doom for you what ever happens in Indiana. Oregon is still coming.

McCaine can easily be put on explaining stand later on to clarify Bush's mistake. He can easily be immerssed in that. So electability of Obama is very high.

A nonblack, non white realist

Tracey   April 29th, 2008 3:20 pm ET

CNN - Your use of subliminal messages are not going un-noticed. Not only have you darkened the pic of Obama while leaving Clinton's light and bright (evil vs. good) you have CONTINUOUSLY kept this boring Rev. Wright story going for weeks. Notice under "Politics" the story is about Obama and Rev. WRight, while McCain's story is about healthcare. Let's get some REAL journalism going and talk about the REAL issues that affect us. Rev. Wright is only an issue to those who want to cast a negative cloud over a postive man like Obama.

slkuea   April 29th, 2008 3:20 pm ET

Obama said the Rev Wright he saw yesterday is not the Rev Wright he's known for twenty years? How can he possibly believe that we're going to buy that statement? The more he speaks the more I don't trust the guy.

David B.   April 29th, 2008 3:19 pm ET

Clinton supporters - you all need to realize that she says whatever it takes her to win. When she was asked to step out of the race, she was enraged and rebuked at those who suggested her to get out. She mentioned that there are voices that needed to be heard and asked if state of Montana is not important…

NOW - get this… After her shallow victory in Pennsylvania, she boasted that big states are in her favor and claimed herself as a winner… Why did she say that she won big states and Obama did not? Does she mean that big states are important than small states?

Obama kept moving and expressed himself sincerely as a believer that he is to be a President without making a lot of remarks against Clinton.

HILLARY LIVES??? Well, she kept making a lot of negative remarks. Is that what a true leader supposed to be? She lost my vote…

OBAMA - don't give up!

Teris   April 29th, 2008 3:19 pm ET

Its time for the Obama supporters to start the healing process and tone down the anger - its destroying the party.

Please understand. Obama denounced the comments not the man. He can not dissociate himself from Wright. Otherwise it will be hell to pay. Nothing like the wrath of a "pastor" scorned. Wright knows way too much about Obama and if Obama dare cross him, Wright will bring him down. Thats the bottom line.

Sam   April 29th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

The number one enemy of this country is its media (CNN etc.). I have no idea why they show this Wright over and over. Who is he?! Is he running for president! Let's talk about US debt, future energy issues, health care, education…

O-blah-ma   April 29th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

Whoever wins Indiana will be the nominee… BANK ON IT.

If Hillary wins there and keeps NC close - she will have the momentum. If Barack wins IN and NC (bigger than 9%) He will have the momentum to close the door.

Thanks to Rev Wright… looks like Hillary will squeak by Obama and his spiritual mentor.

Steve   April 29th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

This of course, will be ignored, denounced or explained away by the Obama supporters, pointing out that he has more electoral delegate votes locked up (as if that mattered, one needs 2, 025 to clinch, period.) than Clinton. By the way, check out the article below about Obama's press conference. Especially notice some Obama supporters practically BEGGING the reader to let this issue with Wright go. Why? Because they know it is damaging Obama's chances not only at the nomination, but the general election. I can't help but laugh when I see bloggers writing things such as "PLEASE, PLEASE let this Wright thing go!" I can just imagine them shedding tears on the keyboard, pulling their hair out, etc. It's funny to see them begging. And its also curious how Obama supporters are know turning their fangs on the mainstream media as Obama critics. See CNN, reporting the "wrong" thing, even if it is simply reporting a fact, will always bring out attackers from one side or another.

"I can no more disown him (Wright) than I can disown the black community." -Barack Obama several weeks ago

“He was never my spiritual adviser, he was never my spiritual mentor — he was my pastor.” -Barack Obama today

Will the real Barack Obama please stand up?

OC - CA - cubanamericanwoman   April 29th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

The nomination cannot be taken away from Obama. He's already won. HRC needs to bow out and unite with Obama and with all of us democrats. Come on democrats - with a team like Obama and Clinton WE CAN TAKE THIS COUNTRY BACK!!!! God knows neither of them are perfect, but it is obvious that BOTH have our best interest at heart (although HRC seems to be more power sick). Nevertheless - the American people need them BOTH.

GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!

Hillary is looking better each day, Obama is damaged goods by his own doing and his own pastor. The pastor is a racist and is a nut job.
And now Obaby is throwing his pastor under the bus…finally after months of this nut job inciting the white vote. It is now a racial issue and Obaby is not going to make it.

No votes for liars, Hillary will lose.

