Hillary Clinton plans to appear at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Sen. Hillary Clinton added a previously unscheduled campaign stop Wednesday in West Virginia, soldiering on after a split decision in Tuesday's voting in Indiana and North Carolina, her aides said.

The senator plans to appear at 11:45 a.m. at Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, Clinton aides told reporters about 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Her daughter, Chelsea Clinton, had already been scheduled to speak at the university.

Who cares what Hillary does at this point. She just lost the nomination last night! What's the Democratic nominee (Obama) doing? That's the more relevant question!

SF Bay Area   May 7th, 2008 12:40 pm ET

Dennis F,

You are a Hillary supporter who doesn't support Obama because in your words "lack of good judgement" and "lack of trust in him".
Ok, let's go over Hillar'y judgement and trustworthiness, shall we?

1) Voted FOR a needless war that has cost us thousands of innocent Iraqi and American lives- not to mention billions of dollars. (Bad judgement). Supporting a gas tax which makes absoluetely no sense in the long or short run.

2) Lied about Bosnia sniper fire, whitewater, Rose Law firm scandal, etc, etc.
Not to mention Bill's scandals and lies (but lets not go there).

Now Dennis, my fellow Dem, if you really did your research: you would be begging people to vote for Obama.

Vig   May 7th, 2008 12:39 pm ET

Keep going Hillary – see it to the finish line. What a role model! She really is Rocky and Obama isn't.

FEDUP   May 7th, 2008 12:39 pm ET

If the democrats ran the primary like the republicans, Hillary would be the nominee. That has to bother the superdelegates. In the general election there won't be any of the nonsense we have had in this primary. With their GOP candidate already decided they could vote in our primary and askew the votes. The DNC needs to fix their primary race to match the GOP. Why is the decision of state officials to hold an election on the day they choose, used to disenfranchise the voters of that state? Who decided Iowa Caucuses should always be first? Who decided caucuses should be held at all? Lets have a primary similar to the general and we might get a better idea of who should be the nominee.

Jackson   May 7th, 2008 12:38 pm ET

Time to stop bickering and let it run its course and unite.

Phantasia, los angeles   May 7th, 2008 12:34 pm ET

Too many lies from the Clinton. She lies now and will lie again in the future. Who can we put our trust in? Not another Bush nor McCain

Menny   May 7th, 2008 12:30 pm ET

I don't think either Hillary or the uncommitted Super delegated love their Party or their Country. They all are opportunists thinking only about themselves.

I use to support Hillary just because I thought she and her hsusband are good natured beings. After following the election closely they proved to me otherwise.

Jen-0-palooza   May 7th, 2008 12:30 pm ET

Hillary, just GO AWAY! The country has spoken!

Hillary   May 7th, 2008 12:29 pm ET

To my campaign mananger:
No one gets paid for anything until I get my $11 mil back.

The my foolish supporters:

Send me more money now. (I need to pay myself back before people wake up and stop giving me their hard earned money for a campaign I won't win)

To Bill:
What are you doing now?

Finally Decided   May 7th, 2008 12:28 pm ET

Dennis F, y
Yu sound angry. Calm down. Your decision should be to vote for the best candidate who will get us out of this economic slum. If that person is McSame, so be it. It is your vote and your conscience. If America drowns further you have yourself to blame. Anger breeds bad judgement and that is not helpful to the Democratic Party.

Bill Clinton   May 7th, 2008 12:28 pm ET

Convincing Hillary is not as easy as convincing Monica.
She won't drop out even if Obama get 2025 delegates

Concerned Bill

Another non-fan   May 7th, 2008 12:27 pm ET

It frustrates me that she begs all of us to give her campaign money, while she intends only to LOAN it to herself. She gets to run, put the party in jeopardy because she won't realize she isn't getting the popular vote, and still emerge with her money intact. That is crazy!

The Wall   May 7th, 2008 12:24 pm ET

Hillary,
The writing is on the wall. Save your money. Time to step aside.

I love how Hillary skipped numerous small states and went for the big fish — only to say "we want to hear the voice of small America" when she starts losing.

Moses, Ca.   May 7th, 2008 12:23 pm ET

Walt's right, Hillary will tell the people of WV she loves coal mines and she once visited one while she was in WV saving a baby while at the same time hugging a grandmother.

Why HRC will not quit?

First of all, she will quit if Campbell Brown stop trying to divide the Democrats in her broadcast.

Did you see what happen last night? Campbell Brown tried so many times to coner Dana B.

Campbell Brown is likely a HRC supporter because her husband is a Republic operative. She might be part of "Operation Chaos" deploy.

Tired of idolatry   May 7th, 2008 12:22 pm ET

LOL All of you fools upset that she loaned herself a few million – look to Obama – he outspent her every step and still he hasn't crushed her. I am starting to look forward to voting McCain

Pam   May 7th, 2008 12:21 pm ET

This all means McCain wins. The people behind the presidential candidates are the ones who run the country anyway- the candidate just fits the suit. People are so aggressive when it comes to booting Hillary and yet she is the only one between us and four more years of "Bushenomics". Crazy how that works out. Four years ago Obama was trotted out as the "look at what the Democrats can do" kid at the convention. Nobody ever heard of him and he has no idea what he's getting into.

It is time to heal the party. Hillary, you can't win. You just can't. So be graceful and do the best thing for your party and constituents.

This white woman voted for Obama. And I will do so in November.

