PS. Rolling her eyes does not mean Mrs. Edward is racist (and it does not mean she is not a racist). It simply means she has heard this comment too many times before, whereas thinks women are not being given their due... (hence she likely leans toward Sen. Clinton, whereas John leans toward Obama).

I supported John and Elizabeth Edwards, but I think they both have shown an incredible lack of leadership, honesty and love of country by staying on the sidelines. I would like them to endorse Obama, because he represents the policies Edwards claimed to espouse. Clinton is and always has been completely controlled by lobbyists, has no history of standing up for American workers, and her health plan is about forcing Americans to buy insurance form the most corrupt business in America – Health Insurance companies. We do not need HEALTH INSURANCE – WE NEED HEALTH CARE. Get rid of the middle men, and just have a direct delivery government health care program!.

That said, if Edwards cannot choose between Clinton and Obama, he never had any business being President. This is a fairly clear choice, and whatever he decided, no one would die. If this simple choice overwhelms him, his is a panty waste.

I don't understand why they decided to speak out today, they already have their candidate picked. She likes Hillary health care, John said Obama can bring the country together and Hillary is old politics.

People want change, John be the man and endorse Obama. Each candidate has his or her flaws just choose the best.

I believe John is afraid to choose Obama because of what the wife would think and we already know she wants Hillary because of the woman thing, typical.

PS. If Hillary was the best candidate I would vote for her.

The candidates are right in these fools' back yard, and they haven't spoken up until today, and even then in a print interview. Face it: working people have seen enough of both candidates to make up their minds one way or the other, on their own. Beyond today, John Edwards' opinion isn't going to matter much anyway and neither will his wife's. He had a chance to step forward and make his voice known, but silence is golden. so, you are for a guy who wants to raise taxes on the rich. Well, fine, the rich will still be rich and they will lay off more of the workers and then you will be poorer. It's the rich that provide the jobs.
All these social programs have been bad for the people. The welfare has replaced fathers in the home. And created a host of other problems.
We could have oil dependcy with nuclear...but no because of a movie.We could drill more of our own but no, because enviromental whackos. Which is not helping the "people".
We are forbiden to build roads and buildings because of a frog or bird. That is not helping the people.
These last 45 years doing things on principles has hurt the people more than helped.
John Edw. just another loser. Who cares. They got theirs and I don't think they give a whit either. Probably a hobby to them.

Elizabeth Edwards is battling cancer and I am not going to say anything
negative about her and I wish her well. However, I do believe that John
is behind Senator Obama. During the debates, he kept saying how he
and Obama thought along the same lines. John may not want to upset
his wife at this stage and may be the reason why he is staying neutral.
However, if he is looking forward to a job in Washington, I do believe that
he will endorse Obama after today. After all , I believe that John Edwards
is one of the honest politicians that Senator Obama seeks.

OK...Edwards touched on something I've been thinking about too...If Obama is elected, think what it will do for black folks in America. There would be no more excuses about how they can't achieve their dreams here. Though I know it won't wipe away racism...I think it will shut down a lot of old arguments and force some people to belly up to the bar for their own advancement.

My first choice for the nomination was Edwards, with that being said I am disappointed he and his wife have not made a decision by now. I have actually lost respect for this man and his wife. They have the ability to choose a candidate to endorse and potentially end this ridiculousness that is damaging the democratic party. Edwards and Gore would hold heavy influence on the opinions of democratic voters, but they refuse to do anything. Howard Dean's cries to align behind your chosen candidate and end the squabling are apparently falling on deaf ears.

Talk about hedging your bets. Edwards talks about "old politics" but that is exactly what he is doing. He is sticking his finger in the air and checking which way the wind blows. I lost respect for this guy about two months ago when I realized he wasn't going to endorse anyone because he didn't want to take a chance and endorse the wrong candidate. Wake up people.

Symbolic? What do you mean symbolic? This is not about being symbolic, it is about electing the most qualified candidate that can bring about the change needed as well as unite the party as well as the country. It seems to me that the only one qualified to do that is Obama. He has proven his ability to cross the line and is willing to tell it how it is even if it huts. He also is not trigger happy and is more willing to talk about those things that divide us as well as the world than anyother candidate since Kennedy.

But I am really for some equality that I hope he will bring. I was just like to see someone who looks like me, someone who can relate to me bring about some fairness.

Where is the diversity on CNN. Where are ANY black anchors.

I watch CNN, yes I do. But it makes me sick to my stomach that they think they could ever be fair/ impartial.

I havte lost all respect for both Edwards!! Why did she roll her eyes. The heck with her and her opinion. And John Edwards wants Barack to have more substance. Ah...where is your substance buddy. No one needs your comments nor your endorsements.

I know that everyone is so excited to see a woman or African American as president. It will be the first time in history of the United States that something like this has happened. I just want some people to realize. This is bigger than Hillary or Barack. It is a symbol on how American has matured past slavery and segregation.

Hillary thinks its tough being a woman and trying to run for president. It is even harder for Barack Obama. At least, all the past presidents look like her. If there was a black president before, then I could see her gripe for saying that there has never been a female president. Yes, there has been male presidents forever, but none of which were black or close to it. So my friends...I believe Barack Obama has it harder than a lot of you are willing to admitt.

Where do I begin? Let's see: His father is African, and his mother is American. That makes him an African American (DUH!)

Would you like the name of another African Amrican? Charlize Theron. She was born in South Africa!

Do you see the pattern? African American means an American with African roots – it doesn't mean they have to be 100% black. In fact, they don't have to be black at all. They simply have to have African roots.

I think John Edwards is leaning toward endorsing Barack Obama for two reasons: 1.) because he (rightly, in my opinion) attacked the heck out of Hillary in the early debates and 2.) because, if he's right about Hillary representing the "old style" politics, which I believe she does, if she was nominated as the Dem nominee she'd try to get a super-established older politician probably from the South or Southwest to be her running mate, whereas Barack would be more apt to pick a younger, not-as-experienced-in-Washington running mate that mirrors his own image as "not tainted by beltway politics".

Amazing! They didn't endorse anybody and all these supporters are putting words in their mouths, drawing their own conclusions and touting them like they are reality!

I'd really like for Edwards, the one that counts, endorses Obama... but I'm going to wait until he actually does it before I get happy.