North Carolina and Indiana are smart, they know a liar when they hear one. Kick her to the curb, and let's move on to the general.

She'll be back in 2012, this woman will not go away. There's too much money at stake, too many books to sell, too much china to steal. And since we all know how selfish and greedy she is, we know she'll be back. Helping the people to Hillary is the biggest joke, but Barack will get the last laugh.

Keep going America, vote her out.

michelle   April 29th, 2008 3:17 pm ET

I voted today in the early voting in North Carolina for Senator Obama and look forward to the presidential elections so I can vote for President Obama !

Dan in Sacramento, CA   April 29th, 2008 3:17 pm ET

This primary has become a joke. The media has created the illusion that Hillary still has a chance to win. She claims she wants everyone's voices heard, but even if we give her MI and FL as she wants, she will still trail and the only way she can now win is if SUPERDELEGATES OVERRULE THE RESULTS OF THE PRIMARIES AND THE WILL OF THE VOTERS. Once again, she's manipulating and speaking out both sides of her face.

Isn't 20 years of dynastic rule by two families enough for this REPUBLIC?!

Steven   April 29th, 2008 3:16 pm ET

Now there's no way the party won't be fractured. Nobody can seriously tell Clinton to just quit. There are too many loose ends. She has too much support in the party. Obama is turning into a very weak candidate: 1) he clearly doesn't have the support to "knock" Clinton out of the race–this will go on until at least the end of the primaries; 2) his previous unknowns are turning into negatives; 3) the Wright issue was handled poorly from the beginning, will not go away and will be an issue in November if he survives; 4) he has lost control of the debate, he's lost his voice.

If he is nominated it will be by limping to the finish line, like a runner who is injured in a preliminary heat ans still has to run the final. And don't blame CLinton for these problems. She's doing what a candidate does: keeps running unless and until if makes no sense for her to do so.

It's up to Obama to finish Clinton off from a position of strength. Otherwise, he will not have the mandate.

I personally blame Dean for the party's woes. He's the leader of the party. He's done a poor job all around.

Rebecca   April 29th, 2008 3:16 pm ET

I do not understand how people can continue to support Hillary Clinton. She has a proven track record of lying and sneaking and being an 'old school' politician. No one has been able to 'dig up' dirt on Senator Obama other than to try to say that what his pastor believes, he must believe, which is ridiculous. As my Catholic priest says "we go to church to worship God, not for the priest, not for the music, not for any other reason."

There were articles on CNN about Obama's upbringing and mother, what he did after graduate school, etc. He is an open book. If people say they do not "know him" it must be because they do not read. There is plenty of material out there. Do some research and find out about your candidates.

We have a golden opportunity here to finally change this country around in the right direction and move away from the politics as usual, and we are blinded by things that really do not even matter. It is so sad.

Gretchen in California   April 29th, 2008 3:16 pm ET

If Obama can stay even through all the Reverend Wright controversy, he is one strong candidate. No one has thrown anything at Hillary (and there are decades of footage to throw) and she's only just even. I think Hillary would be a capable president but I'd have to hold my nose to vote for her and I will not saddle my children with four more years of G.W.Bush. I'm praying for Obama.

alice2   April 29th, 2008 3:16 pm ET

OBAMA YOU'R A WINNER. HILLARY YOU LOST. Hillary has/is trying everything to destroy Barack. She tries to keep Rev Wright going, to hurt Barack. I think that will be hard to forget.. She is so negative and destructive to the Dems that I don't see how the Superdels can support Hillary, with the type of mind set she has.. I can barely listen to her or watch her. Some of Obama supporters realized that he is not the best candidate to represent democrats. I am democrat and I will vote for him if he is nominee but I highly doubt that he could win this race. You can not win with Empty speeches. I really hope Hillary gets nomination as she is brilliant as far as knowlegde of policies and solutions of problems are concerned. I definitely prefer Hillary over Obama.

Obama speech on Wright is a little too late. Now he denounces Wrights Coments after his political career is on the line. He didn’t know about Farrahkan before? None of Wright’s views? Please. Wright coming out is a no winning situation for Obama. If it’s true he never heard of Wright’s anti American stands for 20 years one has to question Obama’s awareness and judgment.

Bill and Hill will do everything possible to steal this nomination. It's crazy how the numbers show a virtual impossibility for her to win, yet you Hillary supporters march on, hoping the super delegates will help Bill and Hill steal. Note this point. The democrats can not and will not win an election without the black vote, which is huge, this time around. And as many African Americans who feel disenfranchised today goes, so does the democratic nomination. Let the Supers steal this one and see don't we have another Republican president. And that is not being divisive. It's sharing fact.

