Mum's the word for Michelle on Rev. Wright

CNN

Listen to the Obama's remarks Wednesday.

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (CNN) –- Democrat Barack Obama's wife Michelle chose silence Wednesday when the couple were asked about recent comments made by their former pastor, and the harsh words Sen. Obama had for him Tuesday.

In a question-and-answer session with voters, the two were asked what kind of toll it takes on them to have to turn their backs on someone who had been good to them in the past.

Sen. Obama responded first, saying he "made a statement yesterday that was hard to make."

"What we want to do now though is to make sure that this doesn’t continue to be a perpetual distraction," he said.

Then he turned to his other half.

"Michelle, do you have anything to add to that?" After a brief hesitation he said, "You do, but..." He stopped and smiled as she shook her head.

The audience laughed.

"Remember, there are a lot of reporters around," he said, joining in the laughter.

Watch Michelle Obama speak out tonight in an interview with CNN's Suzanne Malveaux at 8:20 p.m. ET, with an extended version airing at on AC 360 at 10 p.m. ET

It was a great discussion and CNN ruined it by saying mums the word on Rev. Wright, gotta get him in there huh? Make sure to bring up Wright...Tell the media to stop the madness. What did they talk about? What did the folks who attended to meeting say? What issues concerned them most? NO, instead you have SPIN SPIN SPIN, CNN putting in the spin Get folks to hate each other more, just sprinkle Rev. Wright in there. NO MORE KOOL-AID.

Smart move by Michelle since she agrees with Rev Wright. That would just be another disaster for the Obama campaign. I think she learned her lesson on the whole proud of my country for the 1st time fiasco.

What made her mum all of a sudden.....she wasn't too mum when she was talking about "for the first time being proud of America".

We don't need people like the Obama's in power. They will only destory our country!!!

No wonder they chose silence...they couldn't say anything, especially Obama. That would mean that he would have to admit to harbouring "bad judgment," which he clearly has. Nobama is a phony, and its time that America wake up and smell the coffee! HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON IS THE ANSWER!

    RISE HILLARY RISE!!!

    Michelle,

I'm all for you and your husband. My heart aches for all the damage your former pastor has done to your campaign. But my heart also believes in the American voters who can see beyond all the slime that both the Clinton and McCain campaigns are spreading about you.

Your husband will have my vote. . .and I'm praying other Americans will look beyond the past couple weeks that have been exploited by the media.

I want change. I want a new vision. I want Senator Barack Obama as president!!

Obama is weak, he can't take the heat, you let the media playing gotcha with you, as long as you can't be yourself, you will never be the president of the United States. As I was watching you last night, you looked more and more like a whimp, your darling media handed you a piece of paper, and you read it. Men up Obama, you are a divider, you divided democrats, you divided blacks, you will divide the whole country. Up until now, you decided to throw your pastor under the bus, he would have been your pastor if you weren't trying to get some votes, be real Obama , you have been listening to your pastor 's theology of liberation for 20 years now you are pretending to not knowing what that means

I wish she would say something-she always puts her foot in her mouth.
I'm wondering when Rev. Wright is going to have his own press conference? Or did they tie him up in the closet.

I am so sick and tired of those of you who call yourselves Americans but who think like nazis. Why won't you be man or woman enough to say you are against Obama because of the color of his skin? Stop this silly junk promoting your jaundiced view of patriotism. Go ahead and show the world what bubba brains you are. It will not matter. There are more fair minded people in this country of every color than there are dumb prejudiced idiots. Obama will be the next president despite you and your partner in crime Billary.

I rather have Bill in the White House again than Obama-rosa as the 1st Lady any time. That woman just screams "socialist" to me.

She said at a Harrisburg preschool on 4/8/08, "The truth is, in order to get things like universal health care and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more."

    Obama-rosa is Kim Jong-il in a dress!!

I can only imagine what Michelle has to say about good old Mr. Wright. I bet she loves him and thinks highly of his sermons. Kind of like when she said she had never been proud of america before.

How contrived!! Rove and the media circus spend all day Monday outlining specifically how Obama needed to get mad and come out swinging for Wright's weekend remarks. Like a good boy, Obama does just that on Tues, well-scripted and completely transparent. This guy is such a hypocrite. Who knows what he believes, as he's just another politician blowing with the wind. You may not agree with Wright, but at least he's his own man and says what he believes. More than can be said of Obama. And who will be telling him what to say/do in the White House.....???

No, the cat doesn't have Michelle Obama's tongue. Michelle wants you to be glued to your TV tonight with your listening ears on so you don't have to hear second hand what she has to say. That's what you call taking care of business.
