Nice David. Particularly it is a right thing to do.
The fact that A BLACK MAN is becoming the PRESIDENT OF UNITED STATES is eating many people alive, especially guys like LIMBAUGH, LOU DOBBS, and O'REILLY.

JR   May 8th, 2008 12:45 pm ET

I agree with this side of the MS,
You people amaze me!!...No matter what you will find an excuse not to vote for Obama because of his skin color. Next it will be you heard he doesn't like vanilla ice cream. Just like the words of Jack Nicklaus "YOU IDIOTS CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH" that a black man might be your next president. Just like some of you idiots are bigots for not voting for Hillary because she is a woman.
SO if you truly want 4 more years of Recession than go vote for the "REPUBLICAN" but dont blame Hillary or Barack because you were too dumb to get past your bigot ways in friggin 2008!!

GO BARACK!! 08 its all about change and hate it or love it we all must learn to respect it!!

Observation

The day after Tuesday's primary, which ended in Indiana after 1:30 a.m., Obama took the next day off, but Clinton started work early in West Virgina. Obama having grown up in Hawaii, were life is laid back doesn't seem to have the energy that I want in my next president. Maybe being from Illinois were Senator Clinton was raised, I know that we have the work ethic, that even if you are up late at night, you get up in the morning and go to work.

I just don't think he will be able to handle the pressure and long hours.

Phil   May 8th, 2008 12:40 pm ET

Kathy in Ohio:

You go right ahead and vote for Mcsane, and when he take all of your choices away as a women, you'll have no rights or choices concerning your own body. Fool you better look a little deeper into McSane before you make a bigger fool of youself.

Michael   May 8th, 2008 12:37 pm ET

Cry me a river, everyone is upset about Clinton, everyone should be upset because none of them have a clue about how the rest of us live and the problems we have, they are millionaires. I will not vote for any of them, as far as I'm concerned dumb, dumber and dumbest need to go back to the Senate and stay there.

EC   May 8th, 2008 12:37 pm ET

GREAT NEWS!

EC   May 8th, 2008 12:36 pm ET

What a bunch of political moorons! These politicians must really think that all their DIRT and LIES aren't going to come back and bite them in their big ARSE!!!

GIVE ME A BREAK!! I'm sick of these political idiots playing "GOD" with our lives in the Senate and Congress and they are nothing but "bafooms" themselves.

What a JOKE!!

These speaks to our politicians getting away with BAD JUDGEMENT while in office. IT DOES AFFECT THEIR POSITION AND THE DECISIONS THE MAKE FOR THIS COUNTRY!!

YOU can choose to say what they do in private doesn't have anything to do with what they do in office. YOU MUST BE OUTTA YOUR MIND!!!! When "SEX" or anything relating to SEX, it DOES AFFECT EVERYTHING IN YOUR LIFE!!!!

Americans are stupid if they think it doesn't, SEX and everything that comes with it dictates everything a person does. It could make a person KILL, STEAL, GROVEL, LIE, CHEAT, BEG, HATE AND LOOSE THEIR MINDS on every level. Just watch the NEWS, people DO everything and anything when SEX is involved.

I think he should be removed from office. I think there should be a clear message and clear accountability when it comes to our politicians. THEY KNOW BETTER. It's the POWER, SEX AND GREED that is getting out of control!!!

realisticc   May 8th, 2008 12:30 pm ET

I hope all the uneducated voters that Hillary appeals to will go get an education when Barack takes office and then maybe I won't have to hear about them anymore.

Pam   May 8th, 2008 12:28 pm ET

Ok Clinton supporters...let's hear about how this means nothing!

Ann   May 8th, 2008 12:28 pm ET

It does not seem to matter who endorses who-the voters make up their own minds. What really puzzles me is why many Americans seem determined to elect the mediocre candidate. We are so easy to market to. Didn't we learn anything from the last eight years? Obama comes across as arrogant and inexperienced. He can't debate, there's no substance to his message, both he and his wife have displayed questionable patriotism, his swooning audiences can't tell you what he's about or what he stands for-scary. My husband and I are life long democrats but if Obama wins the nomination, we will be voting for John McCain-at least we know he's a loyal American.

DEMOCRATE NO MATTER WHAT   May 8th, 2008 12:27 pm ET

Why are so many people upset because Obama could be the next president of the USA? I am for one very happy that Obama has the chance to become the next president due to the fact that he respesents the American Heritage by having a white mother and an black father. That is what makes him qualify as being the next president of the United States of America. Also so I feel that other country will look at the USA as a country that is trying to change. That everyone can and will be treated equally by allowing a biracial man become president. I have no problem with Hillary at all. He she was to become the presidential nominee I would for her even though I support Obama due to I am a democrate no matter what. So for all of you that ride the fence and are not true democrates why vote democrate at all just vote independent, and don't call yourself a democrate.
ALSO WHAT MAKES HILLARY SO EXPERIENCE TO BE THE PRESIDENT. EXPERIENCE TO ME MEANS THAT YOU HAVE DONE THIS JOB BEFORE AND YOU HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF RUNNING THE COUNTRY AND IF SHE HAS THIS EXPERIENCE WHEN DID SHE HAVE IT WHEN BILL WAS IN OFFICE? IF SO THEN SHE HAS HAD HER 8 YEARS IN OFFICE SO LETS MOVE ON!!!

OBAMA 08/12

some of you people won't let go of the race issue huh
sad and pathetic
people should be judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
Next you'll be saying Obama is a member of the Black Panther movement
give it a rest

Charles Nilston   May 8th, 2008 12:24 pm ET

jo   May 8th, 2008 12:24 pm ET

kathy in ohio... it is very disappointing that with everything going on in the economy, you refuse took look beyond race and looks. I am a white female, but will vote for anyone other than another 4 yrs of bush. well you did say that you are uneducated, so I am not surprised you will feel this way. it takes an educated and unbiased mind to realise that this country has gone down the toilet and we need a fresh set of ideas to pull us out of this slump.
DON'T FORGET... THIS IS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND NOT THE UNITED STATES OF THE BUSH' AND THE CLINTONS.

Michelle Roundtree   May 8th, 2008 12:10 pm ET

It's about time everyone wakes up and realize that America has been over due for a change. Can we afford to keep having this bumbling idots run our country. Hillary can't seem to keep her lies straight and McCain is of the same voice as Bush. Too bad they don't send their kids out to war, how important would it be then to fight a senless war that should have never been. It's time for a change and the change is Obama.

Wayne, Greenville TX   May 8th, 2008 12:06 pm ET

kathy in ohio May 8th, 2008 8:36 am ET

anyone know of any websites to boycott obama I am a big hillary supporter, female, white, catholic, blue colar, uneducated, clinging to my guns and religion. Anyone else upset about the pressure for hillary to leave the race. I am one of those that will vote for McCain only to cancel an Obama vote. I think we need a website so the democratic party realizes how serious we are.

I hope YOU realize how ridiculous it sounds for people like you to say you'd rather vote for McCain than Barack Obama. Do you want the next Supreme Court Justice to be more conservative than Antonin Scalia, or stupider than Clarence Thomas? Do you want to see no more Roe v. Wade, and a continued erosion of our rights? Do you want 100 more years of our troops stuck in that quagmire called Iraq? Do you want to pay TEN bucks for a gallon of gas, and see ANWR permanently destroyed by oil spills?

There's much more at stake this time than bruised egos. I support Obama, but if Hillary gets the nomination, I will support her, just like I've supported every Democratic candidate – even when they were not my first choice. I suggest that for the sake of our country and our chldren's future that you do the same.

Linda   May 8th, 2008 12:05 pm ET

It is amazing to me that Senator Clinton's support would say that they would back McCain if she doesn't win the nomination. Um, does that mean you were not vote for her based on her policy and plans for the nation? Because if you were and she was not the nominee, common sense would say that you would give your vote to the next closest person with similar goals and that my friends is Senator Obama, not McCain.

To say that you would go with the Republican say that you do not value what Democrats are trying to do for the White House.

Please reevaluate your statements and what would be good for the future. I'm sure your candidate would want you to.

Ostriches burying our heads in the sand   May 8th, 2008 12:04 pm ET

Welcome aboard David Bonior! We appreciate your support....we will also welcome Edwards, the Clintons and their supporters when they decide to join us....We Dems need to unite....

Mike   May 8th, 2008 12:03 pm ET

To all those that say, they will switch parties if Obama wins to McCain or if if if if Hillary wins to McCain..Why and what are you trying to prove? Its time we start using our brains and not let our emotions get the best of us. To be honest in my humble opinion one has tried every and anything to destroy ones Image with nonesense and the other have taken the most positive and Unifiying approach in our History. How can anyone truely believe Obama has tried to seperate the party when the person behind him in every aspect ( except for super delagetes, which will change soon) has personally attacked him using people around him. Obama could have easily destroyed the clintons legacy if he was half as negative as she was, but what will that prove and how will that solve our problems. I believe she has hurt their legacy on her own and helped Obama a great deal using the Republican approach. All of the negatives she has thrown at him will most likely be old news to those with common sense and actually do research by November. None of the canidates are perfect nor will there ever be a perfect canidate period. Also, to those who keep calling Obama black and somehow using that against him please stop. His has a white and black grandmother, a white mother and a black father, black uncle and a white uncle, a black aunt and a white aunt, a white cousin and a black cousin, hopefully you catch on to my point. We need to come tother people our hardship, struggles, the war, the economy, Health care, education, the division and etc that is far more important than our personal feelings that need to be addressed. This is 2008 America 40 years after Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr movement and dream. Let us look past fear, gender, and race, because until we do that how can we change the way Washington has been ran for decades. Also, if Clinton and McCain are so concerned and truly care of how Washington have abused the Power we gave them than how come it took them this long or for Obama to point it out for them. Now they want to change it, now they are worried about the average person, now they want to reach out, now they want our voices to be heard, now you have to ask yourself is it because they want that power or because they care. Please don't make the same mistake we as a country made by allowing Bush to do as he pleases or Continuously decieve us by using fear and your emotion to distort reality. Now we have a chance and an opportunity to use research not media, to use our brains not our emotions/fear, to use common sense not be naive and etc. Are you ready to move forward in a new direction or go back to the same old Politics? Its up to you, more than ever you have the power to choose.

Peave N Love to all. I am also so happy that people all over the country are so involved regardless of there views.

FEAR WILL DEVIDE US AND TRUTH WILL ENLIGHTEN US

Jodie   May 8th, 2008 12:03 pm ET

I am really warming up to the idea of a joint ticket. I think Hillary and Obama are extreme opposites who could really compliment each other. Why does everyone think it would be a bad idea? I am a republican who is supporting Obama, but I am warming up to Hillary as a VP.

United We Stand   May 8th, 2008 12:00 pm ET

To Hillary Supporters:
I believe I speak for many people. There is no reason whatsoever that any of us would want Hillary to quit this race if she could focus on her own race. At this stage of the game, no matter who becomes the democratic nominee, we are too close to the general election to continue trashing one another within the same party. It is time for both democratic candidates to appear strong and united.

If Hillary can do that (which means: no negative talk at all about Obama) then, by all means, we would all support her continued campaigning.

