Mum's the word for Michelle on Rev. Wright

CNN

Listen to the Obama's remarks Wednesday.

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (CNN) –- Democrat Barack Obama's wife Michelle chose silence Wednesday when the couple were asked about recent comments made by their former pastor, and the harsh words Sen. Obama had for him Tuesday.

In a question-and-answer session with voters, the two were asked what kind of toll it takes on them to have to turn their backs on someone who had been good to them in the past.

Sen. Obama responded first, saying he "made a statement yesterday that was hard to make."

"What we want to do now though is to make sure that this doesn’t continue to be a perpetual distraction," he said.

Then he turned to his other half.

"Michelle, do you have anything to add to that?" After a brief hesitation he said, "You do, but..." He stopped and smiled as she shook her head.

The audience laughed.

"Remember, there are a lot of reporters around," he said, joining in the laughter.

Watch Michelle Obama speak out tonight in an interview with CNN's Suzanne Malveaux at 8:20 p.m. ET, with an extended version airing at on AC 360 at 10 p.m. ET

  1. Cosmic Comedy Queen Go Hillary!!!

I guess during her hiatus she had her foot surgically taken out of her mouth so she wouldn't make any more dumb and stupid comments, gosh, is there a spot for her on Sat Nite Live or Comedy Central why they both 'splain away why they sat in this guy's church, Rev. Wright who said all of the wrong things, gosh, I wonder what they would say and try to 'splain away if they are really doing international diplomatic relations...

why don't you cover the ABC story Magnequench – Factories Closed During Clinton Presidency. If this was Obama you would be all over it. Also, check out the $10,000.00 raised for Ben Chandler who was attacked for endorsing Obama. Travis Childers should check out the Dailykos and see what downticket support can do!

I don't care if you corporate owned talking heads post this all that I ask is you try to act like journalists for a minute and report it. We all know once you cannot keep the drama of the primary going your ratings will tank!

Oh, my goodness! And no matter what the Obama supporters say, it was his own doing. He created this demise for himself. Sorry Obama, but the Clinton supporters and Sen. Clinton saw this one coming.

I find it funny that the Obama supporters are all asking Obama to become negative on Hillary now, something they once bragged that their candidate did not do. What a bunch of posers.

Now is the time to be rally behind our democratic candidate...Sen. Hillary Clinton.

She was born in Illinois, she spent summers in Pennsylvania, her late 30's in Arkansas and her early 40's in Washington D.C. After that she became a well respected Sen. from New York, working with both parties to bring about productive legislation for the people.

She is a woman; an intelligent human being with flaws just like the rest of us, but she is ready to lead the country. She knows how to play the cruel and unusual games of politics which will help her win the General election, something she's been saying all along. Sometimes you've gotta lose some to win some. Her 'win' is taking the U.S. towards a better direction, a direction with a thriving economy, just like in the 90's. If anyone has a problem with that must be crazy.

The ideals are wonderful, but one has to put those ideals to practical use. Give her the chance to do so.

    How realistic can we get!!

Why has Hillary not been dragged to the press to explain

    1. The actual Bosnia event. We still need the truth from her

    2. The NAFTA deal by Bill, and the gains they are now making from those past deals ($109 million)?

    3. Why she is still married to an president who was impeached in this nation (lots of sexual scandals).

    and the list goes on

    CNN:
I find it very interestiing that I have left several comments, and nothing appears. Hmmmm! I gues I shouldn't be so pro-Obama. I see the Hillary people get a lot of play, maybe they have a friend on the CNN Net. All that aside, in my view I would rather stick with a man who has intergrity over a person who has been caught in many lies and falsehoods (Hillary and BIll). If Hillary can answer these questions then I would consider voting for her.. Why did you and your husband really support NAFTA? Why is your husband getting $800k for a deal with Columbia, yet you say you are against the trade deal? How can you talk of ethics and truth yet you lied about Bosinia and said you mispoke on 7 occasions? Why did you not talk about Bill's other affiars prior to becoming President? Why do you shop for the African American vote, yet send your people out to throw them under the bus? OBTW... African Americans will not be taken for granted by you this time. Old fashioned politics. If people would only research the Chicago Election of Harold Washington, people would find out that so called loyal democtrats voted against the Black Mayoral candidate. However, fair and ethical people of all races, and genders voted for Mayor Washington. Obama will be the National embodyment of Harold Washington... go Obama '08

I AM FOLLOWING THE ELECTIONS IN ZIMBABWE AND THE USA AND AM AMAZED HOW SIMILAR THE TACTICS USED BY HILLARY'S CAMAPAIGN AND THOSE USED BY MUGABE'S ZANU-PF ARE. PERHAPS THE DIFFERENCE IS THAT MUGABE IS A DICTATOR WHO DOES NOT WANT TO LET GO OF THE FACT THAT HE LOST THE ELECTIONS.

Enough already, I'm sick of hearing about Rev. Wright. He has had his 15 minutes of fame. Let's hear why Senator Clinton has not denounced, rejected, the billionaire Bob Johnson after he made a racist remark about Senator Obama. Bob Johnson said he supports her because he has been offered a position if she wins. She continues to take donations from him and appeared with him at a function Monday night in N.C. The last thing we need is the Clintons back in the White House.

  17. to the newbies- again

You are so sick of hearing about Rev. Wright?

    OMG- a few days.

We Clinton supporters are tired of your Monicafication of all the issues.
That is SO old... 10 years. So why not let that go and give Wright a 10 year Spin?

It doesn't really matter who suffers, right? Oh the Clintons are fair game- they are out there on the campaign trail. Wasn't that your line with Chelsea? Well so it is, little ones. Obama is out there on the campaign trail. All the questions about Wright are fair game.

So be patient... maybe in 10 years no one will bring Wright up- for no reason whatsoever.

The Obama's should be ashamed. I hope his political aspirations are worth all of this. They betrayed the church and the people that supported them for 20 years. Proof that he used Trinity to get ahead politically. Proof of this man's judgement and character.

He doesn't want this to be a distraction. Who the hell cares what he wants, this must be aired 24/7 all the way to the convention, and if he is the nominee, all the way to Nov 4th election. This obama freak and his circle of friends are dangerous dangerous. Rev.Wright, William Ayers, That Dorn woman, Louis Farrakhan, and whoever else is still lurking in the shadows. Wake up America

Every word from the Obama's are under intense review by Hillary and the Republicans. This is sad that Edward's wife can say what she thinks but Obama's wife must stay silent. Hmmm…

I love this woman… Bill would have run off at the mouth.

Its clear that the Obama's are hurt by their former pastor… I'm glad they faced the issue head on and arent dealing with it any more.

Of course they are silent. If they can't whine about something they can't speak at all. I am waiting with great anticipation however, to hear when Michelle will be proud to be American for the SECOND time in her life. I think we should all leave poor Barack alone and let him eat his waffle. And flip off the wait staff. Hillary 08 & '12. Chelsea '16
