Mum's the word for Michelle on Rev. Wright

CNN

Listen to the Obama's remarks Wednesday.

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (CNN) –- Democrat Barack Obama's wife Michelle chose silence Wednesday when the couple were asked about recent comments made by their former pastor, and the harsh words Sen. Obama had for him Tuesday.

In a question-and-answer session with voters, the two were asked what kind of toll it takes on them to have to turn their backs on someone who had been good to them in the past.

Sen. Obama responded first, saying he "made a statement yesterday that was hard to make."

"What we want to do now though is to make sure that this doesn’t continue to be a perpetual distraction," he said.

Then he turned to his other half.

"Michelle, do you have anything to add to that?" After a brief hesitation he said, "You do, but..." He stopped and smiled as she shook her head.

The audience laughed.

"Remember, there are a lot of reporters around," he said, joining in the laughter.

Watch Michelle Obama speak out tonight in an interview with CNN's Suzanne Malveaux at 8:20 p.m. ET, with an extended version airing at on AC 360 at 10 p.m. ET

I think every Democrat and Independent should count their stars because when you really think about all the stuff about Obama is already out there. But you have to ask if this is the worst that could happen to him then this is nothing.

The truth is John McCain and HIliary Clinton have hidden agendas that will make Barrack Obama's problems look like last years's back page news.

Let not forget, Senator Obama has ran the best campaigne in the history of this country. His campaigne managed to bring more people into the electorial process than any other candidate ever. He has a mild temper, and I believe he has a genuie concern for mankind. We should not let Rev Wright or anyone else define who we are. if we let this moment slip away we will always wonder what could have been.

Remember his opponents are good friends and they think alike and much with the same values Just think, if you are voting for one or the other you are simply just voting for the same.

    Think about it.

I adore Michael Moore for speaking out without fear of the press. It is so nice of a man to get past the racial stuiff and be real! The press needs to try to understand, instaed of taking partial comments and tristing them to their fancy to confuse the public. It is clear what side the media plays. So sad. It's not about Rev. Wright or Obama, it is about having their way and shaping minds. They sound like a bunch of cry babies, that feelings are deeply hurt!

It is so funny that people think it is ok for Bill to defend Hillary with all of her sniper lies. Let me just tell, Michelle will support her spouse as well as she should. It is called for better or for worse. All of you thought Hillary was stupid for staying with Bill now she is the best thing since slice bread.

I would just much rather people be honest and say you dont want him as president because he is black. Then we can truly get back to the issues at hand. Superdelegates like that he doesnt have to lie and put up dirty ads or answer certain questions when the situation arises.

But let's just do the Math!!! THAT determines the nominee!!

    Go Obama!!!!!

When she is allowed to speak again...it will be well scripted and of course not honest....when she was honest about not having pride in her country the Obama power hungry crowd saw what a liability she would be....Can you imagine this loose lipped woman loose on the world stage? One can only shudder to think who she would offend by her silliness.

I agree with "Tee" (viewer 's comments, above). We did not (and do not) point the finger at Catholic families who attended churches where the "Father" molested boys, do we? NO!!! We do not! This is really ridiculous to try to hold Barack OBama accountable for his Pastor's personal/private views that he has now made public. This is exactly why we need a President who CARES about how people are treated and regarded. Catholic paishioners are not blamed for the personal dealings of the "Father" and neither should Barack Obama have to stand for questions about his Pastor's personal beliefs. The only people who are enjoying this craziness are folks who view chaos as a form of entertainment. Rev. Wright has nothing to do with politics (PERIOD!). Let's get on to what MATTERS in POLITICS!

Wow. As I look at the comments above mine, I find myself wondering:

IF Michelle Obama really DID say that America is a mean country, how could all of you out there torching her now, torch her for THAT? We ARE a mean country–look at yourselves.

I'm so impressed that so many people are so skilled at looking directly into the heart of Michelle Obama, and are exposing all of her weaknesses and hatreds for America. Of course, it's also possible that many of you are too weak-minded to see the difference between objective fact and your own made-up excuses for hating someone. Never too hard to find some rationalization for hatred.

The biggest problem that Michelle Obama has right now, is that her husband and her are high-quality people with character and intellect. And it's easy to hate something you can't possibly understand; all you have to do is re-arrange the words and hear whatever you want to justify the hate.

We don't need a change of leadership in Washington, so much as we need a huge investment in new diapers for a whole bunch of you writing on this board.

Would you consider voting for David Duke for president?

