Skelton is backing Clinton.
Skelton is backing Clinton.

(CNN) - Missouri Rep. Ike Skelton said Tuesday he will cast his superdelegate vote for Hillary Clinton.

In a statement released by the Clinton campaign, Skelton said he is supporting the New York senator because of "her support in rural America, her commitment to National Security, and her dedication to our men and women in uniform."

Skelton is chairman of the powerful House Armed Services Committee and has served in congress for over 30 years. His state narrowly voted for Barack Obama on February 5, though Clinton won 60 percent of his congressional district.

With Skelton's endorsement, Clinton now holds a 22 superdelegate lead over Obama, 259 to 237, according to CNN's estimate. More than 300 superdelegates have yet to make up their minds.

Skelton is the fourth superdelegate to endorse a candidate Tuesday. Earlier, North Carolina Gov. Mike Easley announced he was backing Clinton and Kentucky Rep. Ben Chandler and Iowa DNC member Richard Machacek announced they were supporting Obama.

Ike, Obama won the Missouri vote How dare you go against the Missouri voters. That is not democracy! Ike are you a racist?

Sorry Skelton that you won't be on the Obama train whenever it comes whistling through Washington and New York. I wish that I could get by many things just by lying and cheating (Bill Clinton), maybe my life would be easier and oh, RICHY RICH also. Sorry Hill but no matter how you spin you're still losing.

My hope is that Clinton and Obama will wake up and realize that they need each other and can complete both their goals much easier togeather than apart. That would be real hope and change.
If Obama is really for change, how come he has taken most of Clinton and the demo. partys positions. Do you call that change. Does that give you hope or is it just more of the same since he has never done this before and doesnt really have the back ground to do what he says he wants to do. !!!!!!!!!!!!!

So there's another Skeleton in Clinton's closet, so what else is new. There is something new other than her 2 endorsements received today – she has an ad out that states she is from Illinois that is airing in Indiana – you know we are neighbors kind of panderning. Wasn't she from Scranton, Penn. when she was running in that state. So confused. Hillary please tell us where exactly are you from and who are you?

Doug Maxwell   April 29th, 2008 8:06 pm ET

This might be the first time since Bush Sr. ran the first time that I cast a vote for the Republican party. I am not that excited about any candidate other than Seanator Clinton. Obama will not get my vote. My home state Senator John McCain is looking better and better. I don't think the democrats will unite this year.

BJ   April 29th, 2008 8:03 pm ET

Why do Obama supporters have to be so vile in their comments? If we criticize, at least let it be constructive!

I guess most of them are too inexperienced to exercise GOOD JUDGEMENT!

No matter how the pundits or Obama surrogates spin his repudiation and denunciation of Rev. Wright, it all seems too convenient and expeditious.

The only way he can save face and his political career is to step down, accept defeat, go back to the Senate, legislate more, then come back in 2016.

Mark   April 29th, 2008 8:03 pm ET

Obama will overcome Rev. Wright just as he will overcome Bill and Hillary Clinton. I'm just amazed at how supposedly intelligent voters are easily manipulated by a chameleon like Hillarly Clinton. She changes her spots with every crowd she speaks to. Do not think for one second that if by some unfortunate turn of events she does get the nomination she will not be making all sorts of promises to the black population to get their votes including sucking up to Obama,

I don't care about Rev. Wright and I am not an Obama supporter. However, if Obama gets elected I don't think I can stand to look at the horrible antics that the Rev. Wright goes through when he talks. He hasn't had such a bad life and needs to quit putting down America. Do we need to listen to this for the next four years?

Mlachake from Orange, Ca   April 29th, 2008 7:55 pm ET

Surely Obama supporters are nothing but whining babies! The White House is not the place for whiners! Let me point out one more fact here. Obama supporters are failing to understand that the purpose of the superdelegates is to nominate a candidate who has a better chance to win the November election if none of the candidates ganners the required delegates for the party nomination. Neither Obama nor Clinton have the required delegates to lock the nomination; a reason why the fight for nomination should continue until the last State votes. After that, the superdelegates will make their judgement as to whom will better represent the party in the General Elections. Just a reminder to Obama supporters that neither candidate has enough delegates to claim victory! So please shelf your excitement and let the superdelegates make their decision as to which candidate can best represent the Democrats come November.

