What a great victory in a big state for Hillary. And Obama winning NC with 90% of the black vote..his constituency's voting patterns are so against what he preaches and all the togetherness candy that he likes to talk about. I hope Hillary is the nominee otherwise i will sit it out in November, i dont want to vote republican or for a superficial type like Obama who cant for the love of god win a big state..

Obama...start the change by addmiting that the ppl who vote for you have nothing to do with the message of 'unity', its just an ingenuous talk from you.

LOOKS LIKE ANOTHER 4 YEARS OF BUSH!!!!!!! Obama can only win the states that McCain will win in the general election. I am from SC and although Obama killed Clinton in the primary.....we will be a Republican state in November. I wouldn't get too excited about the African American vote handing Obama the nomination....they cannot overpower a Rebublican state in the general election.

Mike in NYC: "Southern Democrats, like Western Red State Democrats, tend to be quite liberal."

Y'know it helps to actually be *in* the South if you're going to talk about it. Southern Democrats come in two distinct types: urban, highly-educated progressives (like in Asheville, Chapel Hill, Durham) and moderate-to-conservative blue-collar populists out in the countryside.

Contrary to your thinking, not all old-school Dixiecrats got the message in '68 and switched parties. There's still a sizeable number of people who vote Democrat in part because they've always voted Democrat, who still revere FDR for his New Deal policies, but who will vote pro-life, pro-gun and anti-gay.

North Carolina has more urban, high-education areas than most southern states, and it does have a history of being more progressive than its neighbors. But don't let that fool you into thinking the average Democrat tobacco farmer would have much in common with a kid from Portland (or even Asheville, for that matter).

If I have found out earlier, I wouldn't have regirstered as a democrat because, guess what, the party is owned by black people. I hear all the time that if Hillary wins the nominee, black people will not vote in November.....really? That scares me

I consider myself a moderate liberal and I will never vote for Obama, at least with McCain you know what you are getting. With Obama you can only HOPE for a better CHANGE. Sorry, but this country is in need of a solid leader to gamble with a great speech giver. Obama and his supporters deserve each other. If he wins they can only blame themselves, like Bush supporters are doing now.

Southern Democrats, like Western Red State Democrats, tend to be quite liberal.

I live in North Carolina, am a 64 year old Caucasian woman who voted for Obama and has supported his campaign from the first day I heard him. Never since John Kennedy have I believed so much in a presidential candidate. It has nothing to do with his race.
I am tired of the pundits at CNN making my vote irrelevant by their constant referral to the "Black block" voting in NC for Obama. I know lots of "whites" who have supported him - not because of his race but because he is the hope of tomorrow and we are so fortunate he wants to lead us.
Here in NC we think for ourselves, whatever our color, and as for me, I vote for the candidate I believe will be the best for America.

Don't listen to Rush 'cuz he's too full of himself. Watch Fox News 'cuz I tired of Dan Rather's editorializing posing as news, then Big 3 Network monopoly crumbled beneath the advent of internet/cable outlets. Hurray!

Gotta love them D's, tho. Is there anything more entertaining than elitist D's ripping fellow elitist D's, while both pander to whatever subset of the electorate that they feel is their manifest destiny to follow them? Sharpton admonishes Obama while he grudgingly disses his 20 year spiritual mentor/family pastor as the woman a majority of Americans consider just plain evil slams them both. And I haven't even mentioned that Barack is the most liberal member out of 100 US Senators, a title even Kennedy can't claim.

Question. When whichever of these two lose in the fall, what will the inevitable excuse be? The primary was too long? America is too racist? Too chauvenistic? The "other" liberal spoiled it ala Nadar/Gore? Somebody man up and tell me up front what the delusional out will be, other than liberalism is a deserved loser?

THERE IS A REASON RUSH AND THE R'S WANT TO RUN AGAINST HILLARY - they have much, much more on her that they are saving. Obama is too much a gentleman to throw the stuff at her during this primary. MARK MY WORDS: If she manages to con the rest of the Superdelegates to giving her the nomination, WE WILL ALL BE VERY, VERY SORRY - and maybe end up tempted to vote for McCain (IF THE OLD ONE RETURNS).

GO BARACK ! Show you can win even with the Republicans doing all they can to help Hillary.

Obama will carry NC. No doubt.

But this is exactly why the Dems will never win the GE - you're too divided for your own good. The Republicans aren't. They wouldn't care if David Duke was running in their party - they ONLY vote party. Regardless of the outcome. All they care about is beating the Dems. It's the same old song and dance every GE.

If the Dems want to win - UNITE and quit bickering like little children. If not, McCain WILL be President from 2009-2012. Live with it.

My parents (in their 60s, solidly blue collar backgrounds) and I (29 years old, Master's Degree education level) both voted today in NC. My parents switched their political affiliation from Rep. to Independent to be able to vote in today's primary. We *all* voted for Obama. I'm a woman and voted for him over Hillary, and my parents are 60+ and are moderate to conservative and voted for him. My husband voted for him last week through early voting available here in NC. We're all caucasian too, fwiw.

My family considers Obama electable, suffice to say.

Go Obama go!!!

The caucus in Guam showed 95% of the votes in and Sen. Obama was leading by 7%. Later it showed 100% of the votes in and Sen. Obama and Sen. Clinton was tied at 50%. Forgive me, but it seems that there is something wrong with this math. How can you make up 7% with only 5% outstanding.

Could it be election fraud?

in any job.... they look for experience before they hire you.

experience is definitely important in attaining the highest office in this country! Obama can stay in the senate and wait couple years before running again.... prove himself.

The country will not elect a black man or woman to be president. It is the cold hard truth. Ever been around all the rednecks in the south? No way in hell are either going to be elected. It is very sad, but it is very much the truth.

The truth is these liberal voters who are voting for Obama are going to vote for the democrats anyway in the general election regardless of who's on the ballot. However, Hillary is winning all the conservative Reagan democrat voters, these are the same voters who might swing to the republicans if Obama is the nominee. Pay attention Superdelegates!!!

Following the primaries since the beginning, I have yet to hear that white voter should also vote for Barack Obama as the reality is that his genes are half white..
All I hear is the black people will vote for him ,over and over again,
what about the part of him that is white.
Is there no black and white in America or only Black or White.
It would be respectful if sometime it would mention his identiy.
which he is.......
I am a Canadian who for the first time I got excited for your country's election. I believe the whole world is watching....
