Clinton to Congress: You’re either with us or against us

JEFFERSONVILLE, Indiana (CNN) – After several days of back and forth between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama over whether a summer-long elimination of the gas tax would help or hurt, Clinton took a hard line, asking her colleagues in Congress to take sides.

“I believe it would be important to get every member of Congress on record,” Clinton told supporters at a rally in southern Indiana. “Do they stand with the hard-pressed Americans who are trying to pay their gas bills at the gas station or do they once again stand with the oil companies?

“I want to know where people stand and I want them to tell us, are they with us or against us when it comes to taking on the oil companies?” she added.

The “with us or against us” line wasn’t the only George W. Bush reference Thursday evening. Telling a story about Republicans crossing party lines and whispering their support to her, Clinton said, “It’s kind of like a little bit of a confessional when somebody comes and says, ‘You know I voted for George Bush, and I’m really sorry.’”

Obama used to tell a similar story that drew laughs about people whispering to him that they’re Republicans but are in his camp. Also whispering, he would respond, “Thank you, but why are we whispering?”

Commending Clinton in Jeffersonville for her ability to reach across the aisle to Republicans, renowned environmentalist Robert F. Kennedy Jr. introduced Clinton who holds what used to be his father’s New York seat in the Senate.

“This is a leader who is going to be one of the most extraordinary presidents in our history,” Kennedy told the crowd after mentioning that this election has split his politically famous family.

“You may know that there’s some members of my family who’ve decided to do the wrong thing and support Barack Obama,” said Kennedy. “Our family is divided, and our party is divided and the reason we’re divided is because we have two extraordinary candidates both running for president both who will make unbelievable presidents.”

How can you support a man who supposedly spent twenty years attending a church whose pastor spewed radical rants every Sunday and not realized until this week that he is offensive and anti-American? How can you support a man who on the campaign trail in Pennsylvania was asked what he thought about President Carter meeting with Hamas and instead of answering replied, “Can’t I just eat my waffle?” No. No you can’t just eat your waffle. You want to be the President of the United States. A waffle shouldn’t keep you from stating your opinion. Are you that ill-prepared that you are thrown by a breakfast dish? I can’t support a man who remains clueless for twenty years and can’t answer simple questions do to waffles.

The Gas tax "holiday" is poor economics. The Diane Rehm Show on NPR this morning, May 1st, did an hour long show on oil prices and the gas tax moratorium. It is a good thoughtful explanation, and is a free pod-cast on itunes or from WAMU 88.5

I wonder why this is being kept silent. How can we keep letting the government snowing the American people. We are led to believe that we have a voice in government. That is so untrue. So let our voices be heard about this lawsuit. We need to make noise like they did about everything else Clinton has pulled out of her kitchen sink.

Media: Please do not let this happen. Be honest about both candidates. Let us really hear all the Clinton baggage. Barack is so refreshing. We will never be able to change totally how politics has been but we can start to make a CHANGE> Yes We Can.

It would be interesting to know whether Congress supported Hillary Clinton's request re the removal of the gas tax – a move which mayor Bloomberg of Newyork referred to as the "DUMBEST" proposal he had ever heard of.
    Go Obama – Truth seller!!

Hillary repeatedly proved that she has away too much "Experience" of nasty, deceptive politics of Washington that mocks us. The politicians count on the naiveness of the general public who fall for their cheap tricks and let them get their way. Politics, politics, politics. Hillary is trying to prove you have to be nasty and cunning like her to get elected. No thanks!
We have had more than enough of politicians like you. Stop faking. It;s all about you winning and you'd say anything and do anything, Mrs. Millionaire!

How long did Bill and Hillary sit up under this Pastor?
IF A PASTOR IS KNOWN BY THE COMPANY THEY KEEP!
When the Rev. William Procanick put his hand on the Bible during his
sex-abuse trial in Oneida County Court earlier this year, he swore to
tell the whole truth And nothing but the truth. But as the former
Clinton Pastor was sentenced Friday to three years in prison for
Inappropriatel y touching a 7-year-old girl at his Home last March, Judge
Michael L. Dwyer said Procanick S acrificed his honesty the day he
    testified.
Okay, so now that Bill and Hillary Clinton's pastor Has been convicted
of child molestation, will we see the Same furor directed at Hillary
that Obama has had to Endure these last few weeks?
IF A CANDIDATE IS KNOWN BY THE PASTOR THEY KEEP ......
Then you need to email this article to everyone you Know. Here the
CLINTON'S Pastor is convicted of child Molestation. So, if Obama bears
the guilt for his pastor's comment; then Hillary has to be equally
    tainted by this man's crimes.

Who is exactly the "us" she is referring to? Most of "us" couldn't loan ourselves $5 million. Besides she has been in the
Senate for 7 years and please someone explain what she has done for "us". Maybe the "us" is Hillary and Bill because there is no "me" in "us". She has done nothing for "me" so I am sure she hasn't done much for "us".

I feel like im living in a third world country and a dictator is lying to the people and his state run television is covering for him. Hmm sounds like the MSM and Obama. Bow down peasant the ruler has arrived. One thing after another is ignored and the far left of the Democratic party launches a positive spin on it and tells people its ok everyone is ok with Wright, Resko, Alice Palmer Auchi, Ayers,Nation of Islam, Faraquan, etc. etc. I hope his internet police dont read this or I will probably be wisked away. Vote smart people. You are being manipulated.

60 million tax payer dollars was used to investigate the Clintons with only a family matter being found. I know if 60 million was spent investigating my family plenty of personal stuff would pop up. Most of the stuff that is said about the Clintons is made up. Go to snopes and look it up. What is most funny is the right wing made this stuff up and now they have an inexperienced Obama who may be the Democratic nominee and they know that all of this fabrication on the Clintons is coming back to bite them.

She'd better be careful of what she asks for. When you start forcing people to make decisions, they don't always lean your way.

Its a shocker that Mrs. Clinton perceives Americans as so naive. The gas tax per gallon, if suspended for her "holiday" can be recovered by the oil companies in a week, based on the rapid growth increases in the price of fuel at the pump over the last year. And when that comes, and that tax holiday is done, we will be back paying big time at the pump, AND see our Highway Trust Fund go bankrupt-at a time when highway construction jobs could provide a fair paying alternative for folks needing a job. Google "Highway Trust Fund" and look at some of the stats on how the Trust Fund has gone during this administration, and Mrs. Clinton will stick the nail in that coffin, so she can build a few poll points.......Obama is right-and clearly has the brains, the demeanor, and the ability to see logic-and he respects Americans enough to dangle "carrots" in exchange for votes....