Joanne   April 29th, 2008 7:55 pm ET

Clinton's minister molested a seven-year old? Why isn't the news reporting this? Is Clinton still a member of that church? There are lawsuits out against her? Why isn't this on the news? The media is not fair in its treatment of Obama. The media is biased and is doing everything that it can to sink Obama. Then I wonder whether the Clintons are paying Wright. They are ruthless enough. Isn't it odd that a person almost has to be a murderer in order to get respect. I guess that it is true that the good guys finish last. If Obama is not on the ticket, McCain has my vote.

Hey Anne E good for you so am I and I am a registered Republican who is switiching parties to vote for Obama.

Clinton supporters support your candidate each one of us are allowed to support whomever we choose I just want to support someone who is fresh, young, and isn't tied to lobbyist as the Clinton's (plural) are. I understand that you either want a woman in the White House or you don't want change because when you are tied to lobbyist you won't be able to change Washington too many people in your pocket and since the Clinton's refuse to release their list of donors for the Clinton library something must be in there that could be detrimental to her campaign that she doesn't want it released. So cheer on you have the right just as I have the right to cheer on Obama but can we keep the nastinest out of the comments we have enought of that from the nominees.

I want to say a word about the basic decency I have seen in Mr. Obama. Mrs. Clinton continues to throw the Rev. Wright up in his face as part of her mission to keep stoking the fears of White America. Every time she does this I shout at the TV, "Say it, Obama! Say that when she and her husband were having marital difficulties regarding Monica Lewinsky, who did she and Bill bring to the White House for 'spiritual counseling?' THE REVEREND JEREMIAH WRIGHT!"
But no, Obama won't throw that at her. It wouldn't be right. It wouldn't be decent. She's been through enough hurt. And so he remains silent and takes the mud she throws in his face.

Like the country, the Democratic Party is divided. Even at this late date Hillary Clinton is receiving Super Delegate support. It's amazing after all the money and swooning coverage that Obama receives. The Wright mess means a lot to me, but a little reported story last week should disturb every American. Cnn might not post this response about education, but if you take a look at Clinton's plan, she's going to give a 3500 dollar tax credit. That's in addition to 100M for internships for youth, increasing pell grants, 500M to community colleges, upping the americorps stipend to 10K. And besides, she can actually articulate her plan as opposed to Obama. those "has beens" and dried up folks sometimes know what' they're talking about.

I and my wife are for Hillary Clinton as the next president of this UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. We're in our middle sixties, seen a bit of life as low income workers in America in our lives, the times were good when Mr Clinton was president. People we need a good long run of good times again where our name UNITED STATES means something again, where our money has value in the world, a time our children can look forwards to life with out wars and flag covered caskets coming home with loved ones (or their selves). It's time we looked forward to a wonderful life and not a bad or sad life, lets look towards up grading our roads, our bridges, our schools, improving our ability to have rights to get health care(each and every one of us). Lets spend our money on other things other than wars and their many costs, lets put our money in to America and make it a wonderful place to live, we can, lets join hands, no matter what color or race we are, lets think about what's best for THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND ALL HER PEOPLE!! I wonder if they have caught up yet with who the superdelegates are.

At our Arizona state party meeting Saturday, we elected a new first Vice Chair of the party, to fill a vacancy. The position is a Superdelegate position, so it was an important vote.

The winner was Charlene Fernandez. One of the reasons she won was because she was forthright in saying how she will cast her vote (for Obama,) while most of the other candidates were either wishy-washy or didn't say in their speech who they would support. I think that even some borderline Clinton supporters voted for her because they appreciated that she was up front and honest about who she's supporting.

We need a President that is going to open the lines of communication to the world and not get us blown off the map with old school style politics that don't consider the world TODAY!

Susan   April 29th, 2008 6:52 pm ET

I have voted in every election, local or national, since I turned eighteen (which wasn't yesterday).

If Hillary Clinton gets this nomination, although I will still go to the polls because we have some important state races, I will not cast a vote for president.

Just saying it makes me feel kind of ill, but I will not enable Hillary Clinton to ruin this country, as I feel certain she will.

Voter   April 29th, 2008 6:52 pm ET

Obama is what this country needs. It doesn't matter what the media stacks up against him, we will vote for him in November. We're not going to vote for Clinton. WE WILL VOTE MCCAIN IF SHE"S NOMINATED. THINK ABOUT THAT. She will not get the black or the young vote. So what if Barack isn't the right choice for this country or the world. He's our choice. The young have spoken. We are the sheppards of the future! Everyone else is irrevelant...

Hillary has the right people in her corner with more to come. The Obama campaign cannot claim good judgment when their man has just now strongly denounced his relationship with J. Wright. Nothing has changed, it's just now more politically expedient to denounce him.