Tired of idolatry   May 7th, 2008 12:14 pm ET

Stop talking about "splitting the party" – this party is a joke and has been since Dean disenfranchised Michigan and Florida. Neither candidate has split the party – it is the absurd comments from both sides that is the problem. This Dem will not vote for Obama – I will be voting McCain. (but notice I am not bad-mouthing your god…. just your stupidity)

Change4OurChildren   May 7th, 2008 12:13 pm ET

This 66 year old white woman thinks electing Obama is our only hope to turn this country around and to begin to regain the respect we have lost throughout the world.

Hillary supporters need time to heal and then those who truly love their country and care about issues like Roe v Wade will realize that a Democrat must be elected or this country we love will be doomed.

tojoi   May 7th, 2008 12:09 pm ET

Hillary, Hillary, c’mon now. Give up the ghost. Its over. Although I understand why you must continue to campaign. How else are you going to raise the money to pay yourself back. Afterall, $11.4 million is nothing to scoff at. And I know you and Bill wants yo’ money.

democratic party is sorry   May 7th, 2008 12:08 pm ET

Hillary you sounded the most presidential last night in your speech. The Democratic party has failed you but we support you. They want to AGAIN put their weakest link first. We see how good that did them in 2004.

its like they say History REPEATS itself and the DEM's don't seem to learn.

Dennis   May 7th, 2008 12:08 pm ET

Obama's V.P. nominee? Whoever it is they need be a female candidate who supports his view of change and can attract blue collar voters and white women. That would be a formidable ticket!

MelissainMN   May 7th, 2008 12:06 pm ET

CNN, why are you approving comments that are more divisive and reactionary before approving comments that are respectful of both candidates? I posted my initial comment just after 10 and you have already approved several that came after.

If she pushes this too far and continues to be destructive to the Fall election, I think there will be serious doubts about her even winning her next Senate race…..

Roy   May 7th, 2008 12:03 pm ET

I agree with all the comments about Hillary leaving. After her near lose in Indiana last night (she didn't nearly win, she nearly lost), and Obama's big win in NC where Bill was consistently campaigning for her (to no avail), she would be wise to just drop out and concede. It would make her look better in the long run. She needs to stop being a stubborn mule and get over it. You could tell she was finished by just looking at her daughter's face last night. It's over. Anything else is will just divide the Party and it's time for damage control.

Hillary won consecutively in Ohio, Texas, Pennsylvannia and Indiana while Hillary cut Obama's lead in North Carolina from 20% down to 14% only.

Good job Hillary. Wake up superdelegates!

will   May 7th, 2008 11:43 am ET

Staying in the race now is only a sign of selfishness. She knows she cannot win as she is far behind in delegates and will soon lose the lead in super-delegates. And who in the world would have $11m to lend her campaign? Surely an elitist. It's a pity half her racist supporters cannot look beyond Obama's color to take a stance for the Democratic Party's values. It is truly a sad day for America.

YES SHE CAN!!! Hillary will make a 100% effort to carry on and if at the end she is not successful, she will prove to America that they have made a grave error AGAIN!!

And then people like me will be lost to the Republican Party and will vote John McCain. We are the Moderate to Conservative segment of the Democratic Party that will and can never support Obama, not because of his RACE but because of lack of TRUST IN HIM, his lack of EXPERIENCE and his lack of GOOD JUDGMENT.

If Colin Powell was the nominee of either party then I would vote for him because I and many of us see him as a President ad Commander in Chief. I cannot vote for a person who has not demonstrated any real accomplishment in his professional life, period

For the good of the Democratic party, the Clintons have to bow out gracefully and endorse Sen. Obama. Even with FLA. & MI. she does not have a chance.

In any game, the experience players dominate the feild of play. Obama is considered to be inexperience whereas Hillary is considered experience. If she's the experience one then she ought to be rolling the ball in leading in every aspects. Instead the supposed inexperienced, the underdog–Obama is dominating in lead.
How can people say He is incapable of leadship or leading this country in the right direction. He as not loaned his campaign any money. no debt on record.

I hope they both really feal the pain of the American public who more and more can't stand them. I don want any more of the Clinton scandels in the White House. NO HILLBILLIES in the White House.

Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton ruined this country with Nafta and their scandals….Whitewater, Travelgate, Not releasing papers, Not releasing Income Taxes, Voting for a war, Not getting Bin Laden when he could, Monica Lewinsky, Paula Jones, Perjury, Jennifer Flowers, Chinese Influence on fund raising, Marc Rich pardon, disbarred Husband lawyer, strange suicides, etc…

Hillary has only herself to blame for her failing campaign. Too many lies, too much mud slinging, too much pandering to voters. Her surrogates, especially Bill, Lanny Davis and that clown Carville haven't exactly helped her either.
Obama's victories are well deserved and honestly earned. He will be a great President and bring a welcome reprieve from the Bush/Clinton years.

If you look at NM, she barely won, and there's a lot of whites and hispanics there. It's folks like you that are keeping this party divided over RACE. If Barack Obama had half the baggage Hillary has and is creating, he could not even RUN for POTUS."

You are so right!
The Black voters have given Obama less than 30% of the total number of votes he has received so far in this race. Blacks may be voting 900% to Obama but their numbers are small. The majority of Americans are voting for him overwhelmingly. Obama understands this that is why his message transcends RACE. Remember that the Clintons had the Black vote until Bill made racial remarks and is now crying victim.