SS   May 8th, 2008 11:59 am ET

vli   May 8th, 2008 11:57 am ET

OK that's scary....he was a flop for Edwards.

ps   May 8th, 2008 11:57 am ET

Who cares? Who endorsed whom? Any educated adult has his own analytical and thinking power. The candidate could be good for common working people, special interest groups, for old vetaran politicians w/o any major acomplishment for the nation and never volunteer to retire ( Kennedy, Leahy Dodd etc. etc.) and w/o any vision and mission for the betterment of the country. The candidate should be elected based on which group he or she wants to serv.

Unfortunately, american voters are not inteligent enough in judgement of their choice. Otherwise G. W. Bush would not have been our president even for one single day. They became robot voter under the influence of some evil personalities ( Chenny, baker, all preacher of the churches). We don't know what would be the outcome in general election in November. What we know is that money making young adult and African american are definitely thoughtless people who never wants to think the before and after effect of their act. They don't know what to expect from the candidate. The reason is that one group is snob for their success and the other group is ignorant about the life.

With all these in mind, I would suggest that the Senator Hillary Clinton should annoce that she is bowing out from democratic primary process and going to the general election in November as an independate candidate. The all old guard life time politicians of democratic party may receive an appropiate lesson for their dirty politics. Why? Macain as republican, Obama as democrat and Hillary as independent, you can well imagine who will entered in the White House in January 2009

Thomas   May 8th, 2008 11:56 am ET

Say bye bye to a womans right to chose. But go ahead vote for four more years the richest people in the country paying the least amount in taxes.....godd luck with that.

Mark   May 8th, 2008 11:56 am ET

There is nothing wrong with saving yourself if you try and help people off a sinking ship and they refuse to go. John Edwards is scared to go against the wife, so we obviously know who would have ran our country if he was elected President.

It's time for us Democrats to put aside our differences and rally behind our nominee, I would support Hillary if the tides were turned and she was leading.

Antonia   May 8th, 2008 11:50 am ET

GM from MN   May 8th, 2008 11:48 am ET

I find it sad so many Clinton supporters will hold her losing the nomination against their own party. They rather vote against their own beliefs out of frustration and anger. They rather vote against the things that Hillary stands for, than vote for Obama who does as well. I bet your children would be proud.

indepedent thinker   May 8th, 2008 11:48 am ET

To respond to some of the comments by clinton's supporters who chose to vote for mccain, you are not hurting obama, infact with or without your vote,he has become famous and worth millions as of now, your ignorant to flush your vote to another bush's policy will only hurt our great nation thats already hurting, put more of our men and women in iraq, and you are not far away from reaping the consequences of your hate vote.

Pqulya   May 8th, 2008 11:47 am ET

It's time to stop all the hater-ation and get behind our inevitable nominee (Barak O'bama). Don't let fear and hatred blind you from the gift that God has sent us to help America once again be revered and not feared by the rest of the World.

I don't know if anyone has noticed, but many of our so called allies no longer respect or support us; hell, we can't even get them to commit to anything anymore. Every Nation on this earth is waiting to see who we put into office before re-engaging. If we miss, they stayed pissed.

Simply put, "we need Barak Obama!"

Venus   May 8th, 2008 11:47 am ET

YES!

This is a BIG FISH!

Go Obama!

Hillary – hang in there! We know this race is over – but you should continue on and attack Mc Cain and get as many voters as you can!

Come on Hillary and Obama supporters – it's time to start healing!

Sure Hillary supporters lover her and wanted her to win and Obama supporters wants him to win!

But don't forget!!! We are in the same party and on the same team and it's time for Obama to get some rest and Hillary to heal!

Our party has to start pulling together and once we see Obama and Hillary on the same stage next month we will march forward!

Obama supporters – now is the time to stop bashing Hillary and her supporters – if they want to vote for Mc Cain – so be it but as Hillary continues let's start rooting for her because believe it or not – we are going to need the Clintons and their supporters and donors!

Let's stop bashing each other and turn our attention to Mc Cain and his party!

Brad   May 8th, 2008 11:47 am ET

The bottom line is, this campaign running long has NOT hurt the democratic party in November.

longer campaign = more newly registered voters = more votes in November

Loyd in California   May 8th, 2008 11:47 am ET

Seems to me Mr. Obama was right. "You people" in rurual America really do hate people not like you. Funny thing is, Hillary Clinton is no more like you than Obama other than she's white. I guess a white woman beats a black man any day of the week. At least that's what we Republican's believe. Come on over and vote with us. There's plenty of room. We'll continue the war in Iraq as we rightly should and if Iran keeps popping off at the mouth they'll get it next! We take them out one by one if we've got to.

Go America!

Pat   May 8th, 2008 11:47 am ET

To all you strong "Democrats" who will only support Hillary Clinton, or only Barack Obama, shame on you! Evidently you don't care what happens to this country, if you are willing to vote for John McCain,or not vote at all. We need Democrats in the White House, the Senate, and the House of Representatives. I wanted Hillary Clinton to be my candidate, but she isn't. That certainly doesn't mean I won't vote for her, if she gets the nomination. I don't want another eight years of George Bush type government, and if you care about anyone but yourself you shouldn't either. We need to come together in support of whomever the Democratic candidate is.

bonalyonga   May 8th, 2008 11:46 am ET

Your people should keep your difference apart and vote for who ever is the nominee. For we don't want to get another George W. Bush for three years. It seems like Obama will be the nominee, that is okay, Clinton herself have acknowledge that he is a fine man.
For all of us Clinton supporters obama is and alternative not George Bush II.

B ESS   May 8th, 2008 11:44 am ET

The NERVE of Hillary, inferring that people that have voted for either Obama or McCain are not hard working?

She's been SPINNING so long, I think shes DIZZY.

Wake Up People   May 8th, 2008 11:44 am ET

I understand that each of us feel strongly for our canidate Obama or Hillary. All these comments going around back and forth negative towards whoever your choice is not is exactly what the Republicans want us to do to ensure thier candidate wins do you all even realize that. They want those for Obama to be mad if Hillary wins or those for Hillary to be mad if Obama wins and NOT vote for the other person. Some of you are saying if your choice does not win you will vote for John McCain do you realize what you are saying that is totally crazy or not vote at all well not voting at all is A VOTE for John McCain which includes, more mothers and fathers and families losing their loved ones, the same poor, uneducated, blue collar workers, female voters still not being heard, or helped. It is time for all Americans to stand for something for once or you will fall for anything. Regardless of who the nominee is we should all be big enough to still VOTE because our vote is the only way we will change what is going on in America. Also, the media is not helping any of this, you speak about us being divided well I guess so when one minute you bad mouth or report negative stuff on Obama and the next minute it is Hillary how is that helping the problems wrong with this country all it does is confuse more people who don't understand the importance of thier vote.

JesseinNewYork   May 8th, 2008 11:44 am ET

I agree with the 'California Voter.' Let every vote count! However, if you're going to say that Obama played the race card by talking about how he worked on the south side of Chicago as a community organizer, you can't ignore the fact that Hillary has played the gender card time and again. Also, anybody who voted for Hillary and says they would rather vote for McCain than Obama in the general election is not a Democrat. Period. I support Obama 100% but would support Hillary if she was the nominee despite her divide and conquer tactics. The stakes are too high.

JEWEL - FLORIDA   May 8th, 2008 11:43 am ET

I was very SAD that our votes would not count in FLORIDA. If I had voted for Hillary, I would have been ashamed and kicking myself ROYALLY! Thank God I did not! TO THINK – of the LIES and MANIPULATIONS OF TRUTH, the KITCHEN SINKS AND PANDERING, the ATTACKS and SHOTS UNDER THE BELTS, to say nothing of the closed meetings in which I am sure a good bit of ARM TWISTING of SUPERDELEGATES has gone on. Perhaps even with 3 am calls. .....yikes! This is definitely the biggest mistake I could have made. I must FORGIVE myself and HILLARY, maybe when she STOPS. .... Right, SHE IS STILL AT IT. Thank you reader for your "ear". NOW, LET's PRAY for the rest that seem to be as misled and DANGEROUS as I was! ONE SUGGESTION: Hillary could go run for GOVERNOR of NEW YORK, heard that there is need there and Bill would be in FAMILIAR COMPANY.

Susie MO   May 8th, 2008 11:43 am ET

Its time for america to unite. Racism will no longer divide this country. I am 100 % sure if OBAMA was a white man he would have gotten the support over Hillary. Those of you who are saying that you will vote for Mccain if Obama win are just plain and simple racist. This is a great
oppurtunity to heal this country from past wounds. The people in america has decided that Obama is thier candidate.

Charles Nilston   May 8th, 2008 11:41 am ET

Supporters should know that this is politics and it should be taking too personal.Whoever that becomes the nominee should be voted for,the idea of switching party to throw your votes to John Mccain doesnt sound logical. This means that you dont think before you take actions or say things. This is just a family battle and shouldnt be taking out of contest.Everyone understands how commited and movitated supporters are to their candidates, but if you want the best for the party then such divisive talks which gives the republican party an edge shouldnt be heard.

Opinion Aplenty   May 8th, 2008 11:41 am ET

I find it quite interesting that the people who support Senator Clinton will support Senator McCain if Clinton was not the Democratic nominee. Frankly, I also thought that both of them were quite the same (albeit from different policial party). They are both career politicians and both extremely determined to make their life-long dream of becoming the President of the United States. Senator Obama is the only person who came from ordinary background. He knows the concern of the ordinary folks. He wants to become president so that he can make a difference. We finally have someone who's not a career politician and who finally, FINALLY will put American people first! It won't be politics as usual in Washington D.C. When you vote in November, vote with a clear head, not emotion.

Zion   May 8th, 2008 11:40 am ET

You know what, go on and vote for McCain you "BITTER" Hillary supporters. Why? Obama will receive something that you will not receive under McCain, a tax cut because he's rich and economic relief. I don't understand why white voters refuse to vote their interests.

Toni from Germany   May 8th, 2008 11:40 am ET

CONFRONTATION OF PERSONAL FEELINGS :-(

I don't get it !!!

Democrats have a wondefull opurtuniti to choose between two of the best persons for president, their land has to offer. The GOP doesn't give their members that choise, cause they have only McCain.

And what are you making of it?

A "kindergarten" war.

UUUAAAA, if not Clinton, then McCain !
UUUAAAA, if not Obama, then McCain !

Is every democrat gone mad?

Why would you vote for someone who doesn't stand for your values?
Why would you vote for someone who wonn't change the politics of the past years.

You can only do so if you wat to vote for Bush. And in that case you've learnd nothing from the last years.

Don't look at your candidate's gender or colour, look at their VISION.

Look at your own vision for your country and your vote will be the right one.

James Webster   May 8th, 2008 11:39 am ET

As a white male 53 I'm ready for change. It would seem many here think Hillary is the better candidate because she has more experience. Well her experience put us in the war, where she should have stood up as Joe Wilson attempted to steer a different course. She seems to stick with the loudest voice and not what is right.

