Fossella was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

(CNN) - New York Rep. Vito Fossella was arrested overnight for driving while intoxicated, the Washington Post first reported.

In a newly released statement, Fossella said he made an "error in judgment."

“As a parent, I know that taking even one drink of alcohol before getting behind the wheel of a car is wrong," Fossella said. "I apologize to my family and the constituents of the 13th Congressional District for embarrassing them, as well as myself.”

Fossella, a Republican, was stopped while driving in Alexandria, Virginia - a suburb of Washington, D.C.

The Post says court records show Fossella is scheduled to appear in Alexandria General District Court on May 12 for an advisement hearing.

Fosella has served in Congress since 1997.

Why don't you ask people to google Obama & Larry Sinclair... or investigate why the Choir Director, Donald Young, of Obama's and Rev Wright's church was murdered in Dec '07... if your wanting everyone to google...google...google

Voter,

I am extremely glad that we are at least getting people to check this situation out for themselves, since we can't depend on the media.
(I really think they may be under a "Gag" order). However I am sorry to say this, but you are totally wrong. You are obviously misinterpreting whatever you were reading about Paul vs Clinton. The Judge only postponed the date of Hillary's testimony until after the November Election, and boy it sure looks like they have got her this time. Keep up the good work guys, hit every blog you can.

Folks,

I just found out one reason why Hillary's campaign is getting these Polls to read the way they want. These people are willing to throw the U.S.A. under the bus to get Hillary elected!!!!!!!!!

There are a number of "527' organizations phoning and sending out misleading and untrue disgusting information about Barack.

Check these out: ....."Women's Voices Women Votes"......... "American Leadership Project"......... (many of these organizations are headed by Bill Clinton's henchmen).... and now the latest is, Senior Campaign Advisor, Sidney Blumenthal, on a regular basis, has been attacking Barack's character by methodically dispatching misleading information about Barack, to various Influential Opinion Shapers. I am sure this mis-leading info is not fooling the Super Delegates, but what does this say about them being able to bamboozle the voters and thereby manipulate the polls!!!!!!!!!
Go to huff post for your political info.

Citizens, watch Glen Beck on HNN tomorrow. He will be airing one full hour of the Rev. Wrights sermons. He is also on tonight in about one half hour. You can then decide if we were judging him by just a few tiny sound bites. You can also decide if you believe Barack and Michelle Obama's claims that they had no knowledge of the Rev's philosophy on American patriotism or racism.

Ask yourself, would you have stayed in that church with your family and listened to that rant for 20 years? Was it just Chicago style politics for Barack Obama to join the church that would give him credibility with a powerful influence in the black community?

Please don't kill the messenger, just listen for yourself and make an informed decision, our nation deserves that much. Please use your good judgement when choosing the next presiden of the USA.

I thought you Obama-bots were suppose to be the smart ones? Check your history, Bill Clinton was not impeached! If he had of been impeached he would have lost all rights, including his library. What a bunch of Idiots. Peter Paul was thrown out, as frivolous. You are not all stupid, just most of you. Rev. Wright will not go away, and you are all bitter that your boy is losing ground. You all need a stiff drink and long nap.

Patricia   May 1st, 2008 8:42 pm ET

Sen. Clinton was dismissed from the case April 7, 2006, by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Aurelio Munoz on the basis of the state's anti-SLAPP law, which, under the First Amendment, protects politicians from frivolous lawsuits during their election campaigns, even though the statute was invoked by Clinton six months after the statutory cut off date and four years after she ended her election campaign.

Paul's attorney, Colette Wilson of the U.S. Justice Foundation, has argued that because Sen. Clinton violated the federal election law in engaging in her protected activity of soliciting contributions and, therefore, according to the law, would not be covered by the anti-SLAPP statute.

Wilson claims that Senator Clinton directly solicited the funds and applied some control over them, in violation of section 441 of the Federal Election Commission code.

What is wrong with paying $30 dollars less in gas? Are you people against paying less. $30 dollars in my pocket and in the pocket of americans is better than in the goverenment's pocket.

