what would you call the Primary victories in the northern states in the Midwest???? The majority of voters there are white, and he won many of those states handily. He will also win a good percentage of the white vote in November.
We will have a black president..may as well get used to the idea.

These people who cross over to vote for Clinton are only doing so because there is built-in animosity and vitriol against her for a large portion of the population. I'm convinced no Repubican has a chance of winning this year, and I believe Rush knows that too. He and the other repugnant haters like him simply want Clinton to win because it will make their jobs that much easier for the next four years. It's much easier to spew hate-filled lies on television and in books to legions of ignorant "ditto-heads" with a Clinton in the White House than it will be with a consensus builder like Obama.

Anyone who crosses party lines to vote a certain way because a disgruntled drug-addict radio host tells them to do so should lose their voting priviliges.

of course ditto heads have helped Clinton's cause...(which is all they have done, btw).

It's only a coincidence, and quite the coincidence, that Republican voters would skew similar to Democratic voters...usually these groups do vote differently.

Obama had been getting a sizeable majority of Republican crossover votes, and the result of the ditto head campaign has been to effectively cancel out that Obama advantage.

Clinton is running an entirely pro-feminist campaign that has to be laughing long into the night about these idiot men that are propelling her forward. If she ends up winning, you'll live long enough to regret it.

As a father who would like to see a country where father's get equal time and equal opportunities with their children ---completely anathema to Clinton's non-gender equity style of feminism (i.e. a she is simply a proponent of reverse sexism and nothing more)....I find it ridiculous to play these types of games.

The idea here is that this inflates Rushes ego when idiots do what he says, and if, as he hopes, Clinton wins, then his ratings go up the next 4 to 8 years. Don't believe for a moment that he wants McCain to Win.

Ann Coulter and Rush made it quite clear that they truly want Clinton to win, rather than McCain...that supposedly 1 or 2 terms of a democratic president is better than generations of shift they foresee happening after a successive Bush-McCain win.

They have stated these things many times.....but the ditto heads..are not very bright.

I doubt if Rush Limbaugh can take credit for Obama's votes. Many Republicans (along with fellow Democrats) have had ENOUGH of the Republican party and their fleecing of American citizens pockets. The Republican rule under George Bush have their hand in the highest oil prices in history, highest deficiet, raising food prices, worst party to so-call take care of the American dream of home ownership by allowing bankers to dry up those dreams with multitude of foreclosures and adjustable morgages, lowering of the American dollar, and the costliest war in terms of lives and money. American voters are simply saying we've had enough and something's must change and that change starts with Obama.

No Rush didn't have anything to do with it. Keep in mind the Republicans are hoping to get the white voters that Obama can't win. The sad thing is McCain might just be the next President because the TV news shows bought in a race issue. It didn't start without the News shows, Fox, CNN and MSNBC started it. But they started it to try to start of a fight, now they can watch a Republican be the President for the next 4 years

We keep seeing polling on how many of Hillary's supporters will vote for Obama, but we need polling on how many of Hillary's supporters will vote for Hillary.

When Rush Limbaugh is your most influential surrogate, you're in trouble.

Even though I hate the pill-popping Rush......I can see that his strategy somewhat worked. Funny....you can see that the Republican's plan all along was to vote for Hillary to prolong this fight.......HINT HINT.....Ann Coulter and Rush saying they would vote for Clinton instead of McCain......

Why not trying to ask blacks about why they are voting for Obama? Surely you will find that many more are not happy with Hillary's negative campaigning! Her wishy-washy atittude about Barack having or not having experience to lead the country (but he's good enough to be her V.P.) Her "I wouldn't be a member of HIS church" although she and Bill turned to Rev Wright in their hour of need during his impeachment. Her statement of whether or not Barack is or is not a Muslim ( or at least "as far as she knows").

If Barack does get the nomination and McCain wins, I am sure I will be able to point out the white racism that would be the cause of it.

Polls say that America is ready for a black President, but most of the mouths out of both the Hillary and McCain camps speak volumes to contradict that!!!

Now tell me who's racist????

Its funny how some Hillary supporters always like to cry about how the they have not projected her the winner in Indiana, but she herself will never admit when she has lost a state and will count it not important to the general election.