She brags of a medical plan as if we have one. Well we don’t and her years as first lady and Senator ship has not changed the fact that America still has no medical health plan to date. She has managed her campaign to bankruptcy much like our nation.

I like Obama because he is an outsider not old Washington. He is for change. I want my two sons out of this mad mans war. These old party elites are all getting rich from our patriots. These patriots can not leave the military and come home to lousy medical. If Obama could pull everyone out tomorrow it could not be soon enough.

Those who advocate WMD, keep the battle there want your tax dollar. Get real people there is a big ocean, they have no military. Let the local countries resolve the problem. Cut and run is a flag waivers recourse to scare or humiliate because you don’t see there sons or daughters there. I want change. Obama has about as much experience as John F Kennedy did in office lets hope he doesn’t suffer the same end.

DAVE   May 8th, 2008 11:37 am ET

I am for Hillary but it seem that she is a long way from the nomination.it is going to sting little bit but when all dusts settle down i might vote for Obama.Either Obama or stay home but never republican.

dan   May 8th, 2008 11:37 am ET

I do not know why there has been so much division in the democratic party. Clinton supporter are not doing anything good but division.. Regardless who wins the nominee. Obama or Hilary. I believe democrat should union and see a democrat president get to the white house. Not division..United the party stand, divided it fall.. So this message goes out to democrats supporters(Obama or Hilary) Unity is the key. Not divison... Think twice before its too late, because if another republican get there. They did not work for it but the division of democrat worked for them.

Democrat   May 8th, 2008 11:35 am ET

I have a question for those Hillary supporters who are saying they will vote for McCain, if Obama is the nominee.
Shouldn’t you be voting on the bases of their proposed polices and their vision for the country?
If you compare the policies and visions of Hillary to Obama, everyone has agreed they are very similar but very different from that of McCain.
So I don’t understand why you would want McCain to win the general election. If you believed in Hillary’s vision then wouldn’t Obama be the logical choice for you?

Please make me understand, why you would want to vote for McCane.

Dem   May 8th, 2008 11:35 am ET

TO all Hilary supporters who will not vote for Obama.

Please vote for McSame. Obama's extraordinary performance with young voters, independents and Republicans will propel him to the White House.

OBAMA 08

Sasha   May 8th, 2008 11:34 am ET

Kathy in Ohio,

You are obviously less concerned about this country and more concerned about who wins. Do you understand that McCain will continue Bush policies (tax cuts for the rich, no healthcare, etc...). Give me a break! Hilary had her chance and her ego got in the way......... she did not plan on Obama; therefore she ran a poor campaign. A vote for McSame is a vote for 4 more years for BUSH!

nate   May 8th, 2008 11:34 am ET

I certainly would have voted for Hillary tho Im not a fan. Those that vote Mccain to "cancel an Obama vote" (kathy in ohio) are either sore losers, racists, or both.

WorldObserver   May 8th, 2008 11:34 am ET

If America politics is about following the winning team in the race, then the world is fortunate enough not to learn things from America.

All these super-delegates shall act on their own bravery and senses, not waiting to lean on team who is about to win.

Anyway, if they think like that, they are going to split the party. After all, their decisions may perceive as Clinton team does not belong to Democrat.

Again, I emphasise that you will see the genuine leader when he/she is down and still hopeful and re-focus to win or solve something. You all have seen other parts of her life for many years. What else has Obama got to prove to this world? Your eyes must see beyond America when you pick the President!

When the nation is lack of vision, it will perish in the end.
That may say, you will eventually fight with Republican again for the next term.

Romulus, Michigan   May 8th, 2008 11:33 am ET

Kathy in Ohio,

Did you leave out one description of yourself? If you believe in women rights for choice and a better tomorrow for your grandchildren to have a chance to become anything other than how you described yourself you really do not wan to vote for Senator McCain.

Joseph-Texas   May 8th, 2008 11:33 am ET

AMERICA LET'S BE SMART....the democrats must stay united!

If you vote republican, you are voting for a 3rd BUSH TERM! Our country cannot afford this! Please but your hard-feelings aside and let's do the right thing! GET A DEMOCRAT IN THE OVAL OFFICE!

BillieJean in Idaho   May 8th, 2008 11:33 am ET

To Kathy in Ohio:

I think you need to grow up, you sound like a high schooler trying to get even with somebody.

Obama isn't the one putting pressure on Clinton to leave the race. Her friends and co-workers are. She is broke, the money is no longer coming in, the numbers aren't there, give the rest of us a break.

Remember this is a democratic contest in which invidividuals vote for whom they want. Obama has no control over that anymore than Clinton does. In case you have forgotten we live in a society where we are given a free choice, just because someone doesn't agree with yours is no reason to be childish.

Sounds to me like you have some serious issues with adulthood.

This coming from a 55 year old, white, blue collar but well educated female who is bitter and wants a change and my religiion/faith is what keeps me going.

Gregory Simpson   May 8th, 2008 11:31 am ET

It is interesting to hear the Clinton supporters. Look Clinton lost me on the whole crying thing when she pulled that mess I knew then it was a wrap. When women lose they produce tears but it didn't work this is the country we are talking about not the choice of wall paper. It is time to unite bring it together for the big win. The Clintons, The Bushes are the entire reason why this country is in the mess its in now. The baby boomers have had their time at bat and they struck out its our time now. The Clintons should realize this and leave the stage. Her campain has been a mirror of the war scape of Iraq. If done properly she could have have won but continuos blunders ran it into the ground. Those people who would vote for Mc Cain a person who is a bush clone in idealogy shame on you. You would throw the country away for Hillary, just because she lost ,you would hand the country back into the hands of mad men. If you feel that strongly about the Clintons maybe you shouldn't vote at all because you maybe alittle mentally unstable.

Independent   May 8th, 2008 11:31 am ET

To all those HIllary supporters who say they won't vot for Obama--

Think long and hard, especially women voters who care about the right to choose.

John McCain announced this week that he will appoint conservative judges to the Supreme Court if elected president.

It's not difficult to read between the lines: DO YOU WANT TO SEE ROE V. WADE OVERTURNED? Then go ahead and vote for McCain.

Cindy   May 8th, 2008 11:30 am ET

This is great news. Edwards definitely aligns himself more with Obama than Hillary. and most of his supporters and staff now support Obama. We now have our nominee and it is time for all good Democrats who care about this country to come together and unite behind Barack Obama. YES WE CAN!

Becky in Indiana   May 8th, 2008 11:30 am ET

I know several Clinton supporters that are smart enough to realize we as Democrats need to come together for the general election. Support who you want now but realize that this race is not just about 1 person. This race is about Americans. I want Obama to win but I'm smart enough to know that I want a Democrat in the Oval office no matter Clinton or Obama.

Edwards wants to endorse Obama, lakini his wife likes Clinton's Healthcare proposal better. Well, after Tuesday I don't think Clinton's proposal should matter much and it's time he came out and endorsed the man. Now that his campaign manager has declared, I bet he will follow suit. I can understand an Obama supporter vowing to never vote for Clinton or a Clinton supporter vowing never to support Obama. The most revealing thing, however, are the democrats who say they will vote for John McCain instead of the opposing democratic candidate. I hold steadfast to my conclusion that a large portion of the electorate are immature in the political sense and over emotional. There is not much difference in policy between Hillary and Obama and both of those candidates say how disasterous a McCain presidency will be to the economic situation of the country. But because the immature nature of the populous to get caught in the "CULT OF PERSOMALITY" windfall (repubs also) we have an overly emotional childlike reaction that could result in people voting against what they believe is good for the country or even their own families. I'm sorry but that seems to be the case from where I stand.

Blake   May 8th, 2008 11:28 am ET

John Edwards will most likely not endorse unless the Clinton Campaign goes negative enough to cause deep worry with Super Delegates since she can't really win now (by that point you would see Supers flock to Obama). The Party is trying to let her off easy and settle her supporters down by allowing her to bow out gracefully when she feels like it. Only one Superdelelgate has asked her to drop out and that was McGovern (Clinton endorser up until yesterday and long time friend).

You probably won't see Obama, his surrogates (whom he never seems to use but should now), or his campaign say she needs to drop out. It only causes more tensions and the fact is, they don't need to say it. They will be arguing their common sense case to Supers which goes farther than Clinton's very risky and somewhat irrational arguements.

Tony Z- MD   May 8th, 2008 11:28 am ET

Poor Hillary has gone from a historical figure to a hysterical figure. Its like she is just wondering around the country begging for money saying “Its not over yet, hey, hey, its not over yet. Give me money, give me money”. And the bad thing is nobody will tell her.

Praetorian, Fort Myers   May 8th, 2008 11:27 am ET

I think regardless of party–citizens must vote their own conscience once in the voting booth.
I personally think there should be a minimum skills test for President. If the potential doesn't have any military service or executive supervisory experience...they should immediately be disqualified.

Daryl   May 8th, 2008 11:27 am ET

Reading these negative comments from the Clintonite bloggers saying they won't vote for Obama and they will vote for Mccain tells me we have a serious problem. If you would rather vote for 4 more years of the same policies, then America is truly finished.

United States That Matter   May 8th, 2008 11:27 am ET

Since Hillary Clinton and supporters keep making this argument that she won the states that matter, how about we let her be president of those states and Obama can take the other states that are TWICE as many as hers.

Last time I checked, it was United States of America, not United States That Matter.

steve ga   May 8th, 2008 11:26 am ET

If Clinton was smart she would be Obamas running mate an they can make history as the first African American President an woman vice president that would unite the party an also ensure that Clinton supporters vote for Obama plus they'll make a good team. If she keeps being stubborn then Obama will chose John Edwards as his running mate as you can see Edwards people are making a push for vice president, an to all you'll democrats switching out on Obama just because Clintons not the nominee I think it's hatred, the African American turnout will be bigger than ever for an African American man I'm a black man thats never voted, I just registered last week Im excited an think it's my duty to honor my ancestors [MARTIN LUTHER KING JR]young people are for Obama it's going to override all traitors where all excited in the African American community I've pushed all my friends who are eligible to vote but havnt to register you will see in November it's inevitable!!!!!!!! GOD BLESS OBAMA AN AMERICA

Andrea KC   May 8th, 2008 11:26 am ET

How can one claim to have a better chance of winning the general election when she can't even when her own party's nomination. Get real. If you were such a great candidate that everyone wanted to vote for you would have won more states, more delegates, and more of the popular vote. If you can't even get enough backing from your own base what kind of chance do you have against McCain.

LT   May 8th, 2008 11:26 am ET

The only person to STEAL a Nomination (not the election) would be the person who doesn't hav ethe most deleagte from the PEOPLE and not the POLITICIANS. Also, what ever happened to playing by the rules? Didn't the DNC have rules? Why should some candidates comply and others not and them want to trhrow out the rules?

And as others have pointed out, if you are truly democrat, you will vote for the parties candidate.

By voting Mc Cain, your are creating your own "Operation Kaos" and handing the White House and 4 more years of war and economic mess that started when "W" stole the election in 2000.

There are 2 alternatives for Hillary to attain her White House dream:
1. Drop out of the race, and run as an Independent, A 'Spoiler' like Ralph Nader.
2. Join her Republican friend McCain on the VP Ticket, since Obama will never offer her such.

