Clinton calls Wright comments 'offensive and outrageous'

 Clinton sharply criticized Wright Wednesday.
Clinton sharply criticized Wright Wednesday.

(CNN) - Hillary Clinton said Wednesday she personally took offense to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright's recent comments, the New York senator’s harshest assessment yet of Barack Obama's former minister.

"I think it’s offensive and outrageous. I’m going to express my opinion, others can express theirs," Clinton told Fox’s Bill O'Reilly. "It is part of just, you know, an atmosphere we’re in today.”

The comments appear to be a shift in Clinton’s tone on the matter. On Tuesday she criticized Republican presidential nominee John McCain for not doing enough to stop Republican ads running in North Carolina and Mississippi that feature Wright's comments.

"I regret the efforts by the Republicans to politicize this matter," Clinton said of the ad.

Speaking at the National Press Club Monday, Wright did not back down from some of his controversial remarks, including those that seemed to suggest the U.S. government might be responsible for the spread of AIDS among African-Americans, and his equation of U.S. wartime efforts with terrorism.

Wright also said Obama was acting like a politician in denouncing his controversial sermons.

Speaking with reporters Tuesday, Obama said he was outraged with Wright's latest comments.

"What particularly angered me was his suggestion somehow that my previous denunciation of his remarks were somehow political posturing," Obama said, adding that Wright had shown "little regard for me" and seemed more concerned with "taking center stage."

Obama also said Wright's comments were not only "divisive and destructive," but they "end up giving comfort to those who prey on hate."

Hillary you are pathetic with your B Reynolds manipulated support for Wrights hate message. You then have the audacity to say you are offended. Lets focus less on crazy pastors who dont represent a great President in the waiting in Obama, and now have you properly vetted in the upcoming Peter Paul financial disgrace which is only ONE of your many lies.

Clinton takes a different opinion only because the report has come out that a supporter of hers invited him to the press club.

    Too little, too late.

    Quick question for Clinton supporters:

With only a handful of states left, why is it that North Carolina isn't a 'must win' state for her? Why is it being made out that Indiana (with 72 delegates) is somehow more important than North Carolina (with 115 delegates)?

Thanks for your answers in advance!

funny how she denounces McCain and the republicans one day, then the very next she takes their tactics, I have constantly expressed the parallels of Hillary and the republicans. She seems to do and say anything to tarnish Obama's good name. The controversy of Wright didn't have the full effect she would have liked, so now she begins or malignant campaigning with the May 6th primaries looming. Lets not forget the dealings of the child abuse from Hillary's pastor. C'mon people, we are all smarter than power hungry Hillary

What could be more hypocritical or stupid to say to O'Reilly that someone else's statements are offensive. Has she finally admitted that she is really a republican??? Or did she also say somewhere that O'Reilly's statements are offensive and we just missed it?

Enough with the Obama attack DOGS.

Everyone in the country is EXPRESSING their opinion about that NUT JOB Rev Wright.

And most everyone thinks Wright's latest comments were offensive. Didn't you listen to your candidate use strong language to condemn the remarks during his belated press conference?

So why attack Hillary for expressing her opinion when asked directly?
Her comments were not nearly as harsh as Obama's on this subject.

What a soap opera - Stop the DRAMA - DITCH Obama!

Opinions are like noses, everyone has one! Who cares about Rev. Wright he is just one man with an opinion. The media keeps him in the spot light solely for political reasons as if what he says is newsworthy. Stop the madness! Hillary should be worrying about her and Bill's campaign fraud court date, now that's news, huh CNN?

As I look back at the remarks of Rev. Wright, I would like to note that yes he was totally wrong and out lf line for making the remarks about, God D – – – America, AIDS, and that the chickens have come home to roost. None of it was new to us or Obama.

What the press needs to realise is that as soon as the Rev. stated that, “Politicians say what they say and do what they do based on electability, based on sound bites, based on polls,” Wright told the Press Club. “Preachers say what they say because they’re pastors. . . . I do what pastors do. [Obama] does what politicians do,” he was asking the Amertican people think, is Barack Obama telling them {American people} the truth about himself.

What Wright was saying is that he knows, based on his long personal relationship with Obama, that Obama agrees with him but can’t say so publicly for political reasons.

Thank you Hillary. It is good to see the democrats on the same page. Let's come together now. Both candidates are outstanding leaders that we need to help our country move forward. Let's close ranks and point out the Wright's behavior was offensive to all, democrats and republicans alike.

I love it that everytime she says something on this matter Obama lovers start yelling that it is her fault – How funny.. She was asked a question and she answered. And they need to know this will drag on thru a general election and it is the tip of the iceberg of Obama's issues and troubles. Then they can start telling someone else to shut up. Obama fever is slowing down and reality is coming into play.

Hillary is right and says what she feels. Why are Obama supporters protecting this crazy pastor? You are blind to everything that Obama has against him. You are willing to send him against McCain in November even though you know that he risks a lot more than Hillary and his chances are slim.

We need you now more than ever Hillary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