Why does paying $30 preclude a long term solution? The blinding acceptance of whatever obama says by kids makes me sad and disappointed and ultimately worry about the future of this country. No wonder we are viewed the way we are in the world stage. It's not about bush starting wars, it's about people re-voting him into office. See the difference people?

Hey, there, Anon.

TRUST me, I've mentioned the Paul v Clinton case every day since I first heard of it Sunday, & look how well the "media" is covering it! Clinton is STILL connected to that case, hence it's NAME, more so than Obama was tied to Rev. Wright's "sermons" &/or "movements"! I ALSO mention her ex-pastor, Rev. Wm. Procanick who was sentenced in Jan '08 for 3 years for "1st degree sexual abuse & endangering the welfare of a minor child", when he sexually abused a little 7 year old girl in March '07. Why has she not had to answer for THIS like Obama was FORCED to answer for Wright?

Come on, Clinton supporters, you NEED to wake up & get "educated" before it's too late for our Country AND our children!

More Clinton Scandal- Do we really want to go through that AGAIN?

World Net Daily – Accuser begins seeking sworn testimony from high-profile witnesses

A judge in Los Angeles yesterday allowed Hollywood mogul Peter F. Paul to begin taking sworn testimony in his $17 million fraud suit against former President Bill Clinton, but a technicality delayed establishment of a trial date.

California Superior Court Judge Aurelio N. Munoz ruled Paul's legal team can begin seeking depositions from a host of big names – including Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton – that allegedly were witnesses to an effort by the Clintons and top Democratic leaders to extract millions of dollars from Paul in illegal donations and then cover it up.

The best way to understand the case against Hillary Clinton- the frauds she directed to win her Senate seat and the obstructions of justice she orchestrated in plain view to keep it- is to read the explanation of the case of Paul v Clinton presented to California’s Court of Appeals late last year.

Peter Paul appealed Hillary Clinton’s purported right to first amendment protection from liability for frauds she directed when she was engaged in illegal campaign fundraising. The allegations of huge tort and election law frauds directed by a President and Senate candidate were corroborated with evidence that speaks for itself in the court pleadings- read the outline and click on the links:

The only judicial panel to ever review Hillary Clinton’s conduct as part of a judicial proceeding (the California Appellate Court) did not deny that Hillary’s conduct in obtaining more than $1.2 million from Paul may have been illegal!

“Even if some aspect of Senator Clinton’s campaign fundraising
unrelated to Paul’s claims… were illegal and that illegality could be imputed to Senator Clinton and Clinton for Senate, these defendants are not barred from obtaining the benefit of section 425.16’s right to an early evaluation of Paul’s claims arising from their constitutionally protected activity. ”

Lonnie H.   May 1st, 2008 6:19 pm ET

Actually she was dismissed only as a defendant, but she is still going to be called as a witness in the case. And why do you think she was dismissed as a defendant? Maybe because the judge has a personal friend that works for the same law firm the defense attorneys do. Before you call someone a fool, make sure you're not left looking stupid. No matter what, this makes her look shady!

The smoking gun five minute phone call from Hillary Clinton to Peter Paul in his office at Stan Lee Media, witnessed by Stan Lee and Rod Stewart's ex-wife Alana, proves Hillary appointed a White House staff person (not a campaign official) to illegally coordinate Peter Paul's expenditures of more than $1.2 million under the direction of Hillary Clinton. This tape was withheld by the government until April, 2007… after all investigations by the DOJ and FEC and Senate Ethics Committee and the criminal trial of David Rosen "exonerated" Hillary for lack of evidence of her personal involvement with Paul.

It's ok, Bush will pardon you. He surely understands.

sozzi   May 1st, 2008 5:12 pm ET

He must have left the White House.

Lloyd   May 1st, 2008 5:11 pm ET

I'm sure he is sorry, but he needs to pay for what he has done. It's not enough to talk the talk, but you have to walk the walk. We're not asking him to do anything more than any other American. And, the kids are watching him.

It's not about Republican or Democrat, someone could have been killed and their party affiliation would not have mattered.

