Mum's the word for Michelle on Rev. Wright

CNN

Listen to the Obama's remarks Wednesday.

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (CNN) –- Democrat Barack Obama's wife Michelle chose silence Wednesday when the couple were asked about recent comments made by their former pastor, and the harsh words Sen. Obama had for him Tuesday.

In a question-and-answer session with voters, the two were asked what kind of toll it takes on them to have to turn their backs on someone who had been good to them in the past.

Sen. Obama responded first, saying he "made a statement yesterday that was hard to make."

"What we want to do now though is to make sure that this doesn’t continue to be a perpetual distraction," he said.

Then he turned to his other half.

"Michelle, do you have anything to add to that?" After a brief hesitation he said, "You do, but..." He stopped and smiled as she shook her head.

The audience laughed.

"Remember, there are a lot of reporters around," he said, joining in the laughter.

Watch Michelle Obama speak out tonight in an interview with CNN's Suzanne Malveaux at 8:20 p.m. ET, with an extended version airing at on AC 360 at 10 p.m. ET

We've had to bare the preaching and lecturing from the Obamas for the past several months. We've been spoken to as if we were children. We've been spoken down to. We've been mishandled and insulted by those who support him. Anyone who opposes him is misguided, racist, a moron, uneducated, and any number of other things I've read on the blogs. Michelle Obama has done any number of talk and platform shows. She's has constantly pontificated from Mount Obama as to how we should think and feel and making an attempt to manipulate public opinion as to why it's anything but the world's dumbest mistake if we don't let her hsuband have his way in this matter. Obama goes as far as bowling with people he'd never ever have anything to do with in a failed attempt to garner blue collar votes in Pennsylvania. None of his people said anything. Had it been Senator Clinton, it would have been ridiculed. Just this past weekend, he actually plays basketball with a WNBA player. How many times does Senator Obama do this? Is this part of his normal schedule or what? Today, Obama's big speech is being slowly vetted to contrast the stupidity of that hurried speech he made regarding Rev. Wright's appearance, downplaying it as a "spectacle". Just a couple of months ago, this man was a trusted advisor. Then, he was distanced, but not denounced as he was like "family." Today, bot Obamas are struck dumb on the subject of this like family-former advisor-spritual advisor-former pastor for 20 years and baptizer of their family and the person who performed their wedding vows. For the first time, they're both silent, and his supporters want the world to look the other way. Ridiculousness.

You're the one that needs to shut your big trap. Based on all the grammatical errors in your post, I'd say you're the last person to worry about insults to your intelligence. We could never insult YOUR intelligence because you're not playing with a full deck of cards, anyway.

I would be rallying to the side of the Obama family...

But they trashed the Clintons... again and again... played the race card for no good reason... ran untrue ads about Clinton's platform...

Obama mocked Hillary... with Annie Oakley.

Obama brushed Hillary and 14 million of her supporters off his shoulders.

So, now... well... I forgive, but I will never forget and I will not vote for you. Why? The hypocrisy of your hype of hope.

    In a word: ridiculous...

The Obamas are the most deceptive and artificial people in the race today. They have been preaching change and the value of good judgment, honesty and good will.

And now... Rev. Wright speaks his mind (the only honest person in this whole issue – even if I do not agree with him at any point) and the Obamas go into "damage control mode". Suddenly people behind the scene are trying to silence Rev. Wright (to prevent the guy from speaking his mind)... Obama pretends to be shocked (how naive!) and Michele is the perfect wife: silent as if she were from Stepford.

    WAKE UP AMERICA!

    Tee,

You are obviously not a Catholic. Priests did not molest children in front of their parishioners, but the Rev. Wright spewed hateful vitriol in FRONT of his congregation for all to hear! and what is truly sad, they approved of what he said. Catholics did NOT aprove in the same way J. Wright's people did! Big difference.

I am sorry that Rev. Wright's continuing comments have introduced racism into this race in such a negative way. My gr gr gr fa [from Kentucky] died at Andersonville because he believed that slavery was not fair. [He was white.] So many white and black people in this country have suffered from exploitation. Look at the new wave immigrants who died in the factories and the mines. In the 1900 and 1910 censuses, the mortality rates for those adults and their children were higher than comparable mortality rates in the South. There have been good white churches and synagogues and biased ones; but there have also been good black churches as well as biased ones. I am so sorry that a narcissistic pastor, such as Rev. Wright has become such a divisive figure; however, Barack and Michele Obama were not forced to be members of his church. I wouldn't have stood for his liberation theology for 2 Sundays, whether I was black or white.

Corporate owned media attacks the one presidential canidate that doesn't pander to corporations. Hummm. coincedence. Nope. We can never have another honest president. Face it people, America is now the bad guys and you know what happens to the bad guy at the end of the movie. I truly think this is one of God's tests. He puts three choices before you to see what matters more to you; your own shallow fears or your integrity. America will make it's choice and we will have to ALL deal with it. Why do you think every nation in the world wants Obama as president? They see the choices unfiltered by corporate owned media outlets maybe. And for those of you who say "who cars what the world thinks". Think about how the world warned us not to go into Iraq.

Sen. Obama responded first, saying he "made a statement yesterday that was hard to make."

why was it so hard for Obama to state that he is breaking his ties with a man who said such terrible things about Americans and the US. Have you folks noticed that Obama's style is to stay neutral is so many ways for as long as he can? all the present votes, and now this; not standing up against Wright until he was forced to. Do you really believe he had no clue to Wright's beliefs, personality and extreme views for 20 years, or did Wright all of a sudden become this outspoken narcissist?

She talked about the race speech that Obama made but they are the first ones to say that race is not an issue. She just like her husband and real scarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy for the WH. She not even proud to be American!! She play like she all for the people but like Mr Rick Wilson said the skeletons keep jumping out of the closet and we as the American people should and demand to know because we do not want him as our President.
She keep saying that they the underdog in the race..stop trying to play on the American peoples sympathy because it got old real quick!!

  22. After All This Drama

After all this drama Hillary STILL can't put him away! She is a weak candidate. Republicans will not vote for her and Independents don't want her. If Hillary was in this position she would be crying by now.

With the right wing media , bill, Hillary and Rev. Wright all attacking him , he still keeps his composure – NOW THAT'S PRESIDENTIAL !!!

Go Obama, show them how a man stands tall through adversity !!!

When she said that this is the first time in my life I have been proud of my country I lost any interest in anything she had to say.
Maybe Obama never heard what Wright was preaching but she certainly sounds as if she did.
