Obama adds a third new superdelegate in 24 hours

The Iowa representative announced his support for Obama Wednesday.
The Iowa representative announced his support for Obama Wednesday.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Iowa Rep. Bruce Braley will endorse Illinois Sen. Barack Obama for president Wednesday, the fifth Democratic superdelegate to choose sides in less than 24 hours, an Obama aide confirms to CNN.

Braley, a first-term congressman who represents an eastern district that hugs the Illinois border, had originally backed John Edwards in the race for the Democratic nomination. He joins fellow Iowan and Democratic National Committee member Richard Machacek in publicly declaring his support for Obama this week. Machacek and Kentucky Rep. Ben Chandler both said Tuesday they were backing Obama, while North Carolina Gov. Mike Easley and Missouri Rep. Ike Skelton endorsed New York Sen. Hillary Clinton the same day.

Braley’s decision to support Obama was first reported Wednesday morning by the Des Moines bureau of the Associated Press.

The huricane is just gathering! Wait until you see the effects in few days. Americans are too wise to be fooled by a gas tax that solves no problem. If they need to throw some bananas to the monkeys, they should go the the zoo. Barack Obama just showed another good judgement with the gas tax holiday which he opposed.

Apparently CNN 'complete full on 24 hour' coverage of Wright hasn't affected Obama's campaign.

How about talking about real issues.

The sooner the superdelegates come out and declare, the sooner we can send Hillary home.

It is a shame that the Democratic Party has allowed Clinton to undermine Obama's chances of winning in November.

If Obama loses in November, Hillary Clinton should be thrown out of the Democratic Party.

We need the other Superdels to make up their minds. I don't see how anyone could support Hillary, her negative attacks on Barack have been only helping McCain, she does not care about the Dem Party, she cares about her own Personal Agenda of political power. Her negativity and just down right LIES has turned me off completely. We are moving ahead with BARACK. CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN.

obama is repulsive in his decision to now disown Rev. Wright. It is the day after Carl Rove told Obama what to do. Show's what kind of decision making he has.... and it took 20 years?????

He is a PUPPET FOR ANY DELEGATE WHO BACKS HIM!

    Hillary 08!

Great...Thanks to the congressman. I expect more to come over the coming few days. This is the only way for democrats if they really want to win in November...
I have an innocent question to Hillary supporters?:
Why republicans work hard to impact the democratic primary in favor of Hillary? Why they put an add against Obama in N. Carolina and vote for HIllary in the primary in Ohio, Texas, Missisipi and PA?
    Do they like her?
    NO...No...No. Absolutely not
They just see her the weaker candidate to beat in November.
Republicans has tons of negatives against Hillary and they will use them in November...
Imagine a single add on sniper fire showing Hillary Lie and the reality of what happened?...
Many other things against Clinton will be used including all the scandals of the nineties

Democrats, we need to be united behind Obama and end this primary soon

Well well. Obama's support keeps growing despite Rev. Wright. Perhaps nobody cares what Obama's pastor said?

Besides, the guy (Wright) has two masters and a doctorate, and is a veteran. He can say whatever the heck he wants.

Obama is the only candidate who is not engaging in political pandering and instead sticks to the issues

shame on hilary and her negative ads

i use to actually like her as a person.. not so much anymore.

  24. Truth

Thank God the superdelegates seem to be enlightened people concerned with the truth and not swayed by all the negativity out there against Obama – between Clinton attacking him every chance she gets and rev Wright issue which should really be a non issue since wright isn't running for office. By the way should we ostracize Clinton whose pastor was convicted yesterday for severe child molestation? Fair is fair, isn't it?