Ken   May 1st, 2008 5:11 pm ET

The sad thing is, this guy will get more grief because of this lapse of judgement than for his blind, obedient support of the current idiot-in-charge. His constituents need to worry less about this incident, and instead WAKE UP and survey his record in congress.

McShame   May 1st, 2008 5:10 pm ET

TO CNN;

why u dont report this ???!!! WHY???????

Hillary Clinton said 'screw em' in reference to Southern Americans. Why is this news not front page??????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The gig is up Hillary and the numbers are in...you know, those pesky DELEGATE votes that you would like to ignore, while pretending you're the front runner.

Obama 08

Mark Anthony   May 1st, 2008 5:07 pm ET

DO WE REALLY CARE? PUNISH HIM AND MOVE ON!! GET TO THE REAL STORIES, I HEARD BRITNEY AND KEVIN MIGHT BE GETTING BACK TOGETHER.

LOL, NOW THERE IS SOME NEWS

PS. HOPE YOU ALL KNOW I'M BEING SARCASTIC!!!

Jewel, DC   May 1st, 2008 5:06 pm ET

I'm so excited about Obama winning. We need to ignore the poll that says he's losing support. When I read it I said, he doesn't have a 28% approval rating like the sitting lame duck president.

I'm so excited–we can do this America. Vote for the best candidate–vote BARACK OBAMA !!!!!!!!!!

As Hillary once said, "Yes, Yes, Yes he can!"

Obama 08

honkey white guy from cali   May 1st, 2008 5:05 pm ET

Everyone! Google Paul vs Clinton and hold on to your shirt with what you read!! I can not believe this is being hidden so well by the media and Clinton supporters claim she has a chance of winning once she is convicted in this case that she is apparently guilty of along with Gov Ed Randell and Former Pres Clinton. This will all be over soon! I know the superdelegates are watching this!

P.S. all Obama supporter should start talking about this in every post maybe the media will get the idea ! let the truth be told!

Go Obama 08 Yes We Can!!!!

Hillary McCain   May 1st, 2008 5:04 pm ET

Is his dad a former President or Governor who could wipe this clean from his record?

If so, he would make a great future President – just George.

Cosmic Comedy Queen Go Hillary!!!   May 1st, 2008 5:01 pm ET

Couldn't he afford a cab with all the money we are paying these politicians?

mitch from ark.   May 1st, 2008 5:01 pm ET

another drunken republican.

Tim   May 1st, 2008 5:01 pm ET

We want to know about Paul Vs Clinton!!!!

Zoinks   May 1st, 2008 5:01 pm ET

GIVE HIM JAIL!

Roofin Reality   May 1st, 2008 4:59 pm ET

Drunk driving is so serious. Let's hope dude can get it together and not drink and drive ever again.

Sean   May 1st, 2008 4:56 pm ET

And again you show your ignorance. One drink is not wrong. You have to be responsible. Show some judgment here.

Tony B B.C.Mich   May 1st, 2008 4:55 pm ET

12 Steps will always be better than six feet under.....!

Beltway Insider   May 1st, 2008 4:55 pm ET

Wait, I'm confused – in what way is this showing that Obama's support is failing?

Every other story get's twisted to portray that idea, so I just figured that this one would be too.

Adam in INdy   May 1st, 2008 4:55 pm ET

KIds,
Don't drink the Obama Kool-aid and Drive.

Phillip   May 1st, 2008 4:54 pm ET

Everyone makes mistakes, look at the past eight years, THANKS A LOT SUPREME COURT JUSTICES!

Bayou Joe   May 1st, 2008 4:51 pm ET

CNN , had this person been a Democrat his party would not have been mentioned. Hell it took two days to state that the Governor of NY was a Democrat.

anon   May 1st, 2008 4:50 pm ET

TO ALL THE OBAMA SUPPORTERS:

Since the media is refusing to reveal/report the Paul vs Clinton fraud case in court right now, we need to create our own movement and flood every blog on CNN and every blogging website on the World Wide Web with information from the case regardless of what the topic is. For those that don't know – Google Paul vs Clinton and hold on to your shirt with what you read!!

OBAMANACS UNITE!!! LET'S DO THIS!!