I believe that Obama is a good man but has very poor judgment and needs more time to mature and distance himself from people who would damage the presidency for the Democratic party

.

Texican - Many blacks remember a better time when Bill Clinton was in the White House. They also respect Hillary for her work for the under priviledged, and they know she represents all Americans. If Obama was not black, those same people would have voted for Hillary. And, they will if she wins the nomination because they know they need a president that will work to improve the livelyhood of all Americans. She will.

Hillary won Arkansas because we remember her commitment to health care, education, and civil rights. The BET owner and other national and state black leaders will help strenghten Hillary's position if she receives the nomination. Why do you think she always polls better than McCain? If blacks really want to see improvements in the government and the country, they will vote Hillary 08.

I believe that she would rather win the nomination and lose the election than lose the nomination and see another Democrat win the election.

If Clinton manages to steal the nomination, I'll quit the party and write Obama's name on the ballot in November. Better McCain than Clinton. ANYBODY but Clinton.

She has a time table for bringing the troops home, plans to help the economy and save people from losing their homes, a plan to help all Americans get health care, and will work to begin balancing the budget. Remember, the last President to balance the budget and trim down the national debt was Bill Clinton - The man Obama supporters love to denigrate. If Clinton wins the nomination, it's the end of the Democratic party as we know it. Maybe it's not a bad thing. Maybe the bad thing is how the GOP selects a nominee. We need new parties, plain and simple. Social conservatives like the Clintons and Bushes fit in well with the "Bubba" and "beer and whisky" crowds. Social liberals like Obama fit in well with the "wine," "independent" and "educated" crowds. Let's divide based on social, rather than economic issues. McCain is still a maverick and probably still wins.

Jesse, Burnsville, MN   April 29th, 2008 6:16 pm ET

They do have the right to endorse whomever they please. I would tell them, however, that if they turn over the will of the people, they will lose this Democrat and millions of others FOREVER.

Clinton supporters may have be effective in their negative attacks of Obama, but I still know that he is a person of integrity who has tried to remain above it all yet gets dragged through the mud any chance Hillary gets. That may work for the Republican Party, but then again, that is one of the main reasons I'm not affiliated with that party.

Alicia   April 29th, 2008 6:16 pm ET

IF A PASTOR IS KNOWN BY THE COMPANY THEY KEEP!

When the Rev. William Procanick put his hand on the Bible during his
sex-abuse trial in Oneida County Court earlier this year, he swore to
tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth. But as the former
Clinton pastor was sentenced Friday to three years in prison for
inappropriately touching a 7-year-old girl at his home last March,
Judge Michael L. Dwyer said Procanick sacrificed his honesty the day he
testified.
Okay, so now that Bill and Hillary Clinton's pastor has been convicted
of child molestation, will we see the same furor directed at Hillary
that Obama has had to endure these last
few weeks?

IF A CANDIDATE IS KNOWN BY THE PASTOR THEY KEEP

Then you need to email this article to everyone you know. Here the
CLINTON'S Pastor is convicted of child molestation. So, if Obama bears
the guilt for his pastor's comments, then Hillary has to be equally
tainted by her pastor's crimes.

Dave W   April 29th, 2008 6:16 pm ET

I cannot be angry at anyone for whom they choose as their President, I cannot stop anyone from their choice, I can only give you my reason for choosing who I think should be our next leader, not the person who makes many promises not the person who lie at the drop of a hat to gain points, not the person who chose t o fight through unfounded accusation, but a person that has respect for the nation a person that refuse to throw words of deceit and hate even in their demeanor. I would rather each candidate win through their position their determination to make an effective change throughout the nation, as a Black woman who believes she is a strong black woman who has witness lack of family unite lack of trust in the legal and government system, racism not only from other race but within my own race. I can only give my gift of my voice through my vote.

Obama represents a new and different type of politics, we need him to lead us into a new era where we all, not just the wealthy are given a "say" in what happens in this country. Change is a good thing and we need it desperately this election.

Ignore all the Rev. Wright nonsense.....that is.....if you are courageous enough to move into the future and leave the past negative politics behind.

I just want to comment on something that Hill-Billary has been saying this whole campaign. She keeps saying that she's ready to lead on day one. This is a bunch of crap. First, let's explore the obvious response to this. Newly-inuagurated presidents don't do crap on day one. They go to black tie parties. Hill-Billary would certainly do this. Second, there's the implication that Obama wouldn't be ready on day one. Where is this coming from, and why are people actually buying it? It's amazing to me how ignorant this country is. Someone keeps repeating the same thing over and over and pretty soon the ignorant and stupid among us begin to believe it. Anyway, just wanted to get that off my chest. It's an empty statement. But then she's a Washington insider. I shouldn't have expected anything different.

