Don't hold a second election. Discount all the MI and FL voters, disenfranchise them, and help hand the presidency to McCain. The Dems can't win the General without those 2 states. I like it!

First Poster

Print the ballotts - that cost is maybe 1/100th of the cost of places people logistics etc

And the DEMS already said - that Jon Corzine of NJ - would find the money or write a check for any and all expenses - when FL and MI first tried to get new primaies

So money is not the issue
It comes down to

is it insane to wait for August?
If NO - then insane to wait for day two of convention? ( Maybe move FL up to day of MI)

And cost - private money pays - the state runs it

Again - recall HRC said count them or revote them and BO sent in the lawyers and stopped it in FL and MI --- eventhough all costs would be paid for privately'

How we count ND and SD and WY etc and not FL and MI that can give the election to the REPS is beyond me

AS Dean said a week ago - the delegates will be seated - it is a question of how

We get it Wolf, but could I remind you how Hillary was so vocal about the red states Obama won shouldn't count. Look it up Wolfster...Florida and Michigan BOTH went to Bush.

Between your outrageous suggestoins and the Clintons with their goal post moving I have had enough of this campaign. America needs to know who the Democratic nominee is so we can move on with our lives and not keep playing into Hillary's daily soap opera.

I think they'll seat FL and MI as the republicans have, at 1/2 size. That will give Hillary a chance if she dominates all the remaining primaries. If the remaining primaries turn out relatively evenly split, MI and FL won't be enough to overcome Obama's lead.

Maththe mathamtically it is impossible for Obama to win enough delegates to reach 2025 and clinch the race before voting ends on June 3 either. So why are you Obamabots picking on Hillary saying she is the one who cannot win?

Our flag has 50 stars, not 48. We cannot disenfranchise Michigan and Florida. That's the bottom line!

Do all of the people (democrats) saying they will vote for McCain if the Fl and MI votes do not count realize they are playing right into the hands of the Republican decision makers in those states? It was the Republican's who made the decision to move the primary up, knowing full well that they were breaking the rules. So if you all want to be pawns go ahead and deliver the election on a silver platter.

The solution is not that hard. The only hard part is that anything done at this point makes the party leaders look weak and indecisive for not having done whatever they finally decide to do, at an earlier time. The people voted. Count the votes and award the delegates.

This is the worst ridiculous... I have heard!

She knows she's losing. That's an act of desperation! She never expects Obama, the people's champ to rise up the way he does. She thought the country was still in the Dark Age. She's been caught by surprised. Now she wants to change the rules in the middle of the game to favor her. It won't happen... No way!

Jason, you're calling Obama a FRAUD? A fraud of what? You don't seem to get it. Right up front, it was agreed by all running that Michigan and Florida would not count because of not having the blessing of the DNC. Clinton is behind and feels the need to manipulate the numbers in her direction by now counting Michigan and Florida.

You sound so ignorant when you say things like that, calling people FRAUD!

Why is this stil and issue? The states broke the rules and their delegates should not be seated. The voters of those states should look at towards their leadership for breaking the rules of the DNC. I do beleive that individuals in the State leadership should get fired and outseted out of their jobs for failing their states voters.

The race will go on till mid to late June. Al Gore is coming out to endorse Hillary Clinton. Edwards is coming out and endorsing Hillary Clinton.

Also at this time, Florida and Michigan will be arranged to have their votes counted as well...which Hillary will easily win both. Barack Hussein Obama made the political mistake of his life by not cooperating in order to find a way to get the votes in those two states to count.

To add salt to the wound , Bill Ayers and more Rev Wright controversy will blow up in his face and his support will disappear before you can say 'yes we can'.

Bye Bye Barack !! Its been nice knowing ya.

HILLARY O8 !!

