Obama adds a third new superdelegate in 24 hours

The Iowa representative announced his support for Obama Wednesday.
The Iowa representative announced his support for Obama Wednesday.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Iowa Rep. Bruce Braley will endorse Illinois Sen. Barack Obama for president Wednesday, the fifth Democratic superdelegate to choose sides in less than 24 hours, an Obama aide confirms to CNN.

Braley, a first-term congressman who represents an eastern district that hugs the Illinois border, had originally backed John Edwards in the race for the Democratic nomination. He joins fellow Iowan and Democratic National Committee member Richard Machacek in publicly declaring his support for Obama this week. Machacek and Kentucky Rep. Ben Chandler both said Tuesday they were backing Obama, while North Carolina Gov. Mike Easley and Missouri Rep. Ike Skelton endorsed New York Sen. Hillary Clinton the same day.

Braley’s decision to support Obama was first reported Wednesday morning by the Des Moines bureau of the Associated Press.

Good. Now lets hope Clinton's super delegates jump their sinking ship and put her bid for the nomination to sleep. HRC is a sleezball and needs to be locked in the cellar for good.

    PS
The Crises that you tout Obama has handled??? BOTH WERE OF HIS OWN MAKING!!!!!!!!

We don't need a President that Creates Crises....Bush has already done enough of that for our lifetime....

They both received three superdelegates in two days. Hillary also picked up Mike George from PA, which I guess CNN has decided not to report on because it gives Obama the headline.

Nice, even with all the negative ad campaign of Hillary "shot at by a sniper" Clinton, people are still seeing through her deceit and backing the only candidate with morals.

I am not sure if it is her age setting in and the memory starting to become a problem: shot at by snipers, having been supported by the same big oil companies that she now wants to go after, mysterious pregnant women, and oh yes, her undeniable support of NAFTA. Maybe she is just actually bitter, and who wouldn't be, I mean she must lose her mind everytime she hears the name Monica. Whatever the reason, how do so many of you continue to reward negative politics?

Put an end to negative campaigning, send a message that you must win on your own merits, using integrity and decency and by building a platform based on your moral structure, NOT on what is convenient politics for the moment. Vote for change in 08, not more of the same. We have a govt in office right now that is there because they were better at smearing the democrats, better at deceit and now with Billary, you propose to reward the same tactics that four and eight years ago you condemned....................hypocrites!!!

I am surprised by the lack of negitive comments by the Clinton supporter. What is up?

As far as I am concerned, I don't care who will represent the party in November. The best candidate is not in the race anymore.

    McCain b4 Clinton!

I have come to the conclusion that the democrats serving in congress that back obama are really closet republicans. They pick obama because they want McCAin to win. How come he loses all match up with McCain and Hillary beats McCAin by a wide margin. Just can't understand it, but as I said these republicans have fooled us all into thinking they are Democrats.

    Silent Saboteur?

It turns out the woman who organized Reverend Jeremiah Wright's event at the National Press Club, Monday, is a Hillary Clinton supporter. Barbara Reynolds is a member of the Press Club's Speakers Committee and coordinated the event which some critics suggest did irreparable harm to Barack Obama's campaign.

When did either Obama or Cliton get 2025 delegates? Isn't that the finish line set up by the party? I have never heard of a race being over until one contestant crossess the finnish line.

Isn't it interesting that whatever Hillary is doing is important but that same issue isn't important when it comes to Obama. If Hillary had the scrutiny that Obama has (and we all knows she has a lot to answer about ) she would have dropped out by now. Make her answer the questions about Mark Penn, Columbia, NAFTA and Peter Paul, the $800,000 taken from lobbyist, who the donaters are to the library, etc.. Even with the media bias and the racism Obama is still on top. And Julie a delegate count is a delegate. All of you people who try to minimize Obama's success, like Hillary says a win is a win.
And a loss is a loss.

Obama and his supporters sicken me. He cant win in the fall and it will give me great pleasure to cross party lines and vote for McCain. Obama is all fairy tales and ego, and his supporters are worse. I would urge all Clinton supporters to do what it takes to beat Obama in the fall if he is the nominee. The only kind of hope that Obama instills in me is the hope that he and all of his supporters disappear!