Oh that's right.. we elected an idiot for president twice.. and now Obama supporters are pushing for a third time of an idiot in the white house? The man doesn't even know half of what he's talking about when it's not written up in a pretty little speech for him.

Obama is a WIMP and I pray the super delegates see that Hillary IS the better candidate and they send Obama back to Illinois so that he, Rezko, and Wright can all sit around a small table in a small office and talk about how they almost done it.

Open your eyes America and quit being idiots.
Ain't no wonder the rest of the world hates us.

Superdelegates, go ahead and give Hillary the nomination despite what the majority have said. I thought that this election was going to be different and I see that I was wrong. Congratulations Sen. I am a supporter of Barack and I can understand Pastor Wright's comments. Do I agree with them all no, but I understand. Barack is referred to as the FIRST AFICAN AMERICAN to have a chance to be President, I thought he was mixed his mother is White. I wonder what he would be called if his father was WHITE AND MOTHER BLACK?
I also wonder if the cable news would spend all this time on Rev. Wright instead of the issues that affect us now.
Last and most important, former President Jimmy Carter said when he grew up he heard the same type of preaching from an AME preacher. Something to think about.

Obama   April 29th, 2008 5:47 pm ET

Obama is no longer an electible candidate. He should have come out stronger against Wright from the beginning. His story that he never heard Wright talk or think the way he does is just not possible. Obama tried to hide who Wright really was and also makes the voter wonder who Obama really is.

I cannot even imagine any superdelegate picking Obama – he will not win over McCain, especially in light of all that has come to light in the past few months on the tuype of people Obama has been close to over the years.

good.

Starting to see the light:

liked this post- so i copied it

there are only 2 reasons any super delegate endorses Obama at this juncture:

1. as a last ditch effort, in unison with other endorsees, to create the illusion of widespread support and inevitability and to, hopefully, stem the tide of his clear reversal of momentum beginning with texas and ohio primaries.

2. stupidity.

neither rationale will stave the inevitable from occurring, namely, Hillary overtaking him in key metrics (popular vote, head-to-head polls vs. mccain) and the key pychological metric of "momentum.".

Disappointed   April 29th, 2008 5:43 pm ET

According to the Clinton Camp endorsements don't count. That is what they said. It is either too late or who cares, that is what they always say. Or has that changed, I can't keep track of all the changes and rules that change when Hillary does something, it is not important if Obama does it, but if she does well now you are talking. No, Hillary will win b/c she didn't give up and she's a tough candidate and always has been. She didn't sugar coat her candidacy. You people just want to scapegoat that's all. In fact, that is something that the BHO campaign is consistent with–using others as a scapegoat. BHO is not and never was a strong candidate. He got carried by the mere wind of his supporters cheers and the media. Some people just cannot accept the fact that their candidate is not all that strong.

Chuck   April 29th, 2008 5:35 pm ET

Old cronie goes for status quo is all I can say. He is a clear example of a government gone astray birds of a feather stick to gether is fitting of this.

Video Guy   April 29th, 2008 5:33 pm ET

If she is so "dedication to our men and women in uniform." why does she go on National TV and make fun of being under sniper fire. I am sure that our Military members who are under real sniper fire do not think it is funny.

Lily   April 29th, 2008 5:33 pm ET

Hillary is untrustworthy and unelectable.
All she does it Lie and speak mistruths.

Obama is the Only one who can heal this country after all the harm that Hillary has done.

dorothy   April 29th, 2008 5:32 pm ET

Hillary Clinton,s supporters all seem to have something in common, which gives me a clear indication of what to expect if she becomes the next President, because Clinton, and John McCain would be another 4 years of Bush and Cheney in the White House. I refused to vote for either.

Who cares about this crusty old skeleton guy, I mean Skelton guy? Barack Obama received the endorsement of Missouri Senatior Claire McCaskill months ago.

Obama all the way to the White House '08!

HP Boston   April 29th, 2008 5:31 pm ET

The people who regret the early votes they gave Obama are furious. He is still being vetted and they see SD still caving to the begging and promises made to them, Obama is toast!
He will never be able to win the GE, resign Obama, we all know what a loser you are.

James   April 29th, 2008 5:30 pm ET

Obama will win the nomination anyway so it does not matter.