Best wishes to Obama!

For all those Democrats that feel the need to vote for McCain if Hillary wins the nomination. GO RIGHT AHEAD!!!! Do you think you're hurting Obama by doing this? Come on, people. If those Democrats want 4 more years of Bush's policy, go ahead and vote for McCain. If Obama lose, he'll go back to the senate and he'll be alright. However, will you be ok with a failing economy, a continue war in Iraq, health care unresolve, conservative justices, etc... Those democrats that feel the need to support McCain are only hurting themselves. Obama is trying to bring a change in American politics.

Ashley in FL   May 8th, 2008 11:21 am ET

Any of you guys saying that you will vote for the Republican nominee if your candidate doesn't get the nomination are only hurting yourself. Why don't you think of the greater good. You are going to regret your vote when the economy goes further down the toilet, and more troops die in Iraq. All because of your selfish pride. Suck it up people. Just bite the bullet and vote for whoever is the nominee.

Trey in Illinois   May 8th, 2008 11:21 am ET

All these people that will vote for McCain if Hillary doesn't win should be ashamed of themselves. To vote for a person that would keep this country on the the same path it's currently on is not a smart decision. Granted people have a right to choose who they vote for, but to vote for a Republican and more of the same over a Democrat that wants to change this country for the better is something I don't comprehend.

If you are an independent who voted Clinton or a Republican who went for Clinton then your decsion is respectable. If you are hurt because she lost , get over it! I supported Clinton, The policy differences between Obama and Clinton are meager at best, that's why its easy for me to support the Democratic Nominee. If you voting against a black man or upset because a woman lost , stay your whinny butts at home your vote does nothing to help this country. I personally would like to see them both on the Dems ticket in the fall. Republicans are scared as hell, they have no legs to stand on, and MCcain is just plain pitiful.

Another get for the Obama camp. Time to give up, Hillary.

Personally, I cannot believe the folks in the Obama camp are treating Clinton with such kid gloves when it comes to Florida and Michigan. They could end that argument with one swing of the bat. All they would have to say is, why are you so concerned about disenfranchising Michigan and Florida, when you are, in essence, asking the superdelegates to disenfranchise the 25 or so states that voted for Barrack Obama. And why did you all of the sudden become concerned about disenfranchising the folks in Michigan and Florida in late February, rather than early January.

End of argument. End of story.

Sen. Obama is the Democratic nominee. That is settled. Although she continues her quest, Sen. Clinton cannot have the nomination. I read a post below that someone feels Sen. Obama is "stealing" the nomination ... what? ... "stealing" the nomination, huh? With more delegates, more states, more popular vote ... I don't understand how Sen. Obama is stealing the nomination. He's earned it. That kind of divisive talk is exactly what has landed Sen. Clinton on the boat she's in now. What many of her supporters don't seem to understand is that Obama has tapped into a desire for this country to change. Sen. Clinton is out of the picture on this issue. All she brings is more of the same political lines that disturb much of the country and the Democratic Party. I'd be supporting Sen. Clinton if she represented change in Washington and politics – the simple fact is that she doesn't, and her campaign consistently proves this. Her campaign wasn't right for the mood of the Democratic Party, and again ... the fact that Obama has won ... do you hear me? ... WON ... not stolen ... WON more delegates, more states, and more votes means he's earned the nomination. That's how elections work people. If Sen. Clinton had done the same she'd be the nominee. But she didn't, so she won't. It's as simple as that. If you want to play by different rules, go join the Republican Party.

Suzette in SD   May 8th, 2008 11:09 am ET

Kathy you need to look at your house, check book, family and your current way of life period. Please think how much longer will your current situation be stabile. Because if McCain keeps the current policies in place this country will be absolutely destroyed. Our dollar is at an all time low we are in a recession gas prices are through the roof, people are losing homes which will only devalue everyone else’s homes resulting in major hard times for 70% of Americans. If you want to be responsible for all of the above then vote for McCain.

Hope you come to your senses and push the D botton in Nov!

Former Michigan Congressman Bonier served in Congress for 26 years. He should be able to help Obama by campaigning for him in Michigan. However, there may be a backlash vote if Democrats do not allow Michigan's votes and delegates to be counted in this primary campaign. Michigan which went to John Kerry in 2004 might not be a sure thing in 2008.

victor   May 8th, 2008 11:07 am ET

I really do enjoy the fussy math theories put out by the Clinton backers. It reminds me of some Enron accounting. Obama has the popular vote, he has the pledged delegates. The party has brought out more people to vote then ever before. Get behind the winner and put them in the white house. Stop the small minded thinking, it helps no one

Take it to the convention. Jenny from Kansas "we all are real americans" and that is why "we all have a choice" to choose whom we want as president...which is not necessarily Senator Obama...it is called "democracy" it doesn't means "democratic party".

Tammy   May 8th, 2008 11:06 am ET

Many of the bloggers failed to realize that Hillary and Bill Clinton are who they are today because of the Democratic party as well as the voters. The voters do not owe them or anyone a thing. People are blaming Obama for dividing the Democratic party because he chose to run for President. Hillary Clinton should have to work for the nomination just like the others.
No person should be given anything just because of who they are and how many people recognize their name. The ultimate loyalty for this election should be to your country. You owe your country that much.

Victor Manzini   May 8th, 2008 11:06 am ET

I am appalled with the Hillary supporters saying, if she does not enter office, we are going to choose McCain because of the way the Obama supporters are, or how people are telling Clinton to step down because mathematically it is impossible for her to win. Don't get me wrong, you play the numbers right and she can win but the odds are almost impossible. I don't know what is wrong with Americans. They want to vote for one candidate and will not choose the other one based upon the people that are voting for them or what reporters and analyst say about their candidate of choice. How idiotic is that? How much of that does not make sense? You choose a candidate for who you believe is going to serve this country the way it was suppose to. If you decided to not vote for someone based upon their supporters, you are just being a sore loser. It is time Americans started wising up and really choosing candidates based on what they believe rather than what or who or what someone says about the person they want. This is the reason why the country the way it is. We chose Bush for a second term over Kerry because we were feared of what Kerry might do so we decided to choose the one we knew. Look where it got us. Fellow Americans. do not make the same mistake for a third time...

AJ - North Carolina   May 8th, 2008 11:06 am ET

Mark   May 8th, 2008 11:06 am ET

At this point in the process, Senator Clinton's continuing her campaign is at best a symbolic gesture. I would be in favor of her continuing except for the fact that her efforts strengthen John McCain and weaken Senator Obama who will be the Democratic nominee.

If Senator Clinton truly believes that our next president must be a Democrat, she should endorse Senator Obama at the earliest possible moment. To do otherwise - in a race she cannot now win - is petty, self-indulgent and disloyal to the principles she professes.

Ed from Milwaukee   May 8th, 2008 11:06 am ET

I think its really funny that Hillary voters are so mad at Obama for running a good campain, because when he started he was the under dog( Stop Hating). Why is it that Hillary never complained before the race started that Michigan and Flordia should be seated?? She even said in October that those states violated rules and they would be stripped of their delegates. How in the hell is that Obama's fault??? All of sudden because she underestimated Obama and his supporters, she's claming their being desinfranchsied and its Un-American. Just ridiculous, he should just give her the delegates anyway even if he took his name off the ballot and even if he didn’t campagin in those states, so she can shut the hell up and stop crying, because after Oregon he will take back the popular vote anyway so it is over Hillary supporters. Its time you jump on the winning team. Mc Cain is the worse thing for this country!!!!

Believeitornot   May 8th, 2008 11:05 am ET

That's right Kathy in Ohio sell yourself short, seems that's the story of your life. NOTHING! Appears your low self esteem has you identify yourself worth by labels "female, white, catholic, blue colar, uneducated, clinging to my guns and religion." And I guess that "black guy - N_____!) just won't do.

The saddest mentality - I'd rather destroy hope than put aside my predjudice upbring - is clear here. HC is an excellent woman one we all should be proud of. But to rally up a "lynch mob" because you have issues is deep seeded hate. I'll pray for you.

Barack Obama won North Carolina. It would have been great if John and Elizabeth Edwards had joined Barack and Michelle on the stage when spoke. What is he waiting on? I thought he was going to endorse the one that won his state. YES WE CAN ALL BE UNITED. OBAMA 08 – 12

Chris, Middletown, CT   May 8th, 2008 11:05 am ET

Hmmmm....another one – the super delegates need to endorse today – I mean....right now...Hillary pandering on the gas tax (which is not a good idea....and is really supported by nobody) – her lying on her experience....sniper fire...support and non-support for illegal aliens..and "distorting" of Obamas record (fyi – "distorting" is a nice way of saying "filthy liar")

Karen, TN   May 8th, 2008 11:05 am ET

Carol, I think what Rush has done is despicable, low down and dirty. However, we do have a right to protest in the streets as long as it is non-violent. So I don't think he belongs in jail for that. Instigating and perpetrating voter fraud – now that's a reason to put him in jail. But he is relevant to a large group of people. Make no mistake about it.

Woman Voter   May 8th, 2008 11:04 am ET

Why is everyone so worried about alienating the black vote, but not middle aged women?

For all of you politicians who have spent the last 6 months Hillary bashing remember one thing. WE VOTE! Not just when we have a woman running, but in every election. And we are a very large voting block. After this election when many black and college students will lose interest in politics WE WILL STILL BE VOTING!!

So beware all of you who will be up for re-election. We vote and we remember!

Forrest Gump   May 8th, 2008 11:03 am ET

Hillary supporters still don't get it!

In order to get the Presidency, you have to win your parties nomination!

If Hillary was not in LAST place, the media spotlight would be on her like it was earlier on in the race. That is why she CRIED and ask the media to be nice to her.

The Republicans are afraid and upset because they had been preparing for Hillary but out of nowhere this black dude name Obama is going to become their worst nightmare!

If Hillary supporters are looking for a website, try hillaryclintonDOTcom. I hear she needs money to pay off her debts from her poorly managed campaign.

If Hillary had been focussed on campaigning and winning every state instead of just focusing on the big states, she would not be complaining and crying right now.

If Hillary was not ready on day one of the primaries, then she was not ready to be President. As simple as that.

Brian   May 8th, 2008 11:03 am ET

I find it funny how people who know little about politics and policy tend to hit message boards with ignorant comments. For those of you who wish to cast a vote in November against Barack Obama because of race, undying love for CLinton and an other reason must aske yourself just a few questions.

- Are you willing to Continue the war in Iraq beacuse regardles of your anger that is what you will be doing.

- Are you willing turn continue the Economic path we're on. In particular to a Gentleman who has stood before millions and said " I don't know much about the economy"

- Are you willing to tell Millions of American Woman they no longer have the rights of Abortion. You should learn more about the Supreme Court and how 3 or 4 judges will be replaced in the next 4 years thus overturning Roe vs. Wade. That should be a great debate.

Shall I go on. Learn about the policy differences between McCain and Obama before you make ignorant comments or place an ignorant vote.