Andrew from PA   April 29th, 2008 3:15 pm ET

Hunter (first poster),

Obama has not won the nomination. Neither candidate can win under the existing rules. They both have an unattainable amount of delegates to get as set in the rules and thus this is going to go to the superdelegates and ultimately the convention that elect who is the nominee. Remember we aren't counting Florida or Michigan as set by the rules (giving Obama that clear lead… but if we weren't they'd be tied or Hillary would be winning).

The truth is Obama has lost his golden boy momentum. Change to the unexplained are not what the american people are looking for anymore. Holding more superdelegates is going to be the key in the end here

Hillary is the only candidate with all her proposals out for for everyone to read, and they're good too. She's got experience. And she's been vetted big time. She's got momentum and an unbreakable will. She connects to the american people and thats what she's been doing for the last 30 years.

The american people are coming around from obama-mania to realize that she is the real deal. Obama was just media hype. Not to say he wouldn't make a great president one day… I think with some experience (maybe as VP) he'd make a great president in 2013 or 2017.

What makes Hillary any better than Bush? I see her have the same spin and lies that we have had from this administration.

We are indeed a Prozac Nation!

Ken   April 29th, 2008 3:15 pm ET

Just another reason to keep the contest going! Neither Clinton nor Obama will have the 2,025 needed to win.

Obama would end up being a "Rookie" President if elected and beat McCain. While on the other hand, Clinton has the talent, skills, knowledge and experience to become a President on day one.

WAKE UP AMERICA! Let us ALL get behind Hillary and push her over the finish line. She is the one that CAN BEAT McCain in November.

Hillary Clinton is what America needs to turn our country back to what it was that made all Americans proud!

Eric   April 29th, 2008 3:15 pm ET

Pfff… BS. Look at the delegate count. Obama's WAY ahead. The way I see it Obama's up too in popular vote. Caucuses DO count, and as a resident of a caucus state, I'm OFFENDED that Hillary doesn't seem to think so. Just about every other poll has Obama up at least a couple points.

Clinton is airing this advertisement in Indiana, bemoaning the closure of a defense contractor Magnequench's manufacturing plant in Valparaiso (she is also echoing this line in her stump speeches). Looking at the camera, she tells us she's upset that the 200 jobs that were sent to China, and that "now America's defense relies on Chinese spare parts." And then comes the kicker: She tells viewers that "George Bush could have stopped it, but he didn't."

Clinton is certainly right that it is a tragedy that 200 American jobs were killed in a corporate deal that also exported sensitive military technology to China. But she forgets to mention that it wasn't George Bush who was in the key position to stop it — it was Bill Clinton.

oooops Hillary better get the facts, your hubby is the reason these people lost their factory and you are trying to get their votes by lies….

This poll was obviously taken before his holiness Rev. Wright sparked more "outrage!" from the Obama camp. What a load of crap! Obama's had more than enough time to distance himself from the preacher. The fact that he didn't do so 10, 15, 20 years earlier shows what little common sense the Senator has.

Obama lost my vote the day Wright arrived on YouTube.

“As I’ve said about the flag pin, I don’t want to be perceived as taking sides,”
Obama said. “There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a
symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know,
the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial
and less bellicose. I like the song ‘I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing.’ If that were
our anthem, then I might salute it.”

Why don't you print comments supportive of Senator Clinton?

joeparadis   April 29th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

clintons are evil

Democrats Rule   April 29th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

Why can't Democrats add? Obama has already won this one. We should be thanking our lucky starts and joining him on his 50 State voter registration campaign and get these Republicans put out for the next 8 years instead of fussing around with Senator Clinton who CANNOT mathematically win this. Clinton supporters need to come home to the party and let's have a LANDSLIDE in November. Give President Obama the mandate he deserves to heal America's image at home and abroad.

Go Hillary   April 29th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

Hillary is the smartest and that women knows what she is doing ! We need a STRONG leader - not someone who talks the talk and walks the walk!

Obama is just talk thats it!

Hillary 08 !!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What excuse does Obama has now about his Judgement in regards to his Pastor Wright????
And he complains about Hillary"s Judgement????
Poor, poor judgement Obama, to stay that long with this Pastor.
He wont get my vote !!!!
Hillary is best for our Country , at least she won't invite Rev Wright to the White House.
Hillary 2008!!!!
Hope the Superdelegates think hard before they give Obama their vote.
I rather vote for McCain…

soothsayer   April 29th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

Why can't you at CNN expose any white person's affiliations ?

