From

(CNN) – It's been a negative campaign and only gotten more negative as the campaign drags on.

But do voters blame either candidate for being more negative than the other? The answer is yes.

Voters in both states were asked if they thought either candidate has attacked his or her opponent unfairly.

In Indiana, 63 percent of Democratic voters said Clinton attacked Obama unfairly. That compares 43 percent who said Obama attacked unfairly.

In North Carolina, two-thirds of Democrats say Clinton attacked unfairly while 40 percent of Obama did.

Never thought I'd see the day where blacks would turn their backs on the Clintons….

They have done everything in their power to bring obama down to their level. Because their message could not compete with his message.

Their only alternative… go negative…. tear him down. But neither Hillary supporters.. (or the campaign workers that flood this blog everyday) will ever admit it.

(cowards…)

Ellie   May 6th, 2008 8:09 pm ET

She is as low as you can get but apparently many Americans can't see past that. We as Americans, like to see all the negativity and nasty ads. We must or we wouldn't cast a hard earned vote for her

Aces full of Kings   May 6th, 2008 8:09 pm ET

Anyone offended by Wright is weak, and a racist themselves. I thought Americans had thicker skin. You wouldn't survive long out in the world. Poll this, do people who are offended by Wright support McCain if Hillary is not the nominee? Wright is history, get over it! And to my dear friends in North Carolina, YES WE CAN! Obama '08!

Gabriel Moses   May 6th, 2008 8:08 pm ET

I think a lot of black people are voting for Obama because he is black. I wonder what will happen if 90 percent of white decide to vote for Hilary.

Boston Guy   May 6th, 2008 8:08 pm ET

Cnn is the best at going negative towards someone.

Go Girl   May 6th, 2008 8:07 pm ET

I was going to change parties this year. If OBama is the winner I'll stay with my present party and vote McCain. Obama is a joke.

Lilly   May 6th, 2008 8:06 pm ET

Why are Clinton supporters so nasty?

Mark Johnson   May 6th, 2008 8:02 pm ET

I keep expecting that we've seen the bottom as far as how low Clinton and her smarmy surrogates can go, but Hillary's a real fighter and continues to make new progress downward.

Pistoff   May 6th, 2008 8:02 pm ET

Hillary = Mudslinger

Anon   May 6th, 2008 7:59 pm ET

Indiana, this is not looking too good for you, you say you dont trust her AND she has run the most negative campaign, yet you are voting for her…..speaks volums. Dont prove yourself to be as uneducated as the polls say you are, WISE UP! Everything that glitters aint gold!

Zoe   May 6th, 2008 7:58 pm ET

So why vote for such a mean spirited person….????
Go figure.

Guess people do funny things when they are made to feel fear….
Look how far it got Bush and his thugs.

Teri   May 6th, 2008 7:57 pm ET

Hey, that's politics. You state your case, and if you don't like what the other person is saying, you counter. If you can't stand the heat, don't run for president. The republicans will eat Obama alive if he is nomimated.

JF Las Vegas   May 6th, 2008 7:53 pm ET

Everyone knows that Clinton changes the rules of the game as she goes along. If something does not suit her fancy, she moans and belleyaches until all the media's attention is upon her - then she strikes. Such a loser.

I did not get a chance to comment in the ticker the last two days because they are always "closed to comments." I wanted to share a comment with everyone about Clinton making it sound good that she thinks the oil companies should pay the federal tax on gas. And, may I ask you, who do you think the oil companies are going to go after to recover the money that they are forced to pay out for the taxes? You, me and every driver in the good old USA. Don't kid yourself, Clinton is not going to tax her wealthy friends and supporters to foot the bill, the tab will be on you.

When Obama was ahead in the popular votes and pledged delegates, everything was fine, and then, all of a sudden, the news media couldn't wait to protray the Wright messages with the hope of causing Obama to stumble in the polls. Was the Clintons behind a lot of this exposure on Wright bringing Obama down? This whole entire thing came about on the heels of the news commentators making a comment that it would be best for Clinton to step down. She defiled everyone and decided to "hang in there" and by doing so, the negatism about Obama started, not only with her, but with the new media as well. It was the same thing on the news night after night after night. I literally thought i would scream if I had listen to this Wright nutcase one more time.

Let's face it, Clinton is a poor loser, and she is backed by another poor loser, her husband, Bill.

