Clinton to Congress: You’re either with us or against us

JEFFERSONVILLE, Indiana (CNN) – After several days of back and forth between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama over whether a summer-long elimination of the gas tax would help or hurt, Clinton took a hard line, asking her colleagues in Congress to take sides.

“I believe it would be important to get every member of Congress on record,” Clinton told supporters at a rally in southern Indiana. “Do they stand with the hard-pressed Americans who are trying to pay their gas bills at the gas station or do they once again stand with the oil companies?

“I want to know where people stand and I want them to tell us, are they with us or against us when it comes to taking on the oil companies?” she added.

The “with us or against us” line wasn’t the only George W. Bush reference Thursday evening. Telling a story about Republicans crossing party lines and whispering their support to her, Clinton said, “It’s kind of like a little bit of a confessional when somebody comes and says, ‘You know I voted for George Bush, and I’m really sorry.’”

Obama used to tell a similar story that drew laughs about people whispering to him that they’re Republicans but are in his camp. Also whispering, he would respond, “Thank you, but why are we whispering?”

Commending Clinton in Jeffersonville for her ability to reach across the aisle to Republicans, renowned environmentalist Robert F. Kennedy Jr. introduced Clinton who holds what used to be his father’s New York seat in the Senate.

“This is a leader who is going to be one of the most extraordinary presidents in our history,” Kennedy told the crowd after mentioning that this election has split his politically famous family.

“You may know that there’s some members of my family who’ve decided to do the wrong thing and support Barack Obama,” said Kennedy. “Our family is divided, and our party is divided and the reason we’re divided is because we have two extraordinary candidates both running for president both who will make unbelievable presidents.”

In all fairness CNN why are you not covering Clinton vs Paul fraud case? You have always upheld the highest standards in journalism but now you cower and shed all the negative light on Obama. Clearly Clinton is stealing a line from Obama but no CNN will stay out of it. Restore your place in the media world and cover all that pertains to the candidates without fear or favor before you lose all the respect of your viewers. Obama will win this thing just wait you see.

I did a google search on Paul vs Clinton. Oh my goodness! What is she going to say about the video evidence? "I guess, well, you know, I must have mis-spoken. I never met Peter Paul. I never took $2M from him. I didn't know my guys didn't report it."?? And now she's trying to pull George W. tactics on the superdelegates!!! Dump this loser quick before she makes us all look like a bunch of ignorant fools!

Please people.... please open your eyes and see that we cannot trust Clinton or what she says. It will be different next week, if it will help her. Do we really want another president that we can't trust?

Divide Divide Divide...typical Hillary at work. Nancy Pelosi stated she was against the gas "summer tax" break....many economist agree...but Hill just won't SHUT UP!!!! Now, she's making it a political point, to say that it's all about the "working people".
Hill, what do you know about the working people? You know about being a politician. You made more than 100million dollars the past 4 years...that's not "working people". Don't feed us anymore lines! Stop reading from the "Q" cards prnted up by your campaign, and do something good for the people. UNITE the party and drop out.
I started the year off a Hillary supporter, now she just plain gets on my nerves!!!

    Obama '08-He gets it!!

Are the economists with you or againest you Mrs. Clinton? Maybe talk to them prior to taking a poll of Congress.
Of course that doesn't matter because your just using the sexy money to get poor voters who don't know any better.

Gas tax holiday is not it America. We need long term fiix for this problem. We do not only go to work just holiday and summer. I feel that these proposals are just political manupilation just to get them the job and then America we on our own. Energy dependence and to drill more gas in the US is the real solution. Gas tax holiday! Do they think Iran, Iraq,Venezuala,Nigeria will give us cheaper gas. Opec won't let this happen. This current administration is already mess up our reputation around the world. We are not like America! We need to fix that in order for tax gas holiday to work or we will be facing even higher prices at the pumps after the election. Remember America these guys want to fool you to get elected even if they know it wil not work.

She's lost it–if not the nomination, then certainly her mind.

Now she's trying to strong arm Congress. How many members, Republican or Democratic, are going to want to work with that kind of president?

Put Hillary to pasture. Vote Obama.

Peter F. Paul has launched a new website to expose the upcoming landmark civil trial of Paul vs. Clinton which in now pending in a California court against former President Bill Clinton, with Senator Hillary Clinton as a material witness.A status conference hearing is scheduled for April 25, 2008, and a trial date is expected to be soon announced.Discovery in the case is expected to begin in May, 2008 as it proceeds to trial. The discovery will expose an ongoing cover-up of the campaign finance crimes and the obstructions of justice directed by Hillary Clinton with the help of Bill Clinton and former DNC Chair Ed Rendell. The cover-up rivals Watergate in its corruption of each branch of government and the media.Since the media still refuses to cover Senator Clinton's involvement in the largest campaign finance fraud case in U.S. history, Paul will report on much of the news himself in this historic landmark case. For news and information on this case, you can visit PaulvClinton.com

Gas tax is collected by the government. Oil companies' profit doesn't change whether or not the gas tax is repealed if people keep buying gas. Not repealing gas tax doesn't make oil companies earn more profit. In fact, lowering gas price artificially by repealing the gas tax will encourage people to buy more gas, therefore giving oil companies more profit. So who's Hillary calling siding with the oil companies? And how is it right for a "environmentalist" RFK Jr to want to encourage Americans use more gas by lowering the price? Changing driving habits or driving fuel-efficient cars would save a lot more gas money for drivers AND lowering oil companies' profit.

And Republicans are crossing over to vote for Hillary because they know she'd be OBLITERATED by John McCain, "the war hero", in November, especially if African Americans feel robbed and don't vote for her, although we now know Hillary and McCain are both GW Bush believers and will continue his policies.

"Either with us or against us"? Who's the "us" that Hillary was talking about?

I guess Jr's going to testify on her behalf as a character witness when she goes to court. She's making a fool of him too. If he hasn't seen the Peter Paul evidence or read the charges, he needs to get his head out of his rear end and do it quickly before he goes down with her. WE need to put some distance between the democratic party and Hillary Clinton. She can cross over to the Republicans if she wants to. She's really bad news.

Robert Kennedy says we have "two extraordinary candidates both running for president both who will make unbelievable presidents.”

If that's the case, let's nominate the one who has the most pledged delegates, the most popular votes, who's won the most states, etc., etc.

    Send Hillary home, vote Obama.
