Once you register to vote for a primary or caucus....you will stay registered for the same party in the GE.....no switchbacks.

How sad that this has been going on. I'm from Canada and heard about this well before the Texas and Ohio primaries.

I'm sure the media was well aware also.....just ratings prove more important than true democracy.

What exactly do you think is the driver in all this? OpCHAOS is in DIRECT, yes DIRECT, response to all the Dems and so-called independents (sorry, if you only vote for Dems and REFUSE to vote for a Conservative now and then, you technically cannot be called an independent) who crossed over in Republican open primaries gave us McCain as the Republican nominee.

Nothing illegal has been done in OpCHAOS. Changing your political party is not illegal. Voting for the candidate of your choice is not illegal. In fact, my grandfather said the only time he ever voted Republican was to keep McGovern out of the White House.

OpCHAOS is in no way "tampering" with the election process. The national parties control the specifics (ie rules) on how they want to select their nominee. The primary process is arbitrary, at best, and is not governed by the Constitution.

Democrats are simply the Gang that Can't Shoot Straight. They were handed this election on a silver platter, but still managed to open the door up into their noses. If these clowns can't even manage the process to SELECT their candidate, how in the hell do you think they can defend against Global Jihad?

I don't see what people say is so "unAmerican" about a Republican voting in a Democratic primary, if the state party's rules specifically allow it.

The Republican primary is over. McCain won. The only choice voters now have is who they want on the other ticket. It's possible that some will vote based on whom they think is more beatable. I also believe that many will vote based on whom they feel would be the best alternative (or at least the less bad alternative) if McCain loses. Clearly Republicans are as split on that as Democrats, since the crossover voters are splitting down the middle in most states.

If the Republican race had been over when my state voted, I would have voted in the Democratic primary, not because I give a hill of beans what Rush says, but because I find one of the Democrats to be a much worse choice than the other.

Besides, as I said before, the rules specifically allow it. Keep in mind, these same rules are the ones that are repeatedly being used to defend not counting the votes in FL and MI, two states who make up 10% of the US population. If THOSE RULES make that outcome fair, thhen THESE RULES make this just as fair.

I don't know about the rest of you Dems, but the MSM has exhausted the Rev. Wright story to such a degree that I don't think he would be as effective a weapon as the republicans think.

I think the silver lining here as that this saturation media is making many of us desensitized to this issue. I know I'm sick to death of it already!!

This type of perversion of the democratic process is precisely why I left the Republican party after 31 years. It has totally undermined the credibitility of the party, cheapens the idea of democracy,
and, in my opinion, borders on treason.

As a veteran who proudly served his country when many others managed to avoid service, I must say that I feel that this is an insult to every person who served and defended our country and its way of life. Rush, you have made an absolute mockery of the system you claim to be so supportive of.

That being said, I have not since become a Democrat, however I do now call myself a "Recovering Republican."

Further controversy: The Secretary of State purged over a million names from the voter rolls. Obama blogs are playing this news up today as if it were more than a routine removal of voters who had died, were duplicated, or who moved.

Still standing after all this and having McCain and Clinton campaigns coordinating attacks as well as Bill and Chelsea actively campaigning, Obama has withstood a test that ensures he is the one that will win in November.

In the 2002 primaries, Cynthia McKinney (yes...the Anti-Christ herself) as running for re-election for her seat in the House against fellow Democrat Denise Majette and pretty much every Republican and Libertarian in the District registered and then voted for Majette, thus propelling her to victory.

While Rush and the rest may like to think they are having an impact, I think far too much is being made of this story. I voted this morning in Indiana. There were only two people ahead of me at the table to sign in–they each asked for a Republican ballot. People, for the most part, are going to vote for the person they most want to be President. In my case, that's Hillary Clinton and that's how I cast my vote. To denigrate any of her wins as being the result of some sort of trickery is to denigrate those, like me, who voted for her believing her to be the best candidate.

A stop should have been put to this practice when he first began, per the suggestion of Rush Limbaugh. To change your party status to vote for a candidate that you know you will not support in a general election in November in an effort to create chaos is just plain wrong. Some polls are saying that Clinton is more electable than Obama, nothing could be further from the truth, Clinton is more beatable running against McCain. someone should really investigate rush limbaugh's inflamory rhettoric and the legalities of inciting voter faud. i would like to suggest that se legislation be undertaken in the new administration on the rules of engagement for party switching.there should be a limit on when and how long this can be in affect. this will give some food for thought for those who want to fraudulently vote.

Also, I think Clinton is actually the stronger candidate and a better match against McCain. Obama has a lot of liabilities such as Wright, his "bitter" remarks and so forth. Is Rush so certain that Clinton is a weaker candidate? I think a fair argument can be made for both Obama and Clinton being the stronger candidate so it's a toss-up.