Obama made a comment during one of his recent speeches that I have to agree with 100%. In the last 16 years, the same incumbents have been relected to office year after year, and those same politcans have done nothing extraordinary to change the path the United States has been teeering on, Obama admitted that America needs a change, a real change. We need to vote out all the senators and congressmen/women that has been in office for way too long and put some new faces in that will work with the president for a change in America. Some incumbents have been unseated by new candidates, and we need to continue on this trend.

Let's get back to the issues that are facing every American worker today - shove the negatism aside and let the "loser" deal with it. I am a 60 year old white female, and, I believe in Obama and what he stands for - it will not take only him, but our senators and congressmen/women to bring about "real" change. It's no longer a "You scratch my back, and I'll scratch yours" game anymore. The Clinton days are over and I hope they will never take over the White House again!

I am a democrat and I approve this message. A vote for Obama is a real change for America. Mr. Wright can take his $142,000.00 Mercedes and his 10 million dollar mansion and do whatever he pleases, he has shown his true colors, he is not for unity, he is for the unrest - whites vs blacks. For the likes of him, it causes the division among races and should not be permitted. But, of course, he is protected by the First Amendment Rights, but who has to listen to him? Certainly not me! He should not be given the glorification he seems to be receiving when the news media plays the video over and over - enough is enough!

Give the senior citizen attack dog her bone, she is just about ready to start gnawing on one.

Obama 08
if not, McCain - 08
Never Clinton!

james   May 6th, 2008 7:53 pm ET

by the way, think about this when people get to adjust to a person they will support that person in whatever he/she does even tough they make mistakes and don't do what they should to, Hillary should sacriface her own ambitions for the Usa and for the world.
some of you people are to foolish to see that it is over, the only think she does now is help mccain.
It is time for a democrat, for the world!
take the blindfold off people.

KW, Vail AZ   May 6th, 2008 7:52 pm ET

It seems that if anyone says anything about Obama that is less than glaring, his supporters consider it negative. Maybe they don't thinks he's tough enough for the job. Whine, whine, whine.

karen from va   May 6th, 2008 7:51 pm ET

Hi James… All the Women aren't voting for Hillary. I'm in her demographic and I think she's devious, dishonest and a major discredit to my gender. I vote for the person, not the party, and count me in for Obama.

Ann Romero   May 6th, 2008 7:51 pm ET

CCN is the attacker in this matter, that is how you continue to spin things. Obama is a looser!!!!!!

Jane   May 6th, 2008 7:50 pm ET

Sigh! It will be so nice when she is finally kicked out of the race. Onward and upward.

HRC...the Bell Tolls for Thee...   May 6th, 2008 7:49 pm ET

Jay   May 6th, 2008 7:48 pm ET

OBAMA IS GOD! Ya right..what a joke..he will NEVER WILL THE GENERAL ELECTION!

james   May 6th, 2008 7:47 pm ET

how typical that all the women vote for hillary and when she doesnt win then vote for mccain, you fools your country is on the edge of oblivion how could you even think of voting republican in a time like this! just vote democrat when you don't want your country to be like zimbabwe! think before you act despite if it is not your favourite person.

fran   May 6th, 2008 7:46 pm ET

I'm glad you changed the title of this ticker. I'm sure you got a lot viewers who took offense to it. When a man goes all out for something, he's considered a "go getter", strong and determined. When it's a women she's called an "attack dog". And are we to think that sexism isn't alive and well in America

annie   May 6th, 2008 7:46 pm ET

If NC knows who won 5min. after the polls close why bother voting. Just give it to obama bin lyin' and not waste the tax payers dollars on the sham of voting. Such a disgrace! Don't know who in their right mind would want a terrorist supporter for president. If Hillary can't pull this out - its McCain all the way! Thanks to the biased new media promoting obama bin lyin all the time and lying on Hillary, we could be stuck with the Hamas picked candidate.

Democrats Rule   May 6th, 2008 7:46 pm ET

Please please please let this be done today - Senator (soon to be President) Obama has won it - now let's end it and go to work on the general election. YES WE CAN!

Ann   May 6th, 2008 7:44 pm ET

This is not true. Obama played non-stop the race card. He got over 90% of the Black vote. The African Americans are voting for skin color. Just think how will this play in November when their contribution will be only 12%. Obama cannot win the general election.

Hillary or McCain!

