Mum's the word for Michelle on Rev. Wright

CNN

Listen to the Obama's remarks Wednesday.

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (CNN) –- Democrat Barack Obama's wife Michelle chose silence Wednesday when the couple were asked about recent comments made by their former pastor, and the harsh words Sen. Obama had for him Tuesday.

In a question-and-answer session with voters, the two were asked what kind of toll it takes on them to have to turn their backs on someone who had been good to them in the past.

Sen. Obama responded first, saying he "made a statement yesterday that was hard to make."

"What we want to do now though is to make sure that this doesn’t continue to be a perpetual distraction," he said.

Then he turned to his other half.

"Michelle, do you have anything to add to that?" After a brief hesitation he said, "You do, but..." He stopped and smiled as she shook her head.

The audience laughed.

"Remember, there are a lot of reporters around," he said, joining in the laughter.

Watch Michelle Obama speak out tonight in an interview with CNN's Suzanne Malveaux at 8:20 p.m. ET, with an extended version airing at on AC 360 at 10 p.m. ET

Thank you Tee!!! I have been waiting for someone else to bring that up! Let's not forget the Repubs with their ministers if we are now "vetting" on the religious aspect!

Good Job Michelle. Don't set yourself up to be a tool for media fodder,
like Rev. Wright. Campaign along side of Barack, and not a media
interview, only for your words to be spun against you. Beat them at
their own game. Focus on the ISSUES.

It's amazing how few people on this blog can see the potential danger for the country by electing Obama.

At best, he and his supporters are victims of their own naivete.
    Unfit for POTUS

At worst, he is a calculating fraud supported by people that that look to government to solve all problems.

After reading this blog and seeing what the media has done to her husband, family, and church for the last 2 months, I can't think of one good reason WHY she should be proud of America. It's easy to be proud of your shiny new Ford F-150 when your the one driving it and not the one getting run over by it. Many (not all) Blacks feel this way. We have reserved patriotism becuase we know at any moment our Country might turn on us. It's like a wife that has a violent husband. She always thinks of a backup plan. The frustrating thing is that Obama could change all that. He wants to change Black people's perceptions of their country.

How can you people not hold Hillary accountable for her vote to give Bush permission to invade Iraq without at least reading her own Senate Intelligence Committee Report before acceding to George W.'s request?
Sen Robert Byrd and 20 of her fellow Democratic Senators read the report and refused to surrender their power to Declare War, not just hand it over to a political sociopath.
So Obama wasn't in the US Senate when he denounced the War in advance. He was running for the Illinois Senate, and in that atmosphere of patriotic fervor, he had no idea if his words might not mean the end of his budding political career – but he made the speech anyway, because he felt he was right. (And he was, of course.)
I want a person of his cool logic, integrity and honesty in the White House. And I'm a veteran of WWII, and a white octogenarian; so its not just blacks and young people who want Obama to prevail.

OH ITS GETTING GOOD NOW. He is acting like he is throwing Rev Wright under the bus like he actually did his TYPICAL white grandmother. What a CON he is. I wouldnt doubt they didnt get Wright to come back out because he wanted this to happen so he could come out and say he is pulling away from him. So much for that UNCLE , whos next on the Obama moving away from list , MICHELLE.

  12. Tired of Rev Wright comments

Seeing that CNN loves to keep Rev. Wright in the news, why not hire him as a correspondent for CNN? That way you could get even more "exclusive" and hot off the press comments before Fox news does. We all know that Rev Wright is not running for any public office but obviously that doesn't matter. If racist Pat Buchanan can be a correspondent surely Wright can also. Who knows maybe Pat, Wright and Bill O'Reilly can all appear on Lou Dobbs or on Larry King.

Gee Farren, you MUST be a NObama supporter, though you need to remove the "en" from your name and add "achan"!

    Go Hillary!!!!

Funny, I heard people discussing this possible theory at work, on the train, and my wife said that the University where she teaches was all a buzz about the possibility.

    Obama made his bed..

How did the words Wright say Monday differ from the words he has been saying the last 20 years? Why just now stand up Obama? You are a typical politician and the "change" you dream of is the same crap all other Politicians bring us. At least with them, we know what we are getting.

lets put it on the table. why doesnt she have to answer the question ALL the bobots think it was unfair that Chelsy didnt answer the Monica question and frankey they got harsh about it. the REV matters alot more then the great BJ incident of 199?
She needs to answer why he was my friend my mentor my part of the family for so long with the veiws of this rev. being how they are.
The CHANGE is the way Barak gets changing his stories about the REV. the HOPE is that it will just go away?

You know what, we can't win for losing in this country. If Michelle can't speak without being ridiculed and called unncessary names, the WE all need to SHUT UP (YES, I'M YELLING, cause I am sick of you hypocrits!).

I love Michelle! Its funny how many of you say we Americans can't stand a strong woman like Hillary (when she has lied and postured), but Michelle who has done nothing but voice real concerns and legitimate feelings is hated. SO really, read these blogs and tell me Americans are not mean.

How can you be proud of the Americans writing this crap on these boards.? The Clinton fanatics being the worst of the bunch. You are embarrasing your country even now. You think we are the only ones reading this? The whole world is reading this! We are proving everything negative ever said about us. Ugly Americans. Stop this now please. Clintonism will soon be listed in the psychiatric journals as a disease. Ex-Rev Wright is an old bitter man. Sen. Obama is NOT!
Hillary is a bitter old woman. Sen Obama is NOT! Sen McCain is a mean old man. Sen Obama is NOT! God help our children and grandchildren should any of your hate mongering toward him rob us of our best chance in years to recover our respectability. Hillary, CNN, MSNBC please think of your Country first. Traitors all.

Based on things Michelle has already said, and how that has contributed to Barak's campaign, it is probably best if Michelle does remain silent.