Obama supporters are way more willing to vote for Hillary if he does not win. Here again you are all acting the way Hillary is. No respect for your party!!!!!!!!

anon   May 8th, 2008 11:01 am ET

I am so confused here. Can someone please explain to me how Obama "STOLE" this primary election. There seems to be a lot of Clinton supporters making this statement.

To imply that he "stole" the election would me the people that voted for him had nothing to do with him leading in delegates, leading in states won, leading in popular vote, and soon to be leading in superdelegates, even as Clinton is "STEALING" Michigan and Florida.

She ran a terrible campaign, she was overconfident and underestimated her opponent, lied and joked about it, had her husband and campaign manager FOR something she supposedly was against, laughed at the American people when asked about the $800,000, to which she has a JOINT account with Bill Clinton, so essentially, that's her money too, and keeps attempting to change the rules to favor herself to win the primary.

Obama on the other hand, granted he had the Wright issues, that really wasn't an issue, was accused of being muslim, extremist, elitist, racist, and un-American. Has been attacked from the front by McCain, clipped from the left by Bill Clinton, smacked from the right by Chelsea Clinton, bombs dropped on him by the media, watching Hillary behind him with the knife in his back, and yet he is called weak. He has run a better campaign with more integrity, more focus, more support, and more backing. Did I miss something? What has Obama stolen?

kevin from colorado   May 8th, 2008 11:00 am ET

Hillary Clinton got on the Today show and started saying how her voters were the "hard working Americans."

What as if to say that people that have voted for either Obama or McCain are not hard working? Even when she's trying to be nice she's insulting.

I work 70 hours a week and you can bet my vote didn't go to her.

TO KATHY IN OHIO: if such a website exists for hillary supporters who don't like obama because he's telling the truth (you just don't want to admit it) then there should be one for those obama supporters who don't like clinton. It's just so funny to me a person can speak the truth about what's going on, and it describes who you are as a person, but u get offended by it. it's the truth about u, why would u be offended by it. we still live in a supposed united states of america and it still practices the same prejudices that civil rights activists were trying to destroy years ago. what's funny to me is that you'll vote republican if hillary isn't the nominee and she and barack share similar ideas. so for what reason would u vote for mccain when barack shares similar ideas to hillary? it's race! Kathy in Ohio, u should vote for mccain if he represents who you are as a person. according to ur party affiliation he doesn't represent u. he only represents u if hillary's not the candidate, and it'll be because he's white right? that's what i thought

How sad for the democratic party to select a person who will lose in November. Obama is a black version of Dukakis. So, if we who are more central democrats, those who are more to the right added to those who are racist, the Independents who can't even decide which side of the fence to be on, then throw in the Republicians who will vote for McCain, how can Obama win? The Black vote will not carry Obama in the General Election. The Young voters will probable not even vote in the General. That leaves McCain as the next President of the US…This in a year that should have been ours for the taking. Hillary did not divide this party Obama did. Obamas' the urgency of now, is what caused this divide. He will throw anybody under the bus to be President! Anyone who doesn't believe this, is indeed an Idiot!

The fact is that the very reasons and policies that makes you head over heels for her, MCCAIN IS COMPLETELY ON THE OPPOSITE SPECTRUM. A vote for McCain will truly be the downfall of America as we know it. News in the US, as well as the effects across the world, gets worse everday due to the failed policies of the current administration. MCCAIN'S IDEAS ARE IDENTICAL TO THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION'S BUT WITH DIFFERENT PHRASING. Seriously, think about what you are saying. Obama wants to see a brighter tomorrow and that will not happen if John McCain get's elected. Just something to think about.

How can we be the moral standard for the world when we are unwilling to elect "any" American to power. That's why the world doesn't take us seriously. People who are willing to vote for McCain instead of whomever the democratic nominee is not a patriotic American. They are putting misguided emotions ahead of whats best for America and nobody can argue that any Dem will be better than the Republicans this time around.

Show your Patriotism for beyond you're emotions, vote for what's best for America.

To all interested in this presidential campaign: we must – all of us – look at the statistics, that is to say: what WE the VOTERS have chosen. So far, Barack Obama has the lead in the popular vote and in pledged delegates and in states won. It appears he will catch up in superdelegates perhaps as early as this weekend. There are two questions: 1) as a Democrat, will you follow the will of the VOTERS and get behind Obama?; 2) as an American, can you handle more of the same, ie McCain?

Unfortunately, for Clinton supporters (and I was one in late 2007), the end is near, if not now. We cannot let McCain in the White House. We DO NOT want him and his flash temper to be the one picking up the phone at 3 am. We do not want him to essentially carry out the FAILED policies of BUSH. We need to find a practical and humanitarian EXIT from a war we should NEVER have waged in Iraq. This country is not going in the right direction. We desperately need CHANGE but also UNITY – for all of us.

Bill Stapp   May 8th, 2008 10:46 am ET

I commend David Bonior for making his choice after careful reflection. He obviously felt it was time for him to step forward.

I also commend John Edwards for his patience in making any endorsement of any candidate.

Those of us in the cheap seats yell into the contest as if we were sitting in an arena watching a sporting event. The decisions to be made often have more significance than the fickle bits of attention we often give.

Nicole in NE   May 8th, 2008 10:45 am ET

#1. How many times do we have to bring up this "If not Hillary/Obama, then McCain" issue? I cannot believe how CHILDISH people are being.

DO you people even care about what has happened under BUSH? If you say "yes", then voting for McCain will probably take our country further and further down the same road! Hmmmm – yes, let's continue this war in Iraq that most of us do not support! Yes – let's continue making richest people in this country richer while the rest of us suffer! Yes, let's not do ANYTHING about our dependecy to foreign oil and the environment. Yes, let's ignore all these IMPOVERISHED CHILDREN in our own country that need our help with education and healthcare!

THIS IS AT THE HEART OF WHAT DEMOCRATS BELIEVE NEEDS TO CHANGE!

For us to forget that, is just so sad!

Please people, either side can say they are going to hold this election hostage, but guess what? All we hurt is ourselves and our futures.

Anita   May 8th, 2008 10:45 am ET

I hope this helps those who think that African Americans are deciding this election. By the way, how does CNN know how people vote in terms of race. I NEVER saw a voting machine that asked my race, income or age. I guess you are using exit polls or complex calculations to guesstimate which different demographic groups are voting. You say upper income, educated whites are voting for Obama. Do the new voting machines ask all that information. Gee?! We need these machines to figure out which demographic group is using all the gas that OPEC claims is driving up the gas prices. If Americans can create voting equipment to document race, age, income, etc, I guess we can do the same with the gas pumps.

Michael Houston TX   May 8th, 2008 10:43 am ET

Those of you who are threatening to vote for McCain if HRC was not the nominee, it is a pity that you are fooling yourselves by claiming that Obama is not capable. What make HRC more capable, is it the ability to throw kitchen sink, ability to manipulate ("gas tax"=pandering), inability to balance campaign budget, disregards/disrepect for rules and regulations she agreed upon before it no longer suited her purpose, or what? If you hate Obama because he is different, just be honest and say it and do not hide behind words. In that case there is nothing he can do or I can say that will change you. If you can live with your consience hating someone that never did anything to warrant it, Good Luck! We are humanbeings and God is alive and you will live to see it!

Elke   May 8th, 2008 10:41 am ET

Thank you, very wise choice. Any andorsement is welcome!
Did anybody ever take into consideration the republican primary turnout? It was indeed a very meek showing. At least Obama was able to inspire young people and African Americans, who are usually disinterested in the voting process, to turn out in huge quantities to support this party, and more specifically Obama. The new voter generation doesn't even remember Vietnam and McCains heroism. These days are long gone. All they have left is Mr. Bush's legacy and Mr. McCains continuation of the same old same old (if he wants it or not)
Just look at the campaign Obama is running and his fund raising ability, which is an indication to how he will run the country: organized and profitable. Not like Mrs. Clinton: bankrupting her campaign and not paying off campaign debts. Very scary!!!
Think and analize before commenting in such a hateful manner. Mrs. Clinton tried her best, but it wasn't good enough.
The Democratic party and Mr. Obama will win big time in November!!!
By the way Mr. FEDUP I am actually not an idiot, but a 62 year old white woman, who is looking forward to get things done in Washington without all this squabbling and bullying.

Just a thought   May 8th, 2008 10:41 am ET

Rush claimed his 'operation chaos' was to divide the democrats but it really had two other goals. First, to mask the very real Republcan defections going on and second, to get Hillary as a the nominee. You see Rush has seen the writing on the wall and he knows any democratic will beat Mccain in Nov. He is, however, basically a racist so he would rather have his hated Hillary win in Nov than a black man. Also, he is hoping that enough American share his latent racism to vote for a 3rd Bush term rather than have a black man in the White House. Unfortunately for Rush, Bush has so messed things up that even the latent racism Rush thrives on won't be enough this time. Thank you GWB

Time for real democrats and truth loving Americans to unite and end the same old politics and vote for CHANGE!!

Kevin Jamison   May 8th, 2008 10:41 am ET

Voice of Reason   May 8th, 2008 10:39 am ET

I wish HRC supporters would get real. Obama is the reason for the excitement in this election. Clearly it isn't the Clintons who are getting all these new voters aligned and working in the Democratic Party. Regardless of the outcome, everyone should give Obama credit for really making this election about the people. The Republicans will have a hard time pulling a random issue out the blue this time (like gay marriage or religion). I am an Obama supporter, but more than anything, I would like to see an HONEST, DIGNIFIED person elected as President of the great country. I think Obama and McCain most represent those qualities. I have never affiliated myself with a Party because they both have good points and bad points. The reality is that we do not know what the next President will face. Regardless of the party affiliation, we need a genuine person that won't betray the trust of the American people. HRC has taken the low road several times during this campaign and hasn't shown the character of what this country needs right now. She would have been okay 10 years ago, but given the conditions in 2008, she's just not the one. I've always like McCain, but Obama has truly revolutionized the political process. He deserves more respect than he's getting. I think things will take a more positive turn once she's out the picture.

Who am I: Female, Black, 28, Oil-Company Employee (so what???), good income (80K+), single-mother, native of NC, College Educated....which party should I be in???? There are more and more people like me that don't relate to either Reps or Dems...what we do relate to is INTEGRITY and DIGNITY! And we're the ones that will get out there and convince others to make things happen.

Independent   May 8th, 2008 10:38 am ET

If Clinton's supporters still do not realize that the life of her campaign is at the mercy of Republicans and their large number of cross-over votes (just look at Ohio, Texas and Indiana), I do not know what they can understand anyway. If it is Clinton's choice to serve as Limbaugh's gun, I am speechless. Yet, her supporters still calim Obama cannt win. Do you really think that Clinton can win? Or are you dreaming?

I am truely disappointed in all of the Female Hillary Supporters who are posting THESE NEGATIVE responses. I really think that the time has come to heal folks. The democratic Party has supported womens causes since day one as well as those of the worker and minorities in the USA. Please do not be such sore losers.....believe me............the Republican Party will bring nothing to the table for any of us...paticuliarly single women. Obama has the ability to find all of us and bring our needs to Congress for legislation. The division in this party has been based on many false hopes that Sen Clinton has imposed on you folks. Please ..the time has come to join as a family not sore losers or feminists. I to have a say NOT JUST YOU HILLARY GIRLS.