Raq   April 29th, 2008 5:28 pm ET

This is my first time ever voting ...I will be votiing for Obama....he is the best person to be our president of this country..very honest. We dont need another Clinton in the white house NOT THIS TIME HILLARY... If Hillary is the nominee I will not vote in november... Period.

Earl   April 29th, 2008 5:27 pm ET

Good to see some superdelegates are starting to show some rational thinking here.

And this is a strong endorsement when it comes to Hillary as Commander-in-Chief. Skelton is Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee and he specifically mentions her commitment to National Security as a strength.

Add that to 28 generals and admirals who are known as Flag Officers, which also includes 2 former Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

As far as being the best prepared to be Commander-in-Chief of the U.S., its not even close between Hillary and Obama.

Go Hillary '08!

rachel maldonado   April 29th, 2008 5:27 pm ET

Praetorian, Fort Myers   April 29th, 2008 5:27 pm ET

A. He's been in power too long.
B. He's hoping to stay in power by recommending Hillary.
C. He's also committed–to blaming someone else for everything and accomplishing nothing–all the while insuring steadily increasing costs to the taxpayer–and steadily decreasing return on that investment.

Thanks

Eric-PA   April 29th, 2008 5:26 pm ET

Good news. Another superdelegate with common sense. They're all coming out now realizing Obama is unelectable.

Hillary is dancing in the streets right now because the focus is not on her. Where is the news on Peter Paul vs. Clinton.

It is clear that the meadia is attacking the best candidate!

GO OBAMA!

TJ in Texas (Dallas)   April 29th, 2008 5:09 pm ET

Hillary supporters: You're in a cloud and need to get out. The only reason is seems things are not going so well for Obama is because he is getting negative coverage, which historically goes to the front runner and eventual party nominee (and president). Mark my words, Hillary's days are numberd...

OBAMA '08
YES WE CAN. YES WE WILL!

Roger   April 29th, 2008 5:09 pm ET

Obama is out gaining Hillary in superdelegate endorsements but even if she gains enough momentum to split the superdelegates, she still loses. As soon as the media pays attention to the stories about her and Peter Paul, Bill Clinton causing the closing of the factory she uses in her latest TV ads, Columbia trade, NAFTA (for it or against it?!?), etc. then it will be impossible for her to even split the superdelegates.

Ray Ito   April 29th, 2008 5:09 pm ET

Supporting the wrong horse. The Democratic party will once again regret for letting the Republicans win the White House.

Keep playing the race card and see what happens.

Jody Reno, Nevada   April 29th, 2008 5:08 pm ET

I live in Missouri. This is the most racist place in the country period. I'm not surprised at all that another old racist White Person is voting for clinton. Just like all the racist black people in St. Louis voted for Obama. This country is so divided and yet we can't see past our differences to elect a president civil like.

I cannot believe that Obama said those things today about his own preacher. I feel so sorry for Obama. How do you throw your own preacher under the bus. This man was your preacher for 20 years. He married you to your wife. He baptized your children. He let the media and his own supporters make him throw his pasture under the bus. This is a very sad day. He will cry later on after he realizes what he has done.

Voting against the will of the people will be an interesting explination for superdelegates.

The longer this story is given legs, the more of a laughingstock we appear to the rest of the world. Hasn't there been enough of that since the Election Follies of '00????

lulu   April 29th, 2008 4:30 pm ET

Had the media done just a tiny bit of investigative journalism back in December, Obama would have been back in Chicago by now. For months this man was shoved down our throats to the point that people were tuning in FOX news and turning off CNN and MSNBC for the bias Obama coverage. Now that the tables are turning and America is FINALLY seeing the vetting of this man, all isn't what it appears. Obama is a decent man and will make a good president one day, but now is not his time. His inexperience is showing not only in the company he keeps, but in the debates, too. This country is ready for both a female president and a black president. Let the lady go first, Obama, and you'll reap the rewards at a later time.

Texican   April 29th, 2008 4:30 pm ET

John   April 29th, 2008 4:27 pm ET

Perhaps Rep. Skelton is of the same thinking as those of us who know that from a practical political standpoint, Sen. Clinton has won primaries in states that any candidate must win in November to win the Electoral College. Sen. Clinton has won in contests that included Democrats and Independents, key constituencies needed in November. Her opponent has won contests that included anyone, even Republicans. I have heard of people changing registration from Republican to Democrat or unaffiliated to vote in the upcoming North Carolina primary! Hasn't it occurred to anyone besides me that maybe the Republicans are trying to help Sen. Clinton's rival with the notion that he would be easier to defeat in November???