Primaries in August 5th? The-love-drama media would rather this nomination process goes no forever regardless of the consequences for Democrats in November. The eventual nominee would need substantial time to bring the party together before the convention in end of August. Therefore campaigning till August will be disastrous. rules, agreed upon by all contestants, should be enforced. End of story, end of media fantasies1

I am an "undecided" (Obama) Michigan voter. I supported moving the primary up to have economic issues heard across the nation. Finally they have! But the DNC rules must be followed. Seat the MI and FL delegations without the ability to vote the first round - if it goes to further rounds of voting, then let them vote their candidate like any other delegate can do in the later rounds.

The Florida primary included all of the candidates' names on its ballot, and therefore the results of that election should count in some way. For holding its primary too early, Florida should be punished in the same way that the Republican Party punished it for the same infraction--by taking away half of its nominating votes at the convention.

As for Michigan, if the DNC is willing to change its rules to allow for an early August primary, then this might be the best solution for that state.

It seems unfair to basically disenfranchise the many voters of these 2 states just because of the backroom maneuverings of some state and party officials.

Obama does not need to win because he did not get the popular vote.
Most Americans want Hillary ( florida and Michigan, remember?)
But I suppose the powers that be will select us another prez like back in 2000.

Lets Face Facts...

1-Clinton agreed to the MI and FL penalty for moving the primary dates well before the campaign
2-ONLY until now, when she need them the most, does she cry foul play and blames all of the fellow democrats for not listening to the voters... as well as Obama for not changing the rules??
3-IF she and the democrats from MI and FL cared SOOOO much for the voters in MI and FL why didnt she scream and yell like she is now to make sure their votes are counted back when she agreed to those terms!!!! Why now?? If you were so compasionate about the voters why didnt HRC make a big stink then?? She maybe the front runner now if she did make a big deal out of it then...

Oh Come on....So WHO will pay for ballots, additional polling place workers and security. Not too mention the TIME needed to count the ballots and re-register voters.

They KNEW the rules...sorry, you cannot change the rules in the middle just because it doesn't suit your needs. Florida & Michigan didnt matter to Hillary in the beginning of election season, but now that she is failing and falling fast she is wanting the delegates seated and voters voices heard. She could care less about "disenfranchised" voters. Do you think she would want this to happen if SHE were in the lead in popular vote and delegates seated? NO WAY......

The fact that this must be the third article by Blitzer regarding dragging this thing on until August, either he is a dithering Clinton fan or a corporate stooge. I would guess the latter since he's never represented an opinion of his own and the continuation of this battle would suit the Republican corporate bottom dwellers just fine. Stop guiding the message before the MSM is erased altogether.

1. DNC dug its whole when they barred MI & FL. Let them come out of it.
2. What is it that Obama supporters are really AFRAID off. Both candidates have equal opportunity to compete ...and get a better result. Repolling in MI & FL is better option than letting some dimwit-super delegate decide who should run on Dem ticket.
3. The price of printing new ballots will be marginal ....given the implications of not resolving this issue fair & square.
4. Overall, conducting primaries in MI & FL is good thing for Dems....otherwise, Dems will go to Nov polls DIVIDED and that will play well the OLD MAN! and four more years of Republican rule.

Keep Obama and Clinton out of the re-vote process. Obama has made an effort to block the re-vote efforts because it is in his best interest. Clinton wants the re-vote because it is in her best interest.

Get those votes counted, let their voices be heard because it is the right thing to do, not the political thing to do. The Democratic party is split pretty much in half over this race, short of a joint Clinton/Obama ticket, getting Florida and Michigan delegates counted is the only way things will work out for the Democrats.

Of course Michigan and Florida votes must be counted and their delegations must be seated and be full participants in the DNC convention in August. It's ludicrous to think otherwise. You can't have a nominating convention with only 48 states. The nominee would not be legitimate and the Dems cannot win without Florida and Michigan in November.