What if he ran and even though he sat in klan meetings and listened to their rhetoric for years but he now strongly denounces it and because the media makes a bigger issue of it he has left the klan altogether.

What if he has a slumlord friend by the name of Leona Helmsley that contributes to him, however he does not denounce her and admits making shady business deals including his own house.

What if he has a terrorist friend that bombed a federal building and killed children in the blast by the name of Timothy McVeigh. He doesn’t denounce him either and even co-chairs an organization with him. Even attends a party held by Timothy in his honor to launch his campaign. David says that Timothy blew up the Oklahoma building long before he knew him and should not mean anything.

What if David was endorsed by the neo-Nazi party and their affiliates worldwide. He denounces them even though his ex-grand dragon klan leader published articles from the nazi parties while he attended and paid money supporting his klan group.

However despite all this what if David Duke promotes change and says he wants to get past the above petty distractions and unite this country under a common cause. Whatever that cause may be.

Now do you vote for David or would you think that if David ran with those people in his circle of friends that it would be utterly ridiculous to vote for such a person.

So if you wouldn’t vote for David than why are you voting for Obama and his friends Wright, Ayers, Rezko and Hamas?

    No difference other than color.

I am feeling very frustrated-why is CNN having its reporters continue to harang various people about the Rev. Wright issue? I watched Malveax tonight with Michelle Obama-she reminded me of a reporter at a crash site trying to get someone who has just experienced the death of their loved one to make an emotional soundbite-she seemed awkward and ill at ease continuing to drill Michelle instead of moving on. Malveaux (sorry if I have misspelled her name) had the look on her face like "I am supposed to be boring in on Michelle but I really have a sour taste in my mouth doing it." Move on-I always thought you were the best news source in the business-right now you are disappointing me-you seem mean spirited. Get back to real news-don't make the news.

It is now all a Media Driven issue. Out of sync, bad blue drapes, a sickly plant and there sit Michelle Obama and Caroline Kennedy having to have Suzzanne bring up the same old stupid questions. Meanwhile, the worst month in the Iraq war. Meanwhile, Generals being selected and trained to lie to the media by the Bush Administration. Meanwhile, gas hits record prices. Meanwhile, oil prices shoot towards a new record.

When will the propoganda machines or media let this go. We all know that the Republicans will have an easier time with Mrs. Clinton. This is why this story continues to have legs. Follow the money!

People are scared to speak out. But I feel it is necessary. I was educated and worked w/blacks all me life. and Personally, did not like everything handed to them. Politics is rough. If you can't handle it, you need to get out of the kitchen. The Obama group always calls it a racial comment. You can't debate the issues, because you call every it "racial." I am sure Obama would be ready someday, but his lack of experience is essential for this office. Also I would like to see black apply themselves in job situations rather than expect everything to be handed to them because they are black.

I know that everyone knows that Ms. Obama stated, "This is the first I am REALLY proud of my country." Unless you have spent your life under a rock, there are time when you were no proud of your country. Think about it, the lies, and underhanded activities executed by this country at some point in your lifertime. You don't like Ms. Obama, but it not want you think she said about this country. Be honest with yourself. So, you support the Clintons, bill is the scum of the earth, and Hillary is a "I am MY OWN TWIN, (brother) Why do you think she put with Bill and Their women for over 30 years. A man has to fine softness somewhere. But, he is not selfess , he shares..

I wonder if any of you know that during Michelle's freshman year in college, she received an unexpected new roommate. Reason why, her roommate was white and her family did not want her to share a room with Michelle because of her color. She doesn't talk about thing like this because she's a lady, first lady.

It's no wonder why Michelle OBAMA does not want to talk about Rev Wright. How could anyone really explain logically why it would take her husband Barack, 20 years to realize that the Pastor that he has been listening to on Sundays, has serious issues with "HATE and RACE"?

Any other well educated professional lawyer and Law Professor would have figured that one out within at least 1 to 2 months perhaps.

But I think Obama did know or was very aware about Rev Wright but his pastor’s controversial views probably did not matter to him very much. Obama is supposed to be a Leader who wants to be our President.
OBAMA did not do a BLOODY thing to try to change Wright's thinking and sermons and yet the “YES WE CAN” man that is supposed to be all about change, looked to other way.
How can people who believe in him and what he is preaching not see this as a very serious flaw in his character? GOOD JUDGMENT is a necessary attribute for anyone who wants to be the President and in this situation his judgment was very BAD.
OBAMA’s “CHICKEN HAVE COME HOME TO ROOST”