You would have to either be dumb, stupid or ignorant if the only reason you voted for Mcaine because poor Hillary didnt get the nomination. I truly want to reach out to all Clinton supporters. As a DEMOCRAT first, and an Obama supporter second, this country truly needs a new direction in politics. Now, I know there will be those who will absolutely not vote for Obama, but then there are those who want a Democrat as the next President; like myself. Do what is right for the country, put aside all the hate that has built up over the past couple of months and think about your future, and that of your children/grandchildren. Remember, a vote for McCain is a vote for another 4 years of the HELL this country has faced under George W. Bush, and 4 more years our service men and women will be in Iraq with no exit strategy. Lastly, we are AMERICANS before anything else.

Why do we constantly refer to Obama as a Black man? He is equally Black as he is White. He was even raised by his White grandparents. Race should not be SUCH and issue because clearly, the race barrier was broken in his own DNA. He is truly united, an example of what America can be.
The more we mention race as a factor… race becomes a factor.

Since Bush won twice, I think McCain stands a real good chance to win in November. Obama stands a good chance of being the nominee, but not the President.

Even w/ Fla. and Mich. she is losing. You have to give Obama the "uncommited" vote in Mich.

NC has erased the small gains she made in Ohio and Penn. When she wins it's not by enough.

I say let everyone vote now. There is no reason to bow out. However both candidates should stay away from the dirt.

If she stays she needs to play nice for the good of the party.

Ben   May 7th, 2008 10:17 am ET

Obama has won. Welcome to reality. If you don't understand how primaries work (the winner usually decided well before now) then you'll keep falling for Clinton's ever changing goal posts. What's her next argument? – "Obama cannot win with left handed asians over 85 from the midwest, so I should get the nomination".

Ramz KY   May 7th, 2008 10:03 am ET

Truth wins out. Amazing how all the media is trying to make it seem like they believed this would happen, especially after their wall to wall Rev. Wright coverage. Even with the media's help and all the blatant pandering, Hillary's personal ambition was transparent to a large majority of the great state of NC. Indiana almost wasn't fooled. Wonder what depths she'll sink to this week in order to claim what she feels entitled to. The only reason that makes sense to me why she would stay in this is personal ambition, not the good of the party … or the good of the country.

Obama all the way!!!

JSterling   May 7th, 2008 10:03 am ET

For all of you out there who think Obama has won, ask yourself this. Does he have 2025? the answer is NO.

Some of you seem to think that Hilary is just trying to "stick it" to Obama. You miss the point. In this election, they are nealy evenly split right down the middle of the Democratic voters. If Obama was truely the winner, then he would have reached the 2025 number and be the one that "We the People" have chosen. That has not happened. If he reaches that number and is our who will run against McCain, then I will support him. But, I firmly believe that he still does not have the best path to win. And even 4 more years of a Republican White House is unacceptable

NIC   May 7th, 2008 10:03 am ET

She can still win, dont kid yourself people. It's dawnting, really steep climb to the sumit, but still possibe! Amazing how Barack had a great run, huge momentum BUT still behind in the ever so important Super Delegates. They will decide it, and it will be close.

Obama08 but...   May 7th, 2008 10:03 am ET

To Deb:

Do your research on Hillary please. Obama is not winning by a cult of blacks. 2/3 of N.C. voters were white my dear. If you look at NM, she barely won, and there's a lot of whites and hispanics there. It's folks like you that are keeping this party divided over RACE. If Barack Obama had half the baggage Hillary has and is creating, he could not even RUN for POTUS. As senator, Hillary has not made very many presidential decisions, but it's folks like you that hide behind the fact, you do not want a black man running the country. BY THE WAY, OBAMA IS HALF WHITE HALF BLACK. Racially, he represents most of us -if you want to base the leadership of the country on skin tone- which would be sad, but people still do it.

Last night on CNN, Wolf Blitzer was about to go into "cardio arrest". They were doing everthing they could to try to secure somekind of way to secure the Indiana Victory for Hillary. It was hilarious and disgusting at the same time. Lanny, lost his voice, Cupto, was there cancelling a spot that Hillary was to appear on TV the next moring. The Clinton camp was in disarray and the whole world was looking at this fiasco Hillary has been playing games all along in this campaign. She is not for real. I'm wondering now how does she feel now playing "Follow The Leader" with Senator Obama leading. Last night when Hillary was giving her talk, not speech, Bill Clinton's face was red as a "BEET". He looked so angry until he was scary to look at. Every now and then he would try to put on a happy face but the world could see that Hillary, Bill and Chelsey were not "happy campers. Good for them, they are the so called quote, "strong candidates". They do not care about this country. Bill proved that when in was in the White House. He was down the hall having sex "with that woman". Where was Hillary sleep at 3:00 a.m. while Bill was with "that woman". The Clintons are a joke to the whole world. If she wants to bring more humiliation upon her and her family, so be it.

One thing everyone on this post has to remember, HRC cannot win without OBAMA supporters and OBAMA cannot win without HRC supporters.

The Facts are that no matter how much we support our candidates, in the end, we need each other to win.

to Deb and Baby B, the people have spoken and they have chosen OBAMA. We do need each other, however, OBAMA is not resposible for the statements and attitudes of all of his supporters. Especially on a message board that he probably doesn't know exists.

Jewish Women for Obama   May 7th, 2008 9:59 am ET

She eked out Indiana by 1.8%, not even 2%! Now, if you take out the effect of the 7% republican vote that went overwhelmingly for her just to cause chaos, she would have lost…
Regardless, they will probably split the delegates evenly…

Why oh why is she doing this to herself? When this is done, she will have lost all of her dignity… not to mention destroying the former President's legacy…

At this rate, the value of his speeches will drop significantly, and she might not be able to recover her $11M loan to her campaign…

Worse, she might not even get re-elected to the senate if she keeps doing this to herself….