Rayray   April 29th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

Obama will prevailObama will prevail even though Hillary is just in it in hopes Obama is damaged enough not to win in November so she can run in 2012…now is that selfish or what? I cannot believe people don’t see this, she cannot win even if she one the rest of the way to the convention and yet she stays in the race. If the roles were turned and Obama would have been trailing, I am sure he would have dropped out already and gotten behind her…but noooooo, apparently she is owed the White house because she is a Clinton. When people play football or baseball or any other sport, we don’t change rules in the middle of the game, we don’t lie about where the ball was downed, etc. Hillary, don’t think for one minute that we the American people with half a brain know that this is what you want. If you were really concerned about the American people you would have acted a lot different you should be ashamed of yourself.

Obama 08/12

Bon   April 29th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

The Clintons sought out Rev. Wright's counseling during the Monica Lewinsky ordeal. Surely the Rev. can't be that bad……can he????

jenkins   April 29th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

Obama's judgement for having Wright in his campaign tells me he's NOT qualified to be president. That seals the deal for this american. Reverend Wright is a disgrace and everyone knows it. The fact that Obama doesn't is very troubling.

Lawrence for barack   April 29th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

thats freakin stupid pollster thinks they know everything wow

Obama 08-12

Rob   April 29th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

This is a perfect example of how the media controls an election. If enough people in the media start saying that one candidate is losing momentum and another is gaining, after a few days of repeating this you suddenly see a change in the polls. I think that the media preys on those people who can't think for themselves.

Quamaine Mason   April 29th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

Obama needs to show who is dominant. Stop attacking each other and start telling voters who have the best proposal. When 2016 come remember this name im running for U.S Senate for louisiana

Brooke   April 29th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

Some Obama supporters amaze me. Hillary has done very well by any stretch of the imagination in this campaign, has won most of the larger states that need to be won to beat the GOP, is statistically tied with Obama and yet she has "lost" or needs to "drop out." The reason Obama's numbers have gone down is because people have gotten to know him. He talks a good game but that's all it is, talk.

Carlo   April 29th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

Okay, all jokes aside Barack Obama, why don’t you and reverent Jeremiah Wright go behind the curtain and make up and say sorry that you had to say all those ill about Jeremiah Wright because its just politics and in politics, you have to win! If your not a winner your not doing a good job of being a politician.

Alle   April 29th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

Why doesn't anyone bring up the MOST important thing about this media fiasco… that it is COMPLETELY irrelevant to our political process and is deflecting attention away from so many pertinent issues affecting our nation. We are "one nation under God", but also agree to separate Church from State. What a pastor says is not supposed to affect the quality of our political process or interfere with the political dialogue in our country.

PLEASE LET'S MOVE ON and choose a nominee before we all die from aggravation and discontent. Hillary either needs to get over herself and be authentic to who she is or be ashamed of her conduct throughout her entire campaign. As a woman, I am truly disappointed and disgusted by her tactics.

By the way, and if anything… I think that one who summers on Martha's Vineyard and hobnobs with Carly Simon is not exactly clear of "elitist" epithet his/herself!!

So, there!
GO 'BAMA!!!

CAROL   April 29th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

This poll doesn't mean diddly,Like Jimmy Carter said last night the super delegates are poised to go with the candidate with the most pledged delegates,WSJ this am states he is favored heavily to win the silent " election".I would like to be there when Hillary,Bill and James Carville get the news.

get real   April 29th, 2008 3:11 pm ET

Go Hillary… You have the experience and know how to help the people of this great country.

Obama has shown that his biggest argument is null and void. He tried to paint the picture that he has superior judgement because he did not support the war with Iraq from the beginning.

Obama's argument that he has superior judgement holds no water. He had 20 years to walk out on his nut job pastor. He chose not to. Face the facts. Obama can't beat McCain in the general election.

Hillary 08

tomdavie   April 29th, 2008 3:11 pm ET

Nice speech Obama gave on Wright today.

NOW hes outraged? Wright has been saying the same thing for 20 years. This idea he was DIFFERENT 20 years ago is a joke.

Obama tried to cut off ties to Wright, but cmon, he was his PASTOR and spiritual advisor for 20 years.

This speech by Obama is damage control. He had his opportunity in Philadelphia to sever ties with him.

As much as I am laughing at Obamas no win situation, I am soley angry at Wright throwing Obama under the bus after all Obama did to defend him.

Wright is a JERK.