The longer this election drags on, the more democrats will register to vote and the more attention the democratic candidate, whoever it is, will get. It's a number's game, stupid - the democrats will greatly outnumber republicans by the end of the Democratic primary and who do you think the democrats will likely vote for in the presidential election? Probably the democratic candidate!!!!

This is a prime reason why the Primary Process needs to be updated. When a state allows an open primary... they are open to attack from the opposing Party.

This seems almost calculated to hurt Sen. Clinton. Almost every poll in last three days on McCain v. Democrats – and there have been 11 of them that I have seen – shows Sen. Clinton a stronger opponent than Sen. Obama. And why is the canard about Texas repeated. The exit polls from Texas show that more Republicans voted for Obama than for Clinton. Indeed her margin there would have been at least 18,000 votes greater if no Republicans had voted and she would have earned a couple more delegates. All of this is now on the record. Why do journalist fall victim to the Obama strategy on this. Look also at those votes on Hilton Head Island in the S.C. primary. Do you really think those Republicans suddenly became enamored of an African American Liberal Democrat from Illionois. Get real!

Operation Chaos: Full Speed Ahead!

This situation makes me so mad. I say that as someone who considers herself conservative. This is a dirty and underhanded way to influence our democratic election process. Rush and anyone who does what he says should be ashamed of themselves. Hillary Clinton will not be easy to beat – otherwise she would already be out of the race. She has enough baggage and told enough lies that no one should still be able to listen to her without gagging, and yet she's still in. So what makes you think she can't do the same with the Republicans? Whatsoever you reap, that shall you also sow Rush.

Even though I couldn't vote for Obama like I wanted to, since NY is a closed primary. I am all in favor of closed primaries. Why on earth would a "private" club allow outsiders to decide who leads it? Doesn't make any sense to me.

At the start, the Reps voted for Obama, thinking he was a weak candidate, but when they saw him surge, they're going: "Ok, I take that back, just kidding on Obama..." So now, they have to vote Clinton in. Hmmm... just a thought.

Why can't Barack seal the deal? Because he has TWO opponents that are using their voter base against him: the Republicans AND Hillary supporters. I shows me how strong Barack's base is that he can withstand TWO forces going at him. But because of this: he is an underdog and is not getting a fair shake.

hardline conservatives do not want a black man in the White House. That is a fact. Ask a hardline lifetime conservative how many times they voted for a black person in any election. At least, for them having a white "conservative looking" democrat win the presidency is more stomachable than having an African American in the white house.

Obama supporters seem to hate McCain and Clinton voters more or less equally. Similarly, Clinton supporters seem to hate McCain and Obama equally and of course McCain supporters equally despise Clinton and Obama. Wouldn't it be lovely if we actually wound up with a three-way tie in the election and no one got a majority? Now that would be chaos! And I'd love to see it!

I'd also love to see a box on the ballot for "None of the above." Between a guy on one side who seems to be perfectly willing to tax us all into poverty to pay for his idiot wars and one of two people on the other side who seem to be perfectly willing to tax us all into poverty to pay for their idiot feel-good socialist money-wasters, we're headed for economic disaster no matter who wins.

Seems fitting to me since we all know that Hillary has been campaigning for the republican vote. That is the reason for the Super Delegates. Their job is to exercise their judgement in these things in case republicans try to cause chaos. aif it does turn out that republicans give Hillary a win, then I suspect that the Superdelegates will throw their support behind Obama to throw off this so called chaos.

I heard on CNN last night that republicans would now prefer to run against Obama because they feel McCain can win over him. The idea of republicans wanting to run against Clinton because they feel that they could win over her is now nil and void. They see Clinton as the stronger candidate now and feel Obama would be the easier candidate to beat. So CNN check back from your shows last night and report the correct thing that was said by the republicans. Please do not give out old news to cover up Obama's weakness against the republicans. Clinton is now the stronger candidate and we all can see that except those ignorant Obama supporters who feel that he can do no wrong.

If they can cause it to happen in a large state such as TEXAS and OHIO. They can have their way with people of INDIANA. It is just unbelieveable that common US population cannot think logically and make a decision on their own. They have to rely on a lowest of low life person like RUSH LIMBAUGH. Too bad this hasn't gotten much mainstream media attention. I listen to this chatter on talk radio all the time. On Friday a gentleman from Texas called in to Hannity's radio show to let us all know that Hillary's popular vote win would not have happened had Operation Chaos not worked. I hope the Supers are paying attention, as it significantly diminishes what she calls her ability to win the big states.

Voting for someone you don't support is lying. Lying is still a sin (as far as I know). Why would anyone listen to someone who encourages you to lie? It makes no sense to me at all.

This is why she won Ohio and almost won Texas, and why she will win Indiana. It's probably why she appears "more electable" in November according to some polls.
