Awaiting one county

(CNN) - Hillary Clinton leads in Indiana by four points, 52-48. But heavily-Democratic Lake County has yet to report in. It’s home to one of the state’s largest cities, Gary – and a major bloc of African-American voters.

Lake County officials have said they are waiting to count all 11,370 absentee ballots before reporting results – but that’s just about all they’re saying.

“We have called a couple of times unsuccessfully,” Pam Potesta, Democratic co-director of the Election Division in the Indiana Secretary of State’s Office, told CNN Tuesday evening. “There was no answer. We haven’t heard anything. I don’t want to assume they are having problems, but they are a large county. One thing they have against them, if you want to call it that, is they had an extra hour because of the time change.”

Potesta added that “it is not uncommon” for larger counties to take a little longer in reporting their results.

the ONLY person who can beat McCain is Hillary Clinton.

limbburger cheese is trying to make people believe Obama could take victory away from McCain in November.

of ocourse, he is using reverse psycolgy: Obama doe not have any hope of defeating Joh McCain: where as, Hillary will. She is the best candidate; knowing this Limburgercheezey is using the fact that the majority of voters who look at the world "his way" are too dull- witted to understand what is being done here. He knows Obama can't win so he is trying to make Obama have dirty laundry exposed by Obama's own Dem. party, thus enabling the Republicans to "claim" clean hands.
He is just as smelly and cheezy as ever. Some things NEVER change!

I must say I have no respect for the Republicans crossing over to vote dishonestly. This is a disgrace to the american voting process and it is just plain disgusting! Anyone who participates in this kind of process is not american. This is the kind of conduct which turns off voters especially young voters. Why don't you stop this nonsense. How would you like it if the democrats did this in the next election? I don't think you would.

OK, I think it is time for supporters for both these candidates to have a more positive dialog. Neither Obama nor Clinton will win without the others' supporters. I think both Clinton and Obama are to be commended for their showings tonight. Clinton made up some impressive ground in North Carolina and likely has a good win in North Carolina. Obama has shown that he can survive some pretty tough times and still do remarkably well.

Cheers to both candidates, and here's looking forward to focusing on McCain soon. Can't wait for the first debate!

All they have left is Michigan and Florida. Lanny the Obnoxious is screaming that if they aren't counted, the general election is lost.

I suspect that the DNC would rather alienate 2 states than 48.

People keep on saying Obama is going to lose the general election as if nothing would happen to McCain. BOTH Hillary and Obama would beat McCain out of the water. He's show that he is going to stay in this war, been quoted to know nothing about the economy, and has been caught having senile moments on camera over Al Queda and the Iran militia. People are giving more credit to McCain than he deserves.

Does anyone else besides me think Lanny Davis is crazy? Crazy with hate and malice. He just can't stand the fact Hillary is losing. This guy is a disgrace. Please CNN let him go. If I hear the word IF again from him, I will scream!

Florida and Michigan should not revote. If you break the rules-you get punished.

This county should be suspended from voting in the general election. There was no need for what happened tonight.

Votes should be recounted in this area, since it seems they took the time to make up absentee ballots.

Very easy to create absentee ballots by comparing the voter registration for those who did not show up to vote and creating absentee ballots for them.

Too much hanky pankey with this one and the government within this county should be investigated.

If Obama cannot win this on his own, which he won't, then no county should try to make up votes.

Remember Hillary Clinton is in the lead. The people of Florida and Michigan did vote and all legal votes should be counted.

Obama was the only candidate to advertise in Florida and he has the AUDACITY to state that that primary should not count. HE was also the one who decided to take his name off the ballot in Michigan. No one said he had to, but he knew he was not going to win that state and that is why he and John Edwards told their voters to vote undecided. He and John Edwards still didn't win and the winner was Hillary Clinton fair and square. Obama is a double talker and all you Obama-adddicts will learn this the hard way.

Who wants a President who does not want all votes counted? He is a loser and you all need to come to terms with that at some point.

You are all damining America if you vote for Barry Obama.

Hillary supporters who would not vote for Obama if he is the nominee should be ashamed of themselves. So much for party loyalty. Come on folks, get over yourselves. Hillary gave it a great run, but she will not be the nominee. I know this is tough to accept. If Clinton supporters do the right thing and throw their support behind Obama and the Democratic party, they will destroy McCain in a general election.

Get some sleep Clintion. It been a long hard fought battle but you lost. Face the facts. Clintion needed to win 65 -35 to have a chance. A big lost in my home state of NC and a small victory in IN or a small lost = finish.

    Vote Obama

PS. I will sleep good tonight

THANK YOU, SOMEONE FINALLY COMMENTED ON THE LAKE COUNTY DEBACLE ON AIR-Okay, I was beginning to wonder if it was me-does anyone else find it strange that Lake County hasn't reported ANY votes-although their polls closed 5 hours ago? I can buy the hand counting the absentee ballots, but what about the machines, or ballot boxes from today-hey Lake County, it is the 21st century?!?

If you listned to media reports all week long. We heard that Mrs. Clinton would win Indiana with no problem and make it close in N.C. Well the opposite has been true so far. She put up a very strong fight, but even she has to understand there is no way she can win. Time for this party to unite behind one person. That person is Barack Obama like it or not.

The MAJOR loss in North Carolina and the close call she has currently in Indiana, she needs to give it up already. Save her money and donate it to Obama's camp for November! ;-)

Voter fraud in Lake County, Indiana?

Very suspicious and this idea of holding back results is misleading.

Come on Barb in Tn? If Hillary wins in Gary will we need a recount then? If you into opening up crooked politicians, lets open up the death of Vince Foster and the Whitewater case! Or maybe Bill and Hillary's NAFTA buddy, Frank Giustra and the mining deal that netted the Clinton's over a 100 million! Maybe we should talk about the last people to get impeached from the white house, the Clinton's! Or the Peter Paul case against Hillary in California conveniently put on hold until after November, you guessed it! by a Clinton appointed Judge!