C from the D   May 8th, 2008 10:38 am ET

Seriously why are Clinton supporters so childish when it comes to this election? This primary is to field the best democratic canidate and after its all said and done, regardless of your personal opinion, the majority of the party will have voted for Obama. If you want to vote for McCain out of spite, then vote for him, and make your own situation and party worse. If you're an uneducated white factory worker do you want a canidate that wants to give tax breaks to the wealthy and ships your job overseas. Really think about that. I'm sick and tired of reading posts on here where people say that they will vote McCain when Obama is the nominee. You're foolish and prideful if that is your stance. Your canidate had a fair shot and lost but your party, with your support can and will win the general election. Obama wants to work for you, get past your own biasness and let him.

Obama should keep moving and will win the nomination and the general election because most americans know he is ready for change. More superdelates and well respected people are still coming his way shortly.
For people that doesn't and won't vote for him, I am sorry to tell you that your vote have no impact on his winning and he don't even need you.
We the real americans know who we want for the job and Obama is the perfect man for the job.

What is the matter with you people? It's not about Hillary, and it's not about Barack. It's about ideas. IDEAS!. If you like Hillary, how could you ever vote for McCain? She'd tell you to wake up! Same for Obama. They've both said the same thing. It's not about them! It's about us, and the hopes for our future. Do any of you really, really believe the Republicans care about you? Are you that naive? Hillary or Barack. Either of them would be just fine.

Foolish Democrats!

If all the Clinton supporters refuse to vote for Obama if he wins and Obama supporters refuse to vote for Clinton if she manages an upset then neither one can win. It's easy to sit back and say the other candidate can't win when half the Democrats are so spiteful they would actually rather have more McBush than another Democrat. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Cal Dem   May 8th, 2008 10:34 am ET

Are you serious? you want a website to boycott Obama? How do you Boycott a person? He is not selling anything? You truly are one of the uneducated. The reason it hasn't been done, is because sore losers like you who will switch to McCain a man who is 180 degrees the opposite of Hillary Clinton are a joke. This isn't a popularity contest!!! Do you vote on policies? Really? because Obama and Clinton are almost identical and I would vote in a GE for either. I have my preference, but don't be a lunatic and flip sides.

Deb   May 8th, 2008 10:34 am ET

This is great news.
I was just watching CNN and Hillary stating that she will be staying in the race until the end and that she feels she is the better candidate. LOL.... Hello Hillary if you didn't think so, who would????

California Voter   May 8th, 2008 10:33 am ET

Interesting comment above from H-Rod regarding Hillary alienating African American voters. Listen Obama deftly played the race card from the very beginnng with his stump speech where he talks about going to work in the black community when he graduated from law school. African American voters are supporting Obama because he is part African American. So be it.

Obama has not reached the magic number for obtaining the democratic nomination, Florida and Michigan voters have not been counted and there are more states yet to vote. Let everyone's vote count.

GO HILLARY 08

Every endorsement is great! Obama WILL be the Democratic nominee. All Hillary supporters should shift his way for the General Election if they are "true" Hillary and/or democrat supporters. A vote for McCain would be a vote for everything your candidate is against! It's time out for all of this sillyness and it's time to focus on what matters. Be mature about this; it's our future we're voting on!

OBAMA 08! YES WE CAN!!!

Mercy from Michigan   May 8th, 2008 10:32 am ET

I was watching MSNBC yesterday, "Morning Joe" or something like that; one of the moderators is a former NFL player (excuse my ignorance on NFL) but while the other moderators were discussing Obama and the campaign, he was just quiet, thoughtful. The only thing he kept asking was "Can Hillary still win?", and the others said "no, she cant, blah, blah". But he had that sad face still; maybe because he's a Hillary supporter, or maybe, just maybe because he knows that if there is someone who can steal this election is Hillary. NO one will say anything because, hey, as many had said; she has the "white vote". Its important to say that she also has the non-educated vote.

I tell you, I have a masters degree, and when someone with a PhD says something that a guy with a high school diploma is debating, I usually go with the most educated person.

Hillary just wants to pay for her debt; she has proven to me that I cannot vote for her as I planned because she doesnt see reality (like Bush), she does things her way, even when her advisers are telling her she should not (like Bush), she manipulates the rules to her advantage, which makes me wonder Is she going to manipulate the constitution to her advantage too? (like Bush)! Hillary is acting so much like Bush, acting funny, saying weird things, and still thinking people are stupid! No wonder non-educated people are the ones voting for her!

john   May 8th, 2008 10:32 am ET

If you voted for Hillary in the primaries but will be voting for Mccain in the general election than it means one of two things. One, that you know nothing about the real issues that these candidates support. Or, two, you are a racist. Either way, you better hope that ignorance truly is bliss.
Go Obama!

GA supported for Obama   May 8th, 2008 10:31 am ET

Hilary should quit, she ran an excellent campaing but she has to be honest w/ herself that it is time to let go.

The Democratic Party should unite. Everyone complains that they are tired of Bush, well if Obama is the nominee and the Hilary supporters whom vote for McCain defeat the whole purpose of making a change. This will give the American people another 4 yrs of Bush like years. Is that what you Hilary supporters want??? Being spiteful will sink the ship in America. If you so called Democrats want a change and mean it you would support Obama. This shouldn't be a black thing, some caucasians need to get over the black and white issues and realize that everyone was created equal and Obama is just as capable of running this country. If I recall a lot of democrats also helped to re-elect the moron we have now that calls himself the President of the USA. Did anyone ever question his capabilities? Everything that Bush has done has been to benefit the Bush family not the American people, McCain will do the same. If you want change act like you really mean it and support the best candidate which is Obama!

Come on guys, let's call for what it really is.................... Clinton is purposefully staying in just to cause problems so that Obama feels cornered into offering her his VP position. She is not putting 11 plus million dollars of her own money into this and get nothing out of it.

She's selfish, manipulative, dirty, and cunning. She is old politics!

Don't do it Obama!

Mike, Vicksburg MI   May 8th, 2008 10:31 am ET

After 8 years of greediness, self-indulgence, self-centeredness, and disregard for the milk of human kindness, how on earth can anyone be so near-sighted as to even think of voting for another Republican with the same basic political values as GWB? The future of our country is at stake not just the future of one candidate.

While I wouldn't claim that Obama will undoubtedly be as great a president, I want to remind you of another "inexperienced" man from Illinois who was little known to the nation at large, had held national office only two years, and had no management experience. What this man did have was ideals, convictions, and great intelligence. His greatness wasn't recognized until he was in office and tested. Because of him we still have our "greatest experiment" and, I submit, these times are no less challenging to our existence.

Anonymous   May 8th, 2008 10:31 am ET

Every time I check this board, I see a new low. If you don't like Obama, fine, but to say he's "stealing" the nomination? Where does that come from?

Kathy in Ohio – really? Is it that important to be attached to a winner? You know, you don't get a prize for predicting who would win. Obama's views are infinitely closer to Clinton's than McCain's. Obviously you care more about other factors than where the candidates stand on the issues and what this country really needs. But go ahead and glom onto whatever the media says you should. Don't forget, Obama also doesn't wear a flag pin on his lapel, he's an elitist, he knows Rev. Wright, and he might be a Muslim.

Independent Thinker   May 8th, 2008 10:30 am ET

John Edwards – please be a man, stand-up and be counted.

The voters of North Carolina have spoken – and why do you maintain this silence?

Politics is a gritty, tough act, and Hillary should be praised for her tenacity; however, the tide has indeed turned, the rules must be respected, and the math does not favor her candidacy.

Give Barack Obama his 'voice" and let's move forward as a united party to win the White House.

Still would love to hear how it is impossible for Obama to win the general, yet Hilliary, who has LESS supporters, would be a shoe-in. Because she won states like cali and new york that would go blue if anyone was running as a democrat? Or is it because her supporters are more childish and selfish by threatening to vote republican in the fall while Obama (the more EDUCATED) supporters are smart enough to realize what another 4 years of republican rule could do to this country?

Pretty much Hilliary and her supporters are saying, we are immature and if she cant have it neither can he, so you better give her the nomination.

Thats some electability.............

An Objective Observer, Toronto, Canada   May 8th, 2008 10:26 am ET

After reading most of the comments on this blog (and other recent CNN political blogs), it is becoming increasingly obvious how great a divide has been created within the Democrat party. If the tone of all these comments reflect the true feelings of the supporters within the Democrat party, then I do not see how the Democrats are going to come together to beat the Republicans in November.

As a Canadian who would like to see a Democrat win in November, I'm afraid that the relentless negative campaigning by Mrs Clinton, reinforced by Mr. McCain, has created a divide too great to repair. The comments from various supporters in this CNN blog confirms this to be true.

Emma, I so agree. I was really taken aback when I heard Tim Russert suggest that Obama should present a deal to pay off HRC's debt !
I don't think his contributors would appreciate it either.

I am also disheartened to see supporters of Hillary state that they will not vote for Obama and will vote for McCain. That surely is your perogative, however, I hope you never lose someone you know and love in the Iraq War, don’t have to decide to buy a full tank of gas vs. a gallon of milk, do not lose your job and as a result possibly have your home foreclosed on and not have healthcare, watch your 401k or your child’s 529 decline in value, need I say more? If you can in good conscience vote for McCain, then go for it.

Everyone blogging on here saying "Obama can't win". people have such short memories, or were too young when it happened, but the exact same thing happened for Bill Clinton. Great choice maybe he thought the same thing I did yesterday when McGovern came over to support Obama. I was wondering why McGovern phoned Bill to tell him that he was switching his support from the Clinton camp to Obama. Could it be that the real Clinton who would answer the phone at 3:00am would be Bill and not his puppet Hillary. Funny thing McGovern called Bill isn't it !

Hillary Clinton has so alienated African American voters , if she is to have any chance to win a another senate seat she must begin to mend the hard feelings between her and black voters, and she can't do that if stays in the race the longer she stays in the harder that will be ! she must get out now ! (yes obama can )

This is the start of the floodgates opening. I believe the SD's now feel comfortable enough to go to Obama and not have to worry about upsetting the Clinton's. Everyone knows this race is over now and it's more about letting Hillary recoup her 11 million in loans than her getting the nomination. As much as I don't like her politics, she put up a heck of a fight. Now, let's get behind Senator Obama and maybe we can see something different out of Washington.

Sammy   May 8th, 2008 10:00 am ET

Why are Democrats such whiners? I'm yet to hear any Republican say that they don't like McCain therefore they are going to vote for the Democratic nominee. And I'm particularly appalled at all these women who won't vote or will vote for McCain if Hillary doesn't get the nomination. Are these women going to be content with lower wages because McCain doesn't believe women deserve equal pay as men? Or are they goignto whine, as usual? Democrats should grow up!

ocaidel   May 8th, 2008 10:00 am ET

Something makes me think H.Clinton is staying on to divide the party, well, i am happy that people like Bonior are endorsing Obama. Clinton should get out now she still has the grace of doing that, if not she might have to do it shamefully.

the Pajama Pundit   May 8th, 2008 9:59 am ET

Drip, drip, drip....