Tobias   May 6th, 2008 7:44 pm ET

Obama won't win. He is unelectable and the super delegates will make sure they choose a winner and that's Clinton. Vote smart, vote Clinton.

concerened   May 6th, 2008 7:39 pm ET

turn out the lights, the party's over… time to call it quites Hillary. After the delegates are awarded tonight you will be even further in the hole than you are now. Obama will be our nominee!!!!! Unite behind Obama. Do not desert your party, if you break it down by where they stand on the issues, you will see they share many, if not most of the same views.

To all those who would rather cut off their nose to spite their face by now either not voting or voting for McCain, you will certainly regret you decision if and when a Rupubllcan led White House sinks this country deeper into a recession, deeper into Iraq…

Len   May 6th, 2008 7:38 pm ET

No surprise here.

She is a Clinton after all. Well above rules and laws.

AB   May 6th, 2008 7:33 pm ET

Yeah, I think that Hillary Clinton is divisive with an overwhelmingly high level of social deviance.

Ann   May 6th, 2008 7:32 pm ET

If this country is still run by the grace of God in the future…hopefully Chelsea will take up where her parents left off. She will make a great President! She also is smart and for all you people who think Bill Clinton is an idiot…I've heard he's a Rhode scholar…and what's YOUR IQ?

Shirl   May 6th, 2008 7:30 pm ET

If Obama wins I will vote for McCain, period.

Obama 08:white, female and 60   May 6th, 2008 7:29 pm ET

If they don't trust her, think she is an attack dog then why are they viting for her….could it be race??

Patrick in Georgia   May 6th, 2008 7:29 pm ET

Everyone seems to be so pleased that Clinton has turned the negative heat on Obama…and that we Obama supporters will just fall in line and vote for her in November. Don't believe for one second that this will happen.

Well all of you Hillary Clinton fans listen up…After all of the shenanigans played in this race by the Clintons, the presumed leaders of the Democrat establishment, as a long time Democrat I will be more than pleased to to hand my vote to John McCain just so he can do his best to reverse Roe v Wade. She'll be the single biggest reason that the most loyal portion of the Democrat base, church-going African-Americans, vote Republican in the fall and will change the dynamics of the Democrats forever.

And if Hillary supporters are so ready to support John McCain if Obama is nominated….go right ahead and vote for him. You still get rewarded with a Roe v Wade reversal on a new Supreme Court.

That should be punishment enough for ya!

Matt   May 6th, 2008 7:28 pm ET

That picture is Hillaryous. Win or lose I cant wait to see many superdelegates jump ship from the S.S. Clinton tomorrow. The SDs will see this and realize that a candidate with some many negatives has no chance of becoming a viable general election candidate.

young, gifted and black   May 6th, 2008 7:27 pm ET

Well obviously people continue to vote for her… i love how her divisive tactics are labeled as being a "fighter" , "determined", "tough" or "fighting for the American people". Quite frankly I don't want nor do I need for her to fight for me and if so, her taking pages out of the republican playbook to tear down Obama isn't the way to fight for America. I can only wait for the day when Obama is named the nominee and Clinton will HAVE to support him, of course it won't be genuine but it will be great to see…

DEMOCRATS UNITED FOR OBAMA 08

mike   May 6th, 2008 7:26 pm ET

Then why is it working? Because the media loves it.
CNN and MSNBC legitimize the negative attacks constantly. People watching then think it is just politics. That's why it's working.
Those of you out there accusing Obama supporters of being racist should look in the mirror. Clinton started with 50% support from blacks. Then she started her attacks and that was it. She can't win legitimately so she smears the opponent. Problem is, Obama will probably win anyway and the damage will be done. Yes these are Bush tactics-destroy your opponent if you can't win fairly.

Ann   May 6th, 2008 7:26 pm ET

Clinton is so much more intelligent than Obama. He doesn't know enough about being a Presidential candidate to stand up to anything she can dish out. She has the experience and integrity to run this country but he can not even discuss economical issues in depth. He talks constantly but never says anything. So many people are snowed by his charm and think it is the trendy thing to do..vote for the young, black man..you supporters may get more than you bargained for….maybe he can get Wright as his running mate! Now that would be trendy!!!When you get as old as I am, you have been through enough Presidents to know a snow job when you see and hear one. He AIN'T the man for this job! Thank God for Hillary and GOD BLESS AMERICA~~~and by the way, if he was PURPLE but intelligent and had the experience..I would vote for him..color is NO issue here.

