Obama fundraises off Clinton loan

(CNN) - Barack Obama’s cash-rich campaign has spent so much this primary cycle, rival Hillary Clinton has been forced to loan her own campaign millions of dollars. Now the Obama team is using Clinton’s loan - in an effort to raise even more money.

“We need to show that the voices of more than 1.5 million ordinary people donating whatever they can afford are more powerful than one person giving more than $11 million to their own campaign,” said campaign manager David Plouffe, in an e-mail sent to supporters Wednesday.

“Now is the time add your voice to our historic movement. Make a donation of $25 to match Senator Clinton's loan.”

The Clinton campaign revealed this week that the New York senator had loaned her own campaign roughly $6 million in the weeks since Obama’s ‘bitter’ comment. Earlier in the primary season, she made a similar $5 million loan.

In the 24-hour period after Clinton’s Pennsylvania win, her campaign reported a staggering $10 million in donations. They have not released a figure for funds that have come in since the senator won Indiana Tuesday night.

In his Wednesday e-mail, Plouffe argued that Clinton’s “path to the nomination has grown extremely narrow,” and said, as her staffers had earlier in the day, that “these loans show that [Clinton’s] campaign will continue to contest the remaining primaries vigorously…..”

Seems like she’s struggling in this campaign the same way we’re fighting the Iraq war… throwing money into a conflict she’ll never win! So just like our government in this Iraq conflict… she needs to make concessions and get out!

She has blue color Americans supporting her that need every dime for their bills. He has the rich people with silver spoons in their mouths. If he did not have all his rich elitist donors he would not be were he is today??? He out spent her and still cant close the deal who is the real problem. I donated to Hillary and I will again as much as I can afford it might not be much but I will do all I can. PLEASE DONT STOP HILLARY WE NEED YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm donating to Barack Obama because I truly believe in him! There are not too many Hillary supporters that believe in her to that degree. I don't blame them. Their donations will only go to pay off the debt of a candidate who's pretty much lost already.

"Seat Florida and Michigan" you just keep blabbing your nonsense on every story. Clinging to the one argument you and other Clinton supporters can make. Too bad for you it's deeply flawed.

Obama wasn't on the ballot in Michigan and Clinton only managed 55%

Count the 44% uncommitted for Obama.

You cant twist the rules to help a certain candidate.

    Grow up.

Hillary has to stay in it until her campaign raises enough money to pay herself back and cover her debts.

Don't be naive. She needs the campaign contributions to break even.

Dah. Hillary is USING her supporters to buy her way out of a bind.

Memorial Day is in two weeks, she should be submitting her bill up on the hill right about now to get you your $30 for the summer. Maybe you can lend her a ten spot toward her debt.

    This is shameless...

As if $85 million from the government isn't enough.
He just wants these little googly-eyed hope-mongers to pony up for a candidate that will get whacked in the general election.

billary makes me laugh and she is dellusional, how interesting that she has not shown via records the exact numbers and papers..........as usual ..she lies

then why is she and bill not giving up the list of all funders (rich one i mean mega rich) of her so called foundation and library.......what is she hiding
and why is none asking about this????
once we know who gives her money , we wont even need to blogg, it will show she has deals with the enemy, she takes money not only from the mega corporations, OPEC and everyone she has critiziced, but she takes money from Osama's brother and family
this will come out , i hope Limbaugh brings it up soon....this will make her quit in two minutes..

I do have to admit...Hillary is more Republican than Democrat. And I'm not sure what purpose it was to interview Mitt Romney just to bash Obama. His remarks were apparent to everyone that Romney didn't know what he was talking about...as usual. Romney was a turnoff very early in the Republican race. If HE is McCain's VP, the Democrats will FOR SURE beat the Republicans!

Barack Obama has shown dignity, composure, intelligence, has more legislative experience than Hillary (state and federal levels), is open to listening to other ideas (not a Clinton my way or no way), has weathered the attacks yet maintained his "clean campaign" ideals, While Obama has fought his way to this point...he has done it respectfully, unlike Clinton who is there far by hook or crook.

I do not blame the folks in FL and MI, if they feel outraged for their votes NOT been counted. As always, people who break the rules (that is, typical psychopaths), end up being enraged!!! Is this not how we explain "abuse?" The individual who breaks the rules and is challanged ends up being so outraged that she/he strike out at the person who keeps the rules!! So, let FL and MI strike out; let them keep abusing the system; let them not vote in November–

Sen. Obama has attacked Sen. Clinton mercilessly throughout the campaign, especially in his speeches. He's been more careful to avoid it in his ads, so that it will appear that he's the more virtuous one. Anyway, given his record so far in this campaign, why should we expect him to treat this issue differently?

They call Obama an elitist and what is crazy about this asumption is that if he wanted to lend his campaign 5 million never the less 6.4 mil he'd be bankrupt....he is poorest of them all.