Someone needs to intervene… Al Gore, what in the world are you waiting for?

Jacki NC   May 7th, 2008 9:59 am ET

Hillary is now going to West Virginia, how nice. A few months ago she said that the small states did not matter and it was the large states like California that counted. Of course that was when Obama won so many small states. Her claims that she can win in November because of states like California is nonsense because Democrats always carry California anyway. All of a sudden the small states like West Virginia and Kentucky are very important. Hillary will not give up because her ego will not let her. Michigan and Florida votes should be equally divided if they count at all. Everyone including Hillary agreed to abide by the rules of the DNC, now she is behind and wants to break the rules. I wonder if she would want MI and FL to count if Obama was behind like she is. Somehow I believe that she would be fighting to keep those 2 states out of the race if she were leading. Obama won big here in NC last night and Hillary only won Indiana by only 22000 votes or so.

It's time for HRC to step down.

Bill Clinton has supported and endorsed many losing candidates over the years. Many of those candidates lost because they lacked Bill Clinton's natural charm and charisma. The voters have decided that they don't want Hillary. The Clintons should acknowledge that fact and graciously step aside and help to unify the party.

Why are people giving Obama a hard time because much of his support is from African-Americans? Many of the democratic victories in recent years (including Bill Clinton's two presidential wins) have been achieved because they have received about 90% of the African-American vote.

Maggie in SC   May 7th, 2008 9:55 am ET

Obama supporters PLEASE help me understand.

I must be an uneducated poor white folk or something…..

Sen. Obama has a white mom and a black dad and black step-dad, correct? Correct!

Sen. Obama STILL attends a "church" that preaches that the white man is to blame for all the problems of the black man. That they need to RISE up.

For 20 years Sen. Obama has listened to this type of "crap" and now we should "Unite" behind him? I have seen him SAY, he want to unite all, but actions speak louder than words, and the only actions I have seen is DIVIDED.

Please tell me what, where and how he is bring us back to the core of Unity? I don't see it.

Mike, Raleigh   May 7th, 2008 9:55 am ET

What I really would love to see right now is an announcement that Hillary will run as VP to John McCain. Bye Bye Obama and the democrat party!!!

DeeNC   May 7th, 2008 9:51 am ET

I just saw a post stating that black americans are voting for Barack Obama because he is black… So what. There are a lot of whte americans who are not voting for him and will not vote for him because he is black. Neither is right, but Obama could have won all of the states he has won solely on the black vote.

Clinton supporters let place the blame for this tight race where it belongs on her. She was the self proclaimed democratic nominee for " day one" in this election, Obama was not even in the conversation, his campaign put in the work and she got surprised and by the time she took him seriously it was too late. Now take an unbiased honest look at it and that is exactly what has happened. Give him credit, he is the true underdog here, not her.

OMG, she is Rocky!!!! She is getting her head punched off her shoulders and she doesn't have the good sense to stay down.

I think Bubba should play the role of "Mick" and tell her: "YOU CAN'T WIN, ROCK!"

The only bright spot for her is that in 2016 (Rocky 3), she will beat the Republican candidate. Provided that he looks like Mr. T and his campaign slogan is "I pity da fool," of course.

David King   May 7th, 2008 9:49 am ET

Well…NO SHE CAN'T!!!

All of her ridiculous arguments and antics are null and void! I don't even believe that she believes it anymore (as if she ever did). Now we learn she just loaned herself 6.4 million dollars. She surely won't raise any substantial money after last night. Well, unless she gets the oil companies to pay for it just like the gas tax. LOL!!!!

Let's get real; even when you throw in Florida and Michigan now, she no longer has the popular vote argument! There is 0% possibility for her to win the majority of states, popular vote, or delegates.

Bye, bye Sillary Clinton. Silly rabbit! Tricks are for Clintons. Now I guess they'll get back to getting millions of donations to the Clinton Museum from questionable Middle East donors.

Linda   May 7th, 2008 9:49 am ET

"Hillary proved once again that if we want the White House back we need to have her as the Nominee!"

1. How did she prove that? By getting blown out in NC or narrowingly win in IN? If shes such the politician and has all this experience and she SHOULD be the nominee..why isnt she? Why has she not ended this race?

"A cult following of Blacks won’t win the General Election!"

1. But a "cult" following of whites and hispanics will? Its so funny no one was talking so heavily about the "black vote" when they were voting for Clinton! I think WHITE PEOPLE are afraid that the BLACK PEOPLE are going to decide the nominee which is a CROCK.

"We are looking forward to years of Peace, Prosperity and a balanced budget!"

1. Balanced budget? She cant even raise money for her campaign or stay out of debt! You want peace? She said she would demolish Iran! How would peace come from that? How will we prosper by saving $20 on a gas tax holiday?

7 % of the people in indiana was part of the operation chaos

read this

In an e-mail entitled “The Limbaugh Effect in Indiana = 7 percent,” Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton wrote: “According to the latest exit polling data, 17 percent of voters in the Indiana primary today said they would vote for John McCain in a Clinton/McCain match-up. Forty-one percent of that number is constituted by people who voted Clinton in the primary but also indicated they will vote for McCain in the general election. That comes out to just under 7 percent of the primary electorate the number that may be attributed to a Limbaugh Effect

The United States has recently had a history of electing rather mediocre candidates. That is why Hillary Clinton can't and won't get the nomination. The mediocre trend will continue with either Obama or McCain. Intelligent and hard-working candidates need not apply. There is a dummy-down effect. Just drink a beer every night for the cameras and pretend to be a common every day Joe. The next president is going to confront major economic issues and chances are he will be the candidate of mediocracy. You can read my newspaper at http://www.primeterre.com,

You cannot be a true democrat if that is your attitude. A vote for John McCain is a vote for Bush. Come to your senses before it's too late.