Rove is offering Sen. Clinton's Democratic opponent advice. I doubt he has defected the Republican party!!!

We need more Superdelegates like Rep. Skelton.

Blue   April 29th, 2008 4:27 pm ET

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Oh that's right, Obama said he didn't do it, his campaign tossed the stones.

To all the Clinton haters, take a step back & look in the mirror. The last few blogs have been full of hate and bigotry. I hope this is not what we have to look forward to IF Obama wins the nomination. You are not helping to sway us Clinton supporters if necessary in the general election.

The Superdelegates can vote for whomever they choose.

Barb   April 29th, 2008 4:27 pm ET

Thanks, President Hillary will make us all proud to be an American, again.

Rick   April 29th, 2008 4:27 pm ET

While the Clinton News Network touts the Gallup Poll, the daily Rasmussen poll shows Obama still with an 8 point lead over Hillary (49-41). His lead has been pretty steady each day for the last several weeks. Contrast that to January 1, 2008 when Rasmussen had Hilary with an 18 point lead (41-23). Funny, Hillary hasn't moved since 1/1/08.

Guess it's just a matter of which poll CNN wants to highlight.

LAUGHING   April 29th, 2008 4:26 pm ET

TIDE STANDS STILL–OBAMA IS GAINING AT 2:1 RATIO...
SORRY CLINTON SUPPORTERS-ONE MORE ISN'T GOING TO CUT IT

Henry   April 29th, 2008 4:26 pm ET

I'm a Clinton supporter. I'm young. I'm in college. And I'm not white. Nor am I a woman.

Stop picking at stereotypes. Both sides.

And Pol, don't put down those who didn't go to college. It's degrading and it makes a fool out of yourself.

Tammy - KCMO   April 29th, 2008 4:24 pm ET

One more idiot in the Missouri government. Gee what a surprise!

Farrell, Houston, Tx   April 29th, 2008 4:24 pm ET

Skelton like Clinton is part of the "old" politics as usual White House gang. If we truly want a government for the people and by the people we must support Obama.

Ostriches burying our heads in the sand   April 29th, 2008 4:24 pm ET

Rep. Ike Skelton can pick whichever candidate he likes....but what's interesting is how lots of HRC supporters have come out with drums and cymbals to coronate their candidate........In your candidate's words, "let all the states vote first"..........don't count your chickens before they hatch.......

Pennsylvania   April 29th, 2008 4:24 pm ET

Standing Up For Hillary!
GO HILLARY!

VA Republican   April 29th, 2008 4:24 pm ET

welcome to the train wreck

Key West Sun   April 29th, 2008 4:24 pm ET

Rep Skelton get on the bus, don't blame you for getting on the Obama bus. Folk's Obama bus is wrecked and on fire. Man he is having a firesale, but it is to late. He knew Rev Wright for 20 years and now he is trying to sell that he has changed since Sunday. There was nothing new in what the good Rev said in the last two days. This is just the man he was and still is, Obama knew and now he is trying to act surprised. From now on everything out of Obama mouth needs to be taken as a lie. This man is playing us for a bunch of fools. Pack up and go home,,,,we are not buying your slick talking bull no more.

Paul   April 29th, 2008 4:24 pm ET

Great choice, you know that Obama is a loser, he threw his own grandmother under the bus to defend Rev Wright

Now Wright has stood by his comments....

Obama, you may need a few more years of mentoring from your Pastor

Hillary 08- Yes she will!!!

truth be told   April 29th, 2008 4:24 pm ET

to stephen – oh, yeah? look who's ahead by 133 delegates? your candidate is grasping at straws with no net to catch her, don't you think?

North Carolina   April 29th, 2008 4:24 pm ET

Thank you, Rep. Skelton! As a Clinton supporter in NC, I'm grateful for your recognition that Clinton is indeed the better candidate before our vote on the 6th.

Susan MO   April 29th, 2008 4:23 pm ET

Thank you Ike Skelton!!

You have endorsed a winner!

AKRON, OHIO OBOMA SUPPORTER   April 29th, 2008 4:23 pm ET

thanks to the two latest super delegates for supporting oboma. Oboma will be a # one good president and the USA neeeeds this. super delegates keep those endorsements flowing in. you want be sorry

b-liberal   April 29th, 2008 4:23 pm ET

I am always impressed by someone brave like this. He will now face the Obama followers and camp hate speech. He will be called racist, clueless, media-driven. Let's check out the comments here and see if I am right...