I think that we are going to continue to see a steady stream of SuperD endorsements for Barack Obama. I would guess that it'll be an average of three or four per day for the next couple of weeks.

The best thing for Hillary to do now is to continue to spread her message while on the campaign trail – but to keep it positive. Any attacks on the Obama campaign will start make her appear like a sore loser. If she stays positive with her message, I think it will go a long way towards healing and uniting the Democratic party.

I did not know that CNN is now the Hillary Clinton Donation Headquaters. The first thing that you see when you go into their website is a picture of Hillary Clinton, begging for money. What surprises me in all this is that the "super" delegates are afraid to do what effective leaders do. Effective leaders make hard decisions that will lead their followers down a path that is best for all. It is apparent that Clinton intentions are to divide the Democratic Party and the "super" delegates are refusing to do what best for the party overall and end this insurrection of Clinton to hand the presidency to McCain.

Cooper   May 8th, 2008 9:54 am ET

Everyone knows that Barack Obama is the Democratic Nominee. Everyone knew that a long time ago. Everyone was afraid to come out and go against the Clintons. Which, given the Clinton's power in DC, was not the wrong move to make. The party must be unified.

To Hillary Clinton Supporters,

Sen. Clinton and Sen. Obama had their differences, this is true. But, to say that you would rather vote for McCain than Obama is asinine. Sen. Clinton and Sen. Obama saw eye to eye on 90% of the issues that they fought about. McCain doesn't see eye to eye on anything. Why would you rather get none of what you want than 90% of what you want? It doesn't even matter what the issue is. If somebody is offering you 90% of something and 50% of something, you'd take the 90% everytime. Think about it for a minute...

As an Obama supporter, I think all these endorsements should wait until the primary season is over and here's why:

1. Clinton deserves a chance to finish out her bid for the White House

2. Allowing Clinton to run her course will give her supporters a sense of closure

3. The time will give Obama a chance to work on his fall campaign strategy and work the democratic base into a strong and unified coalition

For all you Sen. Clinton supporters, KUDOS. You ran a good race and I think the whole democratic party is stronger for it.

IF   May 8th, 2008 9:45 am ET

Great! Maybe Edwards will follow suit and that sorry spectacle of Clinton's blindness will be over and the democrats can move on to engage McCain.

I can't figure out whether Hillary just can't take no for an answer (even from so many voters) or if her purpose is darker... trying to ensure Obama doesn't get her supporters votes in the GE, so she can make a move in 2012 (after all McCain is less likely to serve a second term than Obama).

From what I've seen of the lady, this darker alternative is the more likely.

proud army and navy mom   May 8th, 2008 9:45 am ET

Martha Biggs   May 8th, 2008 9:44 am ET

How exciting for this Obama supporter! Certainly many Edwards backers - like those in my Kansas caucus - gave their support to Obama. However, at this point, Clinton needs to make the move to end this nominating process so that Dems can focus on the general election. Super delegates cannot afford to alienate large parts of their constituencies by coming out for either Obama or Clinton until the race is decided by some other means. Super delegates are stuck; Clinton must make a move - or we will continue this divisive primary season.

Atty. K.   May 8th, 2008 9:44 am ET

Keep the superdelegates coming!!! Go Barack.

Women for Obama   May 8th, 2008 9:43 am ET

Very nice, but this is just one more endorement that means very little. The only endoresements that matter at this point are those of the superdelegates.

Obama and Clinton are probably going to split the remaining states. I'll tune in to this whole endorsement thing once enough supers weigh in.

We love Hillary and Bill to death, but I strongly believe it's time for senator Hillary Clinton to call it quit. Conceding to Senator Obama does not defined you as been weak, but as a fighter ready to unite the democratic party and put an end to the Republican BAD leadership rule.

Ron M.   May 8th, 2008 9:43 am ET

This will likely open the floodgates for the rest of Edwards' campaign staff and volunteers to make the leap. It is a good idea to join while she is still in the race, because that will increase their chances of getting a job in January.

Lee WV   May 8th, 2008 9:43 am ET

Wait for the rest of the elections are over if you must and then do the right, enlightened thing for the good of this country that you 'claim' you care so much about.

As an Independant who has decided to vote for Obama, this marks the first time I will have ever voted Democrat.
I usually vote third party or Republican. So I consider my self an outsider looking in, for almost every election.
But I have never seen anything like the divided loyalties with in the Democratic party this time around.

I have to say, I am not impressed at all.

Zero unity

Zero commitment to the party (with voters threatening to vote for McCain if their candidate doesn't win),

Zero integrity in many of the arguements made for campaign mangement. (IMO largely by Senator Clinton's campaign).

Zero chance to win in November if this continues.

Aa a former Canadian resident, now living in Spain, I have been enthralled by the ups and downs of your very exciting Democratic Party elections for Presidential nominee. In my view your party is fortunate to have had such strong candidates. One, Sen Clinton the establishment's original choice; the other a relatively unknown Sen Obama, an African American who has excited a large number of individuals not only in the US but also around the world.

In the 1970`s, a young French Canadian lawyer stunned everyone in Canada with his nomination as leader of the Liberal Party ( Democratic, sort of) and went on to defeat the Conservative ( Republican, sort of) older and more experienced candidate in the General Election. He inspired a new age of young voters with his vision and desire for change and went on to be regarded by many as one of Canada`s great Prime Ministers.

The parallels with Sen Obama are obvious.

I will watch the Obama vs McCain contest with great interest to see if history repeats itself south of the border.

Wonderful Rep. Mr. David Bonior! Smart people get it! Congratulations!

Ok people let explore those "experience" thing people hung themselves upon:

- If one is experienced driver, one knows how much gas ones car/truck takes, and when and how to top the oil, etc.
- if one is a homemaker, one knows what items that are needed for the home to function, food items, utilities, etc. One knows how to maintain family budget
-if one is working in a plant, one understands the processes and proceedures
- if one is working at in a fastfood chain, one understands how much "freedom fries", breads, etc are needed per day
- when you are in for audition, for American Idol, acting role, etc, your performance determines if you have what it takes

The question how can HRC claim the she is such an "exprienced" candidate, when she cannot maintain campaign budget? No corporate manager will ever recruit an executive that demonstrates such a result! Objectively speaking, I cannot trust any person cann't demonstrate organisational, leadership, financial and business acumen with such an importat position as USA Presidency! Primaries gives a reasonable insight how a person can perform in the office!

OMG   May 8th, 2008 9:30 am ET

Good news!. And what about Edwards? Given the victory in NC, I would hope he pledges his 26 delegates to Obama. I respect his and his wife's split feelings about the candidates, but every delegate counts, and the Dem's are trying to bring this primary season to a respectable close.

Edward's backing and delegate pledge could help a great deal.

BTW Edwards would make a great Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare........a cabinet post with great power. Certainly as much as he has as a private citizen running a foundation.

Thank you, Mr. Bonior for taking a stand. Is Former Michigan Rep. David Bonior a superdelegate? If Mr. Bonior is endorsing Senator Obama, will John Edwards be making an announcement any time soon? I think his decision could finally put an end to the delusional charade this Primary season has become.

It's time the superdelegates removed the fence polls from their backsides and do what they were chosen to do – make a decision. They can put an end to this, but fearing repercussions, they won't do that. I think they need to look at the fact that their fear of making a decision brings their re-electability into question. Who wants a politician that can’t make a decision even with most of the facts already in and a clear choice to be made? If they can't take a little criticism for their choices, then they should not be in politics.

The ball is rolling for Obama and Clinton is only working to disenfranchise her supporters from voting the first black man into office instead of her being the first female President. As a republican who originally thought he was going to vote for a Dem, Clinton's campaign only confirming my originally beliefs that Dems are only out to hear themselves talk instead of actually making changes. If you want to beat McCain you need to back Obama and work for the support of the entire party or else 4 more years for my registered party...

Barb   May 8th, 2008 9:25 am ET

I wonder what David Bonnier thinks about the controversy regarding the Michigan primary mess. His former staffer, Mark Brewer is the state party chair. Too much game playing and over intriguing going on in Michigan.

It would serve them right if their delegates never got seated. But that would hurt in the general election. If McCain taps Romney to be VP, he will definitely put Michigan in play.

The stranglehold of the old, organized labor pols that helped screw Michigan up in the primary will have small effect in delivering a vote for Obama.

Bonnier is going with Obama bcz he needs to stay relevant. I wonder what Obama had to give him to get him. Waiting is really not a bad thing.

Time is on Obama's side. With all these supers. There is nothing to be desperate about, certainly. If I were Obama, I'd wait , and let them come to him. These people have nowhere else to go and it will cost Obama less to wait.

Same with the older white women who support Hillary. Will they actually consider voting McCain or not voting at all, with the possibility of two Supreme Court appointments coming up on the next president's watch? I doubt it. If Bonnier is a super delegate, this is good. If not, it is "so what." I don't think Bonnier has much influence over Edwards. In fact, I'd be willing to bet on it.

in him. The media can say all they want that Hillary supporters will
unite the partybut let me tell you they are dead wrong. The people that
supported Hillary did so because the absolutly do not believe Obama
is qualified and has too much anti american baggage. If Obama wins,
I can and many other can say when he screws up, we DIDN'T vote
for him.

Who cares about Former Rep. David Bonior endorsement? Senator Obama has won North Carolina........John Edwards take your ball and go home. You tried to blackmail Senator Obama and he would not play your game.

How dare Tim Russert suggest that the Obama campaign help Senator Clinton with her campaign debts. I suggest that Hillary Clinton return to rural America, over 50, white and uneducated and ask them to donate the $28.00 they would have saved from the suspension of the gas tax. They were gullible the first time and I am sure Senator Clinton can convince them to help her out, after all her $109M would require liquidation and she certainly doesn't want to lose her $28.00 a second of interest.

Senator Clinton threw the kitchen sink at Senator Obama, I now think it is time for the Obama campaign to turn on the garbage disposal........don't you think?

Krissy, FL   May 8th, 2008 9:23 am ET

I am pleased to know that all of the democratic superdelegates are not cowards. clinton/obama? It matters not for whom you vote, just do it. Say it loud and say it clear. Have a backbone for a change. Let's get this show on the road.

Obama 08.

Wow, this is just sad. Could he really think that (a) the Dem superdelegates would listen to him or (b) his listeners are that stupid (snicker, snicker)?

Johnny Be Good   May 8th, 2008 9:20 am ET

I see this only as the first as the flood gates will be opening soon!!!!! Way to go NC and IN. The news is very different this morning than it has been the last 16 months!!!

Oh, to my fellow Obama supporters, give the name calling a rest. We won and now is the time we work on getting the HRC people in our cornor and on our side. Let's show them who Obama is and why we support him. We need the HRC people. Without them we as a party are doomed to a 3rd bush term. Really, who what's that???????????????

Angus McDugan   May 8th, 2008 9:20 am ET

How in the world did we end up with this grab bag of candidates for the most powerful office in the world? Hillary is a lier, Obama thinks he is going to change the way Washington works, and McCain (more to come later on him).