It's amazing how ignorant some whites can be by thinking Obama only has African American voters–maybe in your small and racist world, you only see two colors black and white but the reality is he has transcended race in a way she can never transcend gender and his supporters are of may races, that's why he's win the general…Hillary, is no more than a female with an agenda and if she steals this, then I along with many other men will play the sex card and not vote for a lying feminist…….two sides to every coin….believe that!

Talk about the epitomy of SORE LOOSER!!! She has truly redefined that term. Party Divider.

Yvonne-Michigan   May 7th, 2008 9:28 am ET

I am extremely disturbed by the constant attempts Hillary has made to hijack this election – race baiting, slander and pandering to any group that will listen to her. Now she wants the Michigan delegates and our legislators are attempting to hand it to her on a silver platter. Initially, by moving the primary up without consent of the people and now attempting to re-write the rules mid-stream in an effort to hijack the nominee selection and hand it over to her in exchange for who knows what. Enough is enough, folks, Hilliary did not win here in Michigan, she ran uncontested, hardly a case for her to receive any benefits from that farce of a primary. Needless to say over 51% of voters here in Michigan voted uncommitted, that speaks volumes.

American Girl   May 7th, 2008 9:27 am ET

Democrats Unite, we know the Republicans are going use use Race, Rev. Wright and The party's primary fight to attack Obama, the Democratic Nominee.

We need to be ready as a party to say no to the Republican/conservative polarizing politics. Every chance we get as Democrats we need to knock the Republican Machine down by forcing them back on the REAL ISSUES:

1. Economy
2. War in Iraq
3. Health Care
4. US World Image
5. Education
6. Supreme Court Judges
7. Imigration

CNN = Clinton news network

Julie mn   May 7th, 2008 9:27 am ET

I think Hillary needs to leave the Democratic party. It has been taken over by blackmailers, thugs, anti-Americans!!

Give Obama the nod Howard Dean, your HATE for Hillary, overides the safety and security of the American people!! You have allowed this all to happen!

CNN- why do you support such hatred?
I know this will not be allowed, I no longer care.

Niel, NY   May 7th, 2008 9:27 am ET

Fred, you are wrong. As for experince as the key issue. George Bush had enough experience. He was the governor of Texas and managed numerous successful corporations/teams.
I am sure Clinton does not have that much experience.

Dems lets come together.

rj   May 7th, 2008 9:27 am ET

I was disappointed in the coverage last night. As commentators, it was abundtly clear the "Hillary" supporters were showing their anger and making up new number games, excuses, etc. Especially Lanny? Enough is enough. When is the democratic party going to say enough is enough? If you are truely a democratic, you should be trying to bring the party together not trying to divide it. This is a great example on how Hillary has run her campaign. People are seeing through it.

What Hillary might have ment was American people really do not act like our for fathers did. We are at war and what do we do? how many people are really voting on experence, values, and knowledge? I don't think many are. The black americans are voting for Obama because of the colar of his skin and for some reason they feel that with a black president this nation will be turned over to Black power!!!!!! like rev wright had preached. Wake up super delcates it will be up to you do you want to worry about your owen vote or can we just stay focused on the realy ISSUE (AMERICA) we need to dig out from the BUSH Damage. I don't know whay was worse Katrina or the Bush years. we have already had a 8 years of ignorance why give us Obama and or McCain for 4 years. When clinton was in office I lived good my doller went further. Today we can't get out of a doller what we use to pay 5 cents for. GO HILLLARY !!!!!!! GOD BLESS ALL AMERICANS!

The only thing over is the Democrats possibility of winning the White House in 2008.

Thanks, Obama… for nothing.

yes   May 7th, 2008 9:26 am ET

What is Obvious to me is that the party is divided and the Whole country from coast to coast to all the territories are half for Obama and half for Hillary… there is two fractions of the party and the country is telling Obama and Hillary loud and clear that we want them both in a joint ticket. How can it be clearer? Hillary is running for something and perhaps today is more clear to me is maybe VP. I hope I am not the only one seen this. Obama needs Hillary as much as she needs him and the whole country is counting on them. Let’s call, let’s unite!!!

Mac in Nova Scotia   May 7th, 2008 9:26 am ET

Hillary, please go away. The Clinton name, the predictions from her camp, the phony gas tax holiday and a lot of help from the media couldn't fool the voters so the only one being fooled is Clinton herself.
She doesn't care that she is hurting the Democratic party. She feels it that the presidency is her birthright and she can't understand that the majority of voters don't see this.

Greg   May 7th, 2008 9:26 am ET

As a Hillary supporter I recognize that Obama should get the nomination and that she needs to gracefully bow out. I'm highly suspicious of the supposed Hillary supporters who say they will vote for McCain. They are probably neocon radio listeners messing up the board. There are a lot of Obama supporters who need to chill out and be respectful of others opinions. Democrats need to unite to lead this country back from this lunatic administration that McCain would keep going.

Navy Vet.   May 7th, 2008 9:26 am ET

I stated in another posting it's not my place to call for Sen. Clinton to concede the race, and I really feel that way. I will say that it is now time for the superdelegates to make their intentions public regardless of who they support. I know there are some who are holding out until the convention, but I believe that is for selfish reasons and doesn't help the party as a whole. We've got to start thinking about what's best for the party as a whole, and not what's best for me as an individual.