If Hillary wins the nomination we will loose the Presidency because we are playing the old get all the big states and forget the small states, when thats how the Republicans always win. Never forget the little states, because they are the pulse of America. Senator Obama and the Republican Party understand that no matter if the GOP is for BIG business.

Hillary if you are the nominee and you continue to discount some states, I will surely write-in Colin Powell for Commander in Chief

Senator Obama is not just geting the African American vote, which is only
about 12%. He is also getting the white and latino vote. African Americans have voted overwhelmingly for white candidates in the past.
It is time to stop this nonsense about race being a factor. People of
all races and common sense want CHANGE from the Bush, Clinton
monopoly on this country.

Do you realize that weeks ago she was making up a story about being attacked by snipers....and that she has taken every position?? and that her most recent gaff would cost us millions and thousands of jobs - and its nothing more than pandering for votes....come to think of it...why am I writing this...I'm 100% sure Clinton supporters are illiterate

We need to see what actually happens when Florida and Michigan enter the equation. If they were punished for holding their primaries too early, hold them now. They are still within their time limits to do so. Even Newt Gingrich has said that both states have elections in August. There is NO REASON that these two states cannot hold new primaries in August. It won't cost the taxpayers a thing and they will NOT have voted "early". So, they should just hold their primaries and let the voices of the people be heard and the votes of the voters be counted. If this happens, there is no one that can say the outcome was not the will of the voters! The DNC, Howard Dean, and the Rules Committee should be ashamed of how they have run this election! INEPTITUDE, in my opinion!

Marie,

The problem is that with your strategy you are hurting yourself, not the "democrats." We are the people and what they do affects us. So think about what your children, family, and neighbors deserve before choosing revenge tactics because that will only hurt everyday American people.

Hold on! in PA you couldn't vote in the democratic primary unless you were a registered democrat, and she won by double digets. This conspiracy theory is a just a way for CNN to take away from the accomplishments of Hillary.

People who vote for Obama are either 1) african americans and white people like Tom Hanks who are voting for 'symbolic' reasons (i.e. to get a black man in the white house to prove to the world and themselves that America isn't racist), 2) students who have not yet had to deal with the real world and are swept away with the "rock star" appeal of obama, but have no idea what the difference is between a vote for substance and a vote for rhetoric; and 3) white elitists who are not affected by the economy right now.

The people who are voting for Hillary are those who are fighting for real change, those who are being hit by this economic crisis. What change is a student fighting for? Honestly. What real change is a rich white man fighting for? What change is a person who votes on race alone fight for? The real change that America needs is being felt by those in rural areas. Listen to them.

And these are the first ones that will scream about patriotism? And yet they have no qualms (even boast about muddying an election)? It seems maybe the reason they think patriotism is so important is because of what they, themselves, are lacking. Including Rush Limbaugh and the other talk show hosts who encouraged this type of behavior. I would hope that some eyebrows would go up if any of them ever dare question anybodies patriotism or how American or un-American somebody else is. I would put them on the bottom of the list.

Clinton supporters should be thanking Limbaugh. If that idiot had not pushed his OC, then this race would have been over the day of the Texas/Penn primary. Fortunately for the superdelegates, they can see past the effects of Operation Chaos, and will start throwing thier support to Obama after tonights delegate landslide for Obama.

Oh yea its sad that alot of you Non-African Americans believe we are voting for Obama cause he is Black. Thats saying Women vote for Hillary cause she is a woman. Elderly vote for McCain cause he is old. Keep in mind that African Americans have voted for White men forever. I was for Hillary cause i did not Know who the Hell Obama was. After he started winning and the True Hillary came out keep in mind i was going for Hill cause she was a Clinton i thought it would be like Bill. She is no Bill so i turned my money and Support to Obama. Face it all you who slander and attack Obama are just racists and really believe that African Americans are weak. If Condi Rice or Colin Powel was running against John Edwards i would vote for John because they dont represent my views or my Party. AND I AM AFRICAN AMERICAN.

Could the press please dig into this more? While "operation chaos" may not be illegal and take away from any potential Clinton victory in Indiana, it certainly should take away from the momentum she would claim from such a victory. The public deserves to know if, and if so the extent to which, Clinton's republican voters were switching over to confound the democratic primary outcome rather than to make a principled decision.