What's really shocking is that they would vote many people who voted for Hillary thinks she attacked unfairly, and Obama didn't. I don't get how people would allow that kind of politics.

Jack in ND   May 6th, 2008 7:23 pm ET

""Quit blaming her. Or at a minimum, report the negative campaigning fairly!!!""

Independent99999   May 6th, 2008 7:22 pm ET

"WHY are people voting for her?"

A bunch of suckers looking for $30 gas rebate and a bunch of uneducated people.

Hillary's support reminds me of how leaders are elected in 3rd world countries like India. A leader with most lies and most political pandering garners most votes.

America is slipping into 3rd world country standards when Hillary is getting any votes

Politics and sports are very similar, and if you know anything about sports, anyone can see that Obama has been playing defense pretty much most of the time. Clinton's offense is like the New England Patriots– flashy, under-handed, dishonest, and favored to win, but in the end, didn't…

Janet, Toronto /USA   May 6th, 2008 7:19 pm ET

NO surprise at these comments, she really doesn't have the Diplomacy needed to bring this country back on its feet.

United States of America to Divided States of America!

The only reason Hillary is CNN's prized fighter is because CNN wants to keep their ratings high with this race not ending.

Unfortunately, one of the consequences of promoting Hillary's divisive speeches is that it alienates voters within the Democratic party.

I am very tired of all the fighting going on between Clinton and Obama. I hope Obama wins in the race today. The nomination for the Democratic parties keep fighting each other, Clinton being the worse of the two, I just may jump to the other side. I want to hear about issues not the silly, let's throw in the kitchen sink. If Clinton wins the ticket for the democratic party, I will not vote for her. Eight years of Bill Clintons lies were enough for me. Hilary will say anything to get you to vote for her.

B   May 6th, 2008 7:14 pm ET

Duh. I cannot believe Clinton pretends as though she doesn't know what people are talking about, when they say she's too negative!

Thanks, Barack for taking the high road. That alone is proof that you can change politics for the better.

We can't wait for you to be our president!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

joseferic   May 6th, 2008 7:13 pm ET

Don't be fooled. Clinton wants to damage Obama so that he can not win in November. Then she will run in 2012. My question to Clinton and her supporters is; with all the experinces she claims, why has she fail to beat Obama all these while? If she can not prove her experience through this primaries how much should we trust her in 2012? What will be the difference then? That will be George Bush's Fourth term. Sounds good to you?
Please get behind Obama now and save this country from greedy people live the Clintons and the republicans.

Tangerine   May 6th, 2008 7:12 pm ET

Steve   May 6th, 2008 7:12 pm ET

That many people in Indiana feel Clinton is more negative, yet she's probably going to win the state? Maybe open primaries aren't the answer. It'll be interesting to see how many people who identify themselves as 'Republican' voted for her. Operation Chaos strikes again?

HillarySkank on myspace   May 6th, 2008 7:12 pm ET

Yep, a female dog is the correct term for that woman. And if Obama supporters are on the left and Hillary is in the middle, I will happily walk over her with my cleats on to vote for McCain should she steal this election.

The exit polls are bogus, the same people saying they would vote for McCain over Obama are those same dittoheads who are really republicans anyway. If I didn't dislike her so much, I would say that Rush and his stooges deserved a Clinton win. The reality though is that Clinton and McCain and Rush are practically the same person.

That is her problem.

She has just said she will not listen to the economist who ALL have noted her gas tax policy is counter productive. So that is a sign of things to come in her administration. Why do I want an extra $30 this summer if it will cost thousands of jobs? how selfish. And cost more damage to our highway and bridge system. how dangerous.

She is the one who has run the negative attack ads, she is the one who won't listen to the expert economists who say that gas holiday thing is a gimmick that won't help anyone, she is the one who claims "experience," when she has no basis for that claim…or does being the "first lady" count for political experience these days?? Obama is the one who thinks and reasons about issues, he has integrity, honesty, and an understanding of the rest of the world.
Obama in 2008!

And it's 100% CNN's fault for airing it day after day after day.
Cool it and report fairly, what are trying to outdo faux news?
You are getting old and will switch to msnbc for as long as I can

I'm shocked Obama has 40% saying he was the attack dog… this guy doesn't even wear the pants in his own family!
