Obama adds a third new superdelegate in 24 hours

The Iowa representative announced his support for Obama Wednesday.
The Iowa representative announced his support for Obama Wednesday.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Iowa Rep. Bruce Braley will endorse Illinois Sen. Barack Obama for president Wednesday, the fifth Democratic superdelegate to choose sides in less than 24 hours, an Obama aide confirms to CNN.

Braley, a first-term congressman who represents an eastern district that hugs the Illinois border, had originally backed John Edwards in the race for the Democratic nomination. He joins fellow Iowan and Democratic National Committee member Richard Machacek in publicly declaring his support for Obama this week. Machacek and Kentucky Rep. Ben Chandler both said Tuesday they were backing Obama, while North Carolina Gov. Mike Easley and Missouri Rep. Ike Skelton endorsed New York Sen. Hillary Clinton the same day.

Braley’s decision to support Obama was first reported Wednesday morning by the Des Moines bureau of the Associated Press.

Face it Clintonites. The superdelegates are lined up and ready.

They've let this Negative Nellie and her mismanaged traveling side show hang around too long. Maybe now we can start focusing on how much John W. McCain looks like the current WH clown.

    Great!!

Superdelegates should take sides at the earliest and kick the Clintons out of the race and if possible out of US.

  5. Ok...

Yes, it tightened by 1 superdelegate. Hillary got two in the last 24 hours, Obama got 3. Big deal CNN.

    Amen!

OBAMA or no one in 08. If Hillary is allowed to steal the election, I'd be willing to just stay home and endure 4 or 8 more years of a Republican jack'n up the country, just to show that since the actual "vote" doesn't seem to count anyway, then why bother...

Thankyou Rep. Braley, It is wonderful to see another superdelegate jump on board. Hilliary Clinton claims she grew up in PA and in her Ad and she says she grew up in Parkland Indiana which is it Hilliary, I guess you will continue to be an habitual liar. By the way when will you be going to court I notice that paul vs clinton you were there Feb.1,2008 now when is your next appearance. Hilliary I don't trust you and never will. Obama or no one.

Let's go SuperD's. Help Barak change the subject from Rev Wright to the fact that he will be the eventual nominee of this party. We ALL need to rally behind and support Barak. Not tear him down. Stop GOP-Hillary now before she does more damage!

If Hillary steals the nomination it will distroy the party. Let's unite now and take back the country from politics as usual!

Unite Democrats – Change the course of this country!

Why is Hillary going negative, this ad defines the differences between Obama's and her position on foreclosures and gas prices. Why do you guys use these stupid tactics to always show Hillary Clinton in a negative light. Do you think the American people are also as stupid.

The trend is clear... I just do not underständ the NC governer. Keeping Hillary in the race, while she has no change to overtake Obama in pledged delegates, only hurts the Democratic Party.

Rev Wright is the better for Hillary and McCain than any Super Delegate Obama. If you get the nomination we will lose in November. If you were really the person you say you are you would drop out for the good of the country- so that we wouldn't have 4+ more years of Bush/Mccain... but you won't because you are not who you say you are. You hold yourself to a different standard than you do everyone else.

CNN is a litle late on this one. And two other supers will endorse him by the end of the day. Hopefully, this race will be over by the May 6th.

It has to do more about Obama having so much bad press lately, so the campaign is getting all their undeclared supers to go to declare to deflect from all the controvercies.