This election is not going to be a cakewalk, but it is ours to lose depending on how long we remain devisive instead of decisive. Sen. McCain is a former military officer and trained on strategy and subversive warfare. You better believe he is thinking that "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" and will let us as a party rip each other to shreads in the coming weeks.

It's time for the superdelegates to start earning their titles by demonstrating party leadership instead of playing "wait and see" political games like President Bush is and Sen. McCain wants to with the economy and housing crisis right now.

Spirit of America   May 7th, 2008 9:26 am ET

Winners never quit, and quitters never win. That's why Hillary will win in West Virginia and beyond. Carry on, Madam President, you carry the hopes and dreams of a Democratic victory in November with you; something your competitor can never achieve.

Steven   May 7th, 2008 9:26 am ET

Why prolong this race? It is over. Senater Obama has now sealed his nomination by winning big in North Carolina and a virtual tie in Indiana. Also later this week John Edwards and Gore will come out to endorse Senater Obama. Now counting the many more super-delegates that will be throwing in there support this week or next. With all the pressure Hillary will have to give it up. She should get behind Senater Obama and start the healing of our party split, NOW! Time is critical if we are to re-claim the White House. The Louisville Courier Newpaper, Kentucky biggest paper just endorsed Senater Obama. There is no ground for her to make up in the rest of the States. Sorry Hillary supporters but it is over.

GO OBAMA,

Steven

Kentucky

Mary   May 7th, 2008 9:26 am ET

Hillary knows her chances of winning is that of a snowball in hell. Her main purpose now is to stop Senator Obama from becoming the President. She thinks she is the only one to defeat Senator McCain but she is wrong, If she wins the nomination, Senator McCain will become the Prersident.

Maggie in SC   May 7th, 2008 9:26 am ET

I am not sure how all you Obama supporters can say Sen. Clinton is splitting the Democratic Party. He is no saint. We know nothing about this man other than his voting record in the Senate, which consits mainly of "no shows" and "Present". He did not have a vote and was not in the Senate during the Iraq war voting. What experience does he really have? The crime in his State is scary, people dying all the time from gun shot wounds.

Sen. Obama is pushing me to the right, and I have been Dem. all the way, for years. I don't want another 4 years of Bush. None of us can afford it. As for Sen. Clinton saying she wants us to act like Americans again, like the almighty Rev. Wright's speeches, stop watching the sound bite and listen to her entire speech. You might learn how to be an American again.

If Obama gets the Nomination, Ralph Nader is looking pretty good…..

Go Barack   May 7th, 2008 9:25 am ET

david chu   May 7th, 2008 9:24 am ET

Exit polls show the majority of people who support clinton dont have a college degree. So therefore its not surprising that they cant see the writing on the wall or do the math to see that she cannot win. Count michigan, florida and Obama still has a lead.

piecrust   May 7th, 2008 9:24 am ET

Two years ago nobody knows this person Obama and now you want him as president of the U.S. – those who voted for him are simply idiots, uneducated or taking the risk like putting their bet on a slot machine. what a bunch of lunatics. In November, if the weather is bad I will sit out, otherwise, my vote goes for McCain. You voted for Obama to be the nominee the same way you voted for Bush for 8 years!!!!

Candace from Texas   May 7th, 2008 9:24 am ET

What happen to I win big states???? Now she wants small states? She is insane! She does not know what she wants. Just like a typical woman! This lady is really damaging this party. West Virginia I hope you are listening to us because only when it will help her appear more electable does she want to say lets win West Virginia because it favors her more. Obama has repeatedly stated that he see know difference in big state or small state. Obama is running a clean race and I hope people will see the deceit and games Clinton is running.

Hillary supporters are truly sad souls. It showed in the numbers last night that you all have so much hatred that because she will not be the nominee, you would vote for McCain or not vote at all. It's sad that we live in a worl that is so torn. Hillary gave a good fight, but she is not what the "majority" want. Don't be so cynical and destroy what will be something good.

Your comment is awaiting moderation.
It never ceases to amaze me how stories come out and gather steam because of one reason or another.

Case in point: Obama has been dragged through the mud because of what his ex pastor, Rev. Wright said, correct? This story has gathered such a full head of steam that it has actually been the deciding factor in some voters according to exit polls.

Why hasn't the fact that Hillary's ex pastor, Rev. William Procanick who has been CONVICTED OF CHILD MOLESTATION been brought to the forefront? Not only was he CONVICTED of first degree sexual abuse, for inappropriately touching a seven year old girl, he lied about it on the stand!

Hmm, I wonder why that wasn't plastered all over the front pages of main stream America, talked about on talk radio, and blasted all over the blogs like the 8 billion stories about Rev. Wright ?

I'll let you all decide that one!

Mike   May 7th, 2008 9:24 am ET

Everyone was speaking of race, it's amazing, I mentioned race in a previous post and everyone appeared outraged.

Now, that race was mentioned as a factor (in the exit polls), others seemed to "suddenly" have an opinion.

Yes, race IS a factor in this election; and NO, I still will not cast my vote for Obama, not due to racism, though simply because I find him to be a weak candidate.

I would vote for Colin Powell in a minute, without hesitation; Obama is simply NOT ready to run this country.

I simply can't understand how individuals state that race doesn't matter?

As a physician, I work in poor urban areas (via hospice work as a volunteer) and a lot of the blacks (good, friendly people) will tell me that "they are voting for Obama because they need to see a "brother" (their words not mine) in the White House.

I respect their decision, however if I try to engage them into a political conversation, they are speechless (only due to not being aware of the issues).