In spite of the cult, the whining race cards, the money, the connections, the caucus and vote engineering, the lies, Hillary is hanging tough.

She is the type of tough liberal we need to turn the Bush cowboy mentality around.

Go Hillary!

NC voter   April 29th, 2008 4:22 pm ET

Yahooooooooooooooooooooooo

:-)

David   April 29th, 2008 4:22 pm ET

Who is Rev. William Procanick ! Hillary's rev. who molested a 8 year old girl! Let's get this in the press! She should denounce him and the press should take this how she would take the lead as president.

Jack in ND   April 29th, 2008 4:22 pm ET

So since Pennsylvania:

Obama – 7

Clinton – 4

Michael from Notre Dame   April 29th, 2008 4:22 pm ET

Isn't it funny that when a superdel from a state that voted for Hillary picks Obama, the Clinton supporters bash him or her for not siding with the people of his or her state, but when a superdel from an Obama state picks Hillary, her supporters are ecstatic with joy. Kinda hypocritical if you ask me.

yen   April 29th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

Well other super deligates, come and support obama. America will heal. Hillary and rev.wright are divisive.

Mike   April 29th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

THANK YOU Sir. You are above the race politics.

A Grandmother   April 29th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

Missouri loves and respects Ike because of his honesty and committment to the military. this is a big deal. Claire you made a BIG mistake.

Mack   April 29th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

Thank goodness the Democrat party is awaking to reality and starting to support the candidate that can beat McCain in the General Election. Sen. Hillary Clinton is the strongest Democrat candidate.

Lynn   April 29th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

Mr. Skelton could see the writing on the wall – Obama is unelectable!!!!!

truth be told   April 29th, 2008 4:20 pm ET

let us all remember that even if hillary wins indiana or any other remaining states (doubtly), she has to win each one by a margin of no less than 40%. otherwise, she's cooked.

i love it when her minions gloat when a superdelegate endorses her. remember that she was ahead by over 120 SDs not too long ago and it's now down to 22 (?). this should sting.

Jack in ND   April 29th, 2008 4:20 pm ET

It's nice that the trickle has become a steady drip since Pennsylvania, but if it's just going to see saw back and forth, we still aren't getting anywhere fast.

Cooper   April 29th, 2008 4:19 pm ET

It was expected. 30 years of service for this? Ummmmmm. God bless you.

mama4obama   April 29th, 2008 4:19 pm ET

Old and used up for the old and used up. The old saying...you cant teach an old dog new tricks.....this applies here.

In case you havent noticed sir....this country is in the crapper....and you are part of the problem.

AZM   April 29th, 2008 4:18 pm ET

Thank you Rev Wright...
It will get worse tomorrow... People are running from this guy and those Supers who announced Obama are regretting it by now.

Bye Bye Obama... take your hate groups with you!

Boye   April 29th, 2008 4:18 pm ET

Congratulations Sen. Clinton. Let's see more supers make up their minds, although I wish we get more supporters for Obama :D

Vietnam vet for Obama!   April 29th, 2008 4:18 pm ET

Hillary lives! And 2008 will go down in history as the "year of the living dead" in politics. It will be great fodder for horror movies, with dinosaurs like Skelton in supporting roles. Best viewed with a boilermaker in hand, and hunkered down to avoid sniper fire in the theater (or living room).

Obama will be the next president.

Cindy in California   April 29th, 2008 4:18 pm ET

Who cares

George, Los Angeles   April 29th, 2008 4:17 pm ET

Thank you Rep. Skelton. YES! Finally! People are seeing through Barack Obama. Hillary Clinton is the best choice for President.

Hillary 2008 and 2012!

Stephen   April 29th, 2008 4:17 pm ET

Obama is sinking faster than the titanic

Tejano   April 29th, 2008 4:17 pm ET

It's the media's fault. They keep picking at Obama and now he is losing delegates left and right.. Mostly right, the left is still with him ,hahaha.

So much for change and hope. Now I know McCain will be the winner in November.

Rob   April 29th, 2008 4:17 pm ET

Yeah that same PPP poll said Obama was leading in PA. So why you put that in your pipe and smoke it.

28 year old White MAN in FLORIDA   April 29th, 2008 4:17 pm ET

Bad news for clinton

In the landmark civil fraud case against Bill Clinton in Los Angeles, where the former President is charged with defrauding a Hollywood dot com millionaire to help Hillary Clinton obtain more than $1.2 million from him for her 2000 Senate campaign, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Aurelio Munoz ruled on Friday, April 25 that Hillary Clinton would not be required to testify in a sworn deposition as a material witness in the case until AFTER the November election!

