Clinton adds third new superdelegate in 24 hours

(CNN) – Pennsylvania AFL-CIO president and superdelegate Bill George announced his support for Hillary Clinton Wednesday.

“Hillary Clinton has the strength and experience to jumpstart the economy and rebuild the middle class,” George said in a statement released by Clinton's presidential campaign. “Working families in Pennsylvania overwhelmingly favored her in last week’s primary, and I feel that she is our strongest candidate to carry Pennsylvania in November and win back the White House.”

George, a Democratic National Committee member since 1996, had been actively courted by Clinton and Democratic rival Barack Obama in advance of his state’s primary last week. Clinton and Obama both addressed the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO convention earlier this month. Clinton defeated Obama in Pennsylvania's April 22 primary.

See the next article. Obama also added 3 supers in 24 hours. So Hillary's shortfall remains the same.

Obama can not win the general in November. Perhaps a republican president with an overwhelmingly democrat congress will suffice for the next four years – at least until we get this Obama aberration out of our political system. Maybe a much better black candidate will come along by then. Personally I would much prefer Ford of Tennessee.

All of this is pointless – Obama sealed his loss in the general election by lying to us about his beliefs and relationship with the reverend. I'm glad the reverend spoke out – Obama threw him under the bus instead of taking on the issue head on. Same old Washington politics, indeed.

When unions support Obama it freshens and strengthens their image; when they support Clinton, it looks like a tight t-shirt over a potbelly.

It doesn't matter whether anyone thinks Obama cannot win the general. He is going to be the nominee, and if the true Democrats vote for the candidate that best suits their interests, Obama will win. On the other hand, if you're determined not to vote for him based on the stupid sensationalism that the media has put out there, then you deserve whatever McCain gives you.

I am an Obama supporter, but I still welcome this decision from a superdelegate. Rest of the superdelegates, please make your choice known NOW, no matter who you are supporting. We got to finalize our nominee asap.