PLEASE, vote based on the issues, ask about the issues, read, watch television, though do NOT vote based on race.

I personally believe that Obama will be ready for the White House with a bit more experience, though not at the moment.

I hope that if elected, Obama surrounds himself with a strong, experienced cabinet.

jay   May 7th, 2008 9:24 am ET

I am so glad that Hillary won my home state of Indiana. The Northern half of this State has always been corupt and even when they tried to cook the books as all of us expected they could not win Indiana. Obama cheated with his Gary IN. cronies. Used our tax dollars to bus people to polling places. Sent in false absentee ballots. Not to mention He outspent Clinton 4 to 1 and he still did not win this state which is in his own back yard. Obama is Unelectable and now Clinton has the opprotunity to Prove it in Kentucky, West Virginia, Puerto Rico. I believe she will steadily eat away at Obama's lead now making it very close by the time it gets to the Convention. Hillary will win the Democratic Nomination…. Obama has no more states he can blatantly Cheat in….

Go Barack   May 7th, 2008 9:23 am ET

Obama will never win Fred? I beg to differ, the polls speak for themselves. You HillBilly supporters need to stick a fork in her cause she's done!

And… Give up the fight for the FL and MI delegates. Ain't gonna happen!

shelly in IL   May 7th, 2008 9:23 am ET

Just let the rest of the states vote, (they deserve to it), but Hillary needs to stop with the attacks on Obama.

And, this racially motivated fight that the news networks are trying to start, you need to put it to rest. Blacks have been overwhelmingly supporting white candidates for years and now "blacks support Senator O because he is black" (get off the BS). Everyone (even the news media) know's how qualified Senator O is and if you didn't know you need to pay better attention.

ForBetterWorld   May 7th, 2008 9:23 am ET

Sups !! Are they looking for their benefit depending on who wins the nomination ? Are they scared of revolt from nominee if they did not pick that candidate ? They should speak out of what their choice is.

Educated White Man for Obama   May 7th, 2008 9:22 am ET

People who say they are going to vote for McCain are once of the following:

1. Racist; or at the very least, afraid of voting for a man of mixed race
2. Feminists who are scorned that a man is winning
3. Throwing a tantrum like a toddler, digging their heels into the sand
4. Unable to see the big picture. We need a D in office this year, not another R.

Listen people…experience is not necessarily a good thing. Not when that experience is in Washington, which taints politicians. We need someone new with fresh ideas.

CNN=Hillary Clinton   May 7th, 2008 9:22 am ET

yeah, she is gonna keep lying, cheating, stealing, your $(donation), crying, and all the things she does,……

Wow, West Virginia and Kentucky, both back woods hillbilly states, are polling for Clinton by almost 40 points. A large amount of demographics from both states are white hillbillies. Why do they overwhelmingly support Hillary? Or maybe we should ask why are they sooooooo against Barack? It appears pretty obvious. Are these feminist states or is there another reason? I think I know.

All she is doing is trying to pick up money from her harem, hopefully she can at least pay off her debt and maybe get her 5 millions back. Maybe there will even be a few bucks left for campaigning for her senate seat….

Go Obama   May 7th, 2008 9:21 am ET

Whats the point? Is the point to win or divide? She cant win by delegates or popular vote unless she has a landslide for all the remaining to even take a bite out of Obamas lead.

So the fact she is going on is for what? The longer she stays in the more people are going to get angry… if she takes it to the convention… more people will be fired up and angry. If she gets superdelegates on her side and wins… many people will be angry that their vote got dismissed as the popular vote. It will totally divide the party. Its obvious Obama is going to win. She needs to cut her losses before McCain will be the Next President stemmed from resentment of the nomination fight that is obviously no point in fighting.

Its been over for awhile and we here, wait til after Penn.. well we all knew she would win that state being her home state that was dumb. It all depended on by how much she won by… and then the same with NC and Indiana… it all depended on if they switched to Clinton and if she won by a large margin.. which she didnt. Nothing helped her. The other states are not large enough to help her. Its over.. and someone needs to make it end now before we lose the presidential election.

Good luck running for any other political office in the future. We will be waiting to vote against you.

James   May 7th, 2008 9:17 am ET

Just business as usual. Whites vote for Hillary and that is racist. Howerver, over 9 out of 10 blacks vote for Obama and its just a demographic of the electorate exercising their right to choose?

Any way you cut it, its voting based on race. That is wrong.

lucy   May 7th, 2008 9:17 am ET

I admire and respect Clinton and have some reservations about Obama – but I am really alarmed that McCain is to old and too committed to war, and he himself says he doesn't understand the economy. He could be even worse than Bush. So it's time for Clinton to step down and both of them start campaigning for Obama. And she has been a terrific Senator and I hope will continue to serve in her admirable style for the next decade or two. That way, we get both of them.

ForBetterWorld   May 7th, 2008 9:17 am ET

She has to think hard herself of her chances to close the gap of 150 deligate count. You have to play by the rules. If she is sure of not getting nomination but want o hurt the party at the end, she should drop out now than taking chances and hurting the party.

Race is over ………. if she wants to continue .. we should let her .. no one should stop her …. but anyone with commonsense would know her efforts are futile + she is going bankrupt . yes i agree .. she would win W.V, Kentucky & Puerto Rico … but the overall winner would be Obama … she is going bankrupt for god's sake …..

The only argument she has now is let Fl & MI have their votes seated …..

good luck to her …..