Rush Limbaugh's strategy worked. His plan to create chaos in the Democratic party is working brilliantly. I personally know several right-wing, conservative voters in Indiana who voted for Clinton because of Limbaugh's words. Hillary, just drop out so our party can unite!

How electable is a candidate when a good percentage of their votes come from the opposing team?

Just sayin'

What is the percentage gap in Texas, Ohio, and Penn after you take away republicans who voted for Hillary or Barack? I want to see those numbers.

Of course it worked in those states, but it worked too late. Obama is already to far ahead for Hilliary to catch him. Limbaugh is good, (like any low down sneaky Republican.) And Hilliary supporters are to BITTER to acknowlege that she is losing fair and square. She ran her race and lost. It is time for the Democrates to unite behind out candidate, instead of allowing the dirty tricks of the Republicans tear the part apart so they can win the election. In the end that is their agenda. And it will be the people who can't see past Obama's race and recognize that he and Clinton are nearly identical on the issues, that hand the presidency over to McCain.

Check CNN's exit poll data. Only 86% of the people who voted for Clinton in Indiana say they would vote for her in November! In comparison, 95% of Obama voters report that they will vote for him in November. So yes, I'd say "operation chaos" has made a pretty substantial shift. The impact of operation chaos shown in the exit polls is more than twice the margin of victory in those same polls, so it's quite likely the single reason for flipping the result.

What a bunch of idiots!
As a white older male, with an education who follows politics closely, it is simply a fact that for the last 46 years, that without a 90% African American vote for the Democrats, not a single Democratic president would have been elected!
It is absolutely outrageous that anyone would accuse African Americans of being racist for overwhelmingly votig for a candidate (50% white) who is so emunently qualified, that they can actually relate to!
Look in the mirror if you twits want to see a racist...the reflection will be white!

If a large number of conservatives cross lines because they want Hillary to be the candidate, can you imagine how they'd turn out against her in November?

Conservatives won't support McCain - they will vote against Hillary.

Who cares! The democratic party is done. You have Obama who is hardcore extreme left liberal pushing socialist ideas, Hilary in the middle and McCain just left of the right conservatives. Obama represends the "McDonalds can I have it now" generation and our black brothers and sisters, while McCain has the rest once Hilary is defeated.

Mama coo - in answer to your question: "How does one determine that votes for Hillary are just because Rush told them to vote but votes for Obam are because he's so wonderful," I have a counter-question for you: How many of those Republicans voting for Hillary (slightly over 5% of the total vote in this primary) do you suppose plan to vote for her in the spring over McCain? It's true she certainly is a better candidate than McCain. But all the things that make her a better candidate are as true or more true for Barack, who shares almost identical politics with Hillary. If one is choosing between Clinton and Obama, inevitably it comes down to intangibles, and if one is a Republican walking away from the Republican party, Obama's intangibles are better.

Besides, have you HEARD of any Republican boasting of voting for Obama because he seems a weaker Democratic candidate? I haven't.

Look at who people will vote for if first Clinton is the Nominee, of her own supporters, you will find that 12% of people of the total number surveyed are going to vote for McCain regardless of if the person they voted for (Clinton) is the nominee or not. Obama had a similar group, but that number was 3.7%. So if Clinton wins by anything less than 8.3%, Obama would have been the winner had it just been people voting for the canidate they want in November. The number for Clinton was 6% in PN, and now 12% in both Indiana and North Carolina. Why doesn't anyone talk about that number.

How can you say that Obama had won as soon as the polls closed in North Carolina that you all said that he won. But you cannot say that for Hilary Clinton in Indiana, as soon as the polls closed.

Yes, just look at the exit polls! 14% think both Clinton and Obama are untrustworthy and 53+ % of then voted for Clinton. 11% were republicans and 53+% of them voted for Clinton.

Suppers put us out of our misery! Come out for Obama NOW!

If Obama wins the nomination, I'm voting for McCain. And I'm a swing state voter... Democrats are going to screw this one up... and they deserve it at this point. That man is as qualified as I am to run for president. Whatever.

So...what have you called Blacks in the past who have overwhelmingly supported White Democratic candidates? Oh, but the white blue collar workers are just worried about the economy and experience? Okay.

Blacks represent 12% of the population and there hasn't been 100% Black voter turnout, so OBVIOUSLY whites are voting for Obama as well. How about you get real and come to turns with your hypocrisy.