Why wont CNN be fair… hillary clintons pastor just was charged with child molestion for touching a 7 year old girl her pastor name is Rev. William Procanick …. and why isnt cnn reporting the peter paul vs.. clinton case…. 17 million dollar law suit that they have aginst them…. in cally…..

Mike   April 29th, 2008 4:17 pm ET

I like Ike!!!!!

Welcome to the winning team. Obama can move in with Wright, Ayers, Hamas and Rezko in a post losing slumber party.

Pol   April 29th, 2008 4:17 pm ET

Why all Clinton's supporters are so ugly? Don't moderate – I did not say CORRUPTED. Why Clinton supporters are surprised that people don't like her? Don't moderate – I did not say HATED. Clinton supporters are old and not educated – guys, you are her playground. Please, go to a college, educate yourself (by the way Obama will give you 4,000$ for education). And after that you will easily figure out who Clintons are. So simple. Go ahead!

No Hillary   April 29th, 2008 4:17 pm ET

All the generation of old politician that like "Washington as usual" will go for Clinton. Thanks god there are not many of them.

Rep Ike you are out of touch and irrelevant. This race is already over.

Fay (the Young Texan who voted for Obama)   April 29th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

Funny how all the old dried up has beens are pulling in her corner. If she gets the nomination that's going to suck when she can't get anyone over the age of 55 to vote for her. Hmmm....

kate, NM   April 29th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

It's too late for Clinton and McCain is the president, period.

Barb   April 29th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

I have been voting in every election for the last 50 years and once again I will vote come November. Althouhg registered as an Independent during the primary (NH) I was for all of 10 minutes a Democrat and supported Barack Obama. I will still vote for him if he is the nominee but the way the medica is butchering him and giving Hillary a free ride (Paul vs Clinton) it appears that he may not make it. The last time I did not like a single candidate that was running for president I voted for Ross Pero. This time I do not have that choice so guess I will write in NON OF THE ABOVE (McCain, Clinton or Nader).

Dusacre   April 29th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

Ratio 2 to 2. At this speed 4 super delegates in 2 days, this thing will be wrapped up in June.

No Hillary   April 29th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

Uncle Sam   April 29th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

Is that the tide I hear turning?

Cammi317   April 29th, 2008 4:15 pm ET

That's 2 to 2 and Obama still holds the lead. One more thing to the Clinton supporters.....Clinton cannot win without the Obama supporters either. I directed this to the Clinton supporters because they are the ones screaming Obama cannot beat McCain. This unelectable thing that you all keep sputtering runs both ways. Think about it. If we all cannot come together as Democrats to support the nominee whomever he or she may be, another Republican will be in the White House in January. If you are truly Democrat, you will vote accordingly.

Bayou Joe   April 29th, 2008 4:14 pm ET

The skeltons are out of the closet. I like Ike. He knows a winner when he sees one. Goodbye Obama, don't let the door hit you in the derrier.

Clinton or McCain. Real Americans for America. God Bless the USA

Seth (FL)   April 29th, 2008 4:14 pm ET

Funny that they are saying "Clinton now has a 22 super delegate lead."

That's down from what it was last week, the week before that, the week before that, and so on. Obama is picking up delegates on a 2:1 ratio.

joyce, NC   April 29th, 2008 4:13 pm ET

Great, it's good to see super delegates are starting to make up their minds – and not get swayed by fad.
Vote with your conscience. Look into the best interest of the country and not get pressured by bullies.

Hilary is what this country needs. We can't afford another newbie in the White House. Sorry Obama, I do like you but it is not your time yet.

maya   April 29th, 2008 4:13 pm ET

Good for you Hillary!

Obamabots- man up. Don't blame your Wright grief on Hillary or anyone else.

Obama lacks judgment.

v.ananthan   April 29th, 2008 4:12 pm ET

Thank you.
A poll by PPP showing Hillary is leading Obama by 8 points in Indiana...

Alice   April 29th, 2008 4:12 pm ET

c'mon Obama – release a few more superdelegates ...

Independent   April 29th, 2008 4:12 pm ET

Good for him. He picked the losing team, but whatever.

Ok, here come all the people whining about either (a) how his state went for Obama, or (b) how he should have done it earlier, or (c) how this shows that Hillary Clinton is going to win, which anyone with half a brain knows isn't true.

Sigh. I hope this crap ends soon.