I hope that the vote fraud that took place last night, in lake county IN is investigated! Add it to the investagations going on now in Texas, and God only knows where else! I also believe Obama should be brought up on charges of inciting riots, Blacks will burn down cities if he does not get the nomination! I hope Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi put a stop to this blackmail, FYI, NO, Hillary supporters will not come together for Obama, WE, unlike the Democratic party and the DNC , will vote for the LOVE of our country! THEY are the people of HATE.

Please tell Hillary to stop taking money from hard working blue collar voters for a failed campain and let them fill their gas tanks.

A multi-millionaire asking these people for money only to pay her debts.

She talks about how $70 dollars for a summer of gas tax relief will help them, then asks them to give it to her just does not seem right.

A.M.   May 7th, 2008 9:15 am ET

The effort now seems to be futile for 'Hillary'; nevertheless she has been an extra ordinary candidate, and it shows how split the democratic party is now between two best democratic candidates.

The performance by 'Obama' was just remakable; his speech the best I ever heard; he appeared very presidential. He is the candidate who will join the nation let alone democrats.

Brandy (Dallas)   May 7th, 2008 9:15 am ET

If I were West Virginia I would be pissed. HRC continues to show that she ONLY thinks you are important if she feels that your state will count during the primaries.

If she claims she is fighting to the end, why not try and at least make one stop in every state. How do you say "I want your vote" and you can't even come to my state and talk to me.

Now all of a sudden b/c she is grasping at straws and Tuesday's primaries was a "game changer" as she expected but yet in favor of Obama, West Virginia is important.

Pitiful

Godwin   May 7th, 2008 9:15 am ET

She needs to save the little change she has (if any) to pay her debts. I know she is a Clinton, and that they don't bow out without a fight. But she should be smart enough to know this is over. No magic can turn this around anymore, not even 5 more Rev. Wright episodes! The party's unity should not be compromised.

Tampa Votes Barack Obama   May 7th, 2008 9:11 am ET

It's over honey. At this point, if you win, it would officially be considered THEFT. No one would support that idea.

Kirk in New York   May 7th, 2008 9:11 am ET

This is becoming painful to watch.

Since when has "eek"ing by with a 2% lead in a vote considered a victory? …a game-changer?

The writing is on the wall. I have supported both candidates, I'm truly happy with either. They both bring qualified, albeit different, attributes to the White House. But this charade that CLinton is perpetuating is becoming ridiculous.

I admire the fervor of her supporters…but c'mon people…isn't this race to the nomination over now?!

Pelase superdelegates…I beg of you…SPEAK!!!!!!!!!!!!

yhoff76   May 7th, 2008 9:10 am ET

???? Why isn't CNN talking about Obama's big win and even tie in IN? Why isit all I see is this loser Clinton everywhere? I have really lost respect for CNN, She just LOST! and LOST BIG!! what dummy can't see that? and just like a loser she's talking about the next state trying to divert attention off the huge loss and trying to change the rules for Mi and Fl..haha, bow down.

seth   May 7th, 2008 9:10 am ET

The Family tired but cannot stop and think a little bit.

mike concerned democrate   May 7th, 2008 9:09 am ET

DEMOCRATES — STOP THIS NOW !!!!!
The only reason Hillary made Indiana close was the Rublican "Chaos" factors it's clear, yet no one wants to publically admit this….. it makes a mockery of the system and shows Rublicans are in control of the Democratic race. Wake Up make a decision NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alexis   May 7th, 2008 9:09 am ET

WHO CARES! ITS NOT GOING TO HELP HER!!!! SHE NEEDS TO DROP OUT, JUST DROP OUT!

Brian   May 7th, 2008 9:09 am ET

At this point it appears clear that Hillary is simply staying in the race to try to get back some of the money she has lost in "loans" to her campaign. After her last ditch gutter politics and pandering have not worked she just has to hang in long enough

atypical white person   May 7th, 2008 9:09 am ET

I think we need to give HRC some space to let in sink in that she will most likely not be the nominee. If we don't push her into a corner and try to force her out, it may provide her with the necessary opportunity to bow out gracefully.

So let's have all the Obama supporters step back for a minute and leave well enough alone.

We have to remember that how we respond has an impact on how HRC's supporters respond. We can either encourage divisiness or promote unity. Walk the talk.

Peace

Marc in DeKalb, IL   May 7th, 2008 9:08 am ET

At the current delegate levels and poll numbers, Clinton needs about 90% of the superdelegates remaining to win.

She has been losing the superdelegate race by a nearly 2 to 1 margin.

She shouldn't be adding *ANY* stops. She should be *CALLING IT STOPS*.

Get it, Clinton? It's *OVER* … stop dragging this out.

Kimberly in Texas   May 7th, 2008 9:08 am ET

Crazy is as crazy does. It's over go home already!

LT for Obama   May 7th, 2008 9:08 am ET

More spin? She is losing ground and she continues to push on with this. We need to start the healing and move toward taking back the White House before even more damage is done to this party.

Baby B   May 7th, 2008 9:08 am ET

I hope Obama and his fans took note of the exit polls. He will not win w/o Hillarys supporters and if the Obama cult is not nicer, its going to be harder to win us over. Obama fans can be so hateful and its people like you why I and many others would never vote for Obama.

Debbie   May 7th, 2008 9:07 am ET

Why is she still in the race. There is no way she can win by the numbers. Lanny keeps talking about polls. They will try anything to justify holding Obama back. Polls don't make votes. Everybody votes, everybody is not polled. They don't count. Why doesn't the DNC and Superdelegates just vote and put an end to this. If it were reversed, Obama would be out of the race by now. Actually if Obama had won Indiana there would be hysterics and recounts,

RON   May 7th, 2008 9:07 am ET