J Chisolm   May 8th, 2008 9:20 am ET

Wow! Now that's impressive!

nancy   May 8th, 2008 9:20 am ET

Good man David Bonior. Now just have John Edwards come forward to endorse Obama and the world will sing. Do you really want someoe in the White House (Hillary) who will not listen to anyone but herself (sound familiar). Stubbornness and "MY way or the Highway" is how the White House has been run for the last 7 years.

GO OBAMA

Watch the clock, tick, tick, tick. Our man Obama: Most states won, most delegates won, most popular vote won, and pretty soon.....most superdelegates won. Did any one notice oncly 10 difference between Obama and Clinton? It's narrowing steadily. I love this. Clinton, the fat lady is singing. Time to exit gracefully.

Debbie   May 8th, 2008 9:16 am ET

The DNC should force all of the delegates and super delegates who's states have voted to put in their vote. If your state has voted what are they waiting for. Their excuses are up just like Hillary's are for staying in the race. She's staying in because anything can happen. Why would you wish something bad on a person. Or do they know something already. Politicians and the media are working very hard to keep Obama out of the nomination. I hope something happens that would hinder her. Its a joke to believe that she would help Obama.

Jewish Women for Obama   May 8th, 2008 9:14 am ET

It may take more time than people would like, myself included, but when Obama stays positive and sticks to his message it does work and more people will come to his side. I think he is initially weakened by the old school political attacks and gimmicks but, when people have a moment to consider the situation, they are impressed by his principled approach.

Great news and many more superdels to come I'm sure.

jcm from Tampa, FL   May 8th, 2008 9:13 am ET

Barack Obama is running a great campaign; he is breaking records in donations to his campaign; what is really happening is that the American People are making their voices be heard; I’m making 25 dollar donations to this campaign every time I can; I want that money to be spent in all kind of advertisement. If we outspent Hillary 3 to 1 it is because ordinary people getting together can accomplish extraordinary results. Barack is the new guy in the block, but he has been around for over 20 years in politics and people who know him are giving him their support, that is why is important to deliver his message to the whole country and to the world, so, he is not the new guy in the block.

John   May 8th, 2008 9:12 am ET

Does this signify the beginning of the end for Hillary coming on top of the switch by George Mcgovern and the financial bancruptcy of the Clinton Campaign.

If America wants a change and a democrat in the Whitehouse the only candidate with the financial clout and superior nation wide support staff and volunteers is Barack Obama. as for the Michigan votes I believe that in a contested Primary Obama would have won in Florida Hillary probably would have won, the simple answer is to allocate these two primaries Is 55-45 Obama Michigan 55-45 Clinton Florida.

Obama is clearly going to be the Nominee, the quicker the party gets there the Better the chances of the Whitehouse,
LETS GO FOR IT NOW
I cannot see Hillary as the VP however a senior position for Hillary and Bill in Obama's cabinet would seem to be a really good strategic move by the Democrat's which I could support whole heartedly

But it is clearly inevitable that it will be an Obama : McCain match up in November.

dave   May 8th, 2008 9:11 am ET

Kaye- Jacksonville FL   May 8th, 2008 9:11 am ET

The unpledged "superdelegates" will steadily endorse Obama, except for those who are politically obligated to go with Clinton. And the news today about Hollywood mogul Wienstein strong-arming Nancy Polosi is just another pathetic reflection on the Clinton campaign. Mathematically, it's over. Go quietly into the good night....

Can we all please come together? I keep hearing these biased comments. I also hear people talking about switch to the republican side if their candidate does not win. Is it really that serious? I'm sure we will all agree that McCain's Republican agenda is truly worst than either one of our fine democratic candidates. Let make peace and change the USA!

Slowly and each SuperD chooses Senator Obama. This shows that that delegate is making a deliberate choice and is not being forced to chose.

H HEIDI   May 8th, 2008 9:03 am ET

Welcome abroad, and know your former employer (John Edward) is welcome too. Although he elected to not make a public endorsement prior to the NC election.

North Carolina Gal   May 8th, 2008 9:03 am ET

Thank you Former Michigan Rep. David Bonior, for doing the right thing for our party by endorsing Barack Obama for president.

The Super delegates are showing unfairness to the nominee that has been voted to serve our party in November. We are to believe HRD loves the Democratic party, If this is love we are seeing from someone who wants to be the President than hate would be equal to this so call love.

To the people whom supported HRC and now states that they will not vote for Obama, that they will change parties and vote for McCain, Apparently, you had this in mind anyway. If HRC had been the one that the people had voted in, I would have given her my support because I do love being a Democratic and four more years with a 3rd Bush agenda is a nightmare.

Please Super delegates do not let these idol threats shake your mind, do the right thing and join Former Michigan Rep. David Bonior and the rest who know that Obama won fair and square...

For those of you that worry about HRC, you really need to worry about yourself, anyone with $11 M+ sitting around to borrow to use for an election will be doing GREAT mentally, physical and of course financially without the bragging rights of being our first woman president.

Bernard Shelton   May 8th, 2008 9:03 am ET

Very Good News.

Better Late than never. Where is Edwards himself? Kind of difficult to intelligently figure him out.

I think Oboma will make a great presedent. He is not thinking of only the africanamerican community , he is enclusive of all people.I' think he can relate to black and white because he is both. He can also relate to the plight of the average persons. He know what it's like to start from the bottom up.

John Edwards needs to let it be known now who he endorses!!!! There is no need to wait any longer.

Is it possible that Hillary is just staying in the race at this point to try to make back some of the money she lost in "loans" to her campaign? I can't blame her if that is the case but I would hope that people that are donating to her campaign would want to know where their money is going.

kissnahug   May 8th, 2008 8:59 am ET

Now just convince Edwards to get out the closet and endorse Barack.

I'd rather know what Edwards thinks. If it was Edwards instead of Clinton running right now I'd have a tough time right now deciding whether I'd vote for Edwards or Obama.

Chris Mannoia   May 8th, 2008 8:57 am ET

I have a question: what is the deal with John Edwards? Mr. "I'm for the little guy," with like a 10 million dollar estate; why hasn't he endorsed anyone? Is he waiting for the best deal? Attorney General with Hillary? Vice President with Obama?

Typical lawyer, out for himself.

rehoboth ng   May 8th, 2008 8:57 am ET

I do not cease to be amused by the frenzy surrounding the endorsement fever. Is it not so clear who the Democratic presumptive nominee is? It is only logical at this point to allow Barrack Obama run as the party's presidential candidate. The handwriting is on the wall for Hillary Clinton.
By the way, why did she have to meet with party officials yesterday.? I guess she must have tried to spin them to nominate her. It is a pity.

PA Supporter for OBAMA   May 8th, 2008 8:56 am ET

Now that's what I'm talking about.!!! Thank you Mr. Bonoir!! 8 more to go and Obama will tie Hillary in the Superdelegate numbers! He will than be winning in all categories.

Barack – a leader for ALL people!!!

FEDUP   May 8th, 2008 8:56 am ET

Kenneth M   May 8th, 2008 8:55 am ET

TOO LATE EDWARDS, TOO LATE. STAY ON THE SIDE NOW AND DONT BOTHER TO RUN AGAIN. YOU DID NOT GET MORE THEN 6% OF ANY STATE ANYWAY.

Baby B   May 8th, 2008 8:55 am ET

and who cares?

KE   May 8th, 2008 8:53 am ET

Obama/Hillary or Hillary/Obama won't work I realized. Obama's record will hunt both of them if they are on the same ticket, it will hurt both of them. Best Obama run in November his way if he is a nominee. He and his supporters just need to figure out how to win over Hillary's constituency who most likely will make up thier own mind. Or perhaps they have already some other plan.

I suppose Hillary can quit anytime if she chose to, unless there is something we don't know and she should keep going against all the fights and fuss from her own party and the media. We know she doesn't need to prove anything to anybody now. She run an ectraordinary campaign and she will be very well respected, both domestically and internationally after this. She deserves good break soon from campaigning so hard.

This election is the most interesting election I can remember paid attention to, with so many complicaions and the evolution of media, political parties, race, gender and so on. I really learned a lot about the party though.

Belle   May 8th, 2008 8:45 am ET

Clinton has won 10 of the Battleground states compared to Obama's 7
Clinton has won EVERY state needed to win the General Election, and then some.

For the Obama supporters that say Obama does NOT need Clinton or FL or MI...wow...you are dumber than you are supposed to be.

If Clinton chose to run as an Independant....she would beat BOTH Obama and McCain in a General Election....

I think she should do it! Too bad she is so loyal to the Democratic Party...

By the way...you Obama supporters that say a vote for Clinton is Racist...actually YOUR comment is the Racist comment. You may support your candidate vigorously, but to globalize and group all Clinton voters like that shows the racism in the remarks to begin with.
Only part of the reason you have helped to divide the party.

So what? Obviously Rep. Bonior couldn't do much for John Edwards, so I guess he will make an attempt for Obama? Not saying much here.

Sam in Indiana   May 8th, 2008 8:38 am ET

Hillary is kidding herself and trying to kid the superdelegates. Hillary could never win the general election. More people would vote against her than for her. Operation chaos helped her in Indiana to the tune of 15% of people in the exit polls said they would not vote for her in the general election. She is simply divisive.

Obama is really the nominee at this point. And our best chance for winning the general election.

fred   May 8th, 2008 8:38 am ET

Oh WOW, another nut case....Obama will never win in the General...I hope they all enjoy their loss!!

If not Hillary...then McCain!!!

M Philllips   May 8th, 2008 8:37 am ET

Let's hope Elizabeth and John Edwards join him. They have a lot to offer the Obama campaign– a far better choice for them than swimming toward a sinking ship.

jcm from Tampa, FL   May 8th, 2008 8:37 am ET

It is time for John Edwards to do the same; the whole country is desperate for this change and he knows it.

Hillary is trying to buy the White House loaning money to her campaign; when she n loaned the first 5 million dollars she said that it was a good investment; I don’t do an investment unless I’m getting a good rate of return. The president’s salary is $400,000 per year, so, she will need to be president 12.5 years just to get her principal back and having work free all that time.

She is trying to buy the White House with those loans; but the housing market is not doing so well and she will have to foreclose before she gets in it.

Dennis   May 8th, 2008 8:37 am ET

Limbaugh is a moron, who would listen to him anyway?

ele   May 8th, 2008 8:36 am ET

Well, that is just great!

Jan   May 8th, 2008 8:36 am ET

Obama may steal the nomination -but will not win the election in November. He can talk the talk but seems to be unable to walk the walk. Vacations in the middle of an important election? Never had to pay his dues? Disenfranchising voters? He simply does not know how to win more than a couple demographics.

kathy in ohio   May 8th, 2008 8:36 am ET

anyone know of any websites to boycott obama I am a big hillary supporter, female, white, catholic, blue colar, uneducated, clinging to my guns and religion. Anyone else upset about the pressure for hillary to leave the race. I am one of those that will vote for McCain only to cancel an Obama vote. I think we need a website so the democratic party realizes how serious we are.
