Interesting to see that Obama followed Rove's advice regarding Rev. Wright --but too little and too late. Wonder what McCain will do.

Don't bet your life on it, McCain doesnt need to get in the getteos with the other running contenders. Sometimes less is more, so I give him my vote and dont care about what he has or hasnt done, if it takes slander and being nasty to win, then he is doing what is right, keeping it all to himself and his family and friends. Fussing and arguing as to see who is the smartest is just so ignorant as none of the two others running are not making big marks for themselves, just giving people something to talk about. I am sure McCain is doing what he thinks is right, and I believe most people think the same who are giving him their support.

I am not a McCain supporter, but I have so much respect for McCain as a man. I like that he is not public and that he only discusses that which is pertaining to the issues.

Honestly, if he were to run with Huckabee...I will vote for him if Hillary steals this election.

Obama O-8!

I thought this scumbag Rove said he was going to go away and live some kind of private life when he resigned from the White House. I wish he would!!!
This guy is as corrupt and scummy as they come. I wouldn't believe anything he had to say even if his hand was on a Bible.
Why he never got indicted in the Valerie Plume thing is an absolute travesty to American justice. Same goes for Dick Cheney.

Thank you, CNN, for your step-by-step reporting of every single word that comes out of Karl Rove's mouth. You give this man credit b/c he "engineered" two White House wins--the first of which was highly contested in terms of legality, the second of which was hardly a landslide victory gained by maligning the record of a veteran. Additionally, the entirety of the administration has been an unmitigated failure, so, I'm not sure why we are suppose to care at all about what this divisive, overrated man has to say.

I'm a life long dem and there is no way I will vote for Obama. He is a socialist. The only pray we have is for Clinton to win the nomination. If she does not, I'm voting for the first time. McCain is moderate, he is not Bush, nor would he be a third term of Bush. Clinton would be better, but McCain would be better than Obama.

McCain has been "private" because he doesn't want to release his medical records or his wife's income tax records. Karl sure does know how to spin things! I especially like the part about his daughter, you know the one who was fair game in 2000? Rove is almost as big a flip-flopper as McCentury!

Okay asking someone to share their war experiences is completely unfair. I'm a veteran of the Iraq war and what happened there and my experiences are nobody else's business. McCain's war experiences are his and he shouldn't have to tell them to anyone. Most of the time the person who talks the least about their time in combat went through the most Hell....

I'm laughing at all you dems slamming Rove after he mopped the floor with you the last two elections. Bitter are we?

And just exactly what crimes has he committed that all the kool-aid drinkers believe he should be in prison for? Is it illegal to beat democrats in every election? Haha.

I will keep my comments about the messenger to myself, but as for his message: Senator McCain has opened up about his life story quite eloquently in two bestselling memoirs, "Faith of Our Fathers" and "Worth the Fighting For," which is two more books than the current president has to his credit. I'm not entirely sure what Mr. Rove is hoping that Senator McCain could do to make himself "more public."

Me thinks Rove fancies himself as political God, if not 'God' himself.
The self appointed role of 'president maker' has gone to his head.

Rove politics are a large part of why America faces its current dilemmas. The last thing John McCain needs is advice from Puppetmaster Rove. A has been who helped kill the GOP's chances for quite some time to come. Voters are fed up with puppet politicians.

Rove, your reaping time is coming too. To the commenter Paul, you are exacly right. If McCain takes advice from this trick along with anyone else like him, he cannot run a respectable campaign.

I hope he tells the part about being in the Senate for over 15 years and not being able to solve any of the crises we face today --- the economy - the gas and energy crisis - global warming - securing the border - getting out of a war we cannot finish or win --- and seeing year after year after year of billions of money wasted --- Good show John.

Yeah, if McCain would open up maybe we could find out what it was he said about the USA while he was a POW. Or maybe we could find out about his first wife and McCain and if he commited adultery. But, nah, we will just talk about Rev. Wright, huh? Shame we don't have a news media.

Perhaps I missed something, but why is Karl Rove being given all this screen time? I believe he resigned from his post in the Bush Administration and as it seems, America is done with the divisive politics that he popularized. Can we agree to just let him crawl away and be done. I for one am not listening to him anymore, let him run a corporation or something. I'd add him to the list of people we wish would just throw in the towel on their "careers" along with Paris Hilton, Rev. Fred Phelps.

You can hate Rove. I know I do but you have to respect his ability to win elections. The man knows how to get it done. McCain comes across as out of step with today's youth, too old, and not relevant. It looks like he would change any position just to get elected. Look at illegal immigration reform or the Bush tax cuts. He was for the former than against, and he was against the latter now he is for. He needs to humanize his campaign to get elected. The problem with McCain is that he isn't a very likeable man in real life.

Karl,

I could not agree more. In this day and age, if your main character in the movie does not have enough transparency, the audience is left with no one to bond with. With McCain's amazing personal history, someone in that campaign should be developing a docu-drama about his life and run the hell out of it on any channel that will carry it.

Karl Rove has no conscience or decency. When he makes the statement "many voters will never know the experiences of his (McCain's) life that show his character, integrity and essential decency." Yet he's the one who ochestrated McCain's demise. Rove has no credibility. He is a sleeze.