Hillary Clinton will be the nominee with the votes of Michigan and Florida. That's why Obama is trying so hard to disenfranchise the voters in these states. The Democratic party cannot be in the business of disenfranchising voters. Michigan is holding an election in August anyway, it would not cost anymore to add the Presidential names to the ballot. It's a win, win solution. Florida should be counted as it was voted as both names were on the ballot, Hillary received more than twice the votes of Obama in Florida.

Hillary Clinton should be the nominee of the party because she's the most qualified, most electable candidate in the race. It IS about winning. Obama is unelectable. Obama's caucus wins are meaningless in a general election.

Hillary Clinton has already proven she can win big in the big, electoral rich states that are the must wins for the Dems in November. Obama has won exactly NONE of these states and in polls loses to McCain in matchups while Hillary beats McCain in the must win states. If you can't win in states like Ohio and Penn, you cannot win the Presidency.
Obama has outspent Hillary 4 to 1 in Ohio and PEnn, yet lost by a wide margin, only winnning the black vote.

The Democratic party would be foolish to nominate an unelectable candidate in Obama.

*VOTE SMART! VOTE PATRIOTIC! VOTE HILLARY CLINTON!*

U have to be KIDDING.
We have to get on with it Mr. Blitzer!
This election will be over May 20, 2008 and we will start preparing for John McCain on May 10, 2008. After tonight, Obama will need less than 40 pledged delegates to hold the majority throughout the rest of the primaries. We do not have time for this pandering and moving the posts and new elections, and whatever else the media can come up with.

Our lives depend on this election; war, American bankruptcy, no alternate energy, losing superpower status....

WE JUST DONT HAVE TIME FOR THIS MESS ANYMORE!

The problem is that the race won't be concluded in June...or July unless Clinton bows out. Neither candidate has enough delegates to win outright so this is headed for a floor fight at the convention in late August unless all the superdelegates decide to get behind one candidate, which I doubt.

The DNC isn't so much worried about the nominating fight as they are about the general election. If MI and FL feel disenfranchised, they may end up in McCain's column. Also, it wasn't the voters of MI and FL that broke the rules, it was the state party officials. How does it make sense to deny the residents of two entire states a say in picking the nominee? Even Guam and Puerto Rico's votes matter this year but somehow MI and FLs don't?

Obama will never let it happen because he is fraud. He wants to be the nominee and he does not care about counting every vote

So to everyone who must not have more then a third grade education. Its not changing the rules. Its well within the rules of the DNC to hold another primary.

They can hold a new primary in MI they feel the need, but in FL on Jan 29th the people of Florida already voted and Obama did run ads well before that point there and he was on the ballot on FL as well. Dean had not right to stip us of our votes as punishment for the actions of our party leaders so if our January 29th votes are not counted and Obama should win I will join my family, friends and most everybody I know in FL whose vote was stolen from them in voting for McCain in November!

What? Change the rules? These 2 states should have their votes counted and delegates sat, but in NO WAY should they determine the outcome of this democratic race.

These 2 states broke the rules, therefore they should not be rewarded.
Remember people, this only became an issue for Hillary, once she was losing.
She didn't say anything until AFTER super tuesday. And then she really has laid it on thick since Obama's 11 straight wins.

The DNC should adhere to their own rules. Otherwise, what's the point of having them?

Definitely NOT a good idea. To REWARD for breaking the rules??? They blew it. If they had kept their original dates or moved them up to Super Tuesday, along with many others, then they COULD have had a major impact. As it is, they should not have any impact at all. They'll have to wait for the general election. Otherwise, that will encourage other states in the future to break the rules, and then there will be REAL anarchy!

What is the ennsence of having rules and making the candidates sign in the first place when leaders of the party knew that they would not be man enough to stay with the rule should they have to. I am smelling fraud here and it all because Hillary is in the sencond place and no one can stand with fairness and truth in the party. Why will the USA preach democracy in other countries when they cannot stay with the with which a game was started - Democracy is all about rule of law.

Nigeria where I came from seam to better than what am witnessing here.
